Gelson's Market Highest Priced Groceries

Rated 3.0 out of 5

I am seriously disappointed in the direction Gelson’s “business model” has chosen to conduct business, as are many of my friends. Since Gelsons Market is the highest price grocery market in Los Angeles, nickel and diming your loyal and devoted customers has become your common practice, from your Deli Dept., right on through your produce department.

I have been a loyal customer for the past 30+ years, but you have most recently pushed us too far – by first cutting coupon use from four, to two, and now to “one”. Alienating your older customers is more than unwise, and word will spread far and wide reflecting just how greedy Gelsons has become. For many years I had repeatedly recommended Gelsons for so many things, now I can no longer in good conscience do so in the future. With so many excellent markets available in and around your locations, especially on the westside, Pavilions, Whole Foods, Trader Joe, Sprouts, Vons, and Ralph’s. All of these markets respect their customer base and carry far more organic produce selections that are no longer available at Gelsons, although that was not always the case.

Clearly, you don’t care about losing your customers and their business. May your shortsightedness, your greed, your lack of loyalty for and to your customers base, lower your bottom line as a result of your poor choices. You clearly need your customer base far more than we need you, and, to be honest, you are certainly not a “Wegmans”!
