  1. me and my son had a appointment at the mentor ohio office. Boy was that a Big Mistake. Where do you hire these ppl . We set there for 2 hours my son was crying cause we were there so long. We made the appointment to get are teeth cleaned and that didn't happen. We were the first appointment of the day 8am the receptionist was rude no customer service no smile, but when her girlfriend walked in the door she stood there talking to her for 20 min (why cant she be all happy with her customers). There was a old McDonalds coffee cup in the plant in the lobby with a dirty tissue in it. Then went to the bathroom wouldn't use it there was POOP on the Toilet seat how gross. Then the dentist was so rude I should have listened to my friend but I gave them a chance. The dentist told me I had no cavities but I should get all my top teeth pulled out, What the hell!!!!! So after 2 hrs me and my son left walked right out of this office. I will let everyone knows NOT TO GO TO ASPEN oh I have good insurance and will fight my insurance not to pay this bill. no one washed there hands after taking off there gloves I work in a hospital and no matter what you wash your hands between patients.

    1. I agree. Do Not Go To Aspen Dental. I had a horrible experience with aspen. they want to bill $79 for less than a 2 minute "exam". they are willing to cover what you have to pay. that means they just want the easy insurance money. don't fall for it.

    2. Amen to all of this!...I went into the Tyrone Blvd office in St Petersburg FL to have two crowns replaced due to bruxism. They would not do the work unless it was paid upfront so they wiped my flex spending account clean of over $2k. It took over a year for them to submit the proper information to my insurance. After getting my company benefit department involved the claim was finally paid correctly resulting in over $1k refund. They said they sent 2 refund checks but I never received the money and kept the remaining $127 for "other charges" which they said was a charge they told me months prior they wrote off due to them scheduling my checkup too soon, taking x-rays which were not covered by my insurance. Throughout the process, I was lied to over and over, they were not helpful and were very unprofessional. They were nice on the surface but definitely all about scamming the customer and insurance companies out of their money. Extremely disappointed with their insincerity, unprofessionalism and white collar crime!

    3. NEVER, EVER, EVER GO TO ASPEN DENTAL. My daughters boyfriend went to have a broken tooth removed. He had to pay $400 after what insurance covered. After the extraction, he went home and later in the day he pulled the cotton swab from his mouth to check on things. Low and behold, THEY PULLED THE WRONG TOOTH!! He contacted the office where he had the procedure and their response was, "I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do for you". Needless to say, he now has to contact the insurance company to advise them not to pay as well as file with the credit card company that he paid the $400 with. What a nightmare!!!!!!!

    5. I'm a patient at the Madison AL office, I've only been for my initial consultation thus far. I'd received a phone call from that office a couple weeks ago to call so a member could go over the financial management plan they'd come up with for me. Well due to my illness from serving in the Army and fighting in the2003 Iraq war, Gulf War Syndrome, I'd been having some major health issues and just today was able to return this phone call. The young man who answered and took my return call,Luke, tonight at445pm was very inconsiderate and plain rude. Initially when I informed him of the purpose for my call, that I was returning a call from his office, he replied by stating"you've never been seen in this office you went to Cullman and need to address this with them if you want information" I had to disagree with him3 different times bf he looked at his file again to find he was mistaken and I indeed am a patient in Madison and not Cullman. When he finally decided he could/would speak with me and not continue trying to send me somewhere else, the only information he provided was that, even though I've already done this at the conclusion of my initial appointment in the Madison AL office, "you'll just need to come to apply for financing" when I asked if there was anything else I'd need he said"you need to start checking your voicemail and returning calls" I asked him to repeat that and he said nevermind so I started to say thank you I appreciate your help in looking into this for me, but was only able to get"Thank you" out before the line cut off and was dead from being hung up on midsentence with no hint ie"thank you for your business" "Have a good evening" "Can I help with anything else" or even simply"Goodbye", that he had chosen to abruptly put an end to our conversation.

  2. Dennis R. McNally Peru, INJune 2, 2014 at 6:45 PM

My name is Dennis McNally. I had an appointment gone wrong today because the dentist wouldn't perform the extraction procedure because of high blood pressure. Of course, they had already taken the payment, which now must be held for 15 days before they can issue a refund. Overall, I will NEVER go to Aspen Dental again!

  4. I to made the mistake of going to Aspen 2 years ago. I told them what I wanted and paid OVER $3000 up front. Then it was every time I went in THEY would do what they wanted. Never the same people, and 1 time was numbed up to get teeth pulled and 2 hours later I walked out. Then Aspen dentist wanted me to save some of my bottom teeth wish is not what I wanted. Went last week and now they want $1609.90. I don't have what I paid for so I make sure EVERY ONE I know does not get ripped off as I have. My next move will be calling the T.V. news and get there help. I regret not going to Chatt. at Affordable Dentures. They make Aspen look like the rip offs that Aspen is

  5. I want to let someone know about my experience at the SE 14th Aspen dental office in Des Moines, IA. The dental hygienist was completely non informative and had a uncommunicative behavior. I felt that I could have benefited from someone who would have been able to reply to my questions in a professional, knowledgeable manner and at least try to offer helpful advise or hints in a professional cheerful manner. What I got was a sullen uneducated response to my questions, she was slurring her words and gave the impression that she was not even qualified for the position at all. I also observed her and the majority of the staff circling a patient file and making comments and laughing, this is completely unacceptable behavior people have a right to their dignity and privacy and I feel this is a violation of HIPAA!!! I was completely disappointed with the unprofessional and unknowledgeable staff at this location on August 25, 2014, I have no desire to have another horrendous experience with the quality of people that they have employed at this location and will not schedule any services in the future with this company, I also will forewarn my friends and professional acquaintances of my experience.

  6. I had an appointment today, after an e-mail was sent Friday to confirm. I got there and they had cancelled it. But no one told me. I was waiting for my permanent Partial and they gave me one with less teeth than the one temporary that I already had, and it was lose. They did not like it and try to add to the old one. I am not happy with aspen, the dentist is a very nice Lady, but I like to get what i paid for.... a permanent partial that fits like is supposed to, with all the teeth is supposed to have.

  8. I saw and ad in newspaper advertising free x-rays and exam for people without insurance. I am a widow on a fixed income and needed a tooth put in with wires on each side to hold it in place. The doctor and staff were very nice and professional throughout the exam. Then I was sent to the finance office and they gave me a price on what the doctor suggested I have done. All I wanted was one tooth. When I asked the employee how much it would cost to put the one tooth in she said $3000 for the replacement tooth I told her I wanted. She then told me it would cost $9000 if they put in 3 partial plates, with 1tooth and a cap on both teeth on each side of the missing tooth.
I told her I could not afford to have this done. She then offered their finance service. I told her
I did not want any financing for $9000. I told her that I was 76 years old and was not going to leave a $9000 bill for my children to pay. I had already told her I was on a fixed income. I told her that I could not afford this and could not use their services and I left. I later called back and asked for my x-rays and they were so nice and told me to come by the office and pick them up
I asked her how much they would cost and she said nothing. After I drove 40 miles round trip to pick them up, they gave me a copy of my teeth they had done on the copy machine. They knew that another Dentist would not accept this printer copy of my teeth. The receptionist was very smug acting. I would have been more than happy to pay for the free x-rays that they made of my teeth. A dissatisfied customer is a Companies worse advertisement. I have read the other reviews and my opinion of Aspen Dental seems to be true.

  10. I am waiting for billing from an Aspen office. I do have insurance and I know what the insurance paid. Before I left the office they wanted me to pay for what was done according to what they estimated. I wanted to wait and see what the insurance actually paid. This figure was quite different from what they wanted to collect. I would like to see the bill before I pay.

    1. Just as I figured no relies to any of these comments or questions. This is just a site for people to blow off steam and corporate sits back and laughs. As long as they get your money at least one time, they don't expect to see you again.

    2. First and foremost I want to say that I am pleased with the consultation, procedures completed and staff at the local facility. But, I have a problem with the billing. I have insurance and paid the estimation upfront also. My insurance company paid a certain amount. I overpaid. The procedure was in 12/14. I am still in the process of receiving the refund and it is now almost May 2015. There were so many excuses and passing the buck to billing. I have been blessed to have dental insurance my entire life and never had this type of problem. I am going to call the satisfaction and corporate offices to determine the reasoning it REALLY is taking so long. If I owed them money, believe me they would send invoices demanding payment. It is disheartening because Ii really like the staff but I think I am going to have to find another dentist.

  11. I went to Aspen in Spring Hill FL for a buildup & a crown. I agreed to the price BUT the dentist then insisted I do a deep clean on my whole mouth adding a couple of hundred dollars to the cost. When I said no, the dentist then refused to perform the crown in short - no crown no cleaning. I went to a Aspen in Brooksville FL - there the dentist said no deep cleaning required BUT she wanted to a root canal at several hundred dollars. When I objected, she said no roor canal - no crown. When I explained the other dentist said no root canal was necessary & advised not to get one, she dismissed me with that is his opinion. I have filed a complaint with the state Dept of Health, BBB and my Ins Co - SafeGuard.. Not only go to them at your own risk, just shiop around for different opinions..... What a group...........Go there & dontt say you were not warned.

  12. I worked at Aspen as a Office manager after being at a private practice for 30 years and I was appalled at what I saw! The Dentists are terrible and do not have the same training and expertise as private dentists! The work I saw was horrendous, especially in crown and bridge and in dentures and partial dentures! The work coming out of their dental lab in syracuse is absolutely the worse I have ever seen and I cannot believe how they get away with this! I has 6 dentists in my practice in Bowling Green Ohio in a period of 1 year including a dentist who had no peripheal vision in either eye because of an accident, great lady but horrible dentist! The hygienists are hacks who are only there for the money, which is substantial based on how many patients they see each day, some were making nearly 100K a year doing 15 minute cleaning on adults and 2 hour full mouth scalings, in the private sector they take 1 hour for an adult cleaning and 4 hours to do a complete mouth scalings and root planing! I immediately changed my hygienist and made her take at least 30 minutes on her adult cleanings at which time she transferred to another practice with Aspen. Stay away from these practices and complain to your dental board!

Dr. Morris and his staff were so laid back and knew exactly how to make me feel comfortable and good about myself! I have never been so impressed in my entire life! 14. I had a set of dentures for 5 years from another disreputable dentist. they fit but I was ready for a new set that would fit better. I went to Aspen to get a new set and have been fighting to get things straight ever since. The Pace office says no problem don't worry about your bill, we are getting it corrected. I am calling the Corporate Office, they tell me my account has been frozen and to disregard the Collection notice. I called the Collection company and they said they are waiting for notification from Aspen. HELLO anybody ever heard of inducing a heart attack!?

  15. Karin S. Walsh from Phoenix, AZ. - I first went to Aspen Dental in 2013 when my upper denture cracked. The pregnant front girl asked if I had an appoint. She got up and began to look through a box I told her I had just made the appoint & the night before. She wheeled around & said rudely & loud "you have to respect me". I was upset & said I would not kiss her ass due to an emergency. I found out she was seeing the dentist who told me that he would not help me. I ended up leaving that day,

  16. Continued from above Karin S. Wash, in Phoenix - but because of the time it normally takes to put someone new on my plan I called what I thought was Aspen hq & they urged me to go back for the repair. The same dentist came out and told me he would not help me? I then got loud & another male came out & did the repair on my denture for $20.00. 2 weeks ago it broke again. So I called another Aspen office so that I would not meet up with the same people. Made an appoint for last Friday where they used my time there to talk about finance for a new set of dentures. Then told me they would not be able to make the repair. I said that is what I came in here for and they said well we won't have time&the Dentist said it will hold until your next appoint. All the time I was there every person in the office were circling me and side glancing me. I had to use the restroom & on my way back noticed the front office girl was the same girl from the other office. So this Tuesday my dentures cracked completely in the middle & I called and was told that as long as I got there by 1pm they would be fixed by 4:30pm. I did get there & the guy they had helping me looked as though they pulled him off the street & I made the comment that something was not right there to which he said oh your being silly. He brought over a tray for my denture & it looked like something he took out of the trash & he said oh I brought the wrong tray. He brought over another one that was a little better but without a paper towel or tissue & he looked at me & said I will be cleaning your denture anyway, so I went ahead and put it in. He waked away and then came back and asked if I bought the dentures from Aspen, I said no & he came back over & asked again I said no. He said well they will be ready at 6pm. I work & live about 16miles from this location and was upset as I did not want to sit there for 5 hours & went up front and told the Manager that I was told it would be 4:30.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Continue again from Karin Walsh in Phoenix - This female then said, very condescendingly "remember when we talked on the phone and I said we would be taking our lunch?" I said and you also said 4:30. This was repeated at least 3 time& I noted that the entire office was standing & watching me. I said I don't appreciate being used for your entertainment. I left. I didn't hear from them by 5:15 so I called to find out what time they closed as I was concerned that they planned to close & I would be without my denture so I went to their office & got there by 5:40. Again there was only staff on site as in the early afternoon, I sat down and immediately the guy comes out and hollers my name. I said why are you calling me so soon as I just got back, he said your repair is done! I said how long as it been done as you didn't call me? When they handed this denture back to me I noticed that they had done something else to them as now they had a bright pink color and this guy then says "we can't always get the same color". I looked at them & they had not even matched up the break so that the area I would be putting next to the roof of my mouth would slice it open. The dentist came over and grabbed them & shaking with his filing tool saying I HEARD YOU TALKING TO THE GIRLS UP FRONT, he said that while shaking several times & then was waiting for a response and I told him I was very vulnerable as he had my teeth in his hand. He handed them back and I went off. The people are not only UNPROFESSIONAL but act as though customers are interfering in their day & are extremely rude. They have no right to be in this business. Does Aspen hire from the class that has failed? After reading all these experiences, this can't be an accident they have to be going out of their way to hire these people. By the way I was charged $116.00 for this nasty repair for which I had to buy a file because of the broken pieces they left. Also he left my front teeth separated. I blame myself for believing it was only the first office but it appears that all your offices are the same. The person above from Alabama either works for you or found the only office with real professionals in it.

  18. The Sherman, TX location told me that they could not perform any services without an OBGYN note allowing since I am pregnant. Completely unknowledgable and unprofessional. Horrible experience.

  19. I thought I would give Aspen the benefit of the doubt, boy was that a mistake! I am not sure the office manager or dental hygienist know what HIPPA is. The office as a whole was rude and spoke of personal information out loud at the front desk. I have never been to a dental office that was so unprofessional. I am appalled at the service and felt like I was on a assembly line, needless to say I will not be going again nor did I receive the service I went in for. I will happily pay out of network and be seeing a REAL dentist who knows and understands the HIPPA law. Training is apparently not required. I believe the corporate office needs to re-evaluate the training process while actually making sure HIPPA laws are not bent since this office apparently has no understanding. This was in the Greenwood, SC area.

When I first got them they hurt on the very top ridge so I asked them to make them a little shorter, Instead they just made them wider and now they are too loose. They say they cannot fix that. Dentures can be made wider, but not narrower. I think they should be made over. The entire office staff is very nice, I don't have any complaints about them. But their work is not what I expected for the
($3,000) amount I am having to pay. My bill is down to $1.400, and I am wondering what would happen if I just quit paying on it.

I am not fond of the dentist and had anxiety going to my first appointment . The staff made me feel completely comfortable and explained each procedure and the cost. Instead of charging me according to the Patient Charge Schedule(PCS), they have been charging me 3 to 4 times the amount I should pay. Although I have the dental office manager in agreement with me, neither she nor I can seem to get billing to update their records and charge me the correct amounts. 32. I have been a patient with my local Aspen Dental office for over 2 years. Recently I developed a tooth ache. I called the office, was on hold for over 8 minutes. When I finally spoke with scheduler she told me the first available appointment would be 2 weeks from today. I said "I can't wait that long." Well too bad that is all there is available. One of our dentist is on vacation but she would put me on the list if there is a cancelation in the later that morning the pain was getting worse. I called again. Waited on hold for 17 minutes only to be told that they could not take me in as an emergency. So I called my insurance company and changed my provider to another dentist who would see me as an emergency patient in 30 minutes. Moral of the story is cancel Aspen Dental and find a different dentist.

Or so,or I can come up with$500. More and they'll make me a permanent partial.they talked me into this now I feel like I'm being bullied into having to spend more money or having no front teeth.

  36. I saw ad on TV for Aspen Dental so I thought I'd go and get a exam to see about a partial to replace some missing lower teeth. After the exam the dentist suggest I get all my teeth pulled and get dentures as I also was having bone loss. He made it sound so sensible and i agreed ..I had them pulled . I got temporary dentures and went back a couple of times because of readjustments.I heard the dentist didnt work there anymore when I asked to speak to him.. I upgraded my dentures and bought the comfylites because they said I would have free office visit and no charge for adjustment and ect. I paid $3,844.15 for the total bill. I went back one time and they put some liner on the lower plate as my gum had shrunk.. ! year later (last week) I went back because my lower plate was very loose again. I went to make the appointment and was told it would cost me $600.00 to reline it. I was shocked . All I wanted was some liner stuff to make them tighter. I didnt think I was to be charged. The office girl gave me so stupid reason why it cost that much. I was so mad I told them I should have spent my money at Clear Choice and got permanate teeth in. I now wish I had never went to Aspen Dental in Owensboro KY. But I am not thru.. I am contacting their headquarters. and find out about the price they want..

  38. I went to Aspen Dental in Michigan City, Indiana to have two teeth pulled. All was fine until I tried to pick up my pain medication at my CVS on Franklin Street, Michigan City, IN. The Aspen Dental office in Michigan City, IN called my pain medication to CVS in Franklin, Indiana. This is a 4 hour drive from where I live. I have tried to call the emergency number but received no answer after 3 calls. I called Aspen Dental and again requested my medication. I was told it had been called in. CVS did not have the prescription. I again called Aspen Dental and was told they would call it in again. They did not and I am tired of playing this game with them. Aspen Dental has lost my business. The emergency line got no results until about about 9 pm -- 4 hours after my appointment. I cannot eat, sleep or work. This is bull. Also the sign on the Aspen door states they were open until 8 pm. At 6 they were already closed.

  39. My experience with Aspen Dental was not a good one. When I was there having a fitting and having some teeth filled the dentist was more interested in the ball game on the television than in the job he was doing. Also the money back guarantee is a sham. I had my refund money sent back to the company that held my money at the time. The money was refunded back to the card which had expired. Aspen was aware that the card had expired but still chose to return the money back on the card. I lost all of my money. I am a senior citizen and got ripped off. The company has found a legal way to take money from someone and not be accountable. The company is putting up new sites all over the place. They are paying for it with my money and the money of all the people they have ripped off. They should be closed down.

Ripping people off is how they operate. If they offer you a payment plan they don't tell you it doesn't cover anyone else but you. Terrible communication and treatment of their customers. I called the satisfaction dedication line and they could have cared less. Do yourself a favor and never go to Aspen Dental.

  43. I went to Aspen Dental for partials. They were highly recommended. I have had partials made for over 40 years and never had a problem till aspen dentist. they didn't fit had to be sent back and remade, then they still didn't fit. after 5 weeks of adjustments, sore spots, bleeding gums, etc. the lab tech tells me there really isn't much more they can do and admitted that they were not sitting right or fitting right. after speaking to the dentist she agreed and then sat me down with the office manager to issue me a full refund. 24 to 48 hours they stated. its over a week and nothing. i tried to contact corporate and nothing my dental insurance tried to contact them and nothing. not only am i waiting for a refund my dental coverage is waiting for them to pull the claim so i can go elsewhere. i called the office where i go and they said its out of their hands and all refunds and claims are handled by corporate. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO DO BUSINESS. They have a full money back guarantee and ll kinds of advertisements about it but im still waiting and cannot go to another dentist till they cancel out my claim with my insurance. DO NOT USE ASPEN DENTAL!

  44. Local Aspen Dental office, Carrollton, GA 30117 ----- will not work with you to get insurance coverage claim paid. Make you pay up front, cash your check, delay their work, spread out over months, but do not file claim appropriately and you only find out when your insurance company (CIGNA DENTAL) TELLS YOU they can't pay because Aspen refuses to allow you to be assigned to that office because Corp. (Aspen) has a cap on number of clients at the local office you are using. Aspen local says they have done what is needed to get you added, but Aspen Corporate has not done their part in contacting Cigna to confirm. ALL A BUNCH OF B.S....should have been done within a few days; now more than 5 months and nothing has been done to resolve the issue. VERY POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS / SERVICE.........Been a CIGNA customer for years and never had a problem with previous dental services......WHAT IS GOING ON AT ASPEN CORPORATE (and/or local Aspen office)?? !!!!!!!

I wish I had read these comments prior to my visit. I had a terrible experience with Aspen Dental of Cleveland TN. I made an appointment on August 14th 2015, to have an impression for bottom dentures. Aspen took the money to do the exam, exray and plate. I was scheduled on August 24th for removal of 6 front teeth and to put in a bottom plate. Al of course had to be paid up front. Needless to say I was very disappointed in my denture, 1st on was so out of line I had an underbite (I have Never had one) and wearing it caused much pain in my jaw, so another dentist stepped in to redo the plate and this one had a HOLE and hollow teeth in the bottom plate. All the while one spot on my gum was still white and very tender to the touch, So wearing the denture was IMPOSSIBLE. I requested an exray 3x and Aspen refused, I was released on Dec. 21st 2015 with shabby work and dentures I couldn't wear. Now 8 months later I had saved money to go to another dentist, a local dentist with a private practice, The first thing he did was an exray. Aspen had left a Tooth in my gum and that was why it wouldn't heal and had infection pockets for 8 months. I took my receipt from last dentist to Aspen in Cleveland TN. To show where I had to go to another dentist to remove a tooth that Aspen should have removed since they had got paid for it. They were so rude, Called me a Liar and said I was making it up. The office manager was the rudest, Oh my I told him he needed to find another job. I have since sued Aspen Dental and actually won my case, Now they refuse to pay and are looking for loopholes to get out of Judges orders. I am fed up with the Aspen Nightmare. Cause that is Exactly what it is a NIGHTMARE. They do not do nothing but take your money, Aspen workers are Rude to the customers and I would not recommend Aspen to anyone. STAY AWAY FROM ASPEN DENTAL, If you want the work you pay for.

  46. Aspen Dental Oxford AL huge disappointment, make you sign a contract up front and you agree to a price, you pay up front, then they take over a year and a half to deliver you permanent dentures and try to double bill your insurance, they also tack on charges for things you never were made aware of that at the end they want to charge you extra for...EXTREMELY dishonest! I can't wear the dentures I want my $5900.00 back!

  47. I was not impressed with the service I received. I called to make an appt. to have a tooth pulled because I had had a toothache for 3 days that radiated into my ear and was causing a headache. My appt. was scheduled for 1pm. Upon arrival, I was x-rayed and examined and measured and explained that my tooth was infected and needed to come out. He also explained what other courses of action he wanted to take. (Which included cleaning and maybe a filling) I was then directed to financing to discuss coverage and payment. (which included a possible root canal that I did not know about and a partial.) I told them just to pull the tooth. I was then told that they were getting ready to go to lunch so I would have to come back later. (2 hours later) What doctor stops in the middle of an appt. to go to lunch?? Poor patient care. Then after the extraction, I was not given an antibiotic for the infection. I was told the doctor did not prescribe any type of pain medication other than Motrin, but since I had Tylenol and ibuprofen at home, did I really need it. I will not visit Aspen Dental in Peoria IL again.

NO ONE CALLED AND AFTER MUTIPLE CALLS I FINALLY GOT A DATE FOR HER SURGERY TO BE TOLD THEY WOOULDNT KNOW A TIME UNTIL A FEW DAYS BEFORE AND WOULD CALL. THE FIRST APT FOR THE SURGERY I HAD TO CALL THE MAIN HEADQUARTERS TO FIND OUT THE EVENING BEFORE WHAT TIME HER SURGERY WAS BECAUSE NO ONE CALLED THEN EITHER. 54. Aspen Dental tried to rip me off of $700, but I caught them. If was the billing office that sold me on an upgraded finish of my dentures. (TOOK FOUR WEEKS --- NOT TWO DAYS !!!) I paid for the upgrade and questioned the dentist and the person taking impressions . . . they both replied that the final finish would happen prior to the final adjustments. The final adjustments took place with the standard finish on the plates. I went into the accounting office and she played me like she did not know what I was talking about. I brought in the dentist and he played dumb. So, I got the templates that the accounting person showed me during the initial conference with her and THEY WERE CAUGHT. Refunded me $700 on the spot. THEY ARE RUDE. THEY ARE A SCAM ARTISTS. NEVER, NEVER USE ASPEN DENTAL !!!!!!! I ONLY HOPE THIS SAVES ANYONE READING THIS OF THE GREAT "Aspen Scam."

  55. April 27,2017 Aspen Dental sw 3rd okc,ok everyone in the office was very nice Dr Ryan started pulling my Husbands teeth, he had to have all of them pulled because they were all infected, this is a very nice dentist. Dr Ryan pulled the bottom and told my Husband he was going to let him relax before he pulled the top. We were communicating with my Husband squeezing my hand I would tell the Dr when he would squeeze my hand and he ask Ed if he could still feel it and he would make a noise. That`s how he knew he wasn`t all the way numb. He said when he came back he would have to add more medicine to finish numbing the top.He left and here comes this lady in the room and started getting tools in her hand and jabbing them in Ed`s mouth and he was squeezing my hand and I told the lady which we didn`t know who she was, just rude that Ed was squeezing my hand which meant he wasn`t numb,I told her the other Dr said he was going to have to numb him some more before he started pulling the top and she said very rude are you his Wife and i said yes ma`am and she said very rude again i`ve been doing this for 30 years and i don`t need your input very rude in front of all in the room, her name was Dr Jones and my Husband said he did not want her touching him again because she was very rough and he didn`t like the way she talked to me.when she got through coming in, broke 1 or 2 teeth, being rude and told Dr Ryan he could finish up meaning he was going to have to dig out those broken tooth.when Dr Ryan found out why i was so upset he was appolizing for dr jones actions the lady that was dr jones aid agreed when i told him how rude she was. I called for a follow up and a lady was there by the name of Hillary is suppose to be the district manager I told her what happened, she said she was glad i told her about how Dr Jones treated my Husband and i and i told her we didn`t pay $5100.00 to come in here to be rude to and she said i understand i don`t blame you, she said i notice he has an appt. tomorrow at 2;30 and i said yes and she said we will talk some more when you get here and i said ok, we checked in and waited to see her, she left and haven`t seen or heard from her. I don`t see where anyone has said they have heard from corporate on any of these complaints so why do they have a complaint line.

I am a veteran and when Aspen Dental offered their free dental day on June 24, 2017 I took the time to call the 800 number and right off the bat after the gentleman ask for my zip code and he would locate a office near me, he came up with Oxford, AL entire other state from me, again I told him I was in the Atlanta area and he again searched and said he had one opening left in the Cartersville, GA office which about 20 minutes from me. I made the appointment for 12:30 Pm on June 24th and all was good I had cancelled other appointments I had including a wedding that I was to attend. All went well until yesterday June 8, 2017 I received a text to call Aspen Dental at a local number. I called and the lady stated the appointment time was cancelled for that day because there would not be a dentist there on that day. I asked what happened she gave no reason except that there would be no doctor in that day. I asked her what about the other veterans that was to be there and she said that they cancelled them too what a crock I called the Corp offices and finally after two days I got a call from Heather the Regional manager and she said they had to cancel all the Cartersville and Kennesaw offices because there is no doctor in them on the weekends then why did they schedule them in the first place. she said she work me in at Rome or Dalton which is even further away from me and if I have any work done or extractions who is going to drive me home since I have to no transportation to get there. Just another screw the veteran group.

  70. In December 2017, advertisement banners on the front of the local Aspen office clearly say that your first visit is free. Nope. Not true.

Not if you have insurance coverage. They hide that fact from you until after they have performed x-rays and such. Before I went to the

office I phoned the office to verify with them to be sure that which I saw on their front window ad banners was actually true. Yes, the

phone rep said, the first visit is free. I get to the place? They want insurance information. I trust them at this point. I give them

information. They say they will do x-rays. I say, are these free? Yes. They say, the x-rays are free with the free initial consultation visit.

But wait. Hear this. After the x-rays are performed, the employee says, well, since you are insured, we are bound by law to submit these

charges to your insurance company. What? Bound by what law, I ask? (Those of you reading this know there is no such law.) I then

make reference to the huge ad banner in the waiting room and in their front window. It says free. They then point to a smaller placard

sitting on a side desk in a corner of the waiting room. They then rotate that placard so we can see the fine print on that one placard in the

wiaitng room indicating it may not be free if you have insurance. Why did they have to be so sneaky? Free is free. Why do they disguise

"free" in a bait and switch contrived through a painfully fraudulent snag? Now, I'm scared and feeling quite violated and vulnerable. I

can't trust these caregivers. I am now afraid of them. I have barely been in their treatment areas for 10 minutes and they are already

spewing lies at me. So, at this point I demand they clear their computers of all my records. For me, it was a terrible visit and ,yet, I am

glad I found out how they operate long before I got hooked into a gigantic bill. And I am glad that I was exposed to the horrible conditions

that caused me to veer away from their dental care personnel becuase I think I have been spared the likelyhood of misdiagnoses,

amalgamated untruths, and a general assault upon my well being and my finances.

They told how they would resolve the problem , I payed the charge of $190.00, they kept her plate overnight and when we returned the next day her plate was worst then before they worked on it.I told the denist that was unacceptable , she left the room without and explanation then the manager came in and said their was not anything they could or would do.
I asked for a refund and she smiled at me and said they did what I asked for. She was disrespectful and loud and she talked down to us because we were old.
We will never go to or recommended Aspen Dental.

  75. Do not recommend to anybody to use Aspen Dental. The staff in administration area in Hinesville is not very friendly and they will tell you lies in a heartbeat. First of all I was told by the hygienist that everything she is getting ready to do on me is covered by my insurance. Then I was told after I kept getting bills that all my claims were processed and my insurances( I have two) did not pay.I received bills I should have never had to pay. Because I changed Dental Office I found out that none of my nor my husbands claims were submitted and the one they had submitted were not paid because they did not send the requested documentation back to the Insurance there fore no payments. Stay away from Aspen Dental!!!!!!!

  76. I am horrified to see all of these bad reviews. Aspen dental charged me nearly $3000.00 and only filed a couple of claims with my insurance co resulting in me only owing about $600.00 OOP. Its been almost a year and they still cannot seem to get the rest of my claims filed(BTW there is a 180 day timely filing limit) OR give me a refund. I call these people at least once a week and still get the same response... nothing! This is at the Sherman, TX Office

  77. This last comment above mine is exactly what happened to me at the Belle Isle location in Oklahoma City. I sat down with the insurance lady twice and was assured that they had checked with my insurance and everything they were going to do would be covered 100% by my insurance. It wasn't. I received a bill in the mail and called the office. I was told by one of the office staff that there was a "glitch" and there were several patients charged $128.00 recently who shouldn't have been charged and that they were going to write off the charges. I received another bill after that but thought it had come to me in between my conversation with them and the days that passed. Now I've received a Collection Notice!!!! I called the office again and both staff, Melody first and then Jennifer, were less than helpful and kept repeating the same sentence no matter what I told them...."Your insurance says its your responsibility".
Well, when a dentist completes x-rays that are only supposed to be completed once every 3 years but says they checked to make sure everything is covered and it's not.....my insurance denied that line of service, of course!!!!
This charge should definitely be absorbed by the office as they were negligent in doing their job properly.
Your company page has the following listed:
    No Surprises
Your Aspen Dental practice will provide a clear, detailed estimate on the cost of your treatment plan in writing so you know what to expect.
****this did not happen in my case as I was told twice that my insurance would 100% cover everything being completed that day!

    Peace of Mind Promise
Your Aspen Dental practice will do everything possible to make sure you have the best experience possible. That means first-class dentists, a friendly, judgment-free staff, and a promise that they’ll always do right by you. It also means no hidden fees or inflated pricing. When you’re a patient of an Aspen Dental practice, everything—and everyone—is taken care of.
****again, this did not happen in my case! I have not had the best experience and there are clearly "hidden" fees as I was told my insurance was covering everything being done to me that day.

There's a good reason why you probably won't receive a teeth cleaning at your first appointment: Each new patient relationship often starts with an initial exam so your dental team can understand your needs and concerns first, then tailor your hygiene treatment to you. This way, you’ll get the most out of your cleaning appointments and the time and attention you deserve.
****well I DID get my teeth cleaned the first visit and no one mentioned anything about the clinics preference to complete x-rays and an exam first and a cleaning at a separate appointment.

There are actually more details. More than I care to write here. None of them good. This has been the worst experience with a dentist office I have ever had.

  78. I'm monitoring my mother's dental account with Aspen. She started going to the Parma, Ohio office in February 2018. She was treated well but I am unable to view the services and charges on line that she has incurred. The feature is there, but I am unable to access it. I called the office, but they cannot help me. I tried to call the Corporate Office, but I got no help and was routed back to the Parma Ohio office, where I got no where on this issue. My mother had a follow up visit yesterday, 4/19. There was a credit on her account for ($102.00). The credit was all I could view on her on-line account for several weeks. Prior to her visit, I called the office asking if she owed anything for her upcoming visit. The manager said "no" because there is a $102.00 credit. After her visit, the office told her that she did not owe anything. I pulled up her account today on-line and now there is a $157.00 charge with no explanation. I contacted the office manager and was told that the charge for yesterday's visit was $259.00 and the credit of $102.00 was applied leaving a balance of $157.00. So how did her account go from not owing anything with a credit balance to all of a sudden money due but she was told that she didn't owe anything. I tried to explain this to the Corporate office but they put me on hold and then routed me back to the Parma Office and the manager said that she has to review my mother's account. She already reviewed it when I spoke to her 15 minutes earlier. Basically you get a round around with Aspen Dental and random charges appear on your account and you have no idea what they are for. The office manager said that what I am asking for is a ledger and I have to come into the office and physically get one. If that is true, then why doesn't her statements or charges or services show up electronically when I select "statements" for the past year? No one at the home office will assist with this question. In summary, random charges appear electronically and you have no idea why and cannot get a clear explanation. And if you get an explanation, that explanation will change again when you call back and ask the same question - you get a complete run around. I will encourage my mother to return to a private dentist where she will have a good grasp of her financial obligations and necessary treatment.

  79. Questionnable billing practices and electronic account statements. My mother began going to Aspen Dental Parma Ohio Office in February 2018. She was treated well, but there is confusion with the billing practices especially on-line. After making the initial payments and I was able to obtain a detailed statement in person, I set up an electronic account where I can monitor her visits and charges/credits. A credit of ($102) appeared for several weeks after her initial visit. She had a follow up visit yesterday and I contacted the office manager a few weeks ago asking if my mother owed anything, and was told "no" because a credit was on her account. My mother went to her visit yesterday and was told that she did not owe anything. Today, when I checked her account on-line a $157.00 charge appeared with no explanation. I called the office and was told that the charge for yesterday's visit was $259.00 and the credit of $102.00 was applied and $157.00 remained. When I pressed further for a better explanation of why I was not told this before when I inquired, and why I couldn't see this on-line, I got nowhere. I called the main office and they could not help me either especially with the on-line viewing of statements which doesn't work for me, and was routed back to the Parma Ohio office and spoke to the same person and now she said that she has to review my mother's account. She already reviewed my mother's account 15 minutes earlier. In summary, random charges appear on my mother's electronic account with no explanation, and I am unable to view the statement feature. You get nowhere with the office staff and no help with the main office. I was told if I want a complete ledger (summary of all charges) I have to physically come into the office to ask for one. Basically, watch what they are charging you. Random charges all of a sudden appear without an explanation and when you ask for an explanation, you get different answers.

  80. i would not recommend aspen to any one made a fake partial will not stay in 600.00 and now my teeth are breaking due to I cant wear it was a sad time there and wasted thousands of dollars for nothing and charging more then the bill was I heard there is a law suit against them trying to get my money back so I can redo what they did wrong) :

  81. I went to the Plymouth Mass office and they are the worst. Everything about the lies they tell you and how once they get the money they have little patients with fixing their mistakes. I went to have two teeth pulled one that broke and the other one was louse. I already had a partial plate which was made so more teeth could be added if needed. They told me I had to have all my teeth on the top removed and a full plate made. The plate they made was way to big and would not even stay up unless I used an entire tub of Fixodent to hold it up and it was ripping apart the back of my mouth. I went there and told them that the bit was wrong and the plate to big. I was told that I didn't know what I was talking about that the bit was adjusted correctly. I was in such pain and have to work so I went to a dental lab and explained everything to them about the bit being off and the plate being to big and was told I was right. They fixed the plate which I paid for out of pocket after being charged almost 5 thousand from Aspen. I called them to get my money back and was given an amount that would be credited to me but I had to have the card that was charge back so they would credit it back. So I called back with the card information and was then told that I could not be refunded because the work was already done. They kept contradicting everything the said to me. I am now fighting to get my money back and will be calling the Insurance company also so they can go after them to get what they paid out back along with filing a complaint with the Attorney General's Office. I will let everyone know DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL they are a business that just goes after money and everyone that goes there is told they need work done that is $5000.00 or more and run it like an assembly line. I have heard nothing good about them and wish I had that information before I went.

  82. I will NEVER go back to Aspen! They did mini-dental implants on me; it took 32 visits to get done what should have been 10-12. I had to do re-dos 3 times, and once more when they actually broke the teeth in a machine. I had a hygentist put someone else's dentures in my mouth by mistake! Gross! I was an emotional wreck by the time it was over. The bottom dentures had patchwork done before I even got them as I can feel and see where it had broken. Now, after 3 years, the bottom denture broke in half! I went to get an "emergency" appointment and was told I'd have to wait 3 weeks (unless they had a cancellation). As with so many people above, I feel they are (1) in it for the money; (2) have incompetent, untrained staff; (3) they don't care; and (4) they overbook. So, I can't wait to see them to find out if I had to pay for these, since I was told I had a 7 year warranty.

  83. Aspen Dental Continues to Cause Pain
THEY HAVE HIRED AN ATTORNEY, AND HAVE DEMANDED THAT OUR WEBSITES BE REMOVED AND THAT AN AGREEMENT IS REACHED TO SETTLE WITH RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS WITHIN X AMOUNT OF DAYS. ASPEN DENTAL CORP OFFICE REACHED OUT LAST MONTH AND IN THAT CALL THEY WERE INFORMED THAT THIS VICTIM IS DISABLED AND POOR. THEY WERE MADE AWARE THAT PAIN IS STILL PRESENT, TREATMENT IS STILL IN PROCESS AND THAT THERE IS AN OPEN CASE WITH THE STATE DENTISTRY BOARD. THEY STILL THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO INTIMIDATE TO FORCE A SETTLEMENT BEFORE ALL INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE REGARDING THE HARM THEY INFLICTED TO THIS VICTIM. INSTEAD OF FAIRLY SETTLING A CLAIM, THEY WILL SUE YOU. ASPEN DENTAL THIS WILL BE GOING VIRAL; MORE TO COME!

  85. I'm so done with Aspen Dental Holland Michigan. They have tried to screw us by double billing, overcharging, and inadequate service. My wife and I both have used their services this year. Neither one of us is very happy with the results. My wife is now having issues with her teeth that she never had prior to going to Aspen. We have both been lied to. Aspen does not stand behind their word about making sure you are 100% satisfied or your money back. I would even settle for just do the job right the first time. I have never been so disappointed with a dental service. I think me and my wife will definitely go back to a private dentist service. I called today because one of the teeth in my bottom plate just fell out. I just received it about 3 or 4 weeks ago. What the heck, how cheap is that!! Then I'm told to come in and drop it off. What the heck? I work and hour away. I don't know how many times I have to tell them that it's not that easy to do. Every time I schedule I have to tell them again. They are supposed to be open until 7pm today. However, when I told them I would leave work early and be there between 5:00/5:30, the receptionist said that the lab tech said they were not taking any more repairs today. They said I could drop them off in the morning. That's exactly what I want to do. Go to work without my teeth. That's not a good idea for a Quality Engineer. Especially when I meet with various people on a daily basis. I'm so done with you Aspen. Never again will I be duped into believing your lies.

  86. Keep having bad experiences with them. Even though the people are nice during the time of your appointment, they put other serious matters on hold sometimes. And sometimes don't get back to you, that includes if you call their emergency services line to have a dentist call you. Their emergency services line sucks. When calling the corporate office to complain you are directed to patient services, but patient services people are only there a few SHORT hours of the day. These Aspen Dental websites only post the good reviews on their sites. But there are bad reviews on them all across the internet. The only way you are put first and treated like somebody is during an appointment. At all other times, your situation is put on hold or not even answered at all. And don't expect to eat anything, including something as simple as pudding, when first getting your immediate dentures. I am so swollen up that no matter how they adjust them, I can't eat anything with them in and they sit crooked. I have been expected to continue to deal with that until some of the swelling goes down so they can adjust it better, but in the meantime I have to eat. So the dentures are out of my mouth most of the time so I can talk better and eat, even if I still have to eat soft food, at least I can eat it. Even with them dentures in I couldn't even do that. Don't rely on these people for your care. But I am sure if you made a few hundred thousand dollars a year that they probably would put you first.

And if you have major work done to you, such as pulling half your teeth out, make sure you ask for someone with a few years of experience in doing it as the guy who did mine looked really young and needed the more experienced dentist to come and help him extract some of the harder teeth he had a harder time with.

  87. Have been seeing Dr. Marvin Chan on som. center road in Mayfield Hts. Ohio since mid-January of this year. I hate dentist!!! But having to go to one, I went to Dr. Chan. He is marvelous. The nicest, caring man ever. A real sweet heart. He explained everything what he was going to do, how he would do it and what to expect to feel. Best dentist ever. Even the whole crew at the office was so nice, understanding.

  88. My husband also made the mistake using Aspen in Martinsburg,wv. Have been waiting for over 2 months for arefund of over 500.00 for billed teeth that were NOT pulled. They keep saying the refund will come from headquarters in NY,but we are just going to get a lawyer involved to get our money back. I agree NEVER NEVER NEVER use aspen, they are the worst, and will get very rude when questioned about billing.
