I’ve been shopping at Price Chopper for many years (it’s the closest store for me) I recently noticed you are looking for an Assistant Manager, and I have some observations for you to consider when selecting a candidate. Maybe a little more attentive to detail and the consumer is in order.

First, the store has a great front end, the employees are always polite, greet you, and end with a parting gesture. Below are some of the small details that are overlooked but noticeable to the consumer.

*There is continuously no staffing in the seafood department, you need to go to the meat department for help. It would be helpful if there was a sign to tell consumers this. I’ve seen countless people walk away because they weren’t being helped and didn’t know they needed to go to another department for assistance.

*When you do go to the meat department for assistance, their music is playing loudly and they don’t even know you’re there. I’ve waited up to 10 minutes to be noticed and helped.

*The shopping carts are sometimes still in the carousels and not brought back to the store entrance. I heard an elderly woman once ask for a cart and was told they were located in the carousel, instead of getting one for her.

*I’ve seen a gentleman working in the produce department removing strawberries and blueberries that were past their prime from the containers, not wearing gloves, and not replacing what was disposed of. I get it from a cost-effective standpoint but this should be done off the department floor in the back. As a consumer, would you like to pay for a product that is not all there?

*The pizza department has individuals who shout and complain about their co-workers, they complain about who didn’t do their job and who they don’t like. The consumer doesn’t need to hear this.

*Manager skills 101, never discipline an employee in front of customers, there’s a place for that.

In conclusion, I would hope that the candidate you choose can make an impact on changing behaviors and paying more attention to consumer needs and expectations.

I live in Granville New York. Over the past eight years, I have watched our Price Chopper in our community sell molded produce, rotten meat, and price gauge like I have never seen before. I have had enough. Going forward I will start taking pictures of the rotten, moldy food and calling the health department. As far as the price gauging goes, I am going to compare your prices to other places in our area and start posting your outrageous prices online. As a corporation, your GREED is ENOUGH!

Price Chopper House Calls being understaffed is not a good thing. It creates stress on your employees and can lead to mistakes on how drugs are dispense. So please take a long at your facilities.

You folks need to investigate your Sidney NY location. Since the local competitor in that town closed its doors this location has raised product prices as much as 200 percent.

I went there yesterday and couldn’t believe what I saw. Almonds $15 – lettuce heads $4 Salad dressing $4 – cooking oil $7! -I was appalled.

It literally took me 20 mins to find a single product under $1 -I have never seen a store do this before -They kept the circular prices intact and raised every other product by at least a dollar.

This used to be my favorite grocer ..If something doesn’t change soon – I’ll never shop there again. Three generations of stores at this location -and I can say it’s at its worst ..Sad
