  1. The situation below happened while members of the Falls View Hose Brigade were shopping for 29 disadvantaged families for our annual Christmas basket give away, sadly!
I know this is a little late, but for those of you who don’t know we are boycotting the Food Basics on McLeod Road. Tell all your family
and friends to do the same. We went to do our Xmas basket shopping there as per the norm and we ran into an unpleasant and rude store manager. We purchased about 4 full buggies worth of food and were going back in for more, he came up to us and told us the store limit was 8 per item. We explained the situation that we were doing this for charity and are making Xmas food basket to donate to needy families which we do every year. He told us that he didn’t care and the limit was 8 and if we didn’t like it then go elsewhere, we told him that we shop there personally as well, but he didn’t seem to give a shit. He then wrote down Dale’s license plate number and told us that we are on private property and were no longer welcome at the store. Needless to say, we went to No Frills on the lane and they were more than willing to make exceptions and help us fulfill our shopping list. So please spread the word, the guy is an Asshole and doesn’t deserve our business and money.. as a customer that spends a lot of money in your chains I fine this manger should be seriously fired for this teriible situation when I heard this story I was appalled its not like he was donateing or paying for anything terrible terrible

  2. I have relocated recently from Ontario to Fredericton, New Brunswick. I noticed that there are no Food Basics stores in the province of New Brunswick. The grocery market is controlled by expensive chains such as Loblaws, Sobeys and Walmart. I say expensive because when I lived in Ontario I did the majority of my grocery shopping at Food Basics. If I were to have shopped at either of the 3 other chains I previously mentioned I would have spent $1500 to $2000 per year more on groceries. Why has Food Basics not established itself in New Brunswick ? Food Basics would be a godsend to the people here where food prices are extremely expensive. With more and more people leaving Ontario for New Brunswick due to Covid-19, Food Basics would succeed big-time in the province of New Brunswick.
