    1. The Dollar General on HWY 331 in Defuniak Springs are not doing their employees correctly. I know that there is one employee that is there 6 to 7 nights. When I go in, I say you are working again. Politely she says yes I am. She never complains, but she is so young to be working every day. Not from her but two other employees have stated that they are constantly being called in. The store manager, Sandy has quit several times but keeps coming back. She is only working 2 days a week. How can you be a store manager if you only work 2 days. A store manager should be pulling their own weight when it comes to a job, but the employees are pulling more of the weight than her.

This store needs to be looked at BIG time. Sandy and Kathy need to be evaluated and if those two have that strong of a bond and friendship that Kathy cannot put Sandy in her place, then the whole store needs to be evaluated.

Steven, Johnathan, and Kaitlyn are doing amazing job running that store. Those are the employees that are in there almost all the time.

  2. If it says sale you better check the receipt. Not updating the POS system to weekly specials may make a few bucks in the short term but will destroy bottom line and your growth. Over charging me and asking me to wait in a 20 min line again is crazy. When I asked for a mgr. she said I am the manager store 14917 in Covington La. is unsupervised and in a small community and word of mouth travels fast this could be a problem. I am suggesting to friends not to ask for a refund of the difference but all of their money back. If you are going to wait 40 min. return your thaughed food and go somewhere else. There is a Family Dollar being built and small grocery soon to open so...

  3. You keep building new stores on every corner in every town but you better learn HOW to treat your customers before you end up bankrupt! I was in my local Dollar General this past weekend and was very upset about an incident that happened to me. I bought a pack of cigarettes for my son, went to give them to him and he said I got menthol instead of regular, so I took them right back and asked to exchange the pack for the regular type. Same brand, same price, unopened package, still sealed and same cashier who KNEW I had just purchased them. She told me they can't exchange them, it's store policy! Are you kidding me??!! I had JUST bought them and SHE gave me the wrong ones. I didn't ask for menthol and with me not being a smoker, I didn't know the green line on them meant they were menthol. So now I'm stuck with them at almost $6.00 a pack???! How rude is that? A little customer satisfaction goes a LONG way when you're in retail business!!! People who followed me outside said they couldn't believe they acted like that and wouldn't exchange them. People are seeing how rude and inconsiderate your employees are being because you have such unreasonable policies they have to follow. Go ahead and keep doing this and some day you'll be clear out of business and customers who will tolerate it! I won't shop any of your stores anymore!

  4. Manager at your store 7998 is never there when you need her. She only works a couple hours a day. She has people help with deliveries that dont work for DG and pays them with product form the store. I have watched this happen. Was told does no use to complain because she is the district managers favorite. The cashiers there do almost all the work. They are really over worked its a shame that you treat them that way.

  5. Concerning the store # 06739 at 1637 Navajo Blvd Holbrook, AZ 86025. A serious complaint against "IRMA", an employee, she is very rude verbally, unfriendly, attitude is all wrong for the job. Not sure if she is manager or not. On 2 different shopping visits " IRMA" was verbally rude to me for no reason.

  7. Would like to make a suggestion for placement of store on highway 75 in Abingdon, Va. It is in the Green Springs area near the Lake. There is lots of lake traffic and 1 small store. A general store market would be wonderful as the area is heavily populated especially because of its close proximity to the Lake. It would save us from having to drive into town for many things. This would be a good investment for Dollar General and very helpful to patrons in this area. Thanks for your consideration.

  8. I am sick of this store # 13189,it's hard enough raising kids with morals these days without something at the store dressing like a man one day and a woman the next,
then coming in looking a little like both some days it is both disgusting and nasty,
this is SC not California! Try explaining that to a 6 year old! I can take the racist attitudes but I don't believe God made any mistakes and I'll drive the ten miles to get to another store before I'll let someone make a mockery of him! I'm going to start talking with the rest of the community I don't believe they like it either! That store number is 13189,maybe if we quit bringing money they will either change or
    go home!

  9. I would like to talk with someone from the corporate office about my daughter who is a manager at a Dollar General here in Toledo,Ohio. She was working at the store at 828 Phillips Ave.(Toledo) for a while. The things that she had to endure were terrible. She was threatened, harassed daily by customers, her car was keyed and she has been assaulted numerous times. Now she was moved to another store in a terrible neighborhood and it has become more dangerous for her there. A customer has threatened to come back with a gun and shoot her head off. My daughter in a single mom trying to make ends meet. She likes the job all except for those things. Why can't you just shut down these stores if they are that dangerous? I fear for my daughter's life [email protected]

  11. This Dollar General is within my area and I have been shopping here for years. 2251 US Highway 13 N . When this store received new management a while back of Store Manager and Assistant Manager; I observed some changes. Currently, almost every time I go to shop in this store the Managers seem to be throwing a private party they are standing around laughing and talking and even have their friends or other customers beside them doing the same thing. The managers including others who talk with them are talking badly about people, employees and other things. The managers are very unprofessional this has become a low level store. I no longer enjoy the shopping experience. The managers play like children. I walked into the store one day to loud talking, laughing, inappropriate conversations. I thought it was children until I saw who it was. The management here is sorry, poorly trained and stupid. I drive a few miles away from my house to another dollar general it's a totally different environment once I enter the store.

  12. the dollar general needs to do something the police are there 2 or more times a day and the homeless that shop there are being arrest for walking in or though the parking lot or just being in the parking lot some have been accuse of shop lifting and have nothing on them and are still arrest and also accuse of pan handling with someone just give them money without them asking.the store is right down the road from the project and three homeless camps

  13. This concerns the store at 1214 W.Capitol St. in Jackson,Ms. this store has really gone down hill. It used to be nice and clean and well stocked but not now,and the frozen food is out of date. I bought some frozen dinners that were so old that they were spoiled and had mildew on then. Someone from Corporate needs to pay this store a surprise visit and find out what problem is.

  14. I love Dollar General and feel it serves a very unique purpose in the community. It is not the grocery store, a department store, Lowes or Home Depot or a drug store, but rather a quick stop most items we all need everyday. After work I can run in and get milk, bread, coffee, eggs and bacon and not have to stand in long lines to get checked out. I also stop by Dollar General to pick up paper goods and cleaning supplies, greeting cards so as to not spend a fortune at the grocery. It is a comfortable store, easy to find things and they are not always changing locations of items. It is set up in a very logical way and I make my list according to that layout. Now that it is spring, potting soil and charcoal, ice are things we all need and on the spur of the moment - again easy to find, purchase and go on about your task. It is possible they may need more labor help when the delivery truck comes, but it is worth the small inconvenience of boxes in the aisle to be able to find most everything I need and spend a lot less money.
    Thanks Dollar General!

    1. I have to disagree, evertime I stop I have to wait in long lines if they have what I need most of the time my 4 stores that is close to me never have what I need and all have long lines when I am walking out the door I can see the lines. DG does not have enough employees. The store with down the road from where I live had to shut down for 3 days because of no help. Most stores all dirty and stock all in the isles to where you cant even get down the rows to shop.

  16. I went online to your website to order some paper goods as I am disabled and did not wish to fight the crowds in the stores. I ordered 4 (In Stock)items and paid with my bank card. I received a reply saying they would email me with tracking info when it had shipped.Six days later, not having received acknowledgement that it had been shipped, I emailed customer service at the website and informed them that I could not wait any longer for them to ship my order and told them to cancel the order and please refund my money. I received an answer on the same day (03/28) stating that it was impossible for them to cancel my order once I had placed it, except to wait for the order to ship, wait to receive it, and then go through the refund process and pay to ship it back.

  18. Went into the Smith Center Kansas store and was disgusted by the condition of the store. This is not the way to present a place of business. The floor was dirty, stocking carts all over the store with no one stocking any shelves. There was three of them in one aisle with no way to get to any of the merchandise but to move them out of the way. I've never seen this store in such a mess. Embarrassing DG!

  20. what I want to know is how is it that when someone kinda gets pushed into store manager and is told about a yearly inventory audit2 months before it. then has lazy employee so said person is trying to do it all there plus have trucks coming with more inventory then they have room for and said manager seems to be the only one putting stock out sometimes to we hours in the morning. and she only really gets help when the DM decides to send her some because she cant get people to apply or when she does hire they refuse to work which puts rolltainers in isles because no more can fit in the back room so the MANAGER bust her but to try to empty the rolltaniners but they keep coming. Then the Manager somewhat get the store situated for the inventory/audit so she can collect the Bonus that she has busted her hump for missed out on family life for, planned for Christmas for just to be told that she probably wont get it because it has to be over what it was last year and she wasn't even manager last year is a crock of crap. this is why dollar general will NEVER keep quality employees because they treat them like trash. lord forbid it they keep their promises to their employees at least to the one that actually care for the company and try!!!!!

  22. It is time for a new manager at the store in Millwood WV. They never have anything on the shelves anymore since Diane (I think was her name - she is now in the Ravenswood store). The shelves are more empty than full, stock in the middle of the aisles. That store was a great addition for our little community to begin with but the last several months is a waste of time. I can't think you are making the revenue you used to make! Why would you let this happen? Get someone in that store to run it right before everyone quits going and goes to Ravenswood store or back to Wal-Mart. If I now have to go to town, I will be going to Kroger or Wal-Mart not Dollar General. Wake up!!! Would be a great place to put a stocked store!

  24. I really enjoy shopping at Dollar General. There is a new store within 1 mile of my office and a store close to our new business and home in Jamestown, PA. Although I have never seen My Pillow in any of the stores that I have visited (we also have a home in Florida), I have heard that Dollar General was listed as a business that is wading into the realm of politics by not ordering any of Mike Lindell's products. I would like to know if this is true and if it is, my days of being a Dollar General shopper are over. I will look to see if I get a reply to this.

It's now my go to store! I always went to the one on Airways in Southaven, MS. Lately, it's not open and when it was, it was like a junk shop. Prior to staff leaving, it was great. I don't know if it's closed now or not but I won't bother going there anymore. I'll be hitting the Memphis store on Millbranch from now on.

  26. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED that your company thinks that it can silence people in this great USA! By refusing to sell "MY PILLOW" products you have banded together with other companies that think that they can silence people who want to speak the truth. This is still the USA - NO ONE has the right to tell ANYONE what they can and cannot say here in this country. I know that our wicked government is trying to take this country in this direction but WE THE PEOPLE are in charge, not the government (they work for US, not us for them). It sickens me that now companies that we buy products from think that they can determine what we the citizens of the US can and cannot buy and who we can and cannot support. Any company that wishes to continue to prosper in this great USA will have to stick SOLEY to buying and selling - POLITICS and trying to control WE THE PEOPLE will utterly destroy any of these companies because we do not take kindly to ANYONE thinking they can steal any ONE of our rights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. Though I use to work for DG I was told that if I was to do a survey they call the DM to get my surveys thrown out unless they are ones that are good. I have always been honest and if a store is a complete mess I will call it that and if it is good I do the same. I find this to be completely uncalled for and that makes those surveys not worth anything if they only want to count the good ones. There are many stores that are a complete mess and need some major attention but I guess corporate doesn't want to know that is the case with them.

I refuse to spend my hard earn money and be treated with such total lack of respect. I understand customer service, I taught it. When your employees eat at their station, as they are refusing to assist a paying customer, you have a problem. When your employee insults or mocks a customer, you have a problem. BEST SERVICE EVER AT ANY STORE IN 50 YEARS! No kidding!
Pam Pittman, cashier, at Dollar General Store #11011, 14055 Hwy 11, Campobello, SC 29322-9504 was fantastic!!
As I was shopping all the aisles on a Saturday afternoon, I could hear all of her interactions with customers. She was welcoming to each one, ask how they were doing, was so fast in completing their order, wished them a blessed day...so positive and but so real. Never saw anything like it...in any store. She needs a raise and higher position!!!
Just finished chemo therapy to beat my cancer and was a little hesitant to even go in a store. So happy that it was Pam Pittman's!!

    Thanks,

  42. This is regarding the Dollar General Store in Bagley MN. We have a co-worker there who is constantly nitpicking and harassing us for little things like an item being on the wrong shelf, when a customer must've just not wanted the item anymore and set it there. We are supposed to work as a team, but when she sees a customer waiting to be checked out, she will wait until I notice the customer and walk away so I have to hurry up to the register and help that customer. She is always bad mouthing both us employees and the customers that come in the store. She says terrible things about how "some customers are drug addicts and we don't need people like that shopping here". Whenever she has an issue with someone, she's never had the balls to walk up and discuss it to their face. She always waits until they leave or are out of earshot to start tearing into them and the way they do their job. Like she does her job so much better? I am ashamed to have worked with a person like that, and our District Manager just allows it. The entire couple months I've worked there, the District Manager hasn't said or done anything about it. Working at that store has been the worst experience I have ever had. I've been told by several people that I'm the best employee they've had there so far, which I'm flattered but in a way, that's also really sad. The negative environment in that store is just not worth the stress, and I will not be working for a Company that allows that kind of treatment of its employees and the customers that have the misfortune of shopping on a day when that employee is working. I have made a formal report about her, but I honestly don't expect anything to be done about it.

  44. Your store in Cranford,NJ is in dyer need of some drastic help. It used to be a great store but has declined over the past couple of years. There are always a couple of employees stocking shelves with new product and always ONE register open. No matter how many people are on line. They see it, they get the looks and the sighs from the ten, twelve, fifteen people in line but they will never open another register. It's insanity !!! And the new self check out that they put in only a couple of months ago, forget that. It's always broke as well as the exit door. I know some may look at it as "it's a dollar store" but I don't look at it that way. I look at it as, you are running a business that is taking my hard earned money and I expect better service than the one I recieve at this present time. Corporate really needs to take a look into this store and make some changes. Maybe start by teaching your employees that when there is more than 5 people in line to break off stocking shelves and open a register. The product will still be there when you get back. Then get someone to fix the exit door that hasn't worked right for years. Then get the company back in who installed the self checkout and don't let him leave until it works perfectly. I can shop anywhere but I like the store for it's convenience, proximity, products and value. I would really hate to go anywhere else but if I must, i will. I am writing this in the hopes of making change not to be disparaging. I am also a very loyal and extremely disappointed long time customer. Thank you.

I don't know why DG does not have a program that donates food and items to battered woman's shelters, churches and kids homes in the community of your stores. Because of this I will no longer shop there and support you as a business because you do not support my community.
