Volvo Car USA corporate office and Americas headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey
Volvo Car USA’s Americas headquarters is located in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Current official Volvo Car USA materials direct vehicle owners to Customer Care, the Volvo Portal, an authorized Volvo retailer, Roadside Assistance, or Volvo Car Financial Services according to the type of problem. The Mahwah headquarters address should not be used as a substitute for emergency roadside help or time-sensitive vehicle-safety assistance.

Where Is the Volvo Car USA Headquarters Location?

The Volvo Car USA headquarters and Volvo Cars Americas head office are located at 1800 Volvo Place in Mahwah, New Jersey. The Mahwah operation supports sales, marketing, service, parts, technology, training, retailer relations, and other Volvo Cars activities throughout the Americas.

Older publications and vehicle manuals may show Volvo addresses in Rockleigh, New Jersey, or refer to 1 Volvo Drive. Current Volvo Car USA contact and privacy materials use 1800 Volvo Place, Mahwah, NJ 07430.

Where Are the Headquarters of Volvo?

Volvo Cars has more than one important headquarters location:

  • Volvo Car USA and Americas Headquarters: 1800 Volvo Place, Mahwah, NJ 07430
  • Volvo Cars Global Headquarters: Gunnar Engellaus väg 8, Gothenburg, Sweden
  • Volvo Cars Global Mailing Address: Volvo Car Corporation, 405 31 Göteborg, Sweden
  • Global Switchboard: +46 31 59 00 00

U.S. consumers with vehicle, warranty, retailer, software, roadside, recall, purchase, or account questions should normally contact Volvo Car USA rather than the global headquarters in Sweden.

Volvo Cars and Volvo Group Are Separate Companies

Volvo Cars manufactures and markets Volvo passenger cars, SUVs, wagons, plug-in hybrids, and fully electric vehicles. Volvo Car USA LLC is the U.S. subsidiary responsible for supporting the Volvo Cars business and authorized retailer network in the United States.

AB Volvo, commonly known as Volvo Group, is a separate publicly traded company associated with trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine engines, industrial engines, financial services, and related commercial transportation businesses.

The companies share the Volvo name through a jointly owned trademark company, but a passenger-vehicle complaint should be directed to Volvo Cars rather than Volvo Group.

Choose the Correct Volvo Support Route

Volvo Vehicle, Warranty, App or Customer-Care Questions

Call Volvo Customer Care at 1-800-458-1552 for assistance involving a Volvo passenger vehicle, warranty question, software issue, Volvo Cars app, connected service, unresolved retailer matter, product information, recall question, or existing customer-care case.

Volvo also provides chat, callback options, support articles, owner manuals, software information, and account resources through its official support website and Volvo Portal.

Volvo Dealership Sales or Service Complaints

Most Volvo vehicles are sold and serviced through independently operated authorized retailers. Begin a local sales or service complaint with the appropriate dealership manager:

  • Sales complaint: Ask for the sales manager or general manager.
  • Repair complaint: Ask for the service manager.
  • Finance-office complaint: Ask for the finance manager or general manager.
  • Parts delay: Ask the service adviser or parts manager for the exact part number and estimated availability.

If the dealership does not resolve the concern, contact Volvo Customer Care and request that a case be opened. Provide the dealer name, vehicle identification information, repair-order numbers, dates, and the resolution you are requesting.

Volvo Warranty and Repeated Repair Problems

For warranty questions, contact the authorized Volvo retailer that diagnosed or repaired the vehicle and Volvo Customer Care at 1-800-458-1552.

Keep copies of every repair order, even when no repair was performed or the dealer states that it could not duplicate the problem. Repair records can establish when a problem was first reported, the mileage at each visit, what parts were replaced, and whether the condition continued.

Warranty coverage depends on the vehicle, model year, mileage, component, warranty terms, maintenance history, diagnosis, and other circumstances. A corporate complaint does not automatically guarantee warranty coverage, reimbursement, replacement, repurchase, or compensation.

Volvo Roadside Assistance and Towing

For a disabled Volvo vehicle, call Volvo Roadside Assistance at 1-800-638-6586. Roadside Assistance is available 24 hours a day.

Depending on eligibility and the applicable program, assistance may include towing, battery-jump service, fuel delivery, flat-tire help, lockout assistance, winching, or trip-interruption benefits. Coverage, mileage limits, reimbursement requirements, and fees may vary.

If the vehicle presents an immediate fire, crash, medical, gas, electrical, or roadway hazard, contact emergency services first.

Volvo Car Financial Services Payments, Loans and Leases

Volvo Car Financial Services handles many Volvo vehicle loans, leases, payments, payoff requests, titles, account changes, lease-end questions, and financial account concerns.

Do not mail payments to the general-correspondence address. Payment addresses differ for retail-finance and lease accounts and should be confirmed through the official VCFS website, account statement, or representative.

If an account holder or person who normally handles the payments has died or become incapacitated, contact VCFS directly and ask what estate, authorization, successor, or account-change documentation is required. Do not post death certificates, account numbers, Social Security numbers, legal documents, or financial records in a public comment.

Volvo Recall and Vehicle-Safety Questions

Use Volvo’s official recall lookup or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall database with the complete 17-character VIN.

If a vehicle appears unsafe to drive, do not wait for a response from the corporate office. Contact Roadside Assistance, an authorized retailer, emergency services, or another qualified professional as appropriate.

What to Have Before Contacting Volvo Corporate Office

  • Vehicle year, model, trim and current mileage
  • Vehicle identification number, shared only through a private verified channel
  • Dealer name, location and department involved
  • Purchase or lease date
  • Volvo Customer Care case number
  • Repair-order and invoice numbers
  • Dates of dealership visits and telephone calls
  • Names or positions of representatives contacted
  • Diagnostic reports and written technician findings
  • Photos, videos, warning messages or screenshots when relevant
  • Software version and app information for digital problems
  • Charging records or battery-health findings for electrified vehicles
  • A short chronological summary
  • The specific resolution requested

A clear complaint is generally more effective than a long account containing unrelated events. Explain what happened, what the dealer or Volvo has already done, why the issue remains unresolved, and what outcome you believe would resolve it.

How to Escalate a Volvo Complaint

  1. Start with the correct local department. Contact the dealership sales manager, service manager, parts manager, finance manager, or general manager according to the problem.
  2. Request written records. Obtain copies of contracts, repair orders, technician notes, estimates, invoices, diagnostic results, and parts information.
  3. Contact Volvo Customer Care. Call 1-800-458-1552 and request a case number.
  4. Provide a concise timeline. List the important dates, mileage, repair attempts, representatives contacted, and current vehicle condition.
  5. State the requested resolution. Examples include another inspection, completed warranty repair, software review, reimbursement consideration, replacement-part update, another retailer, replacement review, or repurchase review.
  6. Ask for escalation. If the first representative cannot resolve the issue, request review by a supervisor, regional representative, technical specialist, warranty reviewer, or other appropriate department.
  7. Follow up in writing. Use Volvo’s official contact form, Volvo Portal, fax, or written correspondence and include the existing case number.
  8. Use the appropriate outside resource. Safety complaints may be filed with NHTSA. Financial-account disputes may involve VCFS and applicable financial regulators. State consumer-protection or legal resources may be appropriate for unresolved sales, warranty, or lemon-law disputes.

When mailing documents, send copies rather than original contracts, titles, receipts, or irreplaceable records. Use tracking when proof of delivery is important.

Volvo Battery, Charging and Electric-Range Complaints

Volvo sells fully electric, plug-in hybrid, and mild-hybrid vehicles. Complaints may involve reduced displayed range, charging failures, battery warnings, software behavior, unavailable charging features, 12-volt battery problems, propulsion warnings, or disagreement about what was represented during the sale.

For a battery or electric-range complaint:

  • Record the vehicle model, model year, mileage and software version.
  • Save screenshots showing range estimates, charging status, warning messages and dates.
  • Document weather, charging conditions and recent driving when relevant.
  • Ask the authorized retailer to document battery-health and diagnostic findings on the repair order.
  • Preserve advertisements, window stickers, emails and written statements connected with the sale.
  • Ask whether any software updates, technical journals, service campaigns, warranty provisions or recalls apply.
  • Open a Volvo Customer Care case if the dealer cannot resolve the concern.

A displayed range estimate and the vehicle’s rated range are not necessarily the same measurement. However, consumers who believe a vehicle was misrepresented or has suffered abnormal battery deterioration should preserve the supporting records and request a documented technical and warranty review.

Volvo Lemon Law, Repurchase and Replacement Requests

A customer may request replacement, repurchase, refund, reimbursement, or another review, but Volvo is not required to approve every request. The outcome may depend on the applicable warranty, repair history, vehicle condition, state law, mileage, time in service, number of repair attempts, days out of service, and whether the problem substantially affects use, value, or safety.

Lemon-law requirements differ by state. Some states require written notice, a final repair opportunity, use of a dispute program, or action within a particular time or mileage period.

Consumers considering a lemon-law claim should:

  • Keep every repair order and communication.
  • Confirm that each repair order accurately describes the reported problem.
  • Track all days the vehicle was unavailable.
  • Save towing, rental and transportation receipts.
  • Review the warranty and state-specific requirements.
  • Consider contacting the state consumer-protection office or a qualified attorney.

CorporateOfficeHeadquarters.com does not provide legal advice or determine whether a vehicle qualifies under any lemon law.

Common Volvo Complaints and Escalation Issues

Dealership Communication Problems

Customers may report difficulty obtaining return calls, written diagnoses, repair updates, loaner vehicles, parts estimates, or responses from dealership management. Request that important promises and decisions be placed in writing.

Repeated Repairs

If the same problem continues after multiple visits, ask the dealer to list the original complaint and each attempted repair on the new repair order. Contact Volvo Customer Care with the complete repair history rather than treating each visit as an unrelated event.

Parts Delays

Ask for the exact part number, date ordered, current status, estimated arrival, and whether the vehicle is safe to operate while waiting. Request escalation when a prolonged delay leaves the vehicle unusable.

Software and Volvo Cars App Problems

Document the vehicle software version, phone model, app version, error message, screenshots, and troubleshooting already completed. Some concerns may require both retailer diagnosis and Volvo digital-support assistance.

Finance and Payment Problems

Loan, lease, payoff, title, payment, account-access and credit-reporting issues should be directed to Volvo Car Financial Services rather than the vehicle-support department. Keep confirmation numbers and screenshots of completed or attempted payments.

Warranty Coverage Disputes

Ask the dealer or Volvo to identify the warranty language, diagnosis, exclusion, maintenance requirement, or other reason used to approve or deny the claim. Request the decision in writing when possible.

Volvo Reviews and Complaints

The current Volvo reviews visible on CorporateOfficeHeadquarters.com include individual complaints involving difficulty reaching a person for financial-account and payment assistance, dissatisfaction with plug-in-hybrid battery range, reported software and battery problems, disagreement about statements made during the sale, and requests for refund, replacement, or lemon-law consideration.

These comments reflect the experiences and opinions of individual reviewers. CorporateOfficeHeadquarters.com does not independently verify every allegation, diagnosis, conversation, warranty decision, range claim, or legal conclusion in a public review.

A useful Volvo review should identify the general vehicle model and year, dealer location, type of issue, repair history, Volvo department contacted, requested resolution, and whether the problem was ultimately resolved.

Volvo Payment Issue

October 3, 2024

Volvo, Trying to reach an actual person with help in making a car payment? Don’t want to talk to a computer. Four days I’ve been trying to make a payment. I’ve called numerous numbers asking to speak to a person. The lease is in my name, but my husband has been paying the payments. He passed away last Thursday. On Monday, I’ve been trying to contact a person at Volvo that I may talk to regarding setting up a way that I can make payments from my account. After countless efforts, I finally reached a person. Explained to Paris what I needed. She sent me to a recorded message. I’m back where I started from which is nowhere. Customer service must be a foreign concept to Volvo. I will never again do business with Volvo.

Volvo Inadequate Battery Pack

September 11, 2024

Volvo, When my wife and I were shopping for another Volvo 5 years ago, we decided to purchase the new XC60 T8 Hybrid from our dealer in Westport CT. Our long time salesperson was given information that he related to us, that the vehicle could drive up to 40 miles on a charge. That vehicle cost us around $70,000. When I started to drive it, I found it held a charge equivalent to 21 miles on electric. I started to contact Volvo HQ in NJ and I was given 2 years extra warranty. There have been software issues, dead battery and other issues with it, and I was told by a salesperson in Westport that she knew of no other customer that had an XC60 plug in Hybrid…Now, the battery pack only charges to 18 miles in Pure mode and 17 miles in Hybrid mode. Its capacity is greatly reduced per my 40 amp charger and I just viewed the Volvo Cars app and it showed that the battery pack was totally depleted and I got a screenshot of that and a shot of the dashboard showing it had 11 miles left. I feel I was sold a vehicle that was new to the dealer and I was given incorrect information that Volvo fed my salesperson. I have complained about the battery pack and you even sent a tech from NJ to diagnose it a couple of years ago. As it has not been “fixed”, I’m invoking the lemon law and asking you to either refund my purchase price or put me in a comparable XC60 T8 Hybrid that actually is rated for around 40 miles that I was told about during the sales cycle when I was mid informed about the specs of the vehicle.
