Optimum Billing Issue

Billed for cable I did not have! I canceled my cable with the company but kept the internet and phone in September 2023. I also asked for them to remove a name from the bill at the same time. I sent the form in for the request and heard nothing back. The name is still on the bill and they told me they couldn’t take it off the name because the person whose name needed to be removed didn’t sign the form. I explained that we were divorced and that we had not talked to each other. I recently opened my bill and found out that the company was still charging me for cable. I figured that the internet charges went up. After six months of being charged for service, I didn’t receive. The company said that they couldn’t reimburse me for the six months. It is their responsibility to remove it from my account. I returned the equipment and canceled it the right way. And they said they could not help me with the issue. When I asked them for a corporation phone number they said they didn’t have a phone number. So I went online to find the number. The corporation hung up on me before I could find out what the problem was. Very unsatisfying to know that a company can steal from its customers and get away with it. I’ve been a customer for 20 years and they couldn’t help me with a reimbursement.

PROMOTION SCAM! PLEASE READ!! OK so I’d like to tell you first off that this became about far more than a $200 Visa gift card. This is about big corporations getting away with crazy deceiving lies, false advertisements, and straight-up corruption. This is just Optimum but the sky is the limit. You’ll see quickly in my exchange what the goal is. It is sick. I wish I recorded it, but in my last and final conversation, the supervisor credited me $50 on my next bill. He was laughing telling me in so many words how most people don’t push this hard and eventually, they just go away. I asked if gift cards were even available and he just kinda laughed uncomfortably. If I do receive a card of sorts I will update my review, but just know, If you sign up for something because you like the promo….Think twice. That’s just a technique to get you to get their more expensive service. I feel a lot of us already know this but I personally wasn’t aware of the lengths they’d go to to avoid doing ANYTHING for their loyal paying customer. Baffling. Hopefully, I can cause even a little bit of awareness and we can start calling these frauds out on the BS they spew to us consumers. Enjoy!

This is not a review I’m not even sure you’ll see this but I need to comment on a commercial I just saw about Optimum. It’s the commercial about people throwing things a this poor woman getting hurt near the pool. In my opinion, I think you should rethink that commercial. It’s harmful to the actors. But it’s only my opinion.

Optimum Customer Service Issue

Service down was told by my NJ Board of Utilities not to pay .. My complete service kept dropping. After a week of going around like a hamster on a wheel, Optimum Techs advised me they did not know what was causing the dropping in my neighborhood. Since I needed my internet for my work .. I canceled Optimum and went with another provided. Now Optimum wants me to pay for the days I had limited service plus wants me to pay til the end of the billing period even though I canceled and returned all their equipment !!! I called the NJ Board of Utilities and filed a claim. They told me not to pay the bill since they just took Optimum to court for this exact reason and they are not allowed to do this.
