Rented a home through a Kauai vacation rental listed on your website. The home was nothing near the 4.6 rating it was given. It was dirty, rusted outdoor furniture, sofa cushions held together with safety pins. The washing machine did not work. The rating and review we gave the home was 2 stars. The review was posted and then later removed. I am sure it was to keep the 4+ star rating and to keep it rented. This is unfair to prospective clients unless the issues have been corrected. But I just saw a review from Sept 2023 that reflected the same problems. We have rented from VBRO before with great results and reputation. But our experience does create doubt about using this service again.

VRBO Mold in My Unit

On 8/21/23, mold in my unit, I talked to VRBO told repeatedly, (even today) that Mold is not part of VRBO standards.

I was offered me to move or a refund by Santiago, have in writing also. Why is my refund being held up?

I had to send photos of the mold before my call escalated to the next level of customer service.

The host writes in his dispute response that his wife went into the unit during my rental time. The host stated there was Mold & an HVAC person came to look at it.

if we all see mold why am I still waiting for my refund.?

Mold is mold, pull your recordings and listen to the conversations between VRBO & myself. This is not right that you are holding up my refund.

Your host, Isaiaha Walker of Old Orchard Beach has a dump, Look at the information and photos that I have submitted several times & his replies.

Make this right.. I have photos but can not share them from this computer. I sent 17 on 8/21/23. and 17 more on 10-16-2023. claim # 118400290. make this right.

Paid In Advance VRBO

I’ve had twelve cases where I paid in advance for a stay, but arrived to find the condo occupied by someone else. Despite emails and shuttle info, we were left stranded. It’s now July and I’m still waiting for a resolution on my claim. I hope case #12 will be refunded for our first night. It’s hard to relive those devastating days every time I call. Thank you for your help.

I am writing to you about a refund that is still not in our account our case # is 11558241. We have received one of two refunds. We received that on on April 6th 2023. I have been on the phone so many times to get our 2nd refund. The problem is with your system. We had to cancel our trip due to a medical emergency. We have sent a copy of what we have received. Have been getting a few emails on how sorry this is. And how you understand our situation. But I really do not think you do. I am writing this because I feel we should be compensated for more than the refund we are waiting for. We are in our 70,’s and we are retired. We take 1 trip per year and we had to miss out on our 30th wedding anniversary.

I would hope that you can look into this case and expedite it. I would appreciate an email concerning this matter ASAP.

Dear Sirs,

Please see my case number and follow the updates.

As of today I have waited two rounds of 10 business days to receive my refund and was told to contact you on the 10th business day. Here it is the 10th business day(for the second time, so thats 20 business days) and at this point it is beyond completely unacceptable. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau as soon as I finish writing this email, also the Division of Consumer Affairs, Consumer Business Alliance, Office of the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Bureau, Rip-Off Report, Pissed off Consumer, Google Reviews, Yelp. and several others as well as a private attorney. I should have read the reviews before I dealt with your company…..This is completely unacceptable and I am owed this refund and I am not waiting any longer. Please contact me via phone, I am tired of waiting and being sent emails and nothing is resolved. . Once again I have cc’d several others in your company, as well as outside individuals in positions that I feel could possibly help me. Hoping someone at your company will do something to help me, My refund should have been issued March 24, 2023, it is pathetic and unacceptable that I need to beg you to do your job. I am so frustrated. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

See below……………..there are hundreds of more negative reviews but I honestly was getting very upset reading them because my situation seems hopeless with all the other people who have been deceived by your company so I stopped copying them. I have spent over 7 hours on the phone with your company and writing emails. I keep being told to wait and you will email me back and the issue is resolved. The issue is not resolved until I receive my refund I AM DONE WAITING!!!! PLEASE ADVISE AND RESOLVE IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!

Want it cancelled but without owners permission its not cancelled. YET the almost 5000 is due on my credit card. Very disappointing

I WENT ON VRBO TO CHECK Availability AND WAS CHARGED FOR THE HOUSE. REQUESTING A FULL REFUND. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME USING THE SITE.

The Airbnb that I reserved in February for April 5 has been cancelled by the property owner. I was asked me to cancel my reservation so I should get my a full refund. The total cost of my Vrbo was $611.13, I have received $243 which leaves a difference of $368.13 owed to me. When can I expect to see this amount credited to my credit card? My credit card company has advised me to file a dispute if I don’t get the credit put back on my card soon.

User’s recommendation: can’t be honest until I get my refund placed back on my credit card.

Horrible company

Did not resolve issue after saying they would after countless phone calls. All calls routed through India. Enough said.

Booked a cozy 4bedroom 4 bathroom house in Cable Beach ,Nassau Bahamas.. we arrive at the home in cable Beach 458 w bay street and there was no one there to meet us after flying in from Abaco. After several phone call and text messages and messages to the host got no reply.. about an two hours later I received and email saying that my trip was canceled and my money would be refunded on the day of our arrival to this home.. Mrs Miller who is the host never came to talk to us about why we were able.to book a house that was already rented and payments we made in the sum amount of $ 2700.00 between two payments.. Mrs Miller needs to be taken off vrbo or hotel they we had to now go find to stay in needs to be paid for and someone needs to answer for why Me Nad my family showed up to a home that was not available.. Nothing has been done so far about my problem and no one has contacted me so far. The problem is one of my guests is being charged taxes twice so whats the rocket science in it to resolve just cancel the double tax charges by the system mistakenly. This has never happened in last one year and I hope this doesnt happen again. I as a host and my guests should not have to suffer for such a simple problem. I hope the top management in VRBO can look into this problem and resolve it immediately. Thanks

Refund of cancellation charge.

I have discussed this problem with you 10 days ago. It is concerning the booking cancellation of property HA9T6PDJ and I was given the case number 11055****. You said the host was responsible for actioning the refund because it was her who cancelled the booking, but she disputes this. I want this refund of £79 paid to me without delay, this is no way to run a business. Property is in Teguisol apartments Costa Teguise, Lanzarote. Thank you Catherine
