Golden Corral Pueblo CO False Accusation

Falsely accused of stealing food by a manager named Ashley Eason!

On Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at approximately 3:50 p.m. my husband, son and I ate at Golden Corral at 3400 N. Elizabeth ST. in Pueblo, CO. Just as we were about to get dessert a manager named Ashley Eason approached our table and falsely accused us of putting food in a bag. I advised her we did no such thing to which she replied, “I watched the camera and saw you.” I told her she didn’t see it on camera because it never happened. I asked her if she wanted to look in my bag and she replied ‘no’. I proceeded to unzip my bag and show her there was no food in it because I wanted to prove to her what she had accused us of wasn’t true. We told her we wanted to see the video where we were supposedly stealing food and at that point she changed to “Well you really can’t see if you did it or not because of the camera angle.” She told us we could see it IF she could find it and Said she was going to send a different manager out to talk to us and went to the back of the restaurant. We waited several minutes to talk to the other manager she said she was sending to talk to us and finally my husband told someone up front where you pay that we needed to talk to a manager. They replied, Didn’t you just talk to a manager?” in a hateful tone. Manager Ashley Eason never came back out to tell us if she found the video where she claimed we stole food. She stayed hidden in the back. She knew what she had accused us of wasn’t true because I showed her everything in my bag. She never bothered to apologize. I had asked her for her name but she refused to give it to me. Another manager named Steve Slatter came to our table and offered us meal tickets. We told him we wanted our money back. We didn’t want a meal ticket to a place that had falsely accused us of stealing. We told him we wanted money, meaning a refund and he gave us the refund. I asked him if he wanted to look inside my bag to which he replied ‘no’. Nevertheless I unzipped my bag and showed him there was no food in it. My husband told him I was getting my phone in and out of my bag and that is all I did. We were told to have a nice day. We were having a nice day minding our own business when manager Ashley Eason came to our table and falsely accused us of stealing and said she looked at the camera and saw it in a tone loud enough for the customers around us to hear it. She obviously didn’t see it because it never happened. I showed managers Ashley Eason and Steve Slatter the inside of my bag so they both knew the accusation was false but neither of them acknowledged it. When I asked neither of them wanted to see inside my bag but I showed both of them anyway. We had never been accused of stealing anything in our entire lives until this happened and we were embarrassed and humiliated in a public place. It was obvious customers close to us were listening to everything that was said. Our dinner was a Christmas gift from our son and his wife and Golden Corral totally ruined it. We have been customers of Golden Corral for many years with no problems until yesterday. I was advised by my nephew who is an attorney and several other people to write to corporate headquarters with this complaint. It was truly an awful experience. We were so upset we left without finishing our meal. P.S. I got both of the manager’s names when I asked manager Steve Slatter his name and I asked him what the female Manager’s name was.

Unable to use points for free meals at Decatur,Ga. location

I have been a loyal customer at this location for more than 3 years. The service provided by Kent (General Manager) and his staff has always been exceptional. My concern is that I have accumulated $170 points, but I have not been able to use any of them for the last 6 weeks. In addition, I have not been able to add points to my account for the additional visits to this location. I talked to Kent yesterday during lunch, and he told me that this is a problem unique to this location and that I could use it at other locations. This is not acceptable because of the distance to other locations. Please advise what can be done to allow me to use my points or stop printing the cash register receipts that advertise the program.

Golden Corral in Hickory, NC Bad Experience w/ General Manager

Rated 1.0 out of 5
August 12, 2023

On Saturday evening August 12th, 2023, in Hickory, NC I frequented my local Golden Corral on 1053 Lenior Rhyne Blvd. As I approached the counter with my daughter and her family to pay for our meal, I was greeted by General Manager Elliot Troutman. He proceeded to ask me how many people were at my dining party. I replied “Six” after I began to tell him the ages of my adult family members and minor grandchildren, he reached his arm out and began to explain to me (loudly) that he had a process in which he was trained when it comes to ringing people out ” Ma’am, LET ME DO IT!”.I quietly asked him is this how this process is done and he replied that’s how he was trained. I moved aside and he asked my Autistic grandchildren how old they were. He rang us out and we sat and tried to enjoy our meal. I intentionally made it a point to observe another guest to see if he as well as others did not follow the same criteria. In other instances, I watched as other customers told him the ages of their party, and I instantly felt singled out. Afterward, I had my mind made up that I would approach him and have a private conversation about how I felt that his delivery in explaining this process was downright rude. I was profoundly upset at his tone and how I was talked to after I spent just shy of one hundred dollars plus our tip on our meal just to be treated less than. I explained that I could have dined somewhere else that evening and his rebuttable was that Outback or Texas Roadhouse would have cost me one hundred and eighty dollars instead. After I told him how I felt his delivery was “off” he apologized and at the same time told me “If I didn’t like how I was treated I could leave his restaurant.” As myself and my son in law was conversating with him he placed his arm out and rudely said, “at least look at me in the face while I’m talking to you”. As a common supporter of Golden Corral, I was appalled at my dining experience this evening. In 2023 when so many people of different backgrounds come together for equality I felt as if I was being humiliated after I spent my hard-earned money. He rambled on about being short-staffed, and other challenges that may have been the reason he was “short” with me and explained that may have been the reason behind his attack. I don’t know that I could ever visit this establishment again. I would like for someone higher up in the company’s Organizational chart to reach out to me to rectify this situation. Thanks in advance for helping me in this matter.

Golden Corral #670 1511 Gregg Road West Bellevue, NE

Thursday, March 30, 2023

In the month of February, I went to Golden Corral restaurant in Bellevue, Nebraska

Golden Corral #670 1511 Gregg Road West Bellevue, NE 68123 402-293-5696

to have breakfast before attending church. When I walked into the dining area, I spoke to a man

sloppy looking clothing, maybe 50’s in age’ who appeared to be by himself. I spoke and we had very casual conversation. I commented on something on the television but he replied, “Do you have any family?” For safety reasons I promptly replied, “I don’t think I need to answer that.” He apologized, said his goodbyes to everyone else after he finished eating and I thought he left. However, after I finished eating, about 10-20 more minutes after he left, I left. But as I was leaving I noticed he was still there observing my vehicle as he was driving away; this prompted my interest to observe what vehicle he was driving…a large, old van, perfect for kidnapping someone and restraining them with drugs and ropes or something, since seeing through the vehicle was not possible. His response to my comments on the news and the fact he was still outside the restaurant long after leaving the dining room encouraged me to be aware more often. I let the situation rest since there was no real evidence to prove he was a nefarious person.

Well, today, 30 Mar 2023, I ran some errands in that same location,

Golden Corral #670 1511 Gregg Road West Bellevue, NE 68123

and decided to have something to eat, around the hour between 3-4 PM, before heading home. I quickly had one plate of food, left a good-sized tip, (I love those ladies; they are hard workers and very sweet), and proceeded to the car.

As I was leaving I noticed a man sitting in a car to the left of mine, looking at my car and talking on the phone; I stared at him and he appeared nervous. As I left I looked to get a license number but it was only a tag, showing possibly a newly purchased vehicle. The traffic was heavy so someone north of my car waved me through to make a left turn going north since most traffic was going south. Well, guess what? There he was, that tall man, facing north waiting to make a left turn to the west into the restaurant parking lot. Whew! I’m glad I left as quickly as I did; I think it was a trap. All that man had to do while I was getting in the car was block my car with his van which would have also blocked the vision for the restaurant to see me. With the man parked to the left of my car, he would have been free to help get me in the van after being disabled by some drug.

For the past year, before ever speaking to the man, I only went to the restaurant on Sunday mornings before church, between 8-9:30. I noticed, on these mornings, he always sits to the right of the salad bar, back toward the southwest end of the restaurant, second table, facing the television. It appears he has casual conversation with a few couples that come there to dine.

Now, anyone reading this can easily assume I’m taking the situation too seriously. However, with all the people-trafficking going on I think this situation bares some looking into, or at least some kind of observation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
