  1. I just wanted to say i absolutely love winco, a couple of stores recently opened in Glendale Arizona. The savings is fantastic! what normally would cost me $120 at fry's only costed me $82 at winco. This means a lot to me, as a customer with a budget. Thank you winco! Not only were the prices competitive but the store was clean, orderly, and food was fresh.

  2. I would like to say that I like Winco as a store and savings, but I do not like to go into the Pocatello, Idaho store. Everytime that I have gone in, I have experinced this.
The isles are nerrow and usally someone is stocking the racks. This makes the isles narrower, and when you try to get around the stocker, they do not move or move thier carts and act as if I am a botter to them. I understand that it is employee owned store, but most of those employees in Pocatello store they have taken that to heart. and they think they own it and they have the right to be there and not the customer. This is very concerning to me and my family.

  3. We need a Winco in Columbia County Oregon. The nearest ones are in Portland, and Longview Washington. In this struggling economy, there are a lot of folks in the great distance from Portland to Longview that would benefit. We're stuck with Safeway and Fred Meyer, and one decent Grocery Outlet. Thanks.

    1. Columbia County's small population isn't worth the several millions required to open a new store. Make a once-a-month drive into Portland instead and stock up on you main groceries. You can still get milk, beer and pop at Safeway or Fred Meyer.

  4. I visited a winco in glendale arizon on 10-4-12. It was the worst experience i have ever had at a store.prices were one or two times higher than at walmart.the employees would not help me find things or point me in the area to find the things i needed.the cashier threw my items and was not nice at all.my son and daughter said just leave everything since shes being nasty.i paid for my things and left.i try 8 time to call the store and mo answer.still on 10-5-12 the store hasnt answered the phone.i can not get ahold of the store manager.this was the first and last visit to any of your stores.im a single father of five and work in a field of customer service.i work with multiple law enforcement agencies all over the metro area.i have people ask me on places to go and shop at times. I wont ever recommend your company.this is probably going to fall on deaf ears just from the experience i got at your store.but i had to give it a shot.my name is bil and thank you for your time.

  6. I am having problems with the WINCO store out of Oregon telling my Soldier that he can not be excused from work to conduct his military training, they have even written him up and have threatened to fire him. I have tried to contact their corporate office and speak to Melissa Vandenburgh, or Mary or Mrs. Beth Reib since about a month ago. Mrs. Reib initially called me back, but now I am getting no response, is this how you treat Soldier's?

  7. I went into the Winco in Salem, Oregon on Friday, November 23, 2012 and I noticed the price's of food had not been lowered to reflect the falling price of fuel. I inquired about this from the employed owned clerks and they have no answers? I called their main office and got the same, I don't know answer! I think it's time to find another store to shop at since they don't care to save us any money!
Their answer when you ask them why the prices went up, they always say, you know thwe price of fuel is sky high but we ain't lowering it when it does.....

  22. Hey I just moved to Utah from Boise. I see that Winco is expanding into Utah. My suggestion for your next stores location is the North Salt Lake area around or close to Legacy Highway. The housing growth there is booming and there is no grocery store close. It would be a very good location choice.

  26. I like to shop at Winco, but I'am not happy when I see people eat out of the bulk section or they grab a donut and eat it with out paying for it. I have even brought this to the attention of the staff and they laugh about it. To me this is shop lifting and its not right.

  29. Dear Winco CEO, or to whom it consider there's need to be a change on how management who favors some co-workers way more than the rest. A store manager should not be telling a new hired that quote" Don't worry we do it here too we favor here as well". And how come hard over night freight stockers who's been with the company for more than 6 years not get full time but new hires that only been with the company for less than 2 years get the full time position.

  30. I started working at Winco recently and your staff is severely rude. I got bullied out the door before my first week. I have no resources to even contact anyone about the problems I had because I was rushed threw my orientation and training. When I asked a fellow employee why people were being so unfriendly she said "don't expect anyone to help you or be nice because we all want hours." I wanted to make a career out of Winco I showed up on time customers commented they couldn't believe I was new I was so friendly and fast, and that's why I didn't fit in I was friendly. Every time I had a question or my register would lock I was treated like a idiot and left to wait on clerk leads for extended amounts of time. I was treated very poorly and was not even given the proper tools to do my job. I was so stressed about being treated badly and ignored when I asked questions that by my fifth day it was to much. I left with out a call because Peggy the woman that did my orientation was the biggest bully of them all. I had no one to ask for help and that's the way they set it up so I would haft to quit. I herd 2 other new hires quit that location after a few days and I'm sure its for the exact same reasons as me. Please look into things so no one else is harassed out of a opportunity like me and the other candidates. Take care and Thank you for your time.

  31. I really love to shop at Winco foods , I go to the one in Norco, California. I did have an issue with other services there , I have to admit. I know the Money department closes at 10:00pm. So when I arrived to purchase a money order at 9:55pm. I figured it was getting close to closing time , but I still had a few more minutes , because it closes at 10:00pm. I happen to rely on that fact , since I needed a money order and just had received, the money I needed to buy the money order, right ,I went to, Winco. at 9:55 I hurried in to get the money order.the person at the counter informed me the machines were already shut down , as a coworker was handing her money , (probably for a money order). At the same time a different co worked shouted it closes at 10:00pm, (and shaking his head, it was 9:57, at this time not 10:00), guess he didn't have a watch or a phone, with the time on it. So the service myself and my wife rely on didn't happen...I guess there are other places to shop.!!!!

  32. I have had a few nasty encounters with some of their employees, I have even spoke to the new manager in charge of the WinCo store in Pomona and I don't think he has done anything to these employees... every time I go in these employees are rude, Debbie I think she's the bookkeeper for that store she's mean whenever I try to ask her a question, gets jealous whenever she see's a guy employee helping me find things, which is pretty weird honestly.... Also this other employee, she is a cashier, I remember her name was kirshia... I was coming out of he restroom and she was coming in and she had bumped into me almost knocked me down, she didn't even apologize and she called me a bitch thinking it was my fault when it was hers.... there was this other time, I was shopping with my kid a little 3y old I was out by aisle 12b this lady was coming fast out of some green doors with the forklift and she almost hit us she was literally like 1 inch away from hitting us with that big ass machine all because she was mad and didn't care enough to make a sound when she was coming out of there....and she saw us too, she never took the time to get off or stop to apologize to me or my baby... this Barbara lady shouldn't even be working there along with the other two ladies I mentioned, I don't know how that store runs or how the manager is but he shouldn't let his employees do that to anyone... that's really bad for business, honestly. so ridiculous playing favorites with employees, grow up and do your job right, or leave the store..

  37. Hello Mgt: Just a small suggestion, and I won't be negative.. just observant. I frequently shop at the Winco in Folsom, CA. Nice store, friendly people, especially Cathy S. in customer service. So the reason I am writing to you is because I think you need to check out the hand blow dryers in the bathrooms. I don't think it's just me who says it sounds like a car wash drive thru dryer. It is VERY LOUD and quite frankly that would deter people from using it in my opinion. I mean, I've been to airports where they have 10 going at once and this thing is as loud as 10 at once! Maybe consider replacing these things? That would be nice. I often spend in upwards of $200+ every 2 1/2 weeks. Its a simple thing to request...and here's one more suggestion. When I shop at Raley's (sorry sometimes I do) they pipe in soothing music. Makes me want to shop longer you know? Like The Beatles.. etc. I think that would be nice. Have one of your senior management check out the local competition one of these days. I would hate to see Winco go because there are so many grocery stores in Folsom now. Please make it nicer to shop there. I'll bring you ALL my business if you do. And I know there are others who feel the same. All those people with high car payments (not me, I avoid payments, if I can't afford it I don't buy it) but from what I see in the parking lot (and its not just the holidays) Mercedes, Lexus, Tesla's etc. seems to me you'd want to have a more comfortable shopping environment so that you can keep these buyers around longer right? THANKS FOR LISTENING.. MAYBE ONE DAY I'LL WALK IN AND SEE THE CHANGE. Have a Happy New Year! A loyal Folsom resident for 30 years who shops your store regularly, Liza Seipel. :)

  38. I called Winco in Yakima Washington, to ask if they had frozen turkeys on sale. I was told, yes the Jennio's were $.68 a pound and the Butterballs were $.98 a pound. I said Ok, great, because, I need to buy about 40, as we give them away to families, in need, at Christmas. I drove the hour drive there and they had a sign above the jennieo's that said limit 1. Ok, so I was ok with buying the butterballs. They said $.98 a pound. and NO mention of a limit. We put 17 turkeys in our baskets and then asked one of the workers if they had any more in the back. After about 10 minutes a man came out and said he was the Manager. He said, I am sorry but you cant buy the turkeys you have in your basket so you need to put them back. I said " your sign does NOT say there is a limit on the butterballs, and I called also. He said Well sorry , but I will let you buy 10 but , put the rest back. He said he had never heard of anyone buying more than 1 turkey. I explained that we give them away, to people in need at Xmas. He didn't care. I will NEVER shop at the Yakima Winco again. He needs to be fired.

  40. I am so sorry that I am sitting here writing as I really wish I had nothing but good reviews but that is not the case , I am in Lancaster Ca and I once thought Winco was the best store ever as it is the least expensive , But sometimes in life its not about savings ,When you are treated rudly as if you are not even worth being served I am sorry that is abuse and I would never pay to be treated that way , I am sorry to say this is normal at this Winco and no one seems to care much like what has happened in this good Nation where we once respected others and courtesy and customerservice meant something Today Imelda waas so angry and was rude to my 80 yo Mother speaking to her like a child ,Than as I looked at her badge so I would never be in her line again she saids to me Its Imelda and over there is customer service and get my Manager ,I told her first of all I was looking at your badge to see your name, I did not say anything to yo and you engage with me ? Than we exchanged words and I told her I would be writing to corperate, See I believe in life Bullies and mean people get away with their bad behavior as no one stands up and saids No we do not behave like this . I spoke to Kurtis the assistant manager and he is the ultimate example of great customer service along with Segan the deli Manager who was so kind to Mother and I Kurtis and Segan should be acknowledge for their superior customer service and maybe speak to Imelda about sniling and being kind, We are all going through much but if she is so unhappy maybe she could be in the back of house .

  43. I LOVE Winco, but I just discovered that Winco discriminates against shoppers using the Oregon Trail food stamp program. I buy food on this card and sometimes pay cash for small items.

That's when I first noticed that Winco has a $500 gift-card give away for shoppers filling out a lengthy survey.

This survey is NOT OPEN TO FOOD STAMP RECIPIENTS, at least not in Oregon. I can't believe that this is legal. How can you do this?

Once the word gets out, expect some demonstrations.

  44. Winco discriminates against food stamp shoppers in their $500 gift card survey. This is TERRIBLE if not illegal. I can believe that this is not illegal, it is certainly immoral!

Receipts for foods bought on a food stamp card do not have ANY information at the bottom regarding the survey or how to enter.

  45. There are multiple evening and graveyard front-end personnel at the 11250 SE 82nd, Happy Valley, OR store that need better customer service training. Two times now, in the span of 5 days I have mentioned substandard behavior; to-wit: Asking one checkerd why she was handing my paper currency change to me in a balled-up lump? When I complained; she looked at me blankly, said "okay", and turned away and walked off! The 2nd incident was for locking entrance doors without a sign or blocking the door with a cone. Again, the response was "okay", with a walk away following.

I am a retired and combat-disabled US Navy commander; and also the CEO of a large distributing company with 816 employees as of last week's payroll. I could go on and tell you what we do with attitudes like the ones I have experienced the past week!

  46. assistant manager at WinCo's in Victorville Ca is garbage he needs to be taught some manners and communication, well the whole store in general needs a lesson on how important communication is, everyone there is clueless about what is going on in the workplace, a little positions makes them act weird and entitled, we are all human. love working there by all means but since he became manager the energy is off, don't feel appreciated and want to be there as much as I love my job, he is not an understanding person, he don't care for you unless you are a certain someone he will break his back for and make any accommodations for, which is wrong, corporate needs to go undercover and see how he really runs things, there is plenty employees having issues with the scheduling and cares not to hear anyone out. saying I can't do anything about it, which is lies because I seen how he goes into it and manage it.

  47. I would like to know why Winco does not enforce the wearing of mask while shopping. I was shopping at the Winco store in South Salem last night and saw at least 20 people shopping with wearing a mask. Annoucing over the PA that while shopping in the store face mask are required is not the same as enforcing the state law.
Refuse service to those who do not comply with wearing a mask while in the store. If this continues you may see less people who support wearing mask shop elsewhere. I believe there are more who wear their mask than those who do not. I will continue to monitor this and if it continues I will shop somewhere else where they enforce this law.
