Founded in 1775, the United States Postal Service has a rich history as one of the oldest mail delivery services in the world. It has played a crucial role in connecting people and businesses across the nation and facilitating communication.

The Postal Industry

In the postal and delivery industry, USPS competes with private carriers such as FedEx, Amazon, DHL and UPS, as well as other government-operated postal services worldwide. USPS differentiates itself by its vast network, affordability, and its commitment to delivering mail and packages to even the most remote areas of the country. USPS is facing competition from a new player called Ontrac.

Certified mail

Rated 3.0 out of 5
November 28, 2023

On 31 Oct 2023, I mailed a certified letter to my credit card company in Phoenix, AZ. It took 20 days to reach the Phoenix distribution center. This is unacceptable. The supervisor at the Leavenworth, KS post office was very helpful and kept me informed on what was going on. This should not be happening with this kind of mail. It finally reached its destination on 22 Nov 2023. This needs to be looked into if you are having problems getting certified mail to your destination on time.

USPS Fraudulent Activity on Credit Card and Missing Packages

Rated 1.0 out of 5
August 10, 2023

In June of 2023, I was on an extended vacation when I received a fraudulent activity alert from my credit card company concerning a new card that was mailed to my mailbox. The thief attempted to use the de-activated card as late as July 2023. I am also missing two packages that were delivered to my mailbox the same week as fraudulent activity on the card. I contacted both merchants and the packages were never returned to the sender, per USPS policy of mail not picked up by my recipient. I stopped at my local post office and was told to contact my postman and ask them where my packages are.

USPS Drove Into My House

Rated 3.0 out of 5
June 20, 2023

Our postal service driver DROVE INTO our house. Literally. We’ve been trying to get in touch with ANYONE to get this issue taken care of. We’ve gone to our local post office and emailed them all the information including the accident report. Absolutely NO one has responded. We’ve attempted to call over twenty times and NO ONE an answers the phone. This all happened April 12,2023. Over two months ago! We are beyond frustrated with the lack of concern and utter lack of action taken. We have clear video footage proving that our driver crashed into our house while delivering a package. We have been patient and have been waiting for USPS to take control and send anyone out to assess the damages, but legal action will most likely have to occur.

The corporate phone number is an absolute joke and gives no options for speaking to a representative about destruction of private property.

USPS Austintown OH

Rated 3.0 out of 5
May 31, 2023

I wish to file a formal complaint against the delivery of mail from USPS Austintown OH postal service. Monday I was here, sitting in my office. Mail got pitched through our mail slot we paid a professional to install. In the midst of the mail was a notice no one here so our letter was taken back. I called Austintown OH post office, spoke with manager. He stated he would handle it, I repeated that I wanted that piece of mail the next day (today May 31). Today, the mail buy drops mail in the slot and takes off. I have to run through the expansive parking lot to chase him down. I wait while he comes out of Suite E? down the way. I ask where my mail is that wasn’t delivered yesterday, he says he delivered what he had. SO MY MAIL WASN”T IN THE BUNCH. I tell him it better be here tomorrow. He says not to threaten him. I tell him I am not threatening him, I want my mail tomorrow and that USPS is lacking when it comes to taking care of here at 3650 Connecticut Avenue (newly developed, been here for 1.5 years now). He starts telling me no delivery, a yelling match pursues and he tells me he is filing formal complaint with his union. I said go for it. I want my mail on a daily basis. If it is TOO BIG to fit in the slot, KNOCK ON OUR DOOR!!!!! I am here Monday-Thursday, unless I am sick or my Mom is sick. BUT THERE IS NO EXCUSE WHEN I AM SITTING HERE IN MY OFFICE!!!!!
