Geico Rate Hikes.

Rated 1.0 out of 5
January 17, 2024

Lying about the reasons for their rate hikes. My rates in 1 yr have gone up over 70% for basic liability with no change to my driving record, situation, or any other factor under my control. When asked they keep giving me the same boilerplate lie that corporate has handed their agents “costs of parts, labor, and vehicles.” Parts labor and vehicles have not gone up over 70%, or even half that since before covid until now 2024. But what HAS increased is the lawsuits they are suffering and their profit margin- that’s right they are losing lawsuits in the millions of dollars and still increasing profits in 30-50% range, year over year. They used to be the cheapest insurerer, and they are still among the cheaper ones, but now there is a lot less to recommend them. And I will not stand a business partner lying to me so blatantly.

Unfair Billing From Geico Insurance

Rated 1.0 out of 5
November 27, 2023

I am writing to complain about GEICO’s billing problem. In September, my bank account was compromised so I had to cancel any automatic payments so the bank could investigate and get my money back. My automatic payment to GEICO  had to be canceled until I was able to get the money straight. I then made the payment. However, a payment of $703 was taken out of my account by GEICO without any notice. It caused me overdrafts and other problems. I called and the money was put back in my account. I then called and asked if I had a payment due. I was told on the phone that my next payment of $372 was not due until November 1st.  I then got a notification that my November payment would be $1003. I was stunned and upset. Something, somehow went wrong on GEICO’s part and I am so confused. I am a senior on a fixed income and cannot afford this. I was told something different when I called about November’s payment. I called to see what could be done and was told the payments could be broken down to $703 for three months. Again, I am a senior on a fixed income and definitely cannot afford this either. Not to mention it is Christmas and I have 7 beautiful grandchildren whom I would love to buy something for, no matter how small. I feel this is not my fault and the error lies with someone at GEICO. I have been a loyal customer of GEICO for many, many years. It now has me thinking I should find another insurance company. I am at my wit’s end and do not know what to do. My bill of $372 is high for me anyway, but I try to make it work. It went from $252 a month to $372. I want to stay with GEICO but this makes it difficult for me. If you check my records, you will find 0 accidents. My daughter and her husband pay $500 for three cars and their son is 21. I am a senior who pays almost that much for 2 cars and I don’t drive that much.

Sincerely,

Annette Dodson

Submitted auto theft of catalytic converter on a 2011 Prius, no communication with the agent, and I started asking for a supervisor to step in and help me get car repairs, I’ve been billed by Enterprise Rental Car and paid for an inspection at the dealership to get supplemental adjustment, I have called several times a day every day September through November and now I’ve received a eviction notice for rent because enterprise rental car took rent money from me without a notification, now gieco agents are covering this up from executive office.

Attention Geico HQ - Payment Issues

Rated 1.0 out of 5
May 19, 2023

On 4/24/2023, I authorized my Bank, Regions, to send a Payment of $213.13 for this Policy, which was due 4/29/2023. On 4/28/2023, I called Assurant to check on this payment and was told they had no record of it. I explained where it was sent (to Geico) and he located the payment, but said it would take several days to have Geico send them the money and the policy would not go into effect until the money was received. I then paid $213.13 to Assurant for this policy (4/28/2023). This was via my Debit Card from Regions Bank. The Rep explained that Geico would send the check to them (Assurant) and they would send me a check within 7-10 days. Well, I called again today and was told Assurant hasn’t sent this check to me yet. And now I must wait until next Wednesday then they would issue me a check! It will then take another 2-4 days to receive it. This is NOT customer service…you expect a timely payment, yet your Customers must wait for WHAT? On May 17, I again called Geico and was told Geico would reimburse my Debit Card within 48 hours…guess what? NO REIMBURSEMENT YET. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE FLORIDA COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU NEXT!
