I live in the HOLIDAY Retirement in Rocky Hill, CT. The Podiatrist, Dr. Lindsey, came to day @ 1:00 pm.I was looking for the signup list for over one week and could not find it. So today, I skipped half of my lunch and went to see the doctor.There were on five people there so I sat down to wait for the doctor to see me. Kathy, supervisor of aides, asked if I signed the list. I explained that I could not find the list but, in the past, he did see me without my signing in. The co-manager came down, after Kathy talked to her and told me I could not see the doctor as I did not sign in.. I explained to her that HE HAD TAKEN ME IN IN THE PAST EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT SIGN IN AND THAT I HAD BROKEN NAIL IN MY BIG TOE AND WANTED HIM TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT AS I HAVE DIABETES AND DID WANT IT TO GET INFFECTED OR LOSE THE TOE.. SHE SAT THERE MAKING SURE I DID NOT SEE THE DOCTOR.IF ANY THING HAPPENS TO MY TOE, I WILL HOLD THESE PEOPLE CIVIALLY RESPON SIBLE.I Think these was very bad behavior and I would certain would like TO HEAR FROM YUOU REGARDING THIS MATTER.Than you for your consideration.Teresa Tryzna50 Cold Spring RoadRocky Hill, CT 506067
I live in the Holiday in Rocky Hill, Ct. I will be moving very soon. I had a pair of diamond ear rings, in a Zales Jewelery Store, box on my desk in my LOCKED ROOM and someone came in and took my earrings.When I explained to the Manager, Raul, his comment to me was how do I know you didn't pack them or misplace them. I replied that I know that I kept two pairs of earrings and one pair was not on my desk any longer. I also told him that I am not senile. I called the regional manager twice and have not received a call back. Everyone and their bother has a pass key to the rooms. In that same week, another resident who does not lock his door had $200.00 stolen from his room. Every time we get a new manager, things around here get worse not better. HAPPY TO BE LEAVING AFTER SIX YEARS AND about three sets of managers later.P.S. The first thing he asked was if my door was locked. I explained that I ALWAYS LOCK MY DOOR. He told the police officer that I sometimes leave my door unlocked. HOW IS THAT FOR A LIAR !!!
I live in a facility in the Dallas area. Food is at the top of most residents' concerns. It varies from day to day with little variety or anything "tasty", contrary to all that the Holiday brochures say. Our servers do not know us by name, nor do they know our dietary preferences. We are served lots of high sodium and fried food. I have been in touch with two "food" people at the corporate level. My words seem to go in one ear and out the other. I invited one corporate food officer to have lunch with me. He said he'd be back in touch. That didn't happen, for "reasons of family health". He might have had the courtesy to phone me, which anyone with any sense about good public relations knows. Instead we had a very distasteful - pun intended - conversation, for which I'm sorry. I'm not going to let go of this because I know it's the squeaky wheel that gets the attention. As it presently stands, I'd be embarrassed to invite family or friends for a meal. Aside from this, I love living here.
It is not just food at these retirement facilities that stinks, the type of people running these are deplorable snobs. No customer, resident, public courtesy. Snobs, snobs,snobs. We are looking to remove my grandma from here, no one elderly or not should have to be associated with such arrogance and ignorant staff, top staff not the working class staff. My only hope is they have to live in one someday and they get the crap treatment that they shovel out here. It's all about the almighty buck and people don't matter. Must be their Midwest attitudes.

I have been in my field for over 25 years this does not make me better or more intelligent then the next. there is no such thing is working together. But it is always forced down our throats we are a family. Family does not stab you in the back, time and time again. There are not enough staff to cover the shifts. Time and time again you say something, nothing is done. Bugs they can't get rid of!!!! Staff talked to like they are dirt!!!! I was approached by a Marketing staff the other day asked me how things were going with a new resident i said ruff but ok. Just trying to keep busy. They stated ell they have lots of money!!!! REALLY !!!!! I could care less how much money they have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That Means Nothing To Me!!!!

I am a caregiver who recently placed on of my clients in a community in Dallas, TX. I was explained that I would be entitled a referral award after this client lived in the community for 90 days.After the 90 days, I checked on my referral award of $1000. I was told by management that I was not entitled to it.I have made many, many attempts to contact the home office in Oregon and constantly get a run around. No return phone calls or return e-mails.I am considering on suing.Lisa Sanders
Holiday Retirement Community (HolidayTouch.com) is a corporation who does not care about it's tenants or workers. Executives are pocketing $$ and giving nothing back in return. In the last 12 years I've watched, "The Corporation" cut the following:food service times food selection employee hourscleaning servicepull chain emergency assistanceMy grandmother has not had her "apartment" unit cleaned in two weeks. She is down to little toilet paper and nervous because no one (Management) will bring her any. My grandmothers floors, spare bedroom, bathroom, etc are dirty and collecting dust, spider webs, etc. Towels are not changed and collect dust if not used. Corporate has cut the food service times. lunch at 12:30 but lasts until 1:45 because of little help. Then Supper is at 5. Corporate has cut food selection. Prior there was multiple selection for tenants. Left side and right side to a menu. Now food selection is down to 2 main choices, but minimal "regional options. When a tenant pays close to $3900 a month, expectation should be able to eat practically whatever they want. Constant same choices week after week. Employee staffing is down to; whoever cleans rooms is the same employee who serves food. And only 1 maintenance employee on sight for a 24/7 operation. pull chain emergency service has been phased out and tenants are required (ultimately forced to wear a rope around their neck or wrist wrap 24/7 so they can now push a button which hangs from the rope/wrist). The "button service" has been added into the monthly rent. This corporation and individual communities are deteriorating in service and literally going down hill fast with pissing off their tenants!!!!!!!!!!!!Tenants who are older. Tenants who get set in their ways and do not like change. Tenants who just want to be given back what they were promised when they are giving some much financially!!!
