  1. You think nothing of trampling Mr Roberson's 1st Admedment Rights. Well we will se how this plays out do you really think if the aggots have maybe 4-5% of the population that this was a good business move? People that watch the show are Christians, and I would gess most will seenothing wrong ith Phl's coments--but most will see plenty wrong with your prejudicd reaction

  2. A very stupid, "knee-jerk" reaction to a man's honest opinion. It is very clear that GQ knew what they were doing and "baited" Phil into this situation. I truly hope they finish their contract with your company and move their family and beliefs to a network that respects them. They have the audience and the ratings, NOT A&E

  3. I have called my carrier and have indefinitely cancelled your network. You are out of touch with family values, and this is why this show is so popular. It takes us back to simple times with wholesome core values. No violence, no profanity, no nudity. You guys are idiots and need to check yourselves and the reasons this is the #1 show on television. Even if you bring Phil back it will only be because your pocketbook has been hit. You have shown your true colors and I will never again support you stations. You owe Phil, his family, and viewers an apology. In this country we have something called the Constitution, it GUARANTEES, WE THE PEOPLE freedom of speech, even if it offends certain people. If people at A&E are offended by what Phil said then they need to grow up and get over it!! The Gay populous is approximately 1% of this country. Glad you stand up for what the majority would rather have(sarcasm)!! -

  4. The decision to put Phil Robertson on hiatus (fired) is unacceptable. His spirituality and following of the Bible is widely known and probably part of the reason Duck Dynasty has given you (A&E) the highest ratings in world history. The idea that free speech in a profound and clean way can be curtailed due to Political Correctness is not only against the reason for our founding, the Constitution, but a direct affront to journalistic license. Film is about art, which has always been about ideas and communication of ideas. If you continue to take this stand in regard to control clean and prudent speech on your network, then you NO LONGER WILL HAVE MY VIEWING. Not a great business decision. As a business owner, if it were my company, whoever made that call would be on unemployment. Merry Christmas Craig Cosbey Capistrano Beach, CA

Read your bible A&E get the facts if the bible is not right than what is!!!.I hope you go broke .The Robertson family all need to pull out of A&E and start there own show they have the money. Power to Phil for telling the truth just like it says in the bible. If we can not speak freely what can we do!!! Duck Dynasty is the greatest show ever !!!! Dopey1959 Saint Louis , Missouri 63128

  8. Shame on you A&E for shunning not only the "right for free speech", but also condeming the wording of the Bible.
I feel you need to apologize for your actions to Mr. Robertson and all Americans. It might help if you read the Bill of Rights and the Holy Bible so you will understand what everyone is talking about.

  9. your channel is blocked at my house. Tell the truth and you get black balled You will have to answer to the higher power some day. Bring Mr. Robertson back NOW

  10. I bet every one of the above comments is from a red neck republican...shame on you hypocrites...A&E has the right to run their own network...how many people have lost their jobs over something the far right did not want to hear...how about the Dixie Chicks, Mel Gibson, the newscaster that just made a remark about Palin....you people are crazy...If Phil Robertson was really and truely a Christian...which he surely claims to be....he would not feel that way about another human being....

You have everything turned completely around!

    2. Phil doesn't have a problem with any person but rather he has a problem with the behavior of the people. God doesn't hate people but he does judge their behavior are being unjust. God loves the murderer but judges their behavior of murder. God loves gays/lesbians but judges their deviant behavior.

    3. You are totally ignorant of what the Bible says and its meaning. Did you read his follow-up statement? Probably not. Jesus condemned the unrighteous but through grace (forgiveness) you are saved. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Unless you ask for forgiveness and proclaim Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will go to hell. He is commenting on lifestyles not the person. Jesus loves all people but still asks them to turn from sin and follow Him. Jesus never forces anyone to follow Him. It is your choice, but with choice comes consequences.

    4. DD

A&E is a publically traded company that is supported by publically traded companies. It is all about money and your tiny little voice and the boycott from those who share your opinion would be insignificant at best. Sadly, wrong has become so right that you truly believe what you are saying is right. What was said by Phil Robertson was not a hate statement but a statement of faith. You are intolerant of differences. Ugly.

      Delete
    5. Obviously DD is another communist who doesn't support freedom of speech.

  11. You people at A&E should be ashamed of yourselves. You have no moral values and I promise you that one day you will stand in judgement, as we all will, and be accountable for your actions. I realize that God is being taken out of everything and you are part of that problem and contributing to exactly what is wrong with the world today.
The majority of people do not agree with your decision, maybe 3% of the population think being homosexual is normal and rest assured they are wrong too.

    Merry Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I can't believe you are putting Phil Robertson on suspension for saying what he believes in for religeous reasons. Where has free speech gone? Your station would never have survived Archie Bunker in "ALL IN THE FAMILY" in the 1970's. He made fun of everybod and it was funny. You ought to be ashamed for taking a small minority of peoples beliefs when the majority of the people love the show including some of my Gay friends. Since when are we not allowed free speech anymore. I am sick and tired of the bleeding heart liberals trying to dictate to all of this country. I suppose you won't allow Merry Christmas to be said on the network either. If you do not put Phil and the entire cast back on then you will lose a lot of viewers. I for one won't watch anything on your network. I have seen some pretty disgusting shows on your network and you still show them. The only program I watch on A&E is Duck Dynasty and that goes for most of my family and friends. Now is not the time to go against the teachings of God. Look at what is happening around the world now. We do need God in our lives. I do not care what homosexuals do in there own homes but when they try to preach their unnormal way of life to Christians and a network listens It is a damn shame.

    1. You are not alone and I'm boycotting the advertisers who condone silencing our Freedom of Speech. As a Disabled Veteran, I find A&E's decision to be irresponsible, Un-American and Communistic. If A&E supports Communism then I want nothing to do with them they obviously support immorality as proven by their other programming such as Dog the Bounty Hunter who is a disgrace to a badge and a convicted felon. What idiot gave him a bounty hunter license?

  16. The suppresion of Phil Robertson for making an honest observation of homgsexuality is cenorship of the most dangerous form. A&E says toe the radical party line or die. Does Lenin, and Stalins spirit still live in our national media's propaganda

  17. Dear A&E Executive,

I trust this email finds itself to the right place. This will certainly be a one way dialogue because of the fact that your network has taken a stand in favor of homosexual rights. I understand that in the corporate world you attempt to walk the fence and maintain a broad and diverse opinion. But you have to know that the stand Phil Robertson took in an independent interview, which had nothing to do with A&E broadcasting is shared by most of the people that watch Duck Dynasty. We enjoy the show because he has taken such a bold stance. "All you have to do is communicate on a broad basis that "the view shared by Phil Robertson is not the views shared by this network. " Didn't you learn anything from the boycott against Chick Fil A.

If you maintain your position you will loose the most successful reality show in history and at the end of the day for what, to reinforce your position on homosexual rights. The Duck Dynasty Family have enough following to move to another network or start their own show. Don't think your lawyers can stop it... Remember the show Friends or Two and Half Men... You are in a no win situtation.

Lift the suspension, slap him on the hand and just communicate that his views dont express your views. End of story. The longer this goes on the less options you have to turn this around. This is a watermark moment for your organization.

    Sincerely,

    Gary Casto

  20. Your narrow minded views are not welcomed on my T.V. or in my life. For years I've been told I have to accept other people's lifestyles, religious belief's and I am supposed to keep my opinions to myself while you and hateful people like you force me to listen to your filth and tell me your un-natural way of life is how everyone is supposed to belive, while you tell me that is what your going to teach my children and if I tell them the truth then I'm a fear mongrar. I remember a war movie way back in the late 60's or early 70's about the bombing of Pearl Harbor and when the when they were bombing the United States one of their leaders said "I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant", and we lived up to the fears he and some people in Japan had for us. Well Listen up. Were Done with you, Our money buy's the products that keeps you on the air. Your one tract, narrow minded, Bulling ways are going to stop, Mainly because no one will be left to watch your channel. I hope you get what you deserve, Obamacare, food stamps and some sturdy cardboard to block the wind while you try to sleep under that bridge where you end up after this boneheaded stunt. I'm sure if you want to unload your station (Even though it isn't worth much ) you can try Glenn Beck, he wanted to get Stu a nice Christmas present, But he has to keep it under $100, with your actions this week $100 will be a big price. Take the money and run.

  22. If this controversy is a public relations invention to attract attention and increase viewers to the Duck Dynasty program after you apologize and make up with Phil Robertson I congratulate you on your anticipated success.
If on the other hand, if such is not the case, I advise you, you have made a very poor business decision with many financial, social and ethical repercussions to follow.

  23. I applaud Phil for saying what his convictions are, even if a very vocal GLAD population does not agree. We have the right to have different religious beliefs. Bring back Phil, and his family, so many of us can watch a clean, decent program that does not offend us.

  24. So you are not Christian people at your network. How stupid can you be to suspend Phil Robertson from A&E,
If your gay employees are so important to your network, see how much income they generate for your TV corporation!!!!! Don't you get it? that the American people watch Duck Dynasty for their family and moral values. Seeing them together at the dinner table and praying together and telling God thank you for the food and good things that happen in their life is priceless. I wrote to the duckcommanders and told them to start their own TV channel. I hope they do, and I hope your channel will go out of business in 2014. You are Bah Humbug!

  25. I have watched a&e and even told people how proud I was that you allowed a show that closed in prayer in Jesus name. But a&e will get no more time on my tv until you allow Phil Robertson back to the show! 26. Don't worry folks. A&E will back down. Their bean counters will do the math. But if you really want your message heard. Don't block A&E, boycott the sponsors. Encourage everyone to do the same. Remember how the people spoke in the Chick-Fil-A thing? Chick-Fil-A stood their ground and the people supported them. I know it was a different issue but when the silent majority gets fed up, things get done. It's ALWAYS about the money.

  27. Our society is damned when we have so much sin in our world and we give in to the pressures of such. Every episode of Duck Dynasty, They end the show with the family around a table and they pray to God. If anyone actually read the Bible, They would see that God wiped out the entire city of Sodom & Gomorrah for their homosexual ways. Not only wiped it out, but never to have another city built upon its ground. It is crazy that it only takes a few to ruin something that many enjoy. If you want to take something off the air, take off the Bill Mahr's in life. It seams like every other show anymore is about homosexual relationships, premarital sex and murder. I guess they are ok to put on the air. One man speaks his opinion and he is built up as a bigot, hateful, insensitive and a ignorant person to a group of people who fight for "their rights" for spousal insurance and marriage. Why do they have to fight for it? Because it is wrong. I will never watch A & E again! In the beginning God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!!!!!

  28. PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT THOSE IN ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT STAND UP FOR AND WHAT THEY STAND AGAINST. Everything is Blurred for A&E. But not for me.

    I support Mr. Robertson.

"Robertson was suspended indefinitely by A&E after saying that "everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong... Sin becomes fine ... Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men."

I tried through DirecTV to have your channel removed but was told since it is part of the basic package that I could not so I did want you to know that I tried and having failed, I have blocked A&E. No one in my household will be allowed to tune into and therefore support your network. If you or anyone at your network would actually read the Bible you would understand what he said and why he said it but you choose to be offended by Word of God, So, See ya, (welll actually I won't).

  35. I was very disheartened when you decided to remove Phil from your network . I pray and believe that that the Robertson family will stand firm in their faith whether or not the fulfill their contract with you. The same God that took care of them last year will take care of them this year . I just don't understand your reasoning . You knew they were Christians when you signed them on . You know that their family is like myself and believe the Holy Bible to the written word of God . You knew that question is the first asked to any public Christian . It even gets asked of me from time to time . What did expect him to say ? Some people are not willing to lie just for the sake of their employer and the riches that may follow . You have brought this controversy on yourself and because of that, as much as I try , I don't really feel any empathy towards your network right now . If you don't like the message don't hire the messenger . PROBLEM SOLVED !! However , I do respect your right to include or exclude anyone from your network as I have never been a fan of having someone else shove their will down the throats of a private or corporate business . That includes you and Chic Fil A . However , I do love the fact that our market is based on free enterprise and you can take your money anywhere you desire . Life is about choices and their good and bad consequences to either . Phil has made his choice, the family will make theirs , you have made yours , and now I get to make mine . I will not watch or support your network in anyway . I have had your channel removed from my satellite package on threat of going with their competitor . Once again the beauty of free enterprise . I hope other like minded do the same . Regardless of how I feel , I still wish you all the blessings of Abraham .

  37. I back Phil Robertson!

I respect his right to speak freely about his believes, whether I agree with them or not. I am a veteran that has fought to protect that right.

I salute the Robertson family for standing up and supporting Phil. I will gladly stand beside each of you to try and right this unbelievable wrong perpetrated by A&E.

I've just finished blocking A&E from my satellite provider.

I will return A&E to viewable status at my home when I see A&E's public apology (media wide - not just on A&E) of trying to censor freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and they're proclamation from this point forward to support the American right of free speech and religious freedom.

  39. Good for A&E. It's not about their religious beliefs. It's the ignorance and intolerance of some of those beliefs and the misinformation. It boils down to why can't people stay out of other people's lives and pay more attention to bettering their own. It's not up to the human race to judge others. It's up to God.

    1. There is a HUGE difference between judging and acknowledging what is right and what is wrong – I didn’t make the rules God did and there is no arguing against them. People today have blurred RIGHT AND WRONG so much in order for them to justify their perversions – we are to accept this behavior because it is “Politically Correct” and “DON’T JUDGE THEM”? I am not judging them – I am tired of their standards being forced upon me and everyone else.
I do not like “Reality Shows” – I live reality! The craze of Duck Dynasty eludes me. However, I will record every show of Duck Dynasty only to support them. As others have decided, should you censor him – I will also block your network on all shows.

  40. A&E is pissing on our US Constitution by violating Phil's right to Freedom of Speech. BTW Daisy Treasures : you are a stupid twit, A&E better be concerned about the MANY anonymous users who will boycott A&E. I will contact their advertisers and encourage them to remove their advertising from A&E as well as their other networks due to A&E showing a bias against family oriented programming. I will no longer watch A&E and will block it on my television since they promote homosexuality, questionable morals and AIDS.

  41. Why are people surprised that a redneck spouted racist and anti gay remarks? What a waste of time. If you don't like it, don't watch it or buy anything related to it. One reason we haven't watched a&e in years. Trash is is trash.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am extremely disappointed in the position A&E took against Phil Robertson. The Bible teaches us that as Christians if we stand firm in our beliefs we will be persecuted. A&E has confirmed the truth of the Bible. The Robertson family is standing firm. As Christians, we believe what Jesus taught in the Bible. Todays daily devotion in the Open Windows publication says it better than I can, so I quote "Jesus is Truth, even when it offends. He is Truth, even when it's uncomfortable. He is Truth, even when we don't like what truth is. Jesus is also full of grace. He is Grace for those who offend; Grace for those who make us uncomfortable. He is Grace for those we don't like."

It is a shame that Duck Dynasty, a clean, family oriented program with no "beeps" in the dialogue is cancelled. Yet Dog the Bounty Hunter continues with its filthy dialogue and hardly a sentence without a series of "beeps". Shame on you A&E.

  43. You know what. Forget all the arguing about how everyone feels about this. If GQ asked the question then GQ got there answer. He is a true country man from Louisiana who doesn't have to share the same values as A&E corporate New York. And that's ok because this is America and not everyone is the same. After all that is what attracted A&E in the first place and they have been a success. They are "Backwoods" different. I don't see anyone saying crap about all the criminal figures that A&E broadcasted on and made millions on. Bottom line is A&E went through all of that just to let him back on.....I don't know if A&E made a long drawn stupid mistake or was this on purpose to boost up ratings

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well A&E, you caved to the lowest common denominator...cash flow. Yes, Mr. Robertson is free to express his opinion regarding homosexuality just as much as Westboro Baptist Church is. Well, there's an idea for your network. You can enlist Westboro Baptist as your next Christian reality show contestant....I bet you'd get hundreds of millions of followers for that one....how does it feel to be promoting hatred through your actions? Congratulations, A&E.
