Kim Vernon in bonner springs kansas city ks is the worst manager and is racist amd rude I wouldn't recommend her to anyone and also am considering closing my account and several other friends of mine are considering doing the same
I have had nothing but problems w/ academy bank located at Walmart in KC North in Platte county. The tellers are rude, and told me that if I want a statement, it would cost 5$ a page for statements. I tried to print statements that I needed from online banking. I spent 2 and a half hours on the phone because they couldnt seem to solve the problem of why I was having problems w the passcode they kept sending me. I kept getting put on hold, and transferred to one person after another w no help. After 2 and a half hours on the phone trying to get statements from online banking, with no luck, I went to the bank and told them my problem, w still no help. I then closed my account. Not one of the inept tellers tried to accommodate me. The only reason they gave me free statements was because I closed my account. Now, because most of the statements do not contain balances, which is what I need for health insurance verification purposes, I was told, today that I will be charged for "research" and it could cost $40-$45 to get statements, now, as my account is closed. The male teller was rude, and when I asked to talk to someone else, he stated that this is the only way I can proceed. I will never deposit money in this or any bank again. I prefer Community America credit union, where I get treated w dignity and respect, and don't have crazy fees for everything!!
After exhaustive hours spent online and on customer service calls, I am still unable to manage my account through Academy bank's online banking system. My landlord is angry and so am I. Being a four year customer yields me no value to them. They have given me the royal run-around for more than two months now. I am well known for my kind understanding and extreme patience. The fact that I am reporting this is a testament of a rediculous amount of unresolved angst. I find it hard to believe, with such horrible business practices, they remain in business. Shameful!

I myself have never seen such poor handling as far as banking goes. My husband is closing his account right now. I just posted our experience at the Glendale Arizona location, & if they delete it, I'll just repost, & Facebook the heck out of it.
My husband is closing his account as I'm typing this. The worst experience with banking I've ever seen! 1st his account info was stolen, & he had to cancel his card. Not only did he pay for a replacement card, but the teller NEVER sent the request. 2nd when he discovered the replacement card wasn't coming, & our bills are racking up, the teller DIDN'T put an apartment # on the address. So AGAIN no card! 3rd now we're 4 wks into this, & he finally gets a hold of customer service on the phone, & the CSR encouraged my husband to not return to that branch in Wal-Mart at 5605 W Northern Ave Glendale Arizona. She said she's surprised he's made it this long. I myself am looking to open an account, but I can guarantee it will NOT be with academy. Every person he dealt with with the exception of the CSR woman, was so incredibly RUDE, & could have cared less that our bills weren't getting paid, & at this point we're 24 hrs from losing our storage unit. Zero compassion, & today we're 7 wks in with NO debit card, & out 2 card replacement fees. Just want to say thanks for stealing my husband's $, & thanks for never sending a replacement card, & thanks for the problems you have caused us for nearly 2 months. I'd say that you guys need help fixing things here, but it was so bad that I have to say that you just flat out need to be put out of business!
I am more than upset. This banking establishment needs to be shut down. I should have never come back to this wack as bank. You need to TRAIN your EMPLOYEES ro give accurate information. I will be closing all 7 of my accounts by April 1 and I will do every thing in my power that anyone i know come in contact with even if i have ro stand out front and protest I will😤👊😤👊😤👊😤👊😤👊😤👊
Nikki, with the gangsta braids at the Chesterfield, MO branch is an identity thief. She reads every transaction in your account instead of simply processing the withdrawal, then shares your account balance and source of payment with non bank employees. She is not trustworthy. Her behavior is both unethical and illegal. Beware before banking here.
I have a major problem with this bank they over drafted me $500 and I even have a recipe from that day showing I had money in my account, I went to the bank and the lady said ohh there was a problem with the computer and it put more money in your account so you owe it back, I said that is bs even if so that wouldn't be my fault so I asked for a manager and she said they were not in, I called customer service and they wouldn't help me at all, get new employees
this is in regards to the academy bank on 7800 smith rd denver, co. there is a blonde teller who didnt want to serve me. grant it my teeth arent the best, but ever since they changed out the tellers and have a new mgr, they are anything but friendly. when i go to do business, im tired from working. but i never, never take it out on the teller. you used to have friendly tellers there, now theyre rude. what that teller did what at the very least was rude, if not discrimnation. i didnt appreciate her refusing to serve me.
This bank is such a horrible bank i have this acct for 2 years moved to another state and they took it upon their selves to close my acct they state due to inactivity then had a check deposited into my acct and they told me it would be available mon i called to see if the money was ava then they told me that it will not be ava till tomorrow tues. so i am closing my acct due to no responsibility.
I put in some disputes on a card thE Academy Bank call celled last week. I talked with several customer reps. On the phone since Friday. All of them next telling me it was being disputed. I should have my $$ unable any day. When I called This past Monday I was told the same thing & king HP on. I finally went to the Academy Bank that Monday afternoon. Her name was Deisy Gallegos. Personal Banker. I sat w/ her for an hour. She gave me 7 dispute #'s and said it would be in my account t within 2 days. So when it wasn't it there today . I asked her why? She lied to me & told me it would be 3-10 business days. I told that's not wat you told me.you said in a couple days. Meaning a few (2). After I get my check I'm switching banks.
