On April 22 Fingerhut deducted an authorized monthly payment from my checking account. Two days later on April 24 Fingerhut deducted another, this time, UNAUTHORIZED deduction from my checking account. I called several times and spoke with at least 2 supervisors who acknowledged the mistake (theft) but refused to return the money. They described their "corporate policy" that requires me to go to my bank and cancel the charge (the bank charges $35) and then send them a copy of my bank statement to prove the deduction was made. REDICULOUS! They know the deduction was made because the acknowledged that they took my money. They hold all the cards! Their "corporate policy" is law. I have no other recourse. Well, I do have other recourses! I have withdrawn Fingerhut's right to have access to my money since they abused the privilege. Further, I will make no further payments until the stolen money is returned. They threatened to add late charges and I hope they sue me so a judge can decide if Fingerhut "corporate policy" is indeed law.Is this the world in which we live? Responsibility is no longer appropriate? Do we teach our children if they make a mistake they should look to the injured party to fix it themselves? Despicable! This is outrageous! A company steals my money and refuses to return it and that is ok! Please do not dismiss this because the dollar amount is low. It is the principle of honesty and responsibility. That is not small, it is huge.Theft is illegal and someone at Fingerhut should face criminal theft charges. Sure, it is only a misdemeanor but if we have any respect for the law (US law, not Fingerhut law) then someone should be forced to face a judge.This could all be avoided if Fingerhut would simply "do the right thing" and return the money they stole.

I purchased a 3-drawer chest. The total was$130.00. I had already made several payments.They charged my account for $170.00!!!Prior to the supposed confrontation, they offered these cheap little costume rings - "complimentary" for being a good customer.I began calling the numbers they gave me to straighten out the supposed misunderstanding. I was ignored ad given two phone numbers to call.NO HELP!The second number I called was the "Jewelers" they bought the little costume rings from and they waned their $$ from me! They were supposedly "complimentary!"Needles-to-say- I won't be shopping with Finger Hut anymore.
They are a scandalous company!!! They ripped me off and it is costing me $800. They will be ashamed and then some when they have to answer to a higher power for their actions!!!
How long does it take to process a payment? I will never deal with Finger hut again the way they have messed up my payment account. They turn back money to me and then charged me for what THEY did. Now they have had 20 days to process my large payment and they still have not done it. I am through with finger hut.
I have been a customer of Fingerhut for over 20 years. Then this happened, a return was lost. It is somewhere between the post office and the return department at Fingerhut. I have explained the matter to them many times, however, they are still demanding I pay the bill. The company is now calling me about 8 times a day. Fingerhut is horsing meso bad I can set may clock by them. I do not know what to do anymore. There must be something the law can do about this kind of dogmatic treatment by a company.

I agree. They promised that my billing due date would be changed to a later date in the month but it didn't. It also ticks me off that every time I call those idiots that they have to go thru the spill that the call was an attempt to collect on a debt when in fact I was the one that called them. Then when you get angry with them & may let one or two bad words they end the call making you angrier. I have had this happen on more than one occasion. I had to call 3 or 4 times to finally talk to someone about my situation. I wish I had enough money to buy the company then heads would roll so to speak. I would make some major changes.
I don't even know who had my number before, but when I got my new number, Fingerhut began harassing me, first with texts, but, stopped those. Now, they call me sometimes 10 times a day. I send their different numbers straight to voicemail, and there is never anybody there, the voicemail is quiet, with some creepy, inaudible, whisper, yet, my voicemail to text translation of the silence always says the words "Hello" and "Test". It's really creeping me out. When I call the numbers back, their system will not let me do anything without giving it the last 4 digits of my SSN, which I wouldn't do, even if I had ever been a customer? That is just dome shadiness right there. I cannot bypass this command by pressing 0 to speak to an operator to tell them to stop calling, because they are calling the wrong person, constantly. Multiple times a day. I have sent an email, explaining that I just got this number, and to stop bothering me, even going so far as to say I would be contacting both the BBB and FTC about the matter of their harassment if I received one more phone call from them. I said it needs to stop NOW, but, I swear, it seems like they started calling more frequently after that email was sent! Fingerhut is, literally, stalking me, even though I don't owe them anything, i have never dine business with them, and have no desire to, ever. Also, what a completely stupid name! They are out of line, thid is out of hand, and beyond a nuisance. It is causing me serious stress. I am ready to take legal action now that they have ignored my email, and have provided no way for me to have the matter corrected with an actual employee over the phone.
If you call the corporate number listed above, it does not even ring. My phone said I was connected for a whole minute, and I had full reception. No ringing, no busy signal, no automated operator, nothing. Creepy... Is this even a legit company? After reading the above reviews, and from my experience, this is a very unethical business!
Someone has open and account up with this company with my name. I have been trying to get in touch with their fraud department for over two months and every time I call, this department it rings and goes straight to a voicemail in which someone is suppose to get back to you within 24 to 48 hours. I am a working person and I don't have time to sit home because of the way you run your company in which no one ever contacts me. I would never recommend or open an account with your company as this has been an appalling experience. The representatives have not been very concerned and even the supervisor I talked to was rude. You are running a very unethical business!
This company has been calling me for the past several months looking for someone named George. When I tell them they have the wrong number, they ask me if George lives there. I've asked them repeatedly to remove my number from their calling lists, but they keep calling. I've reported them to FTC.gov. Hope that works!
These people are the most rude, unprofessional and disrespectful customer service reps. that I have ever spoke with. They are argumentative on the phone and will even hang up in your face without cause. I closed my account due to this! Never do business with Fingerhut!
I ordered some electronic equipment for myself after Christmas. I chose delivery address to be the same as billing address, which was my home address. Somehow, when the package went out, it had my name and my step-daughter's address on the label. Now, I had just sent some Christmas gifts to her address for my new granddaughter just 3 weeks before. So I guess they must have thought I lived there even though my actual address information has always been the same as my billing address. As soon as I saw the error, I called in and told Customer service that they needed to re-route the package before it got delivered. I was told they were in contact with UPS and would have that done. I texted my stepdaughter so she would know what was going on and would keep a lookout in case they were unable to re-route. Next thing I know, I get a text from my step-daughter saying that she and her fiancee got home and found a package on the doorstep! So, then I called Customer Service back in order to get a return label so she could send the package back. After going through 3 or 4 different very frustrating calls, I finally called it quits with the regular customer service and called the corporate offices. There, I allegedly spoke with one of the assistants to the CEO who did re-order the merchandise for me and indicated she was going to send out a return label to get the other package back. That was on January 8th - my stepdaughter is still waiting for the label and one of the items that I originally ordered is now on back order! Today (Jan. 21st) I try calling to find out why the label has not been sent. After the 6th call, I finally get an answering machine for another assistant to the CEO. I am to the point of not paying until this is straightened out. This is NOT how customer service is to be done!!!!!!!

I try to cancel my family members account today, due to the fact that they have passed away, decease. I was told by customers service representative that I could not close this account because I was not the designated card holder.How Stupid Is That, my family member is gone. I place an order with Fingerhut on the 18th of December and was guaranteed Christmas delivery. My order was sent out by Surepost on the 21st. As of today it is still setting in Minnesota. UPS says it will not be delivered until the 29th. How do you tell a child that they have no Christmas gift. Called customer service and got someone overseas who kept reading me the same line over and over and then she finally hung up on me. Chatted with someone online who was in Minnesota and he said I would just have to wait for the item that they had more orders than they anticipated. They will refund me the shipping and send me a 15% discount coupon which I told them I would not use. Been a customer for over 15 years and always paid my bill on time. Will be sending a letter to the corporate office. Looks like my attorney will handle a case of false advertisement for me. GOODBYE Fingerhut.
Front page of there site says no credit hit if you apply for credit. I did and was alerted by my credit co I had lost 2 points for hard inquiry report. Called the idiots and they can only say sorry. I am going to sue them and will not give them my business and hope all who read this will no longer do business with them
This company is totally wrong when they say that they help people!I have been with them for 4 years never missed a payment always on time,but all of a sudden you get in a accident and are unable to work there so called safe insurance you get from them doesn't make good on there word to make your payments you get a late pay on your credit report,what good is this company only to set you back again .I spent 4 hours on the phone with this company only to get the run around,what ever you do stay away from them it's a mail order company that is able to report to the credit bureaus

I have only been a member of Finger hut for a short period time. My first order came with out a part. I waited almost 2 months for the part. Recently, I ordered a laptop that my granddaughter needs for school. We opened it today and the mouse is not working making the laptop inoperable. Your track record so far is not good with me. I guessthat I will have to wait a month or more to receive a new one. I will have to incur the cost of purchasing another one today. I pay the bill or timeandpay much more than is required. I'm sure thatyou will not respond because after reading all of the other complaints you really don't care about customer satisfaction.
I ordered a Shark Pocket Hard-Floor Cleaner on 7/29/2016, and it came without the carpet attachment on 8/04/2016 and since then I've contacted Fingerhut three times by phone, 9 times by email [email with Barb 144018 and Alexa 463153] and first was told it was being shipped on 8/06/2016, then nothing. Then I was told it was being researched, results, nothing. Then they were out of stock...from a part that is supposed to be in the same box? That on 9/23/2016, they would receive the parts and ship the missing carpet attachment to me...nothing happened and now one of their supervisors and a representative said I have to mail the whole product back to them and that they would send me the return label and that "I" had to find or purchase a box to ship the product back at my cost for their mistake...not going to happen, so once again they said they'd mail me the missing attachment once Fingerhut got them and then it would be up to 3 weeks before it is shipped. total time since I purchased it to the present...is 72 days. I got nothing but lies and excuses. I tried contacting their corporate office...what a joke, nothing but a recording to order products or a catalog and two other items like working for them, etc.... choices and if you press the "0" button for the operator, it hangs up on you. After all of these years as a loyal customer...they screwed me...did I mention I'm a disabled senior that just had a stroke last month and my left vocal cords are paralyzed? Yes I mentioned this to the supervisor because I live alone...total Scam!
Ridiculous! I have enjoyed my purchases with Fingerhut (well some of them) but I have to complain about the outragous shipping charges they charge. I pay more for shipping that I do for the product. My last order was $42.00 but the shipping was $89.00.....I don't get it. Going forward I will have limit my purchases. That's diffently not a fair practice.
I am a new customer with you guys and I am trying to establish credit. My first payment was due on Nov 7 I paid my acct on Nov 6 online using my visa Debit card I even put recurring payment on 5th so I wldnt forget to make payments.. I even have a confirmation # now I’ve been getting a call that my acct is past due and I tried calling your Customer Service Department which was the WORSE EXPERIENCE.. He could not help me and when I asked to speak to a supervisor he kept saying why did I want to talk to a supervisor they would tell me the same thing etc… And I said because maybe supervisor can key in confirmation code and find out what happened he said I have all them codes too etc etc I said let me speak to your supervisor as he rudely huffed and puffed on phone he said I guess hold on… Then she gets on phone said just make another payment without making any attempt what so ever to figure out as to why I had a payment confirmation code.. I explained to her that my credit is on the line she said well just make another payment so I hung up. I’ve been trying to contact someone above that department to see if anyone can HELP ME BECAUSE my dad use to be a customer with you guys for years and he never said bad things about you guys but WOW THIS WAS HORRIBLE…. I wouldn't even waste your breath on these people! They are the biggest crooks and NONE of them know their jobs. They speak from a script. I have been threw the ringer with them over the past three days and my head is completely spinning with all in inconsistent lies and back peddling. They will never admit their faults nor will they help you. Close your account and find a real credit company to help build your credit, Because they will completely ruin it.
Does anyone know of any Class Action law suites against these crooks? Any Attorney would jump on it if they were smart. It's easy money. These people can't tell the truth if their lives depended on it. I have talked to 7 or 8 representatives over the past three days and have received a different story or phony "policy" from each and every one of them. One of the "supervisors" even gave me an incorrect fax number to show them proof that they were wrong! They have literally made me and my young daughter homeless as of December 1st and not a damn one of them even considered helping me out. I have been an excellent customer, paying ALL my payments on time and even double of what was due as well. They mistakenly put a "30 day late" on my credit report from over a year ago, but then claimed that they only report 60 delinquencies. I told the girl that I was talking to at the time that I was looking right at my credit report and there was a 30 day late starring me in the face. She basically said that it wasn't possible because they only report 60 day or greater. I faxed her (so I thought) my credit report, showing her the 30 day late and asked her to call me as soon as she received it. several minutes went by so I decided to call back. Well now this woman wasn't available anymore (no shocker) so I spoke with a new "supervisor". He tells me that they don't have a fax and that only corporate receives faxes! So I asked, well then who in the heck received my fax? With absolutely NO HELP from this man either, I had to hang up the phone before my heart literally exploded. Someone screwed up and reported something that they shouldn't and instead of fixing their mistake, they continue to push you off on someone else and keep shoving lies up your rear. Unbelievably unprofessional!
If anyone can found out about a class action I would really like to get in on it. Fingerhut ships out products that are damaged and it is like pulling teeth to get it replaced. They charge full price for the replacement piece until they get the returned item. Fingerhut does not know what the word CUSTOMER SERVICE means. It is all about the money. When you call Fingerhut I get agents that I can't understand and they give me the run around. I will not order from Fingerhut again. You never get the item you order that looks like in their catalog. Would love to get into a class acting against Fingerhut.
Fingerhut held out four payments this month. Because of this i don't have enough money to last me until i get my next check on the third of next month. I need to buy some food and i told them this but they don't care. I have taken them off auto pay and they will not get another payment until i get my money back. Who the hell pays four payments in one month? I sure as hell don't i can't afford it. I am 68 years old and on social security and they know this. They are heartless bastards!
My mother has had a Fingerhut account for many years in which she has a great standing with them and had never had a late payment. Recently we just went through hurricane Harvey where my parent’s flooded ad lost 80% of everything they had. When my mother called and spoke with Fingerhut she was told that her payment for September would not due and she would just pick up payments in October. She later received a letter of PAST DUE from Fingerhut. When she called and spoke with them again they told her that if she did not make the past due payment and the current month’s payment that they would turn her over the credit bureau. I had her call back and we requested to talk with a supervisor is see why they would lie to her. The supervisor JASON - E9D employee ID so he said was of no help and he agreed with the terms and the credit bureau filing. I requested the number t the corp. office and the CEO office at which he gives the number listed above which noting but a cop number so they can avoid doing the right thing. I will be filing against them with the BBB in hopes that something to can be done to company that is a fake as this one. If Fingerhut really care about their customer they would uphold there agreements as their customer do.
