  1. While I realize you are acquired by Lowes, however, you would increase plant/ nursery sales if you advertized that all your growers have taken the "NO Neonicotinoid Pesticide Pledge". None of the plants Orchard would sell would kill pollinators. It is a brilliant marketing ploy. By advertizing Neonicotinoid free plants, you position your nursery dept.for more sales from extremely concerned consumers who will buy with Orchard if they know their plants are good for the environment. People ARE aware, and they are looking for alternatives From Friends of the Earth email newsletter, " We tested “bee-friendly” garden plants from Home Depot, Lowe's and Walmart in 18 cities across the U.S. and Canada. We found more than half of the plant samples tested contained neonicotinoid (neonic) pesticides at levels that could harm or kill bees with no warning to consumers. So, instead of helping bees in our gardens, we may be unknowingly poisoning them....The new study confirms what our pilot study revealed last year: plants pre-treated with bee-harming pesticides continue to be sold to unsuspecting gardeners. These toxic, long-lived insecticides not only harm bees, but can also harm butterflies, earthworms, birds and other beneficial animals in our gardens for months to years. " Think of numbers of consumers who will look to Orchard for their plant purchases and the adjacent purchases such as fertilizer, lawn mowers, weed wackers, etc. You will have a niche that would set Orchard Supply apart from the other big box retailers. I am a Orchard Nursery Employee at the Meridian Store, and I am urging you to consider this.

  2. I bet OSH will take this post down: purchased a LIFETIME WARRANTY kitchen faucet and now, they don't want to honor it. Called the manager Kurt at 831.475.7701.

Them telling me that I have to keep the box and packaging is just an excuse. If you kept every box for things you purchase, you would have no where to live in your own home or purchase a 2nd home.

Don't believe the "Lifetime Warranty" from OSH as the Bridgewater company OSH was the PARENT/OWNER:

http://trade.mar.cx/US78153859 what liars!!! Honor your warranty!

  3. I would like to know where you purchased the three large rustic bird houses that you have on display in the garden center at the Hawthorn street store in Torrance, CA.? I was told by you staff that they are not for sale, too bad! Can ou help me?

  4. I shopped at OSH on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena CA last Sunday. I was appalled that there is extensive remodeling going on during the busy holiday season. Confused customers were wandering around pushing through heavy plastic to find products, most of which had been relocated. Can you imagine Macy's or Nordstrom remodeling at this time? Stupid decision which is sure to drive away customers. I have told my friends. They are taking their business to Home Depot rather than face that mess!.

    1. As a serious shopper of both hardware and soft goods I do understand their actions. The holiday shopping season in December, while insane in most retail outlets is not that busy in hardware stores. The goal of the hardware store was to complete the remodel by "their" holiday season, which begins with spring in March. Go back after the remodel, IT IS AMAZING!

  5. purchased your SunMate 50ft coil hose last year. Have been using it frequently but not for the last 2 months. Used it today 1-23 and there were at least 25 small holes throughout the hose. Not worth $29.99 or is it you get what you paid for.

  6. I received a mailer yesterday: "GET TO KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD Orchard," touting your new South Pasadena store. Problem is, it's NOT in my neighborhood. Maybe you sent it because your corporation has completely ignored my neighborhood, the west end of Whittier, so you think we'll be willing to make the drive, but this new South Pasadena store isn't even the closest OSH to my home; the Pasadena Hastings Ranch store is, at 10 miles distance. These stores are three times as far from my neighborhood as they are from each other. Seems kind of silly to cluster them all together and leave the entire southeast of the San Gabriel void of stores. You guys up there in San Jose ever heard of Google Maps?

So, from here in Whittier, no thanks. Either come and actually contribute to our neighborhood with jobs and taxes, or don't tease us with ads expecting us to waste gas.

  7. Worst customer service at the Salinas Davis road location! Been shopping there for years; nothing has changed even when the management team changed! Seems to be a systematic cultural theme where the customer must wait; it is okay to inspect a customer's merchandise and touch delicate blooms; when asked for assistance with a heavy bag, I was told in a directive you would give a teenager, "Go back and show him where it is." ; and to top it off, after waiting for the customer in front of me, I was told to move my basket aside while the clerk puts my order on hold to help the next customer - I was ticked off and left the store without my purchase. I have waited in line before and told when I got to the front that I needed to go to another line. do not know about you, but clerks should tell you they are closing to save you from waiting in their line and then having to go to the end of another long line.
Rather than get upset, I just had to leave. Maybe the management will ask why customers leave when treated poorly. It seems to me that people who have a sales position should consider the customer and treat them like they want them to come back.

I am starting a national campaign to stop poor treatment of valuable customers in OSH stores. The biggest mistake they make is that they spend so much money on advertising and think that all they need to do is to get people to come inside their stores ~ not so, we can shop anywhere we like. There is way too much competition out there and lower prices at other stores.

BOYCOTT OSH UNTIL THEY APPOLOGIZE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!!!

  8. Who or what team in OSH creates employee training programs?

  9. I will not buy from OSH anymore. I use my club member to purchase a $23 item and $1.34 pack of washers so in case I misplace my receipt I have back up. I went to the Foster City store. Well I misplaced the receipt. OSH couldn't find the $23 item but found the $1.34 washers in their system. They won't take back the $23. Their computer system and customer service is terrible.

  11. Went to the Modesto store and purchased a table-top patio heater on sale. Paid cash. Tried to use it, and it was a joke. The only way you could get warm is to sit on it and then you would get burned. Flame was very tiny. So I brought it back today. The clerk asked for my driver's license. I said, "why? I paid cash.". It's our policy, was her reply. o I asked for the manager. Was told if I didn't show my license, I would not get my refund. These people are collecting information on everyone they can force into it. How convenient for the government. I refuse to patronize ANY company/corporation/store that holds your cash hostage (like bestbuy). The manager got angry when I gave her the "heil Hitler" salute, and said she "trespassed" me from that property. Lol, Like I would ever shop at ANY osh again. She was rude and arrogant in her manner and demeanor. Have already talked to my contractor son, and other family members; all in all, will only be able to get about 25 people to boycott osh. But they may know people who will as well. And I still have to call friends, one an electrician, one a plumber. And it could mushroom. If we all vote against things with our dollars on a daily basis, we can make a difference and change things. STOP OSH FROM TRACKNG CUSTOMERS IN THEIR DATABASE!!! BOYCOTT OSH AND BESTBUY!!!!!!!

  12. sorry to hear that orchard supply decided to stop honoring our veterans by discontinuing its veterans discount.
I will take my business to Lowes and Home Depot, they honor our veterans.

  13. I have to echo the comment above regarding a discount to our Veterans. All the pennies add up to the dollars. Where were you during the Vietnam War? Warm and fuzzy in your home? My husband was in the trenches under despicable conditions and I am just thankful he came home without any injuries. Home Depot and Lowes offer a 10% discount to all Vets. They will get ALL of our purchases from this day forward. All of our Vets deserve some consideration. Want a wake-up call? Go and visit a Vet at Walter Reed Hospital.

  14. Today a store manager text my personal phone with job accusations of getting me fired and of theft.
While he's clocked in @ store #500, Matts accusations of theft and threatening management skills are a Zero, now the Manager David review to take action on this matter. I find this very UN professional and UN becoming a manager and assistant manager.

  16. POOR SERVICE

I lived in Sebastopol, CA for 17 years.

The local ACE hardware – abut two acres in area always had what I was looking for or offered to get it – pickup in a couple of days.

Your La Brea store almost a block long – last fore times I looked for something – don’t carry it and NO OFFER TO ORDER IT.

Why a store many times as large doesn’t carry my request or order it????
