  1. I ate at hometown buffet palmdale,ca. 01/05/13 store# 0157.It was 40 degrees temperature inside the resturant. No one asked us if the temperayure would disturb our meal or even told us there was no heat inside the buffet this 17 degree morning.the plates were so cold that the food was completly cold after 2bites.Coffee machine would not produce more than warm coffee.I eat at this location every week and usually with 2 or more people.Ticket says on bottom 0014 08:52 #09 jan.05-13 reg0001 #138

  2. Today I went to the Hometown in City of Industry. My child is 5 and can serve themselves and had to go to the bathroom and ran then my child was playing with their friend and I told them to walk. Yes some old lady complained at 4pm when there was no one there. Manager said my kid needs me to go serve my child and make sure my child walks. One I shouldn't have to serve my child when they are big enough to serve themselves. I know on their family night kids are running around every where. If kids that go to school and serve themselves there and can't do it here I will start taking my business to the Golden Corral and take all 20 people I know that I have go there go somewhere else cause we all have kids under 10 but are 5 amd older that can serve themselves and I guess your servers should stop serving kids until their parents come. I promise you a lot of parents will be upset and say something

    1. Your kids may be well behaved & that's a credit to you... however; where I go Sacto, CA. some parents let their kids run wild, who wants to eat any food when a child has been sticking their fingers into it, or worse, taking a bite & putting it back, I've seen this, complained to the mngr, mngr says something to the parents, then the parents raise hell... my children wouldn't do that, etc. I truly wish more parents would be more responsible re: their kids in a public venue.

  3. Last Friday night, June 14, 2013 at the Mira Mesa, Ca. restaurant, I observed something unusual; the manager was staring at a customer putting food into the "To Go" container. Later I found out, the new manager's name was Lee, he approached the customer and said, "I don't like the way you are overloading your container with food, you must be able to close the lid. I tell you what, I want you to leave and don't come back". I was shock of how this manager treated this customer. When I looked back, I saw the customer ready to leave with his food in the bag, but the manager was still in the poor guy's face, arguing who knows what. With an attitude UN-becoming of this manager, no wonder my family said, "As soon as, the competitor restaurant is in our neighborhood we will take our business there". I also promise, to take this one step further, to tell my friends, to tell there friends of this horrifying incidence.

  5. Ive been going to the Parma Ohio location ever since it opened many years ago. It use to be great. I would go atleast 3 times a week. Today I am sad to say that I must not return ever again. The food was over cooked and very dry. The salad bar has been a mess with brown lettuce and always out of veggies. They never replace the food in the trays, so I end up paying for a few spoons of jello and melon, because that's all that is worth eating. It cost me $10.50 (including beverage) And I ended up not eating. I told the manager, and it was like talking to a wall. He was so smug and did not even offer us a coupon or refund. He's a punk and should not be there. The bathrooms are nasty, the food was just awful. I will no longer visit this place again. I wouldn't feed this slop to my dog. The food is sometime un-reconizeable. They are short staffed and the manager, a young guy with a shaved head, is on a power trip. The cooks need to be re-trained. I'm not saying that all locations are bad. There is a great one that's about a 1hour and 15 minute drive in wooster ohio which is just the best. They know how to do chicken right. The place is clean and the manager is just wonderful. They make sure that you have a great experience. Shame on you Parma Ohio location.

    1. I recently visited hometown buffet in Gilroy Ca #0322.The cashier was friendly. The food was perfect temp and very satisfying. My kids loved it, they were able to serve themselves. And of coarse you have to keep an eye on your child it's for their own safety. It's a restaurant not a playground! Well our server was awesome. Restrooms were clean and lobby was clean.. We will definitely keep coming back. My overall experience was on Monday July 22nd at about 12 :30 lunch time. Thank you hometown for making us feel at home.

    2. This sounds like the one in Louisville, KY. Some days the food is good, others not so. I hate brown lettice or hard baked chicken. Sometimes they only have cooked broccoli stems, no heads. At home I throw away the stems. They have lost lots of business. We don't eat their as much as we used to.

    3. I also stopped at the Parma HomeTown Buffet on Snow Road to pay $29.87 for me and my grandson the food was sooo bad that I could only eat some beets and a spoon of mac and cheese. Nothing was hot or even warm. We will never go back to a HomeTown Buffet ever again. The bathrooms were so dirty and hardly any soap to wash your hands, I guess the employees DO NOT wash their hands either!!!! The place should be closed down and cleaned it is probably a Health Hazard to eat there!

  6. I went to the Home Town Buffet in Santa Clara, CA on July 22, 2013. I went in to eat with a group of friends and was enjoying my meal when I overheard one of the workers tell another worker to keep the dessert out in display even after a customer had reported flies/fruit flies had been flying around the food. I was disgusted by the thought that the food other people are eating have been contaminated by flies and that the worker named Joe, which I later found out was some sort of management there, had said this to one of his employees. I know some places do this but to overhear this as I eat? HomeTown Buffet has lost a lot of respect that day and I am sure my friends and I will never eat at least at that location ever again. THANKS A LOT JOE.

  9. What happens is that many people eat at places like this where there is a good supervisor, who is attending what their workers, and does not care of your employees make, one that I had trouble fort lauderdale also, minutes the food was not eating or children could eat the food so high in salt and pepper, after lunch I went to the cashier to give complen for this meal, she had a bad attitude like she bought and paid for this meal and the supervisor no good very bad attitude I will not return to this site and all my friends but I will say no more at this restaurant walked rightly so empty this crap food that kill

  10. what happens is that company like this, do not care what they cook and give the public is like saying you pay and eat what we serve and if you dont like it goodbye, and when a company does not do a few cases customers who complain are the ones that really raise their voices to say and comment on this restaurant, it hurts HOMETOWN BUFFET is not paying attention to the client saying their food in some restaurant they have, the worst thing is that if we put cases and observe workers with them would see the reality of the site and if a supervisor is not pending at this meal the place comes to low, very careful gentlemen owners of this site

  11. they say they are the best food in the world because they are wrong, this food is not bad salty variety is very spicy, is not healthy because all the salads are not protected and very outdoors without protecion where bacteria are faster in perch, this meal can bring many diseases and damage the nervous system, beware of those who eat at these restaurants because I have a lot of experience

  12. For me there are many managers who do their job and put down the prestige of the restaurant if the company put more attention to their places think they would avoid this to happen and the food was excellent, I've eaten at these places and here is where I live in rhode island and the food is super good, but I've eaten at other places where food is terrible about to go to a hospital for intoxication of food, shame that they have to blame are those supervisors who can not meet even their customers and do not put food atenccion to draw here is the biggest problem.

  13. I recently had dinner with about 60 of my family members after a funeral at the Hometown Buffet in California on Sepulveda street. The restaurant was filthy the bathrooms were filthy there was trash on the bathroom floor. Toilet paper was everywhere, empty toilet seat cover boxes were just throw around. The sinks were wet and had hair in them and old food. The buffet area was totally disgusting, you have to pick up at least 8 plates ju.st to find one clean one. The same goes for the silverware, I took out at least 10 forks which all had old food on them. To have clean silverware I had to wash them in the sink behind the buffet area. I have been to a lot of hometown buffets but this one by far is the most disgusting

OK not sure if this is going to anything to fix the problem. My husband and I stop in the Modesto CA Store#0716. This store was so dirty. I work for your food supplier. I know we sell really good products to your store. Went to the salad bar there was no forks so I ask your store manger if I could please get some forks. There were other people waiting for forks as well. She must not of heard me correct. She proceed to walk to the meat station and brought me back a fork that had food stuck to it. Really that's just crazy. I started to look at the salad bar the products that were out, had been sitting there had to be all day. When I went to stir the ranch dressing it had mold in in the container. I ask for fresh product. The manger try to give me some story. One of her crew members must of used wrong product. Told her no your not keep good products and not changing out in a timely manner. and not keeping up with cleaning this store . I also told her why are you putting out frozen vegetables on your salad bar. People cannot eat that. As I continue to walk the store you can smell the garbage that had not been taken out. I can not believe that the DM of this store gets paid to do what? I have taken pictures of all this mess and yes I will send it to the health department of Stanislaus County to go in and shut this store down. Until correction have been made I'm very sad that my company is selling such good product to such a bad company.

  17. Found out Louisville's Hometown Buffet is open Christmas Day. This is a shame. Employees are very unhappy and I cannot blame them. This is a day all unnecessary businesses should be closed. Let your employees spend Christmas with their family. I bet corporate won't be working. Saw the CEO on Undercover Boss. If you are as caring as you want us to believe, then close for Christmas. Also, turn up the heat here and at Ryans. Food gets cold too fast when it's colder inside than out. Ryan's is always too cold, summer or winter.

  18. Recently went to Mira mesa Home town Buffet, which we have been going to for 9 years....As we sat down there was this manager apparentely new sitting down at one of their guest tables crouched over and condesending and arrograntly speaking to two young waitresses right in fron tof us. We had just sat down at the table right behind them.. I was so tempted to approach the manager and express concern over his hidious professional manner in front of paying guests to his restaurant...Dont you think a professional manager would speak to employees in a private setting, not one that all the guests can listen to. I felt bad for the two female employees....New manager needs some classesin professional management

  19. Today my family celebrated my grand daughters birthday at Tue home town buffet in Azusa, California and we we had a grand time. I'm so grateful to the General Manager Marshall and our attendant Patty for the great service they provided. I called ahead of time to see if they would be able to prepare a separate meal for my brother who has cancer and cannot eat meals that are seasoned when the general manager Marshall said they would not have a problem accommodating us I thanked God for him and the fact that my brother would be able to spend time with us. Marshall and Path were great to us and I would recommended this location to all my friends. Great Job to the General Manager Marshall and our attendant Path. Thank you so much for the great service. God bless.

  22. Im a employee that works at the hometown in Hemet ca. 92545. Im so sick and tired of all three of my managers. They think they could talk down on me for whatever reason I do not care if I only make 8 dollars an hour Im a very hard worker and im tired of the direspect from them. Im 20 Years old I know im still really young but I still deserve respect from them managers. Its taking alot for me to not explode on one of them. If its not one thing its another there always complaining about somthing must I remind im a very hard worker and.they just dont care about that. And they are all Mexican. Im not being racist because im Mexican myslef. It just feels like once they have authority they take advantage and think there better than us employees. I try to talk and be a civil person .but im not doing it anymore. But now that im thinking about it there all just probably miserable because they have to settle being a manager at hometown But its not our fault They couldnt land there dream job. Maybe they should appreciate life a little more and stop being some stuck up mexican managers. I know it sounds dumb for me to say those things about my own ethnic background but its true.

  23. I do miss the Non-Fat, Low Sugar, Yogurt machine, since I was addicted to the stuff, choosing to believe that the substance tasted like ice cream, but was "healthy"(-er) than the substance coming out of the soft serve ice cream machine.

Please, what happened, just a cost savings?

Our group of EV owners eats at HTB locations twice a month, and we have almost completed our fourth year of meetings.

In general we get excellent service from a very helpful, friendly staff and management, at both the Santa Ana 17th street location, and the Cerritos, CA location.

The Tracy Ca is the worst Hometown Buffet in the 209 area the food is always gross the manager is always yelling at his employees right in front of customers he looks like a really fake person trying to say hi to you one moment and than screaming at a employee two seconds later right in front for everyone to see. Not very professional!!

  28. My husband I have been regular customers at our local Home Town Buffett since they actually opened the place. Last week we went for a quick dinner and I got myself the new little serving size Steak tips with mashed potatoes. Ice Cold! I told the server and they said they would check the tables for proper heat. I got myself a glass of water, it tasted like some awful cleaning product was in it. The water had smell some what like chlorine or something. Thinking it might be the glass I got a clean glass and some water. That tasted just fine so it had to be the glass. I asked to speak to a manager and told her the problem. I told her I was concerned about the effects of the water I had drunk. I did not want to be sick. I had a clean glass and offered her a taste which she did not accept! Then I said the water had a bad smell also. She did smell the water and said "I don't smell anything." So of course I took the glass and swirled the water and the smell was quite apparent! She did smell it and said she did smell a chloride odor. Her response was that they had been slowly replacing the older type of glasses because they did clean very well. They are in the process of replacing them all. I told maybe they ought to just toss all of the old ones out then! Her lack of concern was just to much form. So I sent an email to headquarters, got no response. I then called them and filed a complaint. 3 days later we received a call from the manger saying the next time we came in they would give us free drinks!! Free drinks GEE Whiz!! . I called about a health issue about the drinks there and they offered us free drinks. They have lost us s customers for sure. Lots of customers were unhappy that niht with the cold food! Oh yeah this is one the CEO visited when he was on Undercover Boss!

  29. On 10-7-14 my friend and I ate dinner at the Visalia,Ca HTB #0747 very disappointed. I am a vegetarian, for the price that is charged they should offer at least one meatless entree. When I asked the manager about a meatless entree, I was told,"There's broccoli,'" I said that's not a main dish." Well, the beans don't have meat in them, I was told. What happened to Anthony Wedo's promise of a better experience at Home Town Buffet? That they would make it right if the customer wasn't happy? Well, sounds like to me there are a lot of unhappy customers out here. It's NOT my favorite place to eat anymore!
