    I'm shocked and sad to discover many stores, including Moses Lake, WA, are NOT ADA accessible for walkers and wheelchairs; exterior doors and aisles are too narrow for handicapped clients. This sends an extremely negative message, and may violate ADA public accessibility guidelines.

  2. Corporate Staff: I am appalled when I came into Hastings on June 20th and found a playboy magazine display on the floor where young children can see this. I find this very offensive. I said something to the manager and was told that this came from corporate and that's where it had yo be. I think you should rethink your policies and display these types of magazines appropriately. I can buy my books other places if this continues to be your policy.

  3. Unlike in the past, today's "men's magazines" often contain sexually explicit photos. Although these magazines are shrink-wrapped, they are sometimes taken out of the adult section, unwrapped and viewed elsewhere in the store. When the user is finished, he or she simply leaves the mag in the section in which it was viewed, making it possible for any man, woman or child to encounter the publication. Several times I have alerted Hastings associates to this problem. It seems that the only solution is for Hastings to either ban such magazines outright, sell them under the counter, or constantly check all of their sections for x-rated merchandise.

  4. Corporate Staff: I JUST HAD THE WORST AND LAST EXPERIENCE WITH A HASTINGS STORE. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT BACK IN ONE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.... Now for the story.. I purchased the Grandson a new remote controlled helicopter.. This was not a real cheap one eiter. I got it home took it out of the box and guess what the darn thing does not work.. I then took it back within about 2 hours. Only to be told that we do not take things back.. I said want to trade it for one that works. No we cannot do that I was told again. So what can I do? You can call the 1-800 number on the box and good luck to you Sir. Have a nice day.. After a little bit of grumbling I kinda said with my outside voice that I will never step foot in a Hastings again ever.. Then I commented something about thank God for wal-mart they take things back no questions asked.. By the way if you want my information just respond back to this and I will be more than happy to e-mail you all my information and where this happened at... Thank you for your time....

  5. Hastings took away happy hour in Cafe part which is awful. I witnessed customers walking oit because there was no longer happy hour from 6 pm to 8 pm. I will no longer be a customer there. Maybe you should revise it. I can even deal with buy one get one half off from 6-8 pm. That other happy hour mess is awful.

    I have noticed that the long-time Sherman, TX location has recently made some changes to their video rental department that are make Hastings appear to be going down hill. The new releases aren't of the quality that they used to have and the amount of time that the new releases are in "New Release" status are much much shorter and it makes it hard to know which movies I've watched or haven't watched. I hate to say it but it looks like Red Box just isn't enough competition for our area anymore :(

  7. The Hastings store in Wenatchee, WA. was recently remodeled. Lots of toys and child junk greets you inside the store. I would call it a downgrade as has been the opinion of numerous others. My wife and I were disappointed to find the early childhood book collection now minimal due to the reappropriation of space. The corporate people did a walk-through afterwards and did nothing about the constantly loud squeeking sound from the vent at the back of the store. This is very loud and obnoxious. Hey, corp boys,if you really care about a store you would think you would do something like fix the ambiance. (10-8-14)

I went to the college station hastings store last Thursday looking for a certain movie, 2 employees were at the desk flirting with a young lady, asked one after I had looked, if he had this movie, his response was he would get a movie person, I asked a second time and he stated he could not give info out and went about his business, waited for 5 minutes and no one came, went home and rented from direct tv good bye hastings, your customer service sucks.

  9. Been a long time customer of Hastings - spent a lot of money there. But now, Hastings needs to straighten up or shut down! The one in Kerrville is filthy and the inventory is cheap, junk and also filthy. Can't trust what you buy - more often than not have to return. It's obvious the employees are not well managed and obviously unhappy. Customer service is non existent, with the exception of one gentleman in video by the name of Jim who goes out of his way to assist and always working; unlike others standing around talking with their friends and doing nothing - even when they see you need help. The only reason Hastings' doors are still open is because there are no other video stores in town; which, is obviously why Hastings Corp focuses on smaller markets - where they can get buy with poor store operational management, poor product quality, and poor customer service. Clean up your act Hastings. Run your store like a real business and recruit store managers who know how to manage. Thank goodness for other resources such as Red Box and Netflix.

  10. Hastings in seguin tx is a bad place they got mad and told me my baby needs to stop crying r we r out of course babies cry so she cried more and the manager called the cops n lied to them told them we were cursing in the store yet to come we got a crimanal traspass over my baby =crying ..

  11. Purchased a skateboard for my Grandson on 8-30-15 at the Mount Pleasant, TX store and he rode it for about 1 hour when he came to us and said that the board was warped. Sure nuff, warped board, trucks are not straight, ect....Took it back 9-2-15 for a refund and they told me that they could not give me a refund, but could give me a store credit. Well, I thought they should give me a refund, so I left the store with out a refund or a store credit so that I could speak to Customer Service (what a joke that was). Regards, I returned to the store on 9-13-15 and told them that I had been there before about the skateboard and that I would take them up on an exchange. No way, the store manager had decided after I left the store the first time that she would not work with me at all. Total loss of $113.00, so being the person that I can be when you take $113.00 from me I told them how I felt about them and their store. I have since been in contact with Corporate and spoke to a very nice lady named Kathy, she gave my number to the District Manager and to the very best of my knowledge he has called me one time, left a brief message without a name or a return phone # and I haven't heard from him since. Spoke again to Kathy and she assured me that he would call me back....still waiting !!! I will never shop another Hastings (and in my area that is all you except RedBox) I have taken my complaint to Social Media and hope everyone with a complaint about them will do the same. The skateboard was his birthday gift, so now he basically got nothing for his birthday and I got taken for $113.00. GameStop here I come for that PS4 he has been wanting!! And I am not Anonymous, name is Beverly Stephens

I know how you fell they ripped me and my gf off 140$ saint.joseph mo over me wanting to use a coupon on my phone the manger said I was rude about it so banned me I got 70$ credit then call back talk to head manger bj simpson thats a joke said my gf banned to and she has 70$ creadit and she was not even there she was at work making money while there stealing from costumers

Thing is costumers wake up take them to small claims court if you dont you will never win got to try small claims court with phones records you can build a good case and proof make them have to go to court I will if Dave bill ya dont do nothing for this is saint .joseph mo im going to file this is no bluff got to really do it people to get justice small claims court Monday is payday it will be my first thing I spend a dollar on this has got to stop

  14. I will not be purchasing anything from Hastings ever again. Now for my story: I purchased a very expensive ebook online. That was my first mistake. I needed this book for a paper that I needed to write. No big deal. Well, to download said ebook or any ebook on hastings website, you need a specific app. This isn't a big deal, I downloaded it and made a free account. I went back to my ebook library and I still can't open or even download the book. I emailed customer service because it was late and they're phones were closed requesting assistance since I had already gone through all the steps listed on their website. Not only did it send me those exact same steps, but they sent them three or four times. When I questioned about a refund, which they said is available if the ebook is unable to be downloaded,which is my exact problem, they said they couldn't give out refunds. So I called customer service today and they avoided giving me a refund too. I am a very poor college student. I have no time or patience or money to waste on useless ebooks. I still want my refund. I am an extremely dissatisfied customer.

  15. Hasting must be desperate keeping people's money. It is $1.99 to rent a move for one night. Whether you like it or not they charge you for a weeks rental at $4.99 and demand that you spend the remaining amount of money in their store. I told the sales person that I will never step foot in their store again and they are stealing my money. I will research the laws against this bad faith practice and make a complaint to the consumer protection agency. Hasting your store policies are pathetic and do not lend to honoring the customer. I would image many more of your stores will go out of business as well. $3.00 is nothing it is the principal of the matter

  16. I purchased an Aviator wooden music center to record vinyl and cassettes to cd's. I paid cash for it and was told I had 30 days to return it. I got one of the same model for Christmas from my grandson. I called on the day after Christmas to try to return mine (that was day 31) because of Christmas (being closed) and also, I indicated that the turntable skipped on some albums, but not on others, so I had decided to live with it. Then I got one from my grandson. Well, as you can imagine, I was told to look at the return policy on the back of the receipt (which I have). Because I had opened the item (even though I still have all of the packing), I could only exchange it for the same item within the 30 days. I was then told I could not have the district manager's number, but I could have the customer service number. Of course, the customer service number is closed today, December 26, 2015. I will never do business with Hastings again. The return policy is ridiculous, especially if you have your receipt, paid cash and it is one day past the 30 days because of Christmas.

  17. I visited the Richmond, Indiana store on 12/20/2015 and spent about $50 on Christmas gifts. Two of the items were on sale, buy one get one half off. I brought this to the attention of the teller and he said not to worry that the discount was there. I paid and took my items home with me.
    When I got home I happened to look at my receipt and the discount had not been applied. I have talked to the Store manager "Megan", and she told me that the only way they would make it right is if I come to the store. I live over an hour away from their store and it would cost me $20 in gas to get there and back to get my $9 that they over charged me. I even suggested they send me a store credit gift card for the amount and she balked at that also. I was very pleasant, never getting rude or hateful, even when "Megan" gave me a "corporate" phone number that rang through to a company called Intuit Credit processing(nothing to do with Hastings) and they said this store give their company's number out all the time, and he even had a phone number to Hastings customer service. This was another poor experience. I talked with "Amanda" who said she could not even help me because she was on a "different system". Seriously? I ended up speaking with her manager "Alexa" who also denied helping me and told me that I could only get help in store.
    I asked for a corporate number from both of these agents as well and they declined saying they weren't able to give that out.
    After a quick Google search I located the Amarillo TX Corporate # and called a very pleasant lady that I cannot remember her name who said that the store manager should have found a way to take care of this. She said she would contact the DM and have him contact me, but I have not heard anything from him yet.

    A few visits ago I rented a bluray. When I arrived home the disc didn't work in any of my players. I drove back to the store to exchange for another copy. When I returned home it did not work again. The next day I drove back (for the 3rd time). The employee checked the barcode on the disc, and the clerk had handed me back the FIRST copy I rented. I never received a new copy. No apology was given. I emailed customer service and the only response was I could return the bad copy! Really? I did that twice already!!!!! Then on this wednesday evening I was going to trade in some Starbucks gift cards for Hastings store credit. I walked in and a girl asked what she could do for me. I said "I have some giftcards I'd like to trade for store credit". She said " We aren't doing that because it is too time consuming". There is a poster on the door as you walk in as well as one right on the counter that says they do that!!!!! She never even bothered to see what kind of gift cards they were or anything. She was honestly just too lazy to perform her job. I emailed again. The response was "Maybe the system was down". Absolutely NO apology. They didn't do anything to try and keep my business. I then called the store and got some manager that sounded new. Explained my situations with this store. (W. Wellesley ave Spokane Wa.) She had no response. She was completely confused and again no apology! I then gave her my name and asked her to close my account. Which she did. She didn't even try to persuade me to stay with Hastings. I never got mad nor raised my voice as I am a customer service manager at a Major Retailer. My company would NEVER tolerate such horrible customer service nor would we let a customer go w/o trying to resolve the issue. I truly shopped at Hastings constantly. I will now stop! It is sad to see a Company with no respect for their customers.

  20. I've been a long time shopper of your New Braunfels location for many years and have done buy backs with no questions asked. However, I tried to sell some movies and games back today, just to find out you discontinued it. I don't understand why you would accept buy backs, considering used merchandise is one of your highest sellers. Please get back to me as why you would change your policy?

  21. My husband and I have spent many years and hours at the Hastings in Conroe, TX. My husband has spent so many hours there that he has helped customers many times find certain books and videos that they were looking for. For years we have taken our grandchildren there to read and drink coffee. The store has now become the worst experience of our lives. There was always a place to sit and read and just spend quiet time and enjoy a cup of coffee. The table and chairs have been removed so there is no place to sit. All of the books are in the wrong place laying down on the shelves, under the shelves and on the floor. NEW books are torn and have the look of old used books. The restroom is so dirty that I wouldn't even go in to even wash my hands. It doesn't look like the floors have been mopped in months. I don't think they even have a vacuum cleaner. It looks like the people working there are all kids that don't know what they are doing. It is under staffed at all times. The few staff members that they have don't know where anything is and they are very unfriendly. There used to be an elderly lady that worked there by the name of Ms. Ray that was the most wonderful person there. She always asked if she could help us and knew us by name. When she left it was a great loss. That has been about 2 years now. We miss her greatly. She took great pride in her store and her work and the store looked it and everyone felt it.

    I know that this may sound harsh but someone needs to say something about what evidently no one can see. We miss our Hastings. Please someone come see for yourself before you loose your whole store.

Go hastings. com is the worst seller on ebay I have as very concerned also stated that I spent many hours in these stores and tryied to buy something from them on ebay to help the hometown stores. guess that was my mistake in they don't care and wont help a person. no wondering they are going broke and having to close so many stores. don't worry about me buying anything else from you

  25. Had a horrible experience in Bullhead az and am now on hold for corporate 40 minutes and still holding. What a nightmare! I'm glad the company is going down in flames
