  1. Really bad customer service in Beavercreek, OH store. I purchased a large balloon for my daughter's birthday. I discovered in my car that the balloon had a leak, I could hear the hissing. I then returned to the store, and this is when the sales person got mean and snappy, she tried to tell me that it was my fault because I took the balloon outside. When I insisted that there was something wrong with the balloon, she copped and attitude and made me wait in front of other customers, she felt the need to call a manager. The manager then asked if he could put a piece of tape over the hole? Why would I want a defective product, this should have not been EVEN suggested!! I finally got a new balloon, but with too much trouble and a bad experience in front of other customers, I will not go back EVER!.. Your workers need to understand that the customer is important and not to treat them like a red headed step child.

  3. Grabbed balloons for my daughter's bday. On the way home one popped and once I got home they all stayed to the ground. Took them back for a replacement right before the party. Approached the balloon counter where a young lady was working. She asked could she help me and I told her I wasn't happy and explained my situation (clam tone with a smile). The employee ABBY looked at me and yelled " TAKE THEM OUT THE BAG AND MET ME SEE" I explained again and she repeated herself with the same tone. I then came from behind the counter and asked who she was taking too. She gave me a sleek, rolled her eyes and said GIRRRL. I said did you just call me a GIRL (as if were frriends). I asked for someone else to assist me an to speak to a manager. ABBY says "I am the manager" WOW really a manager who speaks to customers this way.. The manager DAN who asked why he was needed before coming was not helpful at all comes and could only say "I am sorry and I will talk to her abt this" -old halls ferry rd, st. Louis THE WORST EVER

  4. got ribbion made for my daughter baby shower ordered it on may 20th paid $4.99 for express shipping for 3-7 days didn;t get it till june 4th it is awefull it wasn;t the color we picked and it cost over $30 which is awefull as well I'm gonna call there headquarters about this I could buy nicer ribbion in the dollar store then what they gave my kid shower is this sat now what do I do thanks to PARTY CITY

  6. I wanted to express how horrible the customer service was in the Harrisburg PA location. Yesterday I was online and seen an 18 pack of rubber ducks for 9.99 thought great since I have been searching for floating ducks for a few days so I called my local store to see if they carried them in the store since the shipping was gonna take longer then I have time need for this weekend. I called a lady named Deb answered and I started to ask my question but as soon as I said online she cut me off and said NO ! but go on I was like ok so I ask and she said no the only ducks we have are at the registers and they are keychain ones I asked not even down the baby shower isles she said no and hung up... I was already not happy with the customer service with that but I needed to place my large balloon order and get a few other items so I was looking around and I came across the ducks I was looking for the night before when I called and was happy but when I got to the register the lady checking me out was the lady I spoke to on the phone and I told her I called last night and was looking for these ducks she was like well I was busy I had a line what did u want me to do, I said you could have placed me on hold or asked me to call back if you couldn't help that would have been proper customer service not just saying NO, she laughs and said something under her breath I told her there is no need for the attitude you are giving me now or yesterday and that all you needed to do is apologize she then called for help she told who ever she asked that I was yelling I was in no way yelling I was simply stating that she had be rude and very unhelpful so then when the so called manager came up she just tells the lady Deb to go in the back and starts checking me out again and said I will handle it... I asked what are you going to handle you were not there and didn't ask me what happen nor did u apologize for her behavior she refused to ring me out because I told her she was rude.... as I sat there about to spend 60 dollars on party supplies and 50 on balloons I was like no I will take my business else where!!! I believe this issue needs addressed and based off the other reviews I have read about this company customer service is not one of your strong point... very upsetting and uncalled for I am a mother of 4 and a PTA mom I spend hundreds of dollars a year in this store ...but if your customer service doesn't improve I will find some place else to shop ...

  7. I also experience horrible customer service at the party city in Exton, Pennsylvania. I purchased a halloween outfit for my daughter and when we got inside the car I actually pulled the custome out of the packaging and noticed it was too small. I returned to the store and exchanged that custome for a larger one and purchased a few extra items which at this point took my total to $68 and I had a coupon that would take $10 off if you spent $65. The manager would not let me use my coupon because she said I would have to return all my items and re-purchase them and there were no returns on halloween items (even thought it hadn't been 5 mintues between the original purchase??) When I called the store back wanting to speak with the manager again about the transaction a rude sales person named Keisha (something) answered. She would not let me speak with the manager and eventually just hung the phone up. I will never shop in this store again and after reading the other comments its clear that this chain hires rude people.

  9. We have 1 party city in the fredericksburg area and a friend and I went to look at graduation supplies and noticed the store only has 3 out of the 5 high schools represented. We asked why because my alum school was one not being represented and the man said it was a corporate decision. How unfair is it to the students who attend the other schools to not be represented like the other schools. All of these schools should be represented equally. It is NOT fair to the students and graduates. This needs to be fixed corporate, you are losing business.

  10. I work at party city and you guys need to change the computers to allow you to print a balloon order even if they didnt pay for it yet, because otherwise the order will print at the top of the next customers receipt.
    Also add 70th, 80th, and 90th items in the store. people always want it

  11. They have terrible customer service in the Concord, NC office. Assistant Manager Candice is a bitter woman with a terrible attitude. The company has been unresponsive to my concerns regarding her rude behavior. I am not happy with the corporate office.

  12. Party City has terrible customer service issues and something needs to be done about it! I went to their store in Gulfport, ms looking for some items that my daughter needed for spirit week at her school. She stood in line to try on one of the items and was told by Trevor(in a very rude tone) that it wasn't a costume and she couldn't try it on. When my daughter came to tell me what had happened, I told her that she will try it on before i buy it and Trevor proceeds to get an attitude with me and tell me she couldn't try it on. I proceeded up to the front counter and spoke with the Assistant Manager, Robert, who apologized and said that he would speak to him about it. As far as i'm concerned, I will NEVER do business with this store again!! Since it seems like this is a problem at alot of Party City stores, it's obvious that this is tolerated from your employees and I will not tolerate it!! Get your act together!!

  13. Anonymous my manager is as rude as it gets. I was only hired for seasonal. I officially hate Halloween. I was treated like crap. The main manager needs to either change his attitude or be let go. The other managers do more work then he does and are far nicer.

    2. I too worked for Party City-- I work there several years.Yes I have witnessed some GM's that get frustrated and rude, they have a lot of stress. Some are just lazy but others that are hard workers. Corporate brings a lot of the stress on to the managers and team leads. They take away man power / employees then change up plan a grams daily; then you change with every season or holiday. And put a time frame on it with not a lot of employees to do this and take care of the customers and store. So it is a dominos down to the customers. The stress and having to place new or lazy employees without work ethics up front at the register. Or, someone who gets upset because they have to run register instead of doing their job. Just saying.........

  14. I had a horrible customer service experience with Party City (Jacksonville FL. Atlantic) 334. I called to get information on balloon prices and was put on hold 3 different times. The third time I was placed on hold I was hung up on. I placed another call and was transferred to the balloon department and was asked what I needed. I explain what I needed and was placed on hold again. Someone else picked up and asked me how they could help me. I than asked for a supervisor. Mr. Noelia answered and I explained my frustration. Mr. Noelia went right into defending the reasons why I was placed on hold. This supervisor didn’t show any sympathy or empathy. When I pointed out to Mr. Noelia that he showed no sympathy or empathy, he got frustrated and said he was sorry and asked if I wanted to order the balloons are not. I’m not sure what type of customer services training Party City provides there employees are supervisor, but I would say that it needs to be revamped or this store needs to be retrained. Very unhappy customer.

  15. I am so completely dissatisfied with them right now!!! I went in with my son to buy a Halloween mask but did not buy a complete costume because we thought that he would be able to use part of an old costume from last year so at check out which was on 10/23 I asked "can this be returned" and I was told that it could be return with the receipt up to 10/31. After we got home and found out that we were in dead going to need the whole costume I put the mask in my car and took it back to the store a few days later. I waiting in the long line and was told that I had to have returned the mask by 10/23, I explained what I was told and the girl said that was there policy and did not care what else I had to say. Meanwhile the day before I made the return my wife went there and spent $49.99 on the costume. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!

But your stuff on Amazon - you will actually get it & they have a customer service department that actually works and cares about its customers. Somehow some idiot between their warehouse - UPS - and USPO changed my address.   17. we were at Party City here in Colonial Hights Va. we were waiting in line to place our costume order, the way it was set up was you picked your costume order # and waited in line and when it was you turn you told the lady which # you wanted and she would get it for you, so after waiting about an hour it was our turn so we told the young black lady who was working the 12:00 to 1:00 or maybe longer, we told her our # and she said abruptly she did not have so we gave her our second choice and she said she did not have it and then we were going to give her our third choice and she told us to go to the back of the line at that time I said no we have been waiting a long time she then snapped her figures in my face and said a few choice words and she said oh hell no at that time, I told her that that was not necessary to speak like that I just wanted some costumes, she then followed me snapping her figure and saying something about you white self that was to me I was to frustrated to pay full attention, I told her I was going to the manager and she snapped her fingers again and said she did not give a shit, go ahead she is right up there and pointed to the front , I have never been treated so..... I have no words but I assure you that I am now in the process of reporting this to our Fort Lee Commander in hopes that he will suspend all military solider from shopping at party city in Colonial Heights I strongly feel that this was a races and hostile act buy your employee. the manager ,we did speak to the manager who was a lady and clearly stated she knew the sales associate, so who was ever on duty today at 12:00, it was really ashamed because we were having a Military Halloween party and had a over flowed cart that we just walked out on your store lost a big sale

  18. Dishonest service at Brodie in Austin. Was charged on different occassions for items not purchased. Employees roll their eyes at customers and talk
    Badly about them right in front of them and other customers. Mgr "Andreo" will not honor a refund/exchange with original receipt even though the receipt clearly states they will refund/exchange. Do not shop here if you can avoid it. If you do, check your receipts for items that you did not purchase. :-(

  19. I recently went into party city in Flower Mound, Texas. WORST SERVICE EVER. I bought a milar balloon for $9.99 when I left the store it flew off the string. I went back in and politely asked if I could have another one and Emily refused to blow one up and said I could buy another one. I told her I just spent $9.99 on a balloon for my sons birthday and I was in a hurry to get to his party. She called Christina the manager up because she had "an annoying customer at the front" Christina said the best she could do was give me a 20% discount on this one but she couldn't replace the one I bought. Because it wasn't their fault for not tying the string tight enough. I recommend never going to Party City in Flower Mound because the workers are rude and the managers aren't helpful. I will no longer be going to Party City as long as Christina and Emily work there.

  20. Party in durham nc is bye far the worst. The managers are ruled . I would never shop there again as long as the managers are still there they treat there employees bad. Witness the store talking bad to and associate and it was not necessary. I ask the girl if she was okay . The employee was in tears. I can never shop there again. I pray that the young lady is okay . Maybe she will find another to where she doesn't have to be mistreated.

  23. Hi, my name is Bennie Fields and I visited this horrible store on 3/28/2015. My experience at this store was less than favorable and myself nor any of my family in Mobile will ever visit this store again. On 3/28/15 I was throwing my mom a surprise 70`s disco party and had my baby brother to go by that morning and place and pay for the order of balloons that was to be picked up at 5 pm that day. I went to party city online and got the SKU numbers for all the balloons that I needed and texted it to my little brother to show to the associate when he got there. He showed the associate the text and she picked out the balloons and he paid for them. I also had detailed instructions on how the balloons were to be bundled. The associate who rung up the order rung up everything correctly and the instructions was on the receipt as well. Needless to say when I arrived not only was my balloon order completely wrong but I was confronted with a very nasty attitude from Penny and the store manager Randy. When I requested a refund I was told that they would not give me a refund at first, that was until I became a little belligerent. Store manager Randy eventually gave me my refund but the the ticket was for $37.27 and he only gave me $25.50. After I called him on this he then, with an attitude, gave me back my correct refund. My family and myself have been doing a lot of business with party city for years and after this experience we wil resort to other means. I DO NOT SUGGEST THIS PLACE OF BUSINESS TO ANYONE. If I could give less than 0 stars I would. I`ve contacted corporate and I`m awaiting a response. This store`s location is in Mobile, AL at 300 E Azalea Rd. 36609 store #173

  25. I really don't like calling people dumb, but in this case it's appropriate. I brought 25 dollars worth of balloons to get blown up just for them to deflated two hours before my sons 2nd birthday party. I called them stating I will be returning them tomorrow,but only to get there and have a problem. I had a receipt which the manager Renee asked for it clearly reads that two payments were made . One was credit and the other for cash.. Renee pu t the entire refund o the credit card which is not mine. She tired to ring it up again and return but the card declined OK, that was a mistake but I walk out of there like the money was on the card.. so as she stated.. I went to get my funds off the card at a retailer and the card declined.. I am really tick office at the stupidity.. why ask me for a receipt when u r going to return my funds back in which suits u....we all make mistakes but I had to buy others things with my cash.. so now I am inconvience .. waiting to Monday and contacting the person who card I had for my money is down right ridiculous.   26. I own a party store and have heard the same things from the stores that are located within 50 miles of me, we try to accommodate all our customers and try to make it a pleasant experience. I have to say that 99% of people that come to party store are in a great mood and ours we want to leave and have the same mood after all is said and done. I am in a small town so customer service is a must, but it also is an expectation every customer should be entitled to. Oh I have made mistakes but I try to remedy them as best as can, sometimes customers do take advantage of small businesses but that is rarely the case. I am not sure how many Party City Stores are still franchised(some are I think), but the ones I have visited in metro areas have not impressed me. What hurts is the consumer then goes online and orders and hurts the small independent companies, we don't have the monetary resources as these large stores do, so yes sometimes we don't have all the latest and greatest, but as a consumer try to shop your local small businesses first. Compromise and keep your tax dollars at home. I had zero retail experience but after a few years(my own store) the 50% off msrp is a joke! You should see the msrp values that most of the suppliers have, buyer beware is still a key in retail. I do admit I didn't open a store to loose money but I struggle every day to keep inventory, employees, pay rent and utilities. To their credit Party City must be doing something right or they would not be now on the NYSE and still in business. Maybe management does read these messages and they make changes to their hiring and corporate philosophy. As a stock company now they have to answer to lots more individuals.

The party city of Woodbridge is by far the worst store! i went in there to buy balloons for my son and waited 30 mins to get helped there were a group of girls standing around talking about sex, drugs, and other inappropriate things while one of them were on the phone talking to someone about bringing drugs into that store and my son was there hearing all of it!! they didn't once asked me for help till i asked one of the girls there are you guys too busy that you can't help me and the girl looked at me rolled her eyes and with an attitude asked what i wanted. I saw her wearing a name tag and her name was Sandy, at that moment i didn't want her helping me so i told her that i wanted someone else to assist me and asked to speak to the manager and with an attitude she yelled I AM THE MANAGER and i looked at her and asked for someone who was higher then her and she said i don't have time for this and walked away! Her and her little group left and i was left at the counter alone! this nice young lady came up to me and asked me nicely if i needed help i told her yes and i asked her who was her manager and she said Janette and i asked her what was the rude lady and she said she was only a key holder not a manager i told the young lady i wanted to talk to Janette and she was page to the front. Her and this other young lady named Estelita came to me at first Janette and Estelita were nice but when i told them that their employee was being rude and nasty with me they got rude with me and i got frustrated and told them that i was going to tell corporate that those groups of girls were talking to a person on the phone about bringing and selling drugs in that store. The both snatched at me and called me a liar and kicked me out of the store, i honestly didn't do NOTHING or didn't EVEN get the balloons for my son!!!! i don't remember the other girls name but i know how they look like, the girl sandy was there,this big black girl, this spanish girl with glasses and short hair, another girl with glasses and curly hair. I don't know what corporate is gonna do about this but i won't EVER shop at this party city EVER again. I don't tolerate the rudeness of those young girls and the so call supervisors. AND if they are going to be talking about sex, drugs, and other nasty stuff to do it on their free time not in front of customers and kids!!!!!! Just the young spanish girl with braces was really nice to me but everybody else were really rude!!

    1. I've had the same problem at store as well that young girl sandy is a rude employee and has an attitude problem. Like if shes bi-polar or something cause she is mean and nasty with you but when another manager comes around she gets all sweet and acts like the victim but i didn't know how she treated me and i told her manager that she was acting two- face this store is so horrible.

  28. I hope corporate actually reads these comments and takes action. The Party City on S Eastern ave in Las Vegas, NV is the worst! The manager, Tim, is rude, nasty and downright mean. He has long, grey/white hair that is falling in his face, bad first impression. He is abrupt and acts like I am bothering him, wanting to purchase items from the store! I will never patronize this store again. With social media being what it is, yelp, twitter, Facebook etc, hopefully millions will read this and this man will be fired. Corporate!! are you listening??????

The manager at western hills store is rude very lazy is always late leaves early everyday and when he is there he sits in the office this is why he loading all his team leads nobody wants to be his dog and then he always says do it or I get you fried not a good way to run a store but he is one of the worse manager I ever seen hope something is done before the no worker left at this store .

I recently went to buy some party decorations for my Baby first Birthday at Corona Crossing California, I am really disappointed these people really need to work on their customer service, they don't very helpful, they don't very friendly, they were just two girls at the store, when I was ready to pay my party supplies the girl at the register asked me to pay for a cheap small yellow ball because she said my 11 months baby was playing with it, I refused to pay the ball no because I didn't have the money to pay for it, but because they were rude and they don't know anything about manners. I asked to talk to a manager and one of the girls said she was the manager and she insist to me to pay for the cheap ball I was spending lots of money alredy on my baby 's party needs she was really rude and throw the ball to a trash can because I refused to pay it!, both were really mad and I have really bad moment and shopping experience!! I'll never go back to this place again! I'll should read all the bad reviews from this place before and I'll go to a different place!!.

  31. I purchased items on June 28th for the Fourth of July at the Medallion Center location in Dallas. I was assured that if I couldn't use them that I could return them within 30 days with my reciept. However, the clerk said that since my name was in the system, that I wouln't need my reciept. I re-iterated that I may not need the items for the Fourth and the clerk said that she didn't care if I wore them and brought them back. Well, that wasn't the intent anyway. We were not able to make it to the celebration, so I tried returning the merchandise and the clerk who assured me that I could return it stood there and lied in front of other clerks. I wouldn't have purchased if there was no guarantee of return! I walked out and two days later tried calling corporate, to no avail, as they put the caller in a loop. I tried again on 7-14-15 and managed to talk to a rep., "Lauren" who has assured me that someone from store operations would email me within 24-48 hrs. I will comment again after 48hrs from 3:10 central time and add a comment accordingly. I would like to think that we who have commented negatively are very few. We'll see.

Shoped at party city in avon ma in the past there were fights people throwing things vulger laungage being used by both customers and employees aprox 2 months ago things changed they have the nicest gentleman security guard at the front door he was very social and kind to all the children they seemed to love him my daughter adored him each week we would go in he always greeted us with a smile and remenber my daughters name and made a point tell the cashiers who made her balloons that she was his little friend and to make her balloon special she lived that this week we went in only to find that he was no longer there and was informed by mire than 4 different amployees that he was.discharged and the all said it was totally unfair to him because he was rhe best guard we ever had and that it came from there loss prevention department i was so disturbed to he that and my daughter cried the whole way home shame on you in loss prevention you lost a very good man and a loyal customer the wmployees said mam you are only one of about a hundred that feel that way and we all feel the same henry was the.best.we all miss him he was not just a guard but he was a loyal caring loving gentleman we all want him back party city loses a very goof man when they discharged him i wilk never shop.there again and i will.tell everyone i know to do the sane god bless you security guard henry we all love and miss you hope to see you sime where soon god bless you and SHAME ON PARTY CITY FOR THERE UNFAIR TREATMENT OF A GREAT.GUY.

Boycott party city. shop anywhere but there when you treat what appears to be a great guy for what appears to be a no good reason according to enployees and store management then i think some should take a look at the person who handed down that order and find out why and how they can make such a terrible dicision i hope they. Lose there jobs the way this man did not even in person but by a phone call from coperate loss prevention office from someone that sit on there ass behind a desk i am an employee of that store in avon ma and i am writting this with three other employees we cant use our name ms because we woukd be fired as well.     i wanted the corporate offices to know that i had an experience that i never imagine at the party city in Miami, Florida store located at 87 Avenue SW Coral way. I've been looking for costume no. 340 for days now, and Ray a store employee that handles the boxes decided to go out of his way and help me. The costume was due to come in and he told me that when he had it at hand he would contact me. Well sure enough he did, i was not expecting it at all, normally they say that to get the phone call out of the way. But Ray or Rey I don't know how to spell his name properly, he made sure that I got the call and it makes me real happy to know that anyone would do that for me.   37. This company is by far the worst place to shop! I did a return and the money was never credit back to my account. Every time I call they advise me that it cleared on their to contact my bank. I have contacted my bank and they do not show any transaction of the money pending. This place is a rip off!!

  42. Patrick (Store Manager at your Chesterfield, MI) store was a little more than put-out when I needed to get some glow in the dark party favors. There were boxes all stacked up in front of the whole neon section making it impossible to get to what I needed. Patrick, whom was right there 5 feet away from me says to me "Can I help you with something?" I said "Yes, I need neon party favors but I can't get to them. (he could see all the boxes stacked up 5 high)" He rolls his eyes and hesitantly starts moving boxes and then says to me "Normally I wouldn't move these boxes out of the way." I said "what do you mean?...he says "we're in the middle of a complete store re-vamp." As I was stunned and didn't quite know what to say, I said "would you rather I shop somewhere else?" What kind of customer service is that?

Today i went to party city in Palmdale and there was something on a top shelf that i couldn't get to so i asked for assistance. the girl at the counter said she would call someone. nobody ever came and we had to ask someone else! i then had to use the restroom and there was gang writing all over the walls and there was no toilet paper, no seat covers, and no soap! The store was completely dead at this time.we then got everything we needed and proceeded to check out. we simply asked if there was a coupon going on this week because we were spending a lot of money. she then gave us attitude and told us no you have to be a member.then the two girls that were up front were talking about there boyfriends and inappropriate things.the girl was still checking us out and was giving us so much attitude. i then bough a bouquet of balloons and they didn't put any weights or didnt even clip them together! i then left and the balloon popped while while i was driving because the girl blew it up too much! i was very disappointed with the customer service at this store! i will never return and i hope this store goes out of business because everything about this store was horrible! they need to be trained to be more professional!

  45. We went to the party city in concord nc Alton ridge to buy things for my sons birthday. We knew what we wanted but every five seconds the manger or one of the staff members would come down the aisle we were on and watch us. They were acting like we were going to steal something or my kids. We watch our kids they just look and act like not normal kids touching things we do not steal. Then we went to the balloons the girl asked to help we were looking the manger called her over and told her to wrap this up. In other words get us out of there. We bought 35.00 worth of stuff and we were coming back Thursday to get the rest of stuff for the party because we did not have a lot of money on us at the time. They were not friendly and no thank you or come back. This was at night. The night manger needs to be fired. He was rude and made us feel like criminals. We will not back. They suck!!!!

  46. Where do I even begin with this company..
    I actually am coming from a different viewpoint than some of these people on here. I actually work there. I have worked there for almost a decade and let me be the first to say that in all these years, I have not talked with more people who absolutely hate their job and want to quit more than now. Corporate has made a new policy to where all managers have to spend 2 hours of UNINTERRUPTED time in their respective zones of the store. Each zone is broken down between 4 areas. Getting in our zones is not an option, it HAS to happen every day we work there (or at least 4 of the 5 shifts managers get every week). I cant even explain how many times managers have been interrupted during their zone time because we are extremely understaffed for what the company requires of us to do every week. Somehow between seasonal aisles (which are completely separate from our own zones), customer interruptions, revisions and projects, we are supposed to get through our whole zone in one week. One of the zone days is actually a whole half side of the aisle. How exactly does corporate expect to get this whole area downstocked, flexed, detailed and everything that is a quantity of 6 or less scanned in one day? Every single day we work there, there is only one main cashier. Every single person other than that cashier is expected to be working on projects to get done on deadlines that are just absolutely ridiculous. It's no wonder all these people are experiencing bad customer service. I remember a manager telling me one day that everyone looked like zombies. We are overworked. Nothing we ever do in these stores is ever enough. All I hear from DM's, RM's and higher are just negative things. If something doesn't get done because of distractions, we are told that it is just an excuse and that there is no reason why it shouldn't be done. I walk around that store like a chicken with my head cut off. It's fucking ridiculous to be told that I am making up excuses. Corporate has consistently changed their policies on how the store should be taken care of because everything they are trying to do is not working. You guys are dancing around the issue. It's not because I am just sitting around. It is not the managements fault. If I have one cashier on a Friday or a sunday, that is ridiculous. If I have to man a balloon counter completely by myself on a Saturday morning, that is ridiculous. There have been times where my hands were bleeding I was blowing up so many balloons by myself. It is not scheduling. Yes, maybe there should be more people scheduled on a Saturday, but then we have to take from other days where we need to be working on projects and revisions that need to be done in ridiculous amounts of time. The issue is payroll. It is hands down the worst I have ever seen. Customer service is deplorable because everyone is extremely overworked only to be told fromm their stressed out store manager that it wasn't enough. Inscribe is another one. We used to have an inscribe specialist at party city. They got rid of the position and threw it on the shoulders of a manager. Lets not even discuss the extremely poor planning of the company during that transition. I literally got 3 hours of training before it was thrown at me. One of my zone days is to take care of an almost full aisle and also inscribe! This obviously never gets done to completion every week, but its just a testament to the out of touch people in corporate. Your payroll is the problem. I have said it. Store managers have said it. District managers have said it. Stop dancing around the problem party city. I have worked for a long time here and I am really considering quitting this job.

  47. Wanted to buy a football necklace for a school football themed day. Thought about party city right off the bat. Went to the Fairfield CT branch with 15 minutes to spare, only to find out they already locked their doors EVEN THOUGH THE SIGN CLEARLY SAID OPEN TILL 9. There was another person standing outside next to me looking in pointing to his watch, but the 3 employees we saw putting things back on shelves etc, wouldn't even look at us. Not happy

    1. Cedar Park, TX is the worst!! I had to return two large purchases (made together but paid separately) today. I have the receipt and nothing had been opened at all. I saw Kristin, the MOD, and she could not have been more unpleasant and utterly horrendous. She was rude and unprofessional and accused me of not only trying to scam the store but of stealing because there was a discrepancy in how many flutes I was returning versus how many was on the receipt. I never took anything out of my car and brought EVERYTHING back, and she refused to contact the manager, Janet, that had helped check me out. Instead she became argumentative and accusatory, and upon completion of the partial return, she told to me to get out of "her" store. That is not customer service. It is appalling behavior and even worse for someone in a supervisory position. When I requested the contact information for the district manager she told me that she doesn't know his name and doubts she could find his information in the manager office. That is total bs by the way. I am so offended and angry and may file a lawsuit tomorrow for defamation of character because she accused me of attempting to "put one over on Party City". Seriously?!

    Huber heights ohio i was a very hard worker i was even your general manager for halloween city i was raped and beaten for 6 hours on november 9 th went to work after trama the following day with a swollen face stiches in between my legs and in my chest i was very dedicated to my job i even opened up my store in 2 days after being hospitalized for a month from a atv accident the day i was released from hospital in october i went straight to work i love my job at party city did exactly as asked and provided all documents that was required for my family medical act to assure while dealing with my dramatic ordeal that i have my job that i love so much secure but yolonda the h.r. officer seem to target me for unknown reasons and paper work magically disappeared i miss my job and now party city is refusing unemployment as well said i refused work no you told me i was rerminated if i did mot show up when i was still on leave. And was asked by my assistant if i was able to work through text i advised her i was not i was out of town my h.r. told me was high school to text but my assistant manager text thats how we communicated and you told her it was unprofessional she has been there before you were in diapers very kind and loving for a big corperation that thrives itself on being for families this is bu far not so

I currently work at a Party City in Louisiana while I'm waiting to start my real job and I can tell you part of the reason there are unhappy customers who call in..it is very likely that when you called, the store was very busy and the cashiers are expected to handle ringing up customers, do balloon orders, and take phone inquiries..all for $7.25 an hour..Party City is an evil corporation that only cares about their bottom line..the management is subpar at best..I was hired as a part time stocker but was also thrown behind the register with no training..It was horribly embarrassing for me to have to hold up customers because I don't know what I'm doing..management figures as long as there are bodies behind the counter all is well..if I was in the customers position is be displeased too!..I cannot wait to tell them I quit!!!!

  51. Where to even begin...I was throwing a surprise 40th birthday party. I went into the store to purchase all of the decorations and balloons. I spoke with a lady at the counter and she was very helpful. I explained that I would be taking the person the surprise is for to the party so I needed a friend to pick up the balloons and decorations. She assured me that all would be fine. She wrote a note on the printed till receipt and on the handwritten receipt to make sure the bag of party supplies goes with the balloons. I spent over $100. We arrived at the party for the big surprise and the big surprise was on my. The only thing they gave to my friend were the balloons. They assured her everything was there. I need to mention this. The store closed at 6pm. I made it clear that my friend would be picking up very close to their closing time. The reason is because the space that was rented was not available to decorate until 7:30. She had to kill an hour and a half before she could even decorate. Not the stores issue at all. Just needed to mention. Basically the surprise party had balloons. Nothing else. What a huge disappointment! I had a really nice sign for people to write a happy birthday note and show they were there , banner, table topper set and some 40 gag gifts. None of it was there. I had to just let it go. The next day the store called me. I had to call them back because I missed the call. Basically, they told me that we forgot to grab the bag of decorations. We were blamed for their mistake. I asked if anyone bothered to walk out the door and give it to the person that picked it up and they didn't have an answer. I asked to speak with the store manager. I was told she will call on Monday. I said that would be fine. That was after the fact I was told I needed to come and get my bag of decorations. I asked for a credit and she said I could get one if I drove back to the store. They store is not close to me. I went to that store because it was closer for my friend. Anyways, I finally spoke with the manager today. She told me that the bag was with the balloons. That is all she would say. She didn't apologize. She didn't take any ownership with the issue. I asked her how she would feel if the same happened to her. She said and I quote, "I would have made sure I had everything when I left the store." Are you kidding me. I was able to get the refund for my party supplies. No apology nor an offer to add a little extra to my credit. I spent $101 in there store that day. I will NEVER spend a penny more in it again. The store manager's name is Paige. Paige needs to go to a management training class to learn how to deal with her customers. I was not an unruly customer. I was not yelling. I was calm. She was RUDE!

  52. I was in the Party City in Watertown, NY and was treated very rudely by a manager there. I went to buy a hat and it rang up a different price than what was marked. The girl behind the counter was very polite and radioed to find the price. Over the radio someone said the price and they were mis marked and I said okay I doubt need them that badly. The price was offered to be changed but I didn't really need them so said no thanks. Well as I was paying for my order the manager, Bryan, canned up and hold up 2 hats in my face and snappingly said this one is that price. See the difference between the 2? Then he wouldn't stop after we said I didn't want the hats. Very rude! I didn't even want the hat badly!!

  53. Untrained staff! They overcharge and underchange be careful. Spent a lot of time trying to tell the cashier but had to go back to see the manager as they messed it all up. Wonder why simple calculations are hard for them to understand. Waste of time!
    I got two bouquets and they fell flat to the ground in less than 24 hrs and the lady told me that there warranty is good for only 24 hrs. Had balloons many times before but never do they fall to the ground in a day. Infact,one of the bouquet is looking great the other one is flat to the ground... Same balloons same day and time delivery. She was talking about instructions that were never delivered to me at the time of delivery like, the balloons should not be in the bag for more than an hour. I hope i have some other place that can cater to the party balloons and I don't have to go there ever again. If there is an alternate choice please take that but don't waste money on this money grabber place. My little guy is sad and i am very disappointed.

  55. very bad customer service at Oswego, Illinois I went to the store to buy a party package set the lady suggested online have a more selection and if I order it from there location its free shipping. I told them that there is the one I wanted to buy but I have concerned about how the balloons getting filled they told me its free I just need to bring the receipt from online and they will fill it for free so I went ahead and order it. during the day of the party I have my friend drop the balloons with my receipt because I'm to busy running errands when he got to the store they told him they will not fill it unless he pay 1.00 extra for each balloons he doesn't know what to do, he said the lady is now being nasty with him, so he end up paying. I wont mind paying extra if they let us know early, they don't have to be nasty with anyone. I wont go back on this store again I paid 99.00 plus tax for a party package that doesn't come with anything and got a very bad service.
