    3. Refs with bad call's on the ranger games last night 3 /18 need to be looked into get off that chair and review the tapes this is now a first place team that call's impact the outcome of these games.Starting to look like the NFL.

    4. This is a complaint against the Tampa Bay Lightening management. They are denying to sell Stanley Cup Final tickets to customers that live outside of Florida. They also are moving Chicago Blackhawk fans that wear Blackhawk attire out of the Club seats and into lower priced seats!! This is against the Constitution and it`s descriminatory. The NHL Board needs to stop this practice of keeping fans of oppposing teams from attending away games.

  2. the hit on the Senators player by the goon in last nights game should not be playing in the NHL, he should be a hit man for the mob (mafia) he has a history of hits above and beyond what is reasonable. He is a goon, bad guy not hockey player. However because he plays on the same team as you know who, let it go. To top it all the ref tells this goon to get off the ice before the game is ended, so now officials are protecting the goon. I wish the NHL would come back to Canada where it belongs

    1. Let me see where does the most money come from? my guess its not Canada!! I beg to differ on the official I Just witnessed the worst game ever officiated tonight with CBJ versus Vancouver, Our goalie on CBJ took a stick to the face by the Captain of Vancouver and no call!!!! and OMG a sudden stop by Mayson on a shoot out and goal allowed The war room in toronto sucks they need to actually review the goals without showing biased!!!!

    2. Wrong the money comes from Canada in fact most of the teams like yours get money from the rich teams like the maple leafs, Canadians, Bruins ect. It's how the nhl subsidizes poor small market teams. Look it up. And tv revenues in Canada far exceed the u.s.

    1. The officiating this year is awful!!!! I just got done watching the Flyers and Jets and the refs didn't call penalties and then called bullsh^t. The refs are a f'n joke!!!! I am sick and tired of this crap!!!! We as fans need to get together and bombard the NHL corporate office with emails, letters and phone calls about this problem.

    2. Totally agree. Its the 21st century and the league's use of technology is pathetic; the people in Toronto are all drunk and aren't watching games, or just ignoring stupid calls.
The game is too fast for just people on the ice. Use technology, or be considered a joke to pro sports and an embarrassment to your home country.
Maybe you should use only American refs, because Canucks don't know what they're doing.
Seriously tho, are NHL games rigged like WWF wrestling? Because it sure looks like it more times than not.

  4. After watching the Predators-Canadiens game on Saturday, October 19, I am left to wonder if NHL referees are held to any standard competence level? Who is in charge of these guys? Does anybody review games with these guys, and is anybody held accountable for incompetence?

  5. out of curiosity - I understand how Seabrook got a three game suspension. How does St. Louis Blues Ott get the same type of hit on Duncan Keith and nothing is called or done. I am a die hard hockey fan but the inconsistency that is shown and the officials inability to see something like that and the league not stepping up and correct it makes me understand why people are moving away from watching such a great sport. The commish for hockey should step up if hockey has any change to go to the next level. If not it will continue to stay a mediocre sport and go nowhere. Just saying.

    1. All I have to say is any hit to Keith is deserved. He is a serious predator so if the refs let it go, then they know this too.

  6. A long time ago Mario called the NHL a garage league because of the officiating. He was right then. He is even more right now. Witness the Colorado Minnesota game last night. The time with the goaltender pulled. How many penalties did Colorado commit? Nothing called. Then Colorado wins the game in OT?? Mario was right then, even more so now.

  7. The goons masquarding as nhl officials in this league is ridiculous .When an official is off by 25 feet on an icing call the open net non call was the worst. Or at least i thought then game seven minnesota colorado the avs player bum rushes the goalie goes in untouched bowls over the goalie gets rewarded with a goal. Sad day for the fans of this sport. You need to hire matt cooke as a ref so you have at least one guy with a little integrity . I just watched my last game thanks

  9. Please stop the fans in the front row from pounding on the rink glass. When I watch any NHL game, all I keep hearing is the idiot pounding on the glass right where the TV microphone happens to be stationed. At the very least, please have the arena ushers learn the location of the mics and advise those fans nearby that pounding on the glass interferes with the broadcast as well as isn't safe. Please

  10. What can be done about the continued BAD refereeing in games. Example: Wild vs NYI at about the 10:00 min mark of the 2nd period on 12/9/14. Parise is in front of the net an Islander starts to roughing with him and then another Islander comes in and wraps arm around Parise head and pulls and Vanek pulls that guy the exact same way and the ONLY penalty is issued to the 4th guy in. Refs are not doing the job!!!! Happens way to often. The refs need to be more accountable and reprimanded for their poor performances, they are getting paid a LOT of money. Commissioner step up and do your job!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I would like to let Commissioner Gary Bettman and the other people the NHL office know just how stupid you were by allowing the players selected to the All Star game to be picked by team captains for each side rather than having the East play the West. I have been a hockey fan almost 40 years and I will not watch the All Star game the season as my favorite team had 3 players selected and two of the them are on one team while the other is the opposite side.
If they had allowed the East to play the West all three of the players from my home team would have been on the same side. I hope that Mr. Bettman and the others review and change this policy before next season's All Star game otherwise it is not worth having. The NHL has always been far classier than the other major sports leagues but really blew it this season.

  12. Where does the league get some of these refs? You play hard, but I see Detroit and Chicago get away with more stick infractions and holding then any teams. Bettman reminds me of Goodell. Just bring in the money, baby!

  15. Buffalo, 2 yrs. in a row, finish last and do not receive the #1 pick. Unbelievable!! The players do not "tank". Management uses the trade deadline to unload players of value/contract issues to get something in return from clubs making a playoff run. If the lottery is a result of someone thinking teams "tank" to secure a better lottery place, then change the trade deadline so teams are not encouraged to unload players during the year. Thus, we can get back to the last place team picking first. Being a Buffalo sports fan, something will be done about this as soon as we are in a position to not need/can't get the top draft choice. Of course, we lost a 7 percentage point chance from last year to this year - 27% to 20% to gain the top spot. Thanks NHL!! Look at the tv ratings for the smallish market that is Buffalo. Maybe it would be wise for your sake to throw them some bones. HarborCenter, need I say more.....

  16. Why was Zach Parise credited with an assist on the 4th goal scored thursday night by Jason Pominville? The blues player passes it by mistake and Parise never touches it. Does the league not review goals? Fans bet on these results and they need to be accurate. Please review the goal and rectify this error! This is the difference of several thousand dollars for me.

    Thanks

  17. The officiating is pathetic. The post-season swallowing of whistles is a joke! The league has completely eliminated the speed and skill components that make the game fun to watch. The grabbing, hooking, slashing, mauling, and outright butchering that is now allowed has ruined the game...it's shameful! This is one FORMER fan who is done with it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Does the NHL plan on doing anything to stop their teams from discriminating against the opposing teams fans, such as what is being done by the Predators and the Lightning? I can understand to some degree limiting ticket sales so that your teams fans get first priority, but to prohibit opposing teams fans from wearing their own teams merchandise?? When did we lose our right to freedom of expression? The success of the NHL is based on fan support. Please do something to stop these type of activities as it is not only discriminatory, but very bad for the growth of the game

  19. Here is how the NHL could eliminate shootouts:
If the game is tied after regulation then one team plays with the 5-on-3 advantage until someone scores, and then the other team plays 5-on-3…whichever team scores the quickest would be the winner. And if the shorthanded team scored first then the other team would have to score shorthanded quicker in order to win.
How much more exciting would that be since the teams couldn't sit back and wait for the shootout?

  20. Can anyone at the NHL explain to me why, in Canton, Ohio, 2 hours outside of Pittsburgh and 2 hours from Columbus, but only 45minutes from the Columbus affiliate in Cleveland, we are considered by the NHL to be in the PITTSBURGH market? This results in blackout of Penguins games on cable and DirecTV.

    1. Games broadcast on local and national television in your area are subject to blackouts in NHL GameCenter LIVE. Generally, if a game is available for you to view on television in your local viewing area, then it will not be available to watch live in NHL GameCenter LIVE. Regardless, after 48 hours the full length game replays will be available in the game archive.

For guidance regarding local blackouts in your area please enter your zip/postal code on the page below.
      http://www.nhl.com/ice/ziplookup.htm

Please note that this lookup is only offered as guidance and your location is determined by the IP address you are accessing the service from. Blackouts are enforced based on the location of your viewing and not your purchase, so if you are traveling blackouts will be enforced accordingly.

Nationally televised games on NBC, NBC Sports Network, and NHL Network-US in the US; and TSN, TSN2, CBC, and NHL Network-CA in Canada are also subject to blackouts in NHL GameCenter LIVE as well.

  23. I get confused with the decisions made by upper mgmt. and by the Commish himself. I think that everyone believes that the league is heading in a better direction. More skating and skill, less "Slapshot" nonsense. As a D1 hockey guy, I'm amazed at your decision to not give Renaldo a suspension. You gave Torres 41 games and he really did nothing any different. I say all this and I'm a BRUINS fan that grew up in Arlinton. But, your inability to get things right and keep consistency the game is probably one of the reasons that women's basketball out ranks the NHL in the ratings game!! I'm a business guy who has made a sh*tload of money. So, as a businessman, where are the business brains in the management of the league. Gary Bettman?? Is he the guy calling the shots? He's disliked by all fans, players, coaches and let's face it .. the guy is a little weasel. A freakin team in South Florida?? Seriously? But, I guess if you feel that he should be "the face" for the league then shame on you! I notice that you really don't have big commitments with large advertisers? Is this because there is no creative thinking in your marketing Dept, or that guys like Renaldo are cut a break to come back and do the same "goon" sh*t another day? For a hockey guy like me who played, coaches .. it's a shame to know that the NHL will never be more than a secondary sport. Could it be? Of course. But, you idiots don't have the smarts to get it done.

  24. How many more games is the league going to allow to be ruined by the officiating? And of all the teams the LA Kings seem to be the recipients of a substantial amount of questionable rulings. A phantom puck leaving the arena yet scoring a goal in Detroit, flagrant goalie interference throughout the San Jose playoffs, disallowed goals that review clearly confirms should have been overturned and last night's ridiculous game-changing calls by officials awarding the tying and winning goals on penalties that were questionable at best and clearly should have resulted in an embellishment penalty for Burns instead!!! I spent a lot of money to see that game with my family. IT WAS RUINED BY ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE officiating. Francis Charron should be demoted to the AHL IMMEDIATELY. What a joke of a game he called. That's YOUR fault and as such I want my money refunded $280. If I bought a car and one of your idiot employees put a dent in it - you'd be paying me money. Well you can't fix this "dent" so I want my money back. ALL OF IT. Why doesn't the league worry more about spending money on more important things than luxury box seating and owners making millions and spend more money on getting better concussion protection and more competent officials.

  25. Gary Bettman
First outstanding job on the All Star Weekend in Nashville! While I could only watch it on TV, it appeared to be a great celebration of the league and hockey.

That said, I am extremely disappointed that the NHL would once again select Los Angeles and the Staples Center over Anaheim and the Honda Center to host the 2017 All Star game. Yes I understand that 2017 represents 50 years of the Kings franchise, of course it represents that for several other teams although one is no longer a franchise (California Golden Seals) and another moved from Minnesota to Dallas. The Kings have already hosted two prior All Star Games in 1981 at the Forum and in 2002 at Staples Center. In addition the Kings hosted the 2010 NHL Draft. I find it unfortunate
that the league would go back a third time to Los Angeles while it has never gone to Anaheim. The Ducks have been in the league since 1993 and have never been selected to host a league event where by my count 10 franchises that have come into the league at or after the Ducks have held the All Star Game. As a fan, I am extremely disappointed in this continued slight on Anaheim. Now with the All Star game coming back to Southern California, I'm sure it will be a number of years before it comes back here again hence it would not appear that the Ducks will host a game anytime soon. Shame on you Gary Bettman and Board of Governors for your continued disrespect of one of the best franchises in the NHL and all of pro sports.

  26. NHL, I applaud your efforts to revamp your site. However, frankly speaking, it is far from being user friendly. The constant task of opening and closing windows to get game information is cumbersome, slow and frustratingly annoying. Fans want to rapidly get scores, scorers and news without having to do the equivalent moves of a decathlete. I use your site quite often but increasingly I am moving to other more efficient options. Please do something to make your site a pleasure to use once again. Thank you.

  27. I watched the flyers rangers game and watched macdonough two hand cross check wayne simmons in the head. The refs missed the call bad enough but to throw wayne simmons out was way wrong! Mcdonough should have been thrown out with intent to injure. You have replay before you throw someone out , look at it and make sure you get the right guy. If it was you getting cross checked in the head you would wanna knock him out to. The wrong team was punished and philly got screwed and fell a point more behind playing shorthanded. The Rangers shoulda played short handed. You have the technology ! USE IT! All I have to say is MC DONOUGH Should be suspended a few games for that. Wideman should never play again also, you never hit a ref , no excuses , its a privelidge to play not a rite! You wanna clean up hockey , that was your chance and you blew it! He shoulda been charged with assault! Wake the fuck up and put on your big boy pants , have some balls and get it fixed! Thats Bullshit! Sincerely,Mr JG. a concerned Fan

  28. Hey unkown. The NHL is a joke and always will be. Bettman is clueless. As a Devil fan I hate the Rangers and Flyers. Simmons got away with murder as Flyers usually do. He throws his stick as a Ref but again the NHL doesnt ever punish the Flyers for their dirty play. With that said throw McDonough out too who cares. But the NHL is the 5th (not 4th any longer as golf surpased them) sport for a reason. You're Flyer fan that is obvious and you think its okay he suckered punched a person and threw his stick at a Ref? Of that's right you guys beat a NJ police offcer practically into a coma at Geno's for kicks. Just do what I do, stop going, stop buying their products and only watch occassionally. Eventually they will learn but not under Bettman, His arrogance is 2nd only toe David Stern who was his mentor.

  31. As a fan of hockey it is getting rediculous that the officiating of these games continues to get worse. These guys make good money to call a good game, but they are so incompetent. Every game the officials should be reviewed and when the nhl sees infractions, send these officials to the minors for a week with a pay reduction. Maybe they would become a better official or go find a real job and quit screwing the nhl up.

  32. In as much as I myself am a hockey fan and specifically the Chicago Blackhawks....The actions of Duncan Keith against the Minnesota Wild player cannot.... Go unpunished.. To use a stick as a weapon cannot be tolerated.
As proud as most fans of some years when those years were not so good... We cannot let are younger hockey players think in any way this is condoned.
The Blackhawks from their owner through their staff to players are a class organization and unfortunately even the greatest of players make mistakes sometimes. He does not have a history of this type of play, so one can forgive a missstep... But the consequences of that act could have injured a player permently.
    Therefore it cannot go unpunished..

  35. Seems to us that the current playoff structure guarantees that at least one of the top three teams in each division will be eliminated. Wouldn't it be better if, within each coherence, the number one team (most points) plays the wild card team with the least points; team with second most points, regardless of division, plays the wild card team with more points; third most points plays third place division team with the least points; leaving the two teams in the middle to round out the bracket.
Western conference this year would be Stars(109)-Wild(2nd WC-87); Blues(107)-Preds(1st WC-96); B'hawks(103)-Sharks(98); Ducks(103)-Kings(102). Second round would rebracket with highest point team vs. lowest point team and remaining two teams facing each other. We have no dog in this hunt because we are Stars fans so wouldn't effect us in the first round.

  36. Though I'm someone who wishes people would refrain from using bad language in public, I never the less think it is way over the top to suspend a player (Andrew Shaw) for using an inappropriate word during the heat of the moment in a playoff game. Considering all the insults that go on during a game that the league doesn't bat an eye at, suspending a player for this seems more like falling prey to political correctness than anything else. An apology should have been sufficient.

  37. NHL officiating has reached an all time low. I am sure that whomever reads these comments deletes them before finishing. In Tuesday night's playoff game between the Rangers and Penguins, Kris Letang took a two handed chop with his stick across Victor Stalberg's face causing him to lose 3 teeth. It was not called on the ice. That was disgraceful but more appalling was the fact that the league reviewed it and deemed it was ok, no suspension. This was a vicious attack that would send someone to jail if this were done in the non NHL world. The worst part is when one of the Rangers goes after him as they should, he will get penalized. The ref's really are pathetic and it makes me question the NHL and it's integrity.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Consistency is the key, apparently people i.e. officials or referees see things differently. But when the league has multiple views, maybe that problem should not be so relevant. When humans are involved games are going to be called different; that in it's self presents a real issue.
