  2. From the moment I arrived, the woman at the front desk, LORETTA, could NOT HAVE HAD A NASTIER ATITTUDE. I could overlook that, though. I arrive to my room and prepare to shower, only to find that there were not only NO COMPLIMENTARY SOAP OR SHAMPOO but was also an old, used, razorhead left in the shower. So the women that brings the soap and removes the razorhead, informs us that she DID NOT EVEN WORK THERE. Being so late, I decide to even overlook this. Now, as Im eating my dinner, I sip my soda only to see a COCKRIACH STARING ME DEAD IN THE EYES.....No one can spray until morning, I am being refused a refund, and it just kept getting worse. Early morning, we were awoken by the bug-man and asked that he come back in five as we werent up and dressed yet. We arrived at breakfast right at 9, ending time, and the woman had the nerve to TAKE IT OUT OF OUR HAND AND SAY IT WAS OVER! The spray man has gone for the day, so no one ever sprayed, and some CRACKHEAD WALKED INTO THE ROOM WITH A LIT CIGARETTE, AND PERSISTED TO ARGUE with us about the roaches as if we were lying and was so disrespectful, any person with common sense would have knocked him silly. Customer service means nothing these days, absolutely nothing. And it is sad to see a company that once thrived, so ran down. I am outraged and will never stay in such filth again, not even for free! Also, the owner above the whole franchise was the one who did not even care enough about his customers to try and fix the situation.

    1. I'm not sure what hotel you stayed at but that really doesn't surprise me. I'm an employee at a Super 8. I've been here some years and never had a complaint, have brought this hotel from 1 star to 4 stars- and have never had a raise. Soo obviously its not only the bad choice of employees, they also have no incentive for employees to behave and treat customers they way they should be treated

    2. This sounds much like the problem I had in Texarkana at the Super 8 there!!!!!! Bugs Bugs Bugs!

    3. I also was an employee at the super 8 in Bridgeport W.V. We had the same problems. They never ever have the thing's needed for breakfast. And what they do have they limit now that they have a new manager. Whom I must say there have been nothing but complaints about. Christina Zinn. We have had bud bug's and if we try to tell her she just thinks it is funny. We have alot of workers there whom have complained that they are not treated right. But the worst thing is we are made to lie in order for them to pass inspections. Like the fact they haven't had the jacuzzi rooms for a year yet the can still be booked online. So when a customer comes in with that reservation we at the front desk look so incompetent. But they don't care. There are so many complaints that nobody cares about. Another thing if you are a worker don't stay they raise the rates when they know there's going to be alot of workers. We had lost alot of regular stay overs because of the new management being so rude and changing rates everyday. Goingto work we would not know what rate to give u till the manager called to let you know for that day. So basically she just makes up a price to charge for a room. That clearly are not worth the money! And one more thing do not make a reservation if you are a non smoker all rooms stink like smoke. They use the fact that there are smoking rooms around nonsmoking rooms. That is not an excuse. Do not advertise nonsmoking rooms then. We try to refund if it is to bad. If management does not throw to big of fit!

    4. Wow...I'm also a employee of super 8 but never these kinds of issues, however, I have been having problems with the head housekeeper, now keep in mind I work the desk. Long story short I was told to help in hours keeping when she quit, so I did but when she found this out, she suddenly had to come back to her job. But because I out did her and everything was running smooth, she now is trying to get me out of there. I have told my concerns to my gm for 5 months now, I even have been in tears with her and nothing has been done about this issue, my gm tells me she don't want me to quit and just ignore her but how??? I work first shift and have to deal with this woman. I'm sooooo at the end not my rope and want to leave but I've been there a while now and I like the owners and gm. They really are good people to work for. Our hotel is really nice and I'm proud to say I'm an employee but I don't know where to turn or who to turn to about this, can I file a harassment case with corporate? I really need help.

    6. Please, please inspect Super 8 at 4502 SE US Hwy 169 in St. Joseph, MO. It is nasty with roaches. Found some in the bathroom and then on a bed sheet. Imagined all night that they were crawling on us. Now I'm dealing with trying not to bring any into my house that might have crawled into my luggage. What a mess. My husband and I have traveled coast to coast, north and south and have never had a problem with roaches. Manager was no help. Implied that I brought the roaches in with me!!! Never again will I stay in a Super 8 Motel.

  5. Stayed at the Super 8 in Irving Texas on 1/20/13. I realized I left my coat on bed 45 minutes out of Dallas. I immediately contacted hotel but was told that they did not have keys to lost and found but would ask housecleaning. I called back next day but was told again that no keys that I would have to call back 1/22/13 at 10am and speak to manager VJ. I called right at 10am and he was not in but that they would relay message and he would call back. No phone call by 12p so I called them and they said no coat was found. I am 100% sure I left it on bed. So now I am out of a coat and oh well according to them. Dumb me for assuming they would turn it in.

  6. in REference to... Super 8 Alexandria, 700 Mac Arthur Drive, Mac Arthur Dr and I49, Alexandria, LA 71301 US.
my wife and i stayed here in Mid January 2013. the experience was unbelievable. we checked into the first room and found 2 TV on the floor and the AC unit out of the wall. yes we were assigned a second room and when we were nearly unpacked as we palnnned to stey 3-4 days... they came and told us it's the wrong room so we again moved to room 108. we are road weary so again unpack, as took in the last of ourluggage i slipped of my socks & shoes and moved about unpacking hanging up our clothes etc, and prepare for a shower. when i step on the mat, it turns black from the bottom of my feet as i have walked on filthy carpets. WOW.
then when i lay on the bed to read, the cobwebs on the ceiling are in abundance and moving with hte AC flow... like full motion ceiling. the light switch by the bed has not been wiped clean for years... the lamps on the wall have layered dust on them as they have not been dusted for a long time either... the whole room was about the worst possible.
I think if i was in upper management in Super 8 i would do a surprise insecption on this place and have cleaned and brought up to standard before it is condemened ..

  7. Super 8 Imlay city Michiagan. We own a construction company and from day one was treated like we were nothing! Over 8 weeks we spent over 70,000.00 with them. the ladies at the front desk were be beyond rude to all my men (42 total) they accused us of smoking when we were not even in the building! Then when one of our men defened his self telling the mangager that he was not even the Building, she told him the be quite and not to interupt her!!!! Our things were gone through and the head house keeper admitted to me in front of her Manager that she went through my employees dresser drawers! We checked out and took out money else where! We were do to be at the job site for another 2 months so we could have stayed with them until the job was done, But my men were being treated so rudly that i moved them to another hotel so we could finish out our job in piece. I will never stay at another Super 8 AGAIN!!!!!! we gave them every chance in the world, but when you in are customer service you do not down talk a customer in front of other customers that are checking in! I went up to stay with my husband and was called at 3 times and was asked to come to the front desk, so they could tell me how bad my men were! I was a paying customer that was there to relax and it was the worst 2 days i have ever spent any where! I went back up with my husband but elected to stay some where else so that i could get some rest!

    1. Are you sure you weren't in Wausau Wisconsin? I can't say that the entire staff was rude. They were rather pleasant Except for the ones that falsely accused us of smoking in our Room... when, like you, we were not even THERE. Then when the charge was disputed, i was called from the front desk and THREATENED that they would call the cops the next time I got caught. I was supposed to stay longer, but heck.. accuse me once..then threaten me.. yeah... like I feel safe!
I feel bad for the lady who processed the checkout that night.. because she walked through my room with me and another witness and said the room smelled like a freshly cleaned room... but when I called the Manager, he tried telling me the next people to rent that room complained of it smelling like smoke.. Really??? how could that be? this must be super 8's new motto... lets charge people for things they didn't do!

    To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to express the poor conditions at the Super 8 in Osceola, Iowa. I had booked my reservation on line. My family and I was going to stay March 15th and 16th. When I pulled up with my family at the hotel there was no cars in the parking lot and it looked like it was not even open for business. I did not feel this facility was worth the money that I was about to spend. I did not feel this was a safe place for my family. I then got on my cell phone and looked on the website for the address to see if possibly the address had changed. I then called the hotel and voiced my concerns. The receptionist explained to me that I would not be getting a refund. I asked if I could just cancel my reservations and she said no. I kept trying to explain to her that I was not comfortable and did not think that the facility was clean and safe enough for my family. All the lady did was say too bad. I did get upset and yelled and stated that I was not going to pay for the stay. The receptionist hung up on me twice while trying to explain to her the situation. She did not even care that I had these concerns about the facility. I then called corporate and Paula at customer service opened up a ticket and did tell me to call back to the hotel and get a confirmation number for my cancellation for the second night. When I did call back the supervisor hung up the phone and all I wanted to do was get the confirmation number. I have never been so upset over something as I was this situation.
If you truly value your customers, I highly suggest you teach your receptionists how to deal with people and give them what they are asking for. I did not want to stay at that hotel and I would of been just as happy with them offering me a stay at another location.
I also don't understand why corporate customer service does not have that ability to cancel a reservation given these circumstances or give a person another option to stay at another hotel that is close to that city. I was to hear back from your corporate customer service representative and yet I am still waiting. This is not the response I was expecting at all. I believed Paula on the phone when she said it would be looked into. I would like to have a refund of the amount of the night stay or a free night at another Super 8. I had to pay for my family to stay at another hotel and ruined part of our weekend that was to be relaxing. I would appreciate if this matter could be taken care of real soon.
Please have someone call me or send me a letter with a refund of my stay or a voucher to stay at another location.
    I am sure I won't get a response.

    1. I too am staying at the same Super 8 in Osceola, Iowa this week for work and never in my life have I experienced such disrespectful customer service! I stay in Super 8's all the time for my job and this one is by far the worst! There's no sign on the front of the building except for the Super 8 sign up the road at the corner, so I mistaked it for the Day's Inn next door for starters, which was a disapointment. Because I wish it would have been the Day's Inn. So I went to check in and I specifically explained that I will be staying for three night's with a co-worker and that we will be splitting the bill. Low and behold they end up charging my debit card for all three night's after I had specifically told them not to. So we go to the front desk to resolve the problem the next night and experience some of the worst attitude I've ever had from a lady at a front desk of a motel. Then later that night I call down to the front desk to ask for a few extra pillows and they tried telling me that they dont carry any extra pillows. (What kind of motel doesn't carry extra pillow's!?)
NEVER AGAIN AM I STAYING AT THIS PLACE!

  11. Super 8, colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA.
checked in last night to stay near work instead of fighting the commute. Clerk was very nice, but my co-workers and the people at the restaurant where I had dinner next door said they over charged me. It's usually about fifteen bucks cheaper than that. Oh well. Clerk didnt ask me if I had Auto Club membership so I forgot as well. When I asked in the morning if my membership discount could be applied to my charges (upon checkout) the clerk, Michael Bachelor, said no. I asked for the manager and he said he wasnt there. I asked when he would be there and he said he didnt know the managers schedule. Needless to say, refused to finalize my charge to my card with the discount applied and refused to get the manager for me. I called Super 8 Corporate headquarters and they filed a complaint for me and told me that I should have been able to get my discount. I called the motel back from my office and shared that info. with "Michael" and he said, "well, I will call my manager and ask him and call you back". Oh! now he can contact the manager! He called me back and said if I come back to the front desk by 11am to finalize the transaction I can get my AA discount. Hmm. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can people run a business with employees who act this way?!!!!!! I am BLOWN AWAY! Michael Bachelor, if you ever get to read this, you better grow up alot before entering the real world of professionalism. Did you have a lousy breakfast or what? My son is in college and works as well and he would NEVER talk to someone that way. Good riddens.

  14. Wow!!! What an experience!!! My Mother & I went to this MOTEL in March. We are from Dallas and I call the day before to ask for an early check in. Which I was told that it was ok and they had plenty of rooms available. Well, we got there by noon. I walk in and the mean Manager from HELL Rick Roma stated that they didn’t have any room available. I look in the parking lot and there were no cars, but I remember from the last experience at this Super 8 he was mean and the hot water was not working because of a pipe busted. I ask one question, when will the hot water be working again and he had an attitude and told us to go somewhere else. I told him and I assume she was his wife that my Aunt passed and I was here from Dallas for the Funeral and I had to get dress in 30 minutes to meet my family. That was nothing to him, but we stayed so we would not be late and it’s just for one night. Now, we decided to visit again and maybe it will be a better experience. Oh well, it was NOT!!! But it work out… Let me tell you my story. Ok, I got there in March for the early check in. I walked in and Rick Roma looks at me and said that he didn’t have any rooms available. I asked; when will you have a room available? He stated 3:00 pm is check in time. I let him know that I spoke with the receptionist the day before and they told me that there will be a room available. He stated that he was the Manager and he doesn’t like my attitude. I laugh and told him that I don’t have to take this and he told me that he did not want me staying there and on and on, like I was his child. I told him to cancel my reservation and I wanted a paper showing that I would not be change. He went to print the paper and still was talking crazy and telling me I had an attitude. Now, I’m a grown woman and I don’t have to take this abuse. He told me that he was going to call the police. I said fine because I have not done anything. He told the Police Dispatcher that I was raising his blood pressure and he wanted the Police to come now. He told me he was going to press changes on me. I went outside and waited calmly. I was so dam sleepy from driving from Dallas. I had no energy for a fool! The Police came and the Officer was so kind and he asks me what happen and I told him. While I’m talking to the Office, Rick Roma comes out talking over me and the Police had to tell him to go in. All I wanted was for Rick Roma to give me my paper that he will not change me and I can go ON!!! The officer stated that he would be glad to help up fine a Hotel. I told him while I was waiting on him to come I had already call Holiday Inn. The experience at the Holiday Inn in Jasper Texas was so NICE… The staff and the hotel were nice, clean and the breakfast was GOOD!!! The BEDS are so comfortable and not like that OLD mess at Super 8! Now, while the police was there another couple had a bad experience, so the Officer kill (2) birds in one setting. Now, who is crazy? Rick Roma!!!! For a few dollars more go and run to the Holiday Inn Jasper Texas!!!! Thanks Rick Roma for making my experience wonderful and a dam good time… Hope you get your Blood Pressure down…

I had the worst experience I could have at the Super 8 Urbana. First they tried to turn me away they had no room for me. Apparently the the filthy clerk in a dirty t-shirt did not like to look in the computer so. I don't have her name she wore no name tag would not tell me her name. Since I was not on the printed report from 2 days ago she had no room. I showed her my emailed comfirmation. She said I was at the wrong Supper 8 even thought the address on the confirmation was there. She continued to call me Sewage infront of my son. When she finally gave in and looked at the computer she told me she had now Sewage and did not know what happened to my reservation. Then she said she could give me an upgraded room 1 queen bed with a pull out couch. Now mind you I made a reservation for a room with 2 queen beds. So not an up grade unless you count diry linen with cigarett burns and upgrade. The bathroom was so dirty I would not let my son use it until I could go out and buy cleaning supplies to clean it. As far a my name goes Sulich she insisted on call us Sewages I corrected her every time but that did not seem to matter. When I checked out and complained the did not even offer a Sorry. I will think twice before I ever stay at a Supper 8

  18. We stopped at the Super 8 in Harker Heights, Texas outside Killeen, Texas (Fort Hood) en-route to Vicksburg, Mississippi from El Paso, Texas (Fort Bliss). The Super 8 desk clerk ran card for room and told me I only had 13.97 on card, and thus, I figure it was a problem with card. My buddy rented rooms. The next morning when we was approximately 200 miles away from Super 8, my credit card company told me the clerk at Super 8 swiped card twice and for security reasons card stop. The clerk swipe card for $67.97 and $13.97. Super 8 reverse the $13.97, but has not reverse $67.97. Super 8 Corp is giving me the run around. Ref # 3051178

  19. aroura colorado super 8 on 6th avenue. 1st room smelled like raw sewage changed rooms and new room no ac at all. owner comes around after your in room to look for stuff to fix or just seeing whats in your room. rates are way to high for a room with no microwave or fridge. i spent over a decade in prison and some of the cells i had were nicer than the rooms here. this place needs to be bulldozed and anyvody thats stayed here in the last ten years should get a full refund. crackheads watched me take all of my stuff in room and bumbs constantly trying to bumg cigs or change or get a ride somewhere. staff and owners reflect that this place is used by charities to get homeless families in the area off the street and treat most of the guest like homeless freeloaders. i payed 300 cash for a week in a room to be treated like crap, no concerns about the ac in my room not working, owner yelled at my children for playing in rocks. i had to bite my tongue maybe in korea its okay to treat your customers like dirt but this is the united states. if i had wanted to stay in a rundown overpriced korean hotel i would have went to korea not Colorado.

The reservation was for 5 people when we arrived at the hotel the manager/possibly the owner said his computer only said reservations for 3 and wanted to charge us 40 dollars more, good thing I had the email confirmation. We requested a roll away bed when we made the reservation the manager ended up saying that would be $15 more than decided to only charge us $10. The hotel smelled like stale smoke and Ohio has been non smoking in public places for years. The roll away bed had smelly sheets very gross. Very overpriced for what you got. I was told that cancellations had to be 24 hours in advance. I did not know 24 hours in advance that the flight would be cancelled. Thank goodness, I made my reservation through Expedia and was able to get my money refunded. No thanks at all to Barbie. I looks as though I dodge a bullet in not being able to check in. I have never seen so many negative reviews. Not only for the Hotel in Coraopolis, PA but at the corporate website. Dirty rooms and rude staff was the primary complaints, not to mention cockroaches.

I was happy to be able to find a Bible in the motel drawer. I read a couple of chapters, thanks to the local motel and maybe the Super 8 franchise. Some don't allow that any longer. People don't like reading the Bibles which are placed there by the Gideon's..........don't have to read them! We appreciated it!

WOW...the very next day they sure charged us for the room. Called back and talked to the front desk and AMAZINGLY SHE NEVER REMEMBERS TALKING TO US AT ALL!!! They will tell you the manager will be in after 3pm, but however she never seems to be available to talk too. Customer Care keeps transferring you all around the place and say the property has to take care of the problem. REALLY WHO CAN YOU TALK TOO TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED!!!!! 31. I have book hotels for trips through booking.com for over a year. But this time it was a disappointment. But it wasn't the booking.com fault. The Super 8 on 304 East Street, Williamsburg, VA. Needs some attention from the Corporate office. If this is a chain of your hotels. I think you should follow up on your property. First off he didn't even have our reservation. We got the rooms that we booked. But I wish I would have looked at it first. Because I wouldn't have stay. This place was terrible. The office was dirty, windows was dirty, comforter had holes in it, faucets on calcium build up, we had our dogs with us. The grass was so high, that it over our ankles. We had booked 2 rooms. The other was worse than ours. I will probably never stay at a super 8 again. I also sent a message to booking.com as well. This hotel is at 304 East Street, Williamsburg, VA

  32. I just stayed at the Super 8 on Pleasant Valley Road in Fairmont WV. Room was actually clean but reaked of an urine smell around the bed area. Also severe mold in bathroom and I located that inside the bathroom cabinet. Im sure someone way before me had to complain about that smell. This mold was obviously there for atleast a year or longer. I had turned in my key upon checking out and had the desk girl walk to the room with me and showed her. She was quite shocked but then commented they probably dont think to clean there, since its not stocked with anything but for your items. I sat in my car outfront and situated my luggage, etc and the desk girl came outside with a few other co-workers and started to smoke. I'm going to contact main office to see if any of this was reported.

  33. I work at a Super 8 in Tulsa Oklahoma so I believe everything that is being said on here. I work in the office and when i asked the house keeping to do some extra cleaning because they only had 8 rooms to clean i got into trouble by the gm saying that it is to much work for them to do. When all i asked was to clean behind the tv, clean the ac filters and to change out the covers that have holes in them from people smoking in the bed. It is sad to say that I work at a motel that i would never stay in because i know how they clean the rooms. There is not one thing super about Super 8

  37. I'm at the Super 8 motel in Perry, Oklahoma. My first visit to this hotel was the first year it opened, 2001, according to the receptionist. Tonight, August 7th, is my sixth stay since my first in 2001. Up until now we have enjoyed our stays and we enjoy a mexican restaurant up the street and the Braum's Ice Cream store next door. It has been two years since our last stay. The hotel has gone totally to hell. The hot tub is broken and after a 10 hour drive today, I always enjoy the hot tub. Our room, as well as the hotel is filthy. The wall paper is riped off the wall. A cushion on the couch has a hole in it. The laminate on the counter is ripped off. The bed spread is old and worn out. The hall carpets are filthy and the hall walls have marks all over. The dumpster on the south side has a ton of trash on the ground. There is paper and trash scattered all over the property. As I said before, the hotel has gone to hell and you tell that the management could care less. Very sad! There is a Holiday Inn Express and a Comfort Inn on the other side of the interstate. We will be staying there next time. It is shameful for Super 8 to even rent rooms here.

  38. To whom it may concern,

I stayed at Super 8 motel in Canoga Park, CA located at 7631 Topanga Canyon Blvd Canoga Park, CA 91304 on 08/11/13. I must say this is one of the worst experiences i had staying at a hotel. I couldnt get a good nights sleep due to bed bugs nibbling on me all night. I made this aware to the front desk clerk, a asian gentlemen anmed Raymond, and I guess he thought I was gonna ask for a refund so basically he was trying to call me a liar and say it wasnt true. I actually saw the bugs as well. They said they would get back to me. i talked to them about an hour later and they said they didnt find anything in the room. Thats not a real inspection and it it was, it was clear to see Room 207 had bed bugs. These guys don't care about customers and I want my money back for the poor service as well as putting my health in jeopardy because they have a filthy room with bed bugs in it. If they would've have addressed my concerns and not treated me like I needed to make this situation up, I would have left it alone, but I'm afraid some other person will go through this same thing. They charge $90 a night only to get bit by bed bugs and then have a smug attitude to go with it, its a unacceptable.

  39. What happened to customer service and pride in our work? Super 8 times 3 BAD experiences! Rochester Ny the women TOLD us to go to a different hotel!! Batavia NY had blood on the sheets!! Columbus Ohio had drug dealing going on and arrests being made, only after the guy denied beating his girl up but was bold enough to start up again in front of the cops! RUDE is the new Super 8 motto the more rude you are the more Super 8 you are!! My money is good everywhere....guess they don't care!!And People you CAN TAKE those BED BUGS HOME with you!! Is it worth the money you will loose to carry home unwanted pests that carry germs and disease???

When I went to check out we were told this was not a good enough reason to get a refund. I had to threaten to go door to door with my discovery then a refund was given! Never again will I stay at a Super 8!!!!!!!

  42. To Whom it may concern:
On the weekend of Aug. 16th our Sioux City Hockey team stayed at the Super 8 in Roseville MN. I just wanted to point out some things to you as I feel you need to know about them.
The hotel was VERY DIRTY. The floors were filthy. My son walked down the hallway to the front desk and back and we ended up throwing his white socks away because they were so dirty.
We stayed in room 124, which is right by the door to go outside to the back parking lot. Usually the side doors are locked at night with entrance with a key only. This door did NOT have a lock on it so ANYONE could come and go as they pleased, in which we saw three people whom I thought were on drugs, one I questioned if she was a hooker with the way she was dressed….definately not something I want to expose my children too!!!! We did not feel very safe at all. We also had another room, 102, at the other end of the hallway for family members and it was the same at their end of the hallway too with the door NOT having a lock on it at all.
When we first entered our room, there was still garbage in the garbage can and when my daughter pulled the bedspread down the sheets had DRIED BLOOD spots on them.
There were 4 of us staying in the one room and 2 in the other. We did not have enough towels for all of us to use. When I went to the front desk to ask for more towels, I was told they were all out and to come back TOMORROW to get more towels. What hotel does not have enough towels for their guests to use and then to tell them to come back TOMORROW?? That is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
Our screen on our room window was torn and I felt like anyone could get into our room at any time through the window whether we were there or not.
Our door only had the one lock on it and it half the time would not lock when we shut the door. Usually the doors have a chain lock on them as well as a peep hole. There was no way I was going to answer my door without knowing who was knocking, especially being right next to the outside and the drugged out people walking up and down the hallways.
The other room our family members stayed in was just as dirty and looked like maid service only spent 5 minutes if that getting it ready for the next customer.
Overall I feel that there is a health issue with this hotel. We had several people stay at your hotel with some of them leaving after the first night because of how dirty and poorly kept it was. We ourselves spent 375.00 on the two rooms for the 2 nights. That is a lot of money to be spent for us to have such dirty rooms, poor customer service and security issues!!!! I do believe that someone from your corporate headquarters needs to take a look at this hotel with their own two eyes…..I question if the old wiring that is showing throughout the hotel and the sprinkler systems are up to date and up to code?? One of the members in our party is a fire fighter and he said the sprinkler system was old and out of date.
Please take time to take a look further into this hotel, not only for our sake but the sake of other customers. I sure know we will not be staying at this hotel ever again and that is a shame because we come to hockey tournaments in this area several times a year and our team would have definitely stayed at this facility again bringing in several thousands of dollars. Figure there are 15 on a team….15 multiplied by 200 for a 2 night stay is 3000.00. To me that is a lot of money and a lot of business!!
Again, I please ask you to further check into this hotel………..we have stayed at several Super 8 hotels over the years and it is a shame this one is linked to you.

    Sincerely,
    Kammy S.

  44. In-State-Stay:August 17,2013
Our club had a function in TIFTON, Georgia and we stayed the night at the Super 8 motel on 1022 W Second Street at exit 63A- TIFTON,Ga.31794. This was were everyone decided to stay because we came as a group, so it was the spur of the moment. We
were told that we could get our room at the same rate as the others but that did not happen! We got the room tried to turn on the
TV and it would not come on, so we called the front desk and he came to tell us that their was a code that you used but that it
wasn't anywhere on a piece of paper or the hotel key information this was in room 115. We went out to our function to return to
find out that our room smelled of sewage. I immediately call the front desk and he acted like he did not understand what I was
saying so the other guest went to the office and he gave us 213 room smelled much better, but there was 1 thing that stood out
in the room and it was the brown ring around the water in the commode, we called on this, and Kenny Patel said that it was a
"Black"maid that clean the room!!!!!! For a manager to make a (RACIST) remark like that to a customer is uncalled for . Called
corporate Office and the number on line was disconnected which is 1-973-428-9700 and it gave you a choice of other hotels in
the area, Customer services gave no incentive for us being treated that way just to say that they were sorry and that it will be looked into, but that is not enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the treatment of being moved because of the smell/and the racist comment, someone really
needs to look into all of the situations I'm reading about because there were other things such as spiders, not enough towels,
torn curtains, not enough handicap parking, and the pictures of this location does not show this hotel the way it shows in the ad.
We also talked with the maid that we saw that was cleaning the rooms in that section and she stated that she had been off work
and just returning so whom so ever cleaned while she was gone the responsibility falls and them and that she has had run ins
with this manager on several occasions on the remarks that he has said to customers staying in this hotel.
If there was someone that I could talk to the customer service department would not give any names,no discounts, or anything she just said that it would take a week from today's date to get a response back. I hope that the big wigs know that there properties
are not being handled in an appropriate manner. I will never stay at any of the Super 8 chain of hotel/motels any more. When I ask for the name of someone that I could talk to, she say I can't give you the name of any person in the corporate office, that I could talk to her and that she would pass this complaint on. No help at all, if you have to wait so long for a response of this matter, something like this should be taken care of ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
message will be respond to by next Monday

  45. Klamath Falls Oregon, Beware they have bugs that eat you alive while you sleep! The AC units leak so if you leave anything sitting beneath them they will get ruined ie: laptop, clothes etc. Of course the staff doesn't give a crap either.. I loved the response of the manager when I said I have flea bites all over me and asked for a change in rooms. She says... wait for it... "Oregon, Klamath Falls especially doesn't have fleas, they don't survive here" What??!! Lady I was born at night but it wasn't last night! If Oregon doesn't have fleas nor Klamath Falls then why does my dog have a flea collar year around? Why does your Wal-Mart carry flea collars? She also said that the AC units all work just fine! Um really cuz the dripping puddle woke me out of a DEAD SLEEP!!!! She refused to give me corp number and said if I didn't like her hotel then to just simply never come back and stay there!! wtf really, wow! Ever heard of Customer Service? I guess 78.00 was worth losing a customer. I am glad super 8 is doing so well to lose customers right and left and the economy isn't effecting you at all! I will sleep in my car before I sleep in super 8 again.

  46. This hotel was scary. There were vagrants living inside and outside the rooms. I had a small child with me and asked to cancel well before check in time and was denied. I have pictures to show how terrible it looked. Work out room was a joke and locked so no access. Drove past Super 8 on way out of Henderson and saw Super 8 that looked top notch. Advertising is false, you are lured into thinking all Super 8 hotels are in good shape. This is not the case. I say be wary of them and will pass word on to others.

  47. I stayed at the Super 8 in Villa Rica, GA. Upon leaving the next morning the toilet continued to run and overflowed after flushing. I turned off the water and had to leave feces in the toilet. The staff member said that she had talked to her manager and that they would credit my account in a week or so. I never got the refund of even say $10. I called and talked to the Customer Service manager Shae and she said that the Regional Manager, Tony, would call me. Needless to say that hasn't happened. Either Shae shined me on and did not pass my phone number on to Tony or Tony dropped the ball. Still waiting for my phone call.

I could have just let it run and flood my room and the rooms next to me. Maybe next time I will.

We had driven 15 hours for a funeral, arrived at 2:30 am, the lobby was filthy and stunk, the stairs going up to our room were filthy, and upon entering our room the smell was absolutely awful! The floors were not vacuumed, the toilet had fur growing on and in it with urine running down the front and on floor, and the tub was black on the bottom inside! My husband went to turn down the sheets so our children could go to sleep and the sheets were DIRTY! Bodily fluids!! I went down to the front desk twice just to let the clerk know how angry and disgusted I was. I then confronted the General Manager Ramesh Patel the next morning and he still charged me for a room which I couldn't even stay in! Never again Hotel 8!!!!

  51. Super 8 in Hanford CA 93230 Is A joke! They Are The cheapest people that I have ever ran across running a Hotel! First of all they are very rude, no customer service at all!.... Breakfast is from 6:00am to 9:00am no matter what time you get down there to eat it is always a mess and they are out of everything except cereal, they have these canisters with pic's of name brand cereal and started filling them with off brand. thought that was funny! everything else you have to ask for!....a lot of people don't even eat because they just think its gone so they don't ask. I have been watching the owners and the lady goes into all the rooms before house keeping does to collect all left belongings or unused items she talks in her language really loud every morning outside my door yelling. Our stay was for 2 and a half weeks! Very rude and dirty! I hope I will never have to stay here again!

They lie about their amenities. No breakfast, pool is not open, the WiFi does not work unless your in their lobby. The rooms smell like a**, the carpet is dirty. They do not refund you. AC didn't work,T.v was static! Worst place to spend half a hundred on!! OSHA needs to step in, they have a cooler that is full of ice but no stainless steel scoop. Employees are nice but seemed scared something is wrong with the rooms before they send you off to your room. They try and make their best effort when we had these above problems. It must be hard to come to work and apologize all the time and put up with people complaining. My biggest question is why would their manager let their employees be treated that way? Not once did I see the manager.Horrible facility to stay at. And once again poor employees.

Our first morning there we went to breakfast, it was very busy and very full. There was one young lady killing herself trying to keep up with breakfast while she did nothing but text iI'm assuming. Our room was untidy, smelt bad and didn't look anything like the online pictures. When we tried to talk to her about it, she made excuses saying she had limited and lazy staff!! So I drift off to sleep to wake up a few hrs later to find her sitting up she told me that she killed another bug so I asked what did she do with it I wanted to see what kind of bug she got it from the trash so I had to look online SURR ENOUGH! BED BUGS!!checked my bed since I took a pillow from her bed of course there was one on my bed! Got my husband up & he went to the front desk they moved us to a room with one king bed so later that day we had to move again to a room with dbl beds. We asked if we can be compensated for this experience one night and was told no! So we checked out on Sat but pd thru Sun and was told we had to wait until 6pm for a refund when I asked for the mngr he was there a few hours ago but now he's in VA...really? So I told the clerk call him so she called somebody I don't know who but I got my refund reciept. At least she was very pleasant. Did I mention that the towels & washclothes were very dingy! I would not reccomend this place to a dog! Very dissatisfied! It needs to be torn down!

  56. On Friday night, September 13, 2013, we stayed in Super 8 in Essex, Maryland. It is the only hotel in town. What a disappointment. I couldn't believe that a property was in deplorable condition. The two pillows that were on the bed was as flat as pancakes. There was two glue traps on the floor to catch bugs, my husband stepped on one and I had to pry the trap off his foot. We had a TV, no remote. The elevator looks like at one time was a room. Who ever designed this building, gave it a thought later that you need an elevator. Now breakfast, there was cereal, two kinds of coffee, hot water, but no tea bags. Now the bread, there was three slices-one was the crust--stale. A jar of jelly and butter, the kind you would use with your family at home. Everyone had to use the same big container of butter, no individual packets, no individual packets of jelly.
I have read some of the previous comments of other people and they all seem to agree, that you need to address the franchise people. I think you should consider contacting someone to go on the show Under Cover Boss.
With a big corporation that sells these franchises you would think that your honchos should address these problems.
I think it now time to send all your big shots to the field and scope out and see for them selves.
The corporation Wyndham Hotel Group has some beautiful time share of which we have stayed in, but did you forget the person or family that can't afford a time share.
If you were smart, you wouldn't have a comment area on your corporate web site.

  62. I made a reservation online through the website at 2400 National Rd Wheeling, Wv. The reservation was for 10-15 to 10-16 2013 but was supposed to be for 10-16 to 10-17- 2013. So when I showed up, the clerk realized the mistake because she had papers saying I was a no show. She then went and got the manager. The Manager said she couldn't do anything about it and I should call the 1-800 #. So I called the 1-800 # she gave me and they told me they could not do anything about it. The branch manager was the only one who could do anything about compensation for the error. So I accepted that I would be charged for another night even though I did not stay the previous night. I was given a room discount and I arrived in room 304 and left my things in the room. I then went to a concert that was in town. Upon returning to the room I took down the sheets and I found a bed completely covered in urine and what looked like a blood stain. I called the front desk and ask for someone to please come to the room to see the bed. I said I would not stay in that room and the gentlemen on duty that evening ( Ryan ) did upgrade me to a suite. I can't understand why the branch manager would not compensate for human error as far as the financial end of this deal went, in the first place, but to then put me in a room so appalling was just outrageous. I can't imaging I or any of my friends will ever stay at a Super 8 motel again after this incident.

  63. From the looks of all of these complaints I am sure nothing will be done and everyone and I do mean everyone should never stay at a super 8 hotel again. My husband and I stayed at the super 8 hotel in Flagstaff Arizona on October 12, 2013. Never, ever again. The window was cracked from the top to the bottom. The curtain was falling apart and you could not even close it all the way and people walking by could look in if they wanted to. The safety lock was broken so you could not lock the door correctly. There was no way I could walk around with no shoes on since the carpet was so filthy. I would not even take a shower, I felt cleaner the way I was, then how I would feel after showering in that filth. It was a Saturday night and we had tried to find a room elsewhere and there were not vacancies, so we were stuck for the night. We did not get any sleep that night and when we were still awake at 4:30 am, we just got dressed and got out of there. When I went into the office to check out I found it pretty comical when the clerk had me sign a form that I would be charged if there was any damage. I just laughed and said how can you damage something like that. What a disgusting place to stay.

  66. Review of the Super 8 on Churchland Blvd in Chesapeake, VA:
I don't know where to start, all I wanted was a clean comfortable room to lay my head for one night. So lets start, when I walked up to check in the young girl working behind the bulletproof glass asked for my reservation number, which I didn't have since I didn't make one. I told her I just wanted one queen room for one night and I was paying cash. She then opened the window (I guessed at that point I had a harmless appearance?) and tapped on the front of the glass to indicate a note that basically stated if I paid cash I would have to leave a credit card number on file or put an additional $50 deposit. Why not just tell me ?Really...... So I gave her the credit card and got the all important room card. After running back to my vehicle to collect some reading glasses, I returned to the lobby to see our young auditor in training on the phone talking to .....the manager, the police ? Maybe she thought I left a bomb in my bag, she told me not to leave, then hung up and gave the go ahead that I could go to my room. How bizarre ! Well that should have been the warning, because the room was pathetic.....where to begin ? I checked the bed and it seemed fine, but when I turned on the heat (it was to be 25 that night, felt like 35 in the room) it didn't work. I quickly traced the problem to the cord plugged into the wall. After moving a chair, I reset the cord and presto....heat ! About an hour later (10:15) I needed to go online, so I called the front desk to ask for the WiFi password, no answer........it rang 25 times at least, I laid down the handset and let it ring, to no avail. And so I crashed.....however the next morning I found the following once I turned all of the lights and opened the blinds:
The coffee in the room was stale, forget it. I went to continental buffet breakfast downstairs which consisted of coffee that wasn't stale, waffles and sweet rolls. What buffet ??! The lone elevator, located beside the lone icemaker, was being used by the guys bringing carpet downstairs, an endless parade so I took the stairs. Once back in my room I found hair in the sink, the sink wouldn't drain unless you removed the stopper, hair dryer plug and receptacle looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a year. The main lampshade looked like it went 12 rounds with Mike Tyson, and lost. All this entertainment for 59 dollars and 04......thats right 4 cents. That must be a collection for a new lampshade. Do not, I repeat DO NOT stay here unless you like all of these problems. For $60 I'll stay anywhere but another Super 8

  67. Oh yes, more to add.......the NS room smelled like a smoking room, the comforter which was about 1/16" thick, was fiithy. I threw it on the floor and turned up the heat......what else ? The TV worked fine, including the 'CLEAN' remote, which was supposed to be easier to clean. How about using the old remote and hiring another cleaner to clean the room and comforter. Ripoff city !!!

  68. We were traveling with our miniature schnauzer "which we do alot" and needed a room. we searched the Internet and the super 8 in Huntsville AL showed they were pet friendly we called the clerk said "yes" they were, but when we arrived to check in he then told us we couldnt bring in our dog and we would have to leave him in the vehicle. First this is inhumane and second i cant do that. I took him inside anyways because i felt i was mislead all the way around by this hotel. The hotel was very noisy people were partying "it was a Saturday night". I was awoken about 2a.m. to someone making noise outside our door and about 2minutes later our phone rang was the clerk yelling saying our dog was barking. he was not barking he was sleeping as we all were until he was poking around outside our room. then he called again yelling i held the phone out and asked him if he could hear my dog barking he couldnt of course and then i told him we were leaving. I see how Super 8 run there hotels. they allow people to trash there hotels and make noise that disturbs their guests and thats OK they would rather worry about a little dog that wasnt bothering anyone. We ended up sleeping in our truck with our dog. I will never stay at another Super 8. The false advertisement these hotels put out on the Internet that get you to their hotel and then you feel have no choice but to stay. NO i have a choice!! The Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn also advertised pet friendly on the internet but didnt allowed pets once we called. They should all be ashamed of themselves for this false advertisement.

  69. I am forwarding this information through a friend, this is unacceptable...

Tonight was a first. We reserved a room at Super 8 at 846 Center Street in Deer Park, TX. We were attending a party with some of my coworkers and didn't want to drive home late at night. When we arrived I went to the office to check in. I asked the receptionist if he could confirm that our room was on the bottom floor because my husband is in a wheelchair. He immediately told me that we couldn't stay because we didn't specify that he was handicapped when we booked the room. I asked him to show me the room and assured him that the room would be fine. He refused to allow us to stay because he said that if he did we would sue him. I was absolutely flabbergasted. We told him the room would be fine for our needs and he continued to refuse us. When my husband became irritated with him he literally threw us off the property. I have never in my entire life experienced anything like this. His argument was that the room wasn't accessible by a ramp, yet the room clearly marked as handicapped accessible did not have a ramp either. We were forced to go find other accommodations for the night. I am not one of those "sue them for all they have got" kind of people but I will make sure that this outrage will be taken as far as I am capable of taking it. Whatever you do NEVER stay at this establishment if you can help it. They are freakin insane! The manager's name was Stephen Patel. Horrible horrible place of business !!!

  71. Called about 930pm to let them know that we would be arriving later than expected.....5 1/2 hr drive later we arrive at the hotel at about 1145pm. Check in, get to our room, start getting unpacked, noticed the alarm clock didn't work and there was no ashtray (and yes we were in a smoking room)...called the front desk and the clerk said "I can't find an ashtray, guess you are going to have to use a Styrofoam cup with water in it."....and then my boyfriend calls me in to the bathroom to show me the hair all over the bathroom floor, trash can had two empty coors light beer cans in it as well as tampon wrappers....called the front desk and the clerk immediately brought us a key to a new room across the hall....we REPACKED and moved to the new room and found the tv remote did not work...so had to take that down to the desk and get towels. Finally get to sleep (after making a hand made DO NOT DISTURB sign as there wasn't one in the room), wake up in the morning to take a shower....the bottom of the tub was stained with brown stains, in the shower on the shower wall was a nice dispenser for body wash, shampoo and conditioner (no little travel bottles in the bathroom) with a sign on it saying how they are trying to be "more green friendly and decrease the dumping of plastic bottles in our landfills...." problem is that there was NOTHING in the dispensers!! Luckily I had brought some body wash (by the way, didn't have a washcloth cuz the one that the sent to us when we called for towels, etc, had what looked to be smeared mascara and lipstick on it..... but after getting out of the shower I took the "clean" towel to dry off and what is on that? More make up and lipstick stains!! Found a clean one and continued on....went downstairs to the "complimentary continental breakfast at 8am (open from 6-10a) there were two cereal dispensers, 3 pieces of white bread to toast and about 12 cold Danish ...we obviously ate elsewhere....we got back to our room about 9pm to find a note on the floor outside of our room that read "please see front desk person, Thanks"...so back downstairs we went, new desk clerk tonight and she said "hey, somehow you were deleted from the system do you mind getting me your card again?" to which I replied "it's back upstairs on the 4th floor in my room" she said she needed it, so my bf went BACK upstairs to get it and, go figure, then she realized the guy last night never changed our room information, still has us listed as being in the first nasty room! I asked if the manager would be in in the morning because I wanted to speak to him/her, she told me he was on vacation for the week, and I said "no one is covering while your mgr is on vacation?" she replied NO. Told her about not having anything in the "green" body wash dispenser and she told me that "oh we only fill those upon request." OMG I will seriously never stay here again....what a CF this was!!! And trust me, a letter is going to the corporate office!! BTW no working smoke detectors in the room either

  74. I work at super 8 and just so everyone knows, Each super 8 in owned and ran by differnt people. So to say that you will never stay at any Super 8 again is not fair. Our location in Redmond, Oregon, is actually very clean and very understanding of peoples problems and requests. Of course there is always times we can not meet expectations, just as any other place/ store you will ever go. Also when someone wants to do a early check inn, (even if the parking lot is empty) doesnt mean housekeeping has got around to cleaning all the rooms yet. I believe this is a great company to work for and i do enjoy my job. Just because one Super 8 is bad doesnt mean they all are:)

  75. Super 8 in colonial Williamsburg Virginia is a joke...... the 2nd shift desk worker named Teresa is the only good person employed and after finding out she is held at minimum wage after stoppless attempts at improving the happiness of her guests, I felt terrible. Atleast pay a hard worker for working hard. She is very helpful and quick to take care of any issues within her title to the people that stay there, no matter how long or short their stay. The Trivedi's false advertise and the breakfast is a joke. there are rumors of the Trivedi's bribing and entertaining the corporate inspector known as Mike. who gladly accepts and passes this property as a friend, not an inspector. yet. if you visit this motel , don't expect the super 8 promises. The entire motel is roach infested and the breakfast is a joke. The 2nd floor is smoking live ins that never check out. Rumors of prostitution, drugs and a very unfriendly housekeeper by the name of Amy are not rumors at all. I have personally stayed at this property 2 or 3 times. Once even as a weekly tenet when I was disrespected daily. public drinking, teens running the halls drinking and smoking and the strong nightly smell of marijuana is true. Fixing things that need fixing is a joke. nothing is fixed properly and favoritism happens daily. the 3rd shift man known as David is very rude and should not be able to run the front desk. Police are in the building every other day for fights, drunks, and theft. I personally witnessed a drug deal between two second floor tenets, one in which being the housekeepers son David which I spoke of on front desk over the grave yard shift. the housekeeper has been there for over 5 years and still can not perform her duties as the motel is filthy. There has to be someone, somewhere who has the power to change these conditions outside the motel. if corporate really values keeping the name "super 8" a respectful, family environment, then something must change.

  76. I recently stayed at the Super 8 in Central City, Ky and when we left my son left his Nike slides (sandals) in the room. I know they were left there because we only went home and they were not in the car. I called to see if anything was recorded as being left on the room the next day but they said no. So I can only guess that the housekeeper stole them but after reading some of the other comments I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the integrity of this company. I will never stay at any Super 8 again!

  77. Buena Vista Super 8 Motel
Buena Vista, Colorado, United States, North America
    Unfair Owner

I used to work at Super 8 Buena Vista CO. and the owner who is from India is cheap or shall I say greedy, they pay their housekeeping employees only $3.75 PER ROOM, or if they like you they increase it to $4.00 per room, at the end of the day we only make between $5 to $6 per hour, below minimum wage! most Super 8 hotels that I know they pay their employees hourly rate or if it is per room it is at least $6 per room. The owner who is a couple from India treat their employees like slaves, they take advantage of the people who wants to work or who needed to work, I just feel bad for those exchange students that they hire during summer and all other helpless americans, I hope the Colorado department of labor and employment will respond to my compaint and do investigation to this company. I want to warn everyone of the breakfast they serve, it might be food from yesterday, also, If I were you do not use their pool, it is dirty! they don't change water. Please investigate the management.

  79. I recently stayed at the Super 8 in Dodge City Ks. We had multiple rooms and 2 out of the three rooms we rented were infested with bed bugs. My crew left there with multiple bites. I have been staying there regularly for awhile but after that have chosen a different hotel. I have learned that since our incident almost the entire 3rd floor as well as some rooms on second are infested yet nothing is being done about them. Employees are covering up the problem while it just gets worse. The staff there is very friendly and it's unfortunate that the hotel has this problem. We are sad to have to take our business elsewhere.

  80. Super 8 in Watertown MA is filthy. Management very unresponsive. Gave me a room with no working lock or TV and non-functioning heating system. It took the very rude manager 5 days to return my call, then he refused to discount the amount I had pre-paid for the room. I have contacted the health dept about this property and plan also to write the mayor of Watertown. Why does a lovely city like that tolerate such an awful hotel property? Also Immigration and Naturalization should check the status of the workers there.

  81. Super 8 in Dodge City Ks gave me food poisoning. I ate breakfast there including hard boiled egg and a biscuit. About 2 hours later I started vomiting uncontrollably as well as having HORRIBLE stomach pains. Finally made it home 3 hours later and checked in to local hospital. After IV fluids and medication I was able to go home feeling half way human. Because of the timeline my Dr. Said it had to have been whatever I ate for breakfast. Yuck....I will not ever stay at a super 8 again and I will be reporting to the health department on this matter. Food safety needs to monitored there.

  82. What I am trying to understand is why nothing is being done about Super 8 hotels? We stayed at the one in Jackson, MS on I- 55N which was despicable! Please see the photos and reviews on Yelp.com regarding the establishment in Jackson. There are absolutely too many negative reviews on this hotel chain for nothing to be done! We came with proof of how dirty the hotel is, not to mention the illegal activity going on there.

  83. I have stayed at super 8's. I sometimes stay at the Super 8 south in Madison, WI. This one is very clean and nice. The employee's there are very helpful. One front desk agent is, well lets say way to friendly. She goes in to available hotel rooms and takes pictures of her self with her phone. She texts hotel guests(males) with her pictures and her phone number. This shouldn't be happening. This girl (Kaitlynn Wade) should not be calling or texting any one from her cell phone. She is a Super 8 employee.

  84. On 5/17/2014 I booked 2 hotel rooms in a Super 8 hotel in St. Petersburgh/Clearwater Florida through Expedia til 5/19/2014 for my prom weeked. I arrived at the hotel around 7:00pm on 5/17/2014. I checked in & brought my things up to see the rooms & get situated. The rooms were absolutely disgusting. Both of the rooms had yellow stains on the bed sheets & pillow cases not to mention the mattress itself was covered in dark stains. The carpet was so dirty that after walking barefoot on it for only a few minutes the bottoms of my feet were turning black. The appliances, dressers, bed side tables & bathrooms looked as if they had only been wiped down with a wet rag. Nothing was sanitary. Displeased I called down to the front desk to ask if it was possible that I get a refund. The manager was absolutely rude. So I then called my mother in almost tears explaining to her that the hotel & the rooms were just plain out nasty. This was not what I had in mind for my prom weekend. She then herself called the front desk & explained. The manager then said he had two other rooms we could look at. She agreed that that would be reasonable although at this time I had called Expedia & complained to them. After the manager had gotten off of the phone with my mother an Expedia representative called asking that I get a refund also. I guess this might have made the manager mad because then he refused to show me the other two rooms. So, my boyfriend went down stairs to get a trolly (the luggage carrier) so we could check out with our things. As he went downstair he heard the manager speaking to visitors in the lobby about how we thought the hotel was disgusting & we were checking out, etc. As we both came down stairs with our things I calmly asked if we could check out. He then came out from behind his desk & spoke to us infront of the visitors in the lobby making it seem as if we were doing something wrong. All the people looked at us in disgust. I was so shocked about how unprofessional & rude the manager was being. He then explained that he was going to show us two other rooms until Expedia had called. I just kept nodding my head & saying "Ok." because I was at my breaking point at this time. After he was done speaking to us for 10 or so minutes we rolled the trolly (luggage cart) out to our car & began loading it up when the manager came outside to mingle with other visitors who were by their vehicle. He was pointing at us & telling them what was going on. They all laughed & joked loudly about us. I am much more than dissatisfied with Super 8 & Expedia. After leaving the hotel I called my friends who were going to be staying in the other room & told them about what had happened. They still went to the hotel & the manager was completely polite & accomendating to them showing them three different rooms til they found one they liked & even dropped the price for them. I don't understand why we were mistreated & they were not. I am beyone irate about this & I do want something to be done.

  85. Stayed at the 3550 Crain Highway, Waldorf, Md - The location is perfect..but I did have to write this complaint to tell others what you will encounter.

Front desk and lobby area looked nice (free complimentary coffee and ample parking) a plus. I thought this would be okay since I was staying only 1 night. When I arrived there was no one for a while at the front desk. (April 16, 2014) Desk lady was not friendly (glasses short hair). What every happened to polite customer service? ???

I had request a non smoking room when I booked online. I asked to see the room before I paid and she seemed offended. As she gave me the key to check the room, as I turned the corner to take the stairs the smell of smoke and stale smoke hit me in the face. YUCK!

The stairwell up to the 3rd floor were cleaned but reeked of smoke. There were trash bags from guest in the hallway of the 3rd floor, and the key she gave me didn't work the door. After dealing with his unpleasant attitude I really didn't want to talk to her again. The unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming after 3-4 minutes on this floor. (I know you get what you pay for) So.......

I had to go back down the stairs and let her know the key didn't work. I guess she didn't believe me so she came back upstairs to find out-the key didn't work. DUH!!! So now she tells me to wait while she goes down the stairs to retrieve another key. (I'm trying to hold my breathe-because the smell of smoke is offensive). She comes back with a key to let me the room. I must say the room was OK once I was inside- tolerable for a cheap price for reasonable accommodations (microwave/refrigerator/TV). Bathroom sink/tub were clean. The room had a desk, but the light bulb didn't work. It shows this location has lousy housekeeping.

They should not ask you when you apply on line if you want smoking or no smoking because it doesn't matter-the whole building is FULL OF SMOKE. . With me being a non-smoker this was awful and I was not expecting to have to inhale fumes of smoke all night. So......

I paid for the room-went and bought Lysol spray, Lysol wipes. When I got back to the motel I sprayed like crazy. I soaked the entry carpet to the front door outside and inside my room because I didn't want to gag on the cigarette smell. I sprayed the curtains to the window with Lysol-then went to open the window to let fresh air in and saw there was not screen. I wiped down the toilet, bath basin, desk, etc. As I went back to the car to get my overnight bag I sprayed the Lysol again and again thru out the stairs. Luckily for me I always bring my own sheets, blanket etc. and I'm glad I did.

** This location is a great location near the malls and many eating places if you need a quick night in the area. I have no problem with Motel 8 but the Corporate office needs to fix several things. Get some commercial heavy duty air freshers in this establishment quick and in the rooms. Some are made to dispense in intervals of 30 minutes or so.

    1. Be an undercover BOSS and check out this place and your employees
2.. no screens in the window
3 black visible mold spots on the shower curtain (change them)
    4. the toilet backed up (by the 4th flush)
    5. Better housekeeping to ensure light bulbs are working
    6. backside of toilet dirty.
    7. Clean the carpets with some commercial products to get rid of the smoke smell.

Untidy Guest leaving their trash bags in the hallway is not a good look for pending guest. The front desk lady commented and actually removed the trash herself.

Mold is very unhealthy and if the Corporate Office is reading this you need to make sure that your housekeepers (remove and replace the shower curtains). Shower curtains aren't that costly.

But now that i have a service dog due to me being a wounded veteran they said i wasnt allowed without all the paperwork for the dog well me being new asked them if that meant the shot records? Well they said no and it was they needed proof that my dog was. Well with me even being new to all the ADA laws i even know that by law there are only 2 questions they or anyone is allowed to ask. 1. is it a service dog. 2. what service does it provide. there are no papers or ids on these dogs yet cause it isn't regulated yet. So i called the Headquarters and they told me its a franchise so there was nothing they was able to do about it. I have filed a ADA complaint on this subject. Cause this was in April this year and well its now May which is more than a few days. Maybe this will make there HR due more training on this subject.

  92. I booked 20 rooms for our two baseball teams at the Super 8 in Jacksonville, IL. We arrived from our 8:30 game, ordered pizza for a few families and was sitting in the lobby. We had not brought in all of our belongins yet as it was a long day and we were just chilling!! We stayed at this hotel last year and had a wonderful experience so we booked again. This year was not the same experience by any means!! We were talking with the young lady working the desk and she helped us order from a local pizza establishment. The new clerk came on at 10 or 11. I went up to speak to him as I remembered him from last year. We discussed his baby that was expected any day. This time around, he was very ugly with him mouth. He was disrespecful and spoke to me as if I were in trouble. First off, he told me that if he wanted to work in a party room or BAR he would have applied there. Please keep in mind we were surrounded by our two teams, checking in, ordering food, etc. He also told us that he was SURE there were children running around the hotel not being watched by DRUNK parents. Keep in mind again, that we just walked in the door from a day on the ball fields. He THEN went on to remind us that we were here to be with our children not being alcolholics in the front lobby. He then cussed at us. He told us his name was Leroy, but I don't know this to be true. Fact of the matter we are paying our money. Arrived to the hotel hungry, ordered our food and was told that we were nothting but a bunch of alcoholics who didn't care about our kids!! He told us that if we didn't leave the hotel lobby, he was going to call the police. I am OUTRAGRED by this behavior and emarrassed for your establishment. We come to Jacksonville, IL several times a year with TWO-THREE teams. Do you know how many rooms that it????? about 35. Big MISTAKE, LEROY!!! WE will NOT be back to the JACKSONVILLE, IL Super 8 and I will guarantee you, I will use social networking in all of St. Louis to make sure that NO STL teams use your hotel. I will destroy your name in EVERY sense of the form!! You better bet you bottom dollar!!!!! This is the worst behavior from a hotel employee that I have EVER seen in my life. LEROY needs some hotel management skills and PEOPLE SKILLS!! Our three teams that are coming here in Sept will NOT be at the Jacksonville, IL Super 8. My teams will be contacting you to discuss this matter further. But to be called an alcoholic when we walk in the door, because we have coolers and have ordered pizza is uncalled for. To be told to go to our rooms and enjoy our families and not have a beer is UNCALLED for. Shall I go on??? I think not. As far as I know, this is not the BIBLE BELT of the country and drinking beer and/or soda and eating pizza by adults and children IS ALLOWED. CALL ME CRAZY!!! You will miss out on a lot of money from my teams in the future. What a crying shame for your and your company. I do hope that Leroy and the Jacksonville, IL owner are addressed by your cooporate office as this is an outrage!!!!!!!!!

  96. Accidentally booked a reservation at the Super 8 (3617 N. Pan Am Expwy San Antonio, TX) thought it was one that we had stayed at previously. From the moment we checked in, it was overwhelmingly DISGUSTING!! Dead cockroaches all over the floor, the furniture was dirty, torn up, tiles falling or missing completely in the bathroom and on the jacuzzi tub. Live cockroaches found in the bathroom, bedbugs found around the mattress area, a tube of personal lube found made up in the bed linen. Numerous drug deals being performed in parking lot, prostitutes working the parking lot. Tried to complain to management when we left (which was immediately) but was told they were not on site. This place should not be part of the SUPER 8 chain, and what is wrong with corporate that they do not go out at least once a year and check the conditions of their franchises.

  97. The Super 8 in Lynchburg, Virginia is the worse hotel I have ever come across in my years in extensive travels. The hotel room was dusty, dirty, musty and stinking. The plumbing was the worse. I lived with a backed up toilet for two nights. I was fortunate to find another place to stay, cutting my 5 night stay in this nightmare to a 2 sleepless night stay. I am almost certain that there are bedbugs and other pests or bugs. My allergies have flared up and so has my eczema from being in this place. I had to go out and buy a large can of Lysol, blankets, etc to try to make the best out of this stay, but after two nights of stench and plumbing issues, I decided to find another place and make the sacrifice to stay somewhere else. I thought that because this was a Wyndham hotel, they would have improved from past rumors of poor facilities. But it is evident that there has been no change and the conditions are less than subpar. This hotel SHOULD BE CONDEMNED!

  100. I don't think Super 8 OWNERS read any of these because nothing gets done. But my story is we stayed in San Antonio my 2nd time in a super 8 and my LAST TIME this was the dirtiest place we had ever stayed in the chair at the desk I would not even let my dog sit in it because of the dirt. we walked in and the toilet was running the hair dryer wasn't working lights were broken and smelled like mildew there were no fitted sheets on the bed and the pillows smelled of $#&^. And my AARP discount what a joke they told me what my bill was going to be charged but when I got the statement from the bank they charged us full price. WELL THANK YOU SUPER 8 FOR THE WORSE STAY ANYWHERE. Sincerely lost customer!!!

  101. Super 8 South Boston, VA
We were worried when we pulled into an empty parking lot with painting going on at the entrance. These concerns were put to rest when the sweetest lady welcomed us with cold bottled water, a smile and just kindness to us (we were exhausted) Our king room was spacious and clean (except a hair in the tub and some spots on the wall behind the door - minor things) Our issues began just after 1 am when a loud alarm frightened us. We looked outside and in the hallway and saw no smoke or anything and it went out quickly so we tried to go back to sleep. Between 3 and 4 am that alarm went off no less than 4 times. When I called the front desk after the third time, a less than sympathetic man passed me off to the manager - who was clearly not interested in speaking with me about the issues. Shortly thereafter an enormous firetruck was outside our window. So, add to those alarms the engine and loud radio communications from that truck. Its well after 4 am and I personally had gotten just over an hours sleep. The fire personnel were apparently able to remedy the alarm situation at some point but there was no sleeping for us. The manager indicated to my husband that he had contacted Expedia to negate the room charge in light of the fact we paid for a place to sleep and there was no sleep to be had. We shall see if this charge is in fact reverse - if not corporate will be hearing from us. We fully realize that it is possible management had no control over the issue - however the fact remains we paid for SLEEPING accomodations.
I completed a review on tripadvisor and received the lame comment that they did what was needed to assure our safety - we were not in danger! There was no fire, no smoke nothing putting us in danger.
We were promised a refund by the manager who said he contacted expedia and no shock - we have yet to see that refund.

  103. We recently stayed at a Super 8 in New Jersey, I was in complete shock when i walked in the room. Cob-webs on the ceilings, dirt or I guess I should say EXTREME DIRT EVERYWHERE, stains on the carpet, the ironing board cover was stained and I wouldn't even use it to iron my clothes. They NEVER brought us clean towels or coffee. I will NEVER stay at a Super 8 again.....worst hotel experience we have ever had!!!!!!!!!

  104. my friends and I stayed at the super 8 in Greensburg Pa on July 25 .Upon check in the clerk was told that each couple would be paying for their own rooms. This was made very clear. When I checked out the next day I again made it clear with the clerk on duty that each couple would be paying for their own room.A few days later I was checking my bank statement and saw that I was charged for both rooms.I called the hotel and explained things and was told that the cost of the other room would be refunded. Its been almost two weeks and still no refund. Needless to say it will be the last stay at Super 8

  105. I stayed at the Super * on Kimberly Ave, New Haven, Connecticut on August 21, 2014. I must say that in the last two weeks I have been on the road and have stayed each night at a less expensive hotel motel accomodation. There is a saying "you get what you pay for!" but this Super * needs to be free!! customer service at the front desk, I got a dispair gasp of frustration from the clerk just as I walked in the door. I never said a word before she let out a sigh, my first response was did I mess up your day because I walked in the door? she responded "I was trying to get out of here!" (huh???) then she had issues finding my reservation, okay granted, it happens. once it was found, she put in rm 241, i distinctly asked for non-smoking but on entrance into the room, it appeared that this was the smoking hang out, the room was still filled with the stench of smoke, it was like a fog in the room. I was tired, i laid down. the sheets had holes in them, top cover spread and the sheets. I set the alarm clock, it didn't work. the light fixture was falling off the wall. I tried to use the bathroom and the toilet refused to flush. this place was a nightmare!!! the following morning upon checkout, i asked for a receipt, they told me they couldn't get me one because I had paid through the reservation company on my credit card?? I asked "you mean to tell me that you can't give me a business record that I was here last night?? I would not recommend this place in a thousand years to anyone... And I truly believe that corporate needs to inspect the establishments that carry its name. Nathan Page

  106. On August 18, 2014 my husband and I traveled 18hrs from Mississippi to attend a family get together, first one since death of our mother. We chose Super 8 in Mokena, Ill because it was close to where my father was in at in a Rehab Center after his car accident. We arrived at 1:00pm and were hoping to check in early so we would get to family reunion dinner....Desk clerk was very rude and said she would charge us for another day if we checked in before 2:00. At that time my husband brought in our 10# dog on a leash..she informed us that if we left the room, we had to bring "the dog" with us. I thought this was a "PET FRIENDLY" motel. I paid $15.00 a night extra for my pet. She said rules were rules! My husband said a few choice words secondary from being over tired after the 18 hr drive. So, since I did not give a 24 hour notice I was not getting able to get a refund. We had to go and find a boarding kennel for my poor dog. By the time we found one, the family dinner was over and I had some real pissed off family members .I booked two days at this motel the 18th and 19th of August, 2014...then, when we finally got to our room, the tub had hairs in it. There was no cable TV and my husband went down to complain, there was another clerk there. She was very apologetic and sent someone up to the room to check it out. Our room was the ONLY room that had no TV. (The cable had been pulled from from back of TV and the wall). The next morning he went down for the contienental breakfast, and was informed by the rude clerk, that the kitchen was under renovation...for the last 3 months, so there was NO breakfast either!!!! When we called for reservations, they should have let us know about No breakfast and that it was NOT really a Pet Friendly motel. We ALWAYS stay at Super 8 Motel when we travel, and we always bring our 10# dog. We usually stay at the Super 8 in Manhattan/Monee exit in Ill because mom lived in Monee. I just could not bare to stay there since she died last year. This trip we also stayed at the Super 8 motel in Pigeon Forge, TN. We had NO problems with this "PET FRIENDLY" motel.
I would NOT recommend The MOKENA Super 8 to ANYONE. The rude clerk was an Assisstant Manager named Betty Flores-Guzman. DO NOT EVER, EVER book at this motel. I have tried to call Corporate with NO avail...so if corporate reads this please respond to this complaint.

  107. We made reservations in Rolla, Missouri at the Super 8 when we were taking our son back to college. I made sure the reservation was for a smoke free room and mentioned that I have severe respiratory problems and go into respiratory arrest around cigarette smoke. The facility does not separate the ventilation system so the whole second floor which is suppose to be smoke free reeked of smoke. Fortunate for me, my husband went upstairs first and noticed it. We were then moved to the first floor room. When we turned back the sheets there was a 8 inch slit in the sheets. The bed was sunken in the middle and you couldn't stay on one side of the bed-you fell to the middle. If you laid on your back your knees buckled backwards. Impossible to get to sleep. I took my soon to college without any sleep - not the way to launch your child into the next chapter of life. We were booked for 2 nights and we checked out after one. I was given a receipt showing the credit and that we stayed only 1 night. However they never credit my credit card. I have to file a dispute with the credit card company to get my credit back. Not a way to do business. I asked for the manager to call and never received a call - we paid full price for a room that was falling apart! I grew up on mission in a third world country in the middle of nowhere and the beds there are better than at the Super 8. Never a worse room in my life!

  108. Stayed at super 8 Garysburg, North Carolina. Jewelry was taken from my suitcase while we were at breakfast. when we returned to the room the door was open (we had locked it) and 5 pieces of jewelry were gone. After may phone calls and emails to the corporate office I got back all but two pieces of jewelry. I was told it was found in the laundry room so obviously house keeping enter our room and stole the jewelry. The absolutely worst hotel I have ever dealt with.. Beware don't leave valuables in your room they will be stolen. We will NEVER stay at a super 8 ever again.

  109. We came in late to a Super 8 motel in London Ky. The man that checked us in was nice (so was the lady in the morning) but that was the only good experience there! The walls where filthy and moldy. The microwave was broke. There where even hard used towels hanging there from the last costumers. If corporate is interested in fixing this we do have pictures and more details.

  110. WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT THESE COMPLAINTS! I know large groups of men who work in the refinery that stayed this time around at super 8 in Louisiana. I WILL BE SURE TO MAKE SURE NONE OF THEM EVER STAY AT A SUPER 8, especially with nothing being done about the complaints. THE ROOM SERVICE HAVE GONE THROUGH MY BAGS TWICE ALREADY, THAT I KNOW OF. THEY DO NOT VACCUM THE FLOORS OR CLEAN THE SINK OR MIRROR. THEY DO NOT CLEAN THE BATHROOM FLOORS EITHER. ALL THEY DO IS TAKE OUT TRASH, CHANGE SHEETS, AND REPLACE TOWELS. MY FEET ARE INCREDIBLY DIRTY AFTER SHOWERING FROM WALKING ON THE STICKY CARPET. ALL OF THE WOOD IN HERE IS STICKY AS WELL. IT IS COMPLETELY DISGUSTING. I HAVE STAYED AT MOTEL 6 WAYYYYY BETTER THAN THIS. YOU WILL BE LOSING OUT ON A LOT BUSINESS FROM THE REFINERY LIFE, YOU CAN BE SURE ABOUT THAT.

  111. Mine was in Federal Way Washington state Super 8 on 348th St. Bed bugs in first room, none in room they transferred us to. You can complain to the motel or the corporate headquarters and as you can see in previous complaints above you get no responses to the health problems. Send a letter or E-mail to the city or the county Health Department (or Department of Health however they are listed if you are looking via the internet), describing the vermin or filthy state of the room number and date accommodation you experienced. The health department should at least be aware of the conditions and inspect then or on their next inspection.
