My name is Betty Gray-Cameron and i would like to report an incident that occurred at SMoothie King store #83 in Baton Rouge, La. I called this store at 1940hr and asked the closing time. I was told 2000hr (8pm- to be exact in the young man's own words). I arrived at the store at 1951hr and the door was locked. I knocked on the door, pointed to my watch and the told them that it was not yet 8pm. The thin, brownish blonde haired young man mouthed to me that he had closed his register. This fact still had nothing to do with the fact that he had closed before the advertised closing time. The young heavy set lady with dark hair in a pony tail was mopping the floor and kept looking back at the young man who wore a part in the middle of his scalp reminiscent of the cartoon character, Dagwood on the comic strip "Blondie" in Sunday paper here in La. I guess the young man was in charge. The young lady began snickering and looking back at the guy sheepishly. I received several messages from the two of them that night: "my business isn't valued and I don't care about you-I'm closing early, and the message "we don't need your business" and more than that, " I will close this franchise when i get ready"-forget the client or the business managers time of closure. All of these messages hit home to me how young people do not value the work ethics of which our forefathers help create and enforce to us. I've been a long time customer of Smoothie King but tonight makes me think twice about that relationship. I am very disturbed about this lack of concern for the patron. Thank you and I hope that these two young people learn the value of a successful, long term business alliance with the customer.

I reported it to corporate and I figured this is a good place as well so everyone can see it as well as the rest of smoothie king staff etc. Today I resigned from Smoothie king on 314 Fayetteville, GA 30214. I worked for Winchel Elbert for two months and it was the worst experience I ever had at a job, me nor the other employees were allowed breaks or lunch. We only were allowed to work straight through our set hours. He had no patience in training new employees and was very rude and unforgiving when it came to making mistakes. Very often did he care about the customers or the employees, to him it was all about money. The way he pressured us and treated us to get sales in retail was absolutely appalling. I went to the Smoothie conference this year at New Orleans and met some very nice people and I was really excited about working for the company but he has made me not only lose that experience I was hoping for but he has changed my whole view of the company in general. When I resigned today he refused to give me my check unless I gave him the smoothie king shirt given to me my first day of work. No where in the manual or in the policy period does it state he can do this, not to mention the fact that the shirt he wants back is one of many unsanitary recycled shirts he got from old employees that were not even washed or cleaned. These shirts have been passed around and back again more than a Freddy krueger film. Hes withheld checks from previous employees over the same thing in the past. No other company does this or allows this type of behavior in their stores. Afterwards he proceeded to physically attack me and attempt to pick a fight with me, not clear if its because I resigned and he was mad or he was just having a bad day but I for one was not please. I personally as martial artist and fighter of over seven plus years could and reacted and lashed back but I did not for I was raised to know just because you can do something, dose not mean you should. Do not get me wrong, I'm not posting this to be an angry employee who hates his boss, I was raised to see the good in people even if they dont deserve it and I gave him the benefit of the doubt several times but this crosses the line and I am reporting this to you as of now in hopes you can find better management and ownership of the store in the future. I will be posting this on every smooothie king forum and site until I am heard and something is done about this. I will tell would be customers not to shop there and I will be pressing charges. Hello my name is TresiagayeTabitha today 6/21/2014 we ordered 2 mango pineapple smoothies from store location 16327 sw 88th street Miami Florida while drinking our smoothie we found plastic in our drinks not only did we swallow some of the plastic by accident. We when to return the smoothies when we arrived the store was already close we have pictures and the smoothies still.
I ordered a pineapple surf at Smoothie King's ne location at Hemphill and Lancaster in Fort Worth and after consuming it I became violently ill.
Corporate approved me for a refund on a product that the store manager would only give store credit for and wasn't willing to work with me, hence the call to corporate office. They are now denying me since I was given a day to trade my product out by, and didn't get the refund approval until the next day. This is a letter sent to the regional manager who will not refund my money now. Please advise. Mr Trey, I purchased a tub of Lean one from your Walker location on Jan 18. Something with this mix made me sick. I called and spoke to the manager Joe, explained the situation, and was told that the only thing he could do for me was offer a store credit, no other option. At this point I called corporate office. I explained the same thing to them. They told me they would get back with me. I didn't hear anything, so I headed up to walker Smoothie King to swap out the container, since that was my only option. At this point, I had no option. No one gave me any hope other than come in this day to get it traded out. So I did. I didn't want to get vanilla again with the same label for fear that I would get sick again. I was assured that the cookies and cream was more vanilla with a little chocolate in it. I traded for that. I tried it and the taste was bad. Before I bought, I even asked if I could sample it in the store. They didn't give samples. Kind of bad for a $50 product. So I immediately traded it back for a vanilla, which was my only option at this point. This all happened Wednesday evening since I was told to come in that day. On Thursday am, I received a voice message from Joe, starting corporate, who never contacted me back but him directly, approved the refund. I wasn't expecting this since Joe gave me no sign of hope. I am reaching out to you now to honor the refund since I was only told that I could trade it, and he wasn't willing to work with me on this until I took it to a corporate level. I wasn't expecting a call back from him approving my refund the next day, or I wouldn't have went in that night. Understand that I did trade twice, once for fear of getting sick with vanilla again, and once because I may as well throw $50 out the window as to not drink something that taste nasty that your store doesn't offer a sample of. So that was traded out since I felt trapped and stuck as a client. This is horrible customer service and Joe should have worked with me better on the front end. Please honor this refund. A copy of this letter will go out to the corporate office as well. Thank you for your time, Becky
NIce little trick you do there with your phone system..."choose 0 to leave a message", and when you choose 0 it says, "I do not recognize that request"...I guess I will try calling again at a later time to get an actual human and not a machine!
I go to the smoothie kings in Charlottesville, VA and almost everytime I go, the same smoothie is always a different price! Every time, I pay from 5 dollars, to 6.09, 6.04, 5.33, 7.09. How the hell much is the pumpkin smoothie, small, Greek yogurt and sub soy protein for Whey protein. NO Additions. This place is messed up, both locations.
I have to tell everyone, that Smoothie King did help me by listening and then offering me a gift card. Thanks for helping me. It looks like a Pumpkin Smoothie is 5.33, but I did have to figure that out with the sales girls.
I want to start off by saying, I absolutely love what Smoothie King stands for. Unfortunately, every once in a while a person is hired on that absolutely gives Smoothie King a bad name. After stepping foot into Smoothie King #10 in Metairie Louisiana, I realized something must have gone wrong with the hiring process. This store has an employee named Terrance B. who is obviously miserable with his job. Terrance had a poor miserable attitude with every single customer that walked through the door. Not only did we suffer from his negativity while waiting, we also had to look at his underwear since his pants were hanging all the way to the floor. I surely hope someone from corporate reads about this problem. I realize you guys take pride in what you stand for and surly can't have a poor attitude employee affecting the integrity of this Empire
I want to say, I love Smoothie King products, the selection is great, but walking in Des Peres (St. Louis, MO) store on this past Tuesday afternoon and hearing, hopefully not the manager, Erica, yelling it seems with someone at another store about customer care. Hummm, It took her a minute to recognize the other customer before me and then continued to yell at the person on the phone. Maybe she should lead by example because her actions toward her employees doesn't give them positive morals to give to customers. Geesh!!!!
Good Afternoon,I returned from one of your locations in the Cinnaminson area. I went there with three other coworkers after receiving a 4.99 coupon for a 32oz smoothie. upon making my order we were greeted by a very unfriendly associate from your establishment. I was unsure of the name of my drink so i mentioned the mango and pineapple smoothie. Your representative was in no way helpful or respectful. In addition upon meeting us at the window, she didn't tell me my total amount, took my card and did not provide me a receipt or said thank you and goodbye. In the end instead of getting business from four people you only received one and that's because i didn't want my coupon to go to waste. When i arrived back to my place of employment and had my first sip. I realized it was not the drink I ordered. I'm very disappointed in my order and even more with Smoothie King's customer service. I have never had an issue until today. My colleague even said that if she loses her attitude she might even get a better tip. You may want to relay that message back to your team.

I want to report a problem with the manager of the Smoothie King on Wax Rd in Baton Rouge, LA. This manager thinks she can bring a screaming 2-3 year old grand baby to the store while she's on the clock and has the nerve to tell a potential employee that they can't be hired because they aren't college age and it would only make them suffer in money. I tried calling corporate but the operator number is glitched and refuses to let me say anything to anyone.May we please look into this?
I began working at the Smoothie King in Lake Charles, LA a few months ago. At first I was trained by Mrs. Charlene who was awesome, but then she moved to the Sulpur, LA Location. From there the "Management" was Ms. Cherrish who was the most unprofessional person I have ever worked with. She openly belittles employees in front of customers and is just down right rude. I called in one afternoon to say that I would not be able to make it in to work and she told me that she should fire me for calling in. I called the following week for my work schedule and she told me that by me not working on the day that I called in she took it to mean that I quit. There were back and forth comments about me not quitting and her saying she should fire me. It comes down to her firing me but putting it as I quit. No big deal, I called her Petty and told her to have a good day. This morning I showed up to collect my last pay check and turn in the key. Ms. Cherrish called me into her office, I put the key on her desk and picked up my check which she quickly snatched out of my hand. She came up to me and put her finger in my face and said that if I ever call her petty again that we would have a problem. Is this common practice for management at Smoothie King?? By far the worst manager I have come across. It's a shame that she is allowed to continue this behavior. Smoothie King is loosing a lot of good employees due to this.
I'm writing this a former employee of the Smoothie King at 2484 Briarcliff RD in Atlanta, GA. I, as well as another employee, officially left on April 6th because of the uncomfortable and unfair work environment we were in. The manager, Carla Desermot, was rarely at the store and when she was, it was for less than a part time shift. I started working at smoothie king on March 9, 2016 and was told that I was officially out of training when I returned on March 10th. After my first week, I was given a store key and my pin was put into the security system so that I could close the store without having the manager present. So, I was still adjusting to how things operated when I was put in charge of closing the store with another new employee by ourselves. The only employee there that has worked longer than 2 months was a tyrant and a bully. Her name is Shay and Carla placed her in the role of store manager or shift supervisor verbally. She was still working the same hours and doing the same work as the rest of us, but apparently she was in charge. She took advantage of that power when Carla went on vacation (only 3 weeks after I had started with another new employee, and the other two employees worked for about a week longer than myself.) So she left the country with 4 new associates running her restaurant, led by one power hungry, unprofessional employee. Several people told Carla about the lack of professionalism Shay displayed, and she never addressed it. The turnover rate at this location is crazy, as 4 people came in during the 4 weeks I worked there and told me why they quit just weeks before. Now that I'm free from the situation, I'm still dealing with the lack of professionalism from Carla herself. My check from the 2nd to last pay period (April 8th) was a week late because Carla failed to input the direct deposit information, meaning my check was to be mailed to me. The mailing address of the check is Carla's apartment building, about 30 minutes away from me, and yet I didn't receive the check until April 15th. Now I'm waiting for my last check, which I should've gotten on April 22. I'm assuming it'll be here a week late, again,which completely throws off the payment schedules I've made for my own personal bills. Carla is very inconsiderate and has avoided all calls and texts that I've sent her. She also gave out hand-written personal checks to the employees for the April 8th pay period while I was waiting for my check in the mail. I'm usually a passive person, however, Carla Desermot is not fit to run a business. She cuts too many corners and steps on too many toes.
A few of us from work order from the Columbus, OH (Polaris) location two or three times a week. The service here is usually pretty fast and friendly. However, some of us have received less than friendly service from Lucas S. This particular time I had an order of six smoothies I asked that he write the type of smoothies on the lid as they usually do with large orders. When he handed me my order three of the cups were missing the labels, one I could figure out because it was darker than the others. I politely asked Lucas S. if he knew what the other two smoothies were so that I could label them. He took the cup but labeled it with the wrong name. I mentioned that I already had that particular smoothie and it had to be either the Angel Food or Mangosteen Madness. This time he literally snatched the cup from my hand labeled it (again with the wrong name) mumbled the word B**** slammed and locked the window. Needless to say, I was very upset and I will not be returning to the particular location ever again they just lost six customers due to his rudeness.
My workplace won 18 free smoothies for the Fort Wayne, IN location and called to ask how this worked. We were told that we just had to come in and pick up the smoothies. We asked if we had to get the smoothies all at once or could we go over several weeks as our office only has 3 people that work in it. Over 2 weeks we went in 3 times and received our smoothies each time with increasing rudeness. We offered to pay for one of the smoothies each visit. We became addicted. The product was wonderful. The Man that worked there was not. I went onto to tell others how great the product was and know many people have stopped by and also enjoyed the product. But as stated before the man (who come to find out is also the owner) is very rude. So today we went in to buy some smoothies although we still have multiple free smoothies available. we had looked at the menu and were interested in some of the add ins. After waiting over 20 minutes the owner became hostile and would not serve us. stating we were not getting anything else free. we stated our plan was to buy smoothies on this date but due to his continued rudeness that would not be happening. I plan to make sure everyone I know is aware of this encounter and never goes back to smoothie king. This man is hostile and rude and is a shame to your brand. If they can not manage a free giveaway they should not have the giveaway. they do not honor what they gave as a prize and the person is very rude. [email protected]
I went to Smoothie King #1080 here in Baton Rouge. I found plastic white pieces mixed in to my smoothie. When I called to let them know, they offered me another one. I refused because I figured the same thing would happen. They didn't want to give a refund.
My 18 year old niece went to work at a Smoothie King in Richardson, TX. The boss and my niece became very good friends to the point of her boss saying she will lend my niece her car and send her to become a manager. In the meantime, she was learning all she could about making smoothies. Then I noticed her being called back to the store at non-working hours to help with other things that were responsibilities of the owner. So, because of being lured in as a friend, my niece was working extra hours and not getting paid. My niece wanted to help to learn what she could but she wanted to be paid for her time. Then, the tides changed when she stood up to her, and her boss started to bully her. I stayed back to allow my niece a chance to work it our herself. But in the end she was fired! Why?! Good question! At the present, this woman is now luring another young worker into doing the little things that the owner should be doing. He is being called into work to at off times. Perhaps he will be next to be fired when he starts to stand up to her and ask her to pay him for the time he is there. I am very upset. I went to the store to tell her not to speak, write, or say a word about my niece and that she will need to go through me from now on. I told the workers to let her know. Now I'm told she filed a police report on me. WEll, I'M GLAD MY NIECE DOES NOT WORK WITH SUCH AN EVIL PERSON ANYMORE! I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT FRANCHISE TO ANYONE ESPECIALLY TO ALL THE YOUNG WORKERS WHO ARE JUST LEARNING ABOUT THE WORKING WORLD!
I am a former employee of a Smoothie King, it was one of my favorite jobs with the regular customer base that came in to see me and enjoy the service I provided them. All was well except for the owner. Smoothie King #404 in Frisco Texas off of Preston and Gaylord is one of the most poorly run companies that I have ever worked for in my life. The owner is money hungry, he wonders why he can not meet certain sales criteria and customer satisfaction rates, the reason is he treats his employees with disrespect, he is not attentive to his customers, he does not appreciate his business, customers, or staff. He tries to us his charm or if not that he will play like he had no idea of issues, but the as a matter of fact he does. I've witness him tell myself and other employees the customer can wait I have to speak to you of something that is important. He would constantly tell us the customer lies when they say the smoothie did not taste right, always thinking someone was out to get him. He claims he is a man of God, which he may go to church he may think in his twisted mind that he is, but his actions beg to differ. There have been countless times where he would tell his staff well I did not think that person was fit for the job, because he/she was "black." He always wants us to call him if there are any issues at the store, when we do and tell him there is a customer complaining about something how would you like us to handle it, his first response would be "Are they black," and about 90% of the time that answer would be No. He always accuses his employees of stealing, overusing ingredients and before he investigates he just assumes that it was whoever is in the store even though multiple times he has his family and friends come in and makes them smoothies free of charge which takes up ingredients other inventory such as cups and he never takes things like that into consideration. He does not properly train his employees when I worked there he had someone who was only there for a week train me (they still do not know how to do most things) Most employees I worked with were great at their job and anytime we were unsure of how to do something and we had to think on our feet to satisfy a customer if we did not do it like the owner wanted it we would get yelled at. We can't know what to do if he is not answering our calls while a customer waits and we can not just sit there a do nothing. He does not allow discounts or he tries to not allow them but corporate enforces their Smoothie King given coupons. He also told us to do things his way one day and the next he would change it to another way confusing not only myself as a staff member but also the customers,because we would have to abide by the new rules and then they would change the next day and vice versa which would annoy the customer, who would then take out their frustration on us staff members while the owner just sat around at his house not having a care in the world that he puts his staff members under so much ridicule and making us look bad like we have no earthly idea what we are doing. Also during corporate visits he would tell us staff members how much he hates them, because they (corporate) wants to change everything or they think they know how to help the business, well that is because they have experts do analysis to configure how to assist you in running your business and you can not take constructive criticism. He can dish it out, but he can not take it...will continue below could publish all at once to much for maximum characters...
....(Continued from above) I understand much of this is negative, but I am only doing this to help the business this needs to stop. Owners who do not care about their customers and do not appreciate their employees for how hard they work for them. We kill ourselves trying to make it easy on the owner, and in return we get bashed for using to many ingredients when we do not overuse product, we have to handle disputes against customers that he makes and that he can not do himself. He is a cocky arrogant person that feels untouchable and frankly he has every right to feel this way, because you as corporate have done nothing to this man although time and time again he does things that are bad to tarnish your brand and he has also had multiple accusations of inappropriate things he has said or done to a female worker of age and under and no one seems to care. I personally do not have to deal with anymore and I am thankful for that, but I am on here speaking of my experience to make sure this does not continue to happen to others who do not deserve to be treated this way. I do not know how you as a business allow people like this man Gilberto Ramos own a business. I use to think Smoothie King was a prestigious business and that there customer service was fantastic and it was with myself and other employees that worked there, but with an owner like this it makes things difficult. I think you should reevaluate how you pick an owner to be able to represent your brand, because all this man does is tarnish your brand and make customers not want to go into a store like this ever again. I hope this is an awakening for you as a franchise and for this rude man and I hope that something is done to put him in place and make his employees not feel like they are walking on egg shells everyday at work, because that is exactly how I felt under his authority. If someone from corporate would like to respond to this that would be great so I know something is going to be done or that someone will speak to higher authority and if its left without a response then I'll know that this man is still getting away with being such a disrespectful owner to his staff and customers, that you apparently care about.
