  1. Norton has the worst customer support that I have ever seen. What happened at one time they were the best. Been on the phone 5 hours in the last couple of days and have only spoken to a live person for less than 30 minutes. Norton is definetly off my list of suppliers.

    1. I could not agree more.
Norton customer support consists in blaming: The browser, the computer or Microsoft. If neither are accepted, they just hang up on you from India or wherever. [4 times]
I am getting rid of that useless NIS and find a more user friendly Internet Security.
P.S. Kaspersky = Ditto for tech support.
It seems that IS companies are only interested in selling their product period. Do not ask questions, do not expect any tech support of any kind.
What is almost funny is that this mentality transpires up to corporate & governmental levels. We are all thrown in the same soup. NO SECURITY to speak of.
Why on earth can we not have competent US tech support people???
I am willing to pay for it is I could get it.

  2. I will NEVER buy Norton again! I called their support to transfer my anti virus from my old computer to my new one, they said my new computer was not 'healthy' to download the software and needed to be fixed for $300 first. I declined and they bluntly and rudyly said if I hang up and call back the price will go up!!! Plus do they have ANY call centers in the US, where you can understand them?!

  3. I have used Norton Anti virus for years. Recently have been having problems with my computer and had another company look at it since I could not reach Norton service . The other company found over 200 viruses some of which have been on the compurer for some time. They cleared them out and now the computer works fine. What was I paying Norton for?

    1. I agree with you. Wanted to take it off my computer and could not uninstall. Called support and they wanted to charge me $199 to help. I'm spreading the word as much as I can about their lousy service. I'm also complaining to the BBB and States attorney.

  7. My question: Norton, do you see all of these complaints? Mine are quite similar to those already listed. Dou you care about the reputation of your product?

  9. I just spent over an hour trying to get help for what I figured was a drop of support for the XP platform. It is a non connection with that system though they claim it is supported. I lost days trying to switch to 2015 security from 360 and cannot connect to establish service. The last thing I was told online was to press the Start key with the R key...can someone tell me where the Start Key is? Maybe you guys will buy me Mcafee so we can be even!

  10. WE TOO WILL NEVER BUY NORTON AGAIN ALTHO WE WERE SATISFIED UNTIL LAST FALL WHEN IT WAS TIME TO RENEW.....ALL WE WANTED TO DO WAS DOWNLOAD NORTON PER THEIR REMINDER.....WHAT WE GOT WAS A TECH WITH WHICH IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO COMMUNICATE WITH TELLING US THAT WE COULD NOT DOWNLOAD THE NORTON ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM UNTIL OUR COMPUTER WAS CLEANED OF JUNK AT A COST OF $300.....MY HUSBAND INFORMED HIM THAT WE HAVE A VERIZON TECH SUPPORT PROGRAM WITH WHICH WE ARE SATISFIED. HE KEPT INSISTING AND AT THAT POINT THE COST WAS DOWN TO $179 WHICH UNFORTUNATELY AFTER BEING BROWBEAT FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, WE AGREED TO. WHAT KIND OF COMPANY ALLOWS THIS TO GO ON AND KEEP THEIR GOOD NAME. WE WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS W/SYMANTEC EVER AGAIN! GET ME ONCE; SHAME ON YOU; GET ME TWICE SHAME ON ME.

  11. I used to have McAfee on our computers. We went to Norton about 3 years ago, and were having great success with the program. We still are. The program is working great, BUT........ Here is the problem. On March 7, 2015 I purchased my renewal for our computers, for the last 1 1/2 MONTHS I have been getting renewal notices. After the first notice I went into my Norton Account and disabled the auto renewal program. They wanted to charge me more than double of what I had paid in March. Norton renewal is telling me that my subscription will end in July. Amazing that Norton considers March to July a full year. I call 2 different support numbers to resolve this problem. The first guy I talked to at Norton Support (844-798-4384) wanted access to my computer by remote, I gave it to him and I had a program downloaded to my computer (Norton support had to have been the one to download it because it wasn't on my computer until he had the remote access) that Norton security blocked as an unsecure site and security risk. He then told me that I had a virus on my computer that was not letting Norton work and that was affecting my firewall and for a FEE he could fix my computer. ALL I CALLED ABOUT WAS BEING DOUBLE BILLED FOR A PRODUCT THAT I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR, but all of a sudden there was a virus on my computer. Oh, by the way, my COMPUTER WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL HE DOWNLOADED THE VIRUS SO HE COULD FIX MY COMPUTER-------FOR A FEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I talked to the second guy at Norton Support (877-991-7694), He wanted remote access to my computer also. I told him NO, there was nothing wrong with my computer all I wanted was to quit getting harassed about my new subscription having to be renewed before it was even 5 months old. He needed to see for himself that I had actually paid for the subscription in March, 2015. I told him that if this didn't get fixed, I would call the Better Business Bureau and The Attorney Generals Office and lodge official complaints against the company and that I would also go onto the internet and post what the Norton Company was doing. So then he said that he would have someone from the billing department call me back either today or tomorrow. HOW CAN THEY CALL ME BACK WHEN HE DIDN'T TAKE MY PHONE NUMBER???????????? Norton's customer service sucks big time. How about some English speaking people that understand what American's are talking about???????????????????????????????? Also, quit trying to cheat people. We are not as stupid as you think we are. Quit asking for access to computers so that you can screw them up and then FIX THEM FOR A FEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess what my next security program is going to be?? Have you guessed that IT WON'T BE NORTON!!!!!

    1. I hate to break it to you but you're barking up the wrong tree. You called a scam number (844-798-4384) that will identify themselves as any number of different companies support. I recently had a client looking for Microsoft support that came up with this number, asking to remote into his computer for something that did not require remote access. They told him his whole company network was not secured and some other BS but offered to fix it for several hundred dollars.

Don't go around ripping on Norton because you called the wrong number at got bad support from someone that is pretending to be them.

  12. Already had Norton 360 in my computer, went on line to renew, made the purchase instead of getting the key code get an e-mail telling me there was a problem, to contact customer service, called the number, no idea what part of the world call went but first language was not english . Told me that I could not install Norton because there were too many problems with my computer, that he would transfer me to a tech that would fix the problems. Ok, we know where this is headed, two questions without checking my computer how did he know we could not download the product, already had an up to date Norton 360 installed. Been using Norton for years, guess what I won't be using anymore.

  13. Norton should be embarrassed for their so-called support, no United States phone support, only foreign contact support! Never Norton again! I will do my part on making America Great Again by not purchasing Norton!!

  14. What has happened to Norton? Once upon a time I would have told anyone to go with Norton for support and protection but now, I am sorry to say I can no longer say that. Recently I have had major problems with my computer and tried to rely on Norton for help but unfortunately that didn't happen. My problems started about a month ago and I called Norton for help as I always do/did. I did not get any help at that time so I relied on friends to help me which helped somewhat but not completely then later I called Norton again and this time I did get some help however, the help I received did not complete the job so again, later I had to call again. To make a long story as short as possible, I had to contact someone else and they discovered what the underlying problem was. I then called Norton again to ask a few simple questions and got the run-a-round and received no answers whatsoever to my questions in which I ask the tech help several times. The next day I called again and when I got someone on the line I ask to speak to a supervisor thinking maybe I could get some answers from them and again, I did not get to speak to a supervisor but a run-around again. Where is the help when you need it? I still don't have my answers and don't guess I ever will because frankly speaking I am tired of trying to get a few simple questions answered and a run-around from Norton through chat and by telephone and although I still have over 350 days left of my so-called protection, I am going to do as you have done to me which is nothing but fine someone who will appreciate my business. It has been an experience and quiet a ride....

  15. there are so many scams going on where they send you a message that you have a virus and you will lose all your dat.... call this number etc.
Some simple people call and get stuck in that scam, allow the guy to log in to yopu computer and then leave virus there if you dont pay. Beware.
Sometimes they pretend to be from microsoft.
