  1. The recall for heaters/cooling fans is being handled very poorly, no consideration for people who are using them for there primary heat, there is no provision to provide a back up heater for the people in the north, where they are needed, NO ONE IS HEARING THE PROBLEM!!!!!!

  2. I agree with Mr. Zilroy. I sent back my NEW unit that was working properly. I sent the unit back in the original box including the control remote. I received the unit back yesterday, is not working properly and came without the original box and without the control remote. I'm writing a formal letter to corporate office and cc to consumers affairs and I will write my dissatisfaction cyber. This is a very expensive unite and I really need it.

    1. I too am very disapointed in Dyson on this recall. Sent mine in back in April after being notifed by three different companies of the recall, Dyson being one of them. As of today still has not been returned and after calling once 2 weeks ago they had no record of the item until I gave them shipping numbers and delivery date. they stated 7 to 10 days. Called again today 22 May and again they had no idea where it was.
After talking to several different departments they told us repairs are taking longer than expected as so many units were returned. Just send me a new replacment already, Calling corporate and notifying BBB and consumer affairs as well.

    2. Dyson has been a colossal disappointment. Sent product back immediately & for 2 months have tried to get an update from company on status of return. Promised return phone calls 3 times which I never rec'd. Their corporate # does not connect, their 800 # if answered is by one incompetent, ineffective person after the other. Replace w/new heaters should have been the decision if company overwhelmed with returns. SHAME ON DYSON FOR ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN. THE INVENTOR'S CRITIQUE OTHER PRODUCTS COMPARED TO HIS DYSONS ARE NOW MEANINGLESS. In the future no matter how fine the product, Dyson will NEVER lure me back as a consumer. NEVER.

  3. They received my heater fan on May 20 - it is now July 14 and I still have not received it back. They emailed me a few weeks ago that they would send me email updates of all major steps along the way. I responded that I have not received any emails from them on any steps, major or minor. I am now very worried that I will never see it again. I used to think Dyson was the best of the best. This situation is terrible. They have hit rock bottom.

  4. I did not sent any recalled product back to Dyson but my 6 months old vacuum cleaner has a problem. All of the sadden the ball/wheel felt apart. There was no hitting, falling, or any reason for that to happen. I called the USA corporate office and explained what happened. They told me that "if you don't clean the filter the wheel will fall". This is an insult to my intelligence. I called the same Chicago headquarters an actual member of the leadership team (this is what she said she was) and what she told me is that she did not sale me the vacuum cleaner and she can't help me. I thought this was a joke. So I called the base office in Malmesbury, United Kingdom this morning. They also cannot help you. After all that strange behavior I decided not to keep a Dyson product in my house anymore. I will return this piece of junk to Best Buy and they can do what they want with the unite. Also I will contact the authorities in the USA to report those misleading business around here.

  5. Let me start buy saying this was the worst purchase I have ever made. And the worst vacuum I have ever purchased.

I have been a life long Electrolux vacuum owner. I went into our hometown appliance store to purchase a Dyson having heard and seen so much positive talk about them. Not carrying Dyson they talked me into a Miele vacuum which was OK but my mistake was getting a canister when I really wanted an upright vacuum. We had the Miele for years and needed to replace the vacuum and still hearing so many good things about Dyson I talked my husband into the high end purchase of a Dyson when Sears had a Thanksgiving special on them.

Well, as my first sentence says, it was the worst vacuum purchase I have ever made in our 36 years of marriage. I don't know what kind of a bowing ball they use in the commercial but my Dyson won't even pick up fluff from the dogs stuffed toys. I literally have to place the head of the vacuum over a leaf in order for it to be sucked up whether the leaf is on a tile floor or a carpet.

Now I have the dilemma of the vacuum not being able to be pushed down and turn on. Added to that, my appliance store STILL does not service Dysons {hmmm....makes you wonder why they won't} and when I went on your home site they list Tampa Florida as a service place. I live in South Florida and Tampa is about a 3 - 4 hour drive.

Where does one go to fix this vacuum if you live in Coral Springs Florida?

  7. I gave my wife a DC40 for Christmas. It stopped picking up after a couple of months.I sent it off per Dyson's repair policy on March 2. to the Schaumburg, Il. service center. It will be day 10 tomorrow, and they have not even looked at it. I am disturbed that Dyson customer service gives a 7 to 10 day turn-around time, and then cannot even meet that commitment. They should be sending out new machines when they get the old ones back and then refurb. them. That is called excellent customer service, which they apparently are not acquainted with. I have a coffee maker that if it broke today, all I would have to do is call them, and they would send me a replacement immediately, yet they seem to still be making money, if Dyson is using that as a reason not to do so. I would have paid to get the thing repaired locally if I had known it was going to be close to a month before I would get it back. I will NEVER buy a Dyson product again, and I will let everyone I know about their crappy vacuums, and the equally bad customer service.

    1. Totally Agree with you! We have owned 4 Dyson vacs until we bought this defective "Big Ball". It has been shipped back to Kirkland twice, once for repairs, and now for a replacement unit. The replacement unit has not been sent as promised by Dyson. Lies, "mis-speak" and a very expensive vac that has never worked right. Dyson advertises "integrity", however their lack thereof is very apparent when it comes to fulfilling their promises. DO NOT buy a Dyson "Big Ball" is my strongest recommendation.

  13. I AM A DYSON REPAIR CENTER AND THEY WONT EVEN TALK TO US ON THE PHONE OR PAY THE WARRANTIES. IT HAS BEEN MONTHS SINCE W RECEIVED ANY PAYMENTS FROM THEM AND LAST TIME WE DID IT WAS AFTER MANY DAYS AND HOURS ON THE PHONE AND EMAILS. THEY ARE BY FAR THE WORSE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH AND THE VACUUMS ARE TERRIBLE.

  14. So angry! They are trying to tell me I bought this hand held 10 years ago!!! They will not help me fix my hand held nor honor any warranty. The CR was short and disinterested. Manager repeated same thing. I am so angry with this. I spent a lot of money on this hand held. It is not working. It keeps shutting off on my. Cleaned emptied and fully charged!

  16. Put on hold asked to speak to their leadership team, spoke to, Crytal Rivera after have been on hold for 20 minutes! I can play the waiting game too! Dyson advertises a vacumn geared towards pet owners but yet they do NOT support any request by animal shelters for raffle items. I have had a Dyson since they first came out and recommend them to anyone that adopts from my shelter. Guess what Dyson you are loosing about 2000 recommendations per year. Crystal validated that Dyson will not donate anything to animal charities. I am completley disgusted.

  17. Just called into the local Dyson service centre in Melbourne Victoria with one of my Dyson vacuum cleaners as it is working intermediately when pressing the trigger.
The dyson is a hand held model.
They told me it was obsolete and they were not able to have it looked at for repair and tried selling me a new one at a supposedly great price. (When I checked it was at a higher price than a retailer)
Mr Dyson if you’re going to make throw away products then start charging throw away prices.
Very poor service and very poor product.

  18. I reported my Dyson big ball animal and allergy a few weeks ago to customer service for injuring my child! After vacuuming I turned off the vacuum and continued with my daily chores. I heard a scream coming from the next room and walked in to find my 5 year old daughter hysterically crying as she was holding her leg. She pointed to the vacuum and said it burned her. I went to touch the big ball of the vacuum and it was scorching hot! It felt as hot as a heating radiator! My daughter calmed down after a while and after applying ice to her leg, she was ok. I do have kids over my house all the time.... had it been a toddler,I worry the injury would have been more serious! I immediately called dyson to report the incident. I was told by Early (supervisor) to have the vacuum shipped to the service department to the get inspected. I agreed to ship the vacuum for inspection with regards to making sure this does not happen to any other family with small children or pets and made it clear that I absolutely did not want this model back in my home even if it were to be repaired! After two weeks and numerous calls and emails to dyson I was told that the inspection concluded "moisture in the
Vacuum" and that Dyson is not responsible for water damage. I don't acknowledge ever having any liquid around or near my vacuum. My vacuum is a little over a year old. I can't believe that dyson will not exchange or refund me for this incident! Safety is my main concern and that is the reason why I do not want to have this specific vacuum back in my home. I'm also surprised that there are no safety features regarding over heating. Clearly it's a malfunction of the vacuum if a little moisture can cause this vacuum to over heat to this extent! I have been a loyal customer of dyson for over ten years and own two other dyson vacuums. its hard to believe that dyson would even allow me to have this vacuum returned to my home after injuring my child!
