  1. I CALLED AVIS CORPORATE OFFICES AND WAS PUT ON HOLD FOR OVER 5 MINUTES. I HELD THEN THE PHONE WENT DEAD. AVIS HAS LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF DOESN'T WANT TO LISTEN TO CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS, THEY PUT CUSTOMERS ON HOLD AND PLAY THE WAITING GAME. AVIS HAS LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF. DOES ANYONE IN CORPORATE CARE HOW CUSTOMERS ARE BEING TREATED. OBVIOUSLY NOT!

    1. The same thing happened to me. I was charged fees that are bogus and this was long after I returned my rental vehicle! I hope that AVIS goes belly up! When is someone in AVIS Corporate going to check into all the websites who publish complaints from AVIS customers who have been ripped off? Is anyone with AVIS Corporate staff even keeping tabs on the numerous customer complaints against AVIS Rent A Car?

    2. ME TOO!!! THIS IS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! WE HAVE TO REPORT THIS, WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS WE ARE NOT WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY, THEY WORK FOR US WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS! WE HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO CONTACT THE PRESIDENT OF AVIS.

  2. I left enterprise car rental in hopes of better service! As we speak I have been on the line since 9:05 am it is now 11:13 am. I had a question regarding the wizard account and I was given 16 NUMBERS AND ALL LED BACK TO THIS SAD SOUNDING PERSON ON THE RECORDING. AVIS PLEASE GET ON IT!!! THIS IS HORRIBLE, I CANNOT CALL CORPOORATE, NO SERVICE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!! WHY BE IN BUSINESS IF YOU CANNOT HAVE GOOD WORKING NUMBERS IN WHICH THE CUSTOMERS CAN BE SERVICED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. AVIS SENT ME A BILL 6 MONTHS AFTER RETURNING THE CAR, AND SAID THE FRONT WINDSHIELD HAD A LARGE CRACK IN IT!! THE SALESMAN EVEN CAME OUT AND LOOKED AT THE CAR AND SAID EVERYTHING IS GOOD. THERE WAS NO CRACKED WINDSHIELD! THEY SCAMMED ME OUT OF $200.00 !!!!!

  5. Our trip was cancelled, so we returned our rental the next day. I prepaid everything to my credit card and it has been a nightmare trying to get our refund! I have called Avis several times and just get the "run around". I am at my wits end and don't know who else to contact.

I prepaid on line for a care on 04/30/2016, when I got there they would not rent me the car but kept$100 and would not refund my money, I am calling my bank today because the manager cancelled my car and would not help me, they are rip off people because back in the day I always rented from them now they just take people money. AVIS IS THIS THE BEST YOU CAN DO TO YOUR CUSTOMERS, WONT LET THEM RENT THE CAR THEY PAID FOR THEN KEEP THERE MONEY......YOU GUYS ARE A JOKE!!!!!!

  7. Hello Yelpers! I read the original reviews on yelp and knew they were bad, but I thought to myself maybe things have changed. I will give them a try. Well I rented a car for one-day and everything went smoothly until this hard to understand man said my card was declined. Which was a complete lie. I called my bank in front on him & the bank notified eh Avjs guy that he already charged me twice for the car rental.the Avis guy insisted I pay him in cash. I said I already paid him. I left & he kept my card & he charged my card. 3rd time while I wasn't there. That is illegally! I ended up paying for a car three times what I should have $160.00 for a one day car rental of what was suppose to be $53.00. I took this to my bank to dispute, but I'm also contacting consumer affairs, better business bureau and all local online blogs/ review such as yelp so that non one has to go through what I went through. I'm having a police report written up and I contacted my bank, but I don't need this stress. STAY AWAY! THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR CARD ILLEGALLY!

  8. I rented a car for 5 days through Hotwire to drive from Shreveport to Slidell.I went with Hotwire because I can cancel at any time and felt like I would have a third party protection.

    I used the car for two days and ended up having to fly home due to severe weather instead of driving home to get home quickly. I had the car from Thursday at 7 am until Friday at 6 pm (23 hours) and was charged $531 dollars; around $411 over charged. Avis said I couldn't cancel and charged me for the full time yet I booked through Hotwire that said I could cancel.

    I am disputing the charge.This is horrible business and I am taking it steps forward. I have yet to hear from corporate office or the Shreveport office.
