  5. This is the worst place to come and have anything done to your car or truck. they never rotate your tires when you pay for them to I will never come back to ntb again.

  6. I had tire rotation at the Marshallton DE location on 8/29/13. The following day I heard noises while driving the vehicle. Another mechanic showed me that every lug on each wheel was loose--some loose enough to remove by hand.
The manager's excuse was that they had substitute staff that day. Patronize NTB at your own risk!

    1. Just had the same bad experience with these people like you did. They damage my wife's car security lug nuts and I can remove the rest by hand. Now the rear right tire nuts won't come out and they refuse to remove them using the excuse that my tire is damaged. I just wanted the lock nuts removed and take all responsibility for the tire but they know that if they try to remove the lock nuts they will break and they don't want to take that responsibility. NEVER AGAIN NTB :P

  7. NTB in Kansas City is the worst place that I have ever done business! They lie and put equipment in your car without asking; and defective equipment as well! Don't waste your time with these guys.

  8. NTB in Nashville TN is a joke. They tried to repair my VW bug and after weeks of back and forth, the repair at the VW dealership came to a whopping 3300.00. The tech there had me come back and take pictures the repair was so bad, it should have cost 50.00 and was a simple job. NTB denied my claim saying it was normal wear and tear. Do not ever ever go there!!!

  9. Yo they must be going out of business in # ntb beltsville M.D. the service maneger charged $187 extra. After I paid 889.00 for tires and alignment. Keep in mind I can get an alignment for 60-80 elswere, his expert explanation to me. is to tell me that he charged me extra because he had to remove the tie rod end just to put it back on to align the car . So I ask him what is his protocol when aligning isn't moving the tie rod by spinning it in or out how u fix the problem? He told me no. To me a U.S. MARINE Engineer. He is a lier! And drives up prophets by nickkling and dimeing.the customers with bogus claims. Them the customer service is some bull shit. Give jobs to the people who do what they are sopost to do with some level of integrity and honesty.

  10. Dec. 19, 2013 took my car at 9:30 a.m. to get an oil change ONLY called at 12:30p.m. and it's still gonna b another 45 minutes before it's ready. But they said only one person was ahead of me. Service means absolutely NOTHING to this company. If I have to drive an hour to get my oil changed they won't b doing it.

I stopped at ntb and they had been closed for at least 20 minutes. But the 2 guys who were there stayed after and fixed it for me. They were wonderful. I would like to thank them and make sure they get recognized for this. I appreciated this so much. Thank you ntb.I wouldn't had been able to drive in the snow to work with a donut. Ronda Kelly. 12. cant believe i called their store was put on hold for an hour and a half,
so i got on the chat line to ask the same question for tire pricing
on the buy 2 get 2 free, and informed them that this was going to be
a cheap fix for me, that i would be buying 5 expensive tires in 4 months
only for them to say sorry we cant help you with your question
of pricing of tires, even after i told them i was still on hold with the store

  13. They lied to me about tire prices at the Bridgeport, WV store. When I drove 40 miles to
purchase four tires, in order to do the purchase deal I had to pay for a one year
Wheel Alignment program. I was embarrassed because I had several friends with me wanting
to also purchase tires. My new NTB credit card has been destroyed. Never again.

  16. I went to NTB to purchase 4 Yokahama Tires and have them installed, well after 2hours they finish the installation of the tires, I pay them, go to my car and discover that they have installed the wrong tiers, they install Sumiitomo tires. So I tell them that I did not request Sumitomo tires, I requested Yokahama tires, they finally finish installing the correct tires.

Then he tells me that he can not change the bill of material, so I have a bill of material for tires that I do not have, he says that he will have to contact Corporate HQ in order to get me the correct BOM.

I then find that they have not put the custom chrome valve stem caps instead they have put some mismatched plastic valve stem caps on my car, and I never got my custom chrome valve stem caps. I will give him a week before I start legal proceeding.

I have been dealing with NTB a very long time and, have had several incidents of disagreement. Never before like this incident, with my harmonic balancer and my serpentine belt. My engine still shake and the serpentine belt squeaks. I've taken my car to (3) different mechanics and been told the same thing from each one of them. Each time I've taken the car back to NTB, I was told it is not the harmonic balancer. I am tired of the run around and will be starting legal procedures soon.

  18. I went for an oil change. Along with the list of unnecessary services they implied I needed, was an air filter. When I asked the cost, I was told 10 to 15 dollars and no charge for the labor. What a steal right ; no labor fees... (sarcasm) I accepted.

At check out time I was charged $28.99 for an air filter. Seriously the air filter is more that the oil change (which involves actual labor)? What happened to 10 to 15 dollars? I questioned the clerk, who ignored me and thanked me for coming in today. Is it because I am a woman, that you think you can rip me off ? Again I was ignored.

I don't mind paying for services rendered, but these people are outright DISHONEST thieves! This life lesson only cost me $15.99 (average cost of air filter for my car is $13), as opposed to the $680.23 list of unnecessary services they tried to sell me (which probably would have ended up over $2 K)

Bottom line is, DISHONEST customer service.

  20. I was having tires mounted at the NTB store in Kansas City, KS when one of their employees backed a customers car into my vehicle causing $1,300 of damage. He took off and did not report it. Fortunately, my wife was sitting in the vehicle. I reported to the manager on duty. I watched as the other customer came picked up her car and was never told what had happened. This was December 23rd and it is now Feb. 24th and still no resolve. They are not answering my calls or returning my messages. I guess it is time to make it ugly.

  22. The folks at NTB on Blackbob Road in Olathe, KS are clueless as well. I went to have a flat repaired, but the "technician" said it couldn't be repaired. OK, no big deal, it's almost time to buy new tires so how much for 4? After 20 minutes of the tech trying to figure out his own computer system I grabbed my keys and left. I just had a new set installed elsewhere in less time than NTB quoted me to fix a flat, and the tires are a fraction of the price that they would have been at NTB. If they can't figure out their own computer system, I'm not letting them near my car, even the tires.

As I went home to get all my medication out of the bag it wasn't there and I went up to the CVS Pharmacy and asked the Pharmacist if she happen to forget to put my medication in the bag and she stated that she did place it in the bag. Im afraid I have a similar complaint of theft of my wedding band from my truck glove box while having a battery installed. The manager MAHAD JAMA called to upsell me and I directed him to the glove box to find the service document we were discussing. MARLON Y. ROSARIO was the mechanic. I returned to the facility when I realized the ring was missing but was told they couldn't do anything about it. No way to track it, and too much time has elapsed anyway.

  31. the NTB IN FORT WORTH SAVED MY LIFE.
RANDY the Manager at 5872 N Tarrant Pkwy in Fort Worth 817-656-7300 knows what he's doing and DOES THE RIGHT THING. Here's the story:
Went to NTB in Fort Worth 7000 North Freeway just off Basswood Exit next to Home Depot. Last year they wouldn't pass my car for inspection because the brake pads were too low. So I paid $179 for new front pads. They have 12,000 mile or 12 month labor warranty with lifetime pad warranty.
11 1/2 months later (8000 miles) the right front starts a scraping noise. Metal to metal. Took it there and the service mgr said the pads were perfect but the rotors needed replacing. $300.
    Cute.
Called customer service 561-383-3051. I ended up talking to District Manager who straightened the whole thing out and installed new rotors and pads to the tune of nearly $600,,,,and insisted I go to another store manger Randy at NTB 5872 N Tarrant Parkway. SEE RANDY 817-656-7300 if you want brakes fixed. He was honest and was done asap.
New rotors and pads within the warranty and not any kind of problem with him. They back up their waranty. The District Mgr just became manager of the idiot at 7000 North Freeway and promised me he's fixing that store.

  32. I had a life endangering experience after having recommended work performed on my Toyota 4Runner.
NTB installed a Serpentine Belt that broke into shreds after 5 days of service. The vehicle was completely inoperable in the middle of a busy intersection during rush hour. I had to have my vehicle pushed out of traffic by the police and then towed to NTB. They claimed the belt broke due to a Front Crank Shaft Seal leaking oil. NTB claimed the problem resulted from a undetected oil leak. This was detected only after NTB installed a 3rd replacement belt on the same day that the 2nd belt had shredded. After NTB realized that the problem was beyond repairing, they had the vehicle towed to the Toyota dealership for further evaluation. I'm the original owner of the vehicle, and there was no oil leaks dripping from the car, and if NTB had noticed oil coming from the seal, this problem should have been brought to my attention before the replacement belt was installed, especially knowing the danger or fatality this problem could have caused. NTB recommended me having the belt replaced three months ago, and I trusted that they could perform the job without any problems. I was assured that they use quality replacement parts, but on the night that the belt broke, I was informed that the belt was of low grade quality, and that maybe the belt was defective. Presently, I'm without a car, and NTB does not want to assume financial responsibility/liability of getting my car repaired until they get an evaluation from Toyota. I very concerned that the due to the belt shredding, my vehicle could have sustained damage to the engine or other internal parts of the car. This needs to get resolved and financial restitution needs to be made in getting my car repaired for all damages due to the Serpentine Belt breaking, including car rental expenses.

    Subject – Just one Customer

    Dear Sir,

I’m only one customer letting you know of an issue that wasn’t taken care of. I’ll take my 4 vehicles and go somewhere else. Now, in the bigger scheme of things do you probably care? Probably not. Leadership is by example and, well, that’s the example I see by this situation not being taken care of last February. I’ve attached a copy of what I sent to the Better Business Bureau. As I am in the search for replacement tires for my SUV, I called just for giggles to the store I had the issue with and asked for “Jeff Prickett” (the individual who verbally assaulted me and almost physically did). I was informed that he was off that day but was returning first thing the next (so, he was obviously still employed). I would think at a minimum, he would have been fired for what transpired with me, but again, that’s the decision of leadership and of course, my decision to take my business elsewhere.

It’s also my decision to advertise everywhere I can of the situation and those results. I am a little let down that something wasn’t done though. As a retired Master Sergeant (that’s executive management in case you don’t know), we handle our problems and not ignore them. I don’t expect a follow up (I didn’t get one when I reported it; which is why I reported it to the BBB). You obviously don’t care about your stores or the actions of your employees. As the subject states – it’s just from one customer. In my case, I have 4 vehicles. As these customers (and vehicles) add up though – well, I think it will come to a point at some time where people will have enough and will have found someone else to do business with.

    Disgusted,

On 16 February 2015, my wife called the NTB on Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington DE to see about having 2 of our vehicles tires rotated (as I was off for the holiday). She used the store locater on your corporate website to be sure of the location. The store said they were very busy. We opted for an appointment; which we made for 1400 on 18 February 2015. The man who made the appointment verbally confirmed the time and which vehicles were to be serviced. I arrived a little early and attempted to check in. I stood in line and was asked by the next person to be helped (Jeff Prickett). I told him I was there for a scheduled appointment for 2pm. For 2 vehicles to have tires rotated, that my wife was right behind me and that I was a little early.

He then brought up some calendaring screen (it was pretty truncated, so I couldn’t actually read names in the small spaces). He questioned me again about having an appointment. I told him “Yes.” Now, he asked: “are you sure you have an appointment?” I said: “Yes, my wife made it 2 days ago during the holiday because the store said they were too busy.” He said, “With THIS store?” I said, “Yes”. He said, “Well, you don’t have an appointment.” Then proceeded to walk away; as he was walking away (almost entering a door to my right), I asked, “Where are you going?” He then said, “Who the f**k are you talking to?” I said, “Excuse me?” He said:” Who are you taking to?” I said, “That’s not what you said, I’m a customer, how dare you talk to me like that.” He starting to lunge at me as another employee pulled at his left arm and spun him around away from me. He then came at me again and said, “I’ll talk to you however the f**k I want to.” I said, “This isn’t the way you treat a customer.” He got up in my face and said “F**K YOU.” I said, “I didn’t say anything to you. What is your problem?” He said, “F**K YOU” again. He then picked up the phone and dialed some number. After a few seconds, I realized he was talking to the police. He said (on the phone) that he wanted me (a customer) removed from HIS building (as in directing the police to do it). I looked over at 2 other employees who were standing against the wall and asked where the manager was. Once individual stepped forward and said he was (John Ingram). He was standing against the wall most of the time (I guess) watching this all play out. He said he would take care of him (Jeff) later. I don’t believe that for a minute. I don’t think he had a clue in what to do and was shocked at what was going on.

John now started to take control of the situation by at least telling Jeff to get out of the area (or at least away from me). I attempted to explain to John that I had said nothing to Jeff except that I came in for a scheduled appointment that he said I didn’t have. I only questioned why he would just walk away form a customer with no comment and just leave me standing there. John said that was unsatisfactory, that he shouldn’t have and apologized. I told him that I wasn’t going to wait 2+ hours for a tire rotation and that’s why I made an appointment 2 days earlier. I didn’t want to be ‘fit in’. He said he’d make it work some way. As I was standing there, my wife came in (on time). Without going into all the detail in the same are that all this happened, I took her and John outside to the front and explained to her everything that just happened. As I was explaining, another customer walked out and gave me her name and phone number and said (to all of us):”Everything that he (pointing to me) said happened exactly as he said. You employed was completely out of line and if you need a witness, you can contact me.” He name and phone number is Margaret Erickson-Mitten 302-494-7290.

    continued from part 1

John kept apologizing over and over. When we walked back in, Jeff was right back where he was when I first came in (right back on the same keyboard taking customers)! Now, I would think at a minimum, you’d have him removed from at least the customer you just had the issue with, wouldn’t you?! If I were his supervisor, he would have been told to go home (with or without pay). I (or my wife) couldn’t believe that he was still there! Now, I (as the customer) am supposed to avoid the employee who was out of line and feel uncomfortable? Really? As it was, my truck was finished first, but my wife asked me to stay because she was uncomfortable with him being there. We also watched our vehicles to be sure that he wasn’t going to do anything else to us. John found slots for both vehicles to have the tires rotated. He said it wouldn’t be long at all. My wife and I chose to sit in the other room away from Jeff (and we should have had to).

After a while both vehicles were completed and John returned. He said his Store Manager (Robert (Bob) Simmons) had just stopped by so he was going to explain everything to him. I explained to John even as a first time customer (and I and a longtime customer to that store; I have 4 vehicles that I’ve already purchased tires from, not counting the maintenance), no one should have to go through what I just did. There was absolutely no reason for it. If he (Jeff) was having a bad day, then he should have approached his supervisor and told him/her that and left for the day. If he had a problem with the military, as I was wearing a veteran’s hat, he should not have been working in the front. If I wanted to, I could bring him up on charges of assault (yes verbal charges in this day of age mean a lot). Especially as the store management did not handle the situation. People loose businesses over stuff like this. I don’t know who he thinks he is or what his problem is but, again, I shouldn’t have to go through what I did. Don’t you think, at a minimum, the store manager would have wanted tot talk to use since he was there at the store? I’m still debating on what my possible next steps might be as I do have a witness. I guess what really depends on is the reply from their headquarters. Note: When I went to National Tire and Battery, this was not the kind of battery I had in mind … all joking aside - Just how serious do you take this? Obviously John (except for his apologizes) and the Store Manager, who can’t even make a phone call, didn’t feel this was a serious issue. Really?

  39. This is the email I sent to one of their email addresses:

I had the most upsetting experience at your Lexington, SC store today and as a result will never again be a NTB customer at any location.

I have purchased 3 new tires within the past few months from this store, two of those being only a month ago. On Wednesday after lunch I returned to my car and was alerted by the warning system that I only had 7 PSI in the front left tire, one of the two that was replaced on January 10, only one month prior. I drove to the facility where they put air in until I could get back until today, Friday, to have it taken care of. The person I spoke with Wednesday told me to come back and ask for some lady whose name I do not recall ( maybe Paula?) and that she would take care of me. We did discuss that no, I did not purchase an extended warranty and that I only had these tires for a month.

Well, after my visit today not only did this man tell me he never had that conversation with me after leaving my car there to be taken care of I was told that no leak could be found. So the story has changed from them telling me I must have run over an object that caused a flat to now being about a tire rim that caused the leak. I do not accept this explanation as it was never an issue before. The car in question is a Mercedes Benz and I am mid 40's. I believe it to be a defective tire and asked them to replace it. I was told by the manager that he would not replace it and he would not do anything about it. Please, keep in mind they are only guessing about this rim as being the culprit and have no basis for this assumption. Refusing to replace this defective tire for this reason is unacceptable.

This is one of the worst cases of Customer Service and Consideration I have ever experienced. I did inform them that they have lost me as a future customer because I certainly would not be returning. I did not "run over" anything, they could not find the cause and as such should have replaced that tire. This is a very poor reflection on your company and I am sorry to say will be discussed amongst my family, neighbors, fellow parents, etc. That manager was not concerned about the loss of one customer and I suppose he did not think ahead to not only my future purchases but those I come into contact with. There are two other national tire dealers right here in Lexington, SC that we can now give our money and our patronage to.

  40. I went online on January 31, 2016 to purchase tires for my vehicle. If I purchased 4 tires for my vehicle and used my NTB credit card, I would receive an $80.00 Visa prepaid card after mail-in rebate according to the promotion on the website. An application was filled out and approved for the purchase. I selected the tires that I wanted for my vehicle and made an appointment to have them put on which would be on February 7, 2016. I arrived at the Waco store on N Valley Mills Drive and was informed that I would not be receiving a rebate because that promotion had already expired but the associate that waited on us told us to contact the rebate office to inquire about the status of our rebate. I contacted them 2/9/2016 who told us to contact NTB for further information. I contacted the number provided by the rebate office-who took my information and assigned me a reference number-5182435 and said an area supervisor would be in contact with me.

The manager of the Waco store contacted me and informed that unfortunately they could not honor the rebate program since I purchased them on 2/7/2016. According to the manager, the tires had to have an invoice date before 2/1/2016 and which supposedly was on the rebate form which I have found not to be the case. It was not our fault that the store did not have the particular tires we selected in stock and would not be in the store until 2/7/2016. If I knew that was the case, I would have purchased the tires elsewhere where the cost of them were they were cheaper. Instead of getting a good deal on a set of tires, I feel like I was ripped off by your company by not honoring the rebate that we are entitled to.

As of 2/21/2016, there has not been any response after sending an email to customer service. If this matter can not be resolved I will be contacting the local BBB as well as the one for corporate headquarters so this will not happen to anyone else.

  44. NTB 5400 Capital Blvd. Raleigh NC. Worst place to get tires rotated for A E150 cargo van. They have NO idea that the tire pressures are different for the back and the front. Specifications are on the door... :{ and they do not have the technology to re-calibrate the dash for the light to go off (exclamation point (!) Consumer BEWARE !!!!
