  1. I Will be moving to Colorado in the next few months and I havent decided whether to buy an existing home or a new one. I went to your site to look at the floor plan and prices. The site is so totally messed up that I have decided that Clayton Homes are not what I want. I have to fill in the area, clikc to see floor plans in specific price ranges then I click select and it takes me back to area. The entire system thake you in a circle or it shows you the homes available in the zip code I will probably be moving. Does Claton not sell new homes to be moved to various areas? Do you not want potential customers to be able to see the floor plans of all of your homes? I am sure there is a way to see the plans but I am not a computer nerd and I refuse to work at understanding a web site, simplify it you damned idiots.

  6. They are ALL crooks!!!! we were promised lots of things that we never got. we were promised a certain monthly payment that ended up being $150 higher! I could sit here and write allllllll day long all of the things that Clayton Homes has done to us. And don't be fooled... Corporate doesn't do anything about it either!! We contacted them on MANY occassions and were told that they would call us back... the last of which was 6 months ago... and I'm STILL waiting on that phone call. They can't do anything right! from Corporate all the way down to the maintenance guys... nobody can do what they say they are going to do. I am FED up with them! We have thought many times about telling them to come get their damn house and shove it up their ass and pay for it themselves simply because we are tired of messing with them!!!!

  8. I have a home in Riverbay Mobil Home Park At 411-Riverbay in Tampa Florida. Since Clayton homes has taken it over the prospectus has been thrown out the window. One most recent problem is, is that we are a family park in in that prospectus that we sign when we move in is that no commercial vehicles are permitted. Well we have new and now old residents that are bringing their big rigs in and parking them in their yards on the grass. We are also paying to pave the roads, that will only handle light traffic, cars and pickups. The roads are being destroyed and the prospectus means absolutely nothing. I would not suggest anyone to purchase a home in this park. Complaining goes nowhere , the home owners President claims we will have to get use to it, the office run by Janelsa refuses to do any thing about this.

  9. I am in the processes of buying a home from clayton homes now. I am telling you all now that If you have a choice, and you all do, buy from anyone other then Clayton Homes. It has been a year now and I am still not in the house the only thing they keep telling me is spend more money. My loan expires in March if they wait that long then Clanton Homes will own it and I will go somewere else.

  10. Clayton Homes in Waycross Ga should start doing drug test on there employees and background checks!!! maybe then we would get a home that wasn't just thrown together... there are drugs all over the place and I know one person who use to break in to mobile homes on the lot and steal items and now they are working for them!!

  11. Don't ever buy from Clayton Homes. It was the worst decision I've ever made. I was promised to be in my home by early October, here it is the middle of January and still not in the home. The home has been sitting on my property since beg. of Dec and they still are not done with it. When the two idiots came to work on the inside trim they tracked mud throughout the house. And not just a little bit of mud. It was huge chunks of mud that was smashed into my brand new carpet. You couldn't even see the floor that's how much mud there was. And when I complained the corporate they got some 70 year old woman to come clean the house. She brought a small vacuum and a mop. I ended up having the clean the carpet. There is still mud in it. I am going to have to hire a professional cleaner out of my own money. I hate clayton homes!

  16. I wouldn't suggest anyone buy a clayton home. Mine is less than 4 years old, and it's falling apart. The office in Lumberton, NC says because it's 4 years old there is nothing they will do to fix anything. ( and they talked me into buying an extended 5 year warranty)SO, the life of these homes is less than 4 years????? Frustrated to no end!

    1. Have you or anyone living in your manufactured home experiencing any health problems since you moved in 4 yrs ago? A family member bought a triple wide custom order Marlette by Clayton Homes and starting having health problems a short time after moving in that doctors couldn't find the cause. He just passed away from a bone marrow disorder and what they are calling a undiagnosed condition. Paid a professional indoor air quality testing co to test for formaldehyde and other vocs. Test came back in excess high for formaldehyde. What's been your experience?

I have been watiing fpr three months for my walk thru items to be replaced. After the fourth time a contractor showed up, I still have no repairs on the trailer. Now they said they lost the original list and they dont see anything wrong with the scratch in the counter top or the scratched on the cabin or the nail protruding through the floor or the countless other items that need repair.
    NEVER BUY A CLAYTON HOME

  20. Bought a modular home from Clayton Homes in Statesville NC. We were told through out the entire buying process that we would be able to work with set up to decide placement of house. Yeah, right. Bought the land from the owner of that particular Clayton Homes and got royally screwed. The house was basically put where HE wanted it. House was put closer to the road than we would EVER had liked. We had plans of adding a "factory" front porch so it didn't look "trailery", there's no room for it. Septic was run right where we were going to put an above ground pool, and our "parking" was put behind the house at the edge of the septic lines. The entire front 1/3 of our back yard is useless for anything. The owner has tried telling us the county dictates where the hous HAS to be set, but the county says they only approve a location after a floor plan and lot layout has been submitted. The real kicker? The floor plan that was submitted ISN'T EVEN OUR HOUSE! The douchebag submitted someone else's house, and based placement off a perk test that was done 2 YEARS before we even set foot in Clayton Homes. I found out it would have only cost me the price of another perk test (which I would GLADLY have paid) to put the house EXACTLY where we wanted it. We weren't even given that choice.

  25. Spoke to 3 salespeople and got 3 totally different answers. Have heard that the PRIMARY lending company makes you pay the full interest if the home is paid off early. Ten, twenty or thirty year loans....you have to pay interest. We were told a triple would only be $20-25,000.00 more when the third person said oh not it will be about $70,000.00 more. I think that by the time we would have been finished with everything, the home we looked at ($125,000.00) would have cost almost $300,000.00 (including $58,000.00 for property).

  26. Beautiful homes but the production employees are not treated well. There is a lot of racism there or in the words of Clayton supervisors "favoritism" because they are not aloud to use the word racism. If they use it they risk being fired. The have horrible work ethics.

  28. We thought we were buying Quality when we spent almost $100K for our new home. What we got is carpet not stretched, padding less that 1/4 inch thick, cabinets that are wrapped to look like stain. Floors that squeak, pop and dip in in places, dirt under the vinyl sticking up everywhere, Molding that does not come near joining, lights in the Bathrooms falling down, shower doors that will not stay on the track, vinyl on the outside having to be replaced where it is on the brick foundation, cheap chalky paint through the whole house. They make the house look good but after the warranty is out, that is when things start falling apart.
I will say that they have "fixed" the carpet problem and replaced some of the molding, I told them to take care of the living area since that is what we see the most and was the most embarrassing. They tried to fix the kitchen floor but it is worse now than ever, they replaced a couple of cabinet doors that the "wrapping" peeled off . I am so disgusted with this house it makes me sick every time something else goes wrong. If I knew how to leave my name I would but I don't know what an URL is and it is needed for my name. I will gladly talk to anyone and advise against a Clayton home.

  29. Clayton Homes & anyone affiliated with them are "CROOKS & LIARS"!!!!!!!!! RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THESE INDIVIDUALS.......YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!!!!! From day one of paying cash for my brother's new "2015 Clayton Mobile Home" it has been nothing more than a "NIGHTMARE".......TALK ABOUT "POOR WORKMANSHIP AND NO ONE CARING"..........OMG, PATHETIC PEOPLE!!!!!! They have a racket going with the dealers, sub-contractors(who re-build the mobile homes after leaving the factory) & the factory representatives!!!!!! How deceitful they ALL are in our eyes!!! A brand new mobile home and on the first day we start finding "defects" with the mobile home..........it's been over 3 months now and we continue to find more things wrong and are wondering what we'll find down the road!!!!!! I was told by Kip Trush, General Mgr at the Bonham, TX plant that I was disrespectful...........give me a break..........we provided close to 300 photos of all the items that were caused by "POOR WORKMANSHIP" and I'm told that I am "DISRESPECTFUL"..........Mr. Thrush is the "pathetic, disrespectful individual that is to oversee the plant"!!!!!!!! I ask why do they even have a "QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT" (THAT'S SUPPOSE TO CHECK EVERYTHING TWICE, PER THEIR BOOKLET THAT'S PROVIDED WITH EACH NEW MOBILE HOME) and he finally agreed that it was HIS FAULT AND POOR LEADERSHIP!!!!! AS WE STATED RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM CLAYTON MOBILE HOMES........YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!!!!! ~~ WHAT A RIP-OFF, THEY GOT CASH FOR THIS HOME, NOW PRODUCE A PIECE OF CRAP AND THE CONSUMER IS SCREWED FOR SURE~~~~~RUN, RUN, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~~ PISSED OF CONSTOMER!!!!!!!!!!

  31. Do not deal with clayton homes in Mabank Tx either. We was just about done with our deal and found out that they decided they wasn't going to put in our water meter (which was supposed to be done). I told them that it was part of the deal we talked about when we first came there and Clay Jones said that it was never part of the deal. He said he could make it happen but we had to give up our driveway, steps, skirting, and the living room suit we was supposed to get to equal what it would cost to put in the water meter. I finally told them to stick in there ear. Thank God I found out before we signed papers. Clay Jones is a liar and so is all of Clayton Homes. Do not buy from clayton homes.

  32. We bought our modular last year (it has almost been 1 year) from the Statesville NC office. I would not buy a home from them again!!! As I saw on another post, RUN!!! don't walk away!!!. I have a dent in the vinyl siding on the back side of the house that was there when the house was delivered!!! They knew about it before the house was set up!!!! It is still not fixed. The vinyl siding on the back side of the house between the windows is very weak!! We just washed the back of the house, and found that. You can push in on the vinyl siding between the windows. There are other problems that I will not go into at this time. I want to send a letter to Corporate as well as the Statesville NC office because of the problems that we have had and still have.

  33. I have been working with this company for 4 months. We currently own a mobile home on 6 acres of land that we put on the market in March, at the end of March we found a buyer, and they decided to use Clayton homes to finance the property, buy our mobile or take it as a trade in on the modular the buyers picked to put on the land. This process was ridiculous, somehow instead of clayton purchasing our property, then letting them and the buyers figure out the rest of the process, we were for some reason involved beyond belief, we were calling the buyers, the banks, the health department for info on septic.....the list goes on, we felt as if we were doing a lot of the foot work. Meanwhile Clayton homes was busy adding on extra cost, and over charging the buyers, so much it was putting them over what they qualified for, we however had put a contract on our dream home with a contengency to sell, let our daughter pick out her room, picked out pain, carpet, and even paid $400 for a home inspection, because this whole time we are being told everything was running smoothly. Then all of a sudden last week, we get a phone call from the buyers, that they backed out because they could not go any more over their budget, Clayton added on a $15,000 excavation fee to put their home on the land, which was at first told was included, not to mention my husband is an excavator and there was only a half days work that needed to be done, and they were over charging this couple by $10,000.....after my husband calling and talking to Clayton and the buyers, clayton decided to no longer work with us, basically due to my husband's honesty with the buyers. Any way, Clayton homes has caused a severe amount of turmoil in my life over the past 4 months for absolutely nothing! I'm pissed, disgusted, and heart broken, along with my family, and the couple that wanted to buy our property.
I feel as if Clayton should have to make things right with us, we will now lose our dream home at the end of this month, and we lost 4 months that I could have kept our property on the market. I would not...and will not recommend them to anyone, word of mouth travels fastest in a small town, and I see 30 clients a day that will know about this.
I may add, this is not the first time. We've had friends that's has dealt with the same crap from this company, and took their business elsewhere and was set up in half the time.
