Bloomingdales Main Office - Worst Customer Service

I had purchased a pair of $200 boots online from Bloomingdale’s for my daughter for Christmas. Since they were the wrong color, I ordered them in brown and I used the $50 loyalists reward points that I had received from my previous order. When I went to return the boots that were the wrong color to the Bridgewater Bloomingdale’s store, the register had deducted the $50 I used to buy the brown boots plus an additional 0.29 for loyalists points I didn’t even use. When I brought that to the attention of the “b-helpful” person (who by the way was very arrogant and rude and kept saying that I didn’t understand what she was saying), it angered me how degrading she was to me. I was ok with them taking back the $50 but not taking money from me that I didn’t even use. It might just be 0.29, but if they do that to other customers the money adds up. She had me call customer service while I was at her register so they could better explain the purpose of deducting the money. The first person hung up on me after he couldn’t find my loyalist number and the second person I spoke to was just as frustrating as the service person at the store. I returned the boots with a deduction of more than what I used in points. They want to make sure you have “0” reward points for returning any item (I had 147 points up until I made my return and then I had “0”), which is probably why they deducted the unused 0.29 from my purchase. I will never shop at Bloomingdale’s again. I’d rather go to Kohl. At least they deduct the right amount: no more and no less. Your “b-helpful” service people need a training course on how to treat customers.

Canceled the same two orders from an in store purchase without a reason---

Ordered an expensive watch in the store BLOOMINGDALE’S Shops at Riverside (NJ Paramus) store. Promised ‘points’ with cash rewards towards next purchase, opened charge card to pay off with no interest. The next day was emailed that the purchase was ‘canceled’ without a reason. Called the salesperson and had to return to the store to redo the entire purchase with the same salesperson. The same day received the same email that the purchase was canceled–no reason. Called the salesperson who was speaking with the manager–requested we come back to redo again, but could not guarantee we would receive the item. ???? The manager could not give a reason as to why this second order was canceled. How can you order in good faith with excellent credit only to have your order canceled twice for no reason??????????? We did not receive an answer as to why it kept being canceled. We did not go back a third time and stated if they could not redo the order from the original paperwork, cancel it and the credit card with all the ‘promised’ point rewards. Never had such a bad faith experience with any department, especially one considered ‘high end’. HORRIBLE and shame on you Bloomingdale’s for your shady, bad faith, and convoluted ordering practice…You expect us to spend our time and gas ordering over and over again only to have our order canceled?? What kind of department store does this???? The attorney general should be advised, as something is not right here…

Bloomingdales will not take my return because I can't find my receipt - I'm a Black Card Member

I went to return a pair of jeans I bought 10 days earlier because when I came home I found I already had them which I forgot because they were in the back of my closet. I couldn’t find my receipt and they said they absolutely need it and can’t take it back without it. I asked them to look in their system and said it didn’t show. That was just ridiculous! I’m a frequent customer who has spent more than I like to admit and it seems that doesn’t mean a thing. I have a black card. I’m no longer going to shop there out of principle!

Bloomingdales Customer Service

Worst customer service department I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. First, you are on hold for an hour and then you get a supervisor who is nasty…Janet L. ….and states that I can only do a certain transaction in the store. I told her I am disabled and therefore that is discrimination against home-bound disabled people. She said it is not. I tried to explain what discrimination is but she clearly doesn’t care.

I thought someone would try to help me at a supervisor level but they

are horrible. I have had people at Macy’s help me all the time. Bloomingdales needs to re-analyze its policies, procedures, and customer service before they have to close its doors. They should take a lesson from their baby sister store Macy’s. Just because you carry more designer names, does not give you the right to treat your customers like crap. We can purchase our items directly from the designers and cut you out completely. I will be reporting your discrimination to the ADA and as far as your customer service goes…I hope all customers realize that they

can be treated with respect elsewhere.
