  1. Please get your Fort Lauderdale airport location together. My goodness! As many complaints as there are, you still have employees with awful customer service. NO MEANS NO! If a person declines the offered options, MOVE ON!!!! And don't try to 'accidentally' add the options! Bad business and shame on you for allowing this to continue to go on! I definitely would not recommend any of your locations and have advised my company no to NEVER reserve me a car with your company.

  2. We will never again book with Advantage. One agent was on duty and helping another customer. A half hour later a second "salesman" finally came on. I was tired, dealing with a lost piece of luggage and not in the mood to argue. The salesman told me that my luggage would not fit in the car we had rented and said he "had to upgrade us" for an additional $8.00 a day but when I looked later at my charge, it was for $11.00 a day. I checked out the car that we had rented and it would have held us and our luggage nicely. We didn't need any upgrade--what a scam

  3. I writing this message in regards to the customer service I recieved at your Dallas/Love Field branch. I am currently renting one of your vehicles until Jan. 3rd and so far my experience has been the worst rental experience ever. I just arrived to Dallas for the holidays and from the start, the renting of your vehicles was painstakingly tedious. Your phone systems are not correct, so you cannot get a hold of someone in the branch if an issue comes up, the vehicles do not seem to be maintenance and are dirty, and the employees themselves appear to be apathetic and unaccountable. This experience is a textbook example of what your competitors show in commercials when they compare themselves to apparantly YOUR company.

  4. Honolulu - worst service EVER. 1 hour wait to pick up and 20 mintues to drop off. Evidence of their lack of care is fact there are no replies to the complaints here.

  5. I was at the Oklahoma City location. It was late 10:30p ~ 11pm. Your information is not very clear when using the online travel portals(travelocity, priceline, etc). It is NOT clear that a 'standard' car = 2 door coupe. My reservation did NOT state that the car was a 2 door coupe. It stated that I had booked a 5passenger 3 piece luggage vehicle, which would be a nissan altima or similar. NO mention that it would be 2 door. MY GRIPE: Why did your staff at the counter argue with me. He made it his business to make sure I knew that I was wrong in booking a 'standard' car. He even printed out a page to show me the various classes of car. He would not change it to a 2 door without adding an additional $8/day. Needless to say, I used a different rental company and got a Impala for the say money. I plan to tell everybody I know about how your employee felt the need to 'prove' me wrong!

  6. Hello,

I wanted to let you know how much of a joke your company is. I booked a car on your website a few months ago I think back in October for a car for January 4th Thur the 13th. When I booked my car through your website it said your company was at MCO airport. After a long flight my wife and I just wanted to get our car and start our vacation but NO we couldn't do that at all. We had walked through the whole airport car rental desks with all of our bags plus a have a very bad back and we kept on walking where all of the company's are and still couldn't find your company. There was a few signs with your company name on it but it didn't tell us where to go at all. So I went up to the Hertz desk because I knew that your company was bought out by Hertz. So the guy tells me that your company has moved out of the airport and that I had to take a shuttle bus to where ever the world you have moved to. O by the way YOU COULD HAVE CALLED ME OR EMAILED ME TO TELL ME THAT YOU MOVED OFF THE AIRPORT PROPERTY BECAUSE THEN I WOULD HAVE CANCELED THE CAR. But wait there is more So the guy at Hertz tells us what bus number we had to wait at for this shuttle. So my wife and I go outside waiting for this shuttle at the number he told us it was the wrong number. Your COMPANY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A BUS NUMBER. So the bus pulls up and the guy walks out of the shuttle for 10 seconds and gets back in the shuttle and starts to drive off and I am yelling HEY HEY AND WAVING MY HANDS IN THE AIR SO HE STOPS. We weren,'t the only ones either. So this still is not the best part of this cluster you know what of a story. We get to your car company rental place and get off the shuttle bus and the check in line is pretty much coming out of the door. I had to stand in this long line for at least an hour and 30 mins. This is not including the almost 30 mins it took for the guy to check me in and ask me all his stupid questions that I really couldn't understand in the first place because he didn't speak very well English to begin with. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT YOUR COMPANY SCREWED UP OUR FIRST DAY OF OUR VACATION. SO WITH THAT BEING SAID I WILL NEVER RENT FROM YOUR COMPANY EVER AGAIN AND I AM ALSO GOING TO LET EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO RENT FROM YOUR COMPANY EVERY AGAIN. My email address is eazzzzzyyy@gmail.com if you have any questions for me.

  8. Well, I guess I'll be the lone good comment on here. I rented from Fort Lauderdale on December 31. The price was fantastic compared to all of the other rental companies. I didn't have to wait a long time (maybe 10 minutes), the car was clean and drove well, and I returned it with no issues (maybe 10 minutes to drop off). All in all, an excellent experience. My ONE issue is that I need a duplicate receipt, and I emailed who customer service told me to email (receipts@ad....) and they never responded. I'm going to call the Corporate Office to see if they can take care of this. So, other than that, it was a good experience. I would rent with them again.

  9. You should have a policy for when you make a mistake in booking the dates of your trip you would be able to change it without a $50.00 charge. I learned a valuable lesson to read the whole contract. I will not be renting from you in the future. Other car rental companies know that we can make an error and not punish us for it. You should consider changing your cancellation policy.

  12. Just finished my rental from Hobby International Airport. This has been the worst experience I have had with any car rental company. They should change the name to DISADVANTAGE.
From the start when picking up the car I had an hour wait before reaching the counter. Once there I had to wait further because their computers were having problems. The agent tried to aggresively push the pay for the fuel now option and the liability insurance. I kindly declined both. When picking up the car the person at the pick up place gave my car to another person and had given my rental agreement to the same. During the 1 week rental period, I tried to call the 713-645-4089 number. No one ever picked the phone and there was no other alternate number to call if you needed any assistance. I WILL NEVER AGAIN RENT FROM THIS SORRY ASS COMPANY.

  13. I rented a car in your San Diego Airport location. It was dusk, raining and I was running late for an appointment. on the damage report sheet notied the obvious 3 scratches on the back of the car and drove out. Noticed a mile down the road that the tank was only 7/8 full.

Returned the car the next day after filling the cars tank. The return agent scoured the car looking for every little scratch or scrape. He noted a small windshield chip immediately next the "A" advantage label in the lower left corner of the windshield. Accused me of damaging the evhicle. I stated that I had not been on the freeway and there was no way the damage occurred during my 12 hour rental period. Manager backed this rude young man. Charged my account for the damage.

This will be the LAST time I, our any one else in my company, will be renting from Advantage! Hope it was worth it...you should fire both the manager and the arogant check-in person.

  14. TAMPA FLORIDA LOCATION MANAGED BY TERRY GIBSON IS A DISCGRACE!

AND SHOULD BE LISTED AS A SCAM, ON RIPOFF REPORTS!

Most unprofessional car rental company I have ever worked with. First off the property is off airport even though clearly advertised as on Airport! This place was in a dump of a trailer! The line was 10 deep we waited for 30-40 minutes. Every customer before were all furious and seemed to be blown away with the miserable service they were getting! The manager Terry Gibson sat behind his desk and did absolutely nothing to help waiting clients. There were only two people working the computers and a girl filing her nails answering the phone. Terry was rude ugly and frankly an asshole! He sat in his office doing nothing! We flew in for a meeting at Tampa General and now were going to be late. I asked the manager, Terry Gibson to help us and he looked at me like I was crazy and responded You just have to wait in line and then he went back to his desk and sat there looking around. I guess he showed me he was the boss! What an ASS!
Oh and of course they did not have the car we ordered and were going to upcharge us for another car! RipOff, Unprofession,
Rude, basically scum! Especially Terry Gibson so called City manager. What a joke!

  15. Today I went to pick up what i thought was the midsize SUV that i reserved, when i got to the affice the sales person tried to put me in a mid size car. I chalked that up as a minor slip. When I mentioned it to the sales person he quickly changed it to what i thought was the correct vehicle, but sadly it turns out it was a compact SUV. I called the office to see if they will swap vehicle and that i was given the wrong one and the manager argued with me and stated that at this location the chevy Captiva was considered a mid size but was willing to switch. I called corporate and asked if the locations had different definitions for the vehicle types and was told no. that i was issued the wrong vehicle... The manager outright lied to me about the class vehicles at their location in OKC, so now i am very sceptcle about the transaction to switch vehicles.... More to follow possibly.

  16. Thanks for providing a forum to Vent!

“I understand that people make mistakes; yet there is also an exception to every rule!”

Unfortunately the Actions of Advantage Rent-A-Car caused me to “Pay for Two Rental Cars;” as well as arrive “Late to My Father’s Un-Veiling!” I tried to speak to managers; yet there were none to work with to see if they could help me! My attempts to get a refund have been futile! I ended up pre-paying Advantage and then had to use E-Z and in fact they were polite, honest and very EZ to work with...

  17. Advantage rental car in Las Vegas overbooks reservations and then when you go to pickup your reserved car you are referred to Payless rent a car one hour wait. Who is in charge of the advantage rent a car in Las Vegas. Some german guy you can't even understand is the manager he doesn't even know how to rent a car. Make current employees that have been there at least three months your managers. No one works there more than three months as managers come and go there like I do my laundry. Get some regional guys overs there to square it away. Poor employees don't even know what they are doing as being trained by someone that can't even deal with the public as can't understand them. Who is screening/hiring managers in Las Vegas

  19. How come all the other rental car agencies in Las Vegas has cars when you get there and Advantage over books and then refers customers to pay for less who is in charge in Las Vegas. Get a manager in there that has a clue. You will lose lots of doe with current managers their. Get cars get cars get cars get cars. You recently had a large music festival in las vegas and you should have got more cars anybody there have foresight. If you have nascar music festivals where folks need vehicles plan accordingly. I could make you a ton of money if I worked there. Basic know how of the community events, again hire a manager that lives there and knows the community not some foreign guy without a clue. Who hires managers in Las Vegas get a clue.

  20. To whom it may concern,

My husband and I normally rent with Enterprise and decided to try out your company as we found a cheaper rate. First impressions with the customer service were pleasant at the San Antonio location however my concern is with the overall corporate policies and lack of attention to detail. The address on the San Antonio location directs you to the actual airport, not the rental center. Additionally, there is one sign as you exit the airport directing you in the general direction of the rental center but from there, there is no guidance. We had to call the location to get directions. When we explained to the customer service representative behind the counter of the lack of direction, he said he was aware and apologized. If the company is aware of this, why would someone not correct the website and give more visibility to direct customers to their location throughout the airport?

Our reservation was under my husband’s name yet the credit card is in my name, because of this technicality, corporate policy states the driver needs a credit card in the driver’s name so they charged us for an additional driver at $10 a day= $50. We asked to speak to the manager who was very pleasant as well, but also stated it is corporate policy and there is nothing he can do, but he did offer to waive 50% of the charge. If you can waive 50% of the charge, there is obviously something you can do to waive the entire extra driver fee. They did offer us a free upgrade which was nice however this technicality is ridiculous. My husband and I have the same last name, our accounts are linked, it just so happens the credit card is in my name.

If this was known beforehand, we would have stayed with Enterprise as they do not charge for additional drivers. I will not be using Advantage rental car again.

  21. I just got done renting an "Advantage" car for a week in Salt Lake City, UT. It took forever for sucky Advantage to get us through the paperwork and to the vehicle. Once we were driving, we noticed that the MAINTENANCE OIL WARNING was glaring in the instrument column - guess Advantage is a bit behind on scheduled maintenance if you guys do it at all. BUT, THE WORST THING IS YOU BASTARDS DOUBLED THE PRICE I WAS QUOTED! You quoted me approximately $250 (Internet) - but charged me $500!!!!!!!! Rat bastards! I called and talked with the manager in Utah and all he had to say was, "well, that was the price for the car; the rest is all additional charges that have to do with the airport". He refused to talk about it further, gave me the number to your corporate offices and hung up the phone. ADVANTAGE IS A VERY APPROPRIATE NAME FOR YOUR COMPANY BECAUSE YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS!!! When I left your stupid booth after compaining, the couple behind me had the same problem with your crap company - they too expected their bill to be close to the quote, but, it too was doubled. The Better Business Bureau is my next stop in my battle to get the frivolous charges removed and make honest part of your marketing plan. I really hope enough patrons come forward to shut your shit down for good. This isn't the last you will hear from me - of this I guarantee!

  23. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !! I recently took a trip from Seattle to El Paso, Texas. When I returned the car at the El Paso airport, I accidentally left my sunglasses (Maui Jim's) work $240 in the center consol. I called the office immediately upon discovery when connecting in Phoenix, Arizona to my final destination of Seattle, Washington. I was referred to a different back office when talking to the front desk customer service representative. First issue, the front desk was not equipped to handle the call and when I tried to connect with the back office, the phone continued to ring with no one answering. Second issue, lack of timely response from the back office. After I was able to connect with the back office, the individual I spoke with indicated that they did find some sunglasses, but the manager left for the day and they "could" be in the manager's office which was now locked. Third issue, employees could not resolve my issue and I had to continue to follow up. The following day I connected with a manager in the back office. She told me that they did not have any sunglasses, which was different than what I heard the prior day. She did on to tell me how honest the employees where and they identify many items such as laptops and turn them back over to the customer. Additionally, she said that they have cameras and there is no way that employees could steal. I questioned the comment on cameras stating that there were no cameras in the parking lot where I returned the car and they could be stolen from the time the car is physically dropped off and driven to the location where the cars are cleaned. The manager told me that she would call the customer that was currently renting the car to see if they found/had the glasses. I asked if she would call me back either way, and she said, "yes." Fourth issue, there appears to be no centralized controls for customer items accidentally left in a vehicle and all of the staff from the front desk to the back office appear to be operating from multiple points of view...very disappointing. Fifth issue, the manager never called me back and it is now four days later. I am very disappointed overall with the lack of responsiveness and professionalism at Advantage Rental Car. I was in El Paso because my mother is having significant health problems and may not be with us much longer. Understandably, the stress being experienced by all my family members (including myself) could lead anyone to understand a memory lapse such as leaving my sunglasses in the car. It is a shame that people can't be honest and give property back to the rightful owner. I work hard for what I have and combined with the trip expenses (and cost of the rental) car, the additional loss of $240 (sunglasses) only compounds the situation. I will not recommend, nor will I utilize the services of Advantage Rental Car in the future. Further, I am a director with Microsoft and I am sharing my experience with the MS corporate travel management team. I will also be raising this issue with the Advantage highest level executive I can reach. For anyone interested, my rental contract number is ELP-10517.

  24. In all the years I've been renting cars in the U. S and abroad, I've NEVER had such POOR SERVICE or seen such a TOTAL DISREGARD for making things right afterwards as I experienced with Advantage Rent A Car.

On July 7, I rented a car from the Pensacola Airport location, to be returned on July 8. Shortly after leaving the parking lot, I noticed that the low tire pressure signal was on, but as it was late at night and dark, I couldn't tell then if there actually was any problem.

The next day as I was getting ready to drive back from Panama City Beach to return the car and catch my flight back to Atlanta, the tire went completely flat. I called the rental office which put me in touch with your roadside assistance to ask if they could put me in another car or bring me a full sized tire to replace the flat. Roadside assistance said the only thing they could do was send someone in an hour or so to take the flat off and put the peanut tire on. After I waited almost an hour and no one had come to help me, I called again. This time they said I could put the peanut tire on myself and drive 128 miles back to the Pensacola Airport on the highway at 25 miles an hour -- which means if I wasn't killed for going too slowly on the highway, I would have missed my flight by several hours and lost the money for it.

Your company was perfectly OK with LEAVING ME STRANDED AND ALONE in a strange town with no place to stay overnight and no way to get transportation of any kind to anywhere. So I notified the rental counter that I was leaving the car where it was in Panama City Beach, locked up and under safe surveillance, and would return the key whenever I was able to make it back to Pensacola.

I finally caught a ride with a kind person who drove 2.5 hours over and 2.5 hours back to bring me to the airport and return to her home.

When I returned the key to the rental counter, I was told by the person there that Advantage would refund my entire rental fee of $46.06 to compensate me for the terrible experience I had with your company. It is now 6 weeks later, and the refund hasn't been received yet.

I've called the Advantage counter several times in the past 2 weeks asking for the matter to be escalated to you. Each time the representatives were very courteous and promised to try to help, but I haven't received the refund or heard from you either. Instead I received a copy of my rental contract and a copy of the $200 renter deposit refund by email. I don't need copies of these documents as I kept the originals.

It is possible that some of what happened was out of your personal control, but you are the manager and I hold YOU responsible for the UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER in which the original event was handled and the FAILURE TO REMEDY it afterwards. I believe an immediate apology and a refund of $46.06 to my charge account are in order.

I will allow ONE WEEK from today for you to resolve this matter satisfactorily before I take further action. I do not intend to let it go.

He then proceeded to run after me in the parking lot yelling and screaming about the deposit policy. I said please stop and leave me alone I will just take this up with Corporate and he then threatened me. 31. LIAR-LIAR!! My husband and I flew into the San Antonio airport on Friday Nov 15th for the COTA Formula 1 race in Austin. As I was looking to rent a car before leaving, we noticed the car companies were all off site and you had to take a shuttle to pick up your car. Since we were on a support team for one of the Historic F1 drivers we wanted to get to Austin asap on Friday. The ONLY car company that list "counter and car in terminal" was Advantage. When we arrived Friday at 4 pm, the only thing we found was a SIGN on the Advantage desk directing us to the shuttles; no person to talk to. Our frustration continued when ALL of the other car shuttle companies were picking up their customers and the Advantage shuttle was the LAST one to show up. We then proceeded to DRIVE PAST ALL OF THE OTHER CAR COMPANIES before coming to Advantage. The man at the desk said when I asked him and SHOWED him the reservation that said they were in the terminal, he said, "Oh, that's not until Jan 2014". We then proceeded to be given a dirty car with multiple dents we had to have cleared and recorded before leaving. This was FALSE advertising to get me to make reservations with them AND be willing to pay a little more for the convenience of having the car onsite at the airport. We are very angry, feel used and completely mislead!!

When I got the rental car, they ONLY thing they told me to do is inspect the car by myself, and just circle either SCRATCH OR DENT on the form, which I did, there is lot of scratch surround the car. The WORST thing is when i return the car back to the location, there was a guy name JOHN NANONE, he was being very RUDE to us, he just suddenly come up that I damage the muffler, I was like WTH, then he said he will find the previous form to see if there is any report about the muffler, and suddenly he said..he cant find it.....then guess what? he force me to sign a paper, which about they will ask someone to inspect it, if something wrong, they will charge the money from my credit card...I refuse to sign that OF COURSE, but he keep mention it was my fault.....even the other ppl work in there saw this situation, they never want to come to claim us at all..and let this things going to get WORST....

I ask for manager, and they said the MANAGER is not here!!!
WHATS UP WITH THIS CAR RENTAL COMPANY?????

  33. This was the WORST experience ever in 40 years of renting cars!! This started as a "Bait and Switch". I rented a "standard" size car from Advantage Rent A Car in Salt Lake City A/P through Travelocity for 13 days. Bottom line cost per Travelocity was $410.58. When I went to pickup the car as a "Standard" size car it was 2 door. Upgrade was required to get a 4 door. Then there was all of the hidden fee that Travelocity was not aware of which added another $98.99. Then they charge another $200.00 deposit directly to my credit card for a total of $760.39. I'm still waiting for that refund in "a few day" - if I get it. Supposedly, there was a windshield rock chip. They must have used a magnifying glass to find it. Then, as an aggravation point, the remote didn't. I was told that's OK, just use the key! So much for maintenance and Customer Service.

Bottom line - the worst car renting experience I have had in 40 years of renting cars. Don't rent rom Advantage - they ARE NOT the cheapest game in town.

  34. In March 2014 my wife and I reserved and paid in advance for a car from advantage car rentals in Orlando Fl. BIG MISTAKE. The sales staff was not trustworthy they told us that our insurance carrier was not excepted in Fl. in case of accidents, he also told us they would not rent us a car without there insurance to a total of $600. We have been renting cars from Hertz for many years without a single issue. Advantage is a fly by night outfit I should have read the countless reviews of how bad they are before we rented. On our return flight we met several people from Tampa who had the same complaints as we do about Advantage. Get your act together we give you 4 years before you loose all your client base.

  35. Advantage Car Rentals should be investigated by the Florida Department of Consumer Affairs or the Attorney General. Advantage is practicing deceptive practices with clients, bait and switch practices with others. As An AARP member I plan on using our news letter to pass the word.
Advantage don't mess with the white hairs.

  36. I had to travel to Denver for business. They usually have a limo pick me up from the airport and deliver me when I am leaving. But I thought this time I would rent a car. So our Corporate office booked the rental car for me but did not prepay. when I got to the Advantage "Office" after being shuttled, because I had not prepaid and I don't carry Credit cards, on my debit card she wanted to run $850.00 through on my debit card. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The rental car booked fee states $165.00 So why $850.00?? It was for insurance she told me was required, a full tank of gas they said was cheaper per gallon, and deposits. I told her no I did not have that much available on my card and she said did I want her to try it anyway and I said NO. I did not want to pay the $850.00 even if I had that amount on my card. I asked if I could call my Office and use the Company Credit card to pay for the rental and she said no because it was booked in my personal name. And nothing more she could do for me. WHAT A TERRIBLE COMPANY. I have rented cars before and yes I prepaid but with the same debit card I was going to use at the counter. Now I read the BAD reviews and I understand I am one of many many people who will never use Advantage again.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You will be sorry. I wish I would have read the reviews before going there.

  37. This company is truly a HORROR Story. The company can't even say they offer customer service because the customer has to do all the work. Their agents aren't even professional enough to go out and greet the customer, take them to their cars and then assist them upon return of the car. I think they need a reminder without customers they have no job, it may bring them around to a more pleasant way of business.

  38. Newark Airport Advantage Rentacar is just as bad as the Inglewood, CA, office in the last review. Our plane was 6 hours late due to screwups at Newark Airport, and they had given away the Compact car we reserved, and charged us extra for a larger car: it isn't our fault that Newark Airport doesn't work. It took two different bus shuttles to get to the Advantage office, because the train at Newark is broken (again, that isn't our fault, and we can't predict it, but Advantage can, because they are there). When we came to return the car we found that it was almost impossible to get to the Advantage office. When we rented the car there was a long line, with two, and often only one, employee, and everyone there seemed to enjoy going slower and slower and slower, And you should have seen the crumpled up bit of paper someone produced for us to note the car's condition. And then the person we handed that completed condition report to didn't know where to file it. There were no maps of the area available, and the verbal instructions we were given for getting out of the airport didn't work.

I told them we didn't want any insurance coverage except for damage to their vehicle, but they put on the full package. Altogether our three day rental at $50/day Z($150, right?) turned into $394.24. What a rip-off!!

I will never, ever, rent through Advantage again. Also I will never, ever fly through Newark again: the whole airport and its surroundings are a filthy mess of broken runways, broken trains, broken roads, and broken people.

  39. You have terrible terrible service at the Austin airport. I waited 2 HOURS to rent a car last week since your staff was incompetent and unable to process customers. Busy hassling us over insurance and extra fees. Additionally the desk was way understaffed. Very very unhappy and I will never rent from you again.

  40. Baffled. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Literally no idea what just happened. WORST experience I have ever had with any company, ever... This is a HUGE waste of time, money, etc. The price you pre-pay will be NO here near the price you end up paying. They nickel and dime for everything. When I told the lady I wasn't paying that price and I had already spoken to the manager, she literally took my credit card out of my hand and swiped it WITHOUT my authorization. When she did this two times in a row, and I told her I didn't authorize this, she said it was none of my busines what she was doing with my card. Umm.. what? The people that work here.... beyond terrible. Literally had the cops called in both interactions with 2 different individuals that worked here on two separate occasions. NO customer service. (I know.. I am an idiot for even thinking about going back after the first time... but the manager swore he had it handled for when we came back...negative) Rudest people you will ever encounter. One man that worked there literally walked outside and assaulted my husband. Not even a joke. He walked out, said nothing, got into the vehicle (with my husband inside the car) and grabbed my husband's arm and shirt and ripped the keys away from him. I am not exaggerating. It was dangerous and absurd. Previously, at the counter, after we had paid, (which took over 30 minutes to just get the paperwork done for car that was reserved in advance), the woman put the keys to the car down on the counter and told us to walk around the parking lot pressing the horn button looking for our car. She "didn't have time" to show us where our car was... (literally there was not a soul in sight and no one in line with us). After we walked around and finally found the car, we video taped the vehicle for scratches and such, since she didn't provide us a form to fill out. And as we got inside to check the fuel level and mileage to report it, this man walked up and made his encounter. We were so baffled and worn out by the whole situation, we just left. We called corporate, and we can only hope they will handle this situation in WPB with this advantage rental car. Unbelievable. We should have learned the first time we rented a few days ago, it took over an hour, and the lady at the desk was equally as rude, inappropriate, and condescending, unprofessional. We honestly were so confused by the whole situation, we thought maybe it was a joke. In this encounter, both security and the actual sheriff's office were called. When both showed up, they were well aware of this lady and her causing this trouble many times before. The sheriff became apologetic for her actions and offered to even give us a ride out to find the car. Point is... people are aware, even management (Mark), and yet, they do NOTHING to make it better. They just allow their employees to treat people in the fashion. Do NOT rent from here. Period. You have been warned...

  41. My jaw is dropping. To read even a small percentage of the 41 comments here displayed is really blood-curdling.
My own experience was that Advantage rented me a vehicle with expired plates, if you can believe it. I was exhausted from a long trip and in a state of grief for the passing, two days before, of my Aunt, and so I literally did not see the date on those plates. In any case, when a consumer rents an automobile from a car company, she expects that --at a minimum!-- the vehicle will be legal. I drove this car for ten days before I found out the plates were over a month out of date -- when I was stopped on the streets of Washington, DC by a patrol car who informed me about this disgraceful situation. And then, just as so many consumers here describe, my credit card bill arrived and they want to charge me almost twice the original "estimated charges" quoted by CheapoAir, through whom I made the reservation. A shocking and dreadful experience.

  42. Advantage car rental | credit card fraud

On September 9th I returned a rented Chrysler 200s to your branch in Tampa, FL, settled the due rent using my MasterCard credit card and closed my rent agreement.

The next day - September 10th, your staff illegally used my credit card for their personal purchases without my authorization repeatedly for the total amount of around USD7,000 over 8 transactions.

I have proof that your staff in Tampa have indeed stolen my credit card details and illegally used it for their own personal benefit to make purchases at Macy's, American pawn house, north shore traffic and others.

I'm happy to share more details and evidence of the incident with a representitive from Advantage car rental head office upon request.

I demand an apology and compensation of the total amount in addition to all bank interests & fees up until the time of compensation.

Kindly note that if I didn't hear from you within 3 days from the date of this message I will be forced to take the appropriate legal action to get my money back. Since I work in the media sector, I will do my best to disseminate the facts of this incident to every media channel at my disposal, and to make sure to limit your ability to steal from anyone else again.

Expecting a prompt reply and a positive action from Advantage.

  43. Worst service ever. At MSP, waited 25 minutes to drop off keys. Finally had to leave keys on counter without a receipt in order to make my flight. Renting agent repeatedly misrepresented terms of the agreement. Overcharged me for fuel. You will be hearing more from me, not that you care. I rent every month. Never again with Advantage. My first and last time.
