    1. I'm feeling the same as the customer above! This store is far the rudest ever.. No consideration for the customers @ all. F'ed my paper work and told me "No Big Deal" like really you tell me that! Everybody @ that location needs a Customer Service training do over immediately! Enough said!

    2. My husband is recovering from open heart surgery-Quintuple Bypass.It was an unexpected result for a pre-surgery test that discovered the 5 blocked arteries. After the operation the doctors said that he could benefit from sitting up as much as possible. We did not have a chair at home that was comfortable enough for resting for long periods of time. I shopped for 4 hours trying to locate the perfect chair. I found such a chair called the Eclipse at the Value City in Glen Burnie, Maryland. I also was lucky enough to find the perfect salesman named,Bruce Barr(I hope that he doesn't mind me using his real name in this statement). Mr. Barr and I exchanged our stories concerning his Dad having heart problems and my husband's health problems. I wanted the chair as soon as possible to ensure my husband's comfort. This was Thursday, the earliest delivery was the following Wednesday. Mr.Barr called me on Friday morning & said that he couldn't get my story about my husband's comfort off his mind, so he personally drove down to the warehouse & picked up the chair to be delivered the next day, which was Saturday.I couldn't believe that such kindness existed any more. I personally want to thank Mr. Barr for his courtesy, exceptional professionalism and most of all his kindness in ensuring that this customer and my husband was taken care of. The chair arrived as promised and my husband has been lounging in it most of the days since. The chair is very comfortable and large and my husband is quite happy with it. Thank You Bruce Barr for your generous act of kindness. We will be shopping again at Value City Furniture when Mr. Barr is there.

    4. I paid for the extended warranty an east point pushed me to deal with the glen burnie Md store. They toldme my broken down couch wasn't covered because get this... we sat on it wrong. I complained and they said they would order new stuffing..... 6 no later... no progress. Looks like I will have to sue to get them to do what is right.

    5. That's what the service guy told me about my couch and loveseat! I bought mine at the Sterling Heights store in Michigan. They both lean to the side, and I feel like I have back problems now! It is the worst built furniture I've ever seen! So funny that they tell everyone that it's the way they sit on it! I've owned other living room furniture, and it never leaned to the side like this crappy stuff! It's JUNK!

I feel everyone's horror stories and been there, I'm on my 3rd replacement set and the one I have now that suppose to be leather turned out to be bonded leather and it's bubbling and peeling so I called the store in Calumet City, IL and they told me sorry it's nothing we can do, bulls***! They must've forgot I'm the one who calls CORPORATE on their asses and get the job done! Corporate told me they setup an appt for next week. If you need to get it done call them and complain and report those a**holes in the stores who act like money is coming out of their pockets. The number is 888-751-8552 I hope this helps you all.

    8. In 2010 I purchased a 4 piece leather chair set with a glass table costing almost $1000 . The black base of the table was defective and had a white hole the size of a cantaloupe. It took 4 deliveries for them to get it right. Now,October 27, 2014, the glass table just exploded. No adjustment in heat or air temperature. I purchased a warranty and the leather portion of the chair is covered for 7 years, but the wood was damaged and not covered. Now I am told the glass was only covered for a year. If there is an imaginary clause they need to point it out and therefore, a customer wouldn't purchase a warranty. The customer service rep at the Northlake Illinois VCF was rude over the phone. I asked for the manufacturer's name for the glass table. She refused to give it. Nov. 1, 2014. I went personally into the store. The customer service rep again refused to give me the information and began speaking in Spanish to the other rep. If you are going to sit in a person's face and talk rudely at least speak ENGLISH.

    9. Worst company I have ever dealt with for customer service. Delivery is a disaster, god forbid they screw up your order of delivery. Dealing with the management is a nightmare. They don't return calls and have not concern. The forgot the headboard in the original delivery and then when they did get it to us if was messed up. 2 weeks dealing with idiots.

      We finally ended up telling them to come get everything and close our account. Next time I will do my home work and do some research first. The reviews everywhere for almost every location is bad. The customer service issue is company wide issue from corporate down.

    10. I will never buy any furniture from Value City ever again. They are very unprofessional and unorganized with my delivery! Had my mom waiting 2 hrs when they said they would be there in 10 min. I was given the runaround by three customer service reps including Edgar who says hes a manager. Never dealt with a company like this one absolutely terrible. Hope they go out of bussiness!

    11. I would always use City Furniture. However, I would never ever buy from them again. They have furniture that is so expensive but poor quality. Then you email corporate manager customer service and they do not reply. I have spent over 10 gs with them. City Furniture you lost a faithful customer. I will go to El Dorado from now on.

  2. This company is horrendous. I ordered an item. But it turned out to be a computer glitch. Delivery day I got the wrong item. The advertisement online was a sofa but for the price of another item. I called the manager and he was a jerk. I directed him to the sight because the add is still currently running. He said VCF is not responsible for computer glitches. I ordered a table. I was to be delivered, but it broke before delivery! This company is beyond awful.

  5. You have beautiful furniture. I fell in love with a particular bedroom set that you use to offer and I think it did come back at least twice. Is there anyway possible that the "VALENCIA" four poster bedroom set with the Marble counter tops will ever come back? I've inquired at your various stores, and it seems I'm not the only one who likes it. Please give us another chance to get that bedroom set once again. Thanks!!! SIGNED - HOPEFUL

    2. VCF needs to be out of business. We have to take to social media and tell all that will listen about this company. I bought a table/chairs set...I never received my fourth chair, finally, only after sending a complaint to the BBB they came to pick up the table. I am still fighting to get all of my money refunded. I hate value city and i will NEVER patronize them again! I would rather go to a thrift store than to purchase from VCF.

    3. I too am having issues with them and I will be contact BBB today myself. I plan to go to every aspect I can for being treated horribly and after 4 attempts still do not have a dresser that is not flawed.

    4. I have had a horrible experience with the Gurnee, Illinois VCF location. The sales rep lied about the delivered broken item I receivedand them repairing or replacing it. The guy Tom kept me on hold for twenty minutes, forgot I was holding hung up the phone. I called back only to be lied to again after spending a thousand plus in their store. This is horrible customer service I dont plan on patronizing them again! I will let others know how my harmony was ruined and no one tried to rectify the situation. Disappointed customer!

Bought a bedroom set minus the chest...Went back to inquire about their 50% off to purchase the chest and the sales rep was anything but nice..Spoke to the manager today and he tells me that the rep is #2 sales person and he would have to overlook my complaint.I said the sale was misleading and he told me that once a year there are 2 complaints, so far you are #1 and he is now waiting for the second complaint to come in..Manager was no better than the rep...My daughter bought furniture there quite a few times and the last time she ordered it was promised to her then re-promised and she cancelled...I bought a couch 2 years ago and then purchased a bedroom set...Was looking to purchase the chest but will not do business with Value City again....By the way, the store i'm talking about is in Toms River, New Jersey (route 37 west)...

    2. I spent almost 600 dollars on a chair and ottoman at VALUE CITY FURNITURE and was also talked into buying a 5 year protection plan. The salesperson told us that everything was covered. Their words were, its great, if you spill nail polish or food on it or if your pet goes to the bathroom on it whatever it is its covered, if the cushions wear out or crush down their covered, the only thing not covered is if your pet chews it. So we purchased what was called a 5 year protection plan. We have had the chair for less than two years when this process started. we purchased it on 2-4-12 and it was delivered on 3-17-12. The chair was getting pretty dirty looking and the cushions were wearing out and crushed down horribly. I called the warranty department in the middle of January of 2014. They told me immediately that the stuff i was describing was not covered. I said thats not what the salesperson said. So they sent a technician out on 1-24 to look at the chair. he took 4 0r 5 pictures with his cell phone and said we should be hearing from someone in the beginning of next week. Well today 2-11-14, I had still not heard from them so i finally call them and when i told them that i had not heard from them yet they lied and said that someone had called here when they did not and they told us that nothing that was wrong with the chair would be covered and that was that.They told me that i should have called at the very first dirt spot and that i should have called within the first year for the cushion. So why is it a 5 year protection plan!? I called value city and spoke to them several times and the ending result is that they will not do anything about the chair. I could understand that if I did not buy the warranty, but I did buy the warranty because of what they said it covered and they lied. Nothing that they told me was true!! What exactly did I purchase this warranty for if it did not cover anything that the salesperson told me it covered!!!! This was not cheap furniture! And i took the salesperson at their word! This is a bad business practice and someone should put a stop to this. Its not right to lie to a customer to get them to purchase something and then everything the customer was told turns into a lie!!

    3. Unfortunately you left you left out the truth. VCF doesn't offer a 5 year warranty plan, it's 7yr fabric and 3 yr construction and each is a separate cost. It is obvious that your a heavy person that is why your cushion are crushed and it's dirty because you don't clean your furniture. They didn't honor anything because what you are describing is abuse and neglect and the warranty doesn't cover that. You never take anyone at thier word. Fabric information and EPP information is given to you. It's not VCF fault if you didn't read it.

    4. I was also told I had a 5 yr plan so the only person lying is you. I bought my furniture 2 yrs ago and was told its great if you have young kids. No one in my family is over weight the furniture was defective. When I called to make a claim the sales rep told me about the 7yr fabric and 3 yr construction plan. They denied me because they said they couldn't recognize what the stains were on the leather. You probably work for the company and its your job to spread lies in order to protect this corrupt company.

    5. There is no need to be defensive. Unfortunately you didn't ask for the information in writing and that was your fault. My line of work is in the legal field. If you went before a judge you would need concrete proof. Not he said, she said. VCF is not a corrupt company, they gave you what you wanted, the best value for what you could afford. Now how is it there fault you abused your furniture? And because the refused to do what you wanted them to do there a bad company. You should have called at the first sign of a problem, I'm sure you were working or very busy running your household. In any case remember not all sales people are out to deceive you all warranties are optional take 10 minutes to review ask questions. Just my opinion

Value City Furniture located at 37 west, Toms River, NJ is a horrible place to shop...Went to inquire about a 5 drawer chest which was on sale for 50% off (not) Misleading...Spoke to a rep and he was rude...Went to complain today to the Manager and I said the sale was misleading and he told me that once a year there are 2 complaints, so far you are #1 and he is now waiting for the second complaint to come in...He also said he would have to overlook talking to the sales person as he is the # 2 salesperson in the store..(I'd hate to see what the #1 sales person is like) (He too is unprofessional)...My daughter shops at Value City all of the time but will not anymore as they mislead her...I will not shop there anymore either...They totally lost our business...

  13. THIS STORE IS LOCATED AT 8310 S. CICERO BEDFORD PARK IL. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! ORDER A SET 20 DAYS PRIOR TO PICK UP. 20 DAYS LATER IM THERE AND THEY DONT HAVE IT READY! THEY DID NOT LET ME KNOW THEY MOVED THE DAY TO NEARLY A MONTH LATER. THAT MAKES IT ALMOST TWO MONTHS TO HAVE IT AT THE STORE. SPOKE TO WILL (MANAGER) AND REALLY COULDN'T EXPLAIN ANYTHING TO ME. I KNOW THINGS CAN DELAY SOMETIMES, BUT TWO MONTHS IS JUST CROSSING YHE LINE.

  14. Holy Crap, I am so pissed off. It is getting worse. I purchased a Microfiber couch from the Value City near the Louis Joliet Mall on RT.30 in Joliet. The couch is of Cheap Quality, which I expected. It cost me almost $ 2,000.00. I was given a $100.00 gift card to use at Value City or American Signature Furniture. It expied on 11/26/2012. I went in 4 days late. They could not honor it. Their customer service sucks. I was warned not to buy anything at Value city. I should have listened. I will be shopping for furniture from Ashley from now on. I contacted Value city's Corporate office and found that I was talking to a machine, not a real person. Do you homework people. Sometimes the cheapest isn't always the best deal. Sincerely, a former Value City and it's affliates customer.

I brought a table set for my mom and the legs have to be screwed in everyday the chair legs split and it's been seven months and they just calling saying they have the wrong legs for the chair value city furniture suck I will never get anything from them again .they seem to do this so the warranty can expire !

    1. ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Spent $3,000 on furniture in July 2013, now end of September and still don't have all my furniture. They have promised and promised, lied and lied about delivery dates. For the second time, we spent 7 hours at home waiting for a delivery. They even called after the 4 hour window and said it would be another hour, but nothing. At 9:00 PM no calls, no delivery. Next day? No calls either. I have been calling the store for 4 days and manager won't take or return my calls.

      They also will not come get the other furniture that I ordered. I wanted to do a package deal due to financing, but since there's nothing "wrong" with the other furniture, they will not pick up and credit.

      3 months for furniture, really????

      I just want to be done with Value City Furniture - Customer Service Line is NO HELP and the lady I spoke to was RUDE RUDE RUDE.

      When you call the corporate office, they transfer you to the customer service line. So you really can not get ANYWHERE with these people. It has taken a lot of my time (every day since July 12) of making calls, visiting the store, trying to find another piece of furniture that i liked (which i didn't)....

      What a headache and disappointment. Did I mention that the store manager Justin, will now NOT call me back?

BEWARE OF LAYFAYETTE RD VALUE CITY IN INDIANAPOLIS INDIANIA BOUGHT A COUCH LAST YEAR AND THE WOOD PIECE BUCKLED TOOK 4 MONTHS TO GET SOMEONE TO COME FIX MY COUCH NO ONE IN THE OFFICE HAS ANY CLUE OF WHAT THERE DOING. BUT OWE THEM A PAYMENT AND THEY CAN FIND YOUR FILE. THE NEXT NOV MY ARM OF MY COUCH BUCKLED NEVER MIND THE BOTTOM IS FRAYING AND STAPLES ARE HANGING OUT . IT HAS NOW BEEN 2 MONTHS TRYING TO GET IT FIXED . WHEN THE SERVICE PEOPLE CAME TO GET MY COUCH I THOUROUGHLY WENT THREW EVERYTHING THAT NEEDED TO BE FIXED THEY IN THE PROCESS TOLD ME WHO EVER SERVICED MY COUCH BEFORE DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE SPRINGS ARE BROKE. THEY KEPT IT FOR A WEEK AND BROUGHT IT BACK WITH THE SPRINGS BROKE AND CAN'T FIGURE out why they think they shouldn't give me a new couch with all the problems with this one. I have given them about 1,945.00 of my money and they think i should start a new contract if i get a new couch and start payments over........ i will stand in front of there establishment with a sign to let them know it's not right to rip people off that work hard for there money

  19. Waldorf, MD location! Customer Service beyond awful. Paid for and ordered $950 worth of furniture. Told them I would pick it up. Was delivered to their store yesterday and I'm being told it needs to be picked up by this Thursday. Well it's been raining here for days and is supposed to rain tomorrow. I called and asked if I could just pay for and schedule for the delivery, as I do not have a covered truck. I was told I would have to COME INTO the store to pay for the delivery and could not provide my credit card over the phone. Worst customer service ever.

  21. I'm lost for words. I just had a service call for a sectional I purchased at the VCF in Liverpool, NY. The tech was extremely rude and stated he had no idea why my couch was sinking in some areas. He added more stuffing to one cushion but wouldn't do the other two. I told him it looks odd with one cushion stuffed and the other two pretty flat. He said he didn't know why it was sinking and told me to call the store and walked out. I called the store and the operations manager was extremely rude. I've never experienced such nasty service from a vendor.

I am frequently assaulted by the horrible tinny abrasive music and then, Oy My GOD, on presidents day you have these ridiculous people dressed up like Lincoln and Washington, and, I won't even call it dancing, they look like they are having seizures.
    PLEASE, get an ad that has some appeal. I wouldn't buy your furniture just on principle.

  23. I have no issue with customer service, mine is regarding the quality of product. I purchased a 699.00 power recliner one week ago today and last night it stopped working. I found an electrical short. I called to set up a return date. I will not take a replacement. VCF manufactures some or most of their own furniture which cuts out the middle man leaving them with more profit. Based on the performance of this recliner I would have to say the fourth generation family owner has put profit about product quality. Sorry to say I will take my business elsewhere.

  24. I went to the VCF in Chesapeake, VA to purchase a childrens bedroom set for my daughter. I am in the process of buying a house and was not planning on moving in until beginning of April. I asked the sales associate if I purchased the furniture that day would they be able to hold it until there until I was ready for it to be delivered, she tells me yes but its not guaranteed that when I came to pick up my furniture it would still be there. She informed me that if a customer came in and wanted the same furniture set I had already purchased and wanted it sooner than I did that they would sell them my bedroom set! I was outraged at the very thought of that obsurd gesture! How unfair is it that you sell MY furniture that I have paid for to another customer just because there delivery date was sooner than mines, and then proceed to tell me that I would just have to get a refund or pick out another set of furniture! Of course I decided not to buy ANY furniture from there! And I dont plan on ever going there again with those type of specifications!
