    2. My husband is recovering from open heart surgery-Quintuple Bypass. It was an unexpected result for a pre-surgery test that discovered the 5 blocked arteries. After the operation the doctors said that he could benefit from sitting up as much as possible. We did not have a chair at home that was comfortable enough for resting for long periods of time. I shopped for 4 hours trying to locate the perfect chair. I found such a chair called the Eclipse at the Value City in Glen Burnie, Maryland. I also was lucky enough to find the perfect salesman named,Bruce Barr(I hope that he doesn't mind me using his real name in this statement). Mr. Barr and I exchanged our stories concerning his Dad having heart problems and my husband's health problems. I wanted the chair as soon as possible to ensure my husband's comfort. This was Thursday, the earliest delivery was the following Wednesday. Mr.Barr called me on Friday morning & said that he couldn't get my story about my husband's comfort off his mind, so he personally drove down to the warehouse & picked up the chair to be delivered the next day, which was Saturday.I couldn't believe that such kindness existed any more. I personally want to thank Mr. Barr for his courtesy, exceptional professionalism and most of all his kindness in ensuring that this customer and my husband was taken care of. The chair arrived as promised and my husband has been lounging in it most of the days since. The chair is very comfortable and large and my husband is quite happy with it. Thank You Bruce Barr for your generous act of kindness. We will be shopping again at Value City Furniture when Mr. Barr is there.

I complained and they said they would order new stuffing..... 6 no later... no progress. Looks like I will have to sue to get them to do what is right.

    5. That's what the service guy told me about my couch and loveseat! I bought mine at the Sterling Heights store in Michigan. They both lean to the side, and I feel like I have back problems now! It is the worst built furniture I've ever seen! So funny that they tell everyone that it's the way they sit on it! I've owned other living room furniture, and it never leaned to the side like this crappy stuff! It's JUNK!

    6. Would NEVER shop here again!! Very dissatisfied!! Wish I would have read some of these reviews first!! :( Tired of getting nowhere with this company. Time to call the states attorney's office I'm sure they will have better results than I'm getting.

  2. This company is horrendous. I ordered an item. But it turned out to be a computer glitch. Delivery day I got the wrong item. The advertisement online was a sofa but for the price of another item. I called the manager and he was a jerk. I directed him to the sight because the add is still currently running. He said VCF is not responsible for computer glitches. I ordered a table. I was to be delivered, but it broke before delivery! This company is beyond awful.

  5. You have beautiful furniture. I fell in love with a particular bedroom set that you use to offer and I think it did come back at least twice. Is there anyway possible that the "VALENCIA" four poster bedroom set with the Marble counter tops will ever come back? I've inquired at your various stores, and it seems I'm not the only one who likes it. Please give us another chance to get that bedroom set once again. Thanks!!! SIGNED - HOPEFUL

    2. VCF needs to be out of business. We have to take to social media and tell all that will listen about this company. I bought a table/chairs set...I never received my fourth chair, finally, only after sending a complaint to the BBB they came to pick up the table. I am still fighting to get all of my money refunded. I hate value city and i will NEVER patronize them again! I would rather go to a thrift store than to purchase from VCF.

      Delete
    3. I too am having issues with them and I will be contact BBB today myself. I plan to go to every aspect I can for being treated horribly and after 4 attempts still do not have a dresser that is not flawed.

    4. I have had a horrible experience with the Gurnee, Illinois VCF location. The sales rep lied about the delivered broken item I receivedand them repairing or replacing it. The guy Tom kept me on hold for twenty minutes, forgot I was holding hung up the phone. I called back only to be lied to again after spending a thousand plus in their store. This is horrible customer service I dont plan on patronizing them again! I will let others know how my harmony was ruined and no one tried to rectify the situation. Disappointed customer!

Bought a bedroom set minus the chest...Went back to inquire about their 50% off to purchase the chest and the sales rep was anything but nice..Spoke to the manager today and he tells me that the rep is #2 sales person and he would have to overlook my complaint.I said the sale was misleading and he told me that once a year there are 2 complaints, so far you are #1 and he is now waiting for the second complaint to come in..Manager was no better than the rep...My daughter bought furniture there quite a few times and the last time she ordered it was promised to her then re-promised and she cancelled...I bought a couch 2 years ago and then purchased a bedroom set...Was looking to purchase the chest but will not do business with Value City again....By the way, the store i'm talking about is in Toms River, New Jersey (route 37 west)...

    2. I spent almost 600 dollars on a chair and ottoman at VALUE CITY FURNITURE and was also talked into buying a 5 year protection plan. The salesperson told us that everything was covered. Their words were, its great, if you spill nail polish or food on it or if your pet goes to the bathroom on it whatever it is its covered, if the cushions wear out or crush down their covered, the only thing not covered is if your pet chews it. So we purchased what was called a 5 year protection plan. We have had the chair for less than two years when this process started. we purchased it on 2-4-12 and it was delivered on 3-17-12. The chair was getting pretty dirty looking and the cushions were wearing out and crushed down horribly. I called the warranty department in the middle of January of 2014. They told me immediately that the stuff i was describing was not covered. I said thats not what the salesperson said. So they sent a technician out on 1-24 to look at the chair. he took 4 0r 5 pictures with his cell phone and said we should be hearing from someone in the beginning of next week. Well today 2-11-14, I had still not heard from them so i finally call them and when i told them that i had not heard from them yet they lied and said that someone had called here when they did not and they told us that nothing that was wrong with the chair would be covered and that was that. They told me that i should have called at the very first dirt spot and that i should have called within the first year for the cushion. So why is it a 5 year protection plan!? I called value city and spoke to them several times and the ending result is that they will not do anything about the chair. I could understand that if I did not buy the warranty, but I did buy the warranty because of what they said it covered and they lied. Nothing that they told me was true!! What exactly did I purchase this warranty for if it did not cover anything that the salesperson told me it covered!!!! This was not cheap furniture! And i took the salesperson at their word! This is a bad business practice and someone should put a stop to this. Its not right to lie to a customer to get them to purchase something and then everything the customer was told turns into a lie!!

    3. Unfortunately you left you left out the truth. VCF doesn't offer a 5 year warranty plan, it's 7yr fabric and 3 yr construction and each is a separate cost. It is obvious that your a heavy person that is why your cushion are crushed and it's dirty because you don't clean your furniture. They didn't honor anything because what you are describing is abuse and neglect and the warranty doesn't cover that. You never take anyone at thier word. Fabric information and EPP information is given to you. It's not VCF fault if you didn't read it.

      Delete
    4. I was also told I had a 5 yr plan so the only person lying is you. I bought my furniture 2 yrs ago and was told its great if you have young kids. No one in my family is over weight the furniture was defective. When I called to make a claim the sales rep told me about the 7yr fabric and 3 yr construction plan. They denied me because they said they couldn't recognize what the stains were on the leather. You probably work for the company and its your job to spread lies in order to protect this corrupt company.

Value City Furniture located at 37 west, Toms River, NJ is a horrible place to shop...Went to inquire about a 5 drawer chest which was on sale for 50% off (not) Misleading...Spoke to a rep and he was rude...Went to complain today to the Manager and I said the sale was misleading and he told me that once a year there are 2 complaints, so far you are #1 and he is now waiting for the second complaint to come in...He also said he would have to overlook talking to the sales person as he is the # 2 salesperson in the store..(I'd hate to see what the #1 sales person is like) (He too is unprofessional)...My daughter shops at Value City all of the time but will not anymore as they mislead her...I will not shop there anymore either...They totally lost our business...

  14. Holy Crap, I am so pissed off. It is getting worse. I purchased a Microfiber couch from the Value City near the Louis Joliet Mall on RT.30 in Joliet. The couch is of Cheap Quality, which I expected. It cost me almost $ 2,000.00. I was given a $100.00 gift card to use at Value City or American Signature Furniture. It expied on 11/26/2012. I went in 4 days late. They could not honor it. Their customer service sucks. I was warned not to buy anything at Value city. I should have listened. I will be shopping for furniture from Ashley from now on. I contacted Value city's Corporate office and found that I was talking to a machine, not a real person. Do you homework people. Sometimes the cheapest isn't always the best deal. Sincerely, a former Value City and it's affliates customer.

    1. ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Spent $3,000 on furniture in July 2013, now end of September and still don't have all my furniture. They have promised and promised, lied and lied about delivery dates. For the second time, we spent 7 hours at home waiting for a delivery. They even called after the 4 hour window and said it would be another hour, but nothing. At 9:00 PM no calls, no delivery. Next day? No calls either. I have been calling the store for 4 days and manager won't take or return my calls.

They also will not come get the other furniture that I ordered. I wanted to do a package deal due to financing, but since there's nothing "wrong" with the other furniture, they will not pick up and credit.

      3 months for furniture, really????

I just want to be done with Value City Furniture - Customer Service Line is NO HELP and the lady I spoke to was RUDE RUDE RUDE.

When you call the corporate office, they transfer you to the customer service line. So you really can not get ANYWHERE with these people. It has taken a lot of my time (every day since July 12) of making calls, visiting the store, trying to find another piece of furniture that i liked (which i didn't)....

What a headache and disappointment. Did I mention that the store manager Justin, will now NOT call me back?

Was delivered to their store yesterday and I'm being told it needs to be picked up by this Thursday. Well it's been raining here for days and is supposed to rain tomorrow. I called and asked if I could just pay for and schedule for the delivery, as I do not have a covered truck. I was told I would have to COME INTO the store to pay for the delivery and could not provide my credit card over the phone. Worst customer service ever.

  20. And if you contact the CORPORATE OFFICE phone number to file a complaint on a specific branch of VCF, you will be prompted to leave a message so someone calls you back. Guess who calls you back... that's right! The same store that you called Corporate to complain about.

  21. I'm lost for words. I just had a service call for a sectional I purchased at the VCF in Liverpool, NY. The tech was extremely rude and stated he had no idea why my couch was sinking in some areas. He added more stuffing to one cushion but wouldn't do the other two. I told him it looks odd with one cushion stuffed and the other two pretty flat. He said he didn't know why it was sinking and told me to call the store and walked out. I called the store and the operations manager was extremely rude. I've never experienced such nasty service from a vendor.

I am frequently assaulted by the horrible tinny abrasive music and then, Oy My GOD, on presidents day you have these ridiculous people dressed up like Lincoln and Washington, and, I won't even call it dancing, they look like they are having seizures.
PLEASE, get an ad that has some appeal. I wouldn't buy your furniture just on principle.

  23. I have no issue with customer service, mine is regarding the quality of product. I purchased a 699.00 power recliner one week ago today and last night it stopped working. I found an electrical short. I called to set up a return date. I will not take a replacement. VCF manufactures some or most of their own furniture which cuts out the middle man leaving them with more profit. Based on the performance of this recliner I would have to say the fourth generation family owner has put profit about product quality. Sorry to say I will take my business elsewhere.

  24. I went to the VCF in Chesapeake, VA to purchase a childrens bedroom set for my daughter. I am in the process of buying a house and was not planning on moving in until beginning of April. I asked the sales associate if I purchased the furniture that day would they be able to hold it until there until I was ready for it to be delivered, she tells me yes but its not guaranteed that when I came to pick up my furniture it would still be there. She informed me that if a customer came in and wanted the same furniture set I had already purchased and wanted it sooner than I did that they would sell them my bedroom set! I was outraged at the very thought of that obsurd gesture! How unfair is it that you sell MY furniture that I have paid for to another customer just because there delivery date was sooner than mines, and then proceed to tell me that I would just have to get a refund or pick out another set of furniture! Of course I decided not to buy ANY furniture from there! And I dont plan on ever going there again with those type of specifications!

  35. WOW!!! I feel so bad that almost all the stories on here are bad. I work at VCF and I take pride in assisting customers with problems they experience. Sometimes I can help and others times I am truly limited in the assistance I can provide. Please just know that not all Value City Employees are rude or inconsiderate. Most of us do care and the Company as a whole really relies on the fact that most times we can accommodate our customers. Granted, sometimes the manufactures put us in REALLY bad situations where we have to wait on furniture parts/items. But we try! We are not perfect, but we strive to be the best in this furniture business.

Then when the order was called in by the counter sales clerk some rude person at headquarters denied our request just like the people before us. So we Paid in cash just like the couple before us. I don't understand why they could just have gave me another couch that worked. I will never spend another dime at any value city store again and everyone I meet will be told of my story. I will be contacting the BBB to log a complaint also. I don't know how much money you spend on advertising but I do know would of mouth is the best.

    1. I have been waiting 4 months for a part for a piece of furniture that was damaged when it was delivered. I just called again today and still no part. I also feel that they could have given me a new sectional chair. I also see comments that one chair of the sectional is leaning. I noticed the same thing for a sectional that I have had less than 4 months. I guess I didn't do my homework. Never again will shop at this store.

  42. After reading all these Anonymous comments, I'm wondering what might happen to me. However, I'm writing to commend Karmon Coleman-Johnson, Merchandise Manager at the Broad Street VCF store in Richmond, VA. She had excellent customer service skills and was very accommodating with my purchase and partial return on the day I picked up. Linda Huckstep

I can almost bet no one from headquarters or the owner of the vcf company cares about any complaint being made. I recently made complaints on furniture I have bought, over $3000 worth once all added up. The latest purchase was just shy of $600.00 The table was very poorly assembled and loose, and they delivered a chair with clearly visual stains all across the back of the chair. Then to top it off I go to sit in one of the chairs and literally fell straight back and out of extreme fear, I managed to catch the table and wall to prevent myself from hitting my head on the edge of the wall. Now, I only had this furniture 2 days. I called in and the best response was we will send you another chair " I mean what you want us to do about", wow now that's customer service at it's finest. But they don't have a problem with taking your money fast and being polite up until they get it.

BROUGHT TWO CHAISE INSTEAD OF CHAISE AND SOFA. THEY TOOK THE TWO CHAISE AND USED FURNITURE BACK AND PROMISED A DELIVERY OF THE NEXT WEEK.....VCF IS A DECEIVING COMPANY. I COMPLAINED SO MUCH THAT THEY THOUGHT BRINGING ME USED FURNITURE WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF BED BUGS WOULD QUIET ME DOWN. THAT DID NUTHIN BUT PISS ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AFTER FOUR MONTHS I FINALLY RECEIVED MY BRAND NEW FURNITURE. I WILL TELL ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF MY EXPERIENCE AND I WILL BE CONTACTING BBB, AND ALL THE NEWS STATIONS IN DETROIT..IE- PROBLEM SOLVERS, RUTH TO THE RESCUE ETC!

  49. II was deceived by the Indianapolis North store when I purchased five thousand dollars of thier top of the line furniture.
The delivery people smashed holes in my walls and scared the furniture, not to mention what it did to my walls.
This purchase was made with cash and when I telephoned the store manager to advise him of what happened,
The manager stated that it was the delivery companys problem. When I made the purchase, I was supposed to be given
A certificate for a free TV or tablet at Best Buy. Over a month has gone by with no certificate for a TV or tablet,
Walls still have holes in them and Value City could care less. It is time to stop this company cold in thier tracks
I am currently consulting with an attorney to file a massive class action law suite against Value City for unfair business practice and false advertisement. I will also solicit the assistance of the Indiana Attorney Generals Office to revoke Value Citys charter to do business in Indiana. This is for the local manager Cody, I hope you have an attorney because I am bringing a personal endeverment litigation against you. My attorney will be contacting several of you very soon to determin e your interest in the class action litigation. Hey Value City, we gave you weeks of chances to make this better, now it will cost you dearly. YOU CAN THANK YOUR MANAGER CODY.

  50. We also, tried to post our VCF complaint as to defective furniture rec'd and the problems we are undergoing in an attempt to have their service dept resolve the issues. Simply put, we purchased a bedroom set in which the drawers in the dresser/chest/platform bed do not fit. We accepted delivery on their assurance that they would take care of the problems at our convenience. This, however, was not the case. We are now working with our credit card company to dispute the purchase due to the defective merchandise. We tried to post a more detailed and comprehensive posting but unfortunately, this site would not accept it as it was too long. Our complaint is with the VCF location on Chippewa in St Louis. A complaint was also sent to VCF corporate offices but to the nature of the postings on this site nothing will probably happen.

  51. I am a customer for the store in Lanham, MD. This was my first time purchasing anyting from Value City Furniture. II purchased a bed, sofa, chair and dining set in June 2013. The first dining table delivered warped within the first week, another was delivered and it is looped in the center and the seam of the table is coming apart. A rep came out and looked at the furniture Aug 16th. I explained to the customer service rep that i was not pleased with the furniture and want to exchange for another table (since you can only get store credit). I was told they do not exchange, they repair. After a 2 days from not hearing from anyone I called and was told the the individual responsible for reviewing the paperwork was on vacation. The following Monday, i still had not heard from anyone so I called back. On the second call i was told they had no space for additional furniture and would let me know when someone can come and pick it up. I called again to ask when someone was coming to repair the furniture, i was then told that they will deliver another table on the 18th of Sept. We will see.

  52. VCF - Passed up A $5500.00 Order - So they're doing well enough to turn down money which may explain why they're rude. So I Went To: "Art Van, Cort Furniture and Gardner White Instead!"

I have six Apartment Complexes within the Detroit Metropolitan Area. This year we will be furnishing (5) corporate suite at each location costing.... at the very least approximately $5,000 a unit. I went shopping for my first unit this past week. Today I spoke to Valarie at VCF corporate office and she whimsically without batting an eye.... lost the potential to have sold $150,000 worth of furniture over the next 12 month period.

During my attempt to order furniture to furnish one of our corporate suites. I went to the Westland VCF location off of Warren and Newburgh Rd spoke with Marlena and she helped me select a few items. I explained I was applying for a corporate account and would need to fill out the applications for the company. She had to keep going to speak to someone in the back to try an figure out what to do.

However, at the end of the process she stated we can't run a corporate applications here with a tax ID we must have a social security number, therefore you'll need to call 866-396-8254 GE Capital to set up you corporate account or call center the number I have provided you, which was an India call center. So I call them and explained the process they gave me another call center in India 800-292-7508 which was Collections Department, they in turn gave me another number 800-333-1071 yes you guessed it another call center also in India. They couldn't help either....so they gave me 800-333-1082.

I gave up and called the corporate office 1-614-221-9200 which they DO NOT USE the greeting Value City Furniture, because the run several companies through this call center. The operator gave me to a woman named Valarie. I explained the situation and I said well if you didn't accept cooperate applications it would seem your staff would know this instead of sending people on a while egg hunt, when you all don't have eggs. I wouldn't have looked for furniture if they would have informed me of this at the store level. Valarie lightly blew it off that the staff didn't know what to say and apologized as a formality and made suggestions that we could use our corporate credit cards to pay for the furniture, or simply cut a check, as if we didn't know we had those options and needed to be told how to run our business. If we were looking for Cooperate Applications those weren't the options we wanted to make at that time.

However, I made a suggestion as well, which was we'll simply I'll go with another company and Thanked Her For Her Time!

BAD BUSINESS - Plus "WORD OF MONTH ADVERTIEMENT" CAN KILL A COMPANY.... It only takes a matter of time. "Companies like VCF have to come to the realization they work for the public, the public doesn't work for them!" Take your MONEY ELSEWHERE & They'll Get The Picture.

  55. I bought a day bed from one of their stores in Sterling VA in August and was told that one piece was on back order and I will get it on Oct 12. When I received the bed, one of the pieces was broken so I called and was told that both pieces (one on back order and the replacement) will be available for pick up on Oct 12 and they will call me. Well I didn't hear back from the store and called them. The guy who answered the phone told me that the piece on back order has been out of stock for months and don't know why anyone would have told me that it will be available in Oct, it might be available mid-November but nothing can be said for sure. As for the replacement piece the estimated date is Oct 25, but again that's not for sure and can be delayed. Had they been honest in first place and told me that it will take 6 months to complete my order for just a simple day bed, I would had taken my business elsewhere. Very bad experience for a first time shopper, will not recommend anyone to shop at Value City.

  56. I bought a bed from a store in Cheektowaga, NY, Mark Knaus was the salesman. Every time I went into the store they are sitting on the couch talking, not very helpful. I bought the floor model bed and he promised I could pick it up the next day, also promised it would be wrapped in plastic for me so I could load it in my vehicle and not scratch it, I purposely waiting until a few hours after the pickup time so it would be ready. When I arrived it was not ready, they hadn't even taken it apart from the showroom yet, so I had to wait for them to take it apart. When they came out it was not wrapped in plastic and as a result has some scratches now. Terrible service, 2nd rate employees who could care less about people and customer service. Mark Knaus is a 2nd rate salesman.

  61. I made a purchaase at the East Main street location in Columbus Ohio, I will say the sales guy Chris was very nice and helpful. I was scheudule for my furniture delivery on 12/21/2013 between the hours of 12:30pm-2:30pm. I called the delivery warehouse at 2:30pm inquiring if the driver was delayed. The person on the phone stated he had just finshed up this last stop and would be arriving to me shortly. I waited until 3:15pm still no delivery truck. I called and cancelled my order and demanded my $1100.00 be put back on my credit card. The rep stated I would have to wait until the truck arrived back at the delivery warehouse to verify that I didn't actually receive it. The truck finally showed up at my home at 3:30pm, the driver takes his time getting out of the truck cigarette in hand as if he was not an hour late. I told him the order had been cancelled and he could leave. I was very angry at this point, the store didn't bother to call me regarding the late delivery and the driver seem to care less. I see why, when I arrived at the store and spoke with the Manager Scott he was unapologeticand unengaged he had no interest in providing a good customer experience and was not willing to admit any fault. He basically told me I had to wait for the truck to make it back to warehouse as well and provided no other options to rectify the situation. I advised him I would not be charged steak prices and receive hotdog service, and I wanted my money back on the card ASAP. I have not shopped at VCF in 15years and now I see why. I will never purchase anything from them again.

  62. OMG!!!! VCF delivered the wrong color furniture. I showed the delivery guy the color the sofa should be. He agreed it was incorrect. The furniture was not even covered up and has they brought in the ottoman it had rain drops on it. So I called the Sterling Heights store and spoke with Andrea and an hour later had not heard anything back so I had to call them back. They told me there wasn't anything they could do for until the guys returned to the warehouse which would be around 5 pm. VCF was insisted that they brought me the correct color furniture. As if I don't know green from brown. The worst customer servcie ever. They never accepted any responsiblity nor apologize. I was wrong. The manager at the Novi, MI store said since I had refuse the furniture they could not redeliver my furniture the same day and they would not be able to deliver until after the holiday. I asked him why and that SON OF BITCH SAID "BECAUSE I SAID SO". I cancelled that order of $1800 and took my business to ART VAN. I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN IN MY LIFE. Oh bootleg company.!!!!!!!

  63. I purchased a captain's bed for my son. Shortly after purchasing it and still being under warranty, one of the rails broke. A repairman came out to fix but said the rail needed to be replaced. He screwed a couple of boards to it to hold until the new rail came in. I did not hear anything months so I called. They said the bed was discontinued and they couldn't get a replacement rail. They told me to come in and I could pick out a bed that was similar to replace it. The only bed with drawers under it was $300+ more than the bed we bought. So then they said I would have to pay the difference. The manager wasn't available so I said I would come back when he was. Next time I was sent from the store in Valley Station saying the bed came from another store. So I went to that store and basicallyvtreated very rudely by a female manager. The store is no longer at that location by the Louisville Airport. At the time I was unable to locate a national headquarters address to call and was not provided one by the store. As I tried to turn his bed another direction I saw the ugly wood screwed into the rail and so I found this site. I am an OSU supporter and try to buy from those companies who support the Buckets. I have bought numerous pieces of furniture from VC. Since that experience I have bought elsewhere and will do so unless this is ever remedied.

I fortunately also purchased a lifetime warranty. from day 1 I have had nothing but trouble with the recliners. first 2 of them bent when we tried to put them down, someone came out to fix it, the repairman told us it was because of the way I had my living room arranged, and we were sitting on them wrong...BULL....all together they were sent out 3 times, last night the handle on one of the recliners broke so once again I have to call and deal with them....I ask for a replacement but they refused saying " as long as it can be fixed we wont replace it" I will never purchase anything from value city because all they sell is junk>>>>

  65. Dealing with vcf in North Olmsted, Ohio. Service guy tried to fix ottoman wheels and couldn't. Was told to ask him to look at pillows and see if they need replaced. At that time he said yes. Came back a week later to fix ottoman. No pillows, was told by custumer service at store that the pillows were never ordered. After contacting Columbus , pillows were supposedly ordered. Was then told we should receive them before Christmas. No phone calls from them nothing. I called them after Christmas. Now I was told that, they know in November that we were never going to receive them. No one could call ??? Spoke to store manage who aggread to replace our purple sectional. But not the circle chair that we purchased as is because it matched the sectional. Picked out a new set. Delivery was set for Tuesday in January 2014. Delivery day- sofa and chair but no coffee table. It was broken, so the delivery men said that it will be reordered. Called and spoke to manager about problems again. He offered $100. Delivery was again set for Saturday Jan. 18 2014. They brought out coffee table which has a dent and paint around edge that's cracked. Could not find baskets. After other deliveries they returned with baskets.1 Basket was broken.. Heard back from vcf on Monday. Now I'm told that item is discontinued. WOW! I am not happy. Was told that I could receive another. $100. I asked about a chair that they have for $149. If they could throw that in for the trouble I had. Was told no. How many times did we have to go to the store, time after working, stess, gas and staying home to wait for delivery. Needless to say, after always going there for our furniture, I will never recommened them to anyone. Run the other way fast. I am commenting as anonymous, but yes they will know who I am.

  68. We bought a dining table set from the aurora, illinois location on November 1st. At the time we were told we wouldn't get the set until january 24th. Two and half months later we received only the six chairs we bought and were told the table would come february 14th. I called the store as soon as I checked the chairs to let them know that some were damaged and most were wobbly and stained. The person I spoke with apologize and saif that they aould send brand new set with the table and have the first set of chairs taken at that time. On February 14th, we only receoved the table and no chairs were listed on the order and the table was damaged on three of the corners. I called the store back and explained the situation the lady I believe her name was leslie said she wasn't sure ooand would apeak to manager and rhe second manager was coming shortly and would hsave someone call me back. Four hours later, no call, so I decided to call back. I didn't recognize her voice and started explaini g the whole situation again. She wait til I was done and was extremely rude. So I told her five me full refund and come get the table and let me speak to a manager. The manager apologized and said they'll send someone next day. No one wanted to help me nor care that they just lost business. The manager also said they would email me the return info which I still have not recieved. 71. I had a horrible experience with dearborn Michigan i bought a couch 5 years ago with warranty for seven years. I was told that if it was teared or stained or it needed to be restuffed they would do that. So i called customer service to ask about them coming to restuff my couch. This guy was so rude i mean rude he was like there not coming out to do that your warranty doesn't cover that unless its stained, teared. I said thats not what i was told. Your warranty doesn't cover it and no. That was the end of the conversation. I can't believe that we don't have good customer service anymore. I know as customers we can be hard but we are tired of bs when it comes to service we can take our money somewhere else and at that time i was starting fresh i bought everything from there and spend a lot of money. So basically you are telling me that i have to rip my couch and stain it in order for me to use my warrenty that is dumb. If you realize that ur losing money at that location is probably because of that guy on that team. After this experience i will never shop at VCF. I wish i got his name. 3/14/14

  72. Well, it appears Value City Furniture Customer Service is pathetic all over, especially in Mechanicsburg PA! Had a sectional sofa delivered March 4th and one the sections was wrong. Contacted their Customer Service Department and that is where the Nightmare began! ONe individual told me the part was there and didn't make it on the truck. Minutes later another individual called from their service dept. and stated that the part never arrived!! There are some serious communication issues there, apparently. Well, told we were supposed to receive the correct part on March 18th. Well, took off work to be there, lost pay for that day and the Delivery folks never showed up. Called the Service department again, one person said that the part didn't make it on the truck, another stated that the part never came in!! Again, more double talk from folks that apparently have no sense of the words, CUSTOMER SERVICE! And lost a day's pay to boot! So, we called the store where we bought it and spoke with the Store Manager. At least he knew the meaning of the words CUSTOMER SERVICE, finally a person with vcf that has some service skills. He then deducted our Delivery charges and we later attempted to make another date for the switch-out of the wrong piece. Unfortunately I had to deal with the Customer Service Department in Mechanichsburg, PA again, another real nightmare in itself! Another date was set up later to switch out the incorrect piece. I also explained to them that I will not take yet another unpaid day off to wait for them. They later called and set up a time frame for today, again when I was at work. I explained to two CSR's that I needed a later time, the second one did note that on the delivery sheet. Well Folks, got hosed again by Value City Furniture! They were here, I was at work!!!! Again contacted VCF Customer Service and again got a line of ignorant double-talk. So now I have to take yet another unpaid day off to wait for these Geniuses to show up again.
I know how things are supposed to go as I spent 13 years in the furniture business and most of it as a Service Technician for some of Value City's competitors. Apparently Customer Service is very low on Value City's priority list, and it really shows!

  74. Falls Church Virginia Store! The worst experience I have ever had to deal with and still on going. I agreed to made a purchase finance with VCF for 5PC kitchen table, and a bed room king side set of total $1,754.95 last year November 21. They deliver the wrong bedroom set and until this day is still in my house. I have told them to come back and take the wrong bedroom set that was deliver when I was not home to confirm after made my first monthly payment December as good faith even though they deliver the wrong set. They acknowledge that it was the wrong bedroom set that was deliver and will try to fix the problem when I came in the store to inform them. January came, no answer or resolutions, but still insist for me to make the monthly payment and I told them I will not make any more payment until they deliver the actual bedroom set that I had agree and pay for with them. Now, when I did not made my January monthly payment, that's when they decided to try to deliver the actual bedroom set that I agreed, but when they came to deliver the right bedroom set as schedule, of course naturally, they don't have the right nuts and screw to put together so I told them take it back until you guys have all the right pieces and nuts/screw for me. Now, I get their internal collection call because I have not made their January monthly payment and they have not deliver the right bedroom set as agree while still going through the hassle of explaining to their unprofessional internal collection peoples as to why I will not make any payment until they deliver what I paid for in the contract. This whole entire experience had been "HELL" and now they are threatening me over the phone they will come out to my house and break in to take the furniture back even if the bedroom set was deliver wrong to my house since I did not made my January payment until they deliver what I paid that's all. today 3/31/2014 I just got a call from my wife while at work a sale manager from the Falls Church VA store came by the house knocking my house door really loud like an earthquake coming thru the neighborhood and when she came down to open the door the sale manager scream at my wife as to why their peoples (Collection) call and we don't pick up and my wife told the VCF manager we don't pick up because we're dealing with bunch unprofessional peoples that don't have their shit together that's why, and if you don't get your ass of my property I will call the police that's when the sale manager threw a stack of papers at my wife stating now they are taken action to take us to court for not making our January monthly payment and ran to her car. If only I had read everyone bad experience with VCF here, I would never come to this store with a ten foot pole and would not wishes even with my worst enemy having to deal with VCF.

I had to call the repair office TWICE to make sure they knew it was to be taken for out of home repairs... yet the guy comes in a normal van and tells us to make another appointment. 79. STORE: CATONSVILLE MARYLAND

THIS STORE SUCKS !!! THEIR SERVICE STINKS WORSE!!! THEIR WARRANTIES ARE ALL BOGUS TOO!! BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS STORE. THEY RATHER LOSE THE CUSTOMER THEN HONOR A WARRANTY. I'M CALLING THE STATE ATTORNEY OFFICE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT THERES A POSSIBLE SCAM GOING ON HONORING WARRANTY ON DEFECTIVE FURNITURE.

  80. Vcf...I have a love seat with nail protruding. Called your Whitemarsh and Eastpoint branches and none was done. Skin tear on a small child visiting. I am contacting my lawyer to deal with you. By the way, I have warranty on seats but am just being neglected. The other sofa springs are out. Your tech took pictures and carried the springs with him. They say 4 months for spare parts to be ordered ... Am going mad. This is the worst service from value city furniture.

  82. I ordered a couch and dresser on May 3, 2014. I was told it would be delivered after the 10 Days passed since I wrote and paid in full with a check. We all know this only takes 24 hours for the check to clear. Then they call me and tell me that the couch is back ordered. Unfortunately, I got a new salesperson who clearly did not know what he was doing, and therefore apologized for his mistake....which we all make! They finally delivered the dresser on June 6th, after being told by this salesperson that the window of delivery was either 8-2 or 12-8..The warehouse called me the night before (which was a recording) that my dresser would be delivered between 9:30 and 1:30...duh! Had to take a whole day off from work. Clearly I am not blaming the salesperson, but the manager of this store for not checking on this salespersons paperwork..etc. The salesperson had only been on the job a week. I am still waiting for my couch, and I guess I will have to take another day off when its finally delivered... I would not recommend this place to anybody....The store is in Green Brook, NJ
