  1. I BOUGHT A NEW TRACFONE TO REPLACE THE TRACFONE I DROPPED AND BROKE. AFTER 5 DAYS AND NUMEROUS CALLS I WAS TOLD THAT THE SWITCH TO THE NEW PHONE WAS SUCCESSFUL. IT WAS NOT, I COULD MAKE CALLS BUT INCOMING CALLS RECEIVED A MSG THAT I WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I WAS ON THE PHONE TO YOUR TECH SUPPORT TONIGHT FOR OVER AN HOUR. I TALKED TO 4 PEOPLE. I HAD TO START OVER WITH EACH NEW TECH PERSON. AFTER ALL THAT TIME THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PROGRAMING ERROR AND IT WOULD NOT BE FIXED UNTIL TOMORROW NIGHT. THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH A MAJOR COMPANY. I HAVE RECOMMENDED TRACFONE TO MANY FRIENDS BUT NOW I WILL BE TELLING THEM ABOUT THE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AWFUL TECH SUPPORT

  2. I too have had problems with two TracFones (Sanyo, LG) and both times have spent many hours on the telephone with an inep customer support. I couldn't get through to the Internet on either phone. Kept getting "connection failed." The reps kept telling me that I was not in a 'strong' location, and that I should go outside my apartment, which I did and still no service. I was wasing my moeny always trying to connect to the Internet and they did not seem to care. BTW I am in NYC, which to my knowledge is supposed to get great reception for other phones except the two I have. I am going to let my money/minutes run out and then get a phone from another company. TracFone is just awful!!

  4. Very Unhappy customerJanuary 25, 2013 at 8:56 PM

I bought your straight talk LG android phone, and an unlimited $45 prepaid card Tuesday Jan. 22, 2013. Your product advertises that they work in the area I live. Your company stated that yes this area is covered, but when I activated the phone with your prepaid card, no signal, no service at all. I do live in a more rural area, but there is a tower 3 miles from my house, AT&T. Your sell reps say your product works off of AT&T towers. After an hour on the phone with your customer service techs, they said "well sorry there is nothing I can do for you, I have to hang the phone up now." The phone did work in the Baton Rouge, and Plaquemine, LA areas, but not in the 70740 zip code area I live in. Even though your techs said yes this is a covered area, and the phone should be working. I brought the phone back on Friday Jan 25, 2013. I did recieve a refund for the phone, but not the prepaid card. The store won't refund my money. When I called your customer service line, once I was hung up on, then I called back they said there is nothing they can do about it. So you can't reund my money for a prepaid card, which I had to buy to activate the phone, that doesn't work in an area, which your techs said it should. But I was getting no signal at all to make or receive phone calls, and you stil cannot refund me my money. That is false advertisement, and stealing. That is a poor and pathetic way to run a company. What am I to do with a $45 prepaid card that I can't use. So you get to keep my money and I am short $45, and still have to get a phone, AT&T, contract, or prepaid, because that's the only thing that works out here. This really isn't fair to your customers. Why can't anything be done about this?

  7. Can't get my old phone number back after your operator made a mistake and stuck me with a different number while switching my old number to my new phone. How hard can this be. I have spent over 10 hours of my time waiting on hold over the last 2 weeks. None of the operators speak proper English and they really don't give a rats behind about the problem that they have caused for me. I'm so very glad to have finally found the phone number for TracFone's Corporate Office Headquarters. I will be calling that number tomorrow to complain and ask for my rightful phone number to be returned to me. I have had that number for over 3 years, I have been a good customer, I will not go down silent and I will receive compensation for all the problems your company has caused for me. I'm not one to give up no matter how long I must persevere.

  8. I am an agent for Simple Mobile Account here in the Philippines and unfortunately, the company who employs me is very unorganized, disrespectful, plays politics and does nothing for their agents. Can someone from the Corporate Headquarters of Tracfone Wireless, Inc take a look into this as we are trying to resolve all our customers issues and concerns but our Quality Assurance Department as well as the Business Unit Manager and Account Coordinators seem to be no use when we ask for support and assistance. I understand all the comments of these customers. I love my job but the company doesn't help us achieve satisfy our customers. They changed the system from SMART Portal to TAS but the agents are not prepared and trained for the job, to handle the system properly and trouble shoot the issues of the customers. If you may take a look on the current situation of Simple Mobile, the calls seemed to be long enough only to Port a number from other carrier. Making payments is too hard for us to do at this time. This is due to no amount of training was provided by your service provider here in Bacolod City Philippines. The management speak of too much for their own advantages but the agents are suffering from their negligences.

  9. I am a 65 yr old retired paralegal. I am computer savvy. I troubleshoot all the time. I do research and am a probono representative for senior citizens. I need my phone to work. I was on the phone 90 minutes. After being walked through everything I had already done successfully the dear Maria said she was going.....................sorry, her English was not her first nor her second language. She would constantly refer back to her script. She didn't know anything about the phones, really. Even the battery take out shot didn't work. Finally I asked for a supervisor. IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT THIS YOUNG LADY FINDS IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT ANYONE HIGHER THAN SHE, YOU SHOULD GO TO WORK HERE. NEVER HAVE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM......I will be calling and tweeting and facebook soliciting at the end of three business days if this problem is not handled immediately. Call me 727-289-9465 and speak English well enough to be understood by an English speaking United States citizen. Everyone got a green card?

  10. I use a cell phone for emergencies only, hence the Tracfone. I load minutes by force every 3-months to keep it activated, even though I never use any of those minutes, and there is no option to pay a smaller fee just for activation and no minutes. Service is sporadic and the battery charge is awful...every time I actually do want to use it, it is DEAD even though I don't keep it turned on. Every time I try to use customer service, they are pathetic.

I decided not to use the phone for SIX MONTHS, not a huge period of time to be inactive. I turned to add more airtime today for an upcoming trip and found out that, when you do not use the phone, they do not just inactive service, THEY KILL YOUR PHONE AND KILL THE SIM CARD. The lady keeps trying to say they can do a new Sim card, well the old one is strapped down Hard with a piece of metal and does not come out, so no you can't. I could understand maybe one year of no-use, but 6 months?! And like I said, they have been getting free money from me since I never actually use the minutes.

Your loss Tracfone. I will be using someone else from now on. Pathetic!

  12. Tracfone is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Whan you're not being hung up on, you are explain the problem over and over to different people whom obviously can't pronounce the English language. You spend hours over the phone and the problem is not resolved. After 13 years of dealing with them, I am switching to any other company other than tracfone. Don't buy one.

  13. We are the having the same problems with our tracphone. everytime we call to get help the People who can not speak english and needs to go back to their own country. doesnt understand that we are having problems with our phone. they are post to send us upgrade phone because we can make out going calls and outgoing txt messages. but we can not recive any. now they have shut off our old phones and transfer all of our information to the new phones. we have not even recived the new one. my sister went to add minutes to hers and we had to call the company and they made her get a new number becauase they decavitated the old ones. every time we call them they keep telling us that the tower are down. for four months they have been down they say that they are awhere that they are down but they wont do anything about it. when we ask if they if they have anyone higher then them, they say oh we are the managers. YOU GUYS NEEDS TO HAVE NEED SUPERVISIOR AND PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND THEY NEED TO SPEAK ENGLISH......... NOT WHAT EVERY COUNTRY THEY ARE FROM. if you dont live in the area you dont know what kind of service you get. i am never getting tracphone again and i am telling people not to get them. you also need to understand what a REFUND IS. you guy suck at what you are doing. if you guys lose business do come crying to us, because we are telling people not to get tracphone because you have CRAPPY SERVICE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR WORTHLESS TIME YOU GIVE PEOPLE......

  15. I have been a tracfone customer for 6-7 years. my old phone had problems with charging, I purchased a new tracfone and activated it after charging it. I told the person who did the transferesd to just transfer the number to the new phone. I was given a new number. I tired calling them about this for 2 days, was transferred to numerous person, the last one a supervisor I had asked for since the regular telemarketer could not answer my question or make the change, she hung up on me. I was transferred to a department which they said could do the change, low and behold he said it was not possible because the number was not available. I got my old phone to work only to find out they did no deactivate it, so that's why I could not get my old number. Made another call, no results they gave me yet another number. And yes I am speaking to a customer service persons who does not speak ENGLISH. If someone in the Corp. office read these comments please fix them. I am going to write the Crop. Office and expect some results.

  17. I wonder if any corporate officer pays attention to these customer service complaints. I have had Tracfone for years and years, and would have switched long ago if you hadn't implemented airtime online purchases. Why would I want to switch? Because EVERY SINGLE time I need to change or upgrade a phone, I have to spend HOURS on the phone and online with your customer service people. NOT ONCE have your employees capably and TIMELY transferred a phone number from one Tracfone to another. It is not sufficient to utilize polite scripts that repeat every request over and over; your employees need to know how to FIX the problems and address your customer's phone needs(and quite frankly, activating a new phone and switching a number between two tracfones shouldn't be difficult for you- it's your business!) Today is August 29; I purchased a new phone on the 26th and requested such a transfer; guess what. I STILL don't have service. Get with the program folks.

  18. I recently purchased the Motorola Deffy for straight talk. The phone lasted less than two months. After three hours on the phone that I could not understand (piss poor English) I was sent a replacement. The replacement lasted less than two days. I have used the Trac phone services for thirteen years. I will go somewhere else now. They refuse to replace the phone with a different phone of the same price. What a way to treat there customers.

Unbelievable! How do you stay in business with the level of CS with your own corporate headquarters? Your 800 number is bad enough, that's why I went straight to the company. Someone had better call me and assure me that you are a company worth staying with. I wish I could fire your receptionist.

  20. All of these experiences are familiar to me, but one would need to multiply them by a factor of 10. They pale by comparison to the 5 hr. debacle I experienced yesterday, which was day 5 of seeking to rectify my situation caused by inept customer service to begin with. I have no phone, no service and 220.00 of minutes I cannot use because my phone does not work. We are working with an attorney now.

  23. I bought a faulty game from Tracfone's website and tried twice to get some help from Tracfone's customer service people. All I got was the run around. The only things I have to show for my dealings with Tracfone are headaches and phones with barely any minutes. To Tracfone management: Retrain your customer service staff. It does not make sense to give crappy service to your loyal customers. Better yet, hire some unemployed Americans and place them in your Customer Service Department. Maybe then I can get my problem resolved with 30 minutes.

  25. I'm with all u guys. I purchased of a new phone online on 8/29/13 and had to return it for numerous reasons. I had no service for 2mos w/all the problems. I must have spoken to a dozen c/s reps to no avail. I retruned the final phone on 9/13/13 and to this date I am still fighting to get my money back. They need to be reported to the BBB of Florida and Consumer Affairs. This is ridiculous. I hope someone from the co. is reading all of this feedback and does something about it.

  26. My wife bought a new Trachphone after her Net 10 went out. She has tried for two week to get a tech that knows something. They have sent her two Sim cards and it still. All she wanted was to have her service transferred phone number and minutes. When she tried to activate it sent only her minutes but no number. She spent 3 hours one night with out success. Then then sent her a new number instead of her old one, and took away the minutes. She has called several times. And the kicker is that her old number appears on her on phone and says inactive although it is not. This has gone back and for too long. And by the way they did not replace the new phone with another one , the sent a refurbished. So her is my ultimatum as I used to work in Consumer :Law for 17 years,. Either that phone is replaced wit a new one, the new one she bought is working by this week end. I will Call the Federal Trade Commission, FCC, and our local State Attorney and deal with them which I have done before.

  27. I dropped a reliable LG phone after 3 years (then being my 2d phone with Tracfone) and the top half ripped off and the tiny copper cable wires between the two halves of the clam shell also ripped away. No image on the screen but the keypad still lighted. I called Tracfone and worked well with the rep after I purchased a new large-button ALCATEL A382G. It is a nice phone - not a clam shell - and so I keyed in my old contact list - it took 30 minutes. This doc includes the names & tel numbers of the 8 MDs I see. It is an important list to have in my cell phone. Two days later, the list disappeared. I called Tracfone and they sent me a new ALCATEL phone with the minutes and old tel # transferred. One week later, after I keyed in my contact list, the list disappeared. I am now waiting for a new SIM card for this phone. I am able to keep my tel # and minutes but will have to activate the phone with the new SIM card and then once again key in my contact list. There is something wrong with this ALCATEL product but I am going to give this one more try. If the contact list disappears agan, I will ask for the refund of my remaining minutes and go to another service. The frustration of repeatedly inputting my contact list and the inability or deliberate avoidance of giving appropriate information to a customer tells me that I should consider leaving Tracfone. To think that Carlos Slim, the founder of this business, is the world's richest man, tells me that he may be just another Bernie Madoff with a better swindle that helps him stay in business.

Customer service??? anther frigging joke. Can't understand and you don't get anywhere...oh wait, yeah you get the opportunity to buy more minutes because they use up all of yours trying to get your issue of buying minutes resolved. The Corporate office in the USA...just an answering service that shoots you right back to oh, Columbia, Phillipines, God only knows. BUYER BEWARE. HSN did not do us any favors with this deal of the day. CARLOS SLIM...I agree; just another swindler! BUY AMERICAN!!!

  29. TracFone is a joke. I received my phone as a gift in October with the triple minutes plan giving me 900 . In January this year I received I had no text available so i purchased the triple plan for 360 Minutes and now on February 5, 2014 I again received the same message no text available. I called their CS number and spent 2 hours on it and had to purchase more. When I asked for a copy of my contract ..guess what, I was told it was against Corporate policy to give me my own information. Plan to contact the BBB and several TV stations that deal with Customer Service problems with large companies. They take your money and then screw you. I might look into a class action suit against these crooks. Going to try and call their corporate office tomorrow but it sound like they will give me the run around.

  30. I purchased a TracFone at the end of 2013I was told I had so many text minutes free and regular phone minutes too all free for about 3 months. The main thing that caught my attention was that the monthly service after all the free minutes and text were up, would only cause $7 a month. Since I am not a regular talker of a I felt this was for me. Well Well to my surprise when I was ready to get the $7 a month service, they told me their was no such service for my phone, I had to change my number to another phone and I kept saying I did that. Well, I have to know when I;ve been had and I plan to report this sleekie company to the United States Department of Federal Communication for FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and MISLEADING the general public!

    1. I had Verizon for 10 yrs and switched to Tracphone with the same number a few yrs back. Upgrading to a LG840G in Nov things were going well, until I was unable to recieve or send calls. The screen gave me a message with a number that the phone was blocked. Called Tracphone, after a long wait and talking was sent over to Teck support with no results and given a case number, then sent to another agent and given another case number, this took almost 3 hours. I was then told another agent would be contacting me wisthin 24 hrs. Then I recieved an e-mail saying the item I requested was already on it's way. Well, I hadn't requested any items, nor did I receive a return call. In came another phone and not the phone that they claimed was defective and wasn't working with the cell tower in my area. I was given 30 days to return the defective phone. Upon trying to activate the new phone I found out they had inactivated the defective phone and in doing so I lost the phone number I had for years and was no longer able to get it back. Plus the new phone they sent to me is mostly a texting phone, which I do not do. I spent another 3 hours trying to correct this and was hung up on. After another call I at least got my minutes transfered to the new phone. This is not a customer friendly company.

  32. Please try a "fax attack": Prepare a fax to the number above requesting a manager/account executive contact you. It will be ignored. Wait 15 minutes and send two copies of the same fax. No response? Wait ten minutes and send four copies; five minutes and send eight, etc. SOON someone WILL call you. Guaranteed.

  34. I have found that Tracfone does an interesting version of bait and switch. They bait you with cool little phones that according to their site will work well in your area. Then you get them home. No service, spotty service, "emergency calls only" "call restriction 34" etc. Help is impossible to get.
Source of the problem is 1. 90% of USA towers are CDMA towers. 90% of the cell phones Tracfone sells are GSM phones. GSM does not play nice with CDMA towers.

Any tracfone that has a model number that ends with a G is a GSM phone. Avoid them if you can.

Now to make matters worse after fighting with Tracfone they will tell you that you need new sim cards... but then send you a new "hand set" that is a refurbished (aka polished turd) that is a downgrade from your previous then expect you understand and like the solution. Folks... that is bait and switch and is illegal in the states...regardless of their "policy"

  35. I have been a happy customer with Straight Talk for a few years, until now. I recently purchased and upgraded my phone with an android phone and upgraded my plan. I should have received the $2.50 discount on my plan because I had the auto refill plan. When I received MSG 54676 thanking me for my payment of $49.47 on April 3 and was confused way the payment was higher than it should have been. I called 1-877-430-2335 and spoke to a few representatives of your company. I was told that I signed up a few days too early to get that discount. If this is the truth than I’m very disappointed in your company and the way you treat your long time customers. At the present time I have stopped my auto refill.
I understand that $2.50 doesn’t seem to be a large amount of money, and I agree with that. I’m taking my time to call and write because I feel a company should respect and be loyal to their customers. I would like to thank you for your time and understanding in this matter.

    Thank You
    And have a great day

After writing this I went to file the complaint Guess what they charge $25.00 to file. What B.S.
