    2. Amazed that Red Roof Inn would keep their name on some of these "hotels". How embarrassing!! If you are not going to have a standard for these hotels then you deserve the backlash.

    3. Ok , where to start.. I work for the United State Government and had to be relocated to California, I found this Red Roof location on Craigslist as they were advertising for $199.00 a week, when I got there it was $305 and some change. Not what they advertised for. Thats not the main issue with me , here is the issue ; a guy that lives there for some time now came up behind my wife and grabbed her butt and pulled her towards him and she screamed for me and I came outside and ran him off, we called the office and 30 minutes later the lady for the office came asked if we were okay then left, an hour or so later the same guy was hiding behind a car and once I walk inside he came out from behind the car and charged at her again. I again ran him off and contacted the office and that time there were neighbors outside that saw this happen and we all ran him off and found out the room number he was in. The next day we requested to talk with management and the manager (general manager) came to talk with us and states hes no harm , hes harmless and I stated no; grabbing a female the way he did is not harmless . She offered to move us to another room and the room she wanted to move us to was nasty, bug infested and was a downgrade from the room we were in. I asked why cant you have him leave as it states in the contract that if someone causes problems they would have to leave, she states she cant make him leave because she would have to evict him. So we stayed in the room and at that time I missed 2 days of work due to safety concerns. The following day the same guy came back with his hands in his pants being very provocative towards my wife and at that time security was on site and saw him and advised the office to call the cops and the office didnt want to so we did. They orderd the guy to not contact us in anyways and theres still pending charges. The office faild to protect us by allowing someone like this stay there. This is not his first time doing this to people and the office knows this as 2 (nice) people that work there and a security guard advised us that management will not do a thing and this guy has set fires to cars, and chasing females around the hotel . This is not a safe place in my eyes. I will be filing a lawsuit and thought its best to tell everyone whats going on there. I also recorded some of this guys actions as he charged at a 65 year old ladtyand I had to stop him, I showed the office that video and they did nothing to protect anyone! The older lady left and found a safer place to stay. As of now my wife are on a do not rent to list because we called the cops and I recored that conversation I had with management to prove what they are doing. ALSO , they say pets stay free and thats not true! The place has bugs, has people outside drinking at night, guys chasing females around that they dont know, office staff that will not help protect there guest and the list goes on! I am reporting this red roof inn to local, state and federal agencies. Protect yourself and family and find another hotel!! I have 10 statements from other guest at this location , recorded events of the way management lies and what they have said, recorded actions of this creepy guy and a police report. This report will be posted to every hotel and travel sites in the United States! We have also been pointed to many other families that has had similar situations as this and if I have to I will help file a class action lawsuit!

    5. I was brought to California as an employee from Western Express orientation is 3 days during orientation Western Express pays for our housing located at the Red Roof Inn 1818 E Holt Blvd Ontario, CA 91761. During my stay at this Red Roof Inn I discovered that owners are professionally killing hotel guest by poisoning the free breakfast, food and beverages sold from vending machines, double sided walls, mirrors, hidden cameras in hotel rooms. The secret entrances are used to enter rooms rob guest of money jewelry anything of major value as well as enter and poison guest food and beverages. Who owns this hotel is unknown it is a franchise and only corporate knows. This hotel has become a Bates Motel and needs to be investigated the owners are hiding in the air vents front entry shooting slugs into innocent guest. There are booby traps set up throughout the entire hotel. I have become a victim of serious food poison I came to the hotel Sunday 03/15/2015 and have had diarrhea since Monday I went to the hospital they diagnosed it food poison. I also wanted to add that hotel owners are sedating guest while sleeping and removing guest organs performed by endoscopic surgery.

    6. OMG! This is THEE worst hotel we've EVER stayed at, and I guess I can kiss my $350 for just TWO FREAKING NIGHTS! The bed was lumpy, and the pillows were flat and useless; the toilet was dirty; there was only ONE wash cloth and NO toilet paper (only the leftover roll on the holder); the bathroom faucet came apart, and the bathroom sink clogged and filled up every time we used it;(my husband had to fix both); Dogs were barking in the middle of the night; the A/C did not work properly; the TV remote buttons kept getting stuck, so it was difficult to change channels; the WIFI was a joke! Never worked right! It kept logging off, and it was just ridiculous. We complained about this and was told that "sometimes when it's this busy, we have problems with the WIFI. If other people complain, then I'll re-set it." WHAT? Really? So, two guests complained about the WIFI and THAT wasn't enough to simply re-set it? WTF? We were SO pissed about all that went wrong with this place after paying $350 for just two nights!!!

  3. My wife and I stayed at Red Roof Inn Monee IL, Worst stay ever. We had a five day reservation left after three. The front desk clerk spoke broken english and understood even less. The TV in the room didnt work, the vanity light did not work. The elevator license read "Holiday Inn Express" and expired six years ago. After complaining and being moved to another room. This one did not have an ice bucket, the a/c unit leaked all over the carpet, no toilet paper holder, main door did not close properly. I informed the front desk clerk, and all he did was smiled and say yes. When I informed him that we were checking out the front desk manager blocked the elevator with his body to keep us from leaving. Is there no regulation on franchises? We slept on a realatives couch that night, best sleep ever.

    1. Are you kidding me, you complain about not having an ice bucket? I told you we would get you one. And the leak wasn't there with the previous guest, so we suspect you had something to do with that. And the foul odor you left behind in that room took days for us to air out, and lots of chemicals. Your lucky I didn't kick your ass at the elevator.

    5. The red roof manager in Ridgeland, Ms has answers that all point any and all fault to the customer. while she also claimed she had to 'clean' and had professional cleaning done to our room...REALLY?? she failed to mention that while we asked for another room (cheaper rates) they kept us in that room...we vacummed because the housekeeper didn't....yes I had my dog, and my two parakeets but I doubt the parakeets were a libility....at least not as bad as all the broken beer bottles in the parking lot that they FAILED to clean up for 3 days....or the windows that you can't see out of.....yet I was bashed online for putting a trip adisor about this hotel.... we were asked to leave and the reasons kept changing....first I had Too large of a dog....then I had too many pets....then I was simply told to leave....Don't ask red roof ANYTHING....the people at the front desk and the managers play mighty than thou and will ask you to leave...then point the blame at you. HORRIBLE place to stay!!

  4. I'd like to know how an entire hotel gets away with having no telephones in any of their rooms? Went to check into your hotel in Hebron, Ohio and was informed at the front desk that there were no working phones in any of the rooms. That's no good for a woman traveling alone. The desk clerk said it had been like that for months. At first I thought he meant just in the room I was going to rent but he said it was all of the rooms. Is that even legal? I was really tired but I had to drive another 30 minutes into Columbus before I could find another halfway decent place to stay. I've never had a problem with Red Roof so this was a shocker.

  6. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Red Roof at the Beaumont, Texas location.(11.11.12_Sunday night) The manager named Ursula Minix was very friendly and took care of everything we needed. We were very impressed with how Ursula handled the staff in a respectful manner. She deserves a raise because of taking care of things in such a caring way, not like some that have a not so friendly manner.

If we need to go to Beaumont again, we'll be staying at this Red Roof location again, in the future!

  7. I checked into the red roof inn in Seatac next to the airport. I left my bags in the room and went next door to get something to eat. When I returned my room was broken into and the door was left ajar. I entered and my cellphone which was left on a charger and my tablet and keypad were gone. The front desk was not helpful neither to me or the police. I immdiately check out and had to sleep in my car with two kids. Never stay at Red Roof inn again.

    1. It's a scam! Something similar happened to my friend who stayed there -- her bag was stolen. Red Roof Inn Management said she would have to subpoena the records to track the keycard room entry log. That's ridiculous! You would think they would want to clear their name and get to the bottom of the matter but of course, this doesn't apply if you're running an inside job theft ring! She filed a police report and is going to write and call the corp office, as well as document other cases online that people have responded to about the Seatac theft ring aka Red Roof Inn. Thank you so much for documenting your experience at this dreadful facility. We have to make them accountable!

  8. I been a long term customer for the 194 Edison, Nj location. The service was great until the change of management under the leadership of the manager name Leon. He was rude to the customer and does not know how to train his new employees who looks like part of his family members. The front desk representative has no knowledge or experience to handle emergency situation and when they were back up on the front desk task that developed a dozen of angry customers. They start yelling at me on the phone when I tried to make a reservations. The manager pick up the my phone call after holding me off for a couple of times where the new employees left off . His start losing his manor and start yelling at me claiming I took up too much time of his employees. I am disappointed on the new management team that I don't believe I will visit this location again if I have other options. I like to inform any of u who a Rte reading this to find other location if you can. The quality level of the inn are not acceptable for their rudeness to the customer and service. Although the facilities were new but it all went down just because the manager don't know the basic principal of hotel management which is customer experience come first if they want business to keep on coming.

  9. My family and I stayed at the Palmdale,ca location.
I am appalled and devastated that the employee's/ management are so unprofessional. As a paying guest who is patronizing their establishment/ franchise I desire / request/ require quality service....THEY HAVE FAILED ME!!!
I am sleep deprived due to construction they they failed to notify me of when checking in prior to it beginning 9;00 a.m.They were fully aware it would take place .However due to the negligence and incompetence I am greatly affected by this.I was unfairly/ unjustly robbed of my proper rest.
I work from my computer 5 days a week I'm up all night and sleep/ rest during the day.''UNFORTUNATELY'' for me now I'm DISORIENTED,FATIGUED,FRUSTRATED,IRRITATED, AGITATED,AGGRAVATED,STRESSED from lack of proper rest caused by the construction ''no one advised me of!!!!It is ''EXTREMELY '' dangerous to drive after ''NOT'' having any sleep/ rest!!!The employee took that choice and decision from me !!!
ALL I WANT IS TO BE ABLE TO REST BEFORE I TRAVEL.....I AM BEING DENIED COMPENSATION/ ACCOMMODATION FOR 1 DAY SO THAT I CAN ''JUST REST''
TAHE WORST OF IT IS THE INSULT TO INJURY.....I WAS OFFERED AT 8;00 P.M TO BE MOVED TO A UPGRADED ROOM FOR 15 HOURS.HOW DOES THAT HELP ME ??? I'M UP ALL NIGHT ON MY LAPTOP COMPUTER WORKING FROM 10;OO P.M TIL 6;30 AM. CONSTRUCTION STARTS AT 9;00 A.M. AND CHECK OUT IS 11;00 !!!!
ALL I WANT TO DO IS REST/ SLEEP IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK????
MY COMPLAINT/ GRIEVANCE IS LEGITIMATE.....I AM THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN INCONVENIENCED .I WAS SO DISORIENTED FROM LACK OF SLEEP THAT I DIDN'T GET ROOM SERVICE THAT DAY...NO NEW/ CLEAN TOWELS NO TRASH TAKEN OUT.WHEN I WENT TO THE FRONT DESK THEY HAD NO CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE MANAGER AND THERE WAS NO ONE AVAILABLE FOR ME TO SPEAK WITH TO TRY TO ACCOMMODATE / COMPENSATE ME OR EVEN TO COMPLAIN TO !!!!
ON THE WEB SITE IT STATES Red roof inn is among the leaders yet that holds no truth!!!!

  11. I recently was a a guest at the RRI located on 2449 Brice Rd Columbus, Ohio and I witness Mr. Hansen say to an employee "we can't have someone like you working here". He continued to reference her personal business which happened on her own time. She asked him to be more specific. He said it was because she's like that. And again she said "like what"? He said a queer. He said good luck proving it. He said he would just tell corporate "You failed to show up for work". THen he laughed and walked off.

  12. I had reservations at the Windy Hill Red Roof Inn (Atlanta). I was to attend a seminar early am and arrived about 10pm to find that my room must have been the site of a drug deal gone bad at one time.... Half patched wall and a security bar on the door was sheared off where it had been kicked in.......... What trash..... Across the way a hooker was setting up shop.....Not well lit at all..... I complained and was shown 2 more rooms before I told them to keep them and credit my card back.. Which has not been done as of this am..... I cannot believe this place is not shut down..... Keep away from this Sh%$ Hole... or take your gun.....

  13. Tom, I agree with your statement, and I had my gun. Me and my fiance were in town for a funeral, the place looked like the projects. We had to wait and hour to get into the room after going back and forth to the office because our room key didn't work, in 30 degree weather. The manager, who I could hardly understand, kept telling us we didnt't do it right like we were kids that have never stayed in a hotel before. Once he came up and tried with our key and his manager's key they both didn't work. So he said he would give us another room. So we went back to the lobby were we had to wait another 15 mins because another gentleman was complaining about not being able to get into his room, so the manager could make another key for us to get into a different room. Got to the room, then the heat didn't work, sheets had holes in them, room smelled like garbage. Called down to the office the next morning because it was like 3 a.m. and the new front desk clerk got snappy with me because I asked if they atleast had an iron for me. This hotel totally sucks! The only reason we stayed was because we had to wake up early the next morning and I had sheets, pillows, and febreeze in my truck!!! Oh yea then they charged us an extra $10, for no reason, we're still disputing the extra charge. I know it's a small amount of money, but I refuse to let these crooks get away with it...

  14. I recently stayed at Red Roof Inn in Lompoc, California.

Day 1- a man sleeping outside my door, no heat.

Day 2- still no heat, so I decided to take a hot shower, the tub was clogged and when I got out there were only 2 damp hand towels. getting ready for the next day I started charging my batteries, looked under the bed for one I dropped and found a DIRTY PAIR OF UNDERWEAR! not to mention my room had not been cleaned that day. (this I did not mind so much)

Upon checking out, they asked how my stay was. I told them about the problems, the girl behind the counter changing the trash said "oh you're the one with the dirty underwear", up to this point I had not mentioned that. That leads me to believe either they already knew about the underwear in my room or someone else had the same issue. The man who was at the desk didn't even look up from the computer to say "sorry".

I called the 800 number and filed a complaint, they told me it would take 2 days to get a response from that location. 2 days later I got an email offering me 25% off my next stay at that location. Today I got an email from Priceline, where I had booked my room from, telling me that they would refund me $20.00.

I will never stay at this hotel/motel chain again! The housekeeping was terrible and the follow up customer service was even worse. I'm taking time everyday to tell everyone I know about the experience and the customer service afterwards.

I am offended that as bad as my experience was they can only offer me a refund of $20.00.

  16. From reading reviews on various sites (Kayak, etc.), as well as some on here referencing the EXACT same location in HEBRON, OH, it seems as if that particular Red Roof Inn location has had issues for quite some time and continues to this day. Friends of mine stayed at that location in the earlier in April 2013. I usually try to take peoples reviews of people, places, and things with a grain of salt. Plus I tend to not completely believe reviews unless there are several hundred or thousands of different posts over quite a while mostly leading to the same conclusion. However, the bad reviews about the deplorable conditions of the Hebron, OH location seem to be quite true. I have encountered various mildly poor conditions in all kinds of motels across the country. Much of that I can usually attribute to sloppy employees doing cleaning, and then on occasion sloppy maintenance people who don't really know what they are doing when it comes to fixing little things (that or franchise owners being cheap and trying to do things themselves to save a few bucks, yet do horribly sloppy jobs). The thing that has to be driven through various hotel/motel franchise owners skulls is to ALWAYS have CONSTANT good Customer Service. The People running the Corporations that offer up Franchises to the building owners need to REQUIRE that the building Owners as well as ALL of the management they may have go through various Customer Service Classes on a routine basis (every year or two or so). And then also teach them how to teach all their employees in how to do every day basic things like cleaning the rooms THOROUGHLY, and when to change out things like sheets/towels etc. I understand sometimes the cleaning employees can sometimes be put under pressure to have just so much time in each room to either do a quick clean when a guest is still there, or a slightly more thorough clean when a guest checks out. But that's where better management and training comes in to play in allowing the employee to have the time to a GOOD JOB. Yes, some customers are ridiculously sloppy, and may require you to change out some things more often. Yes, can run up costs in the long run, but that's where your price of your rooms has to come in to play. Too many people ruining your property? Then unfortunately prices will have to go up, but when you have those really nice, quiet, and neat guests, you go out of your way to compliment them and help them. And yes, some customers are just terribly cranky or rude, but that's the kind of thing you have to sometimes put up with because that's part of your job.

  17. My name is Christal Armstrong. My family and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn at 2010 Zumbehl Rd, St Charles, MO from 4/11/13 to 4/15/13. We arrived late on Thursday night. When we opened the door to our room, we immediately got a strong smell of what we described as “wet dog + cigarettes”. As we got in bed, we noticed the linens had cigarette burns and smelled badly. The next morning (Friday), I went to the office and complained of the smell. I asked them to move us to another room. So we gathered up all of our stuff and moved to the room directly above our original room. When we opened the door to that room, quite frankly, the smell was not much better. But we had to hurry and get to the hospital to meet our new grandson. While at the hospital, I realized that during the rush move to the new room, I had left my personal orthopedic pillow in the room. I called the motel office and the clerk said he would look for it. When we arrived back to our room late that night after being in the hospital all day, my husband stopped by the office to see if my pillow had been found. We were told the room we were previously in had been rented out and the pillow could possibly be on the maid’s cart. But he didn’t have a key to that closet and we would have to wait until morning. Really? The night manager didn’t have a key to check the maid’s cart? So I had to sleep without my much needed orthopedic pillow that night. The next morning (Saturday), my husband went to the office and luckily the pillow was found on the maid’s cart but my 900 thread count pillow case had been removed and wasn’t found. So I lost my pillow case for no reason. We went to take showers, only to find out there were no rags in the room and only 2 towels, even though there were 3 of us in the room. I had to go back to the office for more towels. We spend the entire day at the hospital again and came back to the room that evening late again. When we got to our door, there was a note that the floors were wet. WHAT??? They “cleaned” the carpets in our room while we were staying there??? Frustrated AGAIN, we went to open the door and guess what…Neither of our keys would unlock the door. As my daughter and I stood there frustrated and exhausted, my husband walked up to the office and had to get new keys to get into the room. So when we finally got the door open, we were hit with the strong smell of wet floors that smelled like URINE. And the floors were so wet that we had to wear our shoes. And we immediately noticed our beds had not been made and there were no clean towels again. I called the front desk again and was told I have to request room service. No one told me that prior to that point. They could come in and soak the floors but couldn’t make the beds or bring clean towels? Once again, my husband had to walk up to the office for more towels. Before going to bed, I went to move the pillow and saw a black spider crawling across it. I, of course, killed it but was concerned about how many other spiders/bugs would be in the room. The next morning (Sunday), my husband and I both woke up with bites on us. I had one on my arm and he had one on his back. And when we arrived home Monday evening and began unpacking, I realized how bad my entire suitcase and all of its contents reeked. Once I was out of the room and had my belongings back in my clean home, the overwhelming smell of cigarettes and urine had to be washed out of everything I had taken. This was by far the worst stay in any motel in my life. The fact that your website describes these rooms as 100% smoke free, clean and comfortable is false advertisement. The fact that no one told us we had to ask to have our beds made and clean towels brought to us was frustrating. And the fact that our floors were “cleaned” while we were staying there for 4 days and then left wet and smelling like urine was beyond ridiculous. The fact that I paid anything, much less, full price for 4 nights in this dump is a joke. Your company should be ashamed of this.

  18. I want to tell my small story about the red roof inn Palm Harbor, Florida. We booked online through cheap hotels.com. when we arrived we did not get the room we requested they told us we would have to cancel and rebook at a price double what we paid. he had no problem canceling the reservation at that time. we decided to just stay, when we got to the room it was discussing. it had not been cleaned probably in over a year, there was stuff spilled all over the phone we could not even use it,there was a urine smell and the mattress was all yellow and a whole lot more. we called cheap hotels where we booked from and asked them to get us another room it was a back and forth who was going to take responsibility to do this the hotel said go through whoever you booked through and cheap hotels said go through the hotel. we decided we just wanted to leave so then it became a problem to cancel the reservation. i ended up still having to pay for a night because they said they would not be able to book it out again (I wonder why) we are now at lake tarpon resort a beautiful place but paying 3 times what i would have if this not happen. we came here from Canada for a stress free vacation and this is what we got. i don't know how but i am going to fight them to get a refund. (the owner of the hotel would not come out and talk to us he was just telling the clerk what to say) I thought that was pretty bad also)

  19. We have stayed at several different Red Roof Inn's and actually not really had any problems. The one in Tom's River New Jersey seriously needs to be updated but other than that, nothing real major. Last summer we decided to visit Lake Erie and stayed for three nights at the 7865 PERRY HIGHWAY ERIE, PA 16509 location. The room had been redone, like Red Roof has been advertising, at actually it wasn't too bad considering the lower rate and we could take our Bichon's with us. We decided to try to hit up Lake Erie again this summer since we loved it so much so about a month ago, I reserved (online) a room at this RRI for three nights. Unfortunately when my husband went to put in for those days as vacation, a co-worker had already done so so he could not take them. I went in on the 20th of April to change the dates to the following week. I canceled the previous week and then re-scheduled for the next week. The next day I was checking my bank account for its balance and on it I find a charge for $305.07 for the three days -- not a preliminary charge -- the WHOLE charge. This was NOT advertised on the site anywhere and this was not the case any other time I've made reservations there or at any other RRI. The one I made a month ago did not have this stipulation either. I have tried for three days to get help and get the $305 refunded because that money was the deposit for my son's college registration which is due May 1st. Kevin at the corporate office has been great and has been trying to help me but the RRI in Erie has a girl in reservations "Lexie" who continually lies to me and I have left three voicemail messages for "John" the manager over two days and he has yet to even return a single call. I had canceled the reservation upon finding the charge, so I'm out the money AND the reservation now. "John" was on-site according to "Lexie" but not in his office. So it's great to know that he won't return a phone call. I'm still trying to find out who the owner is of this RRI because I fully intend to contact them next. I also have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in that area and I'm going to make sure every board and blog knows that the RRI in Erie is a rip-off. They don't even disclose that they will charge your car the entire fee immediately. I was not expecting this at all. We normally reserve the room, or at a nominal fee, and then pay for the room upon arrival. This isn't like a cancellation within one week of the reserved dates or something either -- this is 4 1/2 months from now!!!!!! I am disgusted and really upset and now trying to figure out where I can come up with my son's college registration money. I had planned to have our short-trip money by July -- not right now. I will never stay there again and I will not recommend them to anyone. I am completely disgusted. At the very least, this manager could have the courtesy to return my call. I will be next calling corporate tomorrow at the recommendation of Kevin.

  21. stayed in gainesville florida, had to be moved one night because of noise. I had no problem with it and moved, but 2 nights later had a drunk group of 8 check in after 3am. After hours of listening to the pathetic "guard" ask them nicely to keep it down, I proceeded down to the front desk. The only response I received was "we cannot control other people's noise." Yes I understand, but what I dont understand is how incompetant one has to be to not realize you CAN control where you put people when they check in, especially when half your hotel is empty and you have no consideration. I tried talking to a manager but apparently they don't have one on weekends. Not one offer to compesensate, only people acting like I'm asking them to fly to the moon on a waffle to attempt to bring out some type of coherent response. Overall no common sense or courtesy, will never stay here again.

  22. I made a reservation on April 2 online and cancelled on April 5 online. I was charged a one night rate for no show at $124.81. I called and got the amount reversed however, the amount credited back was $123.19; short $1.62. Why should I be penalized when I cancelled on time, I have dealt with the hotel, they tell me to call my bank, the bank cannot do anything until the hotel puts through the refund. I have about had it with RRIs.

  27. the Red Roof inn in Fresno, on blackstone, is absolutely nothing like you advertise, it's a crime and hooker infested dive. The flat screens are only in the ad, it smells, the Rooms are extremely worn. if u stand outside to smoke, they harass u. Your company should look into your associate hotels a lil better, this was horrible.

  29. we paid for our son to have a birthday party by the pool at the red roof inn in Deerfield mass. The people their double booked parties and told us we had to cancel our party 1 hour before it started. come to find out our spot was taken by an employee's kids party so they thought they were more important. I was upset with this and they gave us a small room to have our party in. when we could finally use the pool the other party came in and took over again. I complained to the front desk about the issue and all the safety issues it was causing and said if I didn't keep my mouth shut she would throw the whole party out. They gave us broken tables no chairs and the party was a wreck. Because the other lady worked there she got to have a great party. How can this happen. poor service rude people and I will tell everyone I know not to go there. Even the people at my party are complaining about all of this. That lady should lose her job and I will be calling the cooperate office about her. I have her name and I will not drop this. My son has a right to a good party, and the staff there treated us like we were nothing cause the other lady worked for the red roof inn. I see now that its not about the customers its about who u are, I might get a lawyer. This is pure discrimination

  31. We just stayed at the one in N. Ft. Myers and what a stay it was. Here's some highlights of the letter we sent to the corporate office

Housekeeping: This is the biggest area of complaint I have. It’s literally the biggest joke every. This hotels idea of housekeeping needs to go thru a special training program because they aren’t doing it at all well.

    • We were there 4 nights and I will bet in those 4 nights my bed sheets were not changed one time. How do I know that? Because I had mascara on my pillow and all they did was flip the pillow over. I had gone downstairs our second night to ask the front office desk. (Young black girl didn’t catch her name) if the comforter and sheets could be changed and she said shell leave them a note. It was never done.

    • Our bathroom was not cleaned the entire time we were there. How do I know? Because we had stuff hanging in the bathroom to dry and it wasn’t moved. On top of that my kids had put a sticker on the bathroom was for your nails and it was still there even as of the day we left. Literally all they did was put more towels and soap and take the wet dirty ones away. Just fresh towels given and only 2 towels even though I advised them numerous times we needed 4 as 4 of us were in the room. I had to go to the office EVERY DAY to get more towels. I eventually bought 4 towels of my own because I was already frustrated.

    • The towels ALL need replacing and while I know that’s not cheap it is a must. Most of the towels we were given had stains on them. I say we had a 50/50 chance of getting a towel that didn’t have some sort of stain.

    • Our room was not cleaned with the exception of making the beds and taking out the trash the entire time we were there. How do I know? The rug still would have pieces of papers from my kids or crumbs that they dropped on it when wed come back to the room at night. The floor would still have foot prints or be sticky from juice being spilled and even though we wiped it up there is a residue. The housekeeping staff didn’t pass a broom or mop once in my room. I can also verify that by the picture I provided of the dead roaches by my AC which is attached on a separate page. I also seen for my own eyes their version of cleaning because we were still in the room one morning when they came to clean and all they did was what I mentioned above. I complained to Keith about it and he acted surprised and wrote out rooms down but by this time we were going to be checking out in the morning what could he do?

  32. 2nd part to my post as it was too many characters

There were cob webs in the lamp shades

Exterior of rooms: There were TONS AND TONS of spiders every where outside the rooms, on the railings, the roof. They were every where. Outside our room alone there were at least 15 (Attached see some pics) No one seemed to even acknowledge them or bother cleaning them up as they were on all sides of this hotel so they have been there for a while.

During check out I attempted to give the front desk person my REDI CARD # to apply to our stay and was refused. She said since I booked it at booking.com it didn’t count. That makes no sense. I stayed at the hotel I should be entitled to the credit. I just walked away with a sense of disappointment and disgust. Not once did anyone try to correct issues or make things right even after begin brought to their attention. If this isn’t how your hotels are supposed to be run or maintained this location is dragging your name into the mud and you should pull an undercover boss type thing and check this out yourself.

Interior of Room: As you first walk in the room, smelled musty and begin that there was only an area rug I assumed it was from the comforters. The colors were nice and it was pretty spacious. So we unloaded our stuff and went out to dinner. Came back and asked the front desk for extra blankets but was told after Keith looked that there were no clean ones and if they were he could not determine what was what. No big deal. We went to bed that night and the beds definitely need upgrading as they were not very comfortable. The mini fridge had to be defrosted before we can use it because it would not get cold and the freezer was iced shut. The TV had to be replaced the first night as it made a horrible humming noise and we lost power for awhile almost within minutes of us getting to our room.

Laundry: The washer and dryer are old and dryer doesn’t work very well. I had to dry every load two times as the dryer never seemed to get hot enough which was an extra $6 that I wasn’t intending on wasting on laundry. Not to mention the horribly cheap detergent the office offers for a$1 a bag. It should have been at least better quality detergent. Nor do they offer dryer sheets or fabric softener.

Ice Machine: There was only one working machine near the office as the one downstairs from our room appeared to be out of order for some time.

Staff: Not very friendly or polite they barely spoke when spoken to

  33. My associates and I do a lot of travelling from East Coast and throughout the Midwest. Initially one can be taken in by the hotel b/c of its staff appearing to be friendly and accommodating, but over time as many things do, their service and attitudes began to degenerate. We visited twice and were asked to give them a great review which we did even though there were some rowdy guests on our floor, but the third time we came we noticed that the staff, especially, the maintenance (and the manager whom I thought was maintenance but found out later he was the manager) seemed to be a bit huffy in our mere appearance as if we were smuggling drugs or homeless people with foul scents. The maintenance spent most of their time gossiping and makings noise like stomping on the balconies and yelling to one another from the balconies across the hotel complex. Assuming that everything is not perfect we allowed these petty nuisances to be shoved to the back burner considering that we needed to complete our work while awaiting passports for an upcoming business trip. In requesting an additional two days we were told that we could not stay and that we had to leave and come back after one o'clock and we'd be given a room if one was available. We found this quite odd b/c we travelled extensively and stayed in many hotels, particularly the Red Roof Inn, in the past two years and did an extensive stay at a suburb in Illinois and was never asked to leave b/c other guests were arriving. The way it is typically done is that all paid or paying customers occupying the room would be allowed to stay and other rooms would fill up as they were available and all other guests would be recommended to another hotel nearby. Also, when we arrived for our second stay at RRI-Westlake there were three buses of guests and we were still given a room of our choice (so the flimsy excuse offered by the front desk seemed more disconcerting, inaccurate). My partners and I were insulted b/c there seemed to be an unwelcoming attitude thrown off by the staff as if we were a problem when reality was we paid, laid low, and came and went as business permitted. However, we did notice on our last stay that we were placed directly next to the manager's office and he hung in there more than he had on our previous stays. Once we noticed he had the blinds open and caught him leaning against the wall that our room was opposite of, as if he was trying to hear what was going on in the room. It was odd and offensive for paid, well maintained customers to be treated like third rate criminals. The front desk associate kept trying to explain why we had to leave and that other long termers had to leave too, which was not true b/c there were several people that was there long before we came that was still there long after we left (we drove around to make certain of this). We could tell that something was brewing b/c one of my assssociates had told me when I came back from a meeting that the front desk called and asked if we needed to have service in the room. There was a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and maintenance saw us when we came and went. I informed one of the front desk associates that when I first came to RRI-Westlake that I worked a lot online and late at night so I, nor my associates needed services so much. Not to mention that we cleaned the room with our own cleaning products while we stayed and I usually got towels and other amenities as they were needed, but we could tell that maintenance and a couple of the staff were becoming frustrated with this for whatever reason. Needless to say, we were told to come back and even call to make certain that we would not get bumped again. It was very insulting, rude, and unprofessional. We will not be returning for maltreatment and basic service with subpar attitude. WARNING: Look elsewhere ... smiles are short term and gossip never sleeps with the maintenance and staff.

  34. We just stayed at the location in Myrtle Beach - the Market Commons. Everything was okay - not truly what we would have liked, but pet-friendly for my son and daughter-in-law's dog. In any event, we checked out and were on the road about an hour or so when my husband asked if I had seen his Kindle. We sort of panicked and called the hotel right away, only to be told that it had not been turned in. Over the last two days, I have talked to at least four different people who have given me varying accounts of events since our departure and I am very upset. The housekeeper was a young Turkish girl with long hair. I don't believe that they can't find it, I believe it was found and kept by the staff. Totally reprehensible. We don't have alot of money and it was a Christmas present from myself to my husband and he really loved it. Liars and thieves are what are employed at Red Roof, I guess.

  35. The red roof inn in Wilmington NC, is a generally wellplace to visit but the way some of the employees. Handle guests, the mistreatment of employees, and the unorganized way they work are rediculous they have employees staying there they are constantly having guests in and out all night they are her unconsiterate about guests. They even treat some employee's like crap overall I enjoyed the stay but there managers of housekeeping, the manager and the assistant should be fired they have a material who's hole family basically work there and stay there these people are rude, unprofessional and and you're loyal housekeepershave to work under them and often have to apologize for their attitude's. And mouth with the guest, our housekeeper was very nice and considerate. She made our stay enjoyable and kept our room up to par I believe her name was Mrs allena. I thought she handled her self with very good measure and all so Mrs Shanna I'd Luke to say to these women it was a pleasure having you as a housekeeper. Keep up the good work!! And if you keep just these two ladies under your hospitality your hotel would be better off I'm disgusted with your management staffover your housekeepers shame on you for employing these 2 ungrateful bosses!!

  37. I would like a response from the president of Red Roof Inn! I just spent one of the worst nights of my life at a hospital in New London, CT. Why because while traveling, I crawled into one of their beds to go to sleep at the Red Roof Inn #145 in New London, CT. I felt something hard under the sheet in the middle of the befld, I reached under sheet and mattress pad feeling something hard like plastic I tried to remove it then felt a sharp pain! Sticking out of my finger was a needle a USED NEEDLE from under the sheet and pad in my hand I flung it to the floor! We called the office was told we could switch rooms and they would call an ambulance and would be right down. Yes Kelley or Anna came down appauled, took pictures of needle. Tried to tell us it was part of a spray bottle the cleaning people used. Said she would call an ambulance and her manager. We asked for her to call the police as well. She said she would and be right back! We ourselves called the police and local hospital asking many of questions. We waited 1-1/2 hrs! She never returned, no ambulance, no police and no manager. No one from the Red Roof Inn ever got back to us!! I called my doctor and he said I needed to go immediately to the hospital. We googled and found our way to the closest hospital. This is a very serious matter. The diseases you can contract from a
