  2. What a huge mistake that is being made by closing down the Traverse City, Michigan store! There are many, many plus size women in this area with not many stores to buy plus size clothing! There is CJ Banks, put you can't be over a 3+ and many times Lane Bryant caters to just the younger women. I don't know who or how this decision was made, but I really wish you would rethink this horrible decision.

  3. I have recently been shopping at Catherines located in Vestal, NY. The customer service has been excellent at every shopping experience. I am posting this as a result of purchasing the Catherines Perk Program in the store today. My complaint is I went online the same evening and was not able to use the discount. After calling customer service I was told I would have to call back in 3-5 business days to get an adjustment as it was not showing up in their system. I informed Shawn(employee mqt079) that I had the receipt in front of me and could give him the transaction number from the purchase. He informed there was nothing he could do and I had to call back for the adjustment. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Shawn asked me to hold and when he came back on the line said his supervisor was not able to come to the phone. He could take my name and number and she would call me back. I said I would hold and he informed me I could not. I asked how long until the supervisor was available and he said he did not know. Again I said I would wait for a supervisor and he stated he would have to hang up on me. When I asked if I would hear back from a supervisor tonight he said maybe not because they had 4-6 hours to get back to me. I did leave my name and number and am curious as to how long it will take supervisor to get back to me. Supervisor's name on duty was Debbie and Shawn as unable to give me an employee number for her. I am disappointed in how this was handled. Shawn's tone was respectful during the conversation. I find it unacceptable that an accomadation was not able to be made to honor the discount tonight.

  4. I regularly shop at your Jewella Avenue store in Shreveport and up until recently had had what I considered good customer service. I also model for the store when they have new season merchandise come in. On 05/04/13 I was in the store modeling their merchandise and placed three items on layaway - one of which was to be ordered in a different size. I made down payment on Layaway #2. (I already had Layaway #1 for a couple of weeks and handed the clerk the Layaway ticket for #1 to make an additional payment. I did not npotice until a few days later that she had instead put both payments on Layaway #2 even though she had the ticket for #1. I called the store and was told someone would call me back to let me know how they would handle crediting the proper layaway. I never received that call but instead when I went into the store a week later for a purchase was advised that the transfer of payments to the proper layaway could not be done because....... No problem. Well I paid out Layaway #1. Went back on the 30-day time frame to pay out #2. Not only were the pants to be ordered in a different size not there but they almost let me walk out with only two items - had I not informed them there should be three items. One of the clerks was extremely helpful and located the pants on the floor (since the manager could not find them online) and the manager agreed to call another store and have them shipped to my home. Over 10 days later I called store only to find out by manager that pants were not in and that she had them shipped to the store not my home. She made another call and advised me the pants would definitely be in the store within 2-3 days and she would give me a call when they came in. Not it's been two weeks since I paid for everything; they have my money but I have no pants nor a phone call. So I go back in the store and the manager goes to the back and comes back out to say "looky what we have here". I checked pants size and they were correct so I was preparing to leave store when manager says "...We'll see you Saturday right?" She was talking about another fashion show - which I always model when they asked. I preceded to tell her I did not think I would be participating this time and explained why. I was not deeply disturbed by the fact that the pants had not been ordered for over four weeks; not disturbed because they were shipped to the store instead of home. I was not terriblky bent out of shape because I had made several calls and trips to the store and still waiting for order. What I was bothered y and I preceded to tell the manager is that on all of those occasions of errors on their part, she did not once offer an apology! I did not ask for a refund; did not ask for a discount; just for a simple I am sorry it has taken so long........ Even after I told her why I would not be frequenting that location again - still no apology. I think that is the worst customer service I have ever had! By the way I never raised my voice or used profanity - perhaps if I had I would have gotten better service.

  5. I am writing to complain about customer service in the stores (lake thereof), especially in the Bloomingdale, Il store. I had bought a jacket at another store further away while out on business. I took the jacket home, tried it on for a while and didn't like the quality (lack thereof) or the heaviness. I decided to take it back to Bloomingdale near my home with receipts, tags, etc. The tags had fallen off when I tried it on (after all they are flimsy) and the manager copped an attitude. She said she was WARNING me that they are not suppose to take things back without tags on them, then she decided since it had only been 3 days she would return it. I tried getting her to return the perks card too and she said "NO, you have to go to the other store". Oh, how convenient. Then I called the 800# last night, they said "highly doubtful" that I can return the perks, the corporate office wouldnt' allow it and the store where I purchased it might allow it (although that is much further distance to travel). I now left a message for corporate customer service and await a call back. Due to the decline in quality, constant pressure to open a credit card, and rude service I no longer plan on shopping Catherine's. I am voting with my feet and they are screaming RUN FAST!

  7. My name is J Sullivan and I have shopped at Catherines in Lake Forest California on El Toro Rd for several years. Today, 2-24-14, I called the store to see if they had a few items in stock. To my great dismay, it said that the number was no longer in service. I called about 4 times to see if it was just a fluke, but it wasn't. Why have you closed this store? Joan the store manager has always been the best and friendliest and most helpful manager ever!!! The only complaint I ever had with the store is it needed more youthful clothes in.   9. This is to whomever designs the printed underwear: please rethink the quality of your thread & materials in general. The quality of your printed underwear is not worth the fabric it's printed on. After only the first day of wear the elastic on the waist & the legs has separated from the fabric and in some cases the fabric has ripped to shreds. I would expect at the prices you charge for underwear for them to last more than a day or two. This is just ridiculous & your quality of fabric is just getting thinner & thinner. The thread used disintegrates after a week or so. Is this company really struggling this much that they have to rip off their customers so the higher ups can line their pockets by defrauding their loyal customers like this?

I have been a very loyal customer at your store (Metro Center Mall) in Jackson, MS for many years and I want to let you know that you all need to take a closer look at your new store manager, her customer service skills are a little lacking and she is borderline rude. As well as I have seen her getting very rude with her employees on the sales floor and I know this is not the proper way to manager her staff. I've worked retail for many, many years and this was very disappointing to see!!! I don't think any customer(s) or employee(s) should have to deal with this type of behavior from someone whom suppose to be setting a example in leadership!!!! I don't feel I should spend my hard earned money with a company that's not doing anything to correct the issues with rude mangers.

  11. When Right Fit pants were originally introduced, the sales rep in my local Catherines store urged me to try them. I told her thanks, but there's not a pair of pants in the world that fits me right. She begged me to try them, and she was absolutely right! I found that the Curvy Petite pants were perfect! Since that time, I have purchased them in every available color (remember when you made them in pin stripes, an occasional plaid, a khaki color?), and worn them exclusively.

    Imagine my dismay to learn, some time ago, that you completely changed the cut and fit of these wonderful pants. I went around buying up all of the old style that I could find in my size. Now, alas, they are all worn out and I MUST have some new pants. I've spent hours in your stores trying on every kind of pants you offer. I've ordered from many other online stores, only to spend more time returning the badly fitting pants than I spend ordering them.

    My original dismay has turned to frustration, disgust and anger. I referred several other women to your stores for the old Right Fit style, and like me, they were delighted with the product and fit. I have read many online reviews of the new style that are similar to my evaluation. If you must have the new style, can't you carry the original fit as well? So many of us loved then and were completely loyal to this product.

    The only complaint I have ever had with right fit pants is the very limited color selection. I have still been recycling the Faithful Four -- black, navy, brown, gray -- but it would be fabulous to have some khaki or off-white, as well as a few patterns.

    Please! Bring back the original Right Fit. You've asked that I not publish personal info, and I understand that, but I would love to hear from you on this. How can I contact you in a way that I'm able to get a response?

  12. I used to buy my dress clothes there for work. Unfortunately everything is the same loud colors and patterns. I feel like I'm going on a safari. I did find one polyester blend solid color blouse. It was plain, which is good, but $88 for a plain button down is ridiculous. Will no longer shop at Catherine's safari outlet.

    I have been a CATHERINE'S shopper for well over 30+ years. I have always found the clothing to be of good quality and the styles were directed towards the more mature, career oriented woman, which I liked. If you worked in an environment where a nice dress, skirt or suit was needed CATHERINE's usually had what you wanted.

    The came the first change! You guys went to "separates". Although this was not what I was used to I found that it was working and a time or two proved to be better than having to purchase the actual entire outfit if all that was truly needed was the skirt or jacket.

    NOW...for some strange reason you all have decided that the larger woman doesn't need to have dresses...or even skirts...at all. May I ask whose stupid idea that was????? It's a good thing that there are other places to shop because you...CATHERINE'S...have certainly let alot of us larger girls down. Bring back the dresses and skirts please! Not having the appropriate dress for work and/or play is getting old.

  15. I began shopping at the Madison, Wisconsin Catherines store, located on the west side of the city, about 1 year ago. I like the clothes and have purchased many, many things there. However, the manager and assistant manager in this store are thee rudest most disrespectful people, I've ever encountered in a store. I believe they think that it doesn't matter how they treat me because I don't have a lot of choices to purchase clothing in my size. This is the 3 rd time I've complained about this treatment. I will take my money down the street to Nordstroms and Lane Bryant, where I am treated with respect. It's such a shame that this store is run so poorly, I wish I could shop there.

  16. I placed an on line purchase after customer service hours 4/29 and tried to apply a gift card for most of my payment. I saw a place for a "gift card" message but no where to apply a gift card number. I tried entering in promotion code. I entered card info, went to next screen hoping gift card enter space and it completed the transaction. I called customer service to stop the order. Said it was too late. I spoke to a supervisor who said she would keep an eye on it and apply my gift card and reverse the card charge and apply the difference. She would send me an e-mail. None came. I called this evening, supervisor said she had no record. Phone calls were being recorded and disclosed in accordance to Massachusetts law. I am sure with computers and customer service they should have notes or initials. They know who I spoke to prior to the supervisor.

    I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Massachusetts Attorney General Consumer Protection Division and District Attorney of Norfolk County in Dedham, MA

    I have the giver of gift card put it in dispute with their credit card and return merchandise. I will not do business with this company again

  17. I love the styles and quality of the clothing at Catherine's and shop there every time I am near a store. I also order a fair number of items online, as there is no Catherine's store in Alaska, where I live. I would like the option of express shipping to Alaska, as it now takes 3-4 weeks to get a package delivered here.

    One month ago today - June 12, 2015 - I phoned the number listed above to discuss the possibility of express shipping. It was between 3:30 and 4 p.m. in PA, on a Friday. I was transferred to the extension on the desk of someone named Rosalind, and got her voice mail. I left a message and requested she call me back. Since it was late afternoon on a Friday, I thought it might be Monday or Tuesday before I heard from her. To date, no one has returned my call, leading me to believe that corporate HQ really does not care what their customers think, as long as they keep buying the clothing.

    This is poor customer service. A telephone call does take up a lot of valuable time. It would be nice to feel that my feedback is important to you.

  19. We had a horrific experience at the Pasadena CA store. The saleslady named Maria was VERY rude.
    And if u have a kid, I wouldn't think twice about bringing them with u when u go shop here.

    Me and my sister together with my 3 yr old son with Autism went in the store trying to look for a dress. Right when we got in, my son immediately ran towards their jewelry display rack and started playing with the necklaces. He pulled a section and dropped them on the floor. I started to pick up the necklaces and tried putting them back on the rack ( it was already broken by the way) while my son ran off with one of the necklaces towards the clothes section. All of a sudden, this Maria went off to my son and tried to get the necklace from him. She was so rude and was shouting at my son to give the necklace back to her. I had to tell her not to talk to him that way and let me handle the situation. She also had the nerve to tell me to not have my son run around the store. And we weren't even there at the store for 5 minutes. She never gave us a chance to take care of the situation.
    And while this was happening, she literally left her customer at the register just to tell off my son. She was very very rude and treated us like we were not welcome in that store.

    This would be the first and last time I would step on this store.

  20. I was in your Wichita, Kansas West Kellogg store and the store manager said she had been working 16 ours overtime and WASN'T GETTING PAID! I'm pretty sure that's illegal. She said the district manager Jennifer Rosa (Oklahoma City) told her to do so because they didn't have coverage. I will be reporting you.

I would love for you to make clothes that can be worn to church. that don't reveal all of your breast and , skirts and dresses that come below your knees staff in the Baltimore store on 7005 Security Blvd. are very professional, and I enjoy every visit I make in the store. keep up the good work you are doing.

  23. I've been shopping at Catherine for a bit now in Bakersfield Ca. And it's been ok... But lately there ls this older lady that works their and is beyond RUDE I don't know HOW it is that she is in customer service. Let alone apparently an Assistant Manager?!?! Whose hiring these ppl? I mean seriously. I was SHOCKRD to learn that this woman with such UGLY additude had a "title" I mean my cousin went in 3 weeks later and got to talking about catherines and we BOTH brought up the issue come to find out its THE SAME lady!!! Worst part is my cousin seemed to of had an altercation in the store a few welds ago and there were 2 woman working and keep in mind Mt cousin is an older lady! Closer to 70 and a apparently another shopper had a child with her and was NOT taking care of the kid so my cousin politely let her know that t have wrestling were heavy objects and that he was dumping all sorts of merchandise. That said the other woman became angry and cause a HUGE yelling fiasco in store. Only 1 worker interfered to calm the situation.. it wasn't that ast. Mngr the other customer even threaten to wait for my cousin outside and she did... the other employee walked my cousin to her car and took care of the situation as best as she possibly could. My cousin did ask who the manager was. That's when she learned that the RUDE woman in fact was also assits. Manager. My cousin did ask her WHY SHE DIDN'T FEEL LIKE SHE HAD TO STEP IN?!?! the assist manager said... I didn't see a proble. She didn't treated you... WOW!!! DOES THIS SOUND LIKE MANAGEMENT MATERIAL?!?!?!?!thank goodness the other employee was there. Younger girl that walked my cousin out to her car and come to find out... the other customer that in fact did threaten to wait for her was waiting.
    CATHERINE'S YOU SHOULD REALLY LOOK INTO WHOM YOUR HIRING AS "MANAGMENT" CAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE YOUR HANDING OUT THESE POSITIONS AS A TITLE VS A SKILLFUL JOB REQUIREMENT. ANYONE CAN OWN A TITLE BUT A TITLE COMES WITH A JOB.. will NOT shop in the Bakersfield CA Catherines. NO THANK YOU!

  24. I previously worked at the store in Tallahassee, Fl. When I was hired, I was told by Kristy the manager that she would be able to work with my schedule for my first job and that I would get a minimum of 15 hours a week which was written in my paperwork. However, no matter how soon I got my schedule from my first job to her, which was always well before she made the shedule, she always would schedule me on days were it would conflict and expect me to turn down a seven hour shift for 3 hour at Catherine's. Then upon hiring a new employee, she cut EVERYONE'S hours because she has no idea to schedule people properly. I found out then that this was a normal thing and was very displeased at my hours being cut to 3 hours once a week which was not what we agreed upon and was again being scheduled on a day at a time in was unavailable. The clothing at this store is horrendous and overpriced, and the store preys upon women who think that this kind of crap is all thst is available to them.

Every time I send an e-mail with any questions about my account, i.e., why wasn't I notified via e-mail that I had Catherines Dollars to spend until the day it expired at midnight!! Every response I receive from any question I ask, especially from a person named FERN N., is dismissive and deliberately vague and makes absolutely no sense. She does this every single time I send an e-mail question to catherines.com. If I try to respond to her e-mail, I am unable to as my e-mail is returned as "not able to send". What is she hiding? I am getting extremely frustrated with her answers to my simple questions and it makes me wonder if shopping at Catherines is worth it. I await your reply. Thank you. P. Ghiozzi

  26. Catherines in Abilene, TX. I have been a customer since the 80's here in Abilene. I've seen many managers come and go and for the most part all have been very nice and professional. EXCEPT the one that is there now. When I go in to shop I cringe if I see her there! Even though I have been there several times, she knows I'm a regular customer, she continues to follow me around the store as if I'm going to steal something! Come on, give me a little space. And on top of that I have heard her giving the other employees "ORDERS" and I do mean orders! They are probably making minimum wage and she is just down right rude and hateful to them! Corporate should really do something about her or will lose a long time customer and I will shred my credit card there. I'll take my business somewhere else! Her name is GIGI

  28. Regarding the Catherine's store in the Gateway shopping center in Portland Oregon.

    Have been shopping there for several decades now and never been so completely ignored as today. I was the only customer and their were 3 clerks.

    Had money in hand and needed a few new shirts and anything else that caught my eye. No help offered even when asked. No tags on the racks to separate the different sizes. Only tags for the petite and then not even for what size they were in the petite category. Like 2 petite, 3 petite etc. The racks were so full you couldn't even slide the hangers enough to see what the tag on the article of clothing said.

    Regular phone number has been disconnected. Are they going out of business???????

    How come no answers from Catherine's are posted here???

    No one even said Bye when I walked out without buying anything.

    Hope manager and/or staff either get fired or retrained.

    This use to be a really nice, friendly, courteous store with employees of the same caliber. WHAT HAPPENED????

  29. To Catherine's. Your coupons and ADS are DECEPTIVELY worded....or pinted on the back in a print so light, you can't read even with a magnifying glass.....as I tried that, after I got home, and did not work.
    I could have saved myself $20.00 (from coupon on flyer) , if I KNEW I had to purchased the ONE tee shrit that was on clearance seperately, AFTER I had purchased the rest of my $ 116.00 purchases. Being a Senior Citizen and living on Social Security one has to be as frugal as possible. I am a Perks member.

  30. I have quit the Perks program for the same type of reason. The clothes that I buy seem to always be excluded when I read all the fine print.

    Their coupons and Perks program seem to have more exclusions than what they will actually give you a discount on.

    I have quit getting suckered into their store by the nice flyers that they hang in the front window.

Since the nearest Catherine's store is far away this has been very convenient for me. It would be nice if you would open a Catherine's store here in Santa Clarita/Valencia.

    1. This person that has made this comment has several police reports on him for harrassment, has been imprisoned for electronic harrassment, and currently has restraining order against him.   37. I am so dissatisfied with Catherine's online services. I do not normally shop Catherine's but a friend suggested their shapewear. They did not have my size in the store so the sales associate advised that I should order online and they will ship to my house within 3-4 business days. I never got the package and when I go to the store, they couldn't find my original order (after an hour they did) and tell me that it was already shipped so check with neighbors. Now I am caught up in the middle between online customer service and the store as if this is all my fault. I am a veteran online shopper and NEVER have shipping problems. I now realize that shopping online with Catherine's was a massive mistake, buyers beware (especially with orders placed in the stores). I am starting to believe that my order came to the store and someone took it. I hope they enjoy their new shapewear courtesy of me!
