  2. Ridiculous answers from GM. Traveling to DC area to attend Redskins game. After checking in we were informed that the pool is open at 5:00 pm. We checked in at noon and are traveling with 4 kids. We have to leave at 6:30 for the game and will not return until after midnight. That gives us less than an hour to enjoy the pool before getting ready for the game. HOW ABOUT STATING THESE POOL HOURS ON YOUR WEBSITE!!!! We would have stayed elsewhere! GM says Prince Georges County code says they can't open pool until 5:00. I called. No such regulation. They just don't want to pay the lifeguard. We offered to pay the guard if they would come in a little early. That was laughed off. As an Honors member I don't appreciate being.laughed at by jackasses that I am and employing. Marriott here I come!

  3. We called to complain about the screaming baby that had been screaming for an hour and keeping my child up. The front desk said there was no manager on duty. She would call us back. We still have not heard from her. The same people woke us up at 11pm. No help what so ever from customer service. We then received ok ir bill which was less than what they charhed my bank account. They said wvwry hotel charges more for security. No one informed me of this whwn I made the reservation or checked in. Apparently this brand of hotel is only out for money. Bc we went to talk tothe manager and once again they said there is no manager on duty. I will b report ing this company to the better business bureau and what ever I can do to make sure people don't waste their money on this brand of hotel.

  5. Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Folsom, Ca. After I was told at night coming in from my day out, I was told that someone was smoking in my room. I was charged well AFTER I checked out 150. I was told that the smoke alarm did not go off, so I assume that if someone smoked in there it would have gone off due to the "HEAVY SMELL" from the room. Two people claim to have went inside the room while I was gone but due to the fact that I had a guest there the whole time that this didnt actually happen, then I was told that the smoking fee is non-refundable and that they dont need to evidence to prove people had smoked in a hotel room. The do not disturb sign never left my door during my three day stay either.

    1. I recently stayed a week in the Hilton Garden in Oxford Al and had the exact same thing happen to me! I recieved my bill and there was a $250 charge from "smoking in a non-smoking room".. I never smoked in the room but when the house cleaning went through there was an EMPTY pack of cigarettes in the trash can. So they claimed that 2 people also went in my room and said they smelled smoke. In my 12 yrs of travelling I have never smoked in my room but I have thrown old packs away after smoking in the designated areas.. I think this is how they get extra money.

  6. My wife is in the hospital. I was told they have discounts to help you. When I contacted them. I was informed they only had a few rooms left. For that reason it would be full price. Been sleeping in my car two days now. I won't be spending my money on a place that cares less. I hope the extra money was worth it. Hilton garden inn next to albany med thanks for nothing !!.

  7. This weekend my brother and I are travling to Winter Haven Florida for a Youth Bowling Tournament. My brother is one of the coaches. He orginally held but did not reserve 10-12 rooms so that the parents could call in and pay to reserve there own rooms by a certian date. He was told by the female that if the rooms were not reserved by a certian date she would take them off hold and it would be a first come first serve basis. Everyone said ok and the parents started to reserve there rooms. By the end of the days allowed two rooms were not reserved. My brother had called in and made sure they were taken off hold and would not be charged for anything to his card. He was told no problem by the same girl. We called today to make sure we could do a late check in and the same girl told us that there are 3 rooms under my brothers card. He said no and went back over the previous discussions. She now claims none of the above happened. He called and spoke to her manager who told him with out even letting him talk " i already spoke to my assoicate and im not playing any of your games. you will be charged for 3 rooms at 2 nights per room" and hung up on him. He never even let my brother introduce himself or explain anything. i have gotten all the corprate numbers and i will be filing fraud on the credit card if they charge those rooms. After reading all the complaints i will make a point to NEVER stay at another Hilton of any kind ever!!!! This has started off our weekend horrorably. I cant wait for someone to sue Hilton and take all there Money for all the shitty and rude and nasty serivce they are providing!!!

  8. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Oconomowoc WI this past weekend September 12-15. There was a family wedding in Oconomowoc so my whole family stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. The receptionist, Juerge Weinmann, was extremely rude to everyone of my family when they checked in (at different times). He certainly should not be employed in any job that has to do with customer relations. We also found that the reservation department made many mistakes. They put my sister down as needing two rooms with a connecting door when she only needed one without a connecting door. The receptionist gave my sister a very hard time about this insisting that she had reserved two rooms. My daughter, her husband and three children reserved a room with a connecting door, however when they checked in they were told there were no more rooms with connecting doors. We had a wonderful time in Oconomowoc, but none of us will ever stay in a Hilton Garden Inn again!!

  9. I tried to cancel due to injury at Hilton Garden Inn in Beaverton OR, today. But because I am not canceling 7 days in advance I was told I will be charged regardless for Friday night. Even with a Dr note provided. This is a soccer tournament hotel sponsor so we all know that this room will be booked immediately and the hotel will collect for Friday night by another guest as well. I will never book rooms in block at this hotel again! Beware of stipulations as this is how the account executives make their commission! Very poor customer service and was treated extremely rude. 10. We stayed at HGI Central park South NY in April 2014, two rooms for my family. We had been booked PRE PAYED into HGI Tribeca but was contacted by Expedia as they were over booked and offered the HGI Central park South. Everything went fine until we were charged again by HGI Central Park South for both rooms. After a number of phone calls and numerous email it was straightened out.
Now in July 2014 HGI Central Park South charges my credit card AGAIN for one room. over $1000. AGAIN countless phone calls at my expense as I am in Canada, and numerous emails it is being straightened out again.
No word of any compensation whatsoever from HGI Central Park South. Shameful....... WATCH your credit cards and do not delete emails confirming PRE PAYMENT of rooms.

  13. The General Manager at HGI Lynchburg, VA needs to be replaced. Sue Spencer is extremely incompetent as a GM. Housekeeping is very obviously rushed as the rooms are not as clean as they should be. She clearly doesn't do much as a GM, and difficult to work with. I have heard many of the front desk staff complain that she refuses to assist even on the busiest days. She does not answer her phone nor does her management team unless its convienient for them to do so. Turn over at this hotel is very high, and she has fired employees for any reason even showing favoritism to certain employees. Some of her employees steal and yet they continue to have their jobs. Time wasted on ridiculous meetings everyday discussing issues with the staff that are never fixed anyway. This hotel is a joke and needs a serious turn around because it has been dragged for several years by this weak brained manager. Nothing positive to say about this hotel, or its management. Sue sweeps serious issues under the rug to keep her own job, meanwhile her lackeys do all her work while she scrambles to make it "look good". HGI human resources needs to seriously investigate this GM and get a competent replacement.

  14. On July 25, 2015, I made a terrible decision to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel Downtown Jackson, MS, 235 W. Capital St., Jackson, MS 39201, instead of going to the Marriott. Upon departure from the hotel on July 26, 2015, I went to retrieve my vehicle from valet to learn that it had been stolen from the premises which is a gated lot. My expectations of this establishment and the Parking Management Services, Inc. were not up to standards. Please do not ever make reservations at this hotel, had I known they only use valet parking I would have gone to the Marriott like my gut instincts warned me. I waited patiently 6 hours in the lobby for management to try to rectify the problem so I could get home after calling the police. When my car was located due to me contacting OnStar to disable the vehicle, it was damaged and vandalized. I had to hire and attorney to get the hotel and valet company to rectify the problem.

  15. My Stay Hilton Garden Inn Temple Texas,
After checking in on first day, the room was clean so I thought. After retiring for the evening, I turned back the bed covering to find that the sheets had not been changed. We went out and bought new sheets the first night striped the bed and sprayed it down. The next day we put the hotel sheet back on the bed only to find out they still did not change them. There was no note that stated we do not change bedding everyday. The Hotel desk clerk stated that the hotel did not change sheets everyday if it is not requested. How were we to know that if there was no card are sign noting such.
Extremely poor housekeeping! Bathrooms were disgusting with dirt and hair on bathroom door and floor. Mold around tub and surround, which was not even cleaned. Housekeeping brought clean towels and left the dirty ones in the room. After reporting that dirty towels were left on the floor, the next day two of the same towels were fold and placed on the shelf.
We leave the room for the day return and our key does not work, we walk back down to the lobby to take care of that issue. The Hot tub was nasty, no towels on the rack to use.
I have always chosen Hilton Garden Inns as my choice of Hotel stay. I have also held several wedding, gala, Christmas parties at the Hilton Garden Inn Anderson SC. I was just not pleased with this stay. We were there to host a wedding and several guest stayed there as well. Many of them were not pleased as well.

This was a very disappointing stay. After the wedding and reception, we just left and drove to San Antonio for the rest of our stay.

    Very disappointing regards,
    Carolyn Payton Pinson

    1. Try being construction crew for
Independence mo hilton garden inn the gm was the only pleasant person in the building I have had one of my crew members be told that he could not sit in the lobby for he was too ugly to be with the other guests the guy who works for the owner of all of the hiltons suggested my crew come here he is a jackass. Everyday it was something the customers were complaining about the noise (seriously who has heard of construction being quiet)? But there is one thing I have noticed at this hilton you can get away with anything here. I've seen people tail gate in the parking lot barbecue in the parking lot people have kids fighting each other in the parking lot walk on wet tiles in the rooms when they are not dry from renovating smoking weed in rooms leave trash on the construction side like we are the trash crew ( no where else in the halls ). People stealing phones other people luggage tile of construction site so much goes like people don't have any home training and is stopping them because the gm says she doesn't have any say so over this hotel because the owner said so. So if everybody wants to come aND get wild like your life is going to end tomorrow come to the Hilton in independence mo. You get your money back for anything here. Believe me like I said there is nothing I haven't seen in this hotel

  16. I work for the Hilton Garden Inn in independence mo the rooms that were renovated were nice but done sloppy. There was paint all over the doors and walls, in the room I was given. The faucet in the bathroom was not hooked up. The carpet was tucked but shredding. I talked to the gm and she made the construction crew fix everything the way it was supposed to be. I would not recommend this location to anyone. The front desk people are RUDE!!! I had someone at the front desk tell me they didn't know how to get in touch with the construction crew it was not as if the hotel had them on speed dial.

  18. My husband and I have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn many times and have always enjoyed our stays. Sadly, the one in Portland, Maine, has been going downhill the past year at an alarming rate.We have always booked executive rooms and enjoyed the perks of the executive lounge. We were there last month for several days for a Dept. of Defense conference-executive room, use of the lounge and no problems. We made the mistake of staying there Thanksgiving evening. We knew that the executive floors were being renovated so did not choose one. We were booked in room 432; and we now know where old bedding and lumpy pillows go to die. The heating/air system clanked the entire night, the toilet made odd gurgling sounds and flushed itself every few minutes. The next morning when we checked out I told the day manager of our concerns. He was extremely polite and professional-promptly removing $50 from our bill. Now we find out that the executive lounge will be closed for the entire winter. This removes any incentive from paying a premium price for an executive room. I don't consider this a cost effective move as I can't think of any reason to stay there now. My husband and I do not consider a robe in the closet and a mini fridge as perks-many mid-range hotels have these as a matter of course. Save your money and stay elsewhere!

  19. We have stayed at the HGI's in Valdosta, Ga., and Manhattan, Ks. In both locations we found low value for the money. The worst situation was the inadequate sheets and comforters--too small for the beds, difficult to sleep under with another person, and would pull off the bed during the night. Apparently, too cheap to use bedding that actually fits! There are no tubs for bathing in Manhattan, and the shower is difficult to use. The towels are thin and small. Unlike most moderate hotels, HGI charges for Breakfast! Considering that many other brands have better amenities-- and basics--than HGI, and for less money, we will NOT be staying at any HGI again!

  22. I want to compliment the front desk staff at both the Hilton Garden Inn in Wilkes-Barre,PA and the one in Danbury, CT. I stayed at each this past weekend and felt that the front desk staff at each did a wonderful job of welcoming me, and at Danbury, going one step beyond to help me get dinner at 9:50pm which was just 10 minutes before the restaurant closed. You so often get criticism that I wanted to let you know that you have terrific staff at these two locations.

Trying to make a reservation for an event in Daytona Beach, was told that corp. does NOT allow the hotel to book in advance. Can only be after the last event, before the event you want to book.... ???? What is this? We have stayed at this hotel every year for last 4years & now a new policy ? this stinks. So A big event with thousands of people come to town & you really hope that you will be able to get a reservation where you want to stay. Sad.
