  1. Do not usually take the time to go back to the actual Toyota dealer with my 2008 Toyota Sienna. I had an issue with a rear wheel sounding loud. I decided to go to Crestmont Toyota in Wayne, New Jersey, and expected them to find many issues with my car. Only because I feel companies take advantage of consumers lack of knowledge of vehicles. I was quite impressed to find they found the problem, repaired it and informed me it was under warranty. They also fixed two other "recall" issues they noticed needed to be repaired. I walked out of Crestmont Toyota paying nothing and my car drives great! Applause to Crestmont Toyota for their honesty and profesionalism toweard their consumer. They have convinced me to become a regular customer.

  2. Had a problem with our Toyota truck having a recall, but we never contacted. The recall was for a rusted frame. Good thing we didn't get hurt. Our mechanic inform us of the recall. So we took it into Lombard Toyota for an inspection. The mechanic told us that although the frame was rusty, that it was OK to drive. I asked what happens next, and was told do not worry about it you will be contacted. With no further contact from Toyota, I was still driving the truck. My mechanic still believes it is unsafe to drive the truck with a hole in the frame. So I took it back to a different Toyota in Oak Brook, and was inform that the call back had ended. I sent out a letter to the Toyota Office in Illinois to find out why I wasn't contact and about the recall or the termination of the recall. They said they didn't know and it was not their problem. They need a better way of communicating with it customers. I would think that Toyota would do a better job standing behind their cars, and a safety issue would not have an expiration date. It would not, if I got hurt driving a truck with a frame that could break and cause an accident. Then would it be their problem, I think so. So where do I stand Toyota said it OK to drive and my mechanic no. W. Preisel

    1. Toyota put a new frame on my Tundra 2001, but that is all they did. Having dealt with metal for 50 years everything that touched the rusted frame will rust. I look under my truck and it gets pretty scary. I had heard that Toyota got a rebate from the steel mfg.

    2. They actually bought my truck back at 150% of Kelley Blue book in 2012. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Not that I am completely happy with the dealerships these days. I'm trying to order a new truck and it seems to be an impossibility to get what I want.

  7. Toyota can no longer be trusted. The excessive use of electronics has made the vehicles unsafe. DO NOT BUY A TOYOTA and if you already own one, get rid of it before you or a family member is seriously injured due to Toyotas unsafe vehicles. Shame on Toyota!

  8. Toyota Sienna 2004 has been nothing but BAD. Countless recalls, warranty enhancements, etc. Most recent is the warranty enhancement for the sliding doors. Sounds pretty straightforward, that is until the dealership and the terrible customer service department in Torrance CA advise me that I will have to authorize a $99 charge, in advance, if Toyota inspects the rear sliding door and finds that the problem is not that specified in the recall. My sliding door does not lock w/ the remote or electronically, I have to manually lock and unlock it. Sounds like it is right on point for the warranty enhancement, but they still want me to pre-agree to this potential inspection charge. Terrible company, terrible service, and I would never recommend a Toyota to anyone.

  9. I bought a 2007 Scion TC from Scott Clark Toyota in Charlotte NC, I had gotten the full package which included tires for the life of the car for as long as I came to this particular dealer with any servicing issues such as oil changes (maintenance). I was out of town because of an emergency in my family and my engine light came on, so I called Scott Clarke and advise them, I was told to take my car to Beaufort SC and there would not be any consequences needless to say when it was time for me to get my tires, my contract was null and void. My decision is never to by a car from Scott Clark again. Of course I have had Toyota's all of my life and couldn't see by anything but a Toyota. My most recent issue is causing me to wonder. I am reading on line about the antifreeze leak regarding the 2007 in Toyota's how there was a recall on Camry's but not for the Scion tc's. I am not sure about ever getting a Toyota at all again.

  10. I received an invitation for a drawing and a prize for visiting Toyota of Mckinney, TX (Pat Lobb) the prizes ranged from 4K, Ipad, $20 to $250 walmart card. My card I won was worth $10 at Walmart. Really. I expected to get at least the minimum of $20 but not $10. Is this a sign of the integrity of the dealership?

  11. Went to Carson City Toyota to have the cable replaced on the sliding back window on our 2012 Tundra. I went 2 weeks prior and waited 3 hours to be told they needed to order a part. I returned today to have the problem fixed and to have the oil changed. After 1 hour and 45 mins I am told that they need to reorder the part. When I complained to the customer relations manager about waiting 3 hours last time and 2 hours this time she tells me they didn't know about the part till after the oil change and you only waited 1 hour and 45 mins. I hate Carson City Toyota!!!!!

  13. I brought my Toyota Tundra to David Maus in Sanford Florida for body work, in July of 2012. They were full of promise at the onset, but didn't live up to it. In fact they didn't even complete the work. I have written three emails to them about the problem. None were ever answered.
Why would I ever buy another Toyota Or deal with David Maus?

  14. Don't do it!!! Toyota does not stand behind its name - claiming each dealer and shop are "independent". Toyota personnel can't tell you about its parts and allows its "independent dealers and shops" to do whatever they want including, change names and not honor "lifetime" services or warranties. Don't expect Toyota warranties to be honored at all dealers either.

Go with a Honda and if you are set on a Toyota - make sure you shop around - stay away from Atlantic Automall, Toyota of Huntington (also know by several other names); never trust a dealer who offers coupons with "most" and / or with no definition of what they do or do not accept. Never trust a Toyota repair shop that doesn't have a window / shuts it doors to customers view. And never trust a Toyota shop that refuses to put a deal or its planned service in writing before it takes your money. A verbal mumbled, simple, "okay but" without finishing the sentence, or any facts will be taken for an "agreement" - and Toyota corporation is quick to dismiss complaints, does not stand behind their product or shops - including lifetime and emissions warranties.

    Do your research!!

  18. Right Toyota in Scottsdale AZ provided the WORST absolute buying experience EVER!!! Took my fiance there to buy a car and the next day he was laid off. We called the dealership and explained this, and the finance manager said no problem, we got you taken care of. Well the financing fell through and they called and asked for their car back. He took the car to them and 4 hours later he was told they sold his car the day after he traded it in. HE took their car home and two weeks later they called and we have your car back. He went down today and was not allowed on the lot. (Mind you no scene was ever created) 3 hours later they give him his car with no license plate, no antenna, hoses disconnected and dents that weren't there previously He was told he would need to talk to a manager. When he tried, no one would talk to him. I like Toyota's and will buy that or a Scion in the future, however NEVER from this Dealership. They made the error and are treating us like criminals and degenerates.

  19. I took my Tundra in for service at the Walnut Creek, CA location. I called The Service Dept. ahead of time and was told to come straight down. I was there within 10 minutes and it was over 3 hours before service was started. I had to stay at the dealership during this time, as this is my only mode of transportation. The service was performed in a timely manner. Then the Tech. who serviced my vehicle decided it was a good idea to lay across my hood so he could clean the windshield! I found this completely unacceptable. I complained to the Service Dept. Manager and was given a claim number and told someone from The Corportate Office would call me to follow up on this matter. That was over a month ago and I still have not heard anything. I am very disappointed in the complete lack of Customer Service Toyota has shown. I expected much, much more from such a well known company. My advice is to watch your vehicle like a hawk any time you have it serviced.

  21. Dear Toyota people,
I want to report to you the details of today's my incident at Classic Toyota in Waukegan.
First, a little background. I purchased a Prius battery few days ago there. After touching base with my neighbor, I found out from him that I already had purchased a new battery about 6 months ago. My memory is failing me (I have onset of Alhzeimers), so I am glad that my neighbor remembered. Right away, I called the dealership and they verified my previous purchase of the battery. Bill, the manager, personally called me at home and told me that if I returned the new battery in its original condition, then a refund would be issued. I told him that I will not be able to bring the battery on Thursday, the 31 of Jan, but I will be there on Friday the 1st of Feb.
I arrived at Classic Toyota at about 1:30PM I came from the overhead doors side. I temporarily parked my Prius outside, close to the overhead doors. I lifted the heavy battery out of the car and walked in thru the service area with intention of leaving it by the doors to Customer Service area. I almost accomplished this task, but not quite. Classic Toyota employee, I believe his name is Adam, told me: "You can't leave this here! It is not a disposal for batteries".
I tried to tell him that this battery was sold to me few days ago and I am returning it, but he would not listen to me at all. When I tried to walk in the Customer Service area, he blocked the door and said: "Get out! Get out of here! I will not let you in! Get out now!"
I still wanted to go in there, I managed to do it after I pushed myself in the Cust Serv office.
This really enraged Adam - he decided to call the police and file a report.
I said, I want to park my Prius and walked out. I suffered from a failed heart condition and I started to feel bad. I was afraid my heart would completely fail me , so I drove to my doctor's office and then later, obtained additional heart medication. I feel better now.
Much later, I returned to Classic Toyota. The guy there treated me nicely. He assured me that the battery is in Bill's office and eventually I will get a refund.
My wife told that the police came to my house and asked for me and my cell number. The police called me on the cell and asked me to come in for a statement. I contacted a lawyer and he adviced me against going to the Police station. He told me to just wait for a warrant.
I also called Bill and my impression is that Bill is taking a side of Adam, I sensed un-friendliness towards me, a valued, long time customer.
I am sad and un-happy of what happened today. If only Adam was a little more diplomatic and if he would not take this immediate, aggresive stand, if only I would just walk out, back thru the overhead doors, toward my car and came back thru the front, then this would not have happened.
Below is what you say in your ad:
At Classic Dealer Group, we care! We do everything humanly possible to make your experience positive and rewarding. We would greatly appreciate a positive review of your experience at any one of our three dealerships. Please contact us immediately if you feel you had a bad experience and we will do our very best to make it right.

  22. I would like this mail to be read by all the HIGHER officials of Toyota and all who are planning to buy car from CONCORD TOYOTA CA. Toyota is number one in the market but Dealers like TOYOTA CONCORD are ruining their names. They treat customers with negative attitude.
I had a bad experience with them today. I finalized a deal of COROLLA LE 2013 model with her manager Lisa. She was nice and took care of us and gave us the best deal. I was talking about the deal with her from the last 3 days and when all got finalized, I went to them to get the car. unfortunately she was not there on that day but she told me to meet Runaldo another manager in the show room. He started the process and i called insurance guy and did the insurance as I need to drive back the car home. Now was the time to do the down payment and get the car. All the conditions which LISA told me regarding the down payment etc were fine and I came to take the car.
But suddenly Another person so called "MANAGER's BOSS" came and told that you need to pay $ 1000 more for the same car. It was ridiculous to hear this. He said it is against the rules of Concord toyota to give you discount and 0% APR. But I said that i was taking to your manager LISA who is having 32 years of experience and from the last 3 days and she never told me anything like this and it came as shock for me. I asked him to connect to LISA and he said "SHE WORKS FOR ME" and no need to call her. I told him that i haven't come to do the deal .... DEAL is already done and I just came to do the down payment and get the car but he went into argument mode and said that LISA is unknown about these deals and she might have done mistake but you need to pay $1000 or just leave the car and office. IT WAS RUDE. We were very lenient and talking to him with politeness but he was like, do the deal or leave. Then he went out of room for 5 mins and came back by saying that you pay $500 atleast and get the Deal. It was stupidity to bargain like this, we were in the Toyota show room and not in the Grain market. I felt bad and felt like cheated. I wasted my time and money and health. I left the deal on the spot, not just because of $500nor $1000 .. it is just because of unprofessional, RUDE and unprofessional behavior of CONCORD manager's BOSS. If a person can't stick to his words, how can we trust them in future. The So called manager's BOSS harassed us and abused us too. With such a negative and unprofessional behavior, CONCORD TOYOTA is depleting the name of TOYOTA. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO TAKE CAR FROM TOYOTA CONCORD. I think being a Senior members of Toyota and Dear Customers, you should take some action against such dealers so that person like me should not suffer in future. I took PTO from office just to get the car but all went wasted and invain, also I wasted money on insurance. I hope it would help customers to choose the right dealer.

  23. Hello, I purchased a 2001 VW Cabrio in April 2012. Had nothing but problems. When I asked if I can take the car to the mechanic to be checked out, they refused. I guess I should of known better and just walked away. The water pump was replaced two times and the motor mount was cracked. I asked for the timing belt to be changed when they replaced the water pump but they refused and said it was good. Now another mechanic is questioning the timing belt... Don't figure? Toyota didn't believe me at first before all this happened until I brought a man to the scene. Now I have a list of other things that are wrong with the car. I strongly feel that I got a lemon. Is there a lemon law on a used vehicles?
A month ago the radio went out and I needed a secret code. They wanted to charge over a hundred dollars to pull out the radio for the serial number to get the code and reset the radio. I saw a video online and fixed the problem myself for $5 dollars. Seriously I was thinking of buying a new car from Toyota and now from all the problems that accured with a used car from them...I'm certainly not going to!

I am a repeat customer of the Toyota vehicles. I have never been disappionted with any of the vehicles I purchased from Toyota. I have own a Celica and love it. 2nd vehicle was A Toyota Xtra cab Truck that I owned for 14 years and is still running today. I purchased a Tacoma Extra cab and it has had three recalls nothing to major. But my beef or complaint is not the recalls it is the fact that I have these $60.00 caps that keep coming off. Can you tell me why can't you as a Company can't fix a little problem like this. I like my Toyota looking nice it is a reflection on your product. I am not a rich person money wise, I just would like some answers to how to fix this. M. Hagmann

  29. I went to Toyota of orlando to look for options and trade in my 2012 Camry. Spoke to John Rios, what a hustler. He wanted to suck me in asking for an extremely high down payment and my car as trade. I have already paid over 8000 on this car. The sale guy told me it all went on interest payments. Very disappointing that not only does the Toyota loose its value but that these hustlers would want me to pay an additional 5000 plus give them my car. That is the most outrageous thing I have ever experienced in purchasing a car.

I am thinking the same thing will happen with any other Toyota dealer. Talk about customer appreciation. No, preferred dummy customer is what Toyota means. Lets get the trade for the least we can and get a down payment and stick a few more thousand on the contract. Let's just screw the customer.

What a shame. I am going to wait and see what I can do to get out of Toyota for good. I will not recommend to no one. I will also contact corporate even if they do not take any action at least they will have a heads up that not keeping loyal customers can amount to having a lot more not coming back because of these tactics.

DO NOT BUY FROM TOYOTA OF ORLANDO be careful this guaranteed approval is a hoax to reel you and stick you.

In late 2007, my father was in a terrible accident. He was hit head on at about 150mph by a drunk driver who decided to pass cars on the dirt (wrong side of the road) Breaking my father's back, crushing both legs, breaking his hip, and fracturing his arm.

He was in the hospital and in rehab for a total of 3 months, there were times I thought he wasn't going to make it. But in the end I am so greatful he did. Even through all the things we had to go through leading up to him coming home, it was all worth it and I could not be any more greatful.

I truly believe that the reason he survived was because he was driving a Toyota Tundra. It kept him so well protected with all of the airbags, and if those weren't there, well then I think he would have been thrown from his vehicle and killed instantly.

After his accident he hasn't been able to afford another Toyota, which breaks his heart. He loved that truck, and really realized how much it helped save his life.

Toyota by far has the best cars, and they DO save lives! My father is a living example.

  32. I am currently driving my third Toyota Camry. Mechanically it's as good as the last two; but a few cosmetic problems have recently cost me nearly $800. The PAINT FINISH was ruined (this happened to my 1st one also, but that was blamed on severe weather and use of salt on the roads in the North East). The present car has spent 99% of it's life in the South East. Except for a few heavy rainstorms, no severe weather conditions. Also the INTERIOR FABRIC on the overhead panel began to fall down on us. Poor glue I guess??? We decided to just get these things fixed and not fight with Toyota. While the car was still under warranty, we realized none of the "cigarette lighter" outlets worked. We didn't need them for lighters, but did want to charge our cell phones and use the GPS. No can do!!! Toyota told us it would require nearly dismantling the car to follow the power lines and find the problem. And that was that. Though I rely on the mechanics, it would be nice to have the car function in the small areas also.

  33. I originally went to Toyota of Bedford, in Ohio on thursday for a simple oil change & tire rotation because I was driving to North Carolina the following day. I waited 2 hours when my appointment was at 5pm. I was told over $500.00 worth of work was needed, which I will have checked somewhere else because I never had a problem in the two years I owned this car and kept everything up to date. I go home afterward the oil change to discover my oil is leaking. NEVER had a problem prior to my oil change. I called them back and brought back my car (which I have receipts for both visits on that same day)which was a huge inconvenience to me. I first was told my O ring had ripped or split by the manager, (which he said happens often)so they replaced and reassured me I will make it to North Carolina and back just fine. Then the service worker comes out and tells me it was just over flowed oil....which was a lie because the manager 15 minutes prior told me it was the O ring!!! I go on my trip and noticed my car was running really hot but had parked it the rest of the trip in the parking garage and didn't notice the oil until I was leaving sunday. I added more at a gas station just to be safe. I get back from my trip on Sunday. I wake up the next morning with more oil stains. My father in law checks my oil after I get off work and I hardly had any oil in my car!!!! My husband Mike then calls and talks to Marc Domenech around 5:30pm. He proceeds to tell us to bring the car in and he will get it checked out. We get there 15-20 minutes later & we were then told he left for the day and that the service garage closed at 6:00pm!!!!!! For what ever reason why this guy failed to mention any of this is beyond me. I asked for a manager and of course none were there. So I found a sales manager because I was not driving all the way back home with no oil in my car! Luckily he helped me and got me a rental car, free of charge, after nobody in the service department would help me. He took me back to the service department where I waited another 20 minutes because they couldn't find the correct rental car, had to drive to another lot to pick up a different rental car which was in the employees words (gross) so then had to drive back to pick up a third rental. They are very disorganized and I am in shock a dealership is ran this way. If it was not for this sales manager they would of turned me away with out hesitation. To top off all this off Marc Domenech who was supposed to contact me today regarding all this mess, called my aunt who was the prior owner of my car after I told him and the clerks in the service department 3 times to change it to my name and number & they even wrote my number down for him. Very unprofessional office they are running there. I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse for 9 years prior to my Camry and never EVER had a problem with them. My car is paid off in August and I will be going back to Mitsubishi. I am told the problem is fixed for the third time in 5 days and I pick it up today after work. I want my money back for my oil change, I want this business investigated because a customer shouldn't have to deal with the problems I did over a simple oil change!!! Especially if this is supposed to be a certified business. I have wasted 3 days now on this and I am not happy at all! If something is wrong with my car after I pick it up today I will contact who ever I need to being the news, BBB and your office once again! I will make sure I get a written & signed contract tonight before I leave stating if I have further troubles regarding this incident Toyota will be held responsible. This is ridiculous! This is only a complaint for the service department and garage. I will find out the name of the sales manager that actually took his time to help me out because he was the only one who gave me and reassurance that this matter would be taken care of. I will never come back here for anything ever again.

  34. Just purchased a 2013 Toyota Sienna LXE, complete with the navigation system. Toyota's website says: "SiriusXM Radio 10 with 90-day complimentary trial" is "Standard" with this model. However, after attemtpting to sign up with Sirius, I found that I will have to pay Toyota $450 for a package to add the satellite capability. My dealer seemed surprised the car did not have satellite. I called corporate Toyota and the lady asked where I found the information stating it was "standard." She seemed surprised when I told her it was on their website. She said I would have to "build" the car online to find out that it was not standard, but an additional cost. I am not happy with this outcome. We bought the top of the line LXE with all the bells and whistles. Now find out we have bottom of the line radio. Crazy to have to pay so much for what should have been "standard." Guess we'll be traveling without Sirus this summer.

  36. Beware! Run an AUTOCHECK before purchasing a certified used car from Toyota. Sold us a truck with Frame damage. Verified w/ Autocheck/Pacific SW Region Auction that frame damage announced when Toyota purchased it. When discussed with Toyota we were told "we don't run autocheck only carfax". Can't sell our 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab now. CarMax offered 9k on a 17k truck because of the frame damage (w/o frame damage they'd give us 14K). TOYOTA YOU SUCK.

  37. Advice: I have a 2010 Toyota Camry, numerous shifting problems from day 1. Yesterday my daughter left for a work trip. Rental company gave my daughter a brand new Camry, all the bells and whistles, leather seats, she was so happy & called to let me know. Two hours later on the road she had stopped & was not feeling well. Started back up again and the car was stuck in PARK, shifter would not move no matter what she tried. Found someone to assist her & finally the car came out of Park, shifter not very functional as of yesterday. Car rental company coming with another car at her location & taking this "BRAND NEW CAMRY BACK" Not at all happy with Toyota.

I have taken it to the dealership in my town 3 times and they still haven't corrected the problem even after I received the recall letter about the wheels. I am really disappointed in the Toyota dealership and service department in our town can't understand Toyota not keeping better check on dealership they support.

I do have the extended warranty but need to jump through hoops to have them honor it. Never again! A car should last longer than the payment book.

  43. I have complained about this to two dealerships. I went back to toyota dunning in
Ann Arbor and again complained. I think it was the manager who with whom I was speaking and he explained that it was a pump that cycles after the engine is turned off.
I have again taken to stopping owners of the prius model if in fact they have a noise. Yes, but they all tell me it is a soft whirring noise. That is not what I have. It sounds like a
rusty gear or rusty metal against metal and it can be quite loud. It is always after the engine is turned off and occas when I start it up or just before. Not sure on that one.
The problem with the loud metallic sound is that it varies in intensity and I cant figure out the reason, so they don't hear it at the dealership. Someone would have to drive the car for a bit over a period of a few days to hear it. IT IS NOT NORMAL AND I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO GET SOMEONE TO FIX IT. Clearly it is associated with the pump. Seems to me a small thing to take it out and replace it. A response would be appreciated. This has been happening since I purchased the car this year

  44. This is a letter I sent to Frontier Toyota of Valencia. This is what I claimed was done to me!!

Everyday someone would come up to either myself or my partner, and tell us how cute our car was. I would then spend time with them, telling them how much I love my car. That I'd test driven all the small cars out there, none drove like my IQ. That it drove like a little sports car. So much power, and how it held the road like a little sports car. I was a walking billboard for you guys. Until roughly 8/16/13, when the car started idling low, losing its power.. I took it to N. Hollywood Toyota, where Gary in service test drove it.. and said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'd called you guys that same day... and Joe said he was busy that weekend, but bring it on Monday. After leaving the car with Joe overnight, I'd called on Tuesday for a update. He told me they found out what the problem was... and they'll fix it. Joe said he knew for sure what it was, and had no doubt they could repair the problem. Either way, the car today still has the same problem. But as you know, that's not my biggest issue with my car and Frontier Toyota. You see... my high performance tires, that gave the car its great traction, firm steering control and made it look different from the all the other IQ's was gone and replaced with factory tires. These are items I claim to have been removed and replaced. (Tinted back window, straighter/longer front window, tires, both front lower seat cushions, front headlights, removed back passenger seats, therefore causes seats to be less firm, there is more) Scratches and Damages: Two scratches on front hood, front driver panel scratched and not put back together correctly, oil spots on top of inside roof, scratches on dashboard, damage on front window plastic bottom cover from tools placed on it, replaced shorter center console, rubber trim from on top of car is coming up, top of car and near front window) Remember, you guys claimed to had fixed the recall/safety issue airbag/sensor issue two days before you sold it to me, and having no other recall/safety issue on record for my car, why did you them remove/alter the front floor mates? You said Toyota makes you... yes agreed, but you guys were the ones that sold it to me, that owned it when you repaired the sensor/airbag issue. So, safety issue? Changing floor mates when it should had been done when you fixed that recall issue back in Feb. 13.

I'm so upset, not that the car wasn't fixed for the original problem that brought me in there, but by all the alterations and removing other aftermarket items that were in the car when I purchased it, when I brought it in to you guys. When you guys decided to replace these items I've listed with the original factory standard items. NOW IT LOOKS LIKE EVERY OTHER IQ!!! I paid way over sticker price for that car, and I didn't care because I loved the way it looked and especially performed.

I don't want to buy a new car from Frontier, I don't want to trade in this car for a newer one. In fact, if given the choice between someone offering me a new FREE BMW, LEXUS or to have to pay double for my Scion IQ, like the one I bought from you guys in Feb. 2013, I would take my IQ any day of the week. AND I MEAN IT. In fact... it something I would say to everyone that asked me. "LOVE MY CAR"... and you guys had to go and screw it up for me! Why? Was it all really worth it? For car parts?

I'm asking for two option. ONE, put my car back the way it was prior to 8/19/13. TWO, allow me to view the entire security video of my car while it was in your care.

  46. Look what happened to me at Lewisville Toyota.

    (1) I bought a Toyota Tacoma Texas Edition for $33,744.00 (includes $2000 for extended warranty) on 13-NOV-2013 with loan at 5.0% for 60 months:
    (2) I was over-charged $1,909.31.
    (3) I caught the mistake 12 hours later, and they promised me a check for the difference.
    (4) I never received the check for the over-charge.
    (5) Received loan BILL from Toyota Financial Services for $33,395.25 at 5.2% (instead of 5.0%), and the amount is still $1,909.31 too high.
    (6) Called General Manager on 25-NOV-2013 and complained. They promised me an e-mail that acknowledged these errors.
    (7) As of 02-DEC-2013, I never received the e-mail acknowledging the errors.
    (8) I went to Toyota of Lewisville to pay off vehicle 100% at correct price, but was not allowed to. They told me to contact Toyota Financial Services. They told me they cancelled my extended warranty, despite me never asking for that. I was told by Toyota Financial that I would have to wait up to 8 weeks to receive the $2000 refund for the cancelled warranty that I did not cancel.
    (9) I contacted Toyota Financial Services the next day and they told me to contact Toyota of Lewisville, and Toyota Financial could not correct the loan, amount, or interest rate.
    (10) I contacted the General Manager and complained.
    (11) The Finance person finally calls me and asks me to come in and I can pay off the vehicle in full (as I requested).
    (12) On 5-DEC-2013, I write a check for the correct amount.
    (13) As of 13-DEC-2013, Toyota Financial Services still says that I owe them $33,395.

In 55 years, and purchases of 6 or 7 new vehicles over those many years, I’ve never seen such a mess.
I don’t know if it was incompetence only, or dishonesty, or both.
Either way, the experience was abysmal.

I am still waiting to see if I will get a clear title and release-of-lien, since I had to paid cash to pay of the loan to finally close the deal.

  47. I purchased a 2007 Camry brand new. Started using oil. Dealership made me do an oil consumption test and it clearly showed it was using oil. This don't only include me. Here are a list of the vehicles that It included in a Toyota technical service bulletin: 2007-2011 Camry HV, 2007-2009 Camry, 2009 Corolla, 2009 Matrix, 2006-2008 RAV4, and a 2007-2008 Solara. I could not get help from the attorney general's office. He agreed with Toyota that the warranty was out and I only had 99,800 miles but my time was up in April of last year. This Toyota technical bulletin which I have typed in here came out on August 11, 2011. Why wasn't this issue not approached then? How many unsuspecting people are going to buy these used cars on the lot not knowing of the engine oil problem? The dealer isn't going to tell them. We all need to come together and approach this problem because I know of many already. Waiting for some replies on here.

On returning home I looked out the paperwork and have documentary proof of the service offer and the binding deposit paid on the day the offer was made. I phoned Motorline immediately and asked to speak to the service person I had dealt with Dan Wood. I was told he was busy but would call me back. I waited, then called again and was told he would call me back. I waited and then was told he had gone home! I am hoping mad!,,

  53. For over 14 years I have been a loyal Toyota customer and have purchased 5 top of the line vehicles from them. I today am so upset to be a Toyota customer. Their corporate level customer service is the worst. My husband has been for months trying to get someone to help with his Toyota Tacoma that has one of the faulty frames that rusted and developed big holes in the frame which made the otherwise good truck unable to pass inspection and undrivable. On Top of that the corrosion from the frame cause a total brake line failure while he and our two small children were in the truck.

The failure caused him to have to go through a red light and maneuver into the dealership without hitting anything until he crashed into a ditch in the back of the woods of the dealership. This was days before the limited service campaign was announced that would replace these faulty frames in 2005 and older Tacomas. My husband and children were traumatized and they just put them in a rental and got them out of the dealership. My husband had to stop as his legs were shaking so bad and that is how they sent him out. We then spent days on the line with corporate who said they would cover the rental etc. Then we got a call from the dealership if we did not pay for the brake line repair on the truck we would be charged storage fees and we had to pay for the rental.

Since the repairs would be covered in the frame replacement we paid and paid for the rental as corporate assured us we would be reimbursed. We also found out that prior to the service campaign they have been replacing these frames to squeaky wheels and even paying for the rental cars for those customers. Tuesday night we were told that since the program was in phases even though our state was on the list we would have to wait months.

The woman said to see if the dealership would cover a rental and if not call back. the dealership will not cover the rental and so I called back and I escalated things speaking to a Steve Gardner who took all of the information. He just called back and in the most callous way without one ounce of human compassion or kindness stated that, "Sorry there is nothing we can do for you. You will have to wait and you are responsible for a rental and all the fees incurred. When the phase goes through in your state we will review it and let you know if we will cover any of the cost." When I asked how they helped other customers out prior to the campaign he sidestepped it and double spoke to try and lie his way out. I told him I was so sad, disgusted and ashamed that I have been a customer for 14 years and this is how I am treated. He was like a robot, not one ounce of sympathy or customer care. I asked to appeal to someone and he told me he was the highest and that corporate had authorized him to handle this.

So we have a truck that is undrivable, a rental we need to pay hundreds of dollars for and find a vehicle for my husband to drive while we wait months for the campaign to begin in our state and we are not even given any help. I feel like taking my Sienna AWD Limited and driving it there and leaving it. I am so ashamed to own Toyotas. Shame on them for treating people like this and my family could have been killed and they have not one ounce of compassion. What an eye opener.

  56. I purchased used 2012 Tundra from the dealership in July 2014 and from the start there were problems with vibrations of the vehicle. They temporary seemed to fix it and then I went on a 3500 mile road trip and returned again to this incompetent dealership and had the 30,000 service and tire rotation and again the vibration was back and worse, I had to return on Monday and waited almost all day to only be told they were incapable to repair the problem and they are blaming Firestone and the new tires installed prior to my purchase of which the vehicle had 25,500 miles. I left the dealership with the truck worse than when I took it in and was informed they would call me the next day (Tuesday) 10 22 2014 and I waited all day and attempted to contact my service rep Kenny Stiles and he never answered, I called and asked for the service manager and only got voice mail. I called Toyota Customer Care and asked for help or them to intervene. A turn out Toyota is just about show because I never herd back from the Case Manager from Toyota No Care either. I again yesterday called and today called Customer care at Toyota and spoke to ART and he made a call to Toyota of I-10 in Indio Ca and spoke to the service manager Janet and he came back on and said that the service manager at I-10 Toyota assured me they would have the problem resolved by Friday 10/24/2014 Here it is Thursday evening and still nothing and I have to drive 70 miles one way to go to I-10 Toyota and I informed them I was moving out of the state on Monday October 27 2014 and needed this problem resolved. I am posting this action everywhere I can think of because if I encounter any sort of problem related to this vehicle there will be plenty of documentation and, I sure would not believe anything ever told to you by this dealership.
The representative from Toyota Total Customer Care name is Diaima Fheleay. I was called back by Toyota Customer care and asked if I wanted to take a survey regarding my experience and as soon as I started saying how terrible and unsatisfied and the problem was still unresolved the person said their computer had hung and she would have to call me back. No Call was ever returned.
As of today Friday October 24, 2014 I have received no word from I-10 Toyota and I was scheduled to pick up the Trailer to start loading for my move, to Arkansas. I-10 Toyota has deliberately stalled knowing I was leaving the area and state.

You would think Toyota Corp after all the complaints that are floating around out there woudl realize they have problems and their BS line they care most about "Customer Care" would start to come back to haunt them. They will be just like the former "Big 3 in Detroit" if they do not change they way they do business. I for one know this is the last Toyota and I will keep telling and sharing my story and experience at every meting and gathering I attend.

  58. I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with multiple recalls; air bag, frame rust, software update, and possibly a leaf spring recall. I recently took my truck to Burnsville Toyota, MN for the first three recalls. The letter stated that it would require undercoating possibly. The service center technician was very helpful while were there. My wife and I waited about an hour and half, technician called and stated that they had found a rust "hole" in the frame and that I could not take the vehicle off the lot. He also stated that they would need to order a frame to replace mine with and that this process could take as long as three months! Not what I was ready to hear, I expected to schedule a two day undercoat service appointment.
I am not a vehicle mechanic, but to remove a frame I believe requires the body to be removed, engine, brake lines, exhaust, electrical harnesses and axles. All of this done at a service center that is not likely experienced in such expansive mechanical work...this is more like assembly line work! I can expect no further issues upon receipt of my vehicle after such major mechanical work? I doubt this will be the case.
While Toyota is giving me a loaner vehicle, I am not excited about this process either. While the loaner vehicle is nice, I have to return this every 25 days…some formality of it being a loaner. I live an hour away from the service center, so now I give up at least 2 hours every month (for 3 months) to honor this and assist Toyota with an issue that is not mine. I do have to say that the service center was very quick to get us in the loaner and on our way.
Our service technician stated that the frame is $15k. I am guessing this does not include the labor to do the work, the cost of a loaner, and the subsequent work that will undoubtedly follow with such expansive mechanical work. Regardless if there are additional costs, it exceeds the value of my vehicle. Technician stated that they would use Kelley Blue Book for trade in value. I looked up the Kelley Blue Book on my vehicle; $14.5k on the high end, but I use my truck and so it is probably closer to $13k. So this means I could trade in for another '04-06' Tacoma? And get what? A truck that has had the recall work done?! I would rather get a check and go find another brand of vehicle entirely. Leaves me feeling that my options are very limited!
