  1. I own a 2005 Jeep Liberty (my second Jeep Liberty as I LOVE this vehicle)BUT I don't love the problem with the windows. Please respond! My case number is My name is Debbie Garrels My phone is I have replaced the lever arm in THREE out of four of my Jeep Liberty windows at a cost of $200+ per window. I'm asking that Jeep pay for all three windows as there is obviously a problem with the lever arm and even the dealership admits this problem. I have receipts for all three windows, I don't plan to let this go, I've contacted my TV stations in AZ, I have business cards which I place on all Jeep Libertys I see in AZ alerting them of this problem, I have a POSTER on my Jeep alerting others to this problem. I want to see Jeep take responsibility for this problem and stand behind their product. I love my Jeep and plan to pass it down to my son. I want to be able to say that Jeep takes care of their customers. Please respond.

    1. Hello I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty with the same problem the windows. I already had 1 fixed about a year ago. told them about the drivers side not working now the passenger side just broke my local dealership wont do anything about it they told me that it is out of warranty they wouldnt even give me a phone number for jeep to call and complain. it sounds to me that there is alot of window problems they need to do a recall. good luck

    2. I am in the same situation as the two people above. I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty and have had to have three of the four windows replaced. Now I noticed that the fourth window is starting to do the same thing. I have had to pay out of pocket and I feel that Jeep should take some type of responsibility. After all, I plan on keeping my vehicle and maybe buy a new one some day but not with this problem. That is a total of approximately $600.00 that I had to pay. A recall should be done.

    3. Well, I was looking for the address to file a complaint about the same window problem - 2007 liberty two of my window motors were replaced now the third has gone down and the dealership said I had to pay out of pocket, I then called a customer service # and they said due to the age of the vehicle it is no longer covered by the recall. Well, I've been a jeep owner since 1993 - always Grand Cherokees, then decided to go smaller, big mistake - I will never buy another Jeep product again. If a company will not back their product, especially when they know there's a ongoing problem, then I will not be doing business with that company.

    5. OMG... I have had my windows repaired 6 times in less than 6 years. I bought my 2007 Liberty at the end of 2008, and before it rolled off the lot my fronr driver side window was not aligned and coming up on an angle. I was ensured it would be repaired and that would resolve my issue. That was a big fat lie.... 6 repairs later, 2 of which have cost me $700 i am trying to get reimbursed and their dismissive attitude is offensive. I asked at the dealership when i purchased my Jeep if this was a know problem and was reassured it was not. Now Chrysler acts as if i bought my Jeep with monopoly money. One of my repairs was during the warranty period and they still are trying not to reimburse me. I am not having that. I will get a lawyer if i have to.

    6. I have the same issue with my window. It is the one behind the driver. This is the second time in two years that it has stoped working. What is weird is that when I had it fixed two years ago, the window has not been used since. I was parked in a driveway at a friends house. All four windows were up. When I came out to leave the window was down. It feel down on it's own. This is faulty merchandise and nobody should have to pay for a problem that is becauce of faulty equipment. Jeep needs to stand behind its product regardless of the age of the car. The consumer should not have to pay for this. I intend on contacting my Congress person. I need to be re-imbursed the $400.00 that it took to make the repair. Nobody should have to put up with this.
I will never but another Jeep again!

  2. I wish you luck Debbie. I own a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and bought it in 2009 and I have to replace the transmission already and yet the service department still can't locate the problem. After months of searching for the perfect vehicle, obvioulsy, Jeep isn't the one. I will not recommend Jeep or Chrylser to any of my friends or no one for that matter.

  3. I really wish that Jeep would bring back the Cherokee Sport. The Liberty is not even close to being a Sport. If that vehicle was brought back I would probably cry tears of joy. If they do bring it back; don't slant the front end like you did in Japan's 2500. Make it tough, with good clearance and a strong motor. The Cherokee sport was the baddest SUV besides the wrangler! I don't mean to be negative Nancy hear, but seriously? What is going on with the new models? They all look like high glamour with low clearance and a big fat belly. If you want someone who is a true Jeep lover to come in and help with the design I'll do it for free.

but I am still having the same problem as of to day.

    2. There are a lot of things that Jeep should bring back. One of which is the 4.0 all cast iron straight 6 engine. They also should retro back the the earlier body styles. I have totally lost interest in buying anything new. I think they need a new design team.

  4. I have a 2011 Rubicon with the nav package. I installed a lift and bigger tires. Now naturally I realize this would cause the speedometer to be inaccurate. What I didn't realize was that the GPS would also be inaccurate. It appears to me that the GPS is linked to the speedomoeter somehow instead of like every other portable GPS unit out there that shows speeds based on satellites.

I recieved a speeding ticket because of this issue. I thought I was doing 106 (in a 100 zone) and the cop said I was doing 123. "It is probably because of the bigger tires" (I have 37" tires compared to the stock 32"). I don't think this is right.

It should be assumed that a Rubicon owner is going to put larger tires on the vehicle. Regardless of that, in general, why is the speedometer linked to the GPS? That doesn't make any sense.

As it's a 2011, I'm unable to attach any sort of tuner device to be able to change the settings on the computer due to the new OBD lock brought to us in whole by Jeep.

So essentially my argument is this, Jeep linked the GPS to the speedometer of a vehicle which 8/10 times will be modified and at the same time disallowed the ability to fix the problem by putting an OBD lock on. Way to go on that one Engineers. Surely someone there wasn't quite thinking. I myself am an engineer and this saddens me that the common sense factor was not used for this detail. The only way I can fix this is to spend $1000 for an after market ECM which I'm not about to pay because I can't quite afford that. That's almost as much as I paid for my lift kit AND 5x 37" tires combined.

  5. Same problem here with the 2006 Liberty window regulator. At $200+ to fix each time they go out is is frustrating that Jeep isn't doing anything. Not even offering a re-engineered part to fix the problem. I am on the 4th window repair right now. Bottom line is simple. No product support from jeep equals me buying a Toyota or any other brand soon. Too bad they can't help a customer out. Hopefully they have quit putting such cheeap parts in the vehicles.

  6. I, like so many Liberty owners have issues with the window regulators. I have a 2006 and am about to repair the windows for the 4th time. Too bad Jeep decides it is ok to sell vehicles with such cheap parts. Why hasn't jeep at least upgraded and re-engineered this defective part ? ? ? There are some other options out there to repair this defective cheap jeep part but it still costs $200+. Since I have had zero product backing from jeep it has led me to look at Toyotas and other brands for my next purchase which will be happening by year end.

  7. Own a 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited. Was informed this morning that a value broke off and is in the engine. To repair this it would cost over $5000 for a new engine. Was there a defect (unbeknownst to anyone) with this year's engine. Not only did this occur, this engine type burns alot of oil. This make and model also is a gas gussler. Other than these issues, I loved this vehicle. I have a call into Corporate to see how they can help me. (I am the second owner to this vehicle). Funny though I own a 1985 Jeep which NEVER had a problem like I am facing today! They surely don't make cars like they used to.

  9. I own an 07 jeep cherokee laredo. I bought it in feb of 2011. I have had nothing but issues with it not wanting to start. The display is telling me my transmission is over heated even though it hasn't been driven. I have talked to many owners of the same vehicle and they also have the same problem. This including my insurance agent. Having it towed today the tow company said they pick up A LOT of these due to the same issue. It is my goal to go public with this issue and hopefully corporate will get this issue reslolved!

  11. SOUTH OAK DODGE/JEEP MATTESON ILLINOIS
I had been talking to MIKE P for 4 days and had pics of a 2012 Jeep unlimted. A planned weekend test drive was scheduled however, our Friday night opened up and we decided to take the hour+ drive (1 way!) to South Oak. I had called MIKE P twice and he was well aware that we were on our way. Upon our arrival at South Oak, MIKE P told h=me that the auto was "JUST SOLD." MIKE P then said he had found some "DEALS" for us. Funny how the vehicle was "just sold" and MIKE P was able to "find some deals for us" but not a phone to call us and prevent the 2+ hours round trip on a Friday night.
And the "JUST SOLD" happened the previous day--how inconsiderate not to tell me when I spoke to you--twice!

    The dealership claims:

We understand your life is very busy and you do not have time to play games with your car dealer. Therefore, we are ready to work extremely hard to make your purchasing experience, not only quick and convenient, but also hassle free and fun! We are always here to provide any information you may need to purchase the right vehicle for you.

Really?? convenience, no games, hassle free??? I don't think so. How unprofessional of you MIKE P to play those games!

  12. Has anyone thought about pairing the new pentastar engine and the new 8 speed auto transmission for the 2013Ram truck into a jeep wrangler? Also this engine is rated at 290 HP in my 2012 Wrangler but 305 in the 2013 Ram 1500? what's the deal with that?

  13. Has anyone thought about pairing the new pentastar engine and the 8 speed auto transmission in the 2013 Ram 1500 and putting them in a jeep wrangler? also this engine is listed to have 305 HP in the 2013 1500 but in my 2012 wrangler it is rated at 290 HP, why is that?

  14. Why is the dealership service so costly? Chrysler Jeep would do well to break away from this game. Chrysler Jeep would sell 5X the amount of vehicles they currently sell if they would offer reasonable prices on labor and service. A 30,000 mile Service cost $1066.31 in California. It is basically an oil change and spark plugs. The other points on the service are cursury checks. All the American car makers could make a bold move in this arena and we would see sales of American cars soar.

At a time in our country when so many jobs have been lost to

  19. Jeeps don't seem to be the quality vehicle that they use to be. I've owned a Cherokee Sport, the regulator went on the drive side window. I duct taped it and made do.It only had 140,000 miles on it when the engine just quit. I traded it for a Grand Cherokee Limited in 2008 and since that time, I've had to replace 2 window regulators in a three week time frame and 3 tire sensors with the warning indicator now saying another one is bad. I just spoke with someone at Jeep and she said the reason there has been no recall is that we are all complaining to the wrong people. The place to call is "The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration" # 1-888-327-4236 So start calling.

  20. The windshield washer nozzle on the Wrangler is now a non-adjustable part. When standing still or a low speeds, it works fine. At highway speeds, however, the fluid stream is pushed too high by the upward air-flow hitting the windshield. Most of the fluid shoots uselessly over the top of the vehicle. I wish the design engineers would simply try driving a Wrangler at a normal highway speed and try the windshield washer. I am sure they will experience the same problem. It's a problem which on earlier Jeep models was easy to fix, since the nozzle was adjustable. If the fluid is aimed too low while stopped and at low speeds, it's not a problem, since the wipers can move the fluid higher. That doesn't work with the aim too high. I hope that this problem is fixed in future models and that customers will be able to buy replacement nozzles which are adjustable. Thank you.

    3. I couldn't agree more. I purchased a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited spent over 40K on the car and after one year it has been in and out of the shop over two months worth of issues. First it was cylinder heads that needed to be replaced on a brand new car, then all hell broke loose. Engine light would come on, gas sensor not functioning, then to top it all off, one day when i went to pick up my car I noticed a sloshing water sound so i took it back and they said oh yea we found a crack in one of the seams. My car has been the biggest nightmare ever and the worse part about it is the Chrysler Jeep Customer experience. Any corporate person just jerks you around. I am now stuck with this piece of crap car. I have been in a rental for over a month now because service has pulled out the entire dash, the carpeting all the wiring (which was all damaged by all the water that got into the frame and carriage of the car) and after having an appt with some regional chrysler rep scheduled for this week, she calls the service dept and reschedules with them for October, almost a month away and NEVER calls ME the CUSTOMER. Chrysler has an absolutely horrible customer service ethic. Some VP somewhere in the company needs to get out of the office and open their eyes to what is really going on in the company.

I could have bought a Ford or Chevy, but I wanted to stay with Chrysler, I bought a new Jeep grand in 2005, and just traded it in on this car, I will never never buy another Chrysler product again, and I have owned Chrysler's my whole life, This car will be traded in, I will take a loss, it will be worth it, if you people lie about the MPG what else are you lying about? And for a dealer to say that's just estimated, give me a brake, if that's the best you can do to cover up a lie you better try harder. Stan Steban

    1. I have a Jeep Patriot, 2013, and it loses power while driving. Imagine my surprise when this happened the first time doing 70 mph on the highway and suddenly I feel a deceleration and I can't get my speed past 20 mph. By the grace of God, I was able to get over to the shoulder and turn it off. After sitting there for about 15 minutes, I decided to turn it back on and give a shot. That seemed to work, but the problem has only gotten worse. I don't push this vehicle past 65 mph any longer, but when it's warm out, 65 degrees, this problem still occurs. This vehicle needs to be recalled and I'm certainly glad that I took that number down for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I plan on calling them to let them know about this problem as it could very easily cause an accident, especially with drivers who lack experience. How'd you like to get a call that, God forbid, you're child was in an accident because he/she lost power while driving on a major freeway. This isn't the only problem I've had with this vehicle either. There seems to be an electrical problem as well. Also, my mechanic told me I need a new catalytic converter and the gasket where the oil pan sits is shot. I had a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I sold, really cheap, to a dear friend who needed a vehicle. It's still on the road. Hey Jeep, what happened to the quality of your vehicles? My mechanic, very honest and quite reasonable, tells me it's not just the Patriot, but it's also the Liberty that was built like garbage. I would never again recommend buying a Jeep to anyone, ever!!! This vehicle needs to be recalled, immediately!!! Hey Jeep, do the right thng. By the way, another Patriot owner was having the same problem with losing power that I just wrote about above and when she took it to the dealership she was told that this vehicle wasn't meant for long journeys. WHAT!? What am I supposed to do, bring my bicycle along on a long journey and when my vehicle no longer wants to go pedal the rest of the way!? What a JOKE!!!
