  1. These beds are Air Mattresses covered by a thin layer of Foam. They are so uncomfortable and I feel like I'm camping out. Also, Rush built your business, I bet he never slept on such a low rent scam of a mattress.

    1. Total agree with everybody here. Let me tell you our experience with Sleep Number, We moved just outside Houston, Tx last Sept. Well, I was bugging my husband for a while that I think we should order one. He finally broke down & we did. We ordered it and when the delivery guys showed up, mind you we were both home & our dog was walking in and out of the bedroom, while my husband was checking on their progress periodically. I cleared the room so they could get the frame & mattress in. I moved my little night table to the corner of the room where I forgot to move my watch, ENGAGEMENT RING & a bangle bracelet on it & low & behold all of it was gone! Now, I can't prove one of them took it but there wasn't anyone else that could have. It turned out they hired some joe schmo to help with the deliveries on weekends. Well, I'm out my jewelry & didn't even get a call from these jack wagons at the store or corporate headquarters. I had to file a police report not to mention the stress & sadness of losing my property! I will NEVER recommend them EVER. Buyer beware, who knows who they hire to deliver the merchandise. I shouldn't feel guilty leaving my stuff out even though I forgot, this is MY HOUSE! They had no right to steal from me. I hope Karma comes around & kicks some A**. Thanks for reading my rant, I'm still pissed off & probably always will be.

    2. That's exactly what my husband said & back it went. The installers allegedly stole jewelry from us. A word of caution, they hire day laborers to help set up or take away. I hope they post this message. What's up with the delay on posting?

    3. My sleep number bed EXPLODED! While I was asleep during the night of July 2nd to 3rd, 2014, my bed's inflation motor mallfunctioned and continued inflating my bed until a violent explosion of the air chamber catapulted me out of the bed and unto the floor. Dazed and horrified, I felt the surface of my bed, and even in my dark bedroom, I could see and feel a huge bulge on top of the upper half of my bed. The lower half was flat as normal. My feeling was that the bed has two air chambers and that the lower half must have exploded, whille the upper half was lookking like a huge balloon. Lying on the floor, suddenly there was an ubelievable second explosion, so violent, I thought part of the ceiling had crashed down onto the bed. When I finally realized the bed's air chamber had exploded and I got my ccomposure back, I was forced to try to sleep in the big hole where air used to be. This was another disaster, because it didn't work, even after stuffing clothing and blankets into the hole.
      A subsequent call to customer service in Minneapolis, promised me replacement parts, which never arrived. The agent admitted that never had they heard of an air chamber ever exploding. Well, mine did, and I am still traumatized bythis event. I was forced to buy me a cheap, regular mattress, and have noticed that I sleep better on it, than I ever did on the sleep number bed. Lesson learned! Buyer beware!

If you bought your sleep number bed on sale, expect a looooong wait to get it, and NO response from them to let you know about it unless you call and ask,they are willing to levy the shipping cost but that is all, and act like youare talking to a cow when you ask for more, I have a bad bad feeling about these guys already,I hope I love the bed because I HATE their service already! Be aware of what you are dealing with here, and read your contract fully and carefully! Definately unhappy, and feel like I got handed a wait # and left in the wind!

I botched until they finally was willing to refund my money back but not all of it they came and remove the whole bed base and all but only trying to refund me for the bulid a bear bed nope not going for it I will be calling Corp again this morning asap as soon as they open the best beds and costmer service is from this store called seat n sleep they have better beds than sleep Number got them beat by 10miles a 10 feet pole ain't touching them at all if you want a good bed good service I suggest them all-day any day and they back up all they beds and they good prices I just bought a beauty bed set cost 1200 but after I told them how sleep Number store did me I got the set for half the price with free delivery love that store going back to her my kid's beds!! I will take sleep Number to court if I have to!

    6. My experience has been nothing but horrible with Sleep Number! First off the bed feels like you are falling off! It is not comfortable or at all like the one I tested in the store! The headboard/footboard that I purchased is not worth the price! I have yet to get comfortable with this bed. Next, comes the customer service, HORRIBLE! They keep blaming their new computer system, they have been doing this since September and we are in December now! They owe me a credit on my delivery and I have yet to se the money, and the bed was purchased in August, it is now December. I've been told by three different people that the check was on its way. How long does it take for a check to be mailed? Also, each time I have called the wait time has been anywhere from 17 minutes to 30 minutes, and only to get NO help! I am thoroughly disgusted by this company. There are beds that are better with better customer service, non-excuse making individuals out there! Don't buy one, it's not worth it!

    7. Our experience with Sleep number has been awful! After scheduling a delivery appointment and waiting for hours for them to arrive, we received a call at 7:45 pm from the delivery driver stating that they were not able to deliver our bed that night. The driver stated that customer service would contact us to reschedule. After days of hearing from no-one, my husband contacted the manager at the Geneva, IL store where we bought our mattress. He stated that someone from the company would be contacting us to resolve the issue and stated a discount would be provided for our troubles. After not hearing from anyone for another three days, we get a phone call from customer service stating that they are sorry they missed us for delivery that day....we had never rescheduled delivery and had still not spoken to anyone. My husband then cancelled the order and it's been over a week and the credit still has not gone through. I spoke to the manager at the store again who said it takes a while for the credit to go through, why I have no idea. I stated how ridiculous it is that we spent all that money and no one cares if we cancelled our order or not and that their customer service is horrible, his response to me was that they are having some problems! I would not recommend buying anything from this company ever. They obviously have a enough of business that they don't need mine which turns out good for us because if there were any problems with this mattress, I do believe they would never be resolved!!

    9. Customer service is horrible I order my bed 27 Nov. 2015 and its the next year I'm still waiting. Don't waste your time on time delays go into a store to buy a mattress. A bed that cost this much money the company should have the best service in the world.

Nadine - this message is for you-- after reading these reviews I can see I am not the only one, to finish our conversation from yesterday, 5/14/16, the bed we ordered was ps, after the new salesgirl must of relised this bed wasn't a queen style but king and she told us it came in queen because we even asked her since only my husband had the back problem was I going to be able to stay flat if he had to adjust the bed to him and she said " yes " ,, well the dirty , rusty bed that was delivered to us was a cse and not the p5. please help us here,, all I want is some restution here or the Brtter Business is going to be called in,, I actually hate this cheap made bed that cost me over $3,000.00.   4. Sleep Number, You guys have really disappointed me. I am a Sleep Number owner and I love my bed. However, if I could now drop it on your doorstep I would. The only thing I can do now is NOT recommend your bed to family and friends. Instead I will tell folks to go buy one of those foam mattresses. You guys have no guts! You no longer have my support in referring your product.

What a cowardly act for you to drop your sponsorship of Rush's radio program becaus he made comments that he later apologized for regarding the co-ed that wanted me, as a taxpayer, to pay for her birth control pills. As a 71 year old female taxpayer, I deeply resent that this co-ed and others at her university are asking me to pay for her sex life. If she wants to engage in sex, she should pay for it, not me. She knew when she enrolled at this university and they did not cover her birth control pills with their medical coverage, so, knowing that, if she wasn't willing to pay for them she should have gone to a university that did over this "benifit." I would never consider purchasing a product from you and would ask all my friends to boycott you.

    I was poised to purchase a mattress based on the ads I heard regularly on the Rush Limbaugh show, but I have now abandoned the idea. As a woman, I am offended that you would drop Limbaugh after he has apologized repeatedly. Might I suggest that you now take all monies you spent on advertising and send them to the women of Georgetown Law. They need help paying for their contraceptives. A gift of a few dozen mattresses would be thoughtful as well, but take care that they are top of the line as they will get a heavy workout.

Our constitution guarantees Freedom of Speech and I might just add your ability to do business in this Republic. I for one will pass the word to boycott Sleep Number.   19. Bought one these piece of crap beds several years ago for around $2500 and later sold it for $400.00. Even then I felt fortunate to sucker someone into taking it off my hands. Like the poster above, it always felt like I was camping and all that was missing were the mosquitos buzzing around me. Over the years I told everyone who was even considering one of these beds to pass so I figure I cost your company many sales during that time. Glad to be of help. Enjoy your looming stock plunge.

I want my money back!!! they are crooks--and I haave proof they took my money! their rep said they have nothing on their computer that says they got my money! but it's om my online bank account $692.51 is what they took. I want my money back!!!!

I am trying to return my bed, have only had it for a couple of days, they sold me sheets for 240 dollars by telling me my regular sheets would not fit the bed. they will not let me return them even though I was lied too, regular sheets fit the bed better than their sheets. This company has no integrity

  29. So far, we can't even get them to deliver their stuff to our house because they say "they have a limited number of trucks" in our area... we are 50 miles northwest of Columbus. Now when we were in the store looking at the product, there was no problem with delivery service. We were suppose to be called Monday afternoon to set up a Thursday late afternoon delivery time, but they didn't call until Tues afternoon. Then they told us they could deliver late afternoon as their drivers had to be back at the dock in Columbus by 5pm... funny that was not mentioned while we were filling out the paperwork and we were assured there would be no problems with the delivery time. Even now I'm having a tough time getting anyone to get back to me with a definitive statement.. we told them anytime Friday would be fine, but they "dont deliver this area" on Friday... then we offered Saturday, same answer. Then we offered next Monday, same answer. My wife works 3 days a week T-W-T and now they can't deliver late in the afternoon... I'm not exactly pleased to read some of the comments on here with problems with the "delivery" guys either. Maybe our order of $4K isn't big enough for them to provide customer service... I'll talk with my wife and we may just cancel the entire order.

  30. I'm so pissed at Sleep Number & will broadcast this from the roof tops. Last year when we first moved to the Houston area, we decided to buy the bed, well after paying a pretty penny for it, it was awful. We decided to return it & THEIR EMPLOYEES that that they hired to remove the bed, stole my engagement ring, bangle bracelet & watch! Can't tell you the stress & heartbreak my husband & I went through. They hire who know what kind of "day helpers" off the streets to help either set up or take away the product. We were home at the time! I mistakenly left my jewelry on the night stand that was out of the way, IN MY OWN HOUSE! They never even investigated the theft. However, we filed with the police department. For them not to even acknowledge what happened is a second slap in the face. I should protest outside their local store & let people know what they're really like. Nine months later, I'm still so upset with no restitution in sight from these idiots. Thanks for letting me vent & I hope this will help someone else.

I cannot even begin to write about our terrible journey with this company. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! Once you do, they don't care at all, but they will tell you they do!! I agree with Lori L. comments- spent 2.5 hours in the store , they could not figure out how to put the financing request through, just spent another 47 minutes on the phone to find out more about he financing even though I paid cash for the bed just to avoid spending more in the store. Still cannot get an answer so I am cancelling my order. Worst experience of my life.

  34. Sleep number has to have the worst home delivery service/warehouse stock in the world. I bought an adjustable bed and was given some sh*ty lame excuse 4 different times of why the could not deliver it when they said they would. Each time they would call the day of delivery to tell me this. Also each time I had taken down my existing bed and had moved it out of the bedroom so they could get in with the sleep number bed. This meant that I had to then move everything back and reset up my old bed. This is not a good thing to do for someone with lower back problems, but they said that they would not touch any of my furniture when they came, so likewise I had no other choice. Needless to say after all of this, I cancelled my order and bought a mattress set some where else. I will NOT ever recommend Sleep Number to anyone.

  37. My wife are so disappointed in total lack of customer service and the simple fact that the back end is clueless to what the front end of your operations are saying. Case in point, we purchased our sleep number bed and was told by your sales team that they fit all standard headboards. We recently (over the last two week) had two technicians come out, one to inspect the defect in the cover and he also found that the mattress was not mounted correctly, the second team came with a new cover a few weeks later and they too realized the brackets were not correct for a standard king headboard, In essence we have 6 inch gap and our pillows are falling behind the bed. We have called over 6 times to rectify the situation and was told, that the sales person misrepresented the information and the technicians were also not correct in their assessment. Amazing, how someone in a call center can speak about people in the field who are dealing directly (face to face) and in their home on a situation. All we are asking for is extra pillows to close the gap and a couple of sets of bedding to cover what has turned into 10 hours of phone calls to your teams and the simply fact that your customer service team needs to sharpen their focus.

  38. Really your company is so big you don't care you are screwing over your customers. I will NEVER recommend your beds to anyone. I tried to return, but was told to try a foam pad to make it comfortable. tried didn't work. Called back was sent another foam pad. Still not comfortable and called to return the bed. Was told I can't because my trial period was over. I explained my trial was extended so I could try the pads and was told I could only extend 1 time. Would've been nice to be told this. Why would I try a foam pad if I can't return the bed if it doesn't work? I was told the best they could do is charge me $199.99 to return plus another 10% to restock it. REALLY??!! You just spent over $400 to try and make me comfortable and I don't have to return the pads and that's not a big deal? Is this your way to make up that money by charging me out the ass to return my bed? Very bad customer service. So now it's either suck it up and keep a bed I can't fall asleep in or pay out the ass to return it and lose a bunch of money. Great way to keep customers

  39. Your company sponsors the Morning Show with Scott Shannon on WCBS-FM radio in NYC. Yesterday morning, the team was discussing the release of Guantanamo Diary. The author claims to have been forced to have sex with 2 female guards. Mr. Shannon repeatedly stated that this was nothing to complain about, that the prisoner hadn't seen a woman in months and would have enjoyed it. He also stated that a threesome is a wonderful opportunity, and that a man who isn't enjoying sex can't have sex.
    One of his colleagues, Patty Steele, objected, saying that no one likes to be forced, and he replied that it's different for men, and repeated that it was a wonderful opportunity for a man who hadn't seen a woman in a long time.
    I can't imagine that you want your company associated with the idea that being raped is a wonderful opportunity. Please investigate this and take appropriate action.

ATTENTION SLEEP NUMBER MANAGEMENT .Or to whom ever is concerned about the way your customer service reps treat people over the phone, as I'm still considering purchasing a sleep number because I do think it is the best bed on the market. Our budget is $5000.I called the 1-888-484-9263 number at 8:51 central time. My wife and I are going to buy a bed in the next 2 days, and I wanted to understand all the options as I was a little confused with the email adds I have been receiving ie the product line, prices, what combination would best suit our needs, The customer service rep, was a man, and his sleep number is 35.I cannot remember what he said his name was and he would not give it to me when he hung up on me. I am sure he was the only person in your company that received a call at exactly 8:51 with a 35 sleep number. He answered immediately talking at a very high rate of speed right out of the chute, interrupted me and said "Let me take control of this conversation or we will be here all day" .Right then I got a real bad feeling inside.As I asked another question, he became more impatient and rude as we went along and then said after I asked for a rundown on the product line ie starter quality to premium said in a very short and rude manner "we'd be here all day if I answered all your questions. " I didn't realize but, 9:00 pm central is when your phone banks close but now realize his biggest problem was wanting to go home. I told him we needed a split king, with the ability to raise the head independently and would consider the foot adjustment as well depending on cost etc. I asked could he give me a quick run down on the foot option. He became more short tempered and I held back until the end of the conversation, I told him that his demeanor and telling someone "We'd be here all day" or "let me take control of this conversation" were off putting to someone seriously considering buying a sleep number bed and then he hit me with his last shot.." WE HAVE PLENTY OF CUSTOMERS, DON'T YOU WORRY ABOUT THAT!!!!" and when I asked for his name and extension number, he hung up on me. I have nothing against sleep number I hope you have the recording of the conversation. 8:51 start..9:06 stop. sleep no. 35, male.I was very calm throughout the whole conversation until the end when after telling him, he was very short, seemed impatient, and off putting and treating me that way would have an influence on what bed I bought said. Sleep number didn't need me. ." WE HAVE PLENTY OF CUSTOMERS BELIEVE ME". Sleep number, this guy is costing you money. I am telling you this to prevent you from losing further business. I hope someone will take the time to figure out who in your company is conducting himself that way. I hold no malice towards sleep number. Thank you..

  42. The incompetent people who came to set up our bed said they had been trained to recognize bedbugs and they said that we had bedbugs. So although we had paid for the bed, transport, and installation, they refused to even come back in to put the bed back together (which they had taken apart specifically to look for bedbugs). Now I am 5'1" and a retired US Veteran and my fiance is a USMC veteran and a retired law enforcement officer, and is disabled. The delivery personnel refused to come back to deliver the bed until Orkin came over to spray. Orkin came and said we did NOT have, nor had we EVER had bed bugs and the few (long dead) bugs they did find were some small beetle. Fortunately Orkin was honest and did not charge us the $1000 - $1500 they quoted if we did have bed bugs. So I was hot and called and told Sleep Number they needed to immediately transport and set up our bed. OUR BED that they are HOLDING HOSTAGE because they have an incompetent delivery person who CLAIMED we had bed bugs. Well now, according to Sleep Number it is on US to get something in writing from Orkin stating that we do not have bedbugs. I told them they could use a phone number I gave them for the Orkin rep to call Orkin themselves, or they could even look the number up for themselves online, in the phonebook, whatever, and speak with the Orkin representative who refused to spray our house for ANYTHING because we have NO infestation of ANYTHING. Yes, a bug here or there, just like every other home in America, and that is absolutely normal, but nothing Orkin would spray for. By the way, Orkin - THERE is an honest company. So Sleep Number almost cost us an additional $1,500 had Orkin not been honest, but the kicker is that Sleep Number still refuses to even make the phone call to verify that they were wrong. They started this mess and refuse to do what is right and just talk to Orkin, and then deliver our bed. This is THE WORST customer service EVER and the most ludicrous company I have ever had the misfortune to work with. Bottom line is I am working with Channel Five in Minneapolis about this story, have a lawyer now and am going to sue Sleep Number, have contacted the Better Business Bureau, Angie's List, and have made comments on 3 online scam reporting agencies. I am also sending out this information to every one of my friends on facebook to be forwarded, and am telling everyone I know at work and my friends and acquaintances, especially our military and law enforcement contacts, to ensure they know how this company treats those who serve, and what kind of company this is. So Sleep Number Corporate HQ (whom I also notified about this problem and who told me they couldn't do anything unless I produced documentation stating that they are basically idiots and we do not have bed bugs in my home), stand by for heavy rolls, as we say in the Navy, because you just pissed off the wrong customer.   43. As a new owner of a very expensive sleep number bed we are very unhappy! Customer Service is non existent. Once this company gets your money forget about any service! Sleep IQ is a joke .Set up people couldn't be bothered and neither could anyone I tried to get to make this work. No one and I do mean no one from Customer Service ever calls you back! STAY AWAY FROM SLEEP NUMBER BEDS!

    1. We purchased a sleep number bed around a month ago, had it delivered two weeks ago and it is the worst bed I have ever slept on. I was "sold" the I8 with all the fancy technology and Sleep IQ, your right what a joke. I don't need a remote or App to tell me how poorly I slept, my mind and body tell me that!!
      Was concerned when we purchased about a specific frame we purchased not fitting the base but was assured we could bring it back and return it and they would take care of us. Wrong!!!! Worst corporate and in store service ever.
      Not everyone likes these beds just as other beds, so why can you return the mattress but not the frame, why can you not return any product in the bedding collection? Why do they consider pillows bedding collection and yet verbally not tell you that and tell you everything has the 100 day trial period, but when you confront them about it they refer you to the terms and conditions of your purchase.
      Will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau for defrauding consumers. Lost $3,000 because I can't return the base, I should never have been sold to begin with. They have scammed my hard earned money!

  44. I keep getting this message (6+ times over 3 days) "SOME REQUIRED FORMS NEED YOUR ATTENTION" ... "Your password reset link has expired Please submit your request to update password again"... after several resets this comes up "SOME REQUIRED FORMS NEED YOUR ATTENTION" ... what does that mean???? I have also tried to call (888-484-9263) and your agents have either hung up on me stating I need to be transferred after holding for 29 minutes or more on four different calls. I am getting very frustrated and probably going to send everything back regardless of monetary loss. Plus ... I have heard on every call your new system upgrades have been in works for the past 6 weeks WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM getting me A CUSTOMER SOME DECENT SUPPORT ???? Last time ... what do I have to do to get into my regular Sleep Number account when your system will not let me change my password or create a new account?

    Right now after 23 minutes on the phone waiting Your agent Daisy #35 who just happens to be the one who hung up on me a couple of days ago (she stated she keeps notes on all call and my account had no notes .. because she hung up on me and didn't finish our call) ... after explaining the issue she tried to transfer me again ... but I said the web page "Recover password page" has her phone number for support and she should be able to help ... again she said she only trouble shoots issues ... I asked for her supervisor (Martisha) who also wanted to transfer me .... I asked to speak to Martishas' supervisor and am now waiting (on the phone) to see what happens ... started phone call at 0937 and it is 1017 ... 40 minutes, 2 agents and still holding ... NOT A GOOD WAY TO RUN A COMPANY ... Finally (another 8 minutes) ... no Martishas supervisor but Daisy will get a digital team to e-mail me within 24 hrs with something ... not the best solution when I had an agent on the phone live to solve my problem (reset my account number ... simple huh) ... but what do I do now that my $500 shipment of sheets is due to be delivered and I can't get into my account to track the shipment delivery date and time (Daisy looked and said it hasn't shipped yet as of today .. so no delivery date)? ... STAY HOME FOR THE NEXT 3-5 days??? ... I do have a life other than waiting for a shipment!!!

    I purchased the sleep number 8 years ago. Loved it for 6 months except for the fact that it seemed to have to be adjusted all the time. I called the company and the woman that I spoke to was very rude! I asked for a technician to be sent out to check the bed and she informed me that I had to do the servicing myself! A kit would be sent to me and I had to fix the problem. We screamed at each other for half and hour because after spending the amount of money on this bed I felt this was poor customer service.
    Well, I had to FIX the problem!
    Last year the stupid pump stopped working. I called and had to spend $150 + to get a new pump and OF COURSE I had to install it myself. Fast forward one year.....the damn pump is out AGAIN. Yes, I checked the electrical connection. Yes, I checked the pump connection to the mattresses. Yes, I checked to be sure that there were no leaks. Yes, I checked the battery in the remote.
    How many pumps am I going to have to replace on the bed that is suppose to last 20+ years????
    So SLEEP NUMBER ......ARE YOU GOING TO BE PROFESSIONALS AND SEND ME A NEW PUMP AT NO CHARGE SINCE THIS IS ONLY A YEAR OLD OR AM I GOING TO HAVE TO ARGUE WITH YOU????????

  46. Very disappointed. I purchased a mattress last week and they told me 2 weeks for delivery, they had a big sales event and they were behind. I just called because I hadn't heard from them on scheduling the delivery and I was told their delivery system is down and has been for weeks. They have not and will not schedule any deliveries until it comes back up. They have no ETA for when this will happen. Why didn't the store tell me that when I paid for a mattress I cannot get delivered??

  47. Unbelievable! In the last few weeks I have spent over 3 hours on hold with this company. We got new carpet and because we have a bed with electronics the installation came to a screeching halt. We then felt we should have "professionals" move the bed out of the bedroom and the cost to do that was $191 with tax. They took our money on a Monday after an hour on the phone, but that only meant that someone would call us in a few days to schedule. Friday they called and said they would be there in 2 hours. What? OK, day totally rearranged to make it work. Carpet installed, so we called to pay another $191 to have the bed put back into the house and set up. Day 6 I called them and 45 minutes later they said I was scheduled for someone to call me in a couple days. Scheduled to call? Day 8 I called again and found out the service was cancelled but they didn't know if a human canceled it, or it was just a glitch. Sparing all the details I was on the phone for over an 1-1/2 hours and talked to 6 different people, and was disconnected twice, and I hung up on their person once. Person #3 gave me a service order number, and person #4 gave me nothing but grief. Service order number was not right and he blamed me, told me it would be 4 weeks from today before they could get it scheduled. I asked to talk to a supervisor, and he said there was no supervisor for me to talk to. I said all the apologies I kept hearing meant nothing, and requested a refund. No refunds once I paid for the service. What service? After I hung up on Mr. Nope I called back and talked to yet another person who then scheduled a date to move our bed back into the house and get it set up after she talked to her supervisor. Guess there was a Supervisor there! I now have a date scheduled for TWO WEEKS from now. $400 paid for Sleep Number to disassemble and reassemble our bed, and the worst customer service ever. It's a joke that the CEO with a sleep number of who cares comes on the phone to apologize for their horrible service during this transition. Quit apologizing and do what needs to be done, bend over backwards to make things right during the worst computer transition ever, and focus on the customers who paid thousands of dollars to purchase a Sleep Number bed. You can bet your stock options that I'll never buy another Sleep Number bed, and even though Sleep Number doesn't care about our one sale, our one sale last time ended up being FIVE sales for them. Maybe those FIVE sales now mean something because that's how word of mouth works!

  49. I have on order a sleep number bed and am so sorry for that purchase. I have a wife on hospice care and needed a queen size bed to replace my king size sleep # . the sleep # boxes arrived without a packing slip or any notification that this was a partial shipment.A few days after arrival i had the person i had sold the king size bed to come and pick it up. I hired someone to come and put the new bed together low and behold there was no pump no air sacks and no cover to put the foam into,that will come in a later shipment but customer service cant say when. Now I have a very ill wife 83 years old on hospice care sleeping as best she can in a recliner. Buyer beware a reputable co does not bill until they ship, sleep number billed my acct the day I placed the order over bthree weeks ago.

  50. I ordered a mattress cover for our Eastern King Size bed. I have been waiting now for over a month and I keep getting excuses why the cover has not been shipped. First it was, "well it is a special order" No, its not, I was later told that the mattress covers are always in stock for my size bed. Then it was, well, it is being picked up by UPS right now, here is the tracking number, which turned out to be a bogus one. Now I can't get through. I want my money back, which by the way, you charged immediately instead of waiting until it shipped like most honest companies do. I am disabled on a very limited income and this is terrible. Your Customer Service is the poorest I have ever encountered for a company of this size. Please cancel this order, I will find a different bed.

Received email conformation with instructions right away. Was told it would be three weeks for parts to arrive. Only received top deck panels after 5 weeks. Still waiting on the rest to be shipped. Called customer service, did chat line and inquired about shipment through facebook plenty of times with the same run around answer. I even called the CEO/President and left a message on how disappointed I'm with my order. Still waiting on Ms. Shelley Ibach to return my call. The Corporate Phone Number is 1-763-551-7000.

  52. Without a doubt the worst company I've dealt with. When you call Customer Service it's a good 45 minutes + to get someone on the phone. After just going through the wait the agent couldn't find my order and interesting enough was not able to use the order number as a mechanism to find our order. She than put me on hold and 10 minutes later I was disconnected
    Called back to their corporate line, got the operator and the best she could do was transfer me to a supervisor's voicemail and offer to send customer service an email in an attempt to get someone to call me.

  53. I now know why there are so many complaints agains this company. They are quick to take your money but fail to deliver the product. They have internal communications issues and that just cost them a cancellation of my order. I took the time to elevate the issue and even the managers are apathetic towards the poor customer support. All I wanted was for them to talk to the delivery department to update my order they had wrong that was changed over 2 weeks ago. The order the customer service department had was correct and the order the delivery department had was wrong. Not one person took ownership, I don't get how the company's computers don't communicate between them and the only way to get a correction is via email. How do you not care about fixing such a small issue and they didn't give a dam about loosing a sale. So long Sleep Number, keep this up and your doors will close. After reading all the reviews I agree.

  57. I am very disappointed with the customer service. We ordered our bed after many years of trying to decide if it was worth 5500.00. We had a delivery date set up and when I did not get the call the day before I called. I was than informed that there was a "shipping delay" they would have a supervisor call me. After 4 hours I called to find out what was going on. I was than informed too bad so sad, supervisors take 48 hours to call. They also told me that while others who ordered after I did will be getting there beds before us. Now mind you I work in Healthcare and had to jump thru hoops to get the time off for delivery, which is now not happening but the woman hung up on me so as of this tome I still have no delivery date! What kind of business has this kind of delivery policy? Do you customers not mean anything to you? I thought it was strange that it would take 3 weeks to get the bed but 6 weeks or more is unacceptable especially considering how I paid for this bed at time of the order. Corporate needs to do an overhaul of this.

  58. I am truly amazed at the appalling customer service after making such a high dollar purchase (over $5K). We were told, and our receipt reflected, we would get a call to confirm delivery 2-3 days before arrival. Fast forward to two days before delivery, no one reached out to us so we called. It's been an all day ordeal. We could not get a confirmed delivery time, no returned call as promised, and when we called back again several hours later, were left on hold for over 30 min. There were inconsistencies between what we were told at the store and by the rep, i.e. their delivery notification policy. We quickly became very uneasy about this purchase. They did not follow through at all and their responses to us proved they simply did not care. After much frustration, we suggested cancelling the order and the rep simply said "okay." It amazes me there are pages upon pages of complaints, including not receiving a response from the CEO, with no evidence of improvement or care by leadership about the company's reputation or how they treat those who invest in their product. I am truly baffled by how this company stays in business. Spending this kind of money on a bed, and their substandard accessories (bed skirt for us), you would expect much better. Wish I had seen this page before purchasing. I would have saved a lot of time, frustration, and headache.

You can never get away with anything less than a 20-30 wait time only to have their "help" give you a different reason why you won't receive your part any time soon. BTW, Sleepnumber, I've been waiting almost 6 months and I've not even had the bed a year. One such excuse was that they were waiting for me to ship my mattress back. WHAT!!! After spending close to $3000 and they expect me to sleep on the floor while they decide on which millenium they'll ship out my new mattress. They have got to out of their stinking mind. Ask to speak to a supervisor, yeah right. I'm so thoroughly disgusted with this company I could just throw up.

  60. Have been dealing with Sleep Number and their lack of customer service since November. Their excuse of a new computer system doesn't cut it in this day and age. Get it together. Waiting over 30 minutes for someone to take my call every time I call customer service is not service. You have incorrectly billed me with your credit card provider and cant figure out how to correct it. I am telling everyone I know and everyone to spread this message on Facebook that dealing with your company is not worth the small increase in bedding comfort over others. If this message is actually seen, your first order of business before taking any more orders should be to get your internal shit together.

WAS TOLD THEY WOULD SEND NEW BEDS AND THE PEOPLE WOULD COME AND PUT THEM TOGETHER ALSO TOLD TO USE RUG TAPE ON THE FOAM TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. WAITING FOR THE NEW BEDS.   62. My wife and I purchased our bed from the Tacoma Mall store in 2013. The bed we purchased, for well over $7000 before sales tax, was a king with massage and vertical displacement unit. Right away, the displacement unit/massage part got very strange and was malfunctioning in a variety of ways. I called customer support and was told to call another number for the massage unit company. Here is a hint and a half for your butt there is a problem. When you buy a product this expensive, there should be no second calls. This must be yet another republican owned, greed driven company. To date, I am suffering from another problem with the massage/displacement unit and now my wife's side of the bed is flat every morning. I called customer support again and must say I was gut wrenchingly dreading it. They told me to troubleshoot the problem. It was then that I really realized I'd purchased a Yugo with a Rolls Royce price. I explained to them I am disabled but that seemed to be of no consequence to them. I was so P.O.ed, I tried to get ahold of someone in charge. The person I spoke with told me she was the highest escalation point and to call another phone number if that wasn't good enough. I called that number and heard nothing until I called the corporate offices when I was able to speak to another person who said she was the highest escalation point (I thought to myself: hmm, that's peculiar - second time I've heard that line). Bottom Line: I had to trouble shoot anyway; painful as it was. Now in two weeks or more it should be fixed. I get to tell my wife that tonight - don't you wish you were me? My next step is to call the massage people and do the work of the Yugo (opps, I mean Sleep Number) people and chase down another problem with another company with a different arrival date. I have nothing but TIME. Keep checking back and I'll let you know how this all work and how many eons I'm waiting. FYI - I did call the CEO (1-763-551-7000) and left a message for her. Think I'll get a call back?

  63. We purchased a Sleep # Bed in Nov. 2015. Today's date is Feb. 18, 2016. We were to finally receive the frame for the bed after they had "lost/misplaced" it. One of the delivery men brings in part of the frame and shows us that it has a rip/gouge/tear, [whatever you want to call it], in it. We want to cancel the frame for our bed and get our money back.   65. I'm another one who says do your research and go find another company to purchase your bed from. We have had our bed for quite some time and a couple of years ago, the pump went out and I called and had it replaced. Oh I should mention at the time I purchased my bed, I asked about the warranty policy and was told it was covered 100% for the lifetime of the bed (or 25 years). I was excited about that and asked them to confirm this once again (we ordered via the phone and I realized a couple of years ago, I never got a copy of the warranty just the finance paperwork. Well, we are now a couple of years after getting a new pump at no cost and our remote quit working so I called to get a new remote and it was discovered that it isn't the remote but the pump so customer service said so let's get you a new one ordered and we went through confirming my address etc and that's when she asked me for my payment information for the $283 which was the discounted price for the pump. When I asked why I had to pay when it was under warranty she explained how the warranty works, well that may be well and good but this pump should have been under a different warranty and should have been covered 100%. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB also and will keep up my smear campaign on their facebook page. I would file a suit against them also but in my opinion it's isn't worth my time or money, I would rather spend more and go get a new bed with a different company who cares about their customers. This one sucks.

  67. This bed and especially the customer service are horrible. My bed was 18 months old when the trouble began; the pump stopped working; they sent out a new one, but we had to install it (NOTE: THE WARRANTY DOES NOT INCLUDE LABOR, SO YOU BETTER BE ABLE TO DO WORK YOURSELF); then installing and after spending 3-4 hours and calls to customer service and the local store, the remotes never worked. They sent out new remotes, but they were the wrong ones. I finally got the company to send out a couple service techs, and it took them an hour to figure out and fix the remotes. They only worked for a couple days, then all they could do was give me some procedures over the phone to try and fix the problem myself. When the techs were here, we discovered the foam pad had a 12 inch crack. They sent out new ones, but again for me to repair. It has now been well over a month and the damn bed is in an up right position and impossible to sleep in. Now I can't get the corp. customer service supervisor to return my call. Beware this company and product. My case is about to get very ugly.

CALLED IN TO CUSTOMER SERVICE, PLACED ON HOLD FOR 15 MINUTES, THEN ANOTHER 15 MINUTES AND AGAIN FOR ANOTHER LONG WAIT TIME - THE END RESULT WAS TWO HOURS WITH NO RESOLUTION; THE BED/FRAME WARRANTY COMPANY HUNG UP ON ME. HOW RIDICUOUS IS THIS! FOR AN EXPENSIVE KING BED WITH DUAL MOVING SIDES - CHEAP BED SHEETS NOT WORTH THEIR VALUE - BED FRAME THAT MAKES METAL SCREECHING SOUNDS WHEN YOU MOVE OR BUMP IT SLIGHTLY - THE (COOL) PILLOWS THAT DO NOT STAY COOL - SLEEP NUMBER, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND SO-CALLED WARRANTIES ARE WORTHLESS, NON-FRIENDLY AND RUDE! WE ARE ENTITLED TO A COMPENSATION OF NEW BED FRAME, NEW PILLOW AND NEW BED SHEET LINENS, ETC.
