    2. If NAPA has the "know how", why would they allow Michael Waltrip to damage
ATTENTION: Thomas C. Gallagher, and All Managers Nationwide
Nascar's credibilty. I will close all corporate accounts with NAPA and ALL of my shops will purchase parts from other vendors!! To be associated with a person and pay him over 20 million a year is outragious. NAPA should not sponsor MWR and cut all ties. There are a list of other teams, Denver based "Furniture Row" that have made the Chase the right way, the earned it by doing things correct. I challenge any NAPA customer to take business elsewhere. My corporate account spent int 2012 with NAPA was well over 125,000. WE WILL TAKE OUR BUSINESS to Carquest or Pepboys. Somebody with honest business sense!!

    3. Due to your decision to no longer deal with Micheal Waltrip racing. we no longer will deal with Napa auto parts. we have joined many other auto repair shops and chains to boycott your decision. so far it will cost your company 11 million dollars and rising as we have others join us. It is nascars way of doing the championship that has caused this issue not micheal waltrip racing. Not sorry for your losses...

    4. Though I can't threaten to hurt your company financially as I am just a single customer. I will no longer shop at or support any driver you sponsor in NASCAR moving forward. Martin Truex Jr. is a stand up guy that was caught in a very bad situation and your decision to walk away from him is wrong. Though MWR made poor decisions so did many other teams throughout the year, I would like to see you as a major corporate sponsor pressure NASCAR to deal with their inconsistencies which I feel are leading to many teams pushing limits they should not be.

    5. I, along with many others will NEVER darken a NAPA store again. Racing is racing......because NASCAR chose to "bend the rules" for Gordon, does not make it a felony for MWR.....MWR did nothing more than Hendrick teams allowing Gordon to pass them time and time again..for POINTS....How is it, everyone can only see the mistake MWR made and yet allow everyone else to skate free. NAPA was in auto racing for years...you know the score....so you think this protects you....Wrong.....many of us will never shop you again....no matter WHO you sponser..simply for your actions to MWR..and believe me...I'm not necessarily a MWR fan.

    6. I guess Napa DOES know how. They know how to do the right thing. I am overwhelmingly impressed with the integrity that Napa has shown by choosing to leave MWR. We as a people have learned to emotionalize and justify bad behavior so I am applauding Napa for making the tough decision to sever their relationship. I am happy that our sport is sponsor driven. Next time I am in need of auto parts Napa will be my destination.

With this being said, Napa is a wonderful contributor to NASCAR and they sport would be lessor without you. I do hope to see backing another team next year.

    8. I am very disappointed in NAPA 's decision to drop MWS racing/ Two wrongs do not make a right. Why would you punish DMartin TruexD? He didn't do anything wrong. You have shown very poor judgement in this. I will not use your parts again. Remember America loves when someone apolizes when they are wrong, so step up and be forgiving.

    9. I too am very disappointed that Napa had decided to pull their sponsorship from Michael Waltrip Racing. MWR should not be penalized because they were stupid in broadcasting their intentions. They all do it! Please reconsider....if not, your company will suffer....

    11. I know this is late, but I know people very close to Martin and the MWR staff. The thing is you guys never heard Martin call his crew chief that he needed a caution. It happened 3 or 4 times over and over then finely they get what the asked for. So please don't put blame on NAPA. I think they did the right thing.
NAPA you guys should step up and through a sponsor on Ron hornadays truck for some races.I would love to see him go for the cup one more time with your name on the truck. Just my thought

  5. Napa has a many defective parts and I am tired of taking parts back and then being treated rudely by the assistant manager. Napa does not have a workable part and refuses to refund my money so I can get the part that does work. They will not be recommended by me, my first and last time dealing with them.

  11. I HAVE BEEN A NAPA INDEPENDENT OWNER FOR 20 YEARS, AND THE RED
TAPE ON SENDING PARTS BACK IS A BI---! THERE IS ALWAYS AN EXCUSE OF WHY THEY CANT GIVE ME CREDIT ON HALF THE PARTS THEY SELL ME EVEN WHEN THEY SAY TO RETURN IT. ESPECIALLY ON OBSOLET ITEMS. I END UP DOING ALOT OF RETURNS EVEN THO NAPA WONT TAKE IT BACK FROM ME. ITS THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP MY CUSTOMER BASE FROM LEAVING MY STORE. WHEN I STARTED WITH NAPA THEY HAD SOMTHING CALLED CUSTOMER SATISFACTION GUAR. BUT HAVE LOST SIGHT OF THIS YEARS AGO. MY WHERHOUSE GENERAL MANAGER HAS NO COMAPASSION OR CARES ABOUT US INDEPENDENTS ALL THEY SEEM TO WANT OUT OF ME IS ONLY MONEY!!!!! AND TO SELL SELL SELL THEY JUST DO NOT CARE ABOUT US HAVEING TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS,
AND DEFENTLY DO NOT LIKE TO TAKE ANYTHING BACK. ALWAYS AN EXCUSE BOX IS RIPPED PACKAGE HAS BEEN OPENED NL CLASS ECT.ECT.THE ONLY ADVISE IS TO FIND A CORPORATE OWNED STORE WHERE THEY TAKE CARE OF THERE OWN, OR THEY MAY CARE LESS
BECAUSE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU. LIKE AN INDEPENDENT WOULD.
I AM JUST ABOUT READY TO TELL THEM TO SHOVE THERE SIGN ON MY STORE UP SOMEONES ASS AND NOT CARRY NAPA ANYMORE, THE PAPER WORK THEY CREATE I COULD LET GO AT LEAST ONE SECRATARY. AND ONE OR COUNTER PERSNELL WHICH IS USUALLY DEALING WITH THERE RED TAPE ALSO, THEY DO HAVE A DECENT COMPUTOR SYSTEM BUT
WITH A 300 DOLLAR A MONTH SOFTWARE FEE THEY FORGOT TO TEACH US THE IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT THE COMPUTOR. LIKE HOW TO OPERATE IT TO ITS FULLIST 2YEARS OLD AND STILL LEARING INDIRECTLY ON HOW TO USE IT. AND WITH A BILLION DOLLAR CORP. YOU WOULD THINK OUR WEARHOUSE WHICH I USUALLY ONLY CALL WITH PROBLEMS THEY CREATED THEY CANT AFFORD A 1-800 NUMBER.......

    1. I drove for napa delivering their parts with napa and with this contractor they have
now, because most dc's have rid themselves of company drivers.
Napa has always done this. Napa likes to tell its independent stores what to buy, when to buy
and sometimes you may order one ctn of oil and they'll ship a whole pallet and tell you, oh why don't you just keep it and try and sell it. Napa carries what I call "boomerang freight" it goes out, and I mean they ship a lot of freight but they don't sell it, 50% comes back as class, but it looks good on the sales. napa Memphis has to be one of thee worst.

  13. So there is a NAPA on Nacogdoches rd in San Antonio TX that once was the golden child in this market, that is until the regional managers here started diddling with the female employees having affairs and hand selecting douch bags to work in select stores because their intentions are to run them into the ground so they have a valid excuse to close several stores because they (current regional mgr) wants to open napa's in places like drive time and other fly by night shady car lots. (lets give an example, woman hired no experience what so ever, doesnt know the difference between a spark plug and freeze out plug, ta daaaa less that 6 months in still none the wiser of an employee, driver of the year for all of san antonio tx? really? oh shes still with the company but just as dumb as ever. they are intentionally running napa here in san antonio(corp stores, independants are just fine) into the ground.. what a slimy slimy company, and the sad thing is there probably will nothing be done bout it and several good honest hard working people will suffer due to a couple districts that cant keep their dick's in their pants...

  15. Napa auto tech of the year should be an actual Tech not a shop owner who a salesman nominates because he spends money...of course an absentee owner volunteering and traveling could be reconized ,but not tech of the year. The tech of the year should be a guy working on the cars and deserves the benifits of the new tool box ect.

  17. Do not take your car to Master Muffler & Auto Care in Hermitage,Tn., which is a Napa repair shop. I took my 1987 Escort wgn in for cv boots, tune-up and brakes. I told Samuel Owens, owner, I needed hard pad on the brakes and autolite resistor plugs installed. He put organic pads and platinum plugs in. I was getting 20 mpg before I took my car there. When I picked up my car, it was missing, noisy. and had a vibration it did not have previously. Later I found out my horn and brakes lights d/n work after a police officer stopped me for no brake lights. I told him about this and he stated "no big deal. Leave the car here & I'll them up tommorrow". They installed a horn button which caused a buzzing noise that caused the car not to start and run. Later, without any equipment to check the car, he cut a wire he thought was making the noise without my permission. That made the car worse. After trying to fix my car for 6 weeks, I had the car towed to Firestone, where I should have taken my car in the 1st place. The mechanic found vacuum leaks, stopped up pcv, had to install an ignition coil, and later, found the computer and cooling fan needed to be replaced. If I had taken my car to Firestone, I would still have a good running car and not a car that will not start or even run because when th buzzing noise starts, it quits and will not start again. At least, Firestone did get the car to run for a short time. At Master Muffler, Sam said my car was like that when I brought it in to be serviced. What a con man he is! Firestone had kept my car running for 18 years! DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO BE SERVICED AT MASTER MUFFLER & AUTO CARE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR IN GOOD RUNNING CONDITION!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Wow, after reading all these comments. I'm starting to think that employees at the franchise level wouldn't have any recourse for complaints against franchise owners. I work for a franchise that has several family members in the hierarchy. They're in charge of an auto parts store and to my knowledge have no background or education in the automotive field. And they seem to be fixated on the idea of the fewer employees they have the more money they can make.

  19. I recently visited the local napa store where I live in Connellsville,Pa. I have had my doubts about going in there again because the first time I went in, the whole atmosphere sucked! The employees there didn't seem like they really cared. This recent visit has confirmed that I will not go back there ever again. My most recent experience was very upsetting. There was a new kid at the counter and he is trying to learn, that's okay, we all had to learn. I don't need to go to a part store that in the past at other Napa stores I have had excellent help and always thought well of them, but when the person that is helping a new employee stands there and begins to question me as to whether I know what engine I have in my car (that I do all the work on for the last three years) and try to sell me a part that he is not sure if it will work or not, then maybe he should not work there and really shouldn't teach anyone. Never had that happen at other Napa stores or any parts store for that matter. A specific part either fits or it doesn't! I always thought Napa was a top notch store. Very disappointing!

Wanted to buy us parts for my auto project but just cant afford OEM and had to settle for less quality. Got what I paid for, junk.

  22. I use my 03 Ford explorer for business. I average 60-70000 miles a year. I purchased this truck new.

In July of 20012 after 185000 mile the factory AC compressor failed. My mechanic put in a NAPA AC.
That compressor went out in October of 2012. The mechanic put in another NAPA AC because it was warrantied. When the compressor went out it sent metal through the rest of the system. I had to pay and extra $335 for that.

That new AC lasted till September of 2013. Out of warranty because of the miles (24/24) so I had to pay for a new AC plus labor @ $1200. I was offer a new ford factory one at $300 more. I should have taken it at that time. This one lasted 2 weeks.

At this point I told my mechanic I did not want another NAPA compressor put in my truck. After several discussions with the shop they put one in anyway. Against my request not to. I wanted my money back and was going to take it to the Ford dealer. I'm sure they new if I picked it up I would be going after them for the invoice from the dealer. The Mechanic is another issue and I won't mention names here because this will be going to court.

So now I'm on my forth AC from NAPA in a 14 month period. I know this one will fail as well. It's just a matter of time.
When it does I will be taking NAPA to court for all my expenses and lost wages. Naming the Mechanic in the suit as well.
It seems at this time my attorney tells me I can't do anything because they put the new one in under warranty.
    Don't buy NAPA
Anyone with a good contact for Napa I'd appropriate it if you would contact me with it. This is the first of many post I will be doing and intend on some how going after NAPA for the cost of repairs and lost income.

I would love to see a Nappa logo in nascar soon. All the best from an old man a fan of racing and nappa.

  25. Everyone makes a mistake, MWR did and was punished by NASCAR. What you did in dropping them was wrong, in my view that is as bad or worse than what MWR did. I stated earlier you lost my business, just making sure you got my point.

  26. I believe Napa is being opportunistic. All last year rumors flew that Napa was not happy that their car was not making the Chase. They applied alot of pressure on MWR if they were to sign again. Then just yesterday, Nationwide announced their intent to leave the Nationwide Race. Leaving a HUGE sponsor opportunity opening, just right for someone with big bucks. Now today Napa pulls out of MWR taking their money and tearing up the contract, and wants to blame Michael for it. I just read all of these reviews, They date back a long timme. Seems alot people have not been happy with you business having nothing to with Racing. What is your true agenda? what was it they made you throw Martin Truex under the bus? You didn't just leave MWR, you spit on Truex.

    ReplyDelete
  27. you know reading all the other posts I'm almost glad taht NAPA was stupid enough to drop MWR....but REALLY NAPA...you are dropping a good race team because one or two employees made a bad decision in over 9 years? REALLY!!!! And they were the only ones involved....not that that matters...but if one of your emplyees makes a bad judgement call are you going to fire ALL employees...I think not! At least Michael has better management skills....he stood behind his emplyees right or wrong at least publically...and admitted that had he been standing there he would have made the same call...not on the 15, but on the 55 car! He admitted the mistake, apologized and moved on...more than I can say for NAPA! I won't be shopping NAPA for ANYTHING...obviously your word is meaningless!

  30. I am very disappointed in NAPA dropping sponsorship to Martin Truex, Jr. He is the ONLY one of MWR that was doing his job and he, along with probably about 100 employees will lose their job at the end of this season. NAPA should be ashamed of themselves. I don't know how you can justify cutting your contract by two years. I sincerely hope you have to pay through the nose to get out of this contract, but you are probably like Rick Hendrick, you have a loophole and it won't cost you any money (so you think); or lose any employees over this. NO MORE NAPA FOR ME EVER!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I believe that Michael Waltrip has been the best sales representative this company has ever had. Now, due to mistakes made by underlings in his own outfit, NAPA has seen fit to run like scurrilous yellow dogs as fast as they can, away from him. He gave you nothing but the best, but due to (stockholders?) or (board of directors?) whatever reason, you have shown yourselves to be just like your products, overpriced with no staying power or stamina to stand the test of stress. You could have shown the world your disapproval by chastising and fining MWR, that would have made a good impression. But instead you chose to show the worst side of your corporation, and I believe in my heart your stockholders will suffer in their pocketbooks instead of increasing their income with the fines and as well as the good will of NASCAR racing fans and mechanics everywhere. It may be too late for a rethink of this situation, but for the financial situation as well as the good will of people you should.
