Suggestion for a TJ Maxx in Farmington Missouri

Rated 3.0 out of 5
May 17, 2023

I want to suggest a new site for a store. Farmington Missouri is a growing community with lots of surrounding towns that would support any of your stores! Farmington is 80 miles south of St. Louis and 70 miles north of Cape Girardeau. We have to drive long distance to shop at your stores which a lot of us like to do. Please check us out. You’re missing out on a great opportunity!!!

TJ Maxx Return Policy

Rated 3.0 out of 5
June 3, 2023

I recently lost my husband of 54 years to pancreatic cancer. We found three new leather bags; a backpack, saddle bag and duffle with tags, that he purchased but we couldn’t locate the receipts.

He was a motorcycle rider and purchased them from TJ Maxx and Marshalls. They were returned for a refund and were accepted with no problem. Subsequently, in going through his closet, which I had been reluctant to do, I located among his clothes two items; a thermal top priced at $7.99 and sweatpants priced at $9.99. When I attempted to return those items on May 19, 2023, I was given a notice that my return was declined without a receipt. I called and spoke to a representative who stated I had to wait 6 months before I could return them. I requested a Supervisor call me to discuss this issue and I left in tears. To date, I have not heard from anyone regarding this matter. After being a customer for so long I was mortified, embarrassed and humiliated that I had to go through this over items totaling less than $20. I understand policies are in place to stop people from abusing the system however that was not my personal situation and I felt as though some discretion and allowance could have been made under the circumstances. It was hard enough just bringing in the items without having to be treated as if it was a criminal act. Please take into consideration situations like mine in the future before being so hasty to comply with just company policy statements. I would have preferred speaking to the manager in private to explain and have that person make a determination as to whether or not to overrule the policy and provide a refund rather than the manner in which I was hastily dismissed. Although I have made purchases at Home Goods since then, I am very leery about purchasing from Marshalls or TJ Maxx. My last clothing purchases were made at Macys. and Chico’s online.
