  1. You people should be more careful when you put your name on a hotel. The place I stayed at in West Memphis Ar was filthy and unkept. It had an offensive odor and was just dirty top to bottom. Send them a vaccum that works they need it. The burn holes in the carpet, bed spreads and blankets were numerous. The paper thin towels were more indicative of a flop house instead of a Quality Inn. I suggest you inspect that "Hole"tel and pull your name off the front of it.

    1. I will NEVER go back to one of these hotels again! Myself and 26 other family members stayed at this hotel in Moorehead Kentucky and more than half of us left with lice and bedbugs!!!! It was a very dirty and had alot of electric and water problems. They also served spoiled waffle mis 3 days in a row and I told them about it and they would not change it. When we told them about the bedbug bites they said "ohh your rooms have them too?". I witnessed a family of 3 leave the hotel because of bed bugs and they had to leave all their stuff behind and left in their underwear because it was so bad! I could not believe it! I am contacting the health department and anyone else i can to get that hotel closed down untill its fit for people to stay in. Please if anyone else has had these problems please post them because i am using these comments to get something done about this company!

    2. I agree with above! Had extended stay at Quality Inn in Big Spring Tx due to my job.Over 3 months Dec 2012 to March 2013. Stayed in 3 different rooms all with unsatisfactory qualities(maybe that where they justify the quality in there name because i failed to see it in any other aspect of my stay). First noticed bathroom door would not stay shut, would frequently pop open and i feel this is important when rooming with fellow employees. There free Wi-Fi is a joke to say the least. Continental Breakfast was the same every morning till i quit going, featuring cold powdered egg's and either no or cold coffee. There were electrical outlets in all 3 rooms that did not work, not to mention in 2 rooms when you turned off the bath room light the fire alarm would go off for one good honk.In one room they had the microwave and mini fridge running off a undersized household ext cord running from counter (where none of the 2 outlets worked)to an outlet 5 feet away. The door key card had to be updated near daily. And in addition to a spider bite on one of my toe's while sleeping my MP3 player was stolen by the cleaning staff.

    4. My family stayed at the Quality Inn in Midtown Savannah, GA twice. The first time in June of 2013 the walls were dirty, blankets and bedspreads were dirty. We complained upon checked-out.

We decided to give it another try last weekend. Dirty walls in the room, mold stain 12 x 5" behind the toilet tank in bathroom, broken lampshade, dirty blankets. Then to add insult to injury, the maid comes in to clean and must have used a dirty rag as the mirror was completedly smeared all the way across.

Upon check-out I asked for a questionnaire. The clerk didn't even care about my complaints and said there was no such form.

If this is QUALITY, I'm not going for it again!

I am still scratching from the bug bites I received from the fleas that were in my room.
I travel extensively for work and this is the first time I have ever suffered an experience like this.
More so, when I went to the lobby and told the young gentleman who was on duty about the bugs in my room (At the time I didn’t know what they were – bed-bugs or fleas All I knew was that I had bites all over me but mostly on my legs.) he told me he had some insecticide I could use. He told me, and I quote, “I think this stuff kills ants and roaches.” So now I get the option to become the hotel’s exterminator. How nice. I told him I wanted at a minimum a new, non-bug infested room and that I wanted to talk to the manager. He explained to me that the manager did not come in till 1000 am and left early. Since I was in town on business and had to work I could not be there to talk to the manager at his convenience and therefore requested that he be told of my room situation, and wait for me to return at 5:00 pm.
Upon returning that day there was no manager but a nice young lady at the desk who had no idea that I had a complaint. I went to my new room and checked as best as I could for bugs. I did not discover any with my inspection. Till the next morning when I awoke to more bites and the actual culprits on my legs. I captured two of them and took them to the lobby where I found the same young man I talked to the previous morning. Hey, I told him. Do you see this?! I put them on the counter for him to see and they promptly jumped away. He told me that he told the manager and that they sprayed my first room. And then he says, “I told the manager, but he still put another lady in your first room, I don’t know why , and she had the same complaint about the bugs. I had to move her too. But we’re going to spray the room and take care of it.”
I guess that’s all good and well, however this didn’t fix my dilemma at all. I again requested to see the manager, who again wasn’t available, and who was not available again when I returned from work. This was late Thursday and I was checking out at 3:00 am the next day in order to catch an early flight so I didn’t bother changing rooms again. I mean really, what’s the point? So I could get another bug infested room? So I didn’t bother sleeping that night and checked out early. Same young man at the desk told me that he told the manager and that they would, “take care of it.” Good to know, but they didn’t “take care of it” for me and I doubt they “took care of it” for the next guest. I don't recommend staying at this hotel.

    9. Recently I stayed at the Quality Inn over the weekend of Sept 12-14, in Spearfish SD, and sadly I found there to be numerous areas in need of improvement. First of all, in the room itself (#207), the carpet was puckered and I nearly tripped upon entering. The drain in the wash basin was very slow, and the walls were so thin I could hear staff talking about personal issues such as who they were dating.
The breakfast bar needed some serious improvements. On Saturday morning there was plenty of gravy but no biscuits, and the orange juice was warm. On Sunday morning there were biscuits but the juice dispenser produced water instead of apple juice and there were grounds in the coffee. Not just a few, more like a teaspoon full.
On Saturday I used the hot tub but the water level was nearly a foot low, so one of your staff tuned on the water, which was cold and it soon began to overflow so I told staff and he shut it off. But by that time the hot tub was really a cold tub.
Normally, I don’t say anything when I’m disappointed; I just don’t come back and tell others to do likewise. Attention to needed improvements may lessen the likelihood of receiving complaints like this in the future.

  5. This is one of the worst experience we have had in our life. If you please send a fax number or email address, I will send you the formal complaint and documentation. Against both the hotel and hotels.com. When we have a death in the family and call to cancel and are treated and talked to the way we were, it is totally unacceptable. Then when we called the actual Hotel and the General Manager refused to talk to us, promised to call when he was not busy and NEVER returned our call. I phoned for 3 days to the hotels.com and the Quality Inn in Bremen GA. Still never spoke with the general manager. Basically didn't care who died, they would not refund our money, basically called us liars... I guess if you are interested and really care you will contact us for all of the details and facts. The stay was for May 4th and 5th 2012 for 2 rooms and 2 nights These rooms were prepaid and we were refused any refund on either room or for any nights. This is unspeakable. Hotels .com conf #18613699337. I have the death notice of my mother and all of the information.
Word of warning to anyone wanting to prepay through Hotels.com, beware. we are out $450.00 beside the loss of our mother, that oh by the way they don't care. Our first and last experience with either of them....

    2. BEWARE!!!!We rented a room in the Quality Inn Hotel in Cincinnati Ohio on Montgomery Rd. to accommodate my daughter who was having surgery and needed a place to recuperate for 2 weeks before returning home. We were placed in a room on the 3rd floor that was reserved as we found out later for prostitutes and drug dealers. We were threatened and were made physically ill from all the marijuana smoke in the air on this floor. We finally had to call the police and they were made to leave the hotel. We were not apologized to or compensated for the hell we had been through here. My 15 year old grandson is with us and when he went out the first night to get ice he was offered sex and drugs. After the people left and they went in to clean it out a large amount of drug syringes was found along with a lot of used condoms and trash. I`m finding out this is common place at these hotels. I thought Quality Inn had a better reputation than that. Hopefully soon Quality Inn will be a thing of the past!

  6. I am staying at the Quality Inn and Conference Center in Willowbrook, IL. Disgusting people. The cieling tiles leak in various spots. The fire alarm sytem is shut down for the past 3 days??? Mold and mildew is present on the first floor, and extreme amounts are present in the pool building. We are in town for corporate licensing for home inspections of mildew, mold and asbestos. This place is deploreable. I thought Quality in Quality Inn meant something. Tomorrow I am taking film coverage and recording this as looking for a dosemeter to take air samples. Please don't come here! Iraq and Afghanistan was safer.

  12. We stayed at the Quality Inn in Crescent City, CA for one night as we were on a road trip. If we had seen this hotel prior to booking I would have kept driving. As it was we booked over the phone. The lady told us it was a 3 1/2 star hotel and it would be worth it to book a ocean view room with the view we would have of the light house. Well the view of the light house was the top tip of it and the ocean view far away. We had mold up the trim of the sliding door, could hardly open the sliding door, mildew or mold on the plastic settee on the deck, mold on the outside of the A/C unit, yellowed and mildew on the shower curtain. When we entered the room the first thing we did was look for bed bugs. There was none thankfully. When we went down for breakfast the next morning we saw a police car. Found ot that one vehicle had bicycles stolen during the night. I was very dissapointed in this hotel and cannot belive the price we paid to stay there. I would rate this a 1 star hotel.

  13. I stayed at the quality Inn in Escondido from 6/22/12 to 6/29/12...had to pay up front which ended up being MORE then what was quoted to me when I made my reservation (was told that I would get some of the money back at checkout) WRONG! And if I did check out early, I still won't get my money back to use elsewhere. The t.v. wasn't working right, the pool was closed by the Health Department (which kids had been swimming in a couple of hrs before) and never had enough food in the morning which meant that most of us had to go out and buy our own. Not saying anything about the A/C unit. Would I recommend it, NO!

  14. Maryland Heights Missouri Quality Inn: I'd rather stay in a tent!!!!! The sheets were stained. The carpet - stained in huge spots. The light fixtures in the bathroom were flickering and the covers for the light fixtures were laying under the sink. Wallpaper peeling off the wall. No washcloths. No facial tissue. Ice machines were either out of order or contained no ice! Dirty coffeemaker. Broken beer bottles and cardboard boxes from beer cases were laying around in the parking lot. Looked like no one ever cleaned up the parking lot. Cigarette butts were laying all around the front entrance. The doors to the hotel in the back were unlocked and never able to lock. See pictures attached!! They were also listed on the bedbug database last year (july 2011). I looked AFTER my kids had some red bumps that appeared to be bites. Breakfast - only hot items were waffles and sausage and hardly any of that! I will never go back to that place. Not worth the money! Bottom line - stay in a tent if you want something a few stars up from this hole in the wall!

  15. I stayed at a quality inn COOKSTOWN NJ, 27 June to 28 June 2012. I was qouted $130.00 (military rate) for a 4 day stay at this 2 star hotel. We checked in at 2am when I check our bank account the following morning the hotel had taken a payment for $448.62.......why would a hotel process the payment before check-out I asked?.....well that same morning the electricity went out and shortly thereafter we had no water, it was like this for the entire day. We checked out early, the front desk person ran our card again and charged us $250.00 for the days we stayed at the hotel and then 2 payment of $101.20 to make the total amount charged to our card $906.__. This was the worst experience ever it took us roughly 2 weeks to get the money back. We are still waiting for the refund of $250.00.

  16. My wife and I stayed at the Quality Inn in Hannibal, MO, for four nights. The room was fine but a party was happening in the ballroom downstairs. The party, however, continued in the room next door, in the hallways, etc, etc. After 2 hours, at 1am I called the front desk as now the adjacent room was sounding like a gymnasium, kicking walls, kids playing, banging doors, yelling. After two calls to the front desk, the manager finally came up. To my shock, she banged on our door! Her purpose was to let me know that she was the "general manager" and was not going to be comping our room! This was a response to my comment to the person at the front desk saying that we were staying four nights and I didn't feel I should have to pay for this one. It was obvious she was angry at me instead of the party folks. She told me they had paid for their room too! I then heard her APOLOGIZE to the party guys next door. Are you kidding! Now they felt empowered and began calling our room phone and hanging up. The management at this hotel is horrid. I would never stay here again!

  17. We had the WORST experience of our lives...We stayed or at least attempted to stay at the quality inn in Richmond Virginia. Run down would be an under statement...it needs to be condemned! We had no hot water in the first room and in the second room we had mold through the bathroom and to our surprise, we woke up to cockroaches! We scurried out and left at 1 am waking the kids and packing the car. I called the manager and her response was "I'm sorry for your experience, we are in transition to remodeling"...Are you kidding me? The hotel should be closed down in this condition. And to think you are charging $65.00 + per night? They ought to be ashamed to carry the responsibility of being associated to CHOICE hotels.

  18. Quality Inn - Harpers Ferry, WV. I was very disappointed with the way the staff handled my reservation. I visited the Quality Inn in Harpers Ferry from July 1 thru July 3, 2012. I arrived at 2:45pm on that Sunday and was told my room was not ready and it would be 30 minutes. While waiting I noticed the cleaning staff was in the lobby more than in the rooms and I was told they had to wash the sheets so they could make the beds. I would like to believe that a Quality Inn would have many extra sheets and that they would not have to wait for the sheets to be washed. A good hotel will have at least 3 or more sets of sheets per room. I waited and waited and finally at 4:15PM they told me my room was ready. I unloaded the car and then we got a phone call (4:30PM) that asked us to come to the front desk. They told me that the room I got was supposed to go to someone else. I looked on the paperwork that was sitting there and showed them this room was reserved for me. I found out there was no paperwork generated by the night personnel and that the black lady that I tried to check in with at 2:45pm (I gave her my ID and credit card) did not check me in properly and when asked who checked me in she totally denied she did (she even pulled the paperwork in the file that had my information on it) and tried to blame you, this is why the misunderstanding occurred.Your personnel need tobe more efficient because we expect professionalism in the hotel industry. Please see this does not happen to someone else. I understand there was an act of nature that weekend but there is no excuse for nt being professional and having the rooms ready by the 3:00pm check in time. I do want to thank you for personnally working with housekeeping to help expedite the rooms though.

I also have one more complaint about the restaurant. The waitresses were wearing short shorts and tank tops which is not very professional and my wife ordered fish and chip and got cheap processed boxed fish.

    1. I am going through the same exact thing right now. I had a decent rate with discounts at 80.81$ per night for four nights and when the front desk idiot called and came up to our room at 1 am bc he screwed up our checkin my husband let him know how rude it was. He was disabled as well so you could tell he walked around with a sense of entitlement and talked ur damn ear off when all you wanted to do was crash after driving for ten hours. Anyways I now have 3 charges of 89.98 instead of my usual managers special. How can u let ur employees do that?? Especially questionable ones. Then when confronted he claimed he has no authorization to fix and guess what?! Neither did the manager. So I am on the hunt for corporates number then on to the BBB. Cant complain about the decor of the place as it was just built but im sure it will turn into the rats nest they all sound to be! Btw this was in mattoon illinois.one other thing...I had a maid knock on my door before my slotted late checkout and tell me I had to leave right then and there bc she wanted to clean my room. I thought u Mexican bitch learn to speak fucking English before u try and tell me what to do! Sorry fpr cursing but it just burns me up.

  21. My friend and I stayed at a "Quality Inn" in St George, SC. Th worst place I have stayed in my life. Never again! The clerk behind the desk had a bad attitude when I walked in and her shirt was filthy. Her computer crashed in the middle of our signing in. I wanted 2 rooms close together, we got adjoining rooms, that's ok. My friends room was leaking in the bathroom from the light over the sink, a fire hazard and electrical problem. My husband is and electrician, needless to say, the girl did not believe us and left the desk to come up and see. We had opened the adjoining door and she spoke very harshly to my friend and told her to close the door. They were given another room, we were on the 2nd floor. There wa a loose switch to our bathroom. It advertised that all rooms had a microwave and refrigerator, there was neither in our room. The door latch was boken, they reuse the keycard enevlopes( write in pencil then erase it and write another room number, very obvious)The TV was sold old that the volume on every chanel was different. I don't know how they do their housekeepping, but there was a usd washcloth over the shower bar, who knows how long it was there. The table by A/C, was dirty and sticky. I HAD TO CLEAN IT BEFORE I SET UP MY COMPUTER. I used to think that Quality was a good placed to stay, but after this, when I go on vacation, I know where to stay away from. I will inspect my room
before I pay. I thought I saw this company on UNDERCOVER Boss, IF NOT THEY SHOULD BE.

So I thought by paying in cash would be a helpful way of doing thing.

The hotel manger was not in so the desk clerk had to call him. He never said what his name was, he was rude and started shouting and acted as if my business to his hotel was not important to him. He also threatened that he will call the other hotels in the area to see that I am not allowed to stay. He instructed the desk clerk to cancel the reservation and not let us stay.

The shower had mold growing between the tiles. The carpeting throughout the entire hotel was dirty - the elevator was disgusting. One positive note: the desk clerk was VERY nice. QUALITY Inn - You've got to be kidding!!! You need to change your name.

  28. My husband and I were riding the Harley through Indiana when a storm had us finding a room in Kokomo. Because of a womans softball competition our first choice of lodging was all booked up. We went to the Quality Inn were they had two rooms, we spent over $100to for a room that reeked of cigarettes and had dead bugs in the bathroom. The phone kept wanting to dial out (on speaker) in the middle of the night...worst night ever in a hotel and we have stayed at plenty. We will also be sending a registered letter to ensure that corporate does read the review.

  29. Dear management board of Quality,
There are a few things that you people need to be aware in your Hotel (at least the one in Porto/portugal). I seriously think in 2012, it is a disgrace to have to pay... even a penny, to get internet access. We are tourists and we've been traveling all over the country for a few weeks now and even in the deepest holes, we had to pay "niet" for WIFI connections. We decide, me and my wife to pay ourselves a nice and goo hotel.... more money that we usually have to pay to sleep, breakfast is not included and on top of that, WE HAVE TO PAY TO GET INTERNET!!!! What is wrong?!?!?! 5 Euros !!!!!!!!!!! Come on, I feel like we are back in 20th century.... you guys are not even in the right millenium. First and last time me and people from my Cie will ever step in one of your hotels!

    Thank you

  30. We recently stayed at a Quality Inn in Ripley, West Virginia on Sept.22, 2012. It was so philthy dirty, I had never seen such a sight. Our carpet in our room felt wet and smelled disgusting. The lobby furniture and windows were so dirty. The cushions were on backwards with the zippers showing because they were trying to hide the dirt. We checked in and left for some dinner and when we returned our card access would not work. We waited 40 minutes for someone to put new batteries in the door lock contraption before we could get back in. I then asked for a reduction on our rate and it was like pulling teeth to get them to do anything about it. Will never stay in such philth again. Will pass by quality suites forver. Was afraid to eat the breakfast wondering how philthy the kitchen probably was.

  31. I booked a room through priceline for a Quality Inn in Warren, MI and upon inspection of the room I found Bed Bugs. Showed the maintenance man and Front desk and they still insisted they dont have them. Took pictures and the Bed bug and they still denied they have them. Called Corporate Office gave the Hotel 72 hours to contact me no contact from the hotel. I called the Hotel back on October 2nd, 2012 and they still insist they dont have them even though I have a picture and the actual bed bug. Ridiculous!

  33. Rusty in OKC,
I agree with most of the comments that I have read concerning the non-professional way we have been treated with the Quality Inn In Eureka Springs, Ark. We made a reservation and did not ask about the cancellation policy because I never had a problem cancelling a room before. When it was necessary to cancel our room we were told this particular property had a 72 hour cancellation policy. Our room cost was not refundable, but we could change dates if we wanted. So we did! Now that we are more than 72 hours out from our new date, they still will not let us cancel and get our money back. Seems like they are doing their best to un-invite people to this property. I hope others will read this and heed the warning - stay somewhere else.

  34. I stayed at the Quality Inn in Big Rapids Michigan October 2-4 and my experience was HORRIBLE! The room was unsanitary and I believe the housekeeping staff used my flatirons! My first impression of the cleanliness of my room was noted when I had to wipe dirt and grime off the toilet seat. In addition, there were several spider webs on the ceiling above the window and dust on the desk-like table. I literally had to go to the local Wal-Mart to purchase cleaning supplies to re-clean the room. Furthermore, I spent most of the night killing bugs around the room! I wrote a lengthy letter to the hotel manager about my experience including my belief that someone used my personal items. What led me to believe that this occurred is:

    - My flatirons were plugged in; however, when I left for my conference that morning I unplugged them
    - The temperature on the flatirons were changed to a different temp – I leave them on 275, they were changed to 400 degrees
    - A towel was placed underneath the flatirons – I placed the towel I used that morning in the dirty clothes pile prior to leaving.
To my dismay, the letter I received from the manager actually blamed me for leaving the flatirons on; saying that the housekeeper reported that the flatirons were left on - what a convenient story! I am a creature of habit and meticulous in my daily actions. I know for a fact that I unplugged the flatirons prior to leaving. I would have appreciated a letter simply thanking me for voicing my concerns instead of accusing me of causing the things I complained about. When I contacted the manager via telephone, she was rude and condescending. Quality Inn needs to implement a customer service training ASAP – beginning with management! Needless to say, I will NEVER stay at another Quality Inn!!!! I guess once they start losing money, may be this company will be more concerned about the cleanliness of its hotels, and great customer service!

  35. My wife and I stayed at the Quality (NOT) Inn in Kingsburg, Ca. this past week end. What a dump...The place was dirty and disgusting! We moved the bed looking for an outlet for the lamp next to the bed (which we did not find) and was amazed at the trash that was behind the bed. When my wife told the manager about it he said that that was deep cleaning which is only done every three months... how ridiculous. This place was really dirty, the linens were stained, the towels and washcloths were really stained and we could not tell the clean from the dirty ones. there was dirt everywhere. The refrigerator was sick looking inside, there was grunge in the bottom and it smelled. This is the worst place I have ever stayed and will never stay at another QI again.

There was dust and dirt everywhere. The shower rod was broken and the coffee pot was so dirty we could not use it. We will never stay in a Quality Inn again. You really should take the logo "Quality" off the name of the motel.

    1. My stay at Quality Inn in St. Louis, Missouri on Natural Bridge Road was one of the most horrific experiences of my life!!! We got there around 10pm,(Wednesday, November 7, 2012) after driving about 10 hours, settled in for the night. Felt something biting me during the night and when I got up my arms were itching like crazy. Checked the bed again and saw and killed a tiny "bug" crawling so thought it was a spider. Reported it to the manager (Thursday November 8, 2012)immediately showing him in another room the bites on my arms, hands, and upper back. He gave us another room and apologized. After settling into that room which was a couple of doors down the closet rack fell to the floor. Reported that to two maintenance workers and the manager and had to place our clothes back on the cart off the floor. Was told someone would be there that day to repair, noone came. Manager said he would refund one night plus knock off 20 percent of the bill when we check out. Gone entire day go to the desk to see manager but he was gone for the evening. (Frida November 9,2012)Again, getting bit but this time actually see bedbugs which were also biting the 84 year old mother that shared the room with. Got back to the room and all our clothes that had been on the cart was placed on the beds and chairs and the floor. Reported back to the front desk the young man "called" the manager only to be told we could not talk to him until the next day. He gave us the option of moving to another room at 11:30pm further down the hall or we could go back to the room they supposedly had just cleaned, next door. We went back to the original room which had been cleaned and we thought had been exterminated of bugs (this is what we had been told) Found out they had lied. Noone there to help us move so we moved things ourselves. (We missed going back to church service because of this) Spoke to some patrons and found out they had bugs too. One patron had not had any clean linen and towels for the entire week! We had no clean linen or towels and after speaking again to the desk clerk and told he would get us some, we finally went to the other room and took the clean towels we had left and combined them with the one set in the room. He never came. Saturday (November 10, 2102)the next morning took the bed bugs to the desk clerk and requested speak to the manager and told again he would not be in until the next day. Wanted the corporate number they would not give it. Sunday evening(November 11, 2012) we missed service again because we went and bought stuff to spray our belongings so we would not be bringing the bugs back to Ohio with us. Finally saw the manager on the day we were checking out (Monday, November 12, 2012) He told us because we had paid with cash, the policy was, he could not refund us our money, we told him about the cart, the linen and towels, the rooms not being cleaned, and were told because our clothes had been on the bed the cleaning crew did not have to clean our rooms, we should not have had the cart, and we should not have been told by the desk clerk to move back into the room. The free breakfast was the same every day, no variety or choice on our part.(coffee, pancakes, eggs, two saugage links, and two small strips of ham). He said he would not reimburse the money spent by either one of us even after we showed him the receipt. He later gave us two hundred dollars plus forty dollars to pay for part of the bug spray(the total bill was $395.60)and said that was the best he could do.

    2. Sad news for you, even the corporate people are the rudest people on earth , too. From my experience with them, they are useless, rude and should not belong to the hotel or any business here in US. I guess that reflect in the quality we receive at Quality inn. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO THEM, THEY WILL MISUSE, OVERCHARGE YOU AND NEVER REFUND YOUR MONEY.

The shower made a loud screaming noise when you turned it on. There was even construction going on in the room next to us. I recently called a manager to discuss the problems i was having with the over charges and she told me she would call me back and did not. I have yet to talk to her. please believe i will pay that bull shit 25 dollar fee to file a formal complaint. I AM ABOUT FIGHTING THIS AND WILL TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT MY HORRABLE EXPIERENCE.

  39. I am in shock with all the negative feedback on these posts! I really thought that my wife, daughter and I had an isolated incident when we checked into the quality Inn in Carlisle Pennsylvania. We travel 3-5 times a year from Connecticut to Kansas to visit our son stationed there in the U.S. Army. We checked into the hotel on November the 18th right after midnight and were greeted by "James" the night (so we thought) manager. He checked us in, took payment and instructed us where the room wa...easy! Well, it was an outside entrance door in the dark part of the hotel, no locks on the outside door that would normally require your card key to get in for security. The lock was drilled out of the door so I opened it with a normal pull. The hallway stunk like a combination of alcohol and cigarette smoke. We entered the "no smoking" room and were greeted with a slight odor of the same as the hallway. The hour now was about 12:45 A.M. the 18th and since we needed to get back on the road fairly early, the decision was get to bed. At about 3 a.m. it was quite cool in the room so I turned the heat on to find out that in an hour there was still no heat. We got up at 6 :30 a.m. and noticed that the no smoking room had comforters on the beds with cigarette burn holes in them and the boxspring on one bed was ripped open at a seam...all this for $86 plus dollars.
We went to the desk to check out and there was our friend James (his real name). I put in a complaint and asked for compensation toward the charge to which he immediately refused and I asked is position in the hotel..He was NOT a night manager but the night auditor...he became indignant and when I told him that I manage a $27 million dollar company in Stamford, Connecticut and customer satisfaction is what we insist on and that I fire employees with his attitude, his slick response was "well, you can't fire me". I asked for the manager of the hotel and was told he wasn't there. He did give me the owners name of Neil and a phone number to call which he watched me do an allowed me to get the answering machine of the very hotel I was standing in which he found quite humorous. I checked out with my wife and daughter and as I left we got a sarcastic "have a nice day". All of this was heard and witnessed by other guests in the poor excuse for a breakfast area.
The next day when I checked my credit card I was also shocked to fine a double charge on the card for one nights stay. I then called and a nice girl named Lisa Craig, the day manager informed me that the hotel system will do this if you check in after midnight and the system can not be changed per Quality Inns but that it would fall off the bill in 48 hrs which it did do. She listened to what had happened and apologized profusely but also offered no compensation, however she assured me she would email the owner. We returned home on Monday the 26th of November and found a letter from her stating again an apology and an assurance that she notified the owner and it would take a few days for his response to me which as of today, December the 10th has yet to happen. Am I shocked? NO! The help is a reflection of the ownership and the ownership attitude is a reflection of the corporate offices....
After all this story, my recommendation to anyone out there is either find a different hotel or sleep in the car..Quality Inns needs a full overhaul and name...not suited for a dog!!!

JAMES THE NIGHT AUDITOR WAS AN ARROGANT, SARCASTIC FELLOW WHO FOUND GREAT HUMOR IN A CIGARETTE BURNED QUILT ON 2 DBL BEDS, NO LOCKS ON THE OUTSIDE HOTEL ENTRANCES, ALCOHOL AND CIGARETTE SMELL THROUGHOUT THE HALLWAY AND NO HEAT IN THE ROOM. HE GOT GREAT PLEASURE IN LAUGHING WHEN WE ASKED FOR AN ADJUSTMENT IN THE CHARGES FOR THE ROOM. WE ARRIVED AT 12:30 A.M. NOVEMBER THE 18TH ON OUR WAY TO KANSAS TO VISIT OUR SON IN THE ARMY FOR THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY. HE EXPECTED US TO EXIT THE HOTEL WHERE OUR ROOM WAS, CROSS THE PARKING TO, CARRYING LUGGAGE TO COMPLAIN AND GET A DIFFERENT ROOM TO TRECK TO WHERE EVER THIS ROOM WOULD HAVE BEEN. NO ADJUSTMENT TO THE COST, NO APOLOGY FOR INCONVENIENCE. JUST "YOU WANT MONEY BACK AND NEVER COMPLAINED UNTIL NOW" WELL, "NOW" WAS 5 HOURS AFTER GETTING INTO BED. HE FOUND IT COMICAL WHEN I ASKED FOR THE FRANCHISE OWNERS NUMBER AND WATCHED ME DIAL IT TO FIND IT WAS ANSWERED BY THE VERY PHONE I WAS STANDING NEAR. OTHER GUESTS WERE PRESENT DURING THIS ORDEAL. HE GOT GREAT PLEASURE IN SAYING "YOU CAN'T FIRE ME SIR" WHEN I TOLD HIM MY COMPANY IN STAMFORD CONNECTICUT IS BENT ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND THAT I HAVE FIRED EMPLOYEES FOR ATTITUDES LIKE HIS.
WE (MY WIFE, DAUGHTER AND I) LEFT THE HOTEL AND THE NEXT DAY AFTER CHECKING MY CREDIT CARD ON LINE AND FINDING A DOUBLE CHARGE FOR THE ROOM ON IT, DID I CALL BACK AND GET LISA CRAIG, THE DAY MANAGER ON THE PHONE. I EXPLAINED THE ATTITUDE OF THE AUDITOR, THE DOUBLE CHARGE AND THE TOTAL DISSATISFACTION WE EXPERIENCED. SHE APOLOGIZED EXCESSIVELY AND ASSURED ME THAT SHE WOULD EMAIL THE OWNERS OF THE HOTEL. ALSO, KNOW THAT IF YOU CHECK INTO THE INN AFTER MIDNIGHT, YOU WILL BE CHARGED A DOUBLE CHARGE...SHE CLAIMS IT IS A SYSTEM THAT QUALITY INNS SAYS CAN NOT BE CHANGED. THE CHARGE DID FALL OFF IN 48 HOURS.
WE ARRIVED HOME ON NOVEMBER THE 26TH AND THERE WAS A LETTER FROM LISA TELLING ME SHE EMAILED THE OWNER AND TO PLEASE "GIVE HIM TIME TO DECIDE WHAT ACTION HE WILL TAKE". TODAY IS THE 10TH OF DECEMBER AND OBVIOUSLY HE'S DECIDED TO NOT TAKE ANY POSITIVE ACTION AT ALL SINCE THERE HAS BEEN NO RESPONSE FROM "HIM".
SOME ADVISE TO YOU ALL...SKIP THIS CHAIN, THIS PARTICULAR HOTEL AND ANY HOTEL OWNED BY THE CHAIN..CHOICE, ETC HOTELS..THEY DO NOTHING TO ASSURE A NICE STAY.

  46. Stayed at Quality Inn in Florence, Kentucky on March 18, 2013. I was given room 147 which was at the back of the building. No other rooms were occupied on that floor. The window was cracked, the drape was falling off the rod, the phone was not even a phone. It looked like something that had been an office phone with all the light buttons and when the receiver was lifted, there was no dial tone. I went around to the office and reported these items and was upgraded to a "suite". The suite has no cups or glasses to drink out of and the ice machine was not working. we drank out of the ice buckets. No phone in room, water had air in pipes, toilet almost overflowed with one flush. Burns on bed linens and carpet. I was surprised that this was a Quality Inn. No elevator and I was placed on third floor. No offer of help from staff. I will never stay at another Quality Inn. I would not stay if someone paid me. I don't think anyone on the staff cared. 48. Dear sir or Madam,
I stayed at your hotel on 3/29/2013 & was there for only a short while when we went to go to dinner & noticed that room 303 did not lock. I told the Desk clerk & she said she would have some one come take a look at it..We went back to the desk & asked to switch rooms so we could continue on with our dinner plans. We were in room 303 & they switched us to room 307. We moved, went to dinner then around 10:30 I went to take a shower,, which scalded me...saw no reason to say anything since I was exhausted from a 10 day drive & it was late. Around 340 AM I used the restroom & it would not flush & kept running.. so I pulled the tank off & fixed it myself instead of calling your desk & having to miss well needed sleep & wait on your "GUY" to wake up & fix it...it happened again to my companion in the night.. The drain to the sink is very slow to drain & almost clogs.. I found that out in the am when we rose..I paid $91.00 for a falling apart room & got scalded for it.... I have asked for you to be fair & equitable in this matter. I brought it to your front desk's attention as soon as I thought feasible...If it had just been the shower it would have been no big deal,, but 3 things, that is a little much...Now you say NO way will I help in anyway, nor have I even gotten an apology from you or your staff. Poor service & very bad customer support

  49. Quality Inn Corporate,
We were booked in a Quality Inn in Miami Florida by our travel agent. It was slated as a Park and Ride. They assured us multiple times that the parking lot was secure to leave our truck while we went on our cruise. When we returned from our cruise someone had removed our tailgate and stole IT and all the contents. We understand these things can happen but we believe this was probably an "inside job" as the parking lot only had one way in and out and somewhat secluded by trees and shrubbery. Finally my point, the hotel manager never came out to investigate, never said "sorry", hardly acknowledged that we had a problem. Called the police for us, and that was that. Never stay at the Quality Inn on 79 th Street in Miami. Oh yeah, drunk women screaming at the top of her lungs one floor down at 3AM police came and picked her up, let her loose to return at 6AM and start all over again. Five police cars responded! Quite the entertainment for this Iowa couple. Never will stay in another Quality Inn. We spent March on a road trip, this was not the only sub standard Quality Inn but it certainly will be our last!!!

  50. My daughter and I stayed at the Quality Inn University Center in Pittsburgh this week. We arrived late after a long trip to find the hotel filthy and disgusting. It was too late to find another room so we had to stay. If we had arrived earlier in the day, I would have cancelled the reservation and gone to the Hampton Inn down the street. When we got to our room, we had to stumble around in the dark because half of the lamps in the room did not work including the one by the door. We got a room with two double beds, but we ended up sharing a bed. The bed I was going to sleep in had a nasty stain possibly someone's DNA all over the bedspread. The refrigerator did not work. The bathroom was filthy with stains in the tub. The cracks in the tile floor were full of black mildew as was the area on the floor around the tub. I did not want to take my shoes and socks off to take a shower. I hated that my daughter had to sleep in a place like this, but it was late and I was sure that there were no other options. In the morning, I spoke with the desk clerk - the manager never seemed to be around. I was told by the rather unapologetic young man that I should have come down at 10:30 pm and asked to be given another room. As if I would want another room in that roach motel. I was made to feel as if their giving me a filthy room was somehow my fault. I received no apology or compensation. This place should be out of business and the building should be torn down. I will never stay at another Quality Inn again. I am going to make sure that I tell all my friends and business colleagues about my experience at your hotel.

  51. My husband and I recently stayed in the Quality Inn This past weekend-Friday March 26-28. It was the worst experience of my LIFE! We made reservations for the Quality Inn and when we arrived, they had "lost" our reservation. We showed them the bank alert that proved they took the money out of our account, but they still didn't believe us. We asked for a refund and they said because the reservation was made before 6 pm they couldn't give us a refund. We proved to them we reserved the room at 9:36 pm based on our bank alert and the time of the call. Does this make sense? They couldn't refund us on a room they said we never reserved? Really?

The room was SO dirty and filthy. It had a terrible smell and was so outdated it had old furniture, bed and television. I would have had a better time staying at the local shelter. None of the outlets worked and the linens were subpar to say the least. On the day we checked out, I was covered in BED BUGS!! I called to speak with the manager to file a comlaint. The manager didn't return my call. I called the next business day and she said she didn't return my call because the room was in my husbband's name and my name was NOT on the reservation. She lied and said they checked the room for bed bugs and found nothing. I told her she is not being honest because I just made the complaint the day before, she didn't even think of my complaint enough to return my call so how was she able to get an inspector out to check the room for bugs? I told her I am reporting her to the BBB and filing a complaint with corporate headquarters. This hotel should be shut down! They blew off my complaint and basically tried to blame me for their incompetence and filth!! Really!!! I'm like all the other complaining customers who are tired of businesses taking our money and not following through with quality service they promised. I WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER stay in this crapy hotel again!!!!

Upon entering the lobby, was hit with the smell of smoke. Told the desk clerk (very nice young lady) had reservation for non-smoking, was informed that if room smelled, would need to leave for 1 hour & they do ozone machine, told her that didn't work. Man with bad attitude (later found to be the Mgr. Larry) assured me the room would be fine. Went to rooom, you guessed it, strong smoke smell, opened window to get fresh air, cigarette butt & dead cricketts between window & wholly screen. Two other hotels called me with cancellations next am. Took one, went to check out, would not cancel nor refund because booked by 3rd party, left anyway, clothes still smelled like smoke when entering next room. When called Mgr 2 days later, still had bad attitude and accused me of looking for ways to complain. Will NEVER stay at Quality Inn again and will tell anyone in conversation not to. Sad that a corporation will allow this to be so.

  53. I have stayed at the BAD-Quality Inn in Tupelo, MS. I have witnessed coffee runninn out and instead of the front desk clerk making the coffee themself, they holla at a young lady already cooking breakfast she needs to make coffee. This front desk person was doing nothing. Why did they not make the coffee so the other young lady could take care and complet what she was doing. I think the front desk clerk(s) are very lazy.
My room was not as bad as in some of the other revies, but the overall fitness of the hotel could be a little better. I wrote this because I hate to see someone treated like hired help by hired help. There need to be some team work and proper training done also. Overall, the Lobby and the breakfast area were clean, and the breakfast was awesome. I truly enjoyed my eggs and the biscuit. I will not be visiting any of the Inns listed in the reviews but I will be returning to the Quality Inn in Tupelo, MS.

  54. Hello, I DO NOT Recommend the Quality Inn in Raynham,ma. The General Manager is rude and they Live on the property above the office. There has been many drug deals going on and parties here, Then there was a man on the loose with weapons here. It is not safe for children, they also allow pit bulls here. Among other kinds of dogs. So I do not recommend it there.

    1. Hi Anonymous. It is the Manager Tina and her husband that are liven there, i stayed a few days last year, and talk about the noise from partiers, fights. Told the office and they did not care. The managers Demands you pay every night, and they are nosey people also. Some people that stayed here left the rooms trashed. So no i also do not recommend that place at all. They also have a few that work the night shift. Danny is a great person and so is Carol, they are both are great.

  55. We booked a room at the Quality Inn at Kittanning, PA and we would have went kept going but we were too exhausted to change. As my husband was ready to step in the shower he notice there was NO SHOWER CURTAIN and the tub was deplorable to say the least. When we complained the assistant manager refused to give us a refund or even lower the price as he said he "couldn't." I don't believe for a minute he "couldn't", it was that HE DIDN'T WANT TO!!!! He asked why we didn't say something right away and i said we were too tired plus we were NAKED and were not about to get redressed PLUS we were told the room was the last one. He said it WAS the last one. So what difference would complaining do!!!! We paid $71.00 for a room unfit for anyone, and we told him we paid LOTS less at a Confort Inn WITH a nice pool the night before but he didn't care! This place does NOT belong in a AAA book and I am filing a complaint with them as well.

  56. I have a service dog & Quality Inn denied me a room because the guy at the front desk says that my medical note could have been made on my computer & that it wasn't acceptable. It is against Federal & State Law to deny service to someone with a legitamate service dog. I am disgusted & humiliated. This note is just my first stop.

  57. The QUALITY INN is the worst election any body can make please people stay away from this hotels, I just came back from a trip in California and stay at one of their hotels located at 250 silver lake blvd. the staff is horrible and if complaint to them they ignore you is like you talking to the walls, they don't allow any one or friends to visit you, the rooms are dirty and smell bad and on top of that the are expensive. Will never stay here again

  58. Stay away from Quality Inn in Lafayette IN. After a long day of driving we thought it would be a nice place to rest. We were so wrong. Room was dirty, lamp was broken, sheets had hole in it as well as stains. Bath tub was so nasty. I love walking barefoot but I would not dare to put my feet there. And to make things even worse, housekeeper didn't even knocked but just tried to open the door. Door to kids room was locked from inside but that didn't even stop the housekeeper. He/she continue trying to get in. Our kids ran into our room screaming after being woken up when someone tried to break in their room. I went to speak to a manager that according to night person was suppose to there the first thing in the morning. I was told that manager will be in about 20 minutes. 40 minutes later I was told manager is out of town and there is no manager and they are not sure when the manager will be in. We just decided to leave and was given a card for a manager. Name on the card is complete different name that the board. When I questioned that, I was told that name on the board is the owner, who's also not there and he does not take phone calls. So hotel is unsupervised. No manager and/or owner running a hotel but it is run by some girls that has no idea on how to run a hotel. What a joke!!!! We did not even get sorry from the staff and the lying on top of it just made her look that much ridiculous. I guess when people lacking brains to think that other people can't catch on their lies is very sad. And they are left on running a hotel.

  59. Stayed and Quality Inn Jekyll Island GA. Left early then wanted to. I have sent pictures and letters to the Jekyll Island Inn and Corporate Offices. There were no utensils at all. Went out and bought some. Stove filty two burners that worked went down to one. The refrigetor door wouldn't not close properly. The freezer was a disaster. Has anyone there heard of the work defrost. There was no door on the freezer compartment so the compartment was coated with ice. Dirt and dust between stove and walls was horrible. Bathroom rack for towels fell off the first night. Bathtub would not drain properly so you stood in water up to your ankles. No plastic shower curtain so water spilled out onto the floor. Toilet seat rocked and rolled because it was pulling away from the wall. When turning on faucets a stink penetrated the room. Living Room. Lamp wasn't plugged in, plugged it in and received a shock. Front door was kicked in so daylight showed through the gap. The chair at the desk was torn and cracked. Pet area. Put your doggie bags into the container. No bags in container so bags fell to the ground. I noticed also that a birds nest had been built into the container. I agree with all the others "Don't stay at the Quality Inn at Jekyll Island, GA.

  60. We stayed at the one in Cordova, TN a suburb or Memphis. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my 43 yrs. They had one room left, a queen w a pull out couch. We needed it for our kid. The hotel smelled liked someone wiped a dirty diaper down the hall and when we got to the hotel to sleep around 1030pm the kid at the front desk told us they were OUT of sheets!? Really completely out..? I asked what we can do since the only reason we checked in was cause of the pull ot which we NoW can not use and he stated see the manager in the morning. That was convenient since we had to SLEEP to get to the morning. Gave him the keys back and left about 11pm. Called the next day at 230pm gave the info to a clerk whom stated she would relay it to David the mngr..waited and on Wednesday, 4 days later, I called back and spoke w Dave whom stated he never got the message! Told him the prob he got my contact # and said he would look into it and call me back by 1pm the next day. As I type this it is Monday at 12pm, 5 days later and guess what...no call back. They are horrible and I am having my bank stop the transaction. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL CHAIN !!!!!!!!!!!

  61. My family and I stayed at the quality inn for Memorial Day weekend. Just one night in Austin Texas. A day or so later my husband was bitten by bed bugs and without knowing that's what it was he was taken to ER where the allergic reaction and scratching has caused a staph infection. I contacted the Inn and demanded my money back. One night of family fun turned into a costly experience. Now I pray myself and my two boys are not infected and the bites aren't lying dormant in our body. Very
    Disappointed

  62. I stayed at a Quality Inn at High Springs Florida. I was one of the worst rooms I have every stayed in. First of all I asked for non-smoking near the pool. I was put in a room on the parking lot side farthest away from the pool. The room according to the clerk was non smoking in the smoking section of rooms. bed spreads were full of burn holes from cigarettes. The lamp when you walk into the room didn't work. the bathroom door didn't close and the bed frame was sticking out on and We kept tripping over it,they charged me $98.00 for one night. And when I complained. All I got was I'm sorry. I will not be staying at a Quality Inn again. Your competitor's just got all my business from on and we like to stay in hotels on weekends to get away just for one tank trips.

  63. We just arrived home from staying at the Quality Inn, Southaven, MS. Hmmm...looked good on outside and when walking into room, but upon further investigation (the dust ruffle didn't cover the head of the box springs) the box springs was FILTHY!!! I feel like we have to wash EVERYTHING now. Also, we put the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door in order to sleep in. Do you think that was acknowledged??? At 8:00 AM some woman knocked on the door and wanted our sheets? WHAT????? We didn't ask for a wake-up call much less room service wake up. I stayed up and began getting ready (sign is still on the door "DO NOT DISTURB"); then around 8:30 there is another knock at the door. My husband, in his loudest, most authoritative voice, answers, "GO AWAY!!!" Needless to say, we left before we got our nap out and long before the 11:00 check-out time. The nasty box springs (who knows what was beneath the sheets) was too much for me even though I kept telling myself everything was okay. I have no desire to stay in another Quality Inn.

  64. Quality Inn a far cry from quality that is for sure. I stayed at the quality inn located in historic St Augustine Fl. Would I ever stay there again? Hell no. Would I ever stay at another quality inn no. Room was dirty smelled like mold and smoke and it was a non smoking room. No slip mat or padding in the shower. Guess what fell in the shower went to emergency room out of work for a few days and the gen mgr doesn't have enough courteousy to return calls. Next time I will be staying anywhere besides a Quality inn. You have been warned there is no quality there.

  65. The place and location is great. This review isn't about the place nor the location - it is about the people running this establishment and the incredible incompetency of the owner.

We are a charter school in Los Angeles and we traveled there with 45 inner-city children, most of whom have never been outside of Los Angeles. We were on a Life Experience Lesson (LEL) and the Quality Inn in Zion was our last stop. We had a small glitch in our trip and arrived at the Quality Inn later than expected. We were late - it was our mistake. I admit that. But for every mistake there is an appropriate reaction, and there is no way that we deserved what came next...

We arrived, checked in, and began building our tents for the night. The students were exhausted; earlier that morning we had hiked 10 miles in under the Arizona heat. The owner comes out to talk to our group leader and begins to curse at him excessively and he threatens to throw out 45 inner-city children out on the street because we missed our arrival time. This disgruntled man then focuses his intractable anger on the bus driver (they almost come to blows). The owner of this place has some serious anger issues and little understanding of what it means to run an effective business that is patron-centered. We would never tolerate such lack of respect from any of our students and we try to model proper behavior for children - and here was this ignoramus cursing and yelling in front of all our students. The owner of this please is a tyrant and completely incompetent. The guy yields his authority with brute force and completely disdain for the feelings of others - and obviously with a complete disregard for the consequence of his actions.

I don't care if you are the owner of the entire country - no one has a right to treat other human beings with such contempt. The goal of this review is to share our experience with the owner of this place and hope that someone shares this with him. My main goal, of course, is that the little hamster inside his pea-sized brain turns the wheel of moral thought and that he realizes that he needs to apologized to the school.

Lastly, I would pay to step into the octagon for one round with this guy. I could turn this into a great lesson for all my students: don't bite on more than you can chew. I want to see him try to yell his way out of that situation!

  68. I recently stayed at a Quality Suites in Pointe Claire Quebec. I couldn't believe how bad the room was. I should have figured it out when I was told Its just behind the elevator. This room looked like it was originally a storage closet. The bed was as if it was picked up on a street corner. The room was so narrow that there was only one side table. The other night table was where the 24" TV sat. The other end of the room was even more narrow. I complained but the staff was totally indifferent to the situation. This room was ghetto. It was booked on Expedia.ca. Never again for both.

  71. After our recent trip to Titusville,FL to play in a softball tournament, we were very quickly disappointed after check in. The rooms smelled like mold and urine when we first walked in. After the air-conditioner circulated for a while, the smell became somewhat tolerable. Our entire softball team stayed at this location because it was recommended by the hosting tournament. One family checked out after the first night and moved to the hotel across the street. We decided to stay and make the most of our unfortunate situation but it quickly went downhill from there. There was a towel shortage and we had to search for towels from the staff daily. There were maids smoking IN THE ROOMS while they were cleaning them!! The phones did not work in the rooms, bathrooms were dimly lit and just felt really dirty. Worst of all, we came home eaten alive by BEDBUGS!!! For anyone reading this review, I would definitely think twice before staying at this hotel!!

  72. Wow! Having read some of these comments....I wondered if I should continue. I simply wanted to compliment Quality Inn for our delightful stay in Auburn, Indiana. This might have been one of our first ever stays in a Quality Inn, and it was nearly our only choice as we were leaving the Auburn Inn, which seems now to have become a Days Inn, who did not have micro/frig in our room, as requested, (we must have refrigerator for medications), and they refused their own corporate check for a problem we had had in Chattanooga, TN (they did not recognize such a thing). They did however, not charge us for our cancelled reservations...since they were unable to meet our needs. I agree with some of these complaints in that before the "Name" hotels allow their name to be used, they really should check out the quality of service, and the condition of the newly acquired hotel. (that was the nature of the refund check from Days Inn corporate when I wrote telling them of our 3-room change-for things that did not work-in Chattanooga) But, our stay in the Quality Inn, Auburn, Indiana was marvelous. As we complimented at the desk, I told him, "If I had to complain about our stay here, I think I'd have to list the jelly....it was petrified; I could not spread it onto my toast. But, local restaurants gave us jelly to take with us. Otherwise....great hotel, clean rooms, great hospitality....we will probably stay there next year July. :)

  73. I have read everyone of these comments and I too will add mine. I will be writing a letter to corporate office also. Mine involved a theft by one of their employees. I definitely left
my wedding ring of 45 years given to me by my husband. It was a gold ring with a small red stone in
it. I went in to see if someone picked it up and they denied finding one. It was left for by
error for sure. I know some hotels will not cover that but this was theft by an employee.
It meant more to me than the value. These people should be ashamed of themselves but it seems
there is not that quality anymore. I will never also stay at a Quality Inn also. I have belonged
to your rewards club also. It saddens me we cannot believe in people anymore.
I do hope to be compensated in some way.

  75. We recently took our four grandchildren and daughter and son-in-law on a trip to celebrate our anniversary. I paid for the 2 hotel rooms (2 queen beds in each room) 5 months in advance, picking this particular hotel for it's shuttle to the various activities, of which we also paid for in advance. Upon our arrival at the quality inn denver central, we were told they overbooked and we had no rooms. The Manager explained that it's kind of like the airlines that overbook. However, the airlines compensate in a much more professional manner ie; free tickets, cash, food vouchers etc. This hotel sent us to another quality inn, 11 miles away and we were stuck in a dangerous, filthy, scary area of which we were not familiar with. The "new" hotel was on the interstate, the rooms were small, with single beds that could sleep 1 each, our "view" was not the Denver skyling but was the prostitution, drug dealing, urinating and homeless people that were lingering everywhere. The motel 6 next door was a haven of prostitutes, which were "on the job" and in view of my grandchildren. I took them to the pool which was discusting. The "ring" around the inner rim was caked with filth. While there, a trucker pulled up, got out of his truck, jumped in the pool, exited the pool and then drove away. I quickly realized this was a free trucker bath. Our dream trip of visiting the denver zoo, elitch gardens amusement park, a rockies baseball game, and a one direction concert for our grandaughter was quickly reduced to a nightmare. Driving to all of these functions, we had to pass our original hotel each time and were reminded of how we were ripped off by quality inn. I paid them in advance, fully, $540 and change and feel they owe me at least 1/2 of my money back as I did not get what I paid for. 8 people had to use one rooms bathroom for toilet as other wouldnt flush and then use the other rooms bathroom to shower as the shower wouldn't drain. Complaining to office got us a "give it time to drain, it is just slow" response. The single beds were a nightmare to share, even after 25 years of marriage! After reading all of these complaints, I am sure it would be a waste of my time to try and get a refund or compensation of some sort. Although a "free" night stay at quality inn is not on our bucket list, it would be nice to be offered. Utilizing that offer would be like jumping into that gross pool, 50/50 chance at getting a disease! Not only will we never use quality inn, my husbands company will no longer be doing business with ANY quality inn hotels or any other hotels in their chain.

  76. I have never been so disappointed in a hotel. As a frequent traveler for business and pleasure, I was appalled at the lack of cleanliness. I do not require fancy or elaborate accommodations, but it must be clean! My bathroom was dirty. It had dirt stains on the side of the tub. There was a few long strands of hair inside the tub! The entire hotel, especially the hallways smelled like an incense factory! Ughhh.... I presume the incense was used as a masking agent to cover the real smell! The hallways were littered with trash and there were so many stains on both the hallway and room carpeting that I thought they were shadows! I took pictures of the hallway as proof of the filth!

Despite the lack of cleanliness, I still have two positives to point out. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and there is a Panera Bread located on the ground level of the facility.

I stay at Quality Inn properties frequently, however, after this experience, I think I will be selecting a different hotel chain. Its really a sad! Shame on you Quality Inn! I should have slept in the car! Maria Cummings

    Quality Inn
    2864 Pruden Blvd
    Suffolk, VA 23434

Apparently there are many Inns now bearing this name that are just poor quality. Perhaps you don't care. I hope you do and crack down on these places that are ruining a once good reputation!

  78. My family and I stayed at the Quality Inn Deep Creek Lake, Maryland over last weekend to attend a wedding nearby. When we booked our rooms we were never told: 1: they had no elevators and 2: no maid service; Most of the family was located on the 3rd Floor. Some of the people located on the third floor relied on the use of walkers/canes. What a horrible experience getting these people up to their rooms. No help available and a very blaise attitude about it. Some of us had to make our own beds and empty the garbage out of our rooms on Saturday. My neice followed the woman who was going in and out of some rooms to ask her where to throw out the garbage and she said "I'll be over there soon". Never saw her again. I think the most important issue here is we should have been informed upon booking that they did not have a hotel and do not expect maid service. We would have gone elsewhere. Never, never again will we stay at a Quality Inn.

  80. My wife and I stayed at the Quality Inn in Odessa,TX 0n 8/20/13. Senior citizens passing through should be advised that due to the oil boom in the area the Inn is primarily occupied by workers in this industry. We arrived early and by 5:30pm the workers arrived and the drinking started, many in the parking lots. Three of the workers actually constructed a steel bar-b-que right outside our room(using electric welder and grinder)By 7:00PM we called the front desk to complain and no action was taken. These workers then started cooking deer meat adjacent to or room and partied until after 9:00PM. Still no response from the mgt. At 1:30AM I took our puppy out for a walk and was approached by 2 prostitutes on property. We were out of there immediately. The desk clerk at checkout told me the entire area is rampant with prostitution and other crime and the local police cannot deal with it due to being short on manpower.

  81. Quality Inn sucks...that sums it up in a nutshell. We too stayed at the QI in Kingsburg, CA only because we have a small dog and the Fairfield Inn in the town did not except pets. I went to the local KMart and purchased sheets, pillows and disinfectant spray and wipes and cleaned every thing that we might touch or use. I threw the "blanket" on the floor because it had FRESH dried blood...it had not been washed!!!! We did not use the microwave even though it appeared to be the clean, nor would I even think of using the coffee pot. I seriously will never stay in a hotel, motel, owned by Indians from India. They are filthy people who do not deserve to own hotels. The Choice Hotel Corporation needs to look at how this will get around....and the very sad part is that we stayed here in 2005 when it was the Kingsburg Swedish Inn and not owned by Indians and it was very clean...this place is now so disgusting that I felt dirty just sitting in the room. Sorry if this offends anyone, but it's the darn truth.

  82. In August, I called and reserved 4 rooms, called back 2 weeks later and reserved 4 more - total of 8 rooms. I specifically asked if I needed a new confirmation number - she said nope, you're taken care of. Rooms were reserved for October 25th. Plenty enough a head of time. I called to verify pricing so I could tell everyone how much they owe for rooms and she told me the hotel was now overbooked and we would only have the 4 original rooms. No phone call, no letter - if I had shown up with 20 people on October 25th we would not have any place to stay. She says you will need to call another hotel. I said, 'no. this is not my issue, you confirmed my rooms, you will make it right. This is not my problem.' for 20 minutes she told me there's nothing she can do. I told her, yes, YOU can call around and find me rooms. this was not my doing, but yours. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER AGAIN - NEVER AGAIN.

Well that night my husband was killing them again. It was on the first floor and they came in by the door. You could not open the balcony door because they were out there also. No window so warm room with no fresh air. The hot tub had black stuff coming out so that was also a issue. The carpet was dark so could not see what was crawling around. We complained about this stuff at check out and they took 50.00 plus some of tax off the bill but still paid 240.We felt we should of got 1 night off for all the issues.

  85. We stayed at the so called Quality Inn at 8303 E. RL. Thornton FRWY, in Dallas, TX. A REAL DUMP. Do not stay there, Trashy outside and inside. Bugs in the rooms, nonsmoking rooms smell of smoke (maybe because all rooms use to be smoking rooms). The handicap rollin shower lets water flow onto the floor on into the
room's carpet (hence the mold smell). Made several complaints to management and that went in one ear and out the other. All they would say is SORRY. I called the Corporate office and all they said is that they would pass on our complaint to the hotel.
Also there is drug dealing right outside the hotel parking lot. Not a great area.

We stayed in room 109 and found several problems with the room. The door to the hotel room had 1 inch gap under the door. It was so large you could see light into the hallway and we could hear every noise in the hall all night long. When I went in the bathroom to take a shower I found mold around the edge of the bathtub. The tub looked very old and in very bad shape. This is not acceptable for any customer. Other areas in the room just did not look clean. The bathroom needs a detail cleaning in the corners and around the baseboard area. You can tell it’s “old dirt” that been there for a very long time.
We both felt this was unacceptable. The name of your hotel, “Quality Inn” is very inappropriate in this case.

  87. My Wife and I stay @ a particular quality inn in Foristell Missouri when we get that way. I must say the folks are always friendly, helpful, and just plan good folks. the room is always very clean and the breakfast isn't the most adorned we have seen in other Inns, but well stocked and just ask if you need something . I Think that all of the Inns , no matter the name , it depends on the staff's dedication and pride of their work that really counts. we have been to several different Inns across the country , some on the upper end , and find some that are not up to par with the name sake. If you have a problem while at the Quality inn I'm 100% sure the staff will fix it! We always try to use them if possible . I only wish I could find one of their mattresses that make you rest so well. when my wife goes to sleep she never moves and always wants to get one of the mattresses......Good traveling all of you, and drive safe.

  88. I booked one night stay at Quality Inn near the airport in Austin,Tx to take my daughter to the airport early in Am. After found out they charged me twice for the same night( one thru the online booking, and one directly from the hotel), I called and requested the refund. The manager never called me back even after I left 6 different messages for her. I call the manager from online booking, she researched and email me saying that she tried to call and talk to the hotel manager to get my money back, but the manager never called her back, and she already paid the hotel my money, and suggest I call the hotel manager again myself . I then called Corporate office for help. The lady at complaining depart was the rudest person on earth. She was rude thu out the conversation. She kept telling me that she could not find my stay in her computer system, and started yelling at me for suggesting that I would have the manager from online booking to call her and give her the info she needed to confirm my booking. Up until now, nobody called me back to refund my money they overcharged me. My advise: Stay away from this hotel. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER, THEY WILL TRY TO STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!!

  89. They haven't any pride in their name. No one is held accountable if they drop the ball. If they mess up your reservation, well pay again and we wil give you a room "because as of this moment you don't have a reservation even though you can show me you do. Your reservation does not exist in our system!"

While, I can understand front desk clerks cannot make any corrections on their own. They mus have a go-to supervisor available 24/7 to handle these type situations!!! I could understand if I had booked a room at Joe's Inn, but Quality Inn ??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Bottom line, I will never recomend the hotel chain or ever stay again with them. This hotel is straight from hell!!

  90. I can't believe all the complaints on this web site. The next time I book a hotel anywhere I will visit the Corporate web site for comments. We stayed at the Quality Inn in Sarasota Florida. Never again. Cockroaches roaming the bathroom floor. When I saw them the 1st night and complained the manager said they were "sweet ants", and would have the room sprayed. No, no, the second night the bathroom floor was swarming with "sweet ants". I live in North Carolina and had these same insects identified with an exterminator. They are baby cockroaches. And I see where complaints to Corporate QUALITY Inn go unanswered or compensated. So I'm, not going to waste my time. I'm just going to file a questionable charge with American Express. All persons experiencing the same treatment and poor room conditions should voice their complaints on Facebook. Then the word will really spread.

  91. I stayed at the Quality Inn in Monterey on Munras ave. My friend and I drove in from out of town and left early the next morning to go explore and sight see in Santa Cruz. We thought this would be a fun trip since we had never been to the Monterey bay area. We didnt get back to the hotel til around 9pm and thats when we discovered our hotel room had been broken into. The person on duty at the front desk didnt seem to care and made it seem like no surprise. He even told my friend and I that it had happened before. He was pretty much avoiding us and doing nothing about the situation so we had to call the cops on our own. They came out and got a report from us and took prints then we let them know how we were being treated very rudely and the manager didnt even bother to come to the location and didnt want to help us or give us a refund. After the cop talked to the guy at the front desk he let us know that he was going to refund us but there was nothing else they could do for us. ALL of my stuff was stolen. It makes me never want to go back to this area and this hotel. If you decide to stay here please make sure you have no valuable items left in your rooms because there was also no safe in the room.

  92. Wow! I come here to get the address to their main head quarters so I can file a complaint with them personally, and see all these reviews! Wish I would have come here before making my reservation! This too was my worst experience with a hotel, and I do a lot of traveling. My letter is quite long with every detail but I'll break it down and make it brief so you don't fall asleep reading it.

Basically, we paid in advance for four nights through Expedia. When we went to our room the first morning after check in to freshen up for family pictures for an event we were in town for (we missed the pictures due to our situation here) we were locked out of our room and told we had checked out this morning. Hmmm, we never checked out, we had just gone to a family breakfast. They then said our reservations were for one night, not four. I even showed them my printed receipts, and Expedia called them twice to verify my information and the manager (who treated us somewhere between a four year old getting in trouble and a shoplifter) still insisted that her computer was right and we were wrong, plus they were booked and there was no room for us anyway. They were calling housekeeping so they could take us to our room to collect or personal items. I was about ready to loose it! I finally remembered when checking in, the man behind the counter told us that we were due to check out on the 11th. After a phone call to him, more than an hour later, they finally let us have our room. We actually had a conversation with him about possibly not needing the fourth night and he remembered that conversation.

Once we were in our room the manager called us and said they were still going to have to pursue our payment for the remainder of our stay because they had earlier credited our Master Card. I don't have a Master Card! Whomever they credited, wasn't us! Maybe it was the person who checked out that morning, and it was accidentally checked out under our name?

Will never stay at a Quality Inn again!

  93. Rodeway Inn & Suites State Rd 84 Ft. Lauderdale Fl. and Quality Inn Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood FL.
March 7th and March 8th through 16th at the Rodeway Inn.
We booked this hotel through HotelNParking.com. Big Big mistake, first off, the next day our credit card was compromised and had to be cancelled. Secondly HotelNParking assured us that that our vehicle would be in a secure lot. After arriving at the Quality Inn we were then told that this was not where we would park our car but about 15 minutes down the road at the Roadway Inn. After arriving at the Roadway Inn we were told to back in our truck at the fence and put the park sign in the dash, we were actually parked in the second spot as soon as you turn into the parking lot. We are now not real happy with this but once again through the booking process were led to believe this was secure lot even though we realized upon arrival that it was out in the open and at the front of the Hotel and surely must have an all-night security guard. But, we found out after arriving back 7 days later not so. While we were on our cruise we came back and found the tail gate of our truck had been stolen, it has a backup camera and pull down step which is an expensive item. Note this truck was backed all the way to the curb and there was not a lot of room between the tail gate and the fence. This happened right in the front side of the hotel but no one saw anything!
Off course both hotels were quick to tell us OH! that's the web site not us, you need to book directly to us. Okay, if that is so, my question is, why would you let other booking sites represent your name or book your rooms through them if they are not secure. Someone in your Information Services Department should be checking these sites out because it does represent your name.
Obviously this site is a scam and you would be wise not to associate your name through them or let alone take bookings from them. Also their parking lot is not secure and in the future we will park at the cruise terminal. We also left a $92.00 deposit and it was not deducted from the check in amount. I guess we are glad that is all we lost plus an expensive tail gate!!!

  94. Thank you for your comment I stayed at the Green Bay Wisconsin quality inn 3 weeks ago the young lady at the front desk was very rude when I called it down to ask her a question about things that I had needed I also notice that three of the housekeepers was working harder than the others and those ladies that were working hard this is very polite and courteous so if you ever go to Green Bay Wisconsin the night shift staff is more helpful then the day shift when you actually have but me personally I would never stay there again I felt very uncomfortable after I was really shot down by the front desk

  95. I tried to make reservations at the Quality Inn in Carbondale, IL for my parents. I called to make reservations and then innocently inquired if there was an AARP discount or senior citizens discount. When I asked the man immediately hung up. I called back thinking there was something wrong with the connection instead I was told that they didn't want my business and then hung up again. I called back again and politely asked to speak with the supervisor. I was told that there wasn't one. I decided to go in person and talk to the manager. When I got there the man was very rude and kept telling me that they had the right to refuse to do business with me. I politely asked why they wouldn't do business with me. My only answer was that they had the right to refuse to do business with me. I then asked about speaking with the owner. I was told that I could write a letter and that the address was on a business card. I said okay and left. They were extremely rude and unfriendly throughout the whole exchange. I was nothing but polite. I felt they were refusing to do business with me because of mentioning that my parents were older. I felt that they were being age discriminatory.

We stayed at the Quality Inn in Walterboro SC on 4/11/14. We had two 'suites' and I use that term lightly. The rooms were dirty, tiles were falling off around the sink, the bed covers had cigertette holes, the remote did not work, the room smelled, the carpet had been patched several times and didn't match. When we tried to complain we were told 'just a minute' and the minute never came. Several other guest were also at the front desk complaing one of a broken toliet and they were told too bad. Never Never stay at this place. $180.00 for this was down right theft!!!!!

  97. The Quality Inn has lots of issues! I been staying with them every week since July 2013. I am suppose to have a staying reservation but they are so unorganized at the front desk that they have lost my reservation or given my room away. Their guests that they book too are somewhat questionable also. Like for the matter of the police. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

  98. I USED EXPEDIA TO MAKE MY RESERVATION IN DOTHAN ALABAMA AND WAS CHARGED $142.98 FOR 2 NIGHTS. NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. WHEN I ARRIVED IN DOTHAN, MY ROOM WAS VERY NASTY SO I WENT TO FRONT DESK TO COMPLAIN WHICH I WAS OFFERED ANOTHER ROOM. I WENT TO CHECK OUT THE OTHER ROOM AND FOUND IT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. WET TOWELS ON THE BED, BED NOT MADE, GARBAGE IN WASTE BASKETS, OLD SOAP AND SHAMPOO IN TUB. I WENT TO FRONT DESK AND TOLD THEM TO CANCELL MY RESERVATION BECAUSE I REFUSE TO STAY IN A MOTEL AS NASTY AS THIS ONE. I FOUND OUT 1 WEEK LATER THAT THE QUALITY INN AT DOTHAN CHARGED ME AN ADDITIONAL $114. FOR A 2 NIGHT STAY. I WILL NEVER STAY AT QUALITY INN AGAIN. THEY REALLY NEED TO CHANGE THE NAME BECAUSE IT DOES NOT FIT.

  102. Quality Inn Midtown, 7100 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA- June 21, 2014 thru June 24, 2014. We reserved a handicapped room for 7 days. 3rd day we informed the clerk at the front desk that there was a refrigerator tractor trailer which needs to run all night parked near our room. We asked the front desk to have the truck moved to another area as it was loud, vibrating, a big disturbance. Front desk clerk, Sana Badel, told us she would take care it. We left for an hour came back the truck was still there still running. Spoke to the front desk was told the driver turned it off he didn't. The front desk said they would call him again. We gave the front desk one hour then called to see what was going on. Were told she was too busy checking in guests we would have to wait she will let us know. We understood gave them another hour to check in the people and let us know what was happening. When we haven't heard from the desk we called asked what was happening. We were told several stories, she didn't know who owned the truck, she didn't think he was in the hotel, she called him he didn't answer, she contacted him he will move it etc. No one went near the truck, it was right in view of our room. It was starting to get late the truck was still there still running. At 10 pm the front desk clerk told us we had two choices: Pack up and move rooms (pouring rain, thunder and lightening)/we can call the cops ourselves and proceeded to hang up on us. This is unacceptable behavior for any customer service. We waited since 6 pm to get something done. At 10 pm nothing has been done and she is hanging up on us. My handicapped boyfriend's blood pressure is skyrocketing he is so upset he can't sleep. Asked to speak to the manager was told he was not available. Asked for security to do something told there really isn't any security. 11 pm 5 hours of being told stories, getting hung up on the clerk finally gave me the
"security guard" said he found the driver, woke him up asked him to move the truck. An aggravating 5 1/2 hours since we nicely asked at 6 pm to 11:30 pm when it was finally moved. We offer any help or compensation for the 5 1/2 hours of aggravation we endured and the sleepless night that followed. While we were speaking to him Mr. Patel let us know that the truck driver stays every week. If that is the case then they knew who the truck driver was they knew what area of the hotel he was in. They also knew he had just checked in that evening. So the excuse that they had to check all 110 rooms to find the driver was not true. The manager didn't seem to care that it took that long to take care of a simple situation or that his night clerk told a handicapped person their only choice is to pack up move his room in the pouring rain or call the police ourselves. If that wasn't enough of a bad customer service but add her hanging up on us telling us she didn't have time for us. After an hours of back and forth of being told we were wrong and explaining the rude behavior and the multiple stories told to us the manager finally decided to take the one night off of the bill and said he would "speak" to the clerk about her behavior. We told him we want a reprimand in her file at the very least he still said he would "speak" to her and would check the camera's to verify our story as if we were lying about the whole thing. We are long time Choice Privilege members look for Choice Hotels for the service they provide. This hotel is NOT UP TO THE STANDARD of a Choice Hotel and should be removed from Choice Privilege. WE WILL be making sure that all our friends, family and ourselves do not pick any Quality Choice Hotels to stay in ever again if this is what they have become. One guest should never be ignored for the sake of another guest. And as to your Director of Sales for Midtown Savannah, Sam D. when he responds to a bad review perhaps you should train him to not further berated the customer in a response to a bad review especially with false information.

  103. My six year old daughter just wanted to go to a hotel to swim for her birthday. the ad for Quality Inn On Helen Dr. in Perrysburg, Ohio said it had a heated pool so we chose that one to go to. Checked in and went to the room and it smelled like mold and mildew, my girls still wanted to stay so they changed into their swim suits and we headed to the pool, both girls stopped on the first step and said pool was freezing so I stuck my foot in and it felt like ice cubes. they ended up playing in the hot tub which was really just warm not hot for 20 min and they were done and wanted to leave. BTW we did NOT smell any chlorine at all Sunday or Monday morning (the pool area smelled like a lake) not a pool...another couple came into the pool area and left because it was to cold to swim. they did finally go back later in the evening and swim for 15- 20 min. Later that evening in the room which was a non smoking room we could smell cigarette smoke coming from elsewhere. When our toilet plugged up from just a little toilet paper my husband went to the desk to see if someone could unplug it and they gave him the plunger to do it himself. The breakfast in the morning was very nice and my children enjoyed that part the most. I felt bad for my daughter to lose out on her birthday because of false advertising that the pool was heated and it wasn't. Lisa

  104. My husband and son stayed at the Quality Inn Downtown Baltimore. The hotel itself was okay but we got charged twice for the room. Instead of crediting him back, he got charged again, which now made it three times what we should have been originally billed. None of the billing statements from the hotel showed this but our account statement did. Sounds like a scam to me! My husband got nowhere with that particular hotel manager so we took it up with our bank (the card issuer) when he got home. Still haven't gotten our money back. Will never, ever use any Quality Inn because of this.

  105. We stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites at 314 W Bijou in Colorado Springs August 6-9. Shortly after our arrival, my bank account was tapped for $150 (three separate transactions) for a broken window in room 148. The window was two-paned and only broken on the outside pane - it appeared to have been broken for some time. The charges appeared before we had room service (which we finally had to call for on Thursday) so it made the timing somewhat suspect. The GM responded to our call but my funds were tied up until we returned home - not released until August 11, five days later. We've called to see if they would offer some type of compensation for our inconvenience, but no one will return our calls.

  107. We were really excited for our family's adventure to Pgh. We get to the hotel a little early. Went into the office to see if they had a room ready.
The manager and an employee were standing behind the desk chatting. Did not even acknowledge that we walked through the door. (unbelievable)!
Waited for 10 min until my husband interrupted their personal conversation. Asking about the room. Room was not ready, so we leave and come back at 4.
He said someone just checked our room and it was ready. I get to the room AND... I have to CLEAN the pubic hair off the toilet, the remaining bar of soap n hair off the sink and in the shower, the tooth paste off the mirror, coffee and grounds out of coffee pot. Kitchen sink, wipe the goo and crumbs off the counterAnd to top it all off, I check the beds to find fuzzes and hair in it. How FREAKING GROSS!!! I go to the manager, he looks at me like I'm crazy and says would you like to move to another room. I said no I already cleaned It! Ya know I am ok with dated places but I am not ok with someone else's filth! NO APOLOGY FROM THE MANAGER! Just a look of disgust! If you were any kind of manager you would appoligize and make your employees do their job! It's no wonder the hotel has the reviews it does!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
