  1. if there is anyone out there looking to business with OneMainFinancial or Citi Finance I recommend that they not do it.... I have been trying to work thru some problems and have been nothing but harassed, laughed at and not called back and this has been by MANAGEMENT people for this company

I have been with OneMainFinancial for years now and I hate every sec. of it the management are the rudest people I have ever can across in my life. if my payment is due on a Tuesday and I don't get payed Till Friday by Tuesday evening they call leaving a message that is harassing, rude, and sound like screaming at points. If a person has no choice but to get a loan through them I would say Just do with out. I am looking into getting a loan through my bank to pay them off and get away from this company for good. they are nothing but rude, harassing people that act like they are better then everyone.

    2. Yes I have had nothing but Rude & embarassing treatment from them. They really do call the same day if your payment is'nt made. I DO NOT reccommend this company. They often threaten with a trip to court or take whatever they can from you so you have nothing. They really don't care about anything except getting their money with 3x the amount paid back. I will never ever use this company again.

I called five days ago an still no call back I need money to fix my furnace but they don't care that its -15° outside I have never been late on a payment I never missed a payment I think Its sad apparently they don't need the money ...I would suggest that you look elsewhere for a loan company who cares a little bit for the consumer

    4. I have a friend that works in a local office so I am happy with that. Everyone else there ( Management included) has called me at work even though I told them if they do I could lose my job. The manager then told me to call them but I work the same hours they do and they do not care. I have called them but no comments were put in the system so the guy told my mom that it did not matter then. These people need it all to come back to them and soon. I really do not like them. I had the manager speak to my mom about my account without my permission and was very rude with her about it.

    5. OMG! thought I was the only one! These are the rudest, disrespectful, unprofessional people in "Customer Service." When you call they act as if you are a bothering them. I asked to receive a payment history from 2006 to present and the woman was like "your loan has been paid off so we can't provide dates of payoff". What the...? Then she tells me she has been on the phone with me for 16 minutes...AND!!? Once this loan is paid off...NEVER AGAIN!

    1. I, too, have had the same treatment. I was basically told I was a liar. I was talked down to and I am a professional person. I was the one who was lied to when I got my loan. I was told I had to do ACH payments when, in fact, I was not required to. I was told it was because of my payment history but I had lost my job and the insurance was supposed to pay my loan. They didn't pay on time which affected my history. I was treated badly by the manager and I was in tears.

    2. I'm sad to hear that you were in tears Anonymous. They repo'd my car last week when I was only 38 days late! I wish I had never done business with them, but the company I worked for went bankrupt in 2011, so I had to take out a loan with them. I already had slow credit because of working for Enron, and being underemployed since Enron went under. I worked for a jerk boss last year who chewed me out to the point of I was in tears, so in a way, that jerk prepared me to be as mean to the OneMain witch as she was to me, so it was essentially a stand-off. Finally, I did have to call the corporate office and have them tell the witch to accept my payment--rather than her trying to make me payoff the entire balance of about $10K!

      I hope you're doing much better now. It is tough and the corrupt companies like OneMain keep getting richer!

  4. I was contacted by a representative eho asked when I was going to make my monthly installment payment. I thought this was odd because the payment was not late, and I had never been late on a payment. I spoke with a distreict manager about this practice, but he thought sawe nothing wrong with her conduct. I am sending then\m a leter to instruct them not top call me unless they have a legitimate (legal) reason to do so. I guess some people are paid to be be stupid. Others do it for charity.

  5. My husband & I were treated exactly the way the respondent on 10/16/12 was. We have been treated this way for over 2 years now and its still happening and it's WRONG. We feel this company is playing with our lives/money and getting away with it and there is nothing we can do. We are in a situation where we can't afford to hire an attorney to fight for us. The attorney general office won't step in to investigate unless there has been more complaints. What is sad is we are thinking of telling this company to take our house. We are tired and drained from all the bull**** with this company. Thank you.

  7. I recently paid off my loan and miracuously still owe them interest on a zero balance. When I tried to speak with the "gentleman", and I use that term very loosely, he was patronizing and talked to me like I was an idiot. I work in a public based business and this company has no business... being in business.

    1. I borrowed 6,000 and paid a lump sum of 3,000 only to find out a two months later that it all went to interest because of some rule they have called 80/20. NOT FAIR, should be illegal. I have stopped paying at this point. I have paid them approximately $6,000 and my balance has barely changed. I have had this loan for a little over a year. This cannot be legal. I was planning to pay off early to avoid interest and was told that I could do that without penalty but this is not true. The interest has to be paid first or at least 80% of it according to my understanding of what they NOW tell me!

  10. I have been paying a loan with them for almost 8 years and owe more than I borrowed!!! I have called the federal trade commission on them repeatedly! They call me endlessly and I'm about to just tell them to stick it. I'd rather be stuck with a judgment....a debt collection company would harass me LESS!!!

  12. I will never use them again when we get out of this loan. The is a federal government that active duty soldiers can not have a interest of more than 6%. They increase the interest to 27% because we were behind 1 payment they were unwilling to work with us. Not to mention they called every day. If you don't have one day you won't have it the next day. Our loan is way more than we borrowed due to the raise of 27% this rate we will never !!!! get it paid off. So my husband is notifying JAG to see what they can do. Looking at the comments I am not alone. I didn't read them until I was writing my comment.

    1. I understand completely. I just lost my house and this company lowered my payments. Now they are saying this was a temporary. Now they have raised them $100 more a month then they were. i just got off the phone and theyt told me now I am behind on the payments. I told them I made May's payment and they said I no longer qualify for the lower payment. You have to talk to the branch that was so sweet to give you the loan and now turn on you. They have my car title only this is an unsecured loan. I can not get the balance down at all. I have no other option but to see an attorney and file bankruptcy on them. I lost my great job, my home and they can have my 10 yr old car. Life is way to short to deal with these kind of people the rest of your life. They do not care about any one but themselves. I know they have a job to do, but you get further being nice then treating them as if they are scum. Things happen to good people. I am so sorry about your loss. I know it has been a while, but sometimes it takes a while.

  16. I am too disheartened with this company. My husband and I tried to get a loan yesterday at his credit union to make some home repairs---we were turned down because this account is being reported as 'unsecured" when it is secured. I call the main office and they said there was nothing they could do about it!!!! I just got off the phone and I had a very 'snotty" customer service representative telling me that an "unsecure' loan status is better than a "secured" status and she said they do not report to the three reporting agencies for credit scores. I asked who did and she talked her way around this! And, my loan, has not gone one penny is the 18 mos we have had this loan!!!!! I am currently trying to sell our camper so I can get this paid off and off my credit reporting as "unsecured' I am also going to write to the 3 reporting agencies that it is secured!

    I needed the money at the time, but the hassle that has gone with it along with the high interest charge is unreal! It would be easier to get money from a loan shark than this company.

    DON'T GET A LOAN HERE EVER, EVER, EVER--YOU WILL BE IN GRIEF THE WHOLE TIME YOU HAVE THE LOAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pay your loan like you should and start a gruoup where people can get together and obtain attorneys to stop this mess it works better in masses.   18. I was invited in with a smile when I had to replace the roof on my home and wasn't in the position to do so. If I knew then what I know now after dealing with One Main Financial I would have endured the leaks. After signing the attitude changed and the rudeness set in. With the comments listed it is sad to realize the head quarters does not care how their employees are representing them.

  19. I have been dealing with someone named Adam for about a week. The check is in the mail. Yeah right. I was charged twice for the same account this month. When I asked for one of the payments returned I was told he would have it taken care of. Well between the lies and what not I am still waiting. I intend to get a hold of the Atty General in my state and make a complaint. Not only was I charged twice but I also had a over draft fee tacked on that they would not pay. So I had to.

  20. your staff at beech grove were supposed to call me 6 days a go on my modifaction loan and no one called they are short with me don't have any answers to my questions unprofessional people no customer service no customer skills just just rude ive had enough im reporting the hole staff to attorney generals office the local news and Washington dc I want answers and professional staff im sending a letter to dc today u told me my house was worth 106.ooo no its not the appraisal said only 65.ooo never was worth 106.000 I owe more than its worth this will get reported to every one attorney general to Washington dc thanks

  21. Why did any of you get mixed up with a finance company to start with? Do you have a poor credit history, or do you not bother reading what you're signing? Whenever you're borrowing money, you're at the mercy of the lender's rules, whether it's a finance company or a major bank. Borrower beware!

  23. We borrowed money from this company, and the interest is adding up daily. Now we owe more thsn we borrowed from them. The Management their is very rude and crule as well, and they talk to you like you're less than they are. God doesn't like ugly, and people who tries to get over on his children. Always read documents before you sign them because they will bite you in the end. They need to go out of business because they are "predators"... No kind hearts for those who are in need of help.   25. My mother had a loan with One Main and she passed away in June. I contacted this office immediately. I have heard my mother complain about how harrassing this company can be about calling if you are a day late with your payment and read many reviews with the same complaint. Funny, I can't seem to get ANYONE from this company to return my phone calls. When I do actually get someone to return a call, they seem not to have any idea what they are doing. The incompetence of the employees, from managers to customer service, is staggering. I have yet to deal with anyone who has any clue how to do their job. I have never had a loan with this company and wouldn't reccommend to anyone to get a loan with this company.

Its sad when you call and want to work something out with them to pay their crazy fees and this is how you get treated. You wont receive any money from either one of us with treatment like this.

  28. This has happened to me as well. Predatory lenders at work here. Don't get a loan with this company. I applied just because I was turned down for yrs. at other companies. And I should not have accepted the $8500 they approved me of. That was a red flag...but when you are faced with debt and the nice way they treated me when I first went into the office, I accepted it. Well everything went smoothly until I missed 1 payment.....my Dr.Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde story began. Nasty, rude, liars is what they became and how they treated me. Run from them if you are thinking of doing business with them. RUN!

  29. I have been dealing with the office in Indianapolis on the southside. The manager there is very rude. The guy I am dealing with called me a liar indirectly. My payments come out of my bank account. I received a deferment in the mail for my January pymt due to my daughter being in a auto accident in Dec. then the last part of January I ask for a deferment for February and papers were signed, The middle of the month the manager called wanting to know when I would make the payment. I explained I had signed a deferment with Hector and she called me a liar. They can't give back to back deferments. Hector did. I finally agreed to make the payment with my March payment but they call everyday 2-3 times per day wanting the February payment. I want to get them paid off as fast as I can then never deal with this company again.

  31. I took out a loan for $10,000 I recently totaled the car the loan was up against. My insurance company paid them $ 3,433.00 and ALL the money went to interest. I have been paying this loan off for over 2 years and have barely made a dent. The interest is so high! I’m at the point where I might just file for bankruptcy what else can they do now. I have no car and no money!

I refuse to deal with these people any longer They have messed my account up and turn it back around on me like it is my fault. They advertise Customer Appreciation day and get treated like a piece of crap over the phone. I just want my account handled by individuals that know what they are doing. I will never take another loan out with this company ever again.

  36. I just had a conversdation with customer service about the highly unusal business practices that the 1 main financial uses to collect a debt. Manny felt the need to contact a neighbor of mine(of which I don't even know her name) Told her he was a friend of mine that he was concerned about me. When I called the company back HE LAUGHED at me and could not believe I was up set. Pat lied about being open on Sat. so I would try and make the pmt on a friday to make it easier for him to close out the month. Today I went to make a paretial pmt and because it was not the full pmt I had an ADULT roll her eyes at me and say "This will do nothing for your account" I was floored. I will never recommend or do business with this company again and after seeing the complaints this seems to be the way business is done with them.

  37. Terrible company. My mom and dad have a car loan through them and have paid the value of the car over 3 times and the amount of the loan barely decreases. I recently took over the loan for them and have been making payments by phone for the last 6 months and now suddenly they will not take my money over the phone without my mom's personal information. What kind of company declines taking a payment. I wasn't making an inquiry into the acct only making a payment. They have no problem harassing my mom and dad if the payment doesn't get made but make it difficult to make payments over the phone. I am highly aggravated by this.

  38. Absolute crap company. My last statement states due $0.00 yet they took $217.00 out of my account because I owed them $2.52, I will be refunded the rest in 10 business days. Do that to 1000 customers a month, nice way to accrue unearned interest on the account.

I must admit that the only rude experience that I have had has been consistent with one person. The employee's name is Desiree and she works at the office in Chickasha Oklahoma. She is very disrespectful and unprofessional and finds her behavior humorous.

  42. We have been paying on this for years and are behind a payment by only a couple of weeks.
    When we started paying we paid every month like clockwork but when we checked with them
    they said we had accrued late charges of about $300.00. That is one months worth of
    payment added with no reason. They think they can charge whatever they want with no
    requirement to explain. This evening someone from the local office of One Main came by,
    banging on our door demanding to be let in. Only when I told my husband to
    call the police did she leave. She claimed they were not getting their payments even
    though we have been paying online each month. I would think that would be a matter between
    headquarters and the local offices. I wonder who would be willing to go forth with a class
    action suit against this unscrupulous company. Bigger giants than One Main have fallen!!!

  44. I did a loan on 10/31/14. It was referred to to the branch close to me. I did not hear anything from the branch so I called. The person who I spoke with stated she wanted to go over the application with me. I informed her that I already had someone do that. She tells me, "Well I am not going to put my name on an application that I don't know anything about." She I informed her everything is on the app correct because I already spoke to someone at the loan 800 number. She started laughing. I asked to speak to a manager and was told, "he just stepped out." So I said, "there is no manager." She said, "we have an assistant." I spoke to the assistant to have about this. She arranged to have someone call me the next day at 5:45 pm. The girl called at 6:47, 13 minutes before closing. When I express my dis-satisfaction, she laughed. Asked for the manager. I got the manager and she asked, "sir are you sure? I didn't hear any of my employees laugh." REALLY? I was livid and hung up. Called to make a complaint and was given Customer Service number at 855-663-6246. Spoke to a lady and expressed my concerns. She cuts me off right in the middle to ask me my ssn and to verify my information. After doing so, she says, "I am going to refer your loan over to the branch." I said, "that has already been done." She replies, "we don't do anything with the loans here." I didn't ask that. She then said, "Sir I ask that you not use profanity." Which I never did. She refused to transfer me to a supervisor after me asking several times. She hung up. I called back and got someone else, who told me no supervisors were available. Then she said, "I can't just blind transfer." She then says things that I never said. When I ask for a manager she says, "hold on" Where does she transfer me, to the branch I want to make the complaint and to the manager who I have a complain about! This company can go out of business!

  45. Good afternoon.
    I am a One Main Financial customer that got into some trouble with my loan. It was prompted by an unexpected Medical Expense.
    I contacted the branch where I acquired my loan. (Mansell Road-Alpharetta, GA) to discuss my problem. From that moment on I was harassed and threatened by someone named Mary More calls everyday, night, and on the weekends, at work, at home, than I can mention, even after I asked her to stop. She was so "mean" in fact that it didn't take long for me to be scared to return her calls or answer the phone.
    I wanted to fulfill my obligation and pay my loan back so I was forced to contact Consolidated Credit Services. They got me squared away...all but One Main. It took forever to have this go through with you in part because of how uncooperative Mary was. Even after she finally agreed it didn't happen because then she/you decided that you would need more money per month than they were offering.Finally got things squared away, and have gone almost a year without a hitch. October, I was unable to have the automatic payment drafted, but have resumed again for the November payment. The problem is that Mary is doing her thing again. I have to tell you, that I am WAY eligible to file a Chapter 7 according to Georgia's Means test, income-wise, and I do not own any property etc. That is my only alternative if the harassment continues. I can tell you that no other creditor has behaved this way.
    These days, things happen and you should try and work with people that are earnestly trying to do the right thing.
