  1. I am very upset that Giant Eagle in the Akron-Canton area has recently pulled several products that people with peanut and nut allergies buy, simply because they may not sell as much. The Sun Butter is no longer available in the 4 stores I visited. Today I thought I would check back and ran into a lady who could only use a certain pumpkin spice creamer because the others have coconut oil. What happens when other people with similar issues stop shopping at Giant Eagle and decide to take their business to the Whole Foods store down the street. We're not taking about a few dollars anymore. I buy hundreds of dollars in organic and special food items at Giant Eagle every month.

  2. I am not going back to Giant Eagle until they pull their disgraceful support of United Gay. I don't want to be asked at your counters to support a non-profit organization who advocates for openly gay Boy Scoutmasters and Boy Scouts. If openly gay people want to do this, a male should be a Girl Scoutmaster and visa versa. I don't want my Boy Scout son to be sharing a tent with an openly gay male, therefore I will not shop at Giant Eagle until the United Gay fundraiser is over. I am cc-ing this message to around 60 local Clevelanders with the advise to send it to all reasonable thinking people in their address book. Let me know when you've come to your senses.

    1. And why dont you want your "boy scout son to be sharing a tent with an openly gay male"? Do you think gay males are rapists and will sexually assault your boy or do you just think it's catchy? We have to share this planet with so called "reasonable thinking people" who either think a gay person should be ashamed of how they were born and need to hide it or that have the misguided notion that they "choose" to be gay in the first place. If WE have to suck it up why shouldn't you?

    2. Yes, most gay people will tell you they were turned buy an older man while quite young, particularly during puberty. If you want to believe you were born gay, that's your cross to bear. You came from your mothers womb with natural heterosexual tendencies as God intended you or he would have made you a woman. somewher along the line you made a choice or one was forced on you. Something perverted your thinking
and we don't need to pass that on to others through Scouting!

  3. So, you couldn't bring yourself to publish what I had to say. You must be gay.

  4. I was in the Ashtabula store between 4 and 5. I want to the bakery attempted to buy a nut roll, and asked them to put icing on it. Very Very Very rude to me. and told me that the would not put icing on it even though they did it in the past. there was no problem doing it. She said she refused. she didnt want to get dirty. so she called the manager. i was then told the girl could do it if she wanted too. the manager and the girl said to me. that they refused to do this because the didnt want the mess of puting it on the nut roll. how hard is it too do. i was told by the young girl at the bakery to buy the dam thing like it was. and you lost a customer. from this time i will be shopping at the madison giant eagle. my name Lucille Specht address is 1027 west 43rd street ashtabula oh 44004

  5. Please bring back to the bakery in Leetsdale the toasted coconut donuts! My favorite. I was surprised to learn they are no longer making them.

  6. I work at a giant eagle store so I can tell you how nice it is and also how bad it is. Some employees go beyond what they should to make customers happy while others need to be fired on the spot. They say its a family company while the store I work in has lost many workers in the past months solely because of the way they are treated. How these people keep their jobs when many customers have complained about them is beyond me. I work at giant eagle and am mortified at the complete ignorance this company has toward customer service!

  7. I have had numerous problem with the Giant Eagle Pharmacy, in Ravenna, Ohio. The Manager there is rude & arrogent. I have went through the district pharmasist for the store and he thinks the manager is just peachy. I have called coorporate in Pittsburgh, Pa. Talked to numerous times. I just got of the phone with Tammy. I told her that it seems like the only way I am going to be able to talk to anybody is to drive to Pittsburgh and go to corporate headquarters and maybe somebody would talk to me. You then she threatened me that i could talk with loss prevention, if I was going to cause a scene. I never said I was going to cause a scene, all want to do was talk to somebody, that would do something. I transferred all my prescriptions to Marc's and their prices have been much lower, and they treat you nice. I have told Giant Eagle that a particular medication is free my husband goes there to pick it up and they have charged us for the medication. They have done this 10s of times. Then we have to go back & get a refund. They have made us go into the store, wait in line
to get a refund. They have told us that we can't go through the drive through. They match prices, but you have to tell them 4 or 5 times and they still mess it up. I had surgery before labor day. The doctor ordered pain medication & an antibiotic. I was in no shape to call around to get the best price match. I called back witihin a day or 2 after I started feeling better. I found the antibiotic almost $100 dollars cheaper. I called and talked to the manager Mike and asked for a price match & he told me I needed to call the day the prescription was filled. He gave me such a hard time & said I was sick, I was in severe pain. I got pain meds and an antibiotic. No compassion, rude, arrogant. So that's when I went to the district manager. He made t right and gave me difference back. Things like this continued. had a prescrption problem again, I got to know Fred the district manager. The last time had a problem
with the pharmacy, contacted Fred, He told me he would take care of it. He lead me on for over 3 weeks to tell me that before I filled a prescription to call him. That was not taking care of me, it was placing the problem back in my hands. Wanting me to do their jobs that they should have been doing all the time. That is not taking care of me. The pharmacy was so rude to write all over my bags & one time n a red marker saying the prescription, wasn't free. Threw some papers in his face saying this is what we have to go by. We told them it was wrong. The prescription was free and again they charged. I have been given excuse after excuse. I have called them before the precription was filled, after it was filled & when my husband went to pick it up he told them it was free, They still charged us. I was told they had a new computer system & they had more room to leave notes. Guess what they still screwed it up. WOULD YOU BE UPSET. So get ur prescriptions filled at Marc's if you don't have insurance. Even if you have insurance, shop around. Stay away from the Giant Eagle pharmacy in Ravenna, Ohio. Maybe you like to be aggrevated. I guess I did, we kept it there for the fuel perks. It isn't worth the aggrevation.

  8. a employee at the giant eagle on broad street in johnstown was fired because of a rule violation that was not his fault his name is Travis. a picture with giant eagles logo was posted on Facebook and it was by someone who stole his phone and did it managers and other people who know him and like him at the store have been stepping forward and saying that he did not do it and they are still not hiring him back and also keeping information from him, so we are standing together to stop shopping at broad street giant eagle until he regains his position, giant eagle will loose allot of money because allot of us just come down there to see him which helps there business. he is the sweetest kid i know and he is never rude to people unless its completely necessary. this job was the only thing supporting his family with bills and taking care of his mother who is dying from cancer.his home is also going to be taken away from him because he cant pay the bills so thank you corporate for destroying a young kids life giant eagle is suppost to be a family oriented maket from what they say and that they care so much about there employees. we will stop at nothing until he gets his job back, do not make this kid suffer anymore!

  9. I think your commercial with the lady putting down people who buy their food at places where they can buy non-food products is trashy and insensitive. In this super-fast and crazy world one stop shopping allows for more time for more important things like family time. I know my small grocery bill will not effect your big profits, but just wanted to let you know that you have one less customer. In this world where so much is said about bulling, that is what your commercial portrays. You have to put places like Wal-Mart, K-mart, ect. down to make yourselves look great and that is a form of bullying.

  10. Giant Eagle store in Columbus, OH at 2801 N High is looking very cluttered. Lots of displays making it difficult to navigate the aisles. Glass jars of spaghetti sauce stacked 8 boxes high IN THE AISLE jutting out about 2 feet at an angle is definitely dangerous. Displays are in the aisles EVERYWHERE. They are now in the check out aisles also. I caught my coat on one. One display blocks the scale by the bananas. When I pointed this out to a produce worker named Tom, he told me I could use a scale two aisles away. Whenever I make a complaint about something in the store, I always get the answer that they aren't the one that makes the decision about it. Talking to the store manager brings more of the same-it is always someone else who makes the decision or gives direction. When I ask the person to please take it up with whoever that person is, there is an ok and an attitude that it will not be taken any further. When the store 1st opened, the aisles were clear and wide - now one is lucky if they can get two carts past each other in one. Lots of standing and waiting for things to clear. Do any of your executives ever go into one of your stores and try to shop? Take a look around and see what it looks like? Very very crowded which looks sloppy! And unhelpful employees.

  11. How frustrating it is to have a problem with a employee at a Giant Eagle store and no real way of letting Corporate @ Giant Eagle know about it. Giant Eagle does a great job of keeping secrets from those that MIGHT be able to do something about them. It's sooooo obvious that they don't want to hear from the people that fill their pockets with money. All they want to hear is cha- ching. I was treated very rudely by the same employee twice and there is no way of letting anyone other than the manager "on duty" at the time about it. Could it be because they really don"t care? I think so. Contrary to Laura on their tv commercials, Giant Eagle really doesn't care about you and your "family" as she claims. If they really cared about your satisfaction, they would make it much easier for us to contact someone that could remedy these "poor treatment" situations. As for my wife and I, we will be shopping elsewhere. The prices at Aldi's are much lower and they actually treat you with much more courtesy. Giant Eagle should realize they ARE NOT the only game in town. They pretty much had it made for so long that they took the customers for granted. Well, tougher financial times and more people out of work or working less hours is forcing them to take a long hard look at Giant Eagle and discover that you can be treated rudely elsewhere for ALOT less money. After decades of shopping at Giant Eagle, we will be not be shopping there any longer, with the exception of gift cards, and that may end soon also. I am just really fed up with Giant Eagle and the way they treat you.

  12. The above review was after an experience at the Parma Heights,Ohio store. Some great people work there, (like Brian, the assistant manager ?) who could not have been nicer and more understanding. My wife and I will miss him. I can see why he's in a managerial position. Giant Eagle needs more like him and less rude, short tempered people like the one that I dealt with, twice. My point earlier was that Giant Eagle doesn't even make it easy to give kudos for a job well done,as in my dealings with Brian. Great guy, great employee. Giant Eagle got lucky with that guy.Keep up the good work and PROFESSIONALISM Brian.

  14. Dropped a suit off for cleaning, and to have a button reattached, and I provided the button. This is your Water Front location.18 days later still not in, after promise after promise date still no suit called today and spoke to a Lady in the dry cleaning dept. She stated to me "I told you before the seamstress is out sick replied that is not my problem, at that point she flew off the handle, I then asked her for the Corp.phone number. She said she would transfer me to a manager. this woman was certainly no customer friendly, and just horrable. All I want is my suit returned tomorrow, fixed or not Period waited for 23 minutes, before realizing this woman just put me on hold. I called back and was transferred right away to a manager Mike.I just want my suit back. Thank You

  15. I recently attempted to refill a prescription at the Giant Eagle in Madison, Ohio. When I called the pharmacy I was told my refills had been cancelled by my Doctor's Office. I contacted my Doctor, who had not made such a call. She re-ordered my medicine. All the pharmacy tech said was "I never saw that before". Where are the safety checks?
