    1. I was employed with them twice and fired both times! Their management is crooked than all get out. Tom Glossup from Eltoro, CA store is a crook, and Lake Forrest store management are crooks. Isaac Alexander a rather large black guy in upper management is a real crook. I'm a mechanic and an honest mechanic. Firestone treats their employees within the law and violates the laws. Frankly dont do business with them their crooks geneerally unless they tell you otherwise.

    2. I went to firestone in springfield oh (where i live) for a overheating problem with my car. They replaced a radiator hose that had a pin hole in it, tightened the radiator clamp and added antifreeze.(75.00) 3days later I take it into the Fairborn store close to my work for rattling under my hood. they told me I needed a timing belt and that the timing belt came as a kit with the water pump so I would have to have both. (830.00) 3 days later my car is over heating and I take it back. They say the really don't know but its's an enternal problem possibly head gasket. They are crooks tring to rebuild my whole car. Sad part is I don't have anymore money to fix anything. And I put my trust in them.

REALLY?! Then the car was making a horrible noise and come to find out, there were three lugs loose from them fixing my tire!!! I was very lucky. Please be aware if you go to Firestone.

    4. Bought new tires at Firestone, a week later got an alignment, paid for an alignment. Drove off only to have my car pull to the right which I have NEVER had that do on any of my cars. Took my car to a guy who owns a repair shop, he showed me there was no alignment done on the back wheels. I spent time waiting for my alignment, paid for my alignment...Firestone? Not in the near future...someone should do an over haul of employees who are dishonest...Fire them all and hire people that do care about their reputation. Firesone on Ramon in Cathedral City. CA

    5. Anonymous from March 22,

Is your car front wheel or rear wheel? What kind of car do you drive? Some things when it comes to alignments are not adjustable. Did they give you a before and after? Did you think that the other shop you took it to could have lied to you or possible had an uncalibrated machine. Did you know that air pressures can affect the pull of your car too? did you know the wear of your tires could affect the pull of your car? Before all of you people start flying off the handle about any automotive company, you have no idea the complexities of automobiles. No every repair every time is going to be 100%. There are things that go wrong. Damned be any of you if you made a mistake at your work and someone flew off the handle about your company. Did you ask Firestone to fix the alignment or recheck it? If you didn't, then that is your problem. If you took it back and asked for a recheck and they refused to make it right.. then yeah, fly off the handle. But until you consider how complex your vehicle is and evaluate what YOU actually know about vehicles, don't smack talk any company in the auto industry. Just ask them to make it right. If they make it right, then wins all around! Not everyone in the automotive industry is out to get you people! Yes every company wants to make sales, but it is by far better to be honest and have someone return, even if they don't get repairs right away. You do a customer right, they will be back. But give a company a chance to rectify their mistake and please you!

    7. They don't ask questions, they just tell you what you need and then don't fix it!! I paid hundreds of dollars for front and rear brakes and front and rear rotors on my daughters car. A licensed mechanic looked at it and the pads were never replaced, she has 3% pads left and this is only 4 months since their work. There was also a lot of silver spray paint, quite obvious, to make everything look new! There is laws regarding brakes, how dare they jeopardize my daughters life or anybody elses. And, the car was taken back and they didn't want to look at it!!

    10. Firestone on James Island, SC isn't any better. My brother had brake work done, & got a lifetime warranty. Went back, was told the warranty would not cover the work, estimate was $1427.45. He took his car elsewhere, and the bill was $418.14. Go figure!

    1. I went to the one in Springfield, NJ on July 22.2012. They had internet coupons for tires, alignment and brake job. They changed the tires and did alignmanet(I am not sure about that as the car still pulls to the right. They said my brakes are fine, I don't need to change them. I went back again on July 27,2012 as I wanted to use that coupn for $89.95 for brake pad and resurface rotors. As I walked in and asked for it, they said they would have done it last time if I needed it. I said I want to change the pads. Guess what, now they give me a bill for $360.36 saying that I need pads, rotors, brake flush. How is that possible. They just didn't want to do the $89.95 brake jobs, because they weren't making any money. How unethical...never again. Stay away from FIRESTONE....

    2. When I deal with Firestone, I tell them what noise, vibration, etc. I feel in the car. The manager always calls me to approve any work. I don't understand why they did all that brake work without your approval. You should be able to contract someone in their district office to complain.

    3. The one in Knoxville Tennessee is also dishonest. I went and had front and back brakes put on my car And they charge me almost $500! Saying that I had pressed on brakes, and they had to use the machine to get them off this what cost so much! I only needed front brakes, when I picked it up I needed back breaks! They are very dishonest!! Firestone Knoxville Tennessee

    4. BOISE, IDAHO Firestone Complete Auto Care on Broadway Ave- Very disappointed in the lack of service at this location. The store manager, Dan Cairns, seemed burned out to me and didn't want to be there and certainly showed no genuine concern for my auto problem. June 2013 I paid $453 to replace both the front drive half shafts and CV assemblies on my little 2001 Suzuki Swift. I was OK with the price and diagnosis, but after the job was completed and I picked up the vehicle and drove it around awhile, I noticed that the front end "shuddered" and "shook" mildly while accelerating at around the 15 mph mark. This was a new problem that did not exist prior to me bringing it in for repair. I was surprised that no one brought it to my attention when I picked up the car, the shaking was obvious, and unacceptable. I called Firestone back the next day after picking it up to let them know that the auto was now shaking when accelerating. I was told to bring it back in for them to check out, no problem. I drove it around for another week, dropped back into the store and personally spoke with Dan about the issue and what could be done and he said maybe the tires needed balanced, maybe they had knocked off a tire weight when servicing the vehicle. So I made an appointment to bring the car back in July 2013. Dan drove it around the block while I waited, he came back into the store, handed me my car key and essentially told me to live with it. Dan made no suggestions on what could be done to address this new problem, he offered nothing, except to say that maybe the clutch was going out. Huh? I asked him specifically if he felt the front end shaking and he said yes. I then made it clear to him that the car did not shake when I originally brought it in for repair and I was now disappointed he did not step up to the plate and take any responsibility. He didn't even offer to see if the tires were balanced as he previously suggested. I asked him how much it would cost for him to pull the tires off and balance them, he replied "$16 each and you'll have to make another appointment for next week". He just didn't seem to care. So I went down the street to Big-O-Tires on Main Street, downtown Boise and explained my frustration with Firestone to John, the store manager at Big-O. John had all four tires off my car, inspected, rotated, balanced and put back on within 30 minutes and then didn't charge me a dime. What a reversal in attitude and service! John at Big-O-Tires said my newest tires with the most tread were on the back wheels, so he moved them upfront. The balance and rotation seems to have helped diminish the shaking. My first experience with Firestone Complete Auto Care was with the Missoula, Montana location several years ago where I received great service, enough so that I made it a point to go back to Firestone, this time here in Boise. I guess not all Firestone locations operate on the same level of integrity. John at Big-O-Tires in Boise has my auto care business next time.

  5. I purchased a lifetime alignment service for my vehicle. And recently had my car taken to a firestone by my house and they insisted my lower control arm needed to be replaced. It would cost $550 without tax. Then I took my car to another shop "not Firestone" and all they did was put air on one of The front tire realigned it and that's it. What makes this story even worst is that I had to take my car 3 times to Firestone for my alignment two of those times the same place I purchased their lifetime service and the third time to another store which were the ones that insisted my lower control arm needed to be replaced. I'm very disappointed with their service and would advise anyone to becareful with Firestone!

    1. similar thing happened to me, if you look in the warranty papers. It does not say anything about "tempering with the suspension will opt you out of the lifetime"(2009) but when I came into the firestone out in Huntington Beach,CA. I was opted out of this lifetime. The manager out in HB is also the rudest I have ever seen a company acted upon any customer...

I just dont trust them. one guy said I had major problems and the radiator needed replaced, the fluid was really dirty, the oil needed changed too -funny thing is 3 days before that I just had a new radiator and fluids put in and the oil was changed too! They were just suppose to be replacing a tire with road hazard on it or I would have never been at Firestone.

  8. BRING YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN FIRESTONE FOR SERVICE!!!

I brought my 2002 Camero to the Firestone shop on High Point Road in Greensboro, NC to have the rear main replaced. After about a few months it started leaking again; took it back. They told me to take it to the one on Battleground because they were better qualified. ???!!! They re-fixed it. a few months it leaked again, still leaking. After having my car at Firestone a total of 6 times for the rear main & an oil pan gasket, 12 days total, I had enough. I told the manager about the problem again, this time leaking more than before, He offered to fix it again. I told him I thought it should be fixed by a dealer that knew what they were doing. He told me they would do that.UNTIL his district manager found out it would cost more than they charged me. After all that time wasted I found out that FIRESTONE does not stand behind it work. IF YOU NEED YOUR CAR WORKED ON, GET IT DONE RIGHT BY PEOPLE THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING...NOT FIRESTONE.

  10. DO NOT USE FIRESTONE!! I had my 2000 gmc sierra in for alignment and was told myclutch was going out. I had know it was so i asked them how much and how long? After a higher than normal price they said a few hours. I also had a small oil leak that i thought was from the rear seal. Since they had the transmission out i had them look at that for the leak. I was told it was the rear seal and they would fix it. I also knew i needed a new transmission rear output seal, in fact i had bought one to do myself. I asked if they could install that also since the transmission was going to be out. I was told they cannot use parts brought to them only to get charged double for the same part! I saw the box it came in, it was the same as the one i had? After 5 hours they were done. When i got home i checked for leaks, something you think a ASE certified mechanic would do. I found the oil leak was still there, the trans seal was leaking worse than before, the wires were not put back in the proper hanger clips(just dangling there) and the screws around the shifter boot were not tight because they were not lined up with the holes(but screwed in or pushed in somehow?). I took it back and they said it was the oil pan gasket leaking oil and a bad new part on the trans seal. They agreed to do the pan seal and trans seal also. So after 6 more hours i took it home and immediately saw a puddle of trans fluid. Also checked and still had the oil leak? When i returned again they said they would need the truck for a day to redo the seal and gasket again. After some arguing they gave me a rental car. 2 days later and wasted time and money i got my truck back. The rear seal had been removed improperly which gouged the trans housing and had to be sent to a transmition shop to be repaired. All they did was use some permatex around the seal where it was scarred up. Even i had mentioned that to try that to the manager? Still had the oil leak which they said they did not know but could be a bad new rear seal??? By now i have had enough! They are not going touch this truck anymore. When i got home and inspected again i found the wires and screws messed up again. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO CALL THEMSELVES MECHANICS!!!! Oh did i say i found a bellhouse bolt to the engine block stripped out! Now 8 months later my clutch starts messing up. I reluctantly went back since it was still under warranty and they test drove it and said it was working properly. Kept driving it and now it went out completely in the middle of 60 mph rush hour traffic in Houston!!! NO WAY WILL I EVER USE THEM OR RECOMMENDED THEM TO ANYONE!!! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THE QUALITY OF WORK PERFORMED OR LACK THERE OF!!! FUNNY HOW MY CLUTCH WORKED FINE FOR 11 YEARS AND THIS ONE FIRESTONE DID ONLY LASTED 9 MONTHS!!! This was the store in spring texas on I45 north at rayford sawdust. PLEASE AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

  11. I have had bad experience with Firestone in Delran New Jersey. Three (3) times I have taken my cars for an oil change and each time they tell me there is a nail in one of the tires. They then offer to repair or replace the tire. Each time I took the car to my own mechanic and they could not find anything wrong with the tires. They are a rip off. Don't go there.

    1. Sick of seeing people pull the 'woman' card. Even if you are a dude. I am a girl, and I know about cars. My vagina does not stop my brain from retaining automotive knowledge! Anyone who owns a vehicle or drives one should be responsible for a little self-education. If you don't like what an automotive service does and they don't offer to make it right, learn to do it yourself. Its what I do. I don't let anyone touch my car but me or my father. If I need to replace something I learn how to do it. There are plenty of resources. And elderly? I have met MANY elderly men and a few women who know about cars. Firestone should be taking people out to look at their vehicles. If they aren't, that is a step in their process they missed. Education is key to not getting messed around... IN ANY situation.

  14. We need more businesses like Firestone who VALUE the customer as appose to the DOLLAR. Thank you Brandon (District Manager), Dave (Service Manager) and Mike (Store Manager). In 2011 between September and November, I took my 2007 Nissan Altima to Firestone 1874 Illinois 83 Round Lake Beach, IL 60073 because I needed to replace my two front tires. The rear tires were in pretty good shape as confirmed by Firestone and at that time there was only a need for two. They suggested putting the two new tires on the rear of the car and moving the other tires to the front.

On the eve of August 28th, 2012, I happen to notice that when my car accelerates up to a certain speed that my steering wheel would begin to shake. On August 29th, 2012, I called Firestone spoke with Dave and set an appointment to come in that evening. Based on my experience, whenever there is an issue with the steering wheel shaking upon acceleration, it’s normally the tire or potentially an issue with the suspension. So the first thing that came to my mind was that the two front tires were bad. There were a couple of buckles in them and one could only assume this to be there problem. After my car was checked out, the gentleman told me that my two front tires were bad and that is likely where the issue was coming from. He said the suspension was nice and tight and they didn’t see any issues there. So I approved them to move forward and change those two tires. He then asked if I could come with him to the garage area where my car was being worked on.

When I got back there, he asked me to rub my hands across the tires that I purchased on 2011 as they now notice that those began to buckle. From there he suggested that I get an alignment and said that if I didn’t, it could decline the warranty on the new tires. He also claim that the alignment could have contributed to the new tires I purchased in 2011 buckling. He advised me that I may feel a light shaking in the steering wheel but with the new tires and alignment, this should fixe my issue. Being strapped for time, I scheduled the alignment for Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at 7:00am. When I left Firestone that very same day, I could help but notice that my issue was the “SAME”. I immediately called them the very next morning (August 30th, 2012) and asked that they make a note of this.

On Saturday September 1st, 2012, I go into Firestone for them to perform the alignment and do further assessment on my vehicle. Once all was said and done, a gentleman by the name of Dave Salas advised me that your alignment it slightly off and once we get it done, this should fix your issue and prevent the tires from any further damage. He also said, because of the buckling in the tires you purchased in 2011, you may feel something coming from them but it shouldn’t be bad. When I left there, I was still experiencing the same issue. I was very frustrated and not happy that my issue had not been resolved. However due to Firestone’s commitment to customer service and wanting to make sure that I was satisfied, they not only resolved me issue but they did it at no additional cost to me. They set a standard by which others should be “MEASURED”.

When she picked it up, they charged her 500.00 and then she was unable to place it in reverse to drive it home. I called to find out what happened. They said it was coincidenatal that transmission would fail in reverse only after repairs, yet, she drove it there with no problem, they pulled it into bay for repairs with no problem but backed it out after repairs and noticed a grinding noise and made a note in report but failed to mention it to my daughter after she paid and tried to back it out. I spoke with manager on duty and he explained they did nothing to transmission and to take it to a shop for evaluation.

    1. Dear anon sir,

Is the braking system connected to the transmission? Is the alignment/suspension connected to the transmission? They notated the grind. If they were out to get your daughter, do you think they would have told you to take it to another shop so the other shop could make money while Firestone got nothing from the transmission work? Some things really are coincidental. I have seen it many times, and I have seen companies pay for these coincidences even though they were not at fault. I had a steering column completely lock up on me once, and it would not release the key. All I did was start it and try to drive it in. My company paid for that even though it was coincidental.

  22. Two days ago (12/11/2012), I took my car in for overheating. I went to a Firestone in San Antonio, they told me that I needed to have a new water pump and thermostat and new hoses. The gave me an estimate of $1100. I decided to hold off on getting services done so that I could check with a local mechanic back home (Corpus Christi), when the mechanic checked he said that everything was fine other than the distributer cap was loose from when I checked the fluids before going out of town. Not only was everything okay but Firestone had put some oily gunk on the hoses and engine to make it look as if something was really wrong. I will never go back to a Firestone again, they care more about making money than the customer or customer service. Apparently they are not trying to retain customer loyalty and seeing as how many complaints I have read the company does not have much in the way of values or integrity. I am really disappointed and like I said, neither myself or my family will ever do business with them again.

So either the service tech did not know what he was doing or they were trying to make some money either way it was shady. Had I not questioned this I would have spent $800 on bail joints that my vehicle would not have needed. Will not be going to Firestone in any city of any state again.

  26. From Indiana,
We have crooks at Firestone here too. They told me that when they changed my oil the oil pan was bent. Now who in the world needs to remove an oil pan to change the oil??? Duh! When I took my car to another mechanic to check this out, he laughed and said "NO WAY". He did check the oil pan and said that someone had taken the oil pan off and then "strippped" the bolts when they tried to put it back> Are they real mechanics at Firestone?

  27. You all are lucky! I used to work for F/B in 2000. Remember the exploding tires? I was a mechanic by trade (A.S.E. certified)and considered myself a problem solver. When these tires started exploding, I took it upon myself to find out why. I started watching all vehicles as I followed and noticed what was going on. Wondering why they mostly blew up on Ford vehicles, I inquired to Dusty Firestone (as he called himself)and got to look at some of the damaged recalls. What I found was shocking. I explained to Dusty that there were many factors contributing but that the main one was Wrong Application! At the same time I was in the commercial shop loading a loose super-single. The bar slipped and I felt a tear in my groin. After having it fixed (sic-It Never Was!), I returned to work only to have to watch a video explaining everything I had told them before. I was asked to sign a confidentiallity paper stating that I would never reveal the true nature of my knowledge. I refused! I was chastised, had over 100 hours labor taken from me, electricuted during a repair of shop equipment by Larry Hutson-manager, as a joke. I was sent on non-existent jobs and impossible repaires by one person. When I asked for help, I was treated as incompetent. There is not enough room for everything to be told here but the book "FIRESTONED!!" is almost ready for publishing. It's a complete tell all (including my fuckups) about the drinking, drugs, and lies that this company allows in order to keep the all mighty dollar comming in. Some of it I don't believe and I was there! I have nothing to hide. All I have now is Cancer and a real bad attitude. They can have both if they need to sue me for my silence. That is all I have left, thanks! It ain't happining. People need to know that if B/F treats thier employees that way, thier customers don't mean jack shit! What is your life worth? Mine was worth @$4000 and a so far 12 years of pain and suffering. Nothing to hide-Paublorocks@hotmail.com for comments! Thank GOD that they didn't make condoms or who knows how many "accidents" would have happened. Good Luck world, you know what you're up against!

  28. DISHONEST I took my car to the firestone in Lutherville, Md because it was overheating, They told me I needed Water Pump,Timing Belt Thermostat and two other belts. The total price would have been 1257.00. I told them not to do it this was on a saturday, i took the to my regular mechanic who wasn't open until monday. The only thing i needed was a Hose which firestone did not recomend and a clamp and antifreeze. The total bill plus labor was 157.00. The car has been running great since then. THEIR IS NOTHING MORE VALUABLE THAN A MECHANIC YOU CAN TRUST. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

  30. I had the displeasure of dealing with Firestone here in Abilene Texas. I purchased tires from Jim Sides at Firestone on Buffalo Gap Road here in Abilene. Sent my wife with a note so got the wrong tires, alignment I didn't ask for, air filter I didn't ask for etc,. OK I wasn't there so my fault. The next morning one of the new tires was low, no problem we are up grading to better tires so again my wife takes the car to Firestone to have the tires changed. The mechanic Lonnie was quick to inform her that the leak was from a hole in the rim not the tire. So now I go to talk to Mr. Sides about the leak in the rim. I figure solid steal with many pounds of pressure compressing an ALUMINUM rim was definitely the culprit for the leak in the rim?? To my great surprise I was told that my wife must have run in a ditch or "something" on her way home. Oh please. Someone with limited intelligence, reasoning power, or imagination would be hard pressed to believe the ditch scenario. When telling this story to my friends they burst out laughing, my intent was not to make Mr. Sides or Firestone a laughing stock but that is the way it turned out. So now, off to BBB, maybe small claims. Don't know yet. All I wanted was a used rim replacement. $75.00. Irony was I was looking for someone honest to take care of my truck, my wife's car and my son's car and I need clutch work right now. I guess greed and failure to take responsibility knocked Firestone out of lots of business from me and of course I would have to tell folks to stay away from Firestone on Buffalo Gap unless they enjoy fantasy stories as to why something went wrong and its the car owners fault, never Firestone.

  31. DISHONEST DEALINGS IN WEST SEATTLE, WA.

Dec. 22, 2012 My homestay Japanese student took her car to Firestone because she felt a motor vibration. The next day, the clerk called her on the phone and told her that he had started her car, listened to it run and that she needed a $5000 new motor or she needed to buy a new car. I went with her to discuss the issue and to pick up her car. I told the same clerk that I wanted to see the diagnostics results that he ran on the car to come up with his $5000 new motor results. He said that he didn’t run any diagnostics, but when he started the car, it was obvious that a rod was loose and banging loudly in the motor. He stated that it was very obvious to those listening that the motor was not fixable and needed replaced because of the loud knocking. I questioned him on the $5000 motor quote, and he said that a new motor runs $2500¸ and repairs would be approximately 20 hours at $125 an hour. He gave us a typed up estimate saying it had a loose rod. She then took her car to another service station for another opinion. The service manager drove the car for 2 test days and found nothing wrong with the car. My student picked up the car and has driven it almost every day since then without any motor problems. Now that she knows there is nothing wrong with the car, she feels safe in the car. The motor vibration sounds normal, and doesn’t bother her. My personal opinion is that the Firestone clerk tried to take advantage of my student's lack of knowledge regarding cars, lack of knowledge regarding mechanics, her timid personality, and her lack of fluent English. I will never be able to trust this shop ever again, and will make a point to tell others not to trust it either. I have since heard other gouging and fraud stories about this W.Seattle Courtesy Tire company. Do not use this company!

  32. I have been going to firestone for many years without any problems, until this year. I have an escalade with only 44k miles, i believe one should keep their money in their local community. i have recommended their service to my family and friends for years, what a fool for doing so. i went to see them for a routine oil change and asked them to top off all of the fluids and charge me accordingly. two hundred miles later, my vehicle started leaking some type of fluid in my garage. i wiped up a sample of the fluid and took it with me to firestone. David, the manager, tells me its not oil from the oil change its transmission fluid. (i already knew what it was) so i asked him to just check it out to be sure and tell me what it will take to fix the problem. ten minutes later he tells me my water pump is leaking and needs replacing. my owners manual states very clearly if the antifreeze is anything other than Dexcon antifreeze i would have this problem. i explained that to david and he went silent. i dropped him hints and gave him every opportunity to come clean, apologize and fix the problem. it cost me almost six hundred dollars for his mistake. i filed a complaint with the BBB and im sending a letter to their corporate HQs to see what they are going to do about it. so far, i havent heard from anyone and i assume, they will play ignorant and hope i just go away. i served 12 years in the military as a Paratrooper, they are foolish to think i will just go away. I live in Rowland Heights, California and i had to eat crow by telling all of my family and friends what an idiot i am for trusting this company. depending on their response, i will either declare war on this company and do everything i possibly can to close down this location (within the law, of course) and go door to door to every neighbor and let them know what a bunch of crooks they are or perhaps get a bunch of veterans to help with a friendly protest with a bunch of signs saying how this company likes to screw over our veterans by robbing them of their hard earned money while keeping America safe or just take more extreme measures and get on the news (after all, they think we veterans have a few screws loose) and that would be the worst kind of publicity they can have. So, i will wait to see what they have to say before i take further action, in the meantime, tell everyone you possibly can to stay away from this company, do not buy any of their products or have any of your vehicles serviced by them. THEY ARE THE WORST EXCUSE FOR A MONEY GRUBBING COMPANY, THEY SHOULD EDUCATE THEIR STORE MANAGERS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE, HONESTY, BUT MOST OF ALL HUMILITY.

I purchased firestone tires during a promotion where you get a $70.00 gas card with the purchase of 4 new tires. After a 6 month wait I contacted the company to ask when I would be expecting the card. There response was that I had made a mistake {didn't send in original copy}on the form and since the time frame to respond to the error had elapsed, I no longer qualified for the rebate. I did send in the original copy but there attitude was "too bad for you", and that was it ! I would like to pass this on to anyone who is thinking of purchasing Firestone tires, especially with an attractive rebate incentive, to think twice and go to another tire dealer who you can trust. stay away from anything to do with firestone tires !

  34. So wanted to leave my story here but after reading all the blogs I know it would be a waste of my time. KNOW this the Binghamton, NY store falls right in line with all the other dissatisfactory stores. Failing to honor Lifetime alignments, also not honoring Road Hazard by charging me for obvious factory defect(bubble on sidewall). The manager at this store is just piss-pour.

  35. Anyone residing in Selden NY area beware of the Firestone on Middle Country Road. I own a 2006 Ford Expedition. I bought it new and never had a problem. I understand 7 years later there will be items to be replace. The check engine light kept going on and every time I brought the car in I got the run-around. The technican Mark suggested using a higher grade of oil the next time I changed the oil, The technican Issac told me not to follow Mark's advice. Issac went on to tell me there was "moisture" in the motor and it was blown out and I should just bring it to the dealer because there may be a recall.

Bill, the manager would tell me the spark plugs and engine coil needs to be replaced. After 3 months and $1900 dollars later; the car still did not work. I did a google search where I typed "Ford repair shop near Selden NY." I found a repair shop called Middle Country Automotive. I was told the spark plugs were never changed and 2 engine coils have not been changed. I was under the impression the spark plugs and the engine coils were replaced.

I asked Keith of Middle Country Automotive to review all of invoices I have from Firestone. Kieth told me the coils did not need to replaced at the time of the service but would later on need to be replaced as the car aged with increase milage. However, the check engine light was on because of a "mis fire" in a spark plug. Keith told me "automotive 101 - when there is a mis fire, change the spark plugs." For the past 3 months it has been a routine for me to go to Firestone when I was off from work and complain how the check engine light is on and how poorly the car is running.

The point of this story is that the best course of action is to establish a rapport with a local repair shop and not use an automotive franchis like firestone, pep boys, auto zone, jiffy lube, etc. These types of repair shops need to "upsale" the transaction in order to make more money. Use the independant self-employed repair shop. I still ended up paying $493 to replace all of the spark plugs but the check engine light has not gone on and the car is running like it did when I first bought it.

  36. I just wanted to say how happy I am with the service I have received from the manager Tom. He has turned a bad experience into a great one. And even though my car is costing me more than I expected I am happy that he is handling my situation. After my experience on Friday I did not plan on bringing my car back to Firestone ever. I also planned on putting my bad experience on Facebook as well as blogging about my bad experience and advising my friends never to use Firestone again. Since Tom has changed my outlook on Firestone in Berkley Height I will suggest Firestone to my friends and family on Facebook as well as co-workers.

I would like to express to corporate how important good customer service is at all times and you should be glad you have a manager like Tom who knows how a customer should be treated and how important good customer service is to your business. Too many people don’t realize that for every customer your lose your company loses money and other potential customers. Please continue to stress this to all members of your management team.

  39. I will never go to Firestone again!! Their employees are rude and don't give a shit about their customers! I had a valve stem break off on my tire that came off my lawn mower, which is the same valve stem that is on my truck. The guy who in my opinion was racist against white people tells me that they don't work on lawn mower tires... A TIRE IS A TIRE!! They're all made with the same parts! I hope Firestone goes out of business because they hire rude and lazy employees, who have no business dealing with customers. The Firestone is on Shreveport-Barksdale Hwy. in Shreveport, LA. The reason I say that I think he was racist is because when I walked in, nobody was at the counter and two black girls came in behind me. He looked at me disgusted and said ill be with you in just a second. Then turns to the black girls and smiles and asks them what they needed help with all polite and shit.

This f*cker comes walking back from the test drive (with my car stranded who-knows-where) talking about my RPM is redlining....NO SH*T....you probably got onto the freeway and acted a Jack*ss with my car, AND THAT'S THE RESULTS...oh btw, according to him, It red-lined from 2nd gear...hmmm

When I told him the starting problem, he said "Oh,you can go down the street to the old Shell station, he'll take care of you there". UH WHAT? I have a Firestone account, why would I go down the street. I was in tears by the time I left the store. I go to Firestone because they are everywhere and I travel extensively. They tell their employees to be "hustlers" and get the customer to buy things they didn't even come in for. I know firsthand because my husband was working for them for two months and was sick to his stomach at the things he saw each day. He finally had enough and told the manager he couldn't take it anymore - he actually has principles and morals and couldn't take advantage of people and lie the way the rest of them did! They ought to be ashamed of running their business this way - I always though that Firestone was a well respected company with a good reputation, but now I know the truth.

  49. On April 23, 2013 I called to make an appointment to have Firestone in Covington, Washington run a diagnostic test. The Assistant Store Manager, Randy Cowett, quoted me a time frame of 45 minutes and price of $10.

We arrived a few minutes early for our appointment, checked in/left our vehicle, and went for some coffee. We returned 2 HOURS later and discovered that our vehicle was still up in the air with the tires off. So far we were okay with this as it seemed things were taking place. We were wrong. They'd only glanced at it. After speaking with the store manager, Dan Hartung, he said it'd take longer than what I was quoted, and that it'd cost nearly $100 just for them to figure out the issue. He garunteed that it'd only be "another few minutes" so we agreed. Another 2 HOURS went by and this time we waited there. Other vehicles were worked on while ours sat suspended in air and we noticed that other customers were also having similar issues - they were quoted one price and the actual amount was substantially greater.

After reading the comments above I realize what a HORRIBLE mistake I've made in trusting them with our vehicle. This company is nothing more than a conglomerate of sociopaths who are out to remove money from our pockets. It's gaurnteed that I will be posting poor reviews on every social media site and every Yelp sort of site I can find.

Then after 6 months if driving, I went to get my license plates renewed and was denied becuase thw WRONG converter was put on my car. After going back to firestone and explaining the issue, they offered to ahve it repaired and I would have to pay again. I reminded them that the repair had a 1 year warranty and I needed it fixed. Since I had moved to Redlands, Ca they said to take it there for repair but when I got to that Firestone, they said they don't do that and they wouldn't touch it. Is this how Firestone treats their customers!?! I called Santa Ana Firestone again and told him he HAD to get it repaired and I drove there and left the car with there to be fixed. 51. My son's engine blew when he was on his way home from college for a visit. We had the truck towed to the local Firestone. Daniel Stewart at Firestone Store # 543012 in Mobile, AL diagnosed that the truck needed a new engine. Since our home is in Atlanta, we started looking for reliable mechanics that could replace the engine. Daniel kept telling my husband that he could do the work for less and get it done in 2 weeks time. My husband relented, wired the guy $1600 and let him start the job. 6 1/2 months later, after harassing this man relentlessly, he finally had his dad put our vehicle on a trailer and drop it at a gas station 13 miles inside the Georgia state line. He totally deserted our vehicle and skipped out. The truck of course would not crank from sitting idle for so long and when we jumped it off it was knocking and blowing smoke. We had the truck towed to another mechanic at least in the same state and he said the engine was bad. So this guy totally stuck us for $1600, kept the vehicle for 6 1/2 months and then dropped it and bailed.

  52. I also will never use Firestone again. I started going to them at the beginning of this year for a grinding from my a/c compressor. I paid $39.99 to have them hook it to a machine plus $139 to recharge. They told me it was the VLV CORE. $230. Then as the months past, I again hear the same sound. I take it back and once again, they made me pay the $39.99, plus this time they replaced the blower motor $257.00.
Not even a week later the same sound. So I took it to someone else only to be told the compressor is bad. Called Firestone back and told them about the 2 visit before and that the compressor needs to be replaced. This wonderful manager at Firestone in Orlando where this is all taking place said ' bring it back and we won't charge you for the recharging of the system'. They will replace it for $812 and that's when I lost it.

Have a nice day manager Juan...Oops did I say his name?

    1. That is funny, because in your very first sentence when you said grinding noise, I said to myself, the bearings went bad in the compressor, and I'm just a back yard mechanic. These people will change everything before they get to the real problem, they are in the business of just making money, not to fix your car. They have mechanics, and I use that term loosely, that will go out of their way to break things.
They have been doing this for so long I think the only answer is to stay away from them and tell all of your friends and relatives about them. After my problem with them I haven't been back to them and that was over 10 years ago, good luck.

So far they wanted to visually inspect the vehicle, next morning called and they were tearing the engine apart............their offer is to repair bearings and other parts that are found damaged as needed. yet they forget the damage is done to the life of the engine, would prefer a settlement at this point. 54. I needed that all dreaded vehicle inspection and waited until the last ten days of the month, so I guess to Firestone, I looked like an easy mark to fork out some unneeded repairs. I knew my truck was going to need some engine work because the engine light had been on for a series of months. Sure enough; a near $500 bill for a fuel/air sensor replacement. That's what it needed in order to pass the emission portion of the test, so I gave the go ahead. The next bit of news turned out to be the real shocker. I was told my vehicle wouldn't pass the safety inspection due to a couple of fringed threads on a two inch length of the seatbelt strap. They quoted me a $405 repair bill. Needless to say, I kindly refused their offer to fleece my wallet. Two days later, after paying for the sensor replacement and emission certificate, I told them they'd most likely lost a customer.

On the way home, I stopped at the corner mechanic at my local service station and told them I needed a safety inspection and asked if they could fit me in. They kindly agreed and after a fifteen minute, thorough inspection, they found not a single problem. It wasn't until they tried to input it into their computer system that they saw the flagged notice about the seatbelt strap from Firestone. They mentioned it to me and checked the strap again and told me there was no reason it should not pass. I paid my 12 bucks and with an approved safety inspection certificate in hand, I was happily on my way to the DMV.

After realizing how badly I had nearly been ripped off by Firestone, I thought I'd detour from the DMV and test my luck by stopping at another garage to see what would happen if I had it checked again. It was worth another 12 dollars to find out, so I peeled the inspection sticker off the window and pulled into a reputable auto repair shop. I didn't mention a thing about the seatbelt strap, or the previous approval I had just received for the safety inspection. After another thorough inspection, once again, there was no problem. I then mentioned what I had done and they checked the seatbelt strap for themselves and shook their head in dismay. They also agreed that there was no reason it should not have passed.

I will never take my current vehicle, or any future vehicle, to Firestone.

  55. Thieves and gypsy con artists at Norridge,IL. I went in there to get a new rear Blizzak tire. They told me that I would have to buy two or they couldn't guarantee the proper wear and tear on the new tire. I never heard of such a thing. They did an oil change for me. Now, during that time two people came in. One complained to the manager that a camera was taken from the glove box just 20 minutes ago when it was being serviced. The manager called the serviceman to the counter and questioned him right in front of everybody waiting. Of course he denied taking the camera. The manager said 1) they are not responsible for items left and 2) the mechanic was a friend and he would never steal anything. The second person said that she went in for a oil and air filter change that morning. When she went to a nearby store and came out to her car, the car was dead. She looked under the hood and the battery had been changed while she was at Firestone. The manager called her a liar and she was almost in tears. She said that she never had a battery like the one that was now in her car. I took it upon myself to tell her to look by the back or the garbage and see if she could find her battery. Guess what? The battery was right around the corner, outside covered with a plastic bag. Caught dead to rights. We went back in there and he said there was no way this was her battery. She took her "found" battery and left. This all happened in the matter of 1 hour on a Saturday morning. I can only imagine the scams this shop does every day. Down right criminal.

Went to your dealer ship in Harker Heights , Tx about 9:30 to have tires I bought there rotated and aligned if needed since i have the extended warrenty and was told 3:30 which is 6 hours later and when I went back about 3:25 my truck was still parked where I had parked it and was told I was one was the next one up but an hour later still nothing and I ask for my keys back letting them know that 7 hours was more then enough time especilly since it wasted my day off. They need to either hire more compatant workers or hire more.

In 2010, I made my mustang in there shop for an oil change and they forgot to close my hood on my vehicle. I Had left without having to check it to make sure it was closed and left out Marshall field Gate onto I 70 to get back to my house. Soon as I had came to the bridges at Grandview Exit my hood on my car comes flying open and shatters my windshield and also caving in the roof of my car, in the mist of this I hit the bridge on my drivers side. After getting the car pulled over I then called firestone and the guy that answered said that if this was the red mustang we only heard one click when closing my hood and that the safety should of kept it closed. So I then called the cops and my insurance company and they my insurance company said I would be hearing form Firestone about my accident. Well 2 years later and still no words from Firestone, but the guy did get fired.

  58. I had a good experience with the store on Highway 99 in Vancouver Wa. The manager's name is Rikk Mitchell and he solved all the problems I had with my 99 Dodge 1500 pickup. He was very fair. I wold go back to them in the future with any problems.

  59. We had a horrible experience with the Firestone in Berkley Heights NJ. We were traveling with our 2 kids from Connecticut to Hershey Park when we had car trouble. We stopped at Firestone as we didn't know where else to go. They forgot to take the key to the car before we left so we had to get a ride 34 miles back to them in the morning to dropped it off. Later that day they called with an absurd estimate of $2200 for a catalytic converter. I called my mechanic at home, gave him the codes they gave us, to which he said they had NOTHING to do with what the car was doing. He then looked up on honest mechanic Valley Automotive 3 miles away from Firestone. He changed the spark plugs and gave us an oil change, and drove the car around to make sure it was better, all for $236. Firestone is awful and dishonest, luckily for us our mechanic was able to help us 2 states away.

  60. We were on our way for a family vacation from Connecticut to Hershey Park. Our car started having trouble in Berkley Heights NJ, we brought it to Firestone, because we didn't know the area and didn't know where else to go. Not only did they not care that we were stranded with out 2 kids with no car, but they forgot to take the keys so we had to get a ride 34 miles back in to drop them off. Later the next day we were called with an absurd estimate of $2200.00 for a catalytic converter and were told that they would need to order parts so it would take a couple of days. We called our mechanic back home and gave him the codes they gave us and he said they had NOTHING to do with what our car was doing. He looked up Valley Automotive for us which was 3 miles away. Guy there had our car ready about 5 hours later with new spark plugs, and an oil change for not $2200.00 but $236.34. If you are looking for a company that takes advantage of people Firestone is perfect for you, otherwise go elsewhere!

service is a disgrace and they need to go to school to learn how to treat people. After waiting
for two hours to get a new tire put on and of course balanced. $ 363.25 bill, they did not
put the spare back in the trunk and it was falling all over the back. I went back the next day
and waited another 45 minutes before anyone got to see my car and was told that I should have
waited the day before for them to put back ny spare. I WON'T GO BACK YOU CAN BE SURE OF THAT
AND I WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS AND ALL MY NEIGHBORS.

    1. There is no such thing as wrong coolant, your car will run on water. Also when these other things went bad such as the water pump the car overheats, don't you have a heat gauge or idiot light that tells you the car is to hot. You probably caused the blown head gasket by driving the car when everything else said turn it off.
I certainly would not trust my car with firestone, but you also can't blame them for something they didn't do.

We stopped at Firestone and was greeted by Sam. He check all tires, put the correct air poundage in and reset the warning light. He put our minds at ease and relieved the stress. He is truly an asset to Firestone and a genuine human being. Not only did he not ask for a thing...he pet our Labrador who was traveling with us and gave us cold bottled water for the road. WOW...there are good people in the world still.

  70. I had an extremely bad experience with the Firestone located in Bayonne, New Jersey. Each time I had taken one of my vehicles there with one issue, two weeks later there would be another issue to follow. I own a Dodge Neon 2005 which never had any issues until I started bringing to Firestone and the same with my Dodge Caliber 2010.My most recent issue was with my Dodge Caliber. I bought it in for a routine oil change and informed them that there was a squeaking noise when I breaked and some sort of rattling noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The first visit to them was 6/21/2013 and they told me I needed new brakes, rotors, and hub bearings in order to repair the noises. They also recommended a slew of other unnecessary repairs to the car. The bill came to $1,012.36. This was ,to me, astronomical!!I had the car less than a week 6/25/13, the same noise was still occurring and nothing seemed to be repaired with the car. I took it back they claimed to clean and adjust the brakes and resurface the brake rotor and brake drum. I told them I was NOT paying them for this service. They then proceeded to tell me I needed new tires which would cost 300.00. These were the cheapest tires they had Primewell. Consequently, I got another opinion on the tires and got Cooper tires (much better brand) for the same cost at another repair shop.At this point the car still continued to make a noise plus a louder squealing noise. I took it back again on 7/02/2013. They said it was the wheel cylinder and claimed they replaced it. I also refused to pay for that service. The car then made some type of whistling noise two days after that. I told them to fix the noise. They said the issue was a complete other issue regarding the brakes they just claimed to repair and it would cost me another $300.00! I was completely disgusted at this point. The noises continued to get worse and louder along with other noises beginning to surface. I took it back again on 8/23/2013. They claimed they removed and replaced the disc rotor. The other reason they did this was because I had taken my car to another garage for a second opinion only for them to tell me the rotor was defective. In turn, I relayed this to Firestone and told them I would not be paying for this. I left the shop and the noise was still there. At this point, I was so angry I bought the car to my local garage. They repaired the car and said I did not need half of the work Firestone said I did. The problem was resolved and the car no longer makes noise. The garage I went to even gave me the part they replaced. It was a simple break replacement and my garage also said that Firestone replace the side that was not even needing repair. It is amazing how I went back to Firestone this many times and the problem was never fixed and bought it to this local garage and the problem was fixed asap. Firestone in Bayonne employees take no responsibility for their actions and will only advise more unnecessary repairs in order for the customer to pay. I am very disappointed in this company and I would like something to be done about this. I will be contacting the headquarters and The Better Business Bureau to make them aware of this. I will also be alerting consumers via social networking in order for others not to have to go through the same experience as myself.
    Thank you for listening.

  71. I took my car to the Firestone off of Hwy 74 in Indian Trail, NC for a simple state inspection yesterday afternoon. After 40 minutes, I got my car back... DEAD... How the f*ck does that happen? My battery was fine when I drove it there. And now they're offering me a new battery at 50% off? Why should I have to pay for something they did? And why would I even want to purchase something from a place that messed it up in the first place? Seriously?!?!!?

  73. WOW!! Houston, Texas I should have read these reviews first before going to Firestone. SAD SAD!! I went for an oil change and was told I needed alignment tires were wearing out unevenly and they were going to explode on freeway, so I said do alignment! He said you need four new tires first so I can do it. I said I will go to Sam's (I've bought tires at SAMs for 25 years) to get my tires and come back. He said no Sams tires are not good. Then tells a young man get four tires. The young man asked why, he said to put on her car! The young man and I said, but I said I was buying my tires at Sam's. he tells the young man go, I said NO! I'm not buying tires from here.
Well I bought tires at Sams go back for an alignment and I'm told the alignment guy is not there. So I go down the road to another on I-10 Washington Avenue in Houston, Texas. OMY! I leave the car it will be 1 hour for an alignment, I walk across street for breakfast, It wasn't 10 minutes I get a call. Who told you you needed alignment, you don't need it. BUT you do need struts, and shocks. Me--How mUch? $1200 dollars he says after that I can do the alignment. Me--I thought you said I didn't need alignment. He said well you want one. UGH! I go for a second and third opinion. Get alignment at third place and they assure me my struts and shocks are perfectly fine. REALLY!! I call Firestone, give them my complaint on their stores's dishonesty. I'm waiting to Hear from the GM. Hmmmm! wonder when he's going to call.

I went in for a radiator leak. Total Cost of repair: $980.00
    - $57 for the thermostat
    - $350 for the radiator... the list of overpriced parts goes on. I tried my best to find a Dodge Durango radiator online for over $300... I couldn't even find a top brand over $250.00... where on earth did Firestone get my parts? I asked, they couldn't remember...

This on the heels of a $780.00 bill for new spark plugs, a fuel cleaning, some other services, and A/C smoke test and check for $57.00---my A/C doesn't even show up above 80 degrees. I took the car back due to the idle running up to 1200 rpm, then back down to 500 rpm, they could not tell me the problem, just nothing they had done to cause it. I researched: it was a Throttle Position Sensor, at the carburator (remember the fuel cleaning service? I replaced myself for $37.00 NEVER AGAIN.

  77. They get there parts the same place you do, Autozone or whatever other auto parts happens to be close by. The best part about that is they actually pay less for them at the auto parts than you can buy them, so now a 100 dollar radiator becomes a 350 dollar radiator, and the really best part about this whole deal is most auto parts deliver, it didn't cost them a dime to get it.
In this business it is hard to find someone you can trust, let alone know what they are doing.

  78. McKinney, TX...I just left Firestone for the third time to have my car alignment done and of course they still can't get it right. They did tell me though that part of the problem was due to my right front caliper being put on backwards/upside down. But they were nice enough to fix for free for me. As I stood waiting on my car I called the local car dealership's service department and asked them if this sounded right and they said NO. Apparently it is not possible to put a caliper on upside down because the pins wouldn't line up. They also said even if you switched the right for the left it would pinch the brake line and I would have major break problems. So they lied, they tried to sell me more parts I didn't need and my car still isn't aligned. Firestone is nothing but liars and con-artist.

But I do take issue with anyone telling stories, you need to think about your story before you print it for the world to see.
I am a back yard mechanic and I do all of my own work.
You can not put a caliper on backwards, that is true, then you said they were nice enough to fix it, which meant because you can't put it on backwards there is nothing to fix. But then you said they tried to sell you more parts, for what if they claim they already fixed it and for free.

    2. The purpose of taking your vehicle to a professional is because we are not! We have to trust mechanics no different than a Dr or a Dentist to do the right thing and not make a situation any worse, If it sounds like some stories are confusing to you and we don't know what we are talking about, than it's likely we don't. I did not go to school to be a mechanic which means you mechanics can screw us if you want. How sad for us. I bought 4 new tires, firestone, nice tires and I got in an accident I need a new drivers front tire. The mechanic said whoever sold me the tires put the wrong ones on. NOW LETS LOOK AT THAT, I went to a freaking Tire store, Firestone in Ballwin,Mo. Your right I have no clue but isn't that the reason to go to a professional. So now 2 separate mechanics said they will not put a wrong sized tire on my truck. My insurance co will only pay for 1 tire so you do the math< I called firestone and they won't do a dam thing, I don't live there anymore. Idiots. I put my trust in them to know what they were doing and I am sure these tires were what they had in stock and they sold them to someone who wouldn't know the difference and they wanted to make the sale. The sizes are on the door I just found out. HaHa I guess it's my responsibility to look at that and NOT the tire expert at The Firestone TIRE STORE. Corporate office will get a call when I am done with this. But it intrigued me that you thought we should know exactly what we are talking about when it comes to cars. We are not the pros and should be able to trust haha I guess I am a glass half full kinda gal. Probably my downfall in life and I will and have been paying for crap getting done on a vehicle that don't need it because I am trusting my mechanic!!! By the way Sandy Powers is my name

After she got the car back the car was smoming out of the exhaust, rattling, leaked oil, & was hard to turn left.
She spoke to the manager who said it was due to normal wear & tear, even though the car drove beautiful before they touched it!
She took it to Tuffy who informed her theres multiple leaks & among other issues, Firestone left a puddle in the pan & didnt change the oil causing the sediment to be pushed into the engine when changing the piston out. Tuffy tried to fix the HUGE smoke cloud that now comes out of the tail pipe at every start, but said at this point she would be better off getting a new car due to what shes already spent on this repair!
And all over asking Firestone for a oil change?!

If senior management is anything like me, they read these comments and follow up. If middle management is anything like mine, they pass along relevant information. 87. Hi,
I would like for your front office to do an undercover boss episode soon.
The reason why these people are so upset with your company is that you have too many walk ins overtaking your appointments.
About two or three years ago, I went to the Revere Mass store to get tires put on. That was about 2 or 3 pm. I was walking out with the crew when it closed for the night,
I love this store, I am glad that you finally remodeled it.
I go out of my way to make sure that these mechanics are fed.
They do not have time to eat because they are too busy to take 5 minutes to recharge themselves.
If you want Firestone to work and succeed, you need to listen and work with these mechanics. They are tired and underpaid.
My last appointment with these guys in Revere was about less than a month ago, I had to get the left bearing replaced on my ford explorer.
The company truck was a piece of shit, too make matters worse, not only was it all rusted and broken down, it stalled out on us. I was yelling at this poor guy and asking him questions on why a billion dollar tire company gives you a piece of shit truck to drive your customers around.
We took his car, little did I know that this guy doesn't get paid enough to afford a new car. It is over 15 years old and it was a mess.
I challenge anyone who even takes the time to read this post to go undercover.

    1. I am not from firestone and either they are paying you to write something like that or you are truly clueless. Now they may be under paid, and I would agree they probably are because they do not have a problem stealing, but then when someone don't have a problem stealing enough is never enough, which also means they don't have a problem lying and telling you there are things wrong with your car when there isn't.
I don't know how much you know about cars, but I do all of my own work, with the exception of inspections. So I went there for an inspection and they told me I needed new shocks, well I knew the ones on there were not that old but I said go ahead and throw some new ones on. So I started to go back and sit down and the guy behind the counter calls me back and says the mechanic wants to see me, so I go out and he shows me 5 stripped lug nuts on one wheel, little do they know, not only do I never use an air gun on my lugs but I also torque them to 100 pounds, which means they couldn't be stripped if I did it that way for 200 years. Of course I am the liar because they would never do something like that, BUT, that has been over 10 years ago and I tell that to anyone I can, so how much do you suppose I cost them in that time? Pay back is truly a beach.

  89. My name is John in Knoxville TN & I just had a coolant leak on 02 Accord& Firestone is close to me so I can drive there wit hout overheating..That was stupid of me & they had my car from 7am-6pm & was told I needed water pump & timing belts for $900..They did the work & gave me car back right before close & 2 motor mounts were broken now? They were fine when I brought it in & I was back the following morning at 7am & was told I broke them?
They did not tell me mounts were broken until I brought it back thinking timing was off because of internal noises. They had a price of $500 for mounts waiting for me & when I called Autozone, mounts were $25 ea & Autozone employee laughed at me for going to Firestone? I was treated like a idiot & fool & clueless when I tried to find out what was now wrong with car & noises it made from broken mounts & They tell me I broke the mounts? How could I when they had my car for 11 hours & they were fine before going there & now will be calling every CorporateBastard I can find online & I work for local paper & will make for good reading to anyone with a car issue in my city. & as many calls to BBB & file official complaints to have it on Public Record & wish I had a inbred hillbilly mechanic suit to wear while picketing them& see how many will join me proudly..& this is just the beginning.. I will make 100 calls a day starting tomorrow until they compensate me or sue me..I want them in court..PLEASE.
CEO of Firestone only made $12 million in 2013.. how much off of the poor suckers who bring in a vehicle out of desperation & fear? Now you know why they over charge.. got to pay the crooked CEO

  90. Subject: Hillside, Illinois Location
    To Whom It May Concern:
Only July 2, 2014 I took my truck into the Hillside location for tires and front end alignment. They ended up keeping it overnight to finish the work. I picked it up on July 3rd and it should have had a front end alignment.
On August 2, 2014 I put the truck in the shop for an unrelated problem and was told by that mechanic that that the “upper right control arm” needed replacing. When I explained that I had just had a wheel alignment that mechanic told me there was no way an alignment could have taken place and that problem was not caught. The same mechanic says that they no longer outsource to this Firestone location because of the many customer complaints they had and work that was not completed, but they charged for it.
I came home and called Hector Rivas at the Hillside Location who seem to blow this off as if this was nothing and that I needed to bring it back in, well at that point I believed that “TRUST” was gone and I could not jeopardized that happening again. But explained to Hector I would bring the truck back to again be aligned.
I had the work completed by the other mechanic and brought it back to Hector with my receipts, he was somewhat apologetic but at this point it was unacceptable to me and I was inconvenienced for an entire day. Hector looked at the receipt and showed me the readings his mechanic took as far as the first alignment (again unacceptable). I am not pleased because I expected better from a reputable dealer.
This is also a safety issue and someone needs to know that the Hillside Location is committing fraud and who knows how much. I have a credit card and everything with you, but I am truly considering finding another dealer. Please respond in writing with your thoughts. Thank you.

  91. I had an extremely bad experience with the Firestone located in Tinley Park , Illinois
My Daughter took her car to Firestone of Tinley Park. First mistake.

She brought it in for an Oil Change, New tires and a front end alignment.
In July (about 4500 miles Later) Her engine has blown up. The cause lack of OIL.
Her car was towed back to firestone, where they were waiting for it. The car was not even off the tow truck and the hood was popped open. They pulled the oil filter right away. The oil filter looked like it was 2 years old completely clasped and slugged up with oil (I have pictures) The oil filter was not even one of theirs filters.

They (firestone) filled out the claim report. I told them I wanted to be present when the claims adjustor came in. A week had gone by no word from firestone. I just happen to be driving by and seen that my daughters car had been brought into the shop. and the claims adjuster was checking out the car.
I asked why I was not made aware of this, they had no answer. When the adjustor removed the oil filter, I had noticed that the Firestone store had cleaned up the filter it looked nothing like the photos I took. I took out my photos and showed it to the adjusted. But he did not listen to me or even acknowledge that I was even there, and only believed the firestone shop. I guess since Firestone pays the claim adjustor why would they ever have a claim against them.

They say that it is a third party but DO NOT BELEIVE THEM. They do not care about the customer.

Now my daughter needs a new car. We have $700 tires with 4500 miles on them and a lifetime front end alignment program, worthless, Does anyone want to buy some tires.

    Never TRUST FIRESTONE.

  92. My experience was with Firestone in Vacaville, CA. I took my 2014 Hyundai Sonata in for an oil change on 8/2. After which it sat in my driveway till I went to work Monday morning (8/4). When I pulled out of the driveway there was an oil spot. I got home that evening and called Firestone. The Advisor (Brian) told me to bring it back in so they could take a look at it. He said it was probably just some left over oil that got spilled and needed to get cleaned up. In the mean time my boyfriend cleaned the driveway. The next morning (8/5) when I left for work there was a fresh oil spot. I was so upset that I didn't even want to talk to Firestone again. I gave them an opportunity to fix the problem and they didn't. I called the dealership where I bought my car and asked them about it. I left work early that same day to have the Service Department there take a look at it. JT put her up on the rack and we looked at the mess. It actually looked as if the car had over 100,000 miles on her with all the oil splatter. My car is less than 6 months old. JT said that there is a (special) washer that is to be replaced each time there is an oil change. Instead of replacing it Firestone re-used it. This caused me to have an oil leak. Not impressed at all with Firestone. I had to have the oil changed again. It's not the money that I'm upset about it's the quality of work from Firerstone. What should've just been handled the first time wasn't handled at all by Firestone. Yes I will contact Brian at Firestone when I've cooled off a bit. I won't allow them to work on my car again. LESSON LEARNED!!!

  93. I went to a Firestone in Missouri and had tires put on my truck. A few months go by and I go to change my breaks and can't take my tire off, my lug nuts were over toqured and stripped so I go to 2 different Firestone's and they both told me it wasn't there problem that I would have to figure it out on my own. I used to love Firestone I live by there tires but after the service I got never again will they get my money worst customer support I have ever had

  97. Hi, My name is Rita Cooper. Please help me and give me refund. I brought my car to get the air conditioning fix at Firestone on 8555 W Belleview Ave, Littleton, CO 80123 (Belleview and Wadsworth) in July. Nicholas Beck (STORE MANAGER) was helping me. I told him, my AC blowing hot air and no cold air at all. He told me that they need to fix one hose and fill the freon and charged me over $500 including the oil change. I dont need to fill the freon, I need to fix my Air Conditioning. One week later my air conditioning was out again. It's blowing hot air and no cold air at all. I came back two weeks later to get it fixed. AND GUESS WHAT, HE WANTS TO CHARGE ME over $1100.00 more and I already paid over $500. I ask for a refund because he didnt want to help me at all. He will charge me again $550 again for the labor to put the new AC Compressor. He said there is a leak in AC Compressor. They said they couldnt see it until some one has to drive it for at least 3 hrs. Why they didnt drive it the first place, because he said, they dont have time to drive around for 3 hrs. He didnt tell me this when I came there in the first place instead, he did unnecessary job and charged me about $500. I was screaming and yelling at him because I was so upset. Just because I am a female, he treated me like I am a money maker for him. He can charge me what ever he wants because I dont know anything about the car. I would like to get my money's back $500 because they didnt do what I came for. I came to fix my Air Conditioning and instead they did unnecessary job to get money for me. I always go to FIRESTONE on Simms and Ken Caryl and I never had problem. But because Belleview/Wadsworth location is close to my place now so I went there. TO THE OWNER of Firestone on Belleview and Wadsworth, Please refund my money. You need to hire a new store manager. Nicholas Beck is a liar and a thief. He stole my money, he didnt do the service I came for. He didnt even try to help. I dont have that kind of money to waste. My family were just in town and I had to drive them around in a Hot Car with No Air Conditioning because Nicholas Beck stole my money and didnt fix my air conditioning properly. Nicholas Beck ripped me off because I am a female. Please refund my money as I need it to fix my AC somewhere else. Thank you for your help.

  98. I took my 2004 Volvo s60 to Firestone on Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in Charleston, SC for an oil change and 98K service message that came on my message board, I was told that with paying $10.00 for inspection everything will be looked at and taken care of.Three days later I got a message that said low coolant. I added coolant and called Firestone and was told that they don't top off any thing but will advise if anything was low, I was not advised that my coolant was low. Today got in the car and the check engine light is on!!! What the heck is going on? Patrick signed and stamped and turned the my maintenance manual and turned the time for maintenance message off. I need resolutions and will never, ever recommend anyone to do business with Firestone!! I will seek resolution and will not pay another penny!!!!! Lesson Learned. I am Sylvia Carson. You may reach me, Frank Dorsey, Patrick or anyone in the corporate office at the information you all have in the computer.I just wonder if you all really read these complaints. smh!!!!

  100. I've always had to wait for my vehicle repair rather than leave it. I was informed today I could no longer do that. I had to leave it and it didn't matter if I came when they first opened the next day since people drop off their cars the night before. How would they know they would have to many the next day for me to wait? Funny thing is I saw 2 people waiting on their cars. The location I go (went) to has changed management. I won't go back. Apparently they don't need my business and from what I'm reading here, it's for the best.

  102. Firestone employees should be trained better before being allowed to work on anyone's vehicle. Went in to have a diagonoistics done(8-2-2014) and was told it was my distributor assembly($160.00) so I replaced it only to have the same problem so I took it back to the store in Austin, Texas and they kept my ride for 7 hours when I went to get my ride back the guy told me he could not properly diagniose it because he did not have the right tool, I took my ride to another mechanic and the problem was a $50.00 part(EGR Valve). I went to Firestone on Sunday 10-5-2014 to get a flat tire fixed(Kyle Texas) got there at 11am I waited and waited and waited finally the guy pulled my truck into a bay figured he was going to fixed my flat BUT NO he took the tire off and then walked away to pull another vehicle into another bay and proceeded to fixed that guys flat and just left my ride sitting, the other customer came in 2 hours after I had been there!!!! Needless to say it took them 3 hours to fix a flat---POOR POOR SERVICE!!!! TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES!!!!!!

  103. I worked for this horrible company for all of two weeks, shortly after quitting due to the reputation perceived with Firestone and the fact that every employee there was TERRIBLE! I was never payed nor at the least contacted for payment. I will be contacting the Department of Labor.

Recently put in for transfer and it was accepted and said to come on. Its been two days no work its the only job i have. I live pay check to paycheck like half of americans now days. The dm at the new location was a dick about things asking me personal questions and such. My manager from my old store contacted me and said that the dm here contacted them instead of me amd stated they had no room for me here. If that was the case why in the hell did theyapprove the transfer i . The first place im mad losing money the longer i sit and it had made me lose faith in the automotive industry all together. Cars are my life its what i do and i will get answers
