  1. Me and my family went to Cheddar's in Jonesboro,Ar. We arrived at 4:30 pm, it took 1.5 to be seated. As we were waiting we notice numerous of table empty. I ask staff why wasn't they using empty table, her response was they didnt have enough staff ( thats a huge problem )
After getting seated it took forever to recieve food and to get refills of drinks. To make a long story short we finally was able to get food and left at 7:45 pm. Staff was not professional, very under staffed and was very slow. If these problems do not get solved this business will not last in Jonesboro,Ar. After my experience my family will never go back to Cheddar's.
Note: after talking with co-workers and friends I have found out this was not just a bad night for me but other's have had smae result.

    4. We chose to have our 8th grade after formal dinner at Cheddars. We had over 25 13 to 14 year old students seated 3 tables over from parents. A customer chose to walk up to the children point her finger in their faces and yell at them. She claimed they were being too loud and that she was sick of it. A parent approached her and ask that she not address the children but to address with an adult. She yelled he was threatening her and ran to the Manager claiming she was being threatened and then dialed 911. We (parents) were explaining to Tulsa Police Department what actually took place. The Manager, Megan Webber requested that we along with the children be removed from Cheddars as she sat beside the complaining customer. We were told by TPD to leave the premises. Treated as criminals while the children watched and were advised to exit as well. I will never eat at Cheddars again. 8th Grade Formal night for innocent children ruined!

  2. I want to be emailed or contacted ASAP or I will call corporate office. I called in a to go order at the Jonesboro AR location as well and waited 2 HOURS on a to go order. Not to mention I had called this in on valentines day way ahead of rush! I called at 5. I got home with my food at 7:20. This alone is ridiculous!!! Then I get home and my ribs are covered in hairs. I am furious!!!!!!!!! I called the manager and he is absolutely of NO help. If I do not receive a response I will be calling corporate tomorrow. I would like this to be addressed immediately! My email is @smail.astate.edu And if I do not get a response and this manager does not get talked to I will be going to the highest of high to get this problem addressed. Apparently I am not the only person who has had AWFUL service at this location!

    1. My husband and I had dinner at the Wellington location and word cannot express my disappointment in the food, serve and manager at this location. We were seated in the bar area and the smell was stifling. It smelled like someone had gotten sick and threw up everywhere. We asked for another table and there were none available. Well with that being said we went on and ordered. Our food was not hot just luke warm. While we were eating someone in the infinite wisdom decided to mop the bar area with chlorine bleach and almost burned our eyes out and did wonders to our food and taste buds. We didn’t see our waitress until it was it was BILL time. I told her the food was terrible and she said SORRY. I paid my 24.83 plus a 3.00 dollar tip and left. However, as I walked out I asked to speak with the manager. Well after 5 minutes of waiting he came over and I told him our circumstances and he said he was unable to refund our money for which I never asked for. I told him how horrible I thought it was to mop the floor at 5:15 during dinner time and just said well there was an odor in there all day and they thought that might get rid of the odor. At that time I said well I can see this is going nowhere and he THEN said “sorry”. I was so looking forward to trying your restaurant but I have to say in all honesty I will never go back!

    2. The manager at the Wellington Location has a terrible attitude. After a long wait to get seated we headed to our car which was not there. We thought it was stolen but found out it was towed. We did not have any signs for no parking or tow away zone where we and others parked. After I paid the $153.00 fine to the towing company I finally got my car. I went to the manager there and he said too bad and did not care. 5 other customers had there cars towed also. He was so rude and would not give me any phone numbers to contact corporate. The 2 phone numbers that Texas gave me to call for district manager were disconnected. This place is horrible. I will never go back there again. This is no way to handle a complaint from a new customer ..

  3. their managers don't care about their employees if they are sick they still want them to be there and work, worl, work not even care about their health of course the answer would be leave this job and find something else right? but the work office at Austin Tx department of labor should do something about it right? where is the humanity on these guys? what about corporate do they care? I don't think so.

  4. Went to Cheddars in Jonesboro AR for the first and last time today. First we were seated right away. The wairer assigned to us spoke horrible English. We had to repeat our order to him multiple times. 45 mins later our order comes out wrong. We told the waiter ... Again he seemed to have a hard time understanding. We asked to speak to the mgr. 15 mins later the mgr comes apologizes and states they are working on our correct order. I informed the mgr that in the hour plus time we had been there we had witnessed the same waiter mess up other orders. In the end we did get our correct food. Still was not hot. Mgr didnt charge us for our visit. Jonesboro is a great area. If Cheddars does not get their act together they wont be open long!!

  5. I want to be contacted asap... I went to cheddar s in Memphis, tn with some friends for my bday on yesterday 3/4/2012 and as we entered with others there was unorganized greeters talking among their selves not acknowledging that we were there and when they did they started to seat us and just stopped to discuss if there was a server for the table being sat. After they had us go back to the front and wait, a manager named Mike Taylor comes up front looking and asked if we could step outside with him. We did not knowing the cause asking whats the problem, and he says he works with the Shelby County Sheriff Dept and holding his waist as if he had a gun asking us to leave before he get his security to escort us off because he assumed we smelled like marijuana. I didn't want any trouble and after that I had lost my appetite so we preceded to leave. I don't even smoke and it was my birthday i was really hurt all i could do was cry because that was such an embarrassment. Maybe it did smell like marijuana who knows but all i know is the lobby was full of people and it could have been anyone and that should not stop a person from being served. I came there to eat and enjoy my day but instead I was fasely accused of some I have no idea about.

  6. my husband and ate at the new Cheddars in Memphis, but when you have to dine with two security guards in the restaurant, one in the inside of the restaurant and one by the dinning area kinda made me feel like I was in jail being watched..not a good feeling when you are dinning out and you have to have security guards with guns on their hips. what was all this about? I didn't like and was not comfortable at all.

  7. Most people never write about how great the service is. I just want to say that everytime we go into the mesquite tx location we usually sit in the bar because they are busy. We always get great service but tonight I saw one of the hardest working bartenders I have seen. Although it was obvious she was training someone too she stayed on top of things and was extremely friendly. With awesome food at a great price and good service, we will continue to go to the mesquite location.

  8. i was trying to get a job at chedders Independence location and they were very much rude to me when the general manger was giving me my training schedule she looked at me kinda funny and acting like she didnt even want me working there and one of the other mangers was very rude to one i went in for training and they couldnt hiring me because of my schedule with my other job and i said oh now i need to call my ride to come get me and he said that it wasnt his problem. well i went for a interview then said that they could work with my schedule at my other job and i said ok well one of my family members got a new job so they would have to work around that to well they told me they couldnt i just thank that if you want to hire someone they need to talk to them a little more and not be rude and give people dirty looks because they have another job. in my case they did just that. i dont like their food they are very slow up there and the hostess's need to greet every customer as they come in and leave and i didnt see that when people were leaving they kinda just didnt care about the customers at all. no i do not want you to reply back but i think you should have better mangers and that location.

    3. Cheddar's on Watson Blvd in Warner Robins, Georgia has the most deceitful manager. Not only is he a liar, he is rude, and arrogant. His attitude towards a paying customer leaves me to wonder if he's new in management or purposely trying to undermine the company. The rice in my veggie and rice casarole was raw! General Manager Dennis A. Beuning, is the biggest idiot I know. He disrespected me; in front of my mother! That man acted as if it were my fault the rice was raw and that I was lucky to be seated in HIS establishment because there are absolutely none around. I am a manager myself and understand that the customer is not always correct but that the customer is always correct... His/the disrespect was in his voice with volume and words, and in his gestures with the shoulder shugs, wrist flicking, horribly audible exaggerated sighs and much more. For a second I thought I was on the old show "Candid Camera", the entire experience was surreal[ly] offensive. I have never been so insulted in my life. At no time did I ask for a refund; but I did ask for Corporate's number - he practically threw his card at me. I will tell every employee, co-worker, and customer not to dine at Cheddar's.

  9. I ate at a new Cheddars in Houston 290 - and at that time bought a $50 gift card for my daughter for Christmas. She and her husband tried to use it in San Antonio and there was no money on it. I have been to see the manager 2X and he says there is no record of it - well, of course not - I sort of think that the waitress took the money herself. Is there not anything I can do about it? I am a teacher and $50 is a lot to just throw away. I would like a reply back

if you call this number to try to reach the cheddars corporate office, you will never get through. it is not the correct number. yet more evidence that this company does not care about its customers. i work for cheddars and i can tell you that they don't care about their employees either. the REAL home office number is 214-596-6700. call this number if you have any complaints and from the look of all these comments, thats all this company gets.

    1. Thank you for this information! I didn't neccessarily want to complain on a public forum. I wanted Cheddar's to take care of the problem. It will be interesting to see what action they take when I call them on the real number. Cheddar's used to be one of my favorite restaurants. It is not anymore. Like you said, from the look of it, they have a lot of complaints.

  12. My nephew who is a responsible, sensible young man was treated so unfairly as he was humiliated by his "boss" over what was a minor misunderstanding about his work hours. This was done as he was waiting on customers. He was devastated and the customers were irate that the boss was talking to him this way. You want to know why you cannot keep good worker? It is because you hire arrogant managers who have no sense of how to treat others. To speak with anyone as if they were second class citizens and in front of customers, I want to know why this person was not fired immediately. Who wants to eat in this type of atmosphere.

  13. Went to the I-45 location in Houston/Spring, Texas. The waitress was h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e. Ordered catfish. I don't know what kind of fish we received but it was not catfish. Then to top everything off, the waitress did not give me all of my change. When I asked her about it, she replied "oh, you want your coint change". Duh, it is my money. I reported all of this to the general manager. She was apologetic but I don't know if I will ever go back to that location.

  14. Cheddars does NOT care about their employees at all, whatsoever. I've been working there for a month and i HATE it. I've been yelled at for stupid things, I've been cursed at by other employees. TERRIBLE experience here. Do NOT work at a Cheddars if you can avoid it...again i say HORRIBLE!!!!!!!

  15. What a shame, you have young people and high school students working toward college, and this may be their first job, it will certainly taint their thoughts about future jobs. The store in Cypress will not allow their workers to stop just for a snack, no lunch or any type of break, and they work five plus hours. My nephew has worked double shifts, he received no lunch break or rest break, how can they effecient or pleasant when they are so tired and hungry. Perhaps the way to curtail these actions, it to not use your money at Cheddars.

  16. Cheddars is awful. I was recently hired by them.. I am a male with facial piercings, gauged ears 00, and tattoos that are covetable by a long sleeve shirt. When I applied I spoke to an FOH and asked what the policy was for servers regarding body mods. He said since the tattoos are coved by the long sleeve uniform, they would be fine. He said for my ears I just had to wear solid color closed plugs and that I would have to remove my lip ring while at work. As for the micro dermal under my eye he said he would have to ask the GM & to come back for a second interview tomoro. I came back & had a second interview with another FOH & then another with with the server manager. Both of them said the same things about body mods. Btw when it came up in each interview I explained that at my previous employer I would cover the dermal with a small bandage and makeup. All of them responded that the decision would be up to the GM, but that he should be okay with it. I was told to come in one more time at 945am after their meeting and speak to the GM myself. When I arrived the server manager told me that the GM wasn't there but that they approved me for hire. I came to orientation dressed casual in jeans & t shirt with all my jewlery in and showing. At orientation we were given uniform requirements & told to come in uniform from here on. Long sleeve white button down dress shirt, black slacks, black non slip shoes, & solid color neck tie. None of which I possessed prior to hire. So I go to the mall n get slacks $50, shirt $55, black non slips from academy $45, a tie, black belt & black calf high socks I got from walmart all for about $30. If your asking why I didn't get pants & shirt from walmart as well to save money, well I'm 6'5" tall and Walmart doesn't carry the appropriate sizes. Anyhow so after that I go to the first day of training no prob. Second day however I was told to remove my gauges by a kitchen manager. After I explained that I was told I could wear solid ones other managers got involved (not the FOHs I spoke with) & told me Cheddars policy is no gauges or facial piercings... I ended my employment with Cheddars on the spot. I did my part in asking about policies prior to hire. Had I been told it wasn't allowed I would not have continued with the hiring process & applied elsewhere.. Instead I was wrongly informed & ended up spending over $150 to meet uniform requirements for a job that I would end up having to leave, two days into training :/ Thanks a pant load Cheddars! Pricks

  19. I ate at Cheddars in Jonesboro AR for the first and last time Tuesday night. The waitress committed credit card fraud! She helped herself to an additional $4 tip on my card after I had left her cash for her tip! When I contacted the manager about it. It was like no big deal, she said she would replace the $4 to my account but it would take several days. Oh, and the employee had been gone over the guidelines again. They don't give a crap that I was robbed and now I don't feel safe using my card anywhere. I want my whole meal reimbursed. There was no I'm sorry or anything!

  23. I was in the cheddars in Norman, OK. While I was eating dinner, I had a couple of issues. But the manager there, heather, was a tremendous help. Courteous, polite, and very sweet. However, not long after I saw her being yelled at by another manager. I have been a restaurant manager for many years. I can tell she is a smart, capable woman. This other manager I would never hire. Not even as a busboy. He was rude, vulgar, and inappropriate. I asked my server his name and she wasn't sure if it was Thomas or John. I've been going there for awhile now. But I will not be returning if he continues to be employed.

That seemed like discrimination to me. we ordered our food at that time and the waiter was extremely rude and it took the waiter 30 minutes to get our order. When he brought our order he did not bring our correct order he brought hamburger without our fries and the crescents we had ordered we asked to see the manager we waited 20 minutes and no one ever showed , we just paid our bill and left. That was the worst experience ever.

    2. I was at the Chedders in Murfreesboro that recently opened. We were eating out with my son and grandchildren and celebrating their Christmas. The waiter dropped the tray with 6 glasses of tea on 3 people that were soaked. I had received a purse for Christmas that cost over $300.00 that was soaked. When the waiter came back he had a few papertowels. We had to go to the bathroom and strip down some of our under clothes. I visit Chedders and had bragged to my son how great it was. No one seem to be concerned that we were covered with sweet tea. I may have second thoughts about visiting a Chedders again. We were not offered to comp our bill of 71.00. The manager did give me her card and said to have everything cleaned and she would turn in to insurance. We should have been put at another table, but we were in everyones way trying to clean up the mess. This is a large town, and customer service will go a long way.

  25. Our team went for lunch at Cheddars at 620 University Center Boulevard Charlotte, NC 28262 on June 8th, 2012. I ordered Salad. I was halfway thru eating and I saw FLY in there.yukkkk..UGGGGGHHHH...I about to throw up. IT WAS THE HALF OF FLY and I am sure someone else got the other half. Anyhow, we told our waiter and she sends the supervisor there. He said he will take 50% of my meal... Come one you are feeding me a FLY in the food and you are only giving me 50% off. so we asked to speak to the Manager. He was very RUDE. He did not want to give us 50% off. He was like 25% off. We're WTH? what kind of customer service is this? It was nice of me not to scream there and be loud. They could have lost their business. It could have been in the news and all around the place. then somehow Manager agrees to take off full meal price. when we walked out Manager had attitudes. He was very unpleasant and rude. I was not mad for the FLY. I got mad at thier customer service. Do not you want to take care of customer and BE nice so they can come back. Guess what:- I am employee of Well Fargo and we got the headquarters here so most of us go there to eat and I send out email to everyone. They are not going to eat there anymore. I am also going to let the Healh Department to notify.

    1. I, too, had a salad issue recently at the recently opened Cheddars in Evansville, IN. I ordered the chicken pecan salad. We (my escort and I) had to wait a bit for our order, but I was not disturbed by this as our Cheddars is always busy and our two previous visits had been pleasant. However upon receiving my salad and beginning to eat it I noticed a lettuce core in the very middle after I had taken only a few bites. I've worked in restaurants many times and thought it was a simple mistake, so I just took it out and set it to the side. Then I noticed something white underneath it. Thinking that maybe a piece of paper had found its way into my salad I moved more lettuce aside and saw arolled bit of plastic. Catching it with the time of my fork I proceded to pull out a large, plastic glove of the type you wear (if you are following clealiness rules) to serve food. A used one. I did not scream, yell or cause a fuss, even when it took me several minutes to get the attention of staff. When we finally got a waitress from another area to come to our table, she apologized and said she would send over a manager. A managert did come to our table and offer to comp my salad. I suggested I received another salad also, as I had not eaten even half of that one and that I receive the salad "to go" as we were at that point short on time. The manager seemed to agree. We waited several minutes for a fresh salad, which was expected because of the grilled chicken breast on top. At the point when my second salad was brought to the table and we were ready to leave my lunchdate informed me that the salad WAS NOT COMPED since I received a second one to go. We asked out regular waitress and she had not even been informed of any problem and we were refused the comp on the salad. Disappointed now we prepared to leave, only to discover a very wet spill on the floor just 2 steps from out table that was not being seen to. My date was a handicapped Navy vet, and I was afraid he would fall. We did manage to exit the restaurant with help from a very nice staff member who held the door, but the entire lunch experience was tainted for us. I'm not sure we will ever return to Cheddars in spite of the excellent (usually) food and generous portions. If you have any questions regarding this incident, you may reach me at cheryl.anne@rocketmail.com

  32. Chedders opened a new restaurant in Avon Indiana. It has been open for maybe 2 months now. The food is wonderful BUT the service is awful. Took and hour to sit down then it took another hour to order. Plenty of staff hanging around in a hall by the kitchen admiring each others manicures.(was seated at table next to the hall) Our waitress was a mess. She was upset by the kitchen not doing their job right. After an hour she left and someone else was assigned to our table. When we did get our food we got it one person at a time so we didn't eat together. First food out waited but their food was getting cold so we told them to go ahead and eat. We received our appetizers after everyone was done eating their main meal. The manager never showed his or her face, they hid in the kitchen. I thought it was the managements fault but by reading these other post about other Chedders around the U.S. maybe it is the corporate office that needs to be fired.

  33. Today, July 31, 2012 I took my three grandchildren to the Cheddars Cypress, TX #540 for lunch. This is only the second time I have been to this Chedders. We were greeted very nicely and seated within the 10 minutes estimated. It took another 10 minutes for a waitress to visit our table. We ordered two kids meals and two adult meals. The one child's meal was delivered with frenc fries instead of green beans as ordered. The soup for omitted for one of the two adult meals and the waitress and second waiter had to be asked 3 additional times before the soup was brought (after the main course). On adult was drinking raspberry iced tea, which was good, until the refill was deliverd however thye gave Mango not raspberry flavored tea. When the two children ordered Root Beer to drink nothing was said. When the adult drinks were broug we were informed they had no root beer so the kids had Dr. Pepper instead. It was difficult to know who our waitress / waiter was as two different servers kept showing up at the table and any request had to me made the second time. The person listed on the receipt as the server was Dusty P and the manager was Stephen Payne. The food was good but it appears the staff needs a lot more training.

She had charged one of my friends 3 meals on her debit card. Our appetizer came out with our food, so that was hardly even touched. When we talked to the manager about it, the waitress was very rude and kept trying to say snotty things. As we left we got no smile or thank you, she about ran one of my friends over to get to the table and clean it. It was just a horrible experience and i feel bad that my friends dinner had to be ruined by a snobby waitress that couldn't do her job correctly or even apologize.

  36. We just finished eating at the new location in Lafayette, LA.

First of all the hostess have a bad attitude. We asked about sitting in the bar and she said we could only sit at the tables not the booths. Many people were waiting to sit in the restaurant but 5 booths remained empty in the bar while we were eating. While we were eating people coming into the bar sat at the tables and ordered drinks while waiting for a table in the main restaurant. Are the booths in the bar reserved for certain people? Our 1st server put in our appetizer and entree order had the same time. Our 2nd server said he was taking over and order would be coming out. We received our appetizer and 2 min. later we received our entree. I had to wait about 10 min. later before I received my drink (raspberry tea). Then a 3rd waiter said he was taking over. The only time we saw him was for our bill. We asked him if we could speak to a manager and he said he would get the manager. We never did see the manager. Although the food was good, the experience was horrible.

This was the first and the last time I ever eat at a Cheddar's Restaurant!

  37. Most horrible experience I have ever encountered. I visited the Cheddars in Overland Park,KS around 9 p.m. on Sunday August 19 2012. My server Jaime kept forgetting things over ten times, hair in food, im allergic to tomatoes and the server still brought food out with tomatoes, food without sauce on keywest chicken, ordered grilled fish and was brought catfish. Ordered Childs meal I wanted chicken tenders and greenbeans, was given french fries instead of green beans, server kept forgetting drinks. Told manager about horrible service, some so called manager walks out with a dirty apron and chefs hat on whom claims their the manager oncall for that night. Really i'm expecting a well dressed individual to come out not a dirty looking cook. My bill still wasnt adjusted. I was still charged for my whole entire meal. Once I made it home checked my bank account the following day. I was charged for my meal $33.45 and also for $37.94. Hello, where did this extra charge come from. The service was flat out horrible. I would never reffer anyone go to this resteraunt. Issue still hasnt been resolved as to getting my money back. Will not visit that particular Cheddars again due to poor service and nothing was fixed to make the dinning experience better. The server should resign from her position and Cheddars should find more professional people to operate a resteraunt.

  38. On August 19th, a couple of my friendgirls and myself went to the Cheddars on Winchester Road, Memphis, TN. My 1st visit to Cheddars was in Beaumont, TX and the service and food was wonderful. The entire atmosphere here at Cheddars was ABSOLUTELY horrible. THe only thing that was not too bad was the wait time. The food and service were pitiful. I ordered grilled fish and was told 30 minutes later that they were out of fish. I asked for the manager, Dion, and he asked me what kind of fish I ordered. I told him from the beginning what kind and what the problem was. I asked for a percentage to be taken off of my check and he flat out refused to accomodate me. He said they don't accomodate for situations where the restaurant is out of something. One of my friends had ordered the New Orleans pasta and she never rec'd her food. It finally came 35 minutes after everyone was done eating their meal. My other friend ordered a salad was to get a croissant that came with it. She did not get here croissant and once again we asked for the manager. By this time, he was very perturbed with us. He said we would have to wait on the croissants and that they were only about .30 since my friend no longer wanted here salad without the croissant. I will definitely be talking with the corporate office as I see Cheddars has had alot of complaints.

  39. Have to admit this has been one of the worst experiances that I have had in over 20 yrs. Poor service over and hour and a half and walked out the door. Lincoln Ne. Cheddars has to be the worst place to eat in Lincoln and the only explanation was the cooking staff was overwhelmed and that the general manager was fired a few weeks befor. Seems to me that you at corporate would like to have better reputation than the one that is now going around Lincoln.
Lousy service, dirty restrooms, and staff that just dosen't give a hoot what customers think. I know if anyone asks me about Cheddars I'll tell them to go to any other place in town. They just don't really want to have your business.

  40. To whom it may concern:

I am writing to inform you guys of the terrible service experience at your 21001 Gulf Freeway location in Webster, Texas my friends and received. Absolutely appalling! After being seated at a table that had not been bussed properly, my friends and I waited for about five minutes for our server (who’s name was never given), to be greeted with unfriendly, “What can I get y’all?” We then ordered drinks and appetizers that were not brought to us until over 25 minutes later! When my “frozen” drink came out clearly melted I inquired about how it should look and was told that they simply come that way. Having eaten at Cheddar’s before I knew this was simply not the case, but offered no further rebut. 15 – 20 minutes after giving the server our order, he then returned to our table to ask specifics about it which clearly indicated he had not submitted the order at all. Finally, after receiving our food over and hour later, five minutes into the meal, and individual appearing to be the manager on duty, in a brisk walk by (never really stopping), asked if everything at our table was okay? I replied and repeated, “Service is horrible!” He then returned to our table with chuckle and in very cocky manger leaned upon the fixtures beside him and said, “What you want; what else y’all need?” I simply replied, “Nothing.” We were completely outdone. We decided to NEVER step foot in that place again. Being in the wait-staff, we understand that its normal to get busy sometimes, but blatant rudeness with no apology is certainly uncalled for. Just thought you guys might like to know the type of people that are representing you company!

  41. We ate at the Cheddar's Lafayette Cafe Saturday.

We arrived at 7:30 pm and there was a 45min wait but that is not the bad part. When we finally got seated, we had to wait 20 min to put in a drink order after waiting another 20 min the waitress says you know why you didn't get you order it's because we ran out so we had to choose somthing else and had to wait again to recieve them we finally got our food at 10:30 pm it was cold, the steak we ordered well done was brought out rare, and oh yeah the appetizers we ordered with the drinks never came and when asked to speak to a manager after waiting the manager never came and it took a long time to get to go plates now the steak was taken off of the ticket but no one aplogized yes they asked if i wanted something else but would i have to wait another hour to get it people were waiting long for everything this is the worst experience i ever had and very unorganized

  43. My boyfriend had to quit his job at Cheddars in Beckley WV because his gay manager's sexual inappropriate actions toward him and he is too uncomfortable to go back. Not to mention his manager is involved in illegal drugs and supports the use of them among other workers in the restaurant. It's a real shame that this type of person is allowed to keep their job. I'm planning to encourage my boyfriend to file an official complaint with the company, as if that will do any good. Word of mouth in this small community will do enough, though.

This location just let go half there staff plus lines out the door not knowing all the empty tables and the reason why. The manager came to our table and was rude not helpful and told a waiter that he needed to make sure he took care of the regulars that come in over the other employee's service her name Anderea and our waiter was so moody when we came in she was already complaining because this one guy was training another waiter and she says I helped him out and he's just standing around and when she needed assistance she couldn't get the help from him. We where there 30 before we recieved our food and 15 min before we got refills. I hope corporate takes note of the type of service that was given to us and to all those that waited to be seated
This is a new location and you would figure that would have been on there toes

  47. My family decided to dine together after church. My brother and his wife arrived several minutes before I arrived with my mother and my family. When we arrived, my mother informed Michael the " General Manager" that we had a party waiting for us. Michael told my mother to go in the dining area and locate the waiting party ( Strike One). Excellent customer service would require him or another employee to escort us to our table. When we arrived at the table/ booth, the server asked 5 adults and 5 children to squeeze into a booth which could comfortably seat 6 adults without children ( Strike Two). When we requested a bigger table or booth, the server insisted that we could not have anything larger. My brother suggested that the table located behind the table where we were sitting was in fact intended for our party as it had been empty. The server became defensive, refused to offer a positive solution, stormed away to inform Michael. After she left, my mother, my daughter and I sat in the empty booth behind us. A few minutes later, Michael verbally accosted me by asking in both a condescending and demeaning tone, " Who told you to sit here!" (Strike Three) I told him that we seated ourselves because we were uncomfortable sitting in the booth with my brother and his family. He raised his voice (Strike Four) and told us that would have to get up and wait for another seat. At that point, I decided that I could not support your business as I have never experienced such horrible customer service from not only my sever but also from management which is unacceptable.

Michael attempted to explain to my brother and his wife that once they decided to sit down the restaurant was no longer reserving seats for me and my family. His explanation was a blatant display of dishonesty for two reasons. 1. He did not explain the policy, if in fact it is a policy, to my brother and his wife before they were seated. 2. If Michael were truly abiding by the policy, when we arrived at the restaurant, he would not have asked my mother to find my brother in the restaurant because he would have known that there would not be a place for us to sit.
Finally, as we were leaving, I told Michael that he is the rudest and the most unprofessional restaurant manager that I have ever encountered. He asked me to explain how he was rude, even as I attempted to explain he continued to interrupt me as I was speaking. He is the worst example of customer service that I have ever experienced. Furthermore, unlike most managers, he was willing to allow me and my family to leave your establishment dissatisfied without offering a form of compromise. Clearly he does not appreciate customers.
This was my first visit to Cheddars and because of Michael's actions, it will probably be my only visit.

  49. Cheddar's is nothing short of a frikkin' sweat shop. I should have known better when during orientation, the district manager "James", this little weasel of a man told the crowd-"I started here as a dishwasher. I walked around helping other workers who thanked me for helping. What they didn't know is I was trying to STEAL THEIR JOB!"

He went on to basically tell us that the only way to move up in Cheddar's is to be selfish and a backstabber.

There's a reason why no one in the kitchen wears a nametag. They don't want employees getting to know each other, because if they started getting friendly, they might complain about the fact they get no breaks whatsoever. Not a single break......NEVER.

Really sad business model. I will never eat at a Cheddars after what I went through.....

  51. I had the worst experience that I've had at a restaurant last night at Cheddars. Cheddars used to be one of my favorite places to eat because the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. After last night I will not be returning. I went there with my mouth all ready for my food. I ordered the same thing that I do everytime I go. I ordered the chicken tenders with the broccoli rice casserole and the southern green beans. After waiting on my very slow waitress for about 45 minutes after the order was put in, the food finally came out...well part of it did. I was missing the broccoli casserole. That's probably the main part of the meal that I wanted. The guy that brought the food out wasn't the waiter but I told him what i was missing so he could tell the waitress. Ten minutes later the waitress came back to the table with bbq sauce for my tenders but still no casserole. She said in such a nonchalant, round-about way, "Oh, we're out. You'll have to wait about 30-45 minutes for some more to come up." At this point i'm so upset...my husband, who's halfway done with his meal by that time, sees how upset i am and calls for the manager. She comes to the table like she doesn't want to be there and when my husband begins to explain to her what the issue is and asks her to discount the ticket she stops him and tells him she can offer him another side item but the ticket will not be discounted. She then offers me some steamed broccoli or some broccoli with queso on it...HELLO that's not the same thing! I told her that I didn't want another side dish and i also told her that I didn't feel like I should have to pay full price for part of my meal. I told her I should have been informed that they were out of what I had ordered and either offered something else from the beginning or let me change my order. She goes on to tell me that if i read the menu i would know that everything is made from scratch...I informed her that whether it's made from scratch or not you know when you're getting low on something so make more from scratch. She then tells me whether I get another side item or not my ticket will not be discounted. I told her to send the waitress back with the ticket because by that time i was LIVID! The waitress comes back to the table with the ticket in hand and tells me that the manager did discount the ticket. When my husband looks at the ticket, no discount had been applied. The waitress said she was going to send the manager back to the table but I told her not to send that woman back to my table. The waitress comes back and tells me that the manager said that she wasn't going to discount the ticket and we could either pay it or she was going to call the cops. I told never said anything about not paying the ticket...that was never my point. I just felt like it should have been discounted. My husband gave the money to the waitress and I sent the other gentleman that was helping her to get me the corporate number, the name of the general manager, the district manager and the name of the manager that was on duty that evening. He came back with the information I asked for and when i called the number he gave me i found out that that was the wrong number. Just as he handed me the paper with the numbers on it, I look up and two officers are walking towards my table. The manager had called the cops and told them we refused to pay the ticket not knowing that my husband had already cashed the ticket out and we were getting ready to leave. I was humiliated!!! I have contacted corporate and I do hope that they can rectify the issue. I have also contacted my attorney. I guess it's safe to say that I will never set foot in another Cheddars again!!!!

  52. I work at Cheddars in Odessa and they are sooo unprofessional. One employee shows up hung over, still drunk, or late all the time. She is ALWAYS high and sometimes she takes breaks to go smoke in her car. She starts all kinds of drama between other workers and they refuse to fire her. Who can I talk to?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I will be contacting an attorney AND the local news channel for the treatment of myself and the poor waitress that the OWNER FIRED in front of me, told her to cry elsewhere when she started crying, got in MY face and caused a major scene just because I unknowingly ordered takeout and didnt dine in which I guess in his world is an offense worthy of beheading, caning, or public beating. The owner was very aggressive with me, got in my face, and raised his voice to me after I had already ordered and paid for my meal. I am a new client to the Cheddars chain and WAS telling everyone about it. That owner needs to go back to the Middle East where he's from because this is America and you do NOT treat customers or employees like that! I also heard he fired a brand new waiter last week for having one table complain about him. This was the waiters first job and the owner fired him just like he fired that poor waitress today for simply taking my order. I will NEVER eat at ANY Cheddars again and will be taking my complaint to a whole new level. I know a lot of locals and local news people who just love stories like this, this owner may own the restaurant but he is an embarrassment to the Cheddars name. I have never been treated like this by anyone, and to think he is the OWNER?? Shame on corporate for not keeping a closer eye on who represents the Cheddars name. The food is good but not worth all the upset everyone experienced today because of this middle eastern tyrant of a man who owns the Wellington Florida Cheddars which has only been open for TWO WEEKS. Who gets in a new customers face like that and yells at them for not knowing it wasnt a place you could order takeout from? There were no signs, nobody told me, I had walked in and ordered food for myself and my fiance and just wanted my food!He wasnt going to give me my food that I had already paid for because Cheddars doesnt do takeout! Seriously??

  54. We too recently ate at a Boardman, Ohio Cheddars. Hostess was very friendly but thats where it ended...waitress was either overwhelmed or didnt care, questions about menu were incorrect, which caused me to order wrong;food took forever, then came out cold and wrong! Drinks were never refilled, plates never removed, etc... had to wave my hands in the air for a diff server to get dessert, which they were out of and our waitress substituted WITHOUT asking us, so not only didnt I get to eat dinner but no dessert either. Used restroom and cook was standing in dining rm after his shift greeting night staff with 'whats up, mother fu@#$rs!'..was almost $50. bill and still tipped, Did survey, GM called & sounded sympathetic saying he's send gift card so we could try for better experience-against our better judgement, we agreed. Rcvd a photocopied gray/white $10 gift cert w/a standard letter today..was like a slap in the face!! I TOTALLY agree with the news media being informed so NO other customer is treated so callously! Wasnt just us either-EVERY person in our area looked disgusted with dirty plates on their tables & empty glasses...disgusting!

  56. My husband, daughter and I went to the Cheddar's in Mesquite,TX on Friday night. When my husband gave the hostess his name to be put on the list, he made it clear to her that he wanted a table and not a booth. My husband is a heavy set man and sitting in a booth is very uncomfortable for him. We waited 15 minutes and when the hostess came to get us to be seated she took us to a booth. My husband told her he asked for a table for a reason. She offered to put a chair on the outer part of the booth, but my husband refused because it was just in the way for the people passing by. So she brought it to the managers attention and he told her to put us back on the waiting list. I asked her how long did we have to wait and she said she didn't know. Another 15 minutes go by and what do you know, we just practically waited just so that we could be given another booth. We saw a party of "1" seated at a table and then another party that was there after we arrived got seated at another table. One of the hostesses told the girl that was seating us that we asked for a table and someone gave our table away. So we went ahead and left. We lost 30 minutes of our time to the lack of communication of the hostesses there. We walked out and you would think the manager would try and make it right. Nope, didn't even try to stop us on the way out. This just makes me think if the service for waiting on a table is that crappy should I expect the same type of service if we actually go there again and eat? After we left my husband called and asked to speak with the manager. The only thing he told my husband was he spoke with the hostesses and what did he expect him to do. This is not the type of customer service one should encounter on their first visit. Very bad first impression!

  58. So yesterday, my boyfrind and I dinned at Cheddars in San Angelo, Tx. It was a horrible. It was freezing when we entered (ok no big deal). We were seated quickly. Our waiter was nice. I started thinking this was gonna be a nice meal. As we were seated my boyfriend (who USE TO work here but quit after dealing with bad management and theft problems) informed me that we were seated in the "new guys" area. Okay so Ill be patient with the new guy. problem. However, after we placed our order for our appetizer it took a while to get the onion rings and his salad. FINALLY when we did get it, our waiter still had not given us our utensils. When we finally got those, our onion rings were cold... I thought "okay this doesnt mean the rest will be bad". When we odered our main course, I asked the waiter what kind of cheese came on the mushroom burger. He told me he wasnt sure but that he would go ask the cook. INSTEAD of asking the cooks he went to a fellow waiter not far from us and asked him. Then the two proceeded to guess at what kind of cheese come on it. After several minutes of the two guessing, our waiter finally said he would just go ask the cooks...When he FINALLY returned he stoppped to talk to the same waiter. Again not far from our table. When they finally finshed talking we were able to order. After placing our order our food came quickly. I was half way through my burger when I happened to look down before I took a bite, and something was on my pickle. I pulled out a short, coarse, curly black hair...(it wasnt mine nor my boyfrineds because we both have blonde hair). That made us lose our appetite. When our waiter came back my boyfriend told him he was doing a good job but that we would like to speak with his manager. After waiting 10-15 mins she walks up scowling. My boyfrined proceed to politely tell her about the hair and showed it to her. He said it looked as though it could be a black mans hair or something. She then argued with us about who the hair belonged to, telling us the only black guy there had white hiar...Um ok well then it looked like that or a freaking PUBIC hair....She continued to argue with us and said there wasnt a whole lot she could do about it. But that she would take the dish off our reciet. She then walked away without ever even apologizing once for the hair.
My complaint is not on the waiter himself, but on his training, his supervision, and the manager who "addressed" our problem. I refuse to go back to this location even though its the only one we have. THEY ARENT WORTH IT....

  59. We live in Texas Home of the Chicken fried Steak. I visit Cheddars regular however the Mesquite location has different issues different days. Sometimes it's the Service, some days it's the food. I rarely eat the chicken fried steak however for the first time in a long time Friday I and my friend ordered it. It came out greasy and a pre breaded patty, both our steaks was totally flat oval smooth and exactly the same size and details, before I tasted it I knew, however I did take a bite and it tasted like crap! Lol... This is not Sonic which would have been better! How can they show a photo of a great chicken fried steak and serve this crap? I don't know if management took the real steaks home and replaced them with this dime store steak or they have change this item at all the locations! Also the week before friends and I went and the Comp. was down. The first thing the waitress said was " are you sure you want to eat here today our Comp. are down and it may take a while. Lol... Duh well yes I am already setting here also I make a long out of town drive to go there! How would that slow anything down, Do they not know how to do it the old fashioned way before Comp.? Lol.... We got the food steaks cooked wrong and food cold. Now pray tell me how is that the fault of computers? I have taken them many New costumers however never again! Find another location and who knows they may be all the same now! Cheddars has gone to the Dogs! What a waste of a nice place! Linda

  61. I ordered Take out in Huntsville , Alabama. The food was cold, & horrible. We spent 65.03 on 4 orders of 12 oz steak dinners. When my son arrived to pick them up it was only 3. He had to wait on the other one. One of the take out boxes had a hole in it. The rest looked nasty. I called to ask for a manager, the young lady Felicia said it wasn't a manager available. I asked for a supervisor and kept getting the runaround. So I called on my house phone same thang. That took 30 minutes or more, so one of my sons ate his meal. By the time I finally spoke to a manager he wanted me to bring the food back. Ok it's 30 minutes before closing & I'm really pissed. This wasn't the first time. They didn't even had the sides right. I read the order 4x to the girl who took our order. I'll . Management is also sorry. I'm still gonna call corporate and also let everyone else know about the service. 64. We go to the Cheddar's in Omaha, Ne. It is usually one of our favorite places to eat. We went a couple of nights ago. The food was cold. As the waitress came up to take plates I pulled out not one, but two hairs from the butter croissants right as she was standing there. She then proceeded to ask if she could take away some plates. I told her I just pulled two hairs out of the croissants. She said that's fine. That's fine!? She said she would talk to the manager, and he would take them off for us. The manager didn't come over and apologize, and because we didn't raise a big stink about it, the waitress acted like it was no big deal. I'm sorry, but that is disgusting. I can't believe we received that poor of service.

  65. Carolyn Croft, Wellington, FlFebruary 18, 2013 at 9:53 PM

I ate at the Cheddar's in Wellington Fl on Sunday, February 17, 2012 and it was so crowed due to the Presidents Day Holiday and "season" the parking lot was full, so I, along with many, many others parked next door in the overflow lot. (I had done this on another occasion when I ate there previously.) There were people waiting outside the main doors and in the entryway and there was about a 40 minute wait for our meal. The food was ok, there wasn't that much meat on my meal, but it was tender. The hostess was nice, but the problem began when I left. My car was gone. I thought it was stolen, but when I came back in the restaurant to call someone and tell him what happened and call the police, I saw a small piece of paper on the door that said to be careful about parking next door or you may get towed. Of course, no one warned me or the many other patrons when we entered the restaurant and put our names on the list, as of course, we would have left to go eat at another restaurant. Since the restaurant was so crowed with people when I came in, the sign was obscured by the many people in front of it, and there was only one small do not park sign next door, which I didn't see because I had parked my toyota next to a large truck. Every single car in the lot next door was a patron of Cheddars, as the other establishments were all closed, and all of the cars were towed. It cost me $154.00 to get my car that night. I had to call someone to come get me and my two grandchildren, and wait out late on a Sunday night, and of course it is not in the best part of town. When I told the manager, he said he would try to take care of me the next day and to call him. He also said it had been going on all night. I told him the sign obviously wasn't working and why wasn't he warning people? (Can you say kick back???)As I waited for someone to come get me to get my car, I saw more cars being towed!! When I tried to call him back today, he was not available three times when I called, so I went back in personally to speak to him and he told me it was my problem and he couldn't help me. When I asked him who I could contact in order to get my money refunded, he said,"I don't care if you contact President Obama I am not giving you your money back." This is Richard, the GM of the Wellington, FL store. At this point, I quit being nice, and became quite irritated, as I felt that this was uncalled for. I told him that I felt it was his fault for not verbally informing all of the customers as they arrived about the risk of parking next door, as he already was aware of all of the customers who had their cars towed and this was not something that had happened on previous visits so I was not expecting it. Of course he just asked me to leave and let him "run his business." I will make it my business to let all of the facebook community in Wellington NOT TO EAT AT THE WELLINGTON CHEDDARS UNTIL I GET MY MONEY!!!I won't be letting him run his business until I get my money back. This will be VERY, VERY, BAD for his business. I can tell you nobody likes a manager who treats his cutomers like this. He is giving Cheddars a BAD NAME!!!

  69. I worked at the cheddars in Joplin No. I am 50 years old and have been in food for 35 years.. I have never seen such a disorganized filthy mess.. The F word is like hello. The manager Kelly cusses her team members. That is the most disgustingly dirty kitchen ever. The employees eat of the customers plates before they take the food out. The employees grope each other men and women. The manager dresses like a homeless person. I had a debate with Renetta and mysteriously
The next day my tire is slashe's $181.00 to replace.. Then a week later a debate with a girl named Tara and my car gets keyed the same night... Horrible management. Filthy kitchen, waste of my time cost me more to with there for three weeks than I made...

  70. Fayetteville N.C. I wrote to them about the experience, never got a response. Went there with a friend for lunch, around 1:30 on a Saturday. We sat at the high tops in the bar area. After 10 minutes with no one speaking to us we asked a server that was passing by if we could get some help. She was polite and told us that she was not our server, and pointed out the lady that was. Our server was at one of the booths in the bar. While we sat we noticed a man sitting at the next table. We struck up small talk, he told us he had been there for 15 minutes, and no one had spoken to him either. We tried getting the attention of our server and were ignored. The man at the next table finally just got up and left. At the 20 minute mark we decided to leave as well.

Keep in mind there were two other servers working in that area, and even though we were not their table you would have though one of them could have let someone know we were being ignored. Could have offered to get us some water, something. The bartender was just 10 feet away and didnt notice, or didnt care that we were being ignored. She was not swamped. She was standing at the end of the bar chatting most of the time. All the time our server was hanging out at one booth with her back to us.

On leaving I asked to speak to the manager. He was up at the front. When I let him know were leaving without being served and why, He was polite, and asked what table we were sitting at. I showed him, and I could see he was really frustrated. He asked if there was anything he could do. I said no and thanked him for asking. My friend and I left and weny to Ruby Tuesdays, and had a great lunch.

Just something to think about, the man that left, my friend and I are all of the same skin color. Our server is of a different skin color. I would hate to think that was the reason we were being ignored. If it was, you have a real issue that you had better get fixed. This was my first experience in a Cheddars, and lets just say it fell way short of enjoyable.

  72. I just visited Cheddars in Memphis, TN. The service was horrible and I was not greeted by the bartender at all when I sat down. I was ordering togo and it took nearly an hour for me to get my food! No one apologized, no manager was sent over, NOTHING! The entire staff there is rude. And when I got my food it was cold and the fries were stale. Is there anyone I can contact about this experience?

  73. My friend and I ate at the Cheddars in Jackson, TN and we have never been treated so rudely by management in our lives. The manager, Ruch Weaver is very unprofessional. We each ordered the rib and chicken tender combo. Well we ask our waitress could we send the ribs back and get additional chicken tenders instead of ribs. After a slight weight Mr. Weaver came to our table with much attitude. He preceded to quote the policy that Cheddars has for returning food and stated "if the food is prepared properly we would still be responsible for paying our check. He insinuated that we were trying to get out of paying. We had no issue paying, we just could not eat the dry, tasteless ribs that we were served. He then looked at me and said half of your ribs are gone and you should know after a bite or two if you like them! I told him if he looked close he would see they are picked over. Maybe they were going to recycle them! And the Cheddars Corporate Number is not working! Go figure!

  74. This place is horrible! I have been there now 2 times at the Mishawaka, IN location, and both times the food was horrible. The first time the servers were bad AND food was horrible. This time our waitress was wonderful, but the food was bad. I even wrote and complained about the experience almost 3 weeks ago, and I still have not had anyone contacting me concerning the complaint. Would never recommend this place, at least the Mishawaka, IN location to ANYONE!

  76. post by Ken. My wife and I went to dinner tonight. She was tired from a long flight and we just wanted a comfortable dinner, near the house. We went to the Cheddars on Greenville, in Dallas. Service was terrible. The waiter was obviously stressed (or incompetent). After waiting at least ten minutes without getting service we left. We ended up nearby at Outback where we had a nice dinner. BTW, the tab for us at Outback was about $50 and tipped $9........plus we had a trainee as a server. She was still excellent. We will not go back to Cheddars.

  77. My family and I went to Cheddars on University in Little Rock Arkansas for Mother's Day(5/12/13) it was the worst service! We knew there would be a wait due to it being Mother's Day, which we didn't mind. We told the hostess that we could sit in booths if that would help. We checked with the hostess after 1 1/2 hours and she said our area was ready but the waiter had to leave to take another employee home due to them being ill. We knew the employee that was ill and the waiter was gone for over 1 hour and our area had been ready for quite sometime but they wouldn't set us until she returned. We were finally seated after 2 hours...(arrived at 3:15 pm and got seated at 5:32 pm). They did put us in booths but they put us side by side they spread us out, and the whole area was empty, until other people started coming in they put them around us. We placed our order and it just got worse from there!!! I guess since we were in booths the kitchen wasn't told we were all together so they would bring food for a booth and about 5 - 8 minutes later they would bring another booth, we were in four booths so needless to say by the time the 3rd booth received their food the first booth was finished....and by the time the fourth booth received their food all of the other booths were finished and had their leftovers in to-go boxes. At two tables 2 childern never received their food and at the last table one of the mothers never received their food! We did talk to the manager about the service and he said due to it being Mother's Day they were really over worked and the kitchen could not keep up. OK I have worked in the Restaurant business waiting tables and during the holidays like Mother's Day we made sure everything ran smoothly! I have never written a complant about any restaurant before but I just want people to know NEVER GO TO CHEDDARS!!!!!!!! The Mother that didn't get her food had McDonald's...that was better than the service at Cheddars.
