  1. I would just like to tell you about a experience that I had with a Cadillac dealership in Alexandria,VA. I own a 2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum. I have owned this vehicle for about 3 years and always had it serviced at the above dealer, My certified warranty was active up until March 2011, the entire time I would recieve service they would perform only the service I asked and would check on complaints that I had noticed IE noise in front end, they would always come back and say it was because of the tires that were installed was not stock and it was causing the issues, my argument was that the tires and rims were purchased and installed by them, they did not have answer! A month after my warrenty was expired I had some issues with the air bag light was on and so I took it to the dealer and they stated no problem we will call you when it was ready for pickup, 8 hours later I get a call from the service rep and he starts his conversation as How long do I plan on keeping this vehicle because it has many issues, and I stated whats wrong, he started by saying they found shaving in transmission, rear end seal bad,
front diff has major issues, I was in aw, then he said my air filter was filthy and I stated to him that I just put a new one in two days a go, he went silent for about 5 seconds and then quickly said its not dirty, its missing! wow! then he went on by telling me my oil needs replacing and also my brake fluid was contaminated, I just recently had to do an emergency repair to my emergency brakes, so I had a local garage repair my emergency brakes and also drain brake fluid and replace with new, and also full oil service. when I told the service rep That I just had the brake fluid replaced he then told me he was going out to the garage and see for himself and he would call me back, about half an hour later he called back and said the brake fluid bottle was dirty on the outside and the mechaanic made a mistake. I then asked why they were doing all these checks on my car and they stated it was a 121 point inspection, free of charge and I asked how often they do this, they stated whenever the car comes in for service,WOW! My car has never had this service when it was under warranty, but now they check when it is expired. I went to pick up truck that day to find no air filter in my vehicle, I could not beleive it. the total for the repairs he mentioned was a total of $6000.00 its funny because just six months earlier it was, in their eyes in perfect condition. This vehicle is kind of famous because it was owned by (THE ROCK) Dwayne Johnson and I plan on holding on to this Truck for at least one more year and the plan was to sell out right and buy a new Escalade, But WOW! I Have been working in the service industry for a long time and I just cant beleive what they attempted to do and what they have done! steve.nagle@verizon.net

    1. Hi,

My 2007 Cadillac STS has been found to have Shaving in the transmission also. Can I ask you if the Corporate Office was able to help you with the finance of any of the cost? Mine is costing me $4000.00 just to fix the transmission.

      Thank you

  2. I bought a 2005 CTS from Cadillac of Las Vegas on Sahara. My first financed Car. The Finance guy Norman Garcia never told me he took off the 3yr paid oil changes when I was getting financed, that makes a huge difference in the purchase price. He knew I would of not purchased the vehicle if I was told that information. I spoke to his manager Ryan Hardy Finance Director and he told me that I bought the vehicle and there is nothing He can do about it now. I found out a month after I purchased my vehicle and told the manager about it. The only reason why I found out that I don't get oil changes, was when I went to get an oil change and they tried to charge me and I told them that this was included when I purchased the vehicle. I got lied to and I feel that they really screwed me over, I would of not purchased the vehicle at the price I got it without the oil changes because oil changes add up real fast. I did the math and with the oil changes the purchase price worked for me. The manager of Cadillac just shun me away

  4. I am hoping this does not fall on deaf ears. 2 years ago I purchased a 2002 cadillac from a dealership in bloomington mn. The cost ended up being approx 8500 for the car. From day one there were huge issues. I took it back right away for them to tell me they put the wrong grade of gas in. So they changed it. I took home and few cdays later I had to have the same issues. So I took it back again for them to tell me it was something simple. So they did something and sent me on my way. I took home and a few days later I was back there. They finally did a check and found it had tranny issues and they had to pay to fix. They had my car for several weeks and engine completely apart and back together and apart again. Now correct me if I'm wrong but why wouldn't u check out other issues? Oh yeah because they would have to pay for it and lo and behold they suppodedly check all this before car goes on a lot. But anyway back to car. So now I get car back and have a few weeks end up running out of gas. Totally my fault. Get gas in car and it will not start. Take to dealer to tell. Me bad fuel pump. So now is where I start paying. And only a few weeks after purchase. And I'm paying to this day. In 5 months I spent over 8000 in my own pocket repairs on top of paying off the car note. My car spent about 4 out of its first 6 months being fixed. Tranny pumps shafts engines oil doors windows. Lights. You name it. I fight thru and pay it all and finally car is good. For a few months. Then smaller repairs are needed. Pay for these an move on. So now car has been good for a few months except going back and forth for tire pressure issues.which is one thing that has been there since day one. But now they took car that's running wonderfully and do routine oil change. Tell me needs tranny flush and two new tires and two new filters. I let em know newer tranny and lol few miles. Oh opps ok yeah see that now. Tire and air filters I can understand. But can't today. Leave from there onl a few days later having to return car because change oil screaming at me. And then overheating? So have to have towed back and toldd head gaskets out and need replacement. Uhm ok how much? Approx 5k. I'm stuck because they only give 1kin trade for car. Not in financial position to take on new car with car payment or used car with car repairs. So I'm stuck. Giving a little history I am a single mother raising my son myself. My income is it. I was blessed with a few years of good money at job which allowed me to pay my sons first two years of college. And this car was to be. His graduation gift. He didn't get because I personally fell in love with car despite my many needed repairs. I can't explain it but I did. But now income cut in half and not as easy to handle this. In addition the car had approx 95k when got it and now approx 118k in miles and its been just over two years since got car. I had a friend who had same car and found out same repairs right around the same mileages etc. I didn't know her til after I purchased this car. Then dealership keeps saying you gotta have cadi money to purchase a cadi. Uhm they were not saying this when I was purchasing car. I do believe they saw some of the other issues when car was apart but didn't. Say anything because they would have to pay. But I'm also upset with cadi for making such a poor car with a high quality name. So now I'm stuck. No car not enough money and no real help. What do you do? Does anyone care anymore?

  6. I purchased a 2011 SRX and I love the car except I have had to replace two of the wheels at over $600 each at the dealer. They told me I hit something. Well now all three other wheels including the two I bought have pieces missing and they look like they are peeling. The Cadillace garage says it is my fault. These wheels are defective. Be sure you check out the fancy wheels before you buy a cadillac. I can't believe I spent over $50,000 for a cadillace and these expensive wheels are shit.

  7. In 2010 purchased a 2006 cadillac CTS at the time the vehicle had only 13,000 miles. then 2 years later I only put another 7,000 miles on this vehicle and now it won't go into reverse. Brought the vehicle to Jim Falk Motors and they told me that it was the shift assembly that needed to be changed and it was going to cost over $1,800 to fix. I then bring the vehicle in to fix and they are unable to fix this because first of all they don't have a company that manufatures this part. The second issue is that I think Cadillac should pay for this as it appears to be a fault in the part itself after reading numerous complaint on the internet about the issue I'm having. I then call Cadillac customer assurance. That's a joke because I spoke to a representative named Cynthia who related they are still unable to find the part and that they might find a company to manufacture the part howerver she could not give me a timeline as to when this was going to be available, then when I asked for other options as to the monthly payment that I am currently making on a vehicle that is not working and also to either have them pay this vehicle off or make the monthly payment until the vehicle is fixed, Cynthia told me there is nothing Cadillac could do for me. I then asked her for the number of her supervisor so I could speak with someone else she said she was the highest in her position and that if I wanted to speak to someone higher I would need to obtain that phone number on my own. Some kind of Customer service!. I would like to speak to a Cadillac representative who will be able to give me options as the vehicle I currently have is unable to be fixed because Cadillac currently DOES NOT have a manufacture for the part to a vehicle that is only 6 years old. I am fustrated and upset that Cadillac is not taking care of their customers.

the power steering pump, a week later had the rack & pinion steering, car still steers rough, so is the pickup when accelerate, I hate this auto.

  10. I have one comment Cadillac thinks it’s a luxury car maker but in essence it is not. Bought a 2012 CTS V for 72K the first Cadillac I have every owned. Was driving this vehicle in a heavy downpour with the streets having standing water. The engine guard which is held on with plastic bolts that are not screwed in but pushed in failed and the guard falls and drags on the street until I can get it over to the side. Take it to the dealership which informs me that it’s my fault that the guard came off because I was driving in the rain and that the water on street caused the bolts to fail which is not a part failure but road hazard. I insist it was the failure of the plastic bolts, and that I expect to be able to drive in rain without parts falling off. In all the last twenty years of buying cars never had a part fall off in the rain. My experience with Lexus and Infiniti is much different, bought cars and SUV’s from them with always Great customer service. I had a plastic part of the body of a Lexus LX 450 come off in a car wash, they did not try to blame it on the car wash, but was told that it was their problem because the vehicle was designed to not have that happen even though a car wash was involved. The total cost of the plastic bolts for the Cadillac 3.75 each there are 11 of them, you would think that even if it turned out to be my fault that in the spirit of good customer service they would replace them, but that was not the case….again if you want a luxury car or SUV stick with companies that invented it, Lexus, Infiniti. Cadillac is just an extension of Chevrolet, matter of fact the dealership that I took the car to be repaired was a Cadillac, Chevy, Mazda dealership…you would never find Lexus selling cars off a Toyota dealership lot

  12. My son lost his keys to his cadillac. He had his car towed to Cadillac of Sarasota on Bee Ridge Road. While his car was there they noticed that his airbag light was on for the passanger airbag. They told him they would fix this $700.oo problem for free. He didn't care one way or the other that the light was on but took them up on their generous offer. So they fixed the airbag light and made a new key and programed it for the car. He drove the car home and when he tried to start the car again it wouldn,t start. It didn't make a sound. The battery was fine. He couldn't get the keys out of the ignition. I suggested he push the car while I tried to turn it on. It may have been a fluke but it actually worked. That night he went out and had the same problem. This time an anti theft light came on and all the doors locked. Once again the keys wouldn't come out. He asked someone to help him push the car while he tried to start it but it didn't work. He had to walk 7 1/2 mile home at 3:00 inn the morning. He had to leave his car with the keys in it. The next day we called Cadillac and told them the situation and asked them to please get the car and find out why he was having this problem. We suggested that the new key may be the cause. They agreed to get the car and said that if the problem was not the key we would have to pay for the tow. We agreed knowing that the key must be the problem. His car was running fine before they made this new key. They picked up the car and called us saying that it was not the key. They said there was a glitch in the main computer board and that it would cost $900.00 plus dollars to fix. I told my son that was BS and not to pay for it. There was NO PROBLEM with the car before he had the key made and the airbag light fixed. If there is a problem now it was due to something they did. My son talked to them and they offered to cut the price to $750.00. I called them and tried to be nice at first. I wanted to talk to their GM. They said he was in a meeting but he would return my call. I waited several hours and called again. I was informed that he left for the day and wouldn't be back until Friday. (I called on Monday) Needless to say, I was no longer nice. I spoke with the service manager and he agreed to fix the car for free. Later that day he called my son and said the computer board was not the problem. They were trying to figure it out. The car has been there almost a week now. All of this over a new key. I'm sure they would have been happy to take the $900 some thing dollars for a computer board that was not really broken and the car would still not be fixed (since it's something else). Hopefully they will fix the car quickly and get him his car back. I think they tried to take advantage of him because he is young. They probably thought he had rich parents who would drop the money for their son. Well that's not going to happen.

  13. Bought a pre-owned certified 2010 SRX from Crest in Nashville. It has been nothing but problems. The dealership kept the vehicle for 3 weeks and as soon we get it back the check engine light comes on again. I really think we made a big mistake buying the car. The service department at our dealership is horrible. They don't return your phone calls.

  14. I purchased a 2008 new Cadillac CTS and had a water leak from the sun roof. I assumed it was an isolated issue and decided to trade up to a newer model. I purchased a 2009 new Cadillac CTS in 2009 with 14 test drive miles on the odometer. My car is still under hte manufacture warranty and has 40k miles. I have had NOTHING but issues with this car. The sun roof leaks and there was a broken weld on the frame in the trunk. The complete interior carpet and padding have been replaced due to mold and water damage. The navigation system shows an error every time it rains that the electronic key is not detected and the navigation screen is blank while the radio is playing with no display. These issues occured after the sunroof leaked and caused major damage to the electronic system. I have taken my car a minimum of twice a month to the local Cadillac shop and shown them pictures and videos of the issues I am experiencing. The "mechanics" state they are unable to duplicate the issue and can not determine the cause. The electronic module has been replaced twice and the remote keys have been replaced twice still my car is unable to detect them after it rains. The interior head liner has been replaced completely three times. THIS CAR IS A LEMON and I can not get anyone at Cadillac or GM corporate office to help me. I would like to know how to address this as a LEMON LAW?

  15. well i also have a 2008 DTS . They told me the fuel pump was out still under warrenty charged me for it. then the car still does it brought it back. They say nothing is wrong with it. i drove my self to the ford dealership. Had enough of cadilac and there scams. well just so happend the ford mechanic was outside the shop and was familir with the car. he asked me if i checked the fuse box under the back seat the car has a common issue with the fuel pump relay burning up the socket and it sounds like i didnt have enough fuel. . sure enough i open the seat this gm relay is burnt to shit. now cadilac is telling me i just go buy another part and replace it. well its crazy there techs couldnt find this and a ford guy knew what was going on when i pulled up just hearing it run. cadilac should pay for there design flaws. 3 of the same car 08-09-09 DTS trunks leak and the fuel pump relays r burning up sockets. I TRIED 3 DIFF CARS. So now im selling my cadilacs and buying me another good ole ford. i will repair the last car sell it and use the money to get an attorney to help resolve this for me. just that one car was over $750 in so cal warranty repairs .

  16. I have a 2003 cts that is still under a purchased warranty. The key was stuck in the ignition, would not start and would not shift out of park.I had it towed to a Cadillac dealer ship. the tech called me and stated that it needed to be put on a machine to diagnose the problem this would cost me 100.00 that is not covered by the warranty. was recontacted after being put on this machine and was told it was the ECM so this part was changed. after paying my deductible and the other cost i pick the car up. got it home and the next day the car did the same thing that i wrote above. had it towed back to Cadillac. and was told it had to be put on another machine that was different from the first, for two hours and this would cost me double. when i asked the tech why it had to be put on a machine to diagnose a problem that i already payed for to be diagnosed, I could not get a straight answer, why was the ECM changed and the car is still doing the same thing that they were payed to repair, no straight answer. when i kept pressing and the tech stated that the first test checked the battery, alternator and starter.(then what told you the ECM was bad) and this other test would check everything . then he started to tell me about the transmission could be causing this, when i told him i never heard of a trans stopping a car from starting he went silent. when i told him maybe the anti-theft system my be malfunctioning causing everything to lock he didnt want to hear it. Has anyone ever heard of a 2hr diagnostic test that cost 200.00. Starting to feel like I'm at the alley mechanic not Cadillac.

  17. I was contacted by an employee of Cadillac to give her a call regarding my 2012 SRX, who informed me that they were interested in buying out my lease early as I have a model that was in shortage on their lot and in high demand. She informed me that the car would need an inspection, but if I was up on my payments that I would be able to walk out of it with no cost to me. I brought the car in to be inspected. It passed inspection with flying colors and with only 18,000 miles on it, is in ‘excellent’ condition. At this point, I again inquired about being able to turn over the lease to them with no cost to me, and again was reassured. I found a new car (not a Cadillac) within 3 days and returned to Penske Cadillac to hand over my car that they so “desperately needed”. This is where it all turned ugly--I was promptly informed since I was not going to get into a new Cadillac lease with them that I owed them over $2000 (however if I got a Cadillac I would owe 0)! This is a fraudulent BAIT AND SWITCH operation that took a week out of my life!!! I was NEVER informed that the only way NOT to incur penalties was to lease ANOTHER Cadillac, I was only informed that I would be doing them a favor by giving them my ‘in demand’ vehicle for their needs in such good condition and with such low mileage. It would be good for Cadillac to understand that there is an extension of everything they are trying to represent and uphold out there basically being demeaned and undermined. Damaging the reputation of something I once held in the highest esteem. They are diminishing the brand name into nothing better than a used car salesman attribute. I researched the value of my car (trade in value, NOT private seller) and found out that the dealer came in WAY under what would be only “poor” condition. (Mine is in excellent condition!) This is blatantly a SCAM of large proportion, and has made me extremely angry. I can only hope that this is just indicative of this particular dealership and not the brand itself. If the dealership were worth its weight at all, they would have understood that I called them on their scam and scrambled to make it right (not to mention it would have given them what they claimed to want in the first place which was my car with low mileage in great condition on their used car lot!)! (Apart from that though, I will say that EVERYONE I ever dealt with in the service department was wonderful, helpful and professional!!! This seems to be indicative simply of the dealers trying to scam you into spending more $$ and making you think they are doing you a favor!)

  20. I own a 2010 SRX Turbo, it has been in the shop no less than 15 times in three years for the same problems. Low oil level alarm, low oil pressure alarm, rear end alarm, engine light warning. All but one occasion they have said they could not find anything. They replaced sensor in oil pan once. Still get the alarms / warnings.Had to replace clock/radio/nav. system, had to replace bushing in steering wheel, had to repair back door handle, had to replace seat belt. Waiting on Parker Cadillac (Litle Rock, AR) Serv. Mgr to call me. Sent email to Rick and David Parker, (VP's) asking for help. No reply. Working through Cadillac Customer Service, apparently they can not get the service manger to call me. Have filed service issues with Cadillac Customer Service twice now. Still have same problems. Is this what you now expect from a $55,000 vehicle???? Does anybody really care at Cadillac, since car is paid for???

  23. CITY CADILLAC THE WORST MAY 31ST 2014 I'M writing to inform the cadillac buying public of an experiene i had by taking my car to a cadillac dealership oppose to taking it to a neighbohood mechanic. Thinking that i would got perfessional services from their qualified techinicans on may 21st 2014 i was preparing for a trip for my birthday i took my car to CITY CADILLAC IN LONG ISLAND CITY in N.Y.C because i had my car checked previously so i was able to explain what the problem was;my number five coil was misfiring and my engine light was on this was the service i required the rep had the techinican that worked on my car to come to me so i could explain the problem even after i clearly told him what the problem was he informed me that in order for cadillac to guarntee the work they would have to do a full dianogistics on the car this would have showed them everything that was wrong with my car.Now only one coil was misfiring in my car so i allowed him to do the full diagonistics and to fix my car, after leaving my car with them for an entire day i contacted them prior to them closing they told me i can come and pick up the car.Happy thinking that everything was good with the car so i could take my trip they charged me over fifthteen hundred dollars not believing that much was wrong but i paid them in good faith the engine light was out so i assumed that everything was fine went home and park the car and started it up 2hrs later the engine light wa back on.my complaint is John the perfessional technican did not fix my car he just sold me a bunch of cadillac parts. He assumed that the buying public are idiots or just fools, he use the device that reads the codes but it also it knocks out the engine light siginal also they gave me my car as if they had fixed it so i contacted them they told me to bring the car back but it took several attempts because the tech JOHN was'nt there i feel that the tech sabatage my car to create more problems my last visit to city cadillac John the tech informed me that my cadillac converter had gas in it and handed me a 4.000 bill he destroyed my two thousand five STS CADILLAC within days of taking my car to the dealership my car had stop working completely had to get it towed back to my house to afraid to take it back to the tech that i know destroyed it in speaking with my attorney he told me to put in a complaint to the cooperate office my purpose is to inform the cadillac buying public that CITY CADILLAC OF NYC is not a place you want to do business. you pay to have your car fix, but they fix your car where you have to keep bringing it back to pay even more i paid them the money and 4 days later my car stop running burnt out completely i don't know what the problem is at this point now i'm out of a car at the best time of this year.I never thought that a company as prestiges as cadillac would allow this kind of customer abuse and robbery in destroying something as valuble as someones car in which i never had any major problems with until i took it to city cadillac this is how it should have happen when i went to pick up my car if there were any other problems i should have been informed at that time i picked up the car because the full diagnostic was performed so he should have known if there was any other problem.i paid them fiftheen hundred to sabataged my car in order for them to get another 4000 im very disappointed in the way that they do business im a very disgruntel pissoff, angry customer...................................Whurley57@yahoo.com

  24. Your newest Cadillac Escalade ad is offensive. You can do better.

I dislike seeing people saluting that weird looking Eqyptian prince, or whoever he is. He's got lots of mascara and eyeliner on. Why would that appeal to a Cadillac owner?

In addition, I hate seeing the elephant paraded around. Everyone knows that elephants are abused in order to be trained. In particular, temple elephants, like this one with the heavy jewelry around the feet, are well known to be abused in the hot sun.

This ad should be pulled. I can't see how anyone would be enticed to purchase what should be an upscale car, appealing to normal upscale Americans and their families.

  25. If anyone out their feels they have had any auto repairs that were not fair, nessasary, or that they may have been taken advantage of, you can take your complaint to the Bureau Of Automotive Repair! They have helped me out twice with the same dealership and they got me my money back!
A word to the wise, be sure to document all problems you have in a diary for each business that is not fair! Make sure you include the date, time of the incident, who you spoke to and what was said, also include any purtinant information and documents, etc. This way you will be able to provide this information and have an exact record of occurances for a law suit, the bureau I mentioned above and also for future refferance for what ever you may need it for!
Let us all remember the power of the internet and the power of reviews, let others know of your issues with these bad and good companies, so the bad company can go out of business and the honest good company can live on to stay in business!
I wish you all the best and yes there are people out here who can, like I do and others, as we all do not like it when any business is unfair or act criminal and try to steal by falsifying information to steal money they have no right having! Let us all work together to get rid of these bad businesses, by fighting back legally as I have stated here! This could have been you or I that this could have happened to!!!.. God Bless You All!!!...
