I so agree with you..I am trying to make a payment to these fools and im the only one they will take it from..i live 2 hrs away round trip and they wont work with me..call my phone every day if not more and are very rude..this company is the sorriest for customer service i have ever seen..i know alot of people that wont do business with them cause of that...

    2. Well we must all be in cohoots with one another. I went in to this place around Christmas time. They practically through the loan in my hands giving me the max of 2500. according to what the guy who explain the terms to me described my first two payments of 274 would be interest only--ok this was fine. He then stated that after i make by first payment that it would gradually get lower--ok tell me why i have made 5 payements--401, 400, 398, 396 and i am about to make the next but why was i made to think that my first payment would be lower than the 274? on top of that when i asked for a payment breakdown, they guy told me that they dont like to show the payments because they can vary each month according to what you put down outside of your normal payment-- ok at the time it made sense but now i see that they are full of it. Now they are coming to my job--my payment was due on the 30th today is the 2nd and my son went to the er on the 30th. i have proof-- when i called them to see why Ebony was at my job, i always get Melinda and she is sooo very nasty-- if they did not have the loan to my truck i would let them have it. But i am about to contact a lawyer because she came to my job like she was my friend!! security even told me that --OMG it is taking everything in me to not let them have a real piece of my mind

My problem with TitleMax is the incessant phone calls -- I am up extremely early in the mornings and call, leave messages but these messages are ignored -- I knew going in the interest would be high and the loan would be expensive -- Now, they do use Bill Matrix, making payments easier, but I cannot always make the payment on time as I am self-employed (ministry) -- They call me like I am 3 months behind when only a day or so -- This is terribly rude in my opinion -- I have been with Titlemax for over a year now and cannot see any improvement or appreciation for their custoenmrs

Wish these guys would just quit with the incessant phone calls -- I have been with Titlemax for over a year and if I am one day late I get call after call after call -- I leave messages on their machine (as I am an early riser) and these seem to be ignored -- I feel these guys should show a bit more customer appreciation -- If I am a week late they treat me like I am 3 months overdue -- Very aggravating --

    5. I completely agree. I totalled my car out just a week after getting loan. They dicked around and did not get back with my insurance company and in the end charged me an additional 350.00 worth of interest and took out of my pocket on my settlement. Bullshit and I am highly pissed. They will be getting a letter from me for sure. We need to petition to them something fierce. They suck bad!!!!!!!!!!!

    7. Paid title off May 23,2013 and it is June 18, 2013 still have not received a title as of date. They wouldn't like it if they payments were about a month late for them. They should have to pay interest at their rate to us because we have paid the loan off and they were the last ones with the title. Keep getting run a round when I call.

    8. I made my payment on the 4th of june 2013 and they sent a repo man to my house on the 11th of june at 6:15 am in the morning and tried to take my suv. When I showed him the payment form from the office, he called the general manager of the store in florence alabama and told her he can't take that one because I had kept my paper. So he said to her, hurry pick out another one for me to get before everyone of them wake up. We need three car today. So now I am ready for them. come on back. You will get the suv. But, I will get you. bring it.

    11. I am starting a class action suit; TItlemax seems to think that their contract supersedes Illinois Law when it states (and we all sign) that no one can sue them for anything. Are you all with me? I have gone through all the phone calls, as have my references, and very rude behavior. But the kicker is when they actually repo'd my car - UNLAWFULLY, an employee perjured herself to the police when I reported the car stolen. I did this because when I called FOUR days after repo, she couldn't tell me where my car was and maybe she could get back to me later with that info. Um... NO; I had to consider it stolen. As soon as the cops called her, she told them exactly where it was (within a turnaround time of about five minutes), then told the cops that she called me with information the prior Saturday on where my car was. I have phone records to prove that she never ever called me that day. In addition, they never sent me the required THREE-DAY Notice of Redemption letter outlining my rights after repossession and how to redeem my car, as well as my right to a hearing on why I was late with payments. During this time, they cannot sell your car, put it up for auction, or anything of the kind. Therefore, under Illinois Law, they committed an "unlawful repossession."

    12. Anonymous, I agree with you 110%! I'm in a situation now where they have repossessed my vehicle for being 50 days late on a payment. I made all my previous payments on time. they wouldn't even take a partial payment which I think is ridiculous if someone is trying to pay their loan off/down!!! I have been praying for a miracle but it looks like I wont be able to come up with the funds. They didn't even want to work with me regarding payment arrangements. I will NEVER deal with them again. I was desperate and it was a foolish thing to do!

I call them to tell them that my payment is either "in the mail" or "being mailed" they call you back, leave you a message to call them in 5-10 minutes...of course if your at work or dont' get the message they call your references and bother them. I will never deal with them again either. And as soon as this last payment is gone through and my title is in my hands, corporate is gonna get a letter from me.

    14. I see a couple posts about being 3 or 5 days late and they repossess, they cannot repossess with out the proper notification to you in writing and giving you time to correct the default. If they are doing this then yes a class action lawsuit needs to be filed agianst them.

I missed 2 payments due to health reasons I call and told them I would pay my bill on June 1st they told me that was fine I get up on June 1st to find they repossessed my car my loan was $400 now I have to pay $1000 to get my car back I don't recommend anyone to get a loan through title max total ripped off

  5. I have actually paid off my loan, and I still can't get anyone to call me. I paid off my title in January, and have yet to receive my title. Will NEVER use Titlemax again!!

    3. My husband paid off the title to my car aug 2012 it is now jan 2013 and we still don't have the title. We call daily to see if the title had been released and all we get is the same answer that the DMV is backed up and there is nothing she can do about it and she will let us know when it is in This is the LAST time I will ever use title max, and I will never refer them to anyone. The people that work in the office are rude, and don't know what they are doing.

    2. well I could care less about there commercial, but these people are not worth doing business with. The interest rate is 158%. I borrowed 700 from them and I still owe 671.00. They are only putting 35.00 towards my payments. I recommend no one do business with these people. U will be paying your title loan for a long time. They say put extra money on the bill. If I had extra money like that I would not have borrowed the money in the first place.

  7. I have paid off my loan with them and kept calling on the status on the delivery of my title. I cant seem to get anyone give me a straight answer. Bottom line i haven't got my title yet and it's been over a month now. Customer service is bad and employees are rude!!! Do not use this company ... really bad business ethics!!!!

  8. My mother took out a loan and she is 79. She had two heart attacks due to the methods and threats from this company. At this point I am considering a lawsuit against them for causing her illness by threatening to take her 93 Cadillac for being late in payments totaling $200. They refuse to work with her. They give her deadlines that she can't make instead of allowing for the time she can catch up. When she fails to make their deadlines, they say it was broken committment. I believe a mexican drug cartel may be funding this company. They do not have professional edicot. They come across like loan sharks.

  13. Wow - I should have checked out this site before I got the loan. I've fallen behind on my payments - so I thought I would take them whatever i could get together (Which was $50). When i went into the office - I told the lady that i was behind and I just wanted to put $50 on my account for now, and that i would be back in by the end of the week again to put money on my account to pay down my loan. SHE FREAKED OUT!!! "Oh No - she told me: We can't accept anything but your minimum payment". She basically threw me out of their Claycomo MO Office and told me to come back when i have a full payment. REALLY - REALLY???? I would think that's illegal not take a payment for an account. That the CATCH 22' - And the Interest goes up and up and up and up... I'm going to speak with their corporate office. Next step - I'll be contacting the Attorney General's office of MO and I'll also contact a lawyer... THIS FEELS LIKE AND SMELLS LIKE CORRUPTION...

Had a bad accident in my car and can not dipsose of car till i i get title back, mu local office keeps telling me that they are working with corporate and to make a deal with me. I do not get any letters by mail nor a return call. called corperate to be put in a que and told by automated voice my wait time is less than one minute. I have been holding for 17 minutes! I believe that these people hold you off so they can get a judgment against you.

My fiance took a title loan out on my truck three years ago.How he was legally aloud to do this without my signature or permission I don't know.Seeing as how my name is listed on the title as well.If that is'nt wrong enough I've called to see about getting it paid off and am told they can't tell me anything cause my name is not on the account.Helloooooo my name is on the title therefore I'm on the account!!

  17. I got off work and what was awaiting me on my windshield? it was one of your stupid stupid fking fliers melted onto my windshield from being in sun all day. Since the local dumb aholes at the titlemax store located at 1873 cobb pkwy marietta ga 30067 is next door to my office building, I immediatley drove there and tol manager he would be cleaning my winsheild or we would be having some issues. Someone from your company should train your staff to not screw around with a persons vehicle. But what else would be expected from a company that preys on the poor, stupid and desperate?
    My windsheild was cleaned but if it happens again, someone is in for a boot in there ass, be it local or down at the corporate office.

  18. I will never use or recommend Title Max to anyone. They took my car because I was one month late and now will not give me my belongings back. I was going to pay the late payment but they told me i had to pay the loan in fill to get it back. They said i had only made one payment on the car which was wrong, i have made 3 or 4 payments. The last one i made was in cash and that is not even on file so where did $167 payment go??? I have the receipts to prove I did but those are in the car. The manager that I was dealing with, that started leaving me very rude and nasty voice mails, is no longer there and the new manager has not been very nice to me either. So I called main office and the woman there was very rude to me. I`m very unhappy and will make sure I tell everyone NOT TO USE TITLE MAX!!!!!

  19. DISHONEST. Cullman Al. My sons car overheated and TitleMax was one of the closest placest he could go, to get it off the road. When he realized it shouldn't be driven until it cooled off, he went inside and talked to the manager and explained the situation. He asked if he could leave it there and we would come back later and try to fix it. He said he told her we may only be able to move it to another spot. He asked her point blank..."you're not going to have it towed are you?" Long story short we couldn't get it off their lot that night,and the next morning they had it towed. Ironically when I picked our car up from the towing service, I noticed that Titlemax was the first four phone numbers listed on a speed dial phone list, hanging on their wall. I think they're in ca-hoots! Lying Bastards: $125.00

  21. I took out a loan with this company several months ago when I was pregnant and unable to work..I am back working but so behind on bills I'm unable to make my payments. Me and my husband agreed that we wouldn't be able to continue to pay the loan so we decided to surrender the vehicle after reading in the paperwork that it was ok yo do so. Not that we had ANY intention in this, but when I gave a curtisy call to the company to let them know of our decision, I was talked down too and never have I been spoken to in that manner by any one of a professional manner. I was embarrassed enough as it was only to end the phone call in tears from being spoken to so badly. It doesn't need ti stated in the contract that the vehicle can be surrendered if unable to make the payments if your going to tell me I HAVE to make a payment and have very mean remarks and comments made to me after I call. I will not recomend this company and am very upset with the customer service.

I took out loan with this company I just GA from New Orleans and the lady was coming to let us rent her told me that I could move in but when I got here the house had bugs ( dead and alive walking around the house the carpet was dirty, walls in the holes, everything was nasty, but the funny thing about this lady never came out to see me she sent her husband who did not who I was and wanted me to pay him $600 to $800 to move, so after having my Uhaul truck tow away( that a whole different story by its self), so we , me and my finacee had to stay in the hotel for 3 week all of my saving was gone, so when I found another house to move into we had to go to this company in Forest Park Ga (TM), okay my first 3 payments was okay. but now I am not able to pay them on this month of Oct, because I am on SSI and not working I get one check a month, I ask Mr. Cory to move my pay day to the 25 of each month then I can pay he told me that he would that but I will have to the 16.46 a day for PPT rate( which is ripe off), each day that will end up to 900 some dollars, because my payments is $499.93 tops but really $599.93 max,totaling $900, so they are making $500 dollars more then my payments!!! when I do pay on the 25 of each. Well I told him that this company is making money and getting paid by taking people money, that two time more then what you got the loan if you are late. See I told you my fiancee, well he die this pass Thursday they found his body in his room, my electric is off, my gas is off my water has been turn off 5 time in three months, my landlord is going too put me out and I don't have no family here in GA, I don't know no one who can help me all so what you do.Well for me pray, pray pray and believe this company shall not keep doing people the away they are, we all are keeping them feed, helping them paid their bills when all of us have made business this company. We all is suffering, losing our cars, home and everything we all need to band together and stop this company for good if you agree let do something about it, there has to be a change NOW!!!

    1. I agree with the above comments and have the same problem. When I went to see TitleMax
      in Palatine, IL. I was talking with the current manager Martha. While completing the paperwork for them I noticed they were hiring. I asked her about it and she said we are hiring and bring your resume or email it to me. Call me on Thursday to follow up.. I did call her and she would not get on the phone. She emailed and said if I don't hear from anyone let her know and she would contact someone.
      IN TRUTH: You CANNOT work for Titlemax if you have a loan. Martha never mentioned that so when I was given a check for $2400.00 with monthly payments of $321.78 I almost died.
      Well, thinking I finally may have a job I took the check to pay needed costs. No job and now I will have to forfeit my car and then some.
      I have not read one good comment about this company. They are unscrupulous and lying thieves to loan me 2400.00 and my repayment is $7700.00.
      They need a class action suit to close them down and prohibit any future scams!

    2. I borrowed $1400 against my car in November, i have made 197.50 payments for last 6 months this month July I called to see what i owed to pay it off. I still owed over $1400. However I paid it off that day I will be contacting a lawyer. This is crazy how much interest they charge at 150%. People cannot afford this and certainly shouldn't be charged this much interest. I understand they have to charge some interest to makae money but at 150% is not right. They are taking advantage of people who need help and screwing them over. This is July 2014 and I have an appointment with a lawyer who also agreres with me and many other people.

I must agree with every comment I've read thus far....something really needs to be done about the way Title Max is treating people I took out a 600.00 loan was never late are behind on my payments I got layer off on my job and was unable to make ONE payment, and my car was towed I called and asked how much it would be to get my car out and the worker told me 1200.00 I was pissed but needed my car so I payed it had to pick my own car up from a car auction didn't not receive my title I've been call and going to the store and she tells me to come back tomorrow this has been going on for 2 weeks now and I still haven't received my car title I called the corporate office and they will not return my call... if your thinking about going here think again DOBT DO IT go to ACE you'll get your title the same day...

    2. Most people are sincere aboyt paying back therir loan and don't plan on things going wrong with their repayments. But Title Max knows, (just like everyone else), that sometimes things happen. The difference is Title Max just doesn't care. Not want to take a partical payment or having someone else make the payment for you is something that makes no sense. It's not good business. I recently moved to California from Georgia and they are telling me that I have to come into the office to make my payment so that I can sign a piece of paperwork. That's not going to happen. They are telling me they are going to have to file papers with the court for steeling my own car because I can't come into their office in Georgia to to sign a piece of paperwork. So I guess it still didn't matter that I could make my payment. Oh yeah, I going to get charged interest everyday until I can come in to make my payment and sign a piece of paperwork. Now how's that for Costumer Service???

They get you by starting your loan over everytime you make payment..it's considered a new loan..lost my car to them and really don't care ..Motor bad and they better fix if before the sell it to someone...Axles are dangerous...oh I was able to finance me another car..soooo they really didnt stop anything...wish u guys all the best...I cant see anyone just simply not paying a loan back because they didnt want to..But i can see people experiencing financial hardships.The supervisor in Atlanta on Memorial Drive is really unprofessional Ahmad...He's arrogant but his attitude will land him in the unemployment line.I thank god for people of such ignorance because the money I was going to pay off my loan with the following day was used as a down payment on a new car.I hope everyone stays positive and know it's okay for bad things to happen to good people..learn from it.The employees at this store were actually nice it's just him.He's cost the company alot of money and I bet he'll cost them even more if he sells that car to someone ...You can tell the people in the store really are uncomfortable when he's around.he'll be jobless in the next year or so too unorganized!!

  27. Stephanie King, GENERAL MANAGER, at the Campbellton Road location was extremely disrespectful and rude. As a first time customer. It was debilitating and extremely uncalled for just because I asked what my payment was going to be b/c I was out of town and needed the amount while away at Thanksgiving Holidays. She asked if I had my paperwork and did I actually come in to initially start the account and terrorized me with a series of questions before answering my one question. It was awful. I will never use them again just because of her. I tried to call Corporate Headquarters in Savannah and you can not even get through to make a complaint about the service, so it will go unchecked, uncorrected for her to behave like a bull dozier with the next client. She will scare a lot of people away with that attitude. I decided instead of waiting six months, to pay my account off early today in two months and never speak with anyone at that branch again. I pray she is not the one to train any of the other staff. I am positive a young new agent was observing her behavior. What a pitty!   28. Titlemax located at 2132 Campbellton Rd SW in Atlanta, GA 30311 with Phone:(404) 756-8285 has an extremely rude and disrespectful General Manager named Stephanie King. As a new client, I called to ask a few questions and she took over the conversation and started to bull dozier the conversation and would not let me ask the questions I had called to ask while on vacation for the Thanksgiving holidays. Then she questioned why I did not have the paperwork with me while on vacation. She started with a long list of questions at me when I was the one who called them to get two questions answered. I could only get one question answered. The disrespect was so awful, I am ending my account today and will never use the company again. She should not be permitted to train anyone and she definitely needs a few customer service courses. I felt like a terrorist being questioned for a hate crime and all I wanted to know was how much I owed. It was awful. Instead of waiting 6 months to pay off the debt, today might be better so I never have to deal with her again. Finally, I tried to contact Corporate to let them know about the horrible experience on the phone with Ms. Stephanie King, to no avail. I could not reach anyone. She cut me off, had a really disrespectful tone and was not considerate or professional.     I am real i have had 4 loans. this loan will be paid off in jan 2013 and i will get my title back. i lost my first car cause i just didnt manage my bills right. and even after that when i got a new car they still took me back. when rent falls close to payments i call and say this is when i can pay and they say this is what you will owe THAT simple. the one time i forgot to pay i am glad they called my job the next day cause it saved me on paying extra fees when i really had the money. I was told that if I kept in contact with them when I could not pay, they would work with me. WRONG! My calls never got logged into their system. I finally started working with the manager only. I call him twice a week and on my last call he was not in. Guess what! He didn't get the message! Go figure! 2 days later I a repo man insulting my 14 year old child at 7a. Talk about an awful company, plus the people are extremely rude.

  31. Titlemax in memphis tn 38128, is so unprofessional I have asked them on NOT to come on my job and harass me about a loan I have with them. I have been late on this paticular payment this time but it was totally a misunderstanding about the payment,I am so ready to pay them out; I am greatful for there help but not them customer service. I will make my payment on the 11th of January along with the other one so please know and understand that I am a very unhappy customer. March I will pay this loan out "IN FULL".

  33. ok so im sitting in my living room and a title max lady comes to my door for someone eles she knocked i opened the door and she says rudly might i add, "well your not Amanda" i then told her that amanda wasnt here she is off doing her taxes and i shut the door, she stood outside my door for 15 minuts then knocked agian i open the door she informed me that i needed to get Amanda to the door right now i then got mad and said just give me the envolope and ill give it to her she told me she couldnt give it to anyone but amanda so i told her to leave before she got into her car my father in law went out to see if he could help she then handed the confidential letter to him not Amanda. when i called her office her boss informed me and my husband that we are nobodies and that we dont deserve to have someone with respect come to the door because we cant pay our bills when its not my bill! then i called corperation and nothing is being done no one will even get on the phone. i really do not apperciate be talked to like crap or like i own them money when i dont..

  34. They had a repo thug come ask for my key so he could hook up to my car. I advised him that TM made a copy at the time of my loan and I would not release my original. He said he was not given a key by TM prior to coming to my home. The thug refused to allow me to get several hundred dollars in personal items from my car before leaving. I noticed that the driver RAN over my schrubs and also destroyed several thousands of dollars in patio furniture. When I advised them I was calling the police the driver yelled "he's calling the law, let's get going-hurry!!" and they drug away my car causing more damge to my schrubs, yard and patio furniture. The Police filed a report for damage to personal property and for leaving the scene of a crime. I am sure TM will place blame the the repo thugs and vice versa and when it's all said and done I will have to go to arbitration. They can keep the car but they will both pay for their actions!!   36. I use TM when i need to pay property taxes and always pay the loan off within 4 months. My problem is that I'd like to pay bi-weekly but they charge you for 30 days of interest per payment. That is insane to me. They don't even give you any incentive to pay early or pay it off early. I've never received collection calls but they are always calling(harassing) me offering more money. Who does that? They called yesterday to ask if I wanted more money and they are doing some promotion where I can pay over the phone. I say ok, I don't want more money but I want to pay it off. She says billmatrix only allows 750.00 max and you have to pay a fee for every transaction. Note to self, don't use TM ever again. their system is set up to keep vehicles. they always give me a payment breakdown and if you pay the minimum amount you've paid 2.5 time what was borrowed. My suggestion is to avoid TM at all costs if you can.

I don't work for Title max but I do work in the customer service industry and I guarantee you, I can tell someone several times our payment plans and default policies and they will call back the next month and swear they didn't know. After reading a few comments on here and a couple of them struck me the wrong way especially the ppl talking about just pay your bills and etc. Let me start off by saying I used to be in that business a few months ago with Title Max/Title Bucks competitor. We did EVERYTHING by law and made sure our customers was taking out loans that he/she could pay back. Now Title Max/Title Bucks are completely different. They do not explain your APR to you (which is a law that they MUST go over every time you renew your loan), do not go over the power of attorney, Arbitration Agreement, and etc. So if you did not know that it is against the law for them not explaining those papers to you EVERY time you renew your loan then I highly recommend you to call your attorney or go to Borrowsmart.com to let them know what is going on and they will do an investigation which I know TitleMax/Title Bucks will lose. As a result they are shutting down businesses that do not follow those guidelines. So for all the people that have something smart to say just cause you being a ass by paying 10x more then what you actually took out then by all means continue doing but to those that want justice against this crooked ass company please do what I said. Also the best thing about it is you will get your title back for free and the loan will be voided out. Now have a great day!!!

You guys knew what you were doing when you did the loan, don't act now like you are the victims because you are not, it is easier to blame it on titlemax than yourselves for your poor decisions, if they repoed your car was because you did not pay the bill, what happen when you don't pay your electric bill, they will disconnect your service right? so the same with titlemax, you don't pay your bill they will repossess your car
    they explain how it works, it is your decision on how much money you pay every month, as long as you pay more than the minimun you will get your title as soon as you want.
    I don't believe that titlemax won't give you the title when you pay off the account, they ALWAYS do.

    1. 1. Most people are sincere about paying back therir loan and don't plan on things going wrong with their repayments. But Title Max knows, (just like everyone else), that sometimes things happen. The difference is Title Max just doesn't care. Not wanting to take a partical payment or having someone else make the payment for you is something that makes no sense. It's not good business. I recently moved to California from Georgia and they are telling me that I have to come into the office to make my payment so that I can sign a piece of paperwork. That's not going to happen. They are telling me they are going to have to file papers with the court for stealing my own car because I can't come into their office in Georgia to to sign a piece of paperwork. So I guess it still didn't matter that I could make my payment. Oh yeah, I am going to get charged interest everyday until I can come in to make my payment and sign a piece of paperwork. Now how's that for Costumer Service???

I lost 2 vehicles in a weeks time because I called the DM to complain about the office manager who threatened me. I am terminally ill and will be without a way to see my doctors or to get my medicines. Its 15 miles from my house to town. Guess I will be walking for a while. Watch what you say to them or the complaints you make, because it will cost you in the end.

I have an account with Title Max and I have just been through a traumatic experience, one of their employees called me and was extremely rude on the phone and during the conversation he called me the N word I hung up the phone and the next day I went outside and my car was gone. I called the police and they said it had been reposed, I did not owe Title Max any money I had just paid my loan on the 3rd they made arrangements to give me my car back but they said I owed the $56 after calling me a N and reposing my car I had to pay $56 to get it back which I did not owe I am suing this Title Max is on RT 59 in Naperville Illinois.

  52. I never had a reason for a strong anti-Title Max sentiment before today, and I am seething. So mad I could spit. I came home to a neighborhood littered with small, tied, clear plastic bags. The baggies each contained a simulated $50 bill and what appeared to be simulated crack cocaine rocks!!!!!!!! as part of an ad for a Spartanburg, SC, Title Max office. Apparently, according to law enforcement, it is legal for them to litter and legal for them to insult my mixed-demographic neighborhood (outside of the branch's city limits) with this money / crack lure. I am seething that they can get away with this indecency. Title Max is lower than pond scum. They are demons who seemingly get off on preying on the downtrodden. True predators. My daughter wants to let them have her car, but their won't come and get it. they say it's not worth their time. Basicly they told me the loan was written off because it was so old, but still won't hand over the title or come get the car. The so called office manager in Beaufort, S.C. is nothing but a rude piece. I'm going to try Corporate in the a.m. and see if I get any where. Not holding my breath. If not it's going to the crusher.

  57. This is a complaint about the Chapman Highway branch of Title Max in Knoxville TN.

    Let me preface this with a good word about the Regional Manager and the District Manager, both of whom were very nice and understanding each time I contacted them. Somehow there is no trickle down effect on the particular branch of Title Max that I have the misfortune of dealing with. The first two months of my contract, I got resistance and downright hatefulness from the staff as I tried to make payments over the phone with my debit card, which I found out at the time they were still doing. For some odd reason I was treated as badly when I tried to GIVE them money as I am being treated as a past due customer. This early indication of misery ahead was addressed by Sean, the Regional Mgr (?) who assured me that I could pay by phone and I would not experience any more disrespect from the staff at this branch, in particular a guy named Craig who got personally insulting to the point I had to hang up on him.

    I had to speak once again to Craig Thursday. He was civil this time but there was miscommunicaton that I was to make a special trip to Knoxville to make my payment. I told him that I am frequently in town once or twice a week but cannot say for certain which days that might be. Sometimes I go to church there, which I had planned to do yesterday, but I was called in to work. I was not able to go by and drop my payment in the dropbox as I had suggested. I am on the road most of the time. On Friday, I still got a call from Brittany, and on Saturday one from Glyn. I know that I am past due but these harassing calls are not necessary and I demand that they stop. A simple, civil reminder that I am past due is sufficient, especially once I have contacted the office.

    As I said, when I first opened this account, I was treated just as badly, although I was trying to GIVE them money. It was an issue about paying over the phone with a debit card. If they would modernize they would have my payments on a more timely basis. This is an internal problem with the company. It's quite enough that their extortionist rates are not explained well to unsuspecting borrowers. My ignorance and naivete have resulted in an entrapment stretching out over the next 22 months, according to Craig. A $500 loan??? I may have made a deal with the title loan devil. They can victimize someone else with their strong arm, loan shark tactics. I won't be subjected to the Chapman Highway Mini-Mafia.

    I am filing a complaint with any consumer protection agencies that will listen, posting to the Complaints Board, and asking my representative in the Statehouse to review their practices.

    The bottom line is that I owe them money. As much as I think that their modus operandi is unethical and predatory, they will get their money every month. I know they don't like unkept promises or BS from people. I am not one of those people, so I will not make promises that I cannot keep. I need only ONE call at the appropriate time to remind me that I am past due. Furthermore, all I am asking is that they stop treating their customers like the losers they seem to think we are. They were so pleasant when they wanted my business, but the masks came off once the ink dried, and I signed away my indentured servitude to their dispassionate lording over me.

    "Yesterday, July 5, 2013, I called the TitleMax on Chapman Hwy in Knoxville TN to see if I could use my debit card to make the payment. This would be my second payment, the first having been made by telephone using my debit card. In both instances I was out of town and could not be there in person to make the payment. Incidentally, I had started a new job btween these payments and had to wait threee weeks for my first pyacheck. I contacted Gwen at this location around the last week of June to explain this and set up the payment for July 5. She must have misunderstood me, because on June 28th or 29th I got a text telling me I had missed the payment. I called back after hours and left a message that I would not be able to make the payment until July 5th. I received a subsequent email confirming this. On July 5th I called this location and spoke to Craig. I told him that I was out of town and needed to make the payment with my debit card. I had been told at some point that the first and last payments had to be made in person. I acknowledged that an exception had been made on the first payment, and I had no choice but to make the payment by telephone. Craig immediately got very authoritative and defensive when he asked me very rudely when I was going to be back in town. I told him it would not be within the next few days. I thought this was irrelevant and unnecessary. He seemed agitated and said, what I understood to mean, that his office had just been set up to take payments with debit cards. This is not true because I had done it before, as I stated. I reiterated that I was just trying to make the payment, reminding him that it was late,and wondered why he was giving me a hard time. I wondered aloud why it was a problem for him to take my money. At least he wasn't having to collect it against my will. He interrupted me several times talking about TN laws, and refusing to do anything but condescend and berate me. He remaked that I needed to listen to him and took it personally by saying something about the 'way' I was 'talking' to him. I told him that I needed to speak to his superior. He acted like a spoiled brat instead of a professional. Dave then came to the phone and was civil but did not seem interested in hearing my complaint about Craig. He did not respond to any of my above remarks. I asked if there was going to be a problem in the future and he said no, and that I would be able to make my payments over the phone in the future.

    The point I want to make clear is this - I am one of the many people who, unfortunately, find themselves paying high interest rates in order to borrow money. I, and others in my situation should NEVER be "talked down to", demeaned, rebuked, or admonished by an employee whose job it is to provide customer service. This should be the company's mission not just during application and aproval, but until and through the end of the term of the loan. It is clear that we clients, who make TitleMax and its agents succesful, are considered suckers. Evidently, it must appear that, if we are compelled to seek help at title loan and payday loan companises, it must be due to the really low estate of our lives. Sadly, your agents' main resource of statistical success depends on the very people whom they hold in disdain once the loan is made. I REFUSE to accept this behavior from your company and I appeal in good faith to yor sense of fairness in this matter. I would like a personal response from someone who matters. I have been with title max for over 2 year's and they are horrible, I had a baby and was out of work for six week's and I called them when I was 2 week's behind on my payment to let them know that I was going to be paying it that week and they said ok but that I had to pay 100.00 more because it was late and I say that's fine and then a get a call from my aunt that they showed up at my house after I had just talked to them and now this time I was 3 week's to the day and they came out and repoed my vehicle and they want me to make 2 payments of 744.00 each are pay the loan off , my loan was for 2, 000 , I despise title max and they are so crooked.

I am an African American and because I am married to a white woman I was called names like a white boy, and endured all kind of racial jokes. I can't believe a company that makes a much profit as TitleMax would just try to hurt families this way. My work at TitleMax was great until we got Mcgee as a district manager. But every dog has its day!!

    Hours off clock and went through such a hardship for 9 months only to get denied a promotion and to get fired. Not only that they are trying to deny my unemployment. I am an African American and because I am married to a white woman I was called names like a white boy, and endured all kind of racial jokes. I can't believe a company that makes a much profit as TitleMax would just try to hurt families this way. My work at TitleMax was great until we got Mcgee as a district manager. But every dog has its day!!

  65. 1. Most people are sincere about paying back therir loan and don't plan on things going wrong with their repayments. But Title Max knows, (just like everyone else), that sometimes things happen. The difference is Title Max just doesn't care. Not wanting to take a partical payment or having someone else make the payment for you is something that makes no sense. It's not good business. I recently moved to California from Georgia and they are telling me that I have to come into the office to make my payment so that I can sign a piece of paperwork. That's not going to happen. They are telling me they are going to have to file papers with the court for stealing my own car because I can't come into their office in Georgia to to sign a piece of paperwork. So I guess it still didn't matter that I could make my payment. Oh yeah, I am going to get charged interest everyday until I can come in to make my payment and sign a piece of paperwork. Now how's that for Costumer Service??? Can anyone help???

  66. They are the epidomy of whats wrong with the world today. Their gonna take my friends car after shes been paying on it for over a year. Her payment due date is today the 2nd of january and she gets paid the 3rd. But they wont wait. There actually gonna take her car over one day. And her loan is 229.00. And she is on disability because of a neck injury and has to get to doctor appointments. So these people at the south st.louis location on watson rd are heartless and are whats wrong with the world today. Preying on the poor and downtroddin. Sick. Total evil.

  67. I tried to pay my son's titlemax bill and was told by the General Manager, S.T., Opelika, AL, that if she took my money, she would be "fired". Doesn't the company want the money? This is so unfortunate. After reading all of the comments, this may be a charge to take this situation to congress or to our legislature. Things has to change and the only way is to bring it to the legislature attention is through social media and legal guidance. This should never happen.MH

  68. I recommend anyone thinking about taking a loan out with TitleMax, or any title loan company, think about it long and hard. They charge an APR rate of 150+% if you pay minimum monthly payments. They don't trick you into anything. People just think about the quick money when they walk into their office. All the details are in the contract you sign when you take out the loan. Unfortunately, people don't read the contract before they sign it. If you're having financial problems today, do you really think you can afford another monthly bill? Especially at 150+% interest? Do yourself a favor and stay away from ANY title loan company. I made the mistake once. Never again will I be so foolish. I ended up paying over $3,000 for a $1,200 loan. The mafia charges less interest.

  70. I am a previous customer of titlemax and as of today,will never use your establishment again. I was subjected to the most inept,rude,loud and totally unprofessional "general manager" I have ever encountered. Not only did she fail at her job but she lied to me about doing it in the time frame she said she would do it. YOUR "general manager" was agrumentive in the store with me in FRONT of other customers and proceeded to discuss MY business with another customer. A total STRANGER! I find this type of behavior deplorable for an imployee but most of all detrimental to your company. I am not stopping at this letter but refering to the better business association AND plubic media. On another note,she KNOWINGLY gave me the wrong documentation. I only know because she herself SAID it was wrong! This occurred at TitleMax 1231 Moreland Ave SE Atl,Ga 30316. Feb 28@ 6:30pm. I demand a response and apology from TitleMax AND see proper disciplinary action to this "general manager". Thank you.

  71. I was a customer once with Titlemax. I paid my loan in full on 2-8-2014 and today 3-6-2014 I woke up to my car not in the driveway. I started calling and chatting online with this company and no one could help me because they did not have access to my account. Even the police could not help because they repo company filed some type of document stating the car was not stolen simply repo. This was a huge inconvenience due to me having to miss work, I also missed my exam (nursing school), and had to walk my children to school (all three go to different schools). All I can get is, "I'm sorry this has happened to you!” They do not understand how this has affected me. They are at work being paid while I am not due to no car. It is now 2pm in the afternoon and still no car! This company is a rip-off and has not done anything to compensate for my lost wages and potentially failed semester of a hard program to get into.

I defaulted on a loan due to a situation beyond my control yet when I had the money to make payments used an Attoerney to arrange a new contract to keep my car, stop the interest crewing and them repo the car. The branch manager didnot have the aurhorization and WAS GOING TO GET IY APPROVAL FROM HER BOSS. I have been waiting now several monthes for her to return calls to my attorney who hold the money I send monthly for this loan in default which I am attempting to make good on. They all ready have some of the money on the 1st loan at a 30 percent interest rate so it is not as if they have not made a profit out of my situation. I just want to pay off the loan get MY TITLE TO MY CAR from a lesson well learned.

Seeking weakness in people and pounding on those weaknesses to make his staff conform to his egarious management standards. If you want a professional environment that nurtures your career, stay away from this company and Rommel Bradley. This company apparently likes brow beating, cruel and barely competent managers. The pleasant recording indicated my call would be answered in less than 1min. .....10mins later while still holding the same message claims my " call will be answered in less then one minute" what a joke. I left the call on speaker phone just to see how long it would take for someone to answer (again this is the CORPORATE OFFICE)....same message 25mins. later HILARIOUS...needless to say I hung up. HORRIBLE VIRTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE and I never had an opportunity to speak with a person.

  75. what i find as a scam with this company is that they set a certain day of the month as the day the payment is due. And if you are 1 day late they harass you... and when u do make a payment they have to know the next day you will be making a payment, like they look forwards to that day so they can call you and your family and friends and harass you. The title max in Liberty Missouri used to call my work and try to talk to me. I advised the guy that i get into trouble for him calling me at work, and he told me well if i made my payment on time then he wouldn't be calling me. That was a tuesday, and i get paid on a friday. He couldn't wait 4 more days for his payment, he then proceeds to tell me that by paying late i am paying nothing towards the principle. Now how can that be when you I am paying $5 a day which is how my payment adds up, Now if i pay $168 payment 4 days late then how can none of it go towards principle? This company is a scam, and i want to know if anyone has a petition or something to get this company out of business and loans like this outlawed? You would think with the liberals in office they would be fighting against companies like this that screw over hard workers, who get laid off or lose their jobs. Those who had no other options but to borrow money from them, only to lose their cars and never get caught up financially because of places like this. I mean that is their chief compaint against conservative big businesses!!! Dennis at the Liberty Missouri title max actually told me i need to prioitize between paying to keep my car and paying my childs support. When i asked him to clearify and if that is what he was saying he refused to answer me and avoided it all together! I'm sorry but if this guy has a job tomorrow i will be seeking legal advice as to how to proceed against him and against title max. And I would really like him to tell that to child support enforcement... Oh wait he won't cause cowards like that don't stand by what they say. They hide behind the company. But if you put them in the same boat as the people they dick over they will realize what they did and hopefully have some regret and remorse...... And don't forget you ahve to make a payment in person. they don't have teh technology to accept a payment by card over the phone. Paying in person is inconveinent and out of the way especially when they expect you to rush to them after work, during rush hour, which is very unsafe!   79. Well, just had my bad experience with them also. Yes, I asked for a loan, and due to life situations could not make my payment, 23 days late on one payment. Was repoed on the 23rd day. I was told by the manager that the full balance had to be paid off to get it back. Thats fine, I did what I had to do to come up with the balance. Of course they wouldnt tell me where my truck was even after I paid it off. It took them from Friday afternoon to Monday around 2 pm to tell me where it was, so that I could pick it up. To top it off, the manager and the assistant manager both told me that there were no extra charges, no storage fees and no towing fees. Everything was paid. When I finally got the info, the tow company hit me with a $630 bill for towing and storage. Could not have my truck without paying it. Title Max told me that was not correct, I didnt have to pay them anything more than what I had paid. When it came down to it, I had to pay it. Title Max said, Oh we didnt know they were charging us. Got my truck, after paying the $630, on the phone afterwards, Title Max basically told me, its my problem. And to top it off, I paid my loan off and still have no title......Waiting for the corporate office to give me some info before I contact an attorney. This was the Gaffney Title Max, manager is Brandon, Assistant is Stephanie.

  85. This company has the rudest customer service reps. When you ask a question regarding your account they can never give you a clear answer, and they take you around in circles. Have you ever noticed how TM is always changing store managers? The longest I have seen one stay at a store is 6 months. TM is constantly changing their staff. I think it is truly an attempt to cover their fraudulent/corrupt ways. TM can be referred to as "loan sharks". A HORRIBLE company to do business with. Their time is coming. it won't be long before their loans are illegal, same as payday loans.

If you don't pay your power bill, its gets shut off correct? If you don't pay your car note, your vehcile is at risk. if you read in the contract, you are considered in default if your payment is not in the office ON or BEFORE your due date. Titlemax follows all rules and state regulations, you guys just dont know what the fuck you are getting into. Don't come get a loan because you are broke then get mad when your car is repo'd. there are legal law that must be followed. nothing any of you people have to say would ever hold up in court. read the fine print in your contract and educate yourself. if this company is so shitty, why are stores popping up every where in every state?? that means each store is growing or they would not be opening 1-3 stores a week.
