  1. I live in Tulsa OK and on 1/30/12 at 12:00pm, I visited store #31522and I had the L1. That had to be the worst food I have ever received from one of your stores. The cole slaw tasted and looked old. The fish and fries were cold and I could squeeze out a spoon of grease off the fish. I will never ever visit that store location again.

  2. I live in Co and visited the LJS, 250 W 136th Ave 80234 on 3-4-12. The absoulet WORST 'fast food' experience ever!! All my family and I got was deep fried batter! Beware the commercials where they show an actual FISH FILLET! You will get a small, nugget size, over cooked portion of fish in about 1/2 lb of greasy nasty batter. Everything else (the sides) WERE JUST AS BAD. 'Pop-Corn' shrimp my ass! Pop-Corn batter is more like it. I got a side of fried shrimp. I was a nasty mess of mushy gross! UGH! Will NEVER eat at any LJS, ANYWHERE!!!!

  3. I visited yr location in plano, texas and it was horrible. I ordered the fresh fish which is grilled talpia or salmon. My salmon had the texter of an overcooked piece of chicken. It was like eating fishy rubber. My sides were cold and the popcorn shrimp that my children had was all breading and no shrimp. I sat in the drive thru for 20 minutes and ended up with nasty food. This is the last time that I eat long john silver.

  4. We eat at Long John Silvers on a regular basis and the one in Urbandale, Iowa at 7421 Douglas Avenue has always been our favorite until about 6 weeks ago. We stopped at the take-out window after ordering 2 #15 combos, we proceeded home and when we opened the bag we had chicken instead of fish. I called and talked to "BRUCE" the manager and explained the situation. He was very polite and said he would send coupons in the mail. A week later I called "BRUCE" again and again he assured me he would send coupons, that was 3 weeks ago. So if you have a problem, don't expect anything from them. We will not go to any LJS again if their policy is to lie to customers.

  6. I visited the Long John Silvers (Store# 31086)1330 Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana. EVERYTIME I order from this restaurant there is a problem with my order i.e. either the sides are cold/old, the fish and shrimp are beyond greasy, what I ordered is not what I receive. The manager, Shawn Brown, is incredibly rude and has no people skills whatsoever! It amazes me how some people are promoted into management, customer service is key when dealing with the public! I actually spoke with the District Manager, Willie York, who actually offered little or no assistance. As a customer who received chicken instead of fish on my order, it was just a waste of $6.51. I advise and will continue to tell my fellow co-workers to avoid eating LJS at all costs!

  11. This LJS at 1414 N Town East Blvd. Mesquite, Texas is one of the worst to get the order right. It's been a year the last time Iv'e been there, and I made the mistake of returning 08/13/2012. I really think these people are on a mission to allow their store to fail, but I may be wrong. It may be as simple as people just bolwing off what they didn't get in their order or not saying their order was wrong or just don't have the time to ask " WHY " and LJS wins evertime. The more everyone allows them to get away with wrong orders the more they'll keep doing it over and over. All I wanted was my order to be correct. After all, I did pay for it and now I will ask my credit card company to dispute the charges and I'll never return to that store.

  15. My first meal at LJS was in 1983. I enjoyed it very much. I have been waiting for LJS to bring back the Fish and Chips they marketed several years ago. I can say the fish and chip meal I was served was perfect. I also use to enjoy the clams, before they were changed. I don;t care for the new clam breading.

  16. I live in Suffolk, Va. We have one Long John Silver here. It is a ok place to eat. Usely the service is ok. I visted Dec.29 around 2:30. I sat and ate my food. When I got to the coleslaw it taste so bad I could not chew my first bit. I eat there often. I never tasted the coleslaw like that before. I finished my meal, and went to order a single piece of fish to go. The person behind the counter looked at me like what do u want I ask for a fish to go and I said u might want to check the coleslaw it tasted a little funny. She said in nasty manner its made fresh each day. I said I don't know it taste a little funny. She came from behind the counter and publicly asked everyone in place is your cloeslwaw ok. One customer looked at me and shook his head. I said see how we ask when someone tries to help. The woman identified herself as the mannager, and yelled at me until I left the store. She was distured looking when I first saw her. People like this should not be allowed to work in the public. Very short fuse.

  17. We have been eating at Long John Silvers for over 20 years and love it. Unfortunately almost all of the restaurants in Minnesota have closed. Only 2 left, and they are to far away to drive to. What a shame, and no one can tell us why they are closing. There is no place to get fish/chicken & chips. Eaten in moderation, there is no problem in eating fried foods. can anyone tell me why these stores have all closed? Thanks for any info. Sincerely, Craving Fish & Chips

  19. I went to the LJS on SW Freeway in Houston TX and bought the 8 piece family meal to go. When I got home n tasted the cole slaw I thought I was going to vomit. I tried calling the store and their phone # is not a good number. I called other LJS stores around the area and the phone #s weren't good either....only got a message that phone has been disconnected. i called the corporate office and it sounded busy. Do they have a good working number? If it was not raining and dark, I would go and complain. But i will definitely save and take it tomorrow so someone can tell me if they sold spoiled cole slaw to so many people.....I cant believe they dont have a mananger or someone tasting the food before selling it.

  20. Years ago, I called to ask if Long John Silver's had removed trans fats from their menu. I was told YES, trans fats were gone. Then I found LJS's nutrition info online. The trans fat amounts posted are through the roof. I switched to a different fish restaurant until LJS's gets rid of trans fats.

  21. We went Long John Silvers on 92 highway in Dandridge, Tenn.
The staff has always been awful except for when they first opened. We ordered fish and got chicken. My husband didn't realize it was chicken and I picked it up to break it up for the kids, seeing that it was chicken he then took it back. What really grossed us out was they put the chicken back in the ben to sale to another customer. I have worked in resturants and this is totally unexceptable. They are putting people at risk. They were suppose to have thrown the food away. I have always been told you never serve food that another customer has received ever!!!!!!!! It is to be disposed of!!!!!!
So if they are doing this what else are they doing!!!
Why are the staff clean, their uniforms look like they haven been washed in a week.

  23. I don't have a complaint, I am a little angry though that you don't have any LJS restaurants in the area of Salt lake city or suburbs. vI don't know what these people are complaining about ,m but if they are whining about the good then maybe they need to think of just going some place else if the food is not to their liking, Corrective criticism in telling what the issue is than giving negative criticism. I wish if you are thinking places to put your restaurants that you do here the area has none, and I am sure that there would be plenty of people that would be happy to peruse the menu at your stores and maybe eat there if there were any here, I used to live in Reno, Nevada and the one store on Kitzkei lane was always good, Every place is going to be different, some managers may care or not, as will employees, Like i said , or if I didn't if your considering new locales for your places look into the Salt lake area or surrounding countries as none are in this area, I am not sure you people read these, but I just hope you do.

What has become of this place that used to be "used to be" a great place. Now its all grease, no frys, and lack of good customer service, if this place goes under they can't blame it on the ecomonmy, they can blame it on there lack of product and customer service and bad management. 29. Went to the new Long John Silvers in Seymour,TN. this weekend, pulled into the parking lot and theres a guy in the Black Uniform embraced with a girl and right in front of the main parking lot by the front door entrance they are making out and going at it like they need to get a room!!!, theres also another guy in Black uniform standing there with them watching. Ok, so I go in anyway, the floors inside in the kitchen are just FILTHY, the kitchen prep and holding area looks so dirty I almost turn around and leave, there are 2 couples inside eating, place was not busy,
( Wonder why!? ) and all the 5 or 6 people ( employees ) standing around are in the Black uniform but the fronts of their shirts and all around the front and back pockets of their slacks are just FILTHY, It looks like they had food on their hands and crammed their hands in their pockets when they were dirty. And of course then wiped them off on their shirt. I bet it wont take long for the restaurant inspector to pay them a visit!!

  32. We eat at Long John Silvers but the one located in Brandon Florida Store # 31423 818 W Brandon Blvd. the outside is run down looks to be falling apart, and has 2 Auto's parked on the lot, one a Ford Ranger Pickup that's been there at least 2 months, has flat tires and is jacked up with jacks, and the other an old Chevy, looks like it has not run in a while, why would they let these old nasty auto's be parked on the lot, this even adds to the building looking do bad and in need of revising and paint and more. The drive threw are is so old and hard to get into it, and the pavement or parking lot is so bumpy and holes in the payment, makes it an eye sore. Does anyone inspect the restaurants and have a check list, if so they must have forgotten this restaurant.

It is disgusting on both sides of the counter. I will not go back to either location until I hear from the District Manager or other customers tell me it has improved. Get you act together or go out of business. That may happen if there is no improvement in the coming year.

  39. Captain D's Please!!! October 4, 2013 at 10:20pm

Two nights in a row, I have attempted eating at the Long John Silver's in St. Joseph, MO. The customers inside ALL turned to me immediately upon entering and said, in essence, "Plan to be here a while." I was. It was thirty minutes before I got my order. The fries had clearly been thawed and re-frozen at some point - a major health-code violation. The fish had to be gnawed it was so overcooked, and there was only one hush puppy when there should have been two. The girl who took my order was unkempt, missing all but one brown tooth (VERY unappetizing), and was wearing a uniform that was filthy; as was every other employee there. The floors, doors, tables, counter tops, and what I could see of the areas behind the counter were filthy. For some reason, I optimistically convinced myself that it was just perhaps a busy night and that things may be different the next night. However, the next night was far worse... The entire place was even dirtier (if that were possible), yet there was only one small family in the restaurant - besides myself. Two of the three people behind the counter were just standing there. The no-toothed girl was still there. While staring eye-to-eye for more than 45 seconds (I counted), with another girl and waiting for her to acknowledge me, I watched a 4th girl in the kitchen haphazardly toss the large order for the family onto the dirty "stainless" staging area. A hush puppy fell off, she watched it roll to the floor, and then began playing with her fingernails - apparently not interested in replacing it. Finally, the comatose girl who had been swapping stares with me frustratedly said, "What do you want?" I told her that a hush puppy just rolled off the other customer's plate, and that I too had been missing a hush puppy the night before. She just looked at the no-toothed girl and said - angrily - "You take his order." At that point another girl (with even dirtier clothes than the first two), appeared from the back area and began complaining while fumbling with some buttons on the drive-thru register. The no-toothed girl just stood there. I finally explained that the night before had not been a pleasant experience either, that I missed a hush puppy, that someone should replace the other family's dropped hush puppy, take some interest in getting their food to them, and that I would like a 2-piece fish basket. She just smiled and stared like she didn't understand the language I was speaking. After yet another uncomfortably long period of silent staring, she finally said, "So you want one hush puppy?" I calmly said, "No. Let's try this again," and repeated my order. She did say she was sorry about last night, but no effort was made to rectify it. Meanwhile, the other girl who had taken her place at the drive-thru window was clearly becoming angrier, and had ceased pressing buttons or acknowledging anyone in the drive-thru. After I got my food (which ultimately turned out to be worse than the same meal the night before), I got to my vehicle - only to decide to go back in after all and ask for the previous night's missing hush puppy. I stood at the counter for nearly 5 minutes watching as the rude girl who had refused to take my order the first time took up residence at the drive-thru, proceeded to ignore me entirely, and uncaringly said, "Hold on," to whoever was waiting at the drive thru microphone outside, while she slowly miscounted the same few dollar bills three times in a row. Two other employees made eye contact with me in that time, but no one bothered to even acknowledge my existence. I turned to two other patrons who had been waiting behind me for an order that no one appeared to be working towards completing, and they said, "Yeah, we know. It's always like this." I left.... Not only will I not be back, but I will be reporting this place first thing Monday morning to the health department.

    2. My name is Shelby Archdekin. I worked at LJS for 4 days. My first day I didnt work long only 4-8. It went smoothly but I did notice how slow the food made its way out the window. How nobody seemed to have anything to do. I however thought nothing of it. Maybe it was just slow. My 2nd night however we had a health inspection. No one was ready for it. I wasnt even aware we were having one until I walked in the door. Everything was just as dirty and trashy as the night before. Except this time everyone was being watched. LJS failed miserably and the management simply laughed about it. They made no effort to clean or anything after the inspector left. Anyways my 3rd day there I was put on front counter by myself with no help. I honestly was not that bad. We got a small rush and about 15 people were in lobby. I started taking orders and as I was trying to get a few orders handed out one of the crew members came up front and began yelling at me telling me I needed to get these orders taken. I already had. I simply told her I have I'm just trying to get these out now. Anyways during all of this a young man walks in. I turn around greet him and begin taking his order. I did fine. However when I took his money the register stopped working. I could get it to open. The crew me member (Kristy) who had previously yelled at me stalked back upfront to tell me just how wrong I was doing it. I stood back and watched as she struggled with the drawer also. She then went to get the manager. During all of this I started crying not only because of how embarrassed I was that she had treated me this way in front of all of these people but because I had the flu that day and the manager would not send me home. Anyways the manager came upfront and told me I was doing fine. The drawer does this sometimes. Not shortly after that I threw up and the manger was forced to send me home.
Now today would of been my 4th day of working for LJS. I got to work and as I began washing my hands for my shift (no one else does this by the way) the GM Carla said "you and I need to have a little talk". I instantly thought what could I have done? I had only been working 4 days! Carla proceeded to tell me "you can no longer work here if you can't take orders". I was flabbergasted how many people are perfect on their 4th day? Its not like I was refusing to do it. Anyways I said "Carla I have been taking orders". She replied with "thats not what I heard. I can't have someone working for me that cant take orders". I walked to the front and asked another employee "who said I wasnt taking orders?" She replied "Kristy". I was so angry I walked to the back once again told Carla "I was taking orders but I do not like being lied about and I dont want to work here anymore". I then gathered my things and left. North belt highway Saint Joseph MO . Dont eat there you will regret it. I can honestly say this is probably the worst place I will work my entire life. Shelby Archdekin

I can't believe the people they have working in this store. There was 2 other girls who could be successful in any other job they will have. 2 of the younger managers will do well anywhere also but the main manager is full of shit. Maybe that store cannot keep anyone because of her. Its bullshit. Im sure the store will close soon anyway. Its their loss not mine. -Shelny Archdekin.

I ordered 3 meals from Long John Silvers at 132nd and Maple in Omaha NE on 10-25-13. My husband brought it home for dinner. What I would like to know is, what happened to the hush puppies you make now? They tasted terrible! We have been ordering them for over 40 yrs. And have never tasted so bad. We always order extra hush puppies, but not anymore. We do not know if it was just a bad batch or if the whole recipe has changed. Our meal was $32. I do not want to pay for another meal to find out the same thing. I know in Omaha many of your restaurants have closed. Is this why?

I was a manager for another company before joining the lgs crew, and I never spoke to my employees or other managers the way I was spoken to last night. That was totally wrong to have a manager cursing at you to do something, while your doing something and others are standing around doing nothing. I hope they fix it before others do the same as me.

I am currently disabled but before that spent almost 20 years in customer service 8 of which were in management & if one of my emplyees displayed that conduct in any way shape or form they would have been terminated instantly! !! 46. Each time I go to Long John Silver's for a to go order I have to check the order before I leave to make sure it is correct. Only once or twice in the past few years can the get this right. Last Sunday I stopped again at the Long John's in Lawton, OK. I saw something on a big board as I approached the order line. I thought my husband might like, he's got cancer & recently had surgery. I told the clerk what I wanted, she came around the counter & had no idea what that meal was. She went back around the counter, asked someone about the meal & then informed me it was a new meal and wasn't offered yet. Guess they haven't gotten this one right either! False advertising now!!!! So I order the number 3 meal. As I'm standing there I figure this time this order is right! Wrong!!!!! Where are the shrimp? Finally when I arrived home & told my husband about the experience he advised me not to return to Long John Silver's!

  47. I Just spent nearly 30 dollars at your little elm location, I could not even eat a whole piece of chicken without my stomach turning, it tasted like (really) old grease that should probably not be consumed by humans. The staff at this location are indifferent and barely speak English. LJS used to be something our whole family could agree upon, but I can honestly say it's not something I hope to have again any time soon.

  52. Sat in line for 45 min- 1hr in drive thru at the LJS/A&W in Huntsville, AL ( 2220 Sparkman Dr NW ( Sparkman Drive), Huntsville, AL). They took at least 20 min per person just to get food out. By the time I received my order it was cold. This is unacceptable and I would like compensation of some sort. You had 3 cars leave your establishment strictly bc of the time problem. There shouldn't be any reason for this. I have worked in fast food and this is unacceptable to the customer and the management. Maybe not the management of the location bit higher management doesn't like this bc they lose money. I paid $16.87 for my families food and I didn't even get a receipt. So I have to just tell yo what was paid and hope that your company does the right thing.

  58. After not going to long John Silvers for many years we decided to give it a try last night. We don't really have money to spend on eating out and eat out very rarely, but I had a coupon so I decided to since we were out running errands all day and I didn't have anything set out for dinner. I ordered a 12 piece family meal with 8 chicken planks and 4 pieces of fish, some tater wedges, some mac and cheese, and some slaw. It came with hush puppies. I requested kindly for the fish and chicken to be made fresh and they said no problem. We live less than 5 minutes from the house so we got home, plated the kids food up, plated ours up, and started to eat. Everyone spit their food out. It was horrendous. The mac and cheese was a watery mess with no flavor. The fish was so salty and greasy that it was inedible. The chicken was the same, so salty and greasy it was inedible. The tater wedges were cold and soggy. The only edible thing out of the whole meal was the slaw and my kids don't eat that. I am not the type of customer to complain, but I at least expect to be able to eat at least half of the products I pay for. I tried to reach the store at least 10 times this evening. It goes to a voice mail. I left two polite messages asking a manager to please call me back. I never heard back. I called the customer service hotline and got a voice mail. I called corporate and they were closed. So in the end, I ended up spending money, which I don't have to waste, on something we couldn't even eat. I have my receipt and I am requesting a full monetary refund, as we will never set foot back into a Long John Silvers for as long as we live. It's not fit for a dog and to be honest, she wouldn't even eat it.

  61. This was my Mothers Day Dinner, what a mistake. We used to go to Long John's at least once every other week, but now you are just a little to far. So for a treat my husband invited over my kids and got Long Johns for me. I have NEVER had such greasy food in my life. What a waste of $30. The fish was so greasy that I has to press it out between two paper towels. The onion ring were also very greasy. Maybe from sitting in a pool of grease while I waited 10 (not joking) exactly 10 min in the drive thru, behind only one car to get my food. The worst $30 I ever spent. (maybe your cooks should make sure the grease is hot enough before they put the food in, that might cut down on the grease also.) Will never visit this place again.

Beginning sometime in July, we are switching to a different type of oil that is suppose to be taking care of some of these problems.

  62. Went to Taco Johns , Athens Oh. Hours posted ssys they are open until 10:30 P.M thru weekdays drive thru only. Dining room at 10:00. My family went thru on Tuesday night on 5/13/14. No one answed at speaker, so we pulled to window. Could see supervisior carring back registars. An employee opened window, we asked to place are order but was informed they closed in like six minutes and werent going to take are order because they closed early. I work in fast food and serve all the cars in drive thru even after closing, if they pulled on lot before closing time, they get served. We do not shut are store down early, so employees can leave 5 min early. Bad business and a great way to loose cusrtomers. You know as well as I do that one bad experience will tell at least 3 people and those people tell more. From reading previous comments I would suggest retraining in customer service. Poor job and poor escuse.

There is one imparticular guy who has an attitude. The food is gross and they take along time to serve. Whether it be drive thru or dine in. I've heard through an anonymous person that they have no manager there. I will keep complaining until you do something to make this restuarant run the way it should. 70. On Thursday this past week my husband and I decided to go to Long John Silver's on our lunch break in Sallisaw, Ok.. We eat there occasionally but this time it took a very long time to get our food and then as we walked out I checked and it was not our order. My husband went back in and was speaking to the girls working and the people who left just before us came back with our order. One of the girls working was a part of management and had in fact given them our food but began to roll her eyes and act as though it was the other girls fault. It was not and I found it very unproffesional for her to be acting that way. The other girl had only been working a few days there. My husband and I have worked with the public for a very long time and do not like to see people who are supposed to be somewhat in charge acting that way. It is very rude and only leads us to believe that the leaders there do not care at all and therefore I am leary about eating there ever again.

  71. What has happened to LONG JOHN SILVERS? We had a wonderful one in Falls Church, Va. on Broad St. (perfect) Now when we go to other branches the food is intolerable (the one in Charlestown, W.V.) We drove to Harrisonburg yesterday and while we were so startled by the condition of the store we were almost afraid to order food. Come on you have a good product, get the stores up to par and give us back the original LONGJOHN SILVER!!

We live in Woodstock, Va. and we would love to see a LONGJOHN SILVER COME HERE AND THERE IS A NEW SITE WHERE THEY ARE LOOKING FOR BUSINESSES TO LEASE SPACE. Check into it , it is on Resivoir Road.

Call me and I'll get you the information

I also have number and they have'nt heard the last from me. 3 adults and 3 teenagers n car. we got our order straight and proceeded to drive thru. We sat and sat and sat waiting for some ignorant ass to answer us. way before dark mind ya. So we drove to window and dumbass guy looked right at us and turned away. Some ugly fat woman passed us up still to go to out of sight room.We drove around and entered parking space. Not at all crowded. Sent 2 teens n to get what we wanted to take food back to cabin.Discussed our experience at table. 1 17 year old admitted to being quite scared. She said big fat man was rude and had grease spots all on his front shirt. She gave him all the orders and was'nt for sure he used gloves or tongs. She looked over counter to see food all on the floor. Now before sending girls n for food we noticed ugly fat woman come out with paper and tape it to drive thru area. Ha! We drove back thru with our food to read it. NOW GET THIS! DRIVE THRU IS CLOSED. Such rude, ignorant so called humans. Hope n future all LJS is closed. Other options are available and will use them. 77. I've tried to post on the online form and call, but no one ever does anything, and I'm sure people will want to see this.

The Long John Silvers location in West View, PA is absolutely disgusting. The tables are falling apart. The floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ten years. You can see through to the kitchen, and it's gross in there. There are always bugs flying around. The front counters are disgusting. The frozen lemonade machine is rusty and very dirty. And best of all, there is a leak in the ceiling tiles. The water comes down right on the condiment table, and all of the packets of sugar and melted together. Has no one thought to check that?

There have been numerous health code violations with the Allegheny Health Department, but they aren't making the changes they need to make to make the restaurant make me want to eat there ever again. How do I know that water isn't leaking from the ceiling in the kitchen and all over the food?

I think it recently changed hands, but even with the new employees, the place is still a mess. I'm pretty sure that if someone were to take pictures of this store, you, at LJS would be very upset. It is absolutely the nastiest chain restaurant I've ever seen.

Please do something about this location. It needs to be renovated. It looks the exact same as it did in the 90s, and probably the 80s. You have the money; put some into this location.

(saw news about never use crd cd thru window due to scamming). Door was locked at 8pm, only window open from 8-9p. (This place is 1/3 mile from SHSU and they close that early, no business due to poor service) I drove to order menu, asked for 2 dinners "sorry no slaw or corn"; it's Th at 8:15??? Ordered fries & hushpuppies, oK. Waited for slow delivery to one customer and got to window to see sign "no $100" Are you serious? Why wasn't that on the menu board. I've been here 15m and I'm not handing a c cd thru the window for you to copy. She shut the window. I found a change keeper and a 5 to come with the 13+. The trans fat wasn't burnt so the food was good.
From all of the above it looks like the corp needs an overhaul. One rotten potato spoils the whole bag and there seems to be several rotten ones.

Employees were running around trying to get stuff done and one lady from corporate kept nit picking the employees. I was in the lobby eating when she griped at an employee about her pants. the girl looked embarrassed when the lady walked off towards the front register. I asked the girl who the lady was and she said all she knew was her name was Sandy, she was a new employee. I don't think it's right to talk to employee like that in front of customers, being corporate level she should have known to make that a private matter not public. How are you suppose to keep employees when you scold them in front of customers? Very sad, You just lost my family and myself as customers.

  89. I just left your store at 1911 Ben White in Austin, Tx. I just wanted a piece of pie, so I went through the drive through. I asked if they still had pie because I didn't see it on the menu. The guy working the drive thru couldn't hear me so I repeated myself several times. I finally said, "do you have some kind of Hersey pie or something?" He said, "No that is Burger King". So I asked if they had some kind of chocolate pie. He said "Yes, but it isn't Hershey's". I said I just wanted chocolate pie, and if they had chocolate pie, that was what I wanted. He said "Ok. Second window" I pulled up, and he didn't look at me, just told me the amount and held his hand out while he and the two girls working with him made fun of me for asking for Hershey Pie. I tried to tell him I had asked about the pie because I didn't see it on the the menu, but he interrupted me and mumbled something. I would like to say this was the first bad experience I had there, but it isn't. I have had several incidents including waiting at the drive thru window for 40 minutes only for them to tell me they forgot my order.

  90. I live in Jacksonville FL off Beach Blvd & we have more chicken places thank you can cluck. We are chicken & hamburgered to death! There are several places on Beach Blvd & Kernan Blvd that would be perfect for a fast food fish place. Burger King, McDonalds; etc fish sandwiches are
nasty & do not taste like fish. You have 3 stores way on the other side of town. Too far to go. Looks like you would check out this area! You were running commercials for awhile, but not stores came. You would have more business than you would know what to do with. BELIEVE ME! Even with all the bad & I mean bad reviews, people around here are craving fast food fish.
Also it is not just LJS that has rude & uncaring employees. It seams to be the norm anywhere you go anymore. Walmart , Burger King; clothing stores. It comes from management. The mangers set the tone for what ever business they are employed by. I own the T-shirt & bumper sticker on that one & I'm 64yrs old; I know what go customer service is & bad mangers will do to a good employee. I have been working since I was 12yrs old, all in customer service. I've been a manger & supervisor. You can get more with honey than with vinegar, it's not what you say it is how you say it. Never worked in the food service business, had a friend that worked a full time job & nights at Burger King & I know food service is the hardest job you will ever do. Can't please everyone all the time, but you can keep your house clean.

  91. I really hope you believe this review as I am a REAL person who has nothing to gain by leaving this. Nor, do I know anyone who either works for LJS or ever has. I'm only posting because our experience at the 3550 Isleta [yelp didn't list this location so I'm posting here] location was so superior to any other LJS we've ever dined in. See my other Yelp reviews. You'll know by those I'm not being paid or compensated in any way for my thoughts.

I've eaten at LJS businesses all my life, all over the US in fact but THIS specific Isleta location was the BEST LJS food, or fried fish/shrimp in general, we've EVER eaten! Period! Apparently, this 3550 location was once joined with an A&W but they separated and LJS rebuilt new on/at the same location. I don't know what changed or if there's new LJS management present but something is CERTAINLY working there now!

The fish and shrimp were literal crispy perfection! Their fries SHAMELESSLY kicked McDonald's and Wendy's butts hands down! Their cole slaw, absolutely delectable! Oh ya, and the hush puppies were just as crazy phenomenonal as the superior service [by teenagers mind you!] and the cleanliness of this business! Folks, I can't even leave out the freshness of the iced tea! As we all know, that's ALWAYS a great indicator of either a good or bad restaurant and I swear that LJS 3550 Isleta is one of the good ones!

Lastly, if you haven't eaten at a LJS in a while, at least try this one specific location! If only to remind yourself of how much you once adored LJS crispy fried fresh fish with vinager and their juicy, succulent shrimp! If not, just pop your head in to see what I mean about the stellar cleanliness of the place and seriously, ring that bell if you agree with me!

  92. Just left LJS on S Western in Amarillo TX. It was so bad I actually griped out the manager in front of the other customers which is totally out of character for me. I thought I was going to get a standing ovation! The place was FILTHY!! I will be calling the health department in the morning. The crew was beyond incompetent, including the manager. We waited for thirty minutes for them to cook shrimp and then the fish they brought to us was cold. The fries were old and cold. They had no vinegar. The outdoor lights weren't on. The driveup intercom was broken so we had to go inside with sick kids. It was just awful. We will not be going back which is sad because we've been going there for twenty years.

  93. I took my sister, who is disabled and in bad health, to the LJS in Lynchburg, Va... She wanted lunch, so we went through the drive thru and got her meal, and a drink... When we got home, I emptied her cup, and rinsed it out.. I happened to notice something in the bottom of the cup... To my shock, it was black mold.... That can be deadly to her, in her condition... I will be taking the cup back there saturday, and I also posted pictures on face book.....

  94. Drove 15 miles each way to eat at the Queensbury NY Long Johns only to have the clerk tell me they cannot provide any food. What a crock of crap. Piss poor management if they have no food. Guess I won't waste my time going there anymore.

  97. Live in Charlottesville, VA and have eaten at LJS all my life really missed it when they closed down. Decided to drive to the closest one which is about an hour away. NEVER AGAIN!!! It is a KFC/LJS combined and the chicken is obviously cooked in the same grease as KFC special recipe tastes just like KFC. So greasy it was TERRIBLE!!! The fries were wedges NOT LJS fries. Cole slaw was KFC. ALL condiments were KFC. Such a disappointment still wondering if anyone from LJS ever visits this place they are ruining the LJS name in this area!!!!

  98. So I was going to leave a comment about how filthy the ljs in harrisonburg va was, and how the staff was playing on their phones instead of tending to any of the many needs of the store, but after reading the comments on here I see corporate is not addressing these issues. Based on how few people were in the store when I was there im surprised they are even open. I'll be one less customer.

  99. Store #31656 or 2220 Lebanon Church Road Westmifflin Pennsylvania 412-653-9993 This is a reply back to Courtney who ever you are? No.......a free meal falls very short of fixing your unit to a level of cleanliness for me to consider ever returning. Do you actually believe that I need or am looking for a free meal? A free meal does not fix your black painted, water marked ceiling, front entrance broken door, very filthy and in dis-repair bathrooms. Why would I want to get another piece of fish that is one quarter of an inch thick, which is disgusting in it's quality. Blow off batter, greasy taste and cold is not my idea of a good reason to ever come back there again. Courtney, I don't know what level of responsibility you hold in Long John Silvers because when you give just your name, it does not mean that much. It reflects an unprofessional-ism that continues show a lack of skill to address the real problems of this unit. This unit is dirty and the food quality is of poor quality. If you ever seen the need and get something done to make this store look and perform professionally, than give me a call once it is ready and I will come check things out. This store needs someone to give it a face lift to fix the "Stripper Club appearance". I am ashamed to say that I worked for Long John Silvers when I see the lack of investment in the building, employees and food quality at this unit. labst21@yahoo.com

  100. I visited store #024569 location in Fort Myers,FL and it was horrible. I ordered the fresh fish and was told I would get what was up because the fryers was down because the store closed in 15 mins. I asked who was the manger and was told I am and his name was "Dylan" I ask him if he was the store manger and once again was told yes and if I wanted the fish place the order. I ask how long has the fish had been up and was told "maybe" 30mins and I didn't have to order if I had too many questions. I was put back from this and just drove anyway. This Long John Silver is the worst ever. and if you don't ask for fresh food when you do get it its like eating fish rubber. your sides are always cold and the popcorn shrimp that my children had was all breading and no shrimp. and you sat in the drive thru for 20 minutes and ended up with nasty food. This is the last time that I eat long john silver. its so unprofessional dirty and the food quality is of poor quality.

  102. I went to the farmington, missouri location tonight. It was by far the worst experience. I spent almost $11 on 1 meal. That's alot for one meal. The food was horrible! The fish was so greasy you couldn't eat it. The fries and hushpuppies were cold. Yuck! The roof of my mouth was a grease pit from eating 2 bites of the fish. Done with this place!

  103. Store 31631. 2-2-15
We decided given the evening had gotten away from us to stop at the Long John/ A&W store located at Sterling/Noland Road in Kansas City off I-70. It was 6:48 when we pulled into the drive through with one car in front of us. It took ten minutes for us to move up to the order board. We waited for five more minutes for someone to return and take our order. Our order was completed slowly and ended with my personal pet peeve of "Is that all" and we pulled around to the window and still behind that one car now ten minutes plus later. We waiting approximately two minutes to move to the window. We watched the disinterested cashier/order take muddle around for a minute before opening the window to say $24.83(by the way that price for two meals means we will never return to any Long John). Wow, inflation has certainly hurt the ability to be competitive at this store. Anyway, I handed her our card and she ran it returning it to me without a single word. Closed the window and started looking into the production window for our food. She packed and unpacked it several times. Our food sat on that counter for five minutes while she bounced around finally making her way to the "swirl" machine to make our ice cream treat. While she was doing that the other person working the inside counter came over and began looking through our bag of food briefly before opening the window to hand it to me. I asked her to please check and see that we had everything in our ridiculously priced order so we wouldn't be missing anything. She said yes it is all there. I asked for our missing drinks. She handed me one drink and the swirl and said that completes our order. I looked in the bag and said, I have asked twice to have some tartar sauce, ketchup and salt please. We got home exhausted and disgusted with the fact that we sat in that drive through for now, Not fresh food experience from 6:48 until 7:15pm when we received our order. Can you imagine. In the realm of life, a very insignificant experience. However, we can have that mediocre experience anywhere. We chose to try your business. Now at home for dinner. The food was cold, lettuce wilted on burger. Definitely the fish was passed its recommended "hold time". Soggy fries and onion rings and cheese curds with hard cheese in them. Mmmmm.. missing one of our drinks, no ketchup and pretty grossed out by the overall experience. I don't even care that we were shorted our drink because who cares. I do care that no one is managing this store with some sort of expectations for a good customer experience in hopes of sales retention. We for all practical purposes weren't returning, we were new business now to never return. My cashiers name was Brandy L according to my receipt and if she wasn't feeling well which sometimes happens she should have been sent home and replaced by a quick moving, interested, smiling person at that window. And my gosh, whatever is going on back in the kitchen area.. help us all. I will say this, I noticed a small yellow sign on the window that said "We drug test, so if you do drugs, don't apply". Lol, hmmm....all said and done, the very bottom of my receipt says, Thank You Please Come Again Soon. Really.

  104. A store just recently reopened in Radford Va. In the last two months I have attempted to eat from this store but each time I have yet to order. The first time the line for ordering was almost out the door and after 15 minutes I realized there was no one at the counter taking orders. ALL of the employees were in the kitchen area trying to put together the orders of the 8 people that already had ordered myself and several other patrons left. The second time 2/6/15 it was almost the exact same situation except this time they had some one taking orders. On the counter there were two trays with food and at least nine receipts aligned across the counter. I watched as approximately 9 patrons that had already paid for and had been waiting for there food watched this food get cold as an employee attempted to count the pieces of chicken, fish and sides on these trays in an attempt to determine who the orders belonged to. Again I left and because I never placed a order I do not have a receipt to give a store number but if it helps this store is in Radford VA and recently replaced the one lost to fire. I did enjoy the food of the last store that was there and I would really like to try the food of the new store if I can ever get a order placed. This store needs training for it's managers and employees.

  105. I went to an LJS drive-thru today here in TX and both orders were missing 3 shrimp (6 total) on the 2 platters we ordered & paid for. I went to find an online way to complain, but each time I entered the store number on my receipt as instructed I was told the number is not valid. I re-checked the number of the store per the LJS site itself - it was the same # as I entered earlier - and copied & pasted it directly into the form and I was told again the number which THEY SUPPLIED TO ME was invalid.

I searched high & low, on their site & via google, and there are no other means whatsoever - nada - of contacting this company which is pretty scary. What if there were an emergency with food poisoning? It's disturbing - and doesn't speak well for the brand's reputation & longevity - that corporate headquarters simply refuses to take complaints or for that matter any other feedback at all from the people whose business they'd presumably prefer to keep so they can keep getting paid. It's a genuinely odd strategy for a company working in a highly competitive sector under challenging economic conditions to adopt. What business school did these people attend?

Because at Long John Silvers Inc, it seems not only is the customer never right, the customer is never wrong either because the customer doesn't even exist to them! Out of sight out of mind, so if nobody can complain or offer suggestions to corporate management, then everything must be hunky dory & they can rate their performances highly & pass out hefty bonuses to themselves, right? Great gig if you can get it, I guess.

On the bright side, after the privately held LJS goes bankrupt because its negligent management team inexplicably chose to completely ignore the needs & opinions of the very customers whose longtime patronage financially underwrote the generous salaries of everyone in the executive suite, Long John Silvers should make one heck of a humdinger of a case study at Harvard B School.

  106. I just ordered food at the Long John Silvers located at 17721 FM 529 Rd, Houston, TX 77095-1007. This location also has a Taco Bell in conjunction with it. The service was terrible. I am not sure whether these are privately owned or not, but they are using your corporate name and if I were you I'd be real upset. The service on a scale of one to ten would be a minus 5. First there was no one working the counter inside. The young lady working the drive thru did acknowledge me and said someone would be with me shortly. After she called back to the back several times finally someone came. I placed my order and asked for two side orders of corn, but was told they didn't have any corn. I waited and waited for my order while the drive thru window continued to be served. I understand if this was rush hour, but this was prior to the heavy evening traffic. I counted 11 employees and it was a three ring circus. While waiting for my order I thought I'd expedite things by asking for some tartar sauce. The young lady says "oh I'm sorry we don't have any tartar sauce". That's like going to Mass on Sunday and the priest says " I'm sorry we don't have any host today for communion", now come on! The place was also dirty inside. If I were paying 11 employees, even at minimum wages, I would expect better service and a cleaner establishment. Someone needs to take a look, because I don't think there is any management or direction and it is a poor reflection on LJS. .

  107. I visited the League City, Texas location last night. Only 2 workers working at approximately 8:30 PM. One girl was trying to manage the drive thru the other guy was manning the kitchen and took time to take my order at the counter. I asked him where everyone was and he said this is it. He also stated that the night shift manager did not even show up. I have to commend these 2 hardworking individuals for a job well done. However for that low life of a manager I hope you get fired. The wait was long and the food was terrible at best but given the circumstances I cannot blame the people working. Won't go back there!!!!

  111. February 27, 2015... Store number 32033 in Joliet, IL at 8:50pm... Tonight is the 2nd Friday in Lent and this store was completely unprepared for the onslaught of business... but this is NOT a new restaurant. This place has been here as long as I can remember. So, seeing that Lent happens every single year, you would expect that they would be ready for this... well- NO! I pulled into the drive thru with easily 10-12 cars in front of me. We waited in line probably about 25 minutes before 2 members of my family got out and went inside. They were able to order the food and pay for it... and then another 30-35 minutes went by before we received our food. When I pulled out of line there was still 7-8 cars ahead of me and another 5 behind. Inside the restaurant we had another 5-6 people ahead of us waiting for their food. There were 2 employees at the cashier and only 3 in the kitchen. They were completely overwhelmed. But they were completely untrained also. Their customer service was horrendous. They did not once give eye contact, nor answer any questions when asked how much longer it would be. No response! We will definitely NOT be back. This is the only "Fish" fast food restaurant in Joliet, Il, but we will simply eat at home or get something else during this time of the year! I mean... it's lent people. Get your act together. Of course they're going to get more business than usual, but you'd think they'd have been prepared for that. It's completely unprofessional.

  112. I'm curious as to why you think it's ok to have family members as a district manager and a store manager. A friend of mine was fired today from your store in Coshocton, Ohio without "just cause" because your store manager doesn't like him due to a personal difference, and the district manager fired him because the two of them are cousins, and he took his word over something that happened over my friend's. You cannot fire somebody without "just cause", and you CERTAINLY can't fire them because of "hear say". The district manager's name is Cody, and the store manager's name is Gage Thomas. Nobody I know will EVER eat in that restaurant again until something is done about this! I wouldn't be surprised if you don't hear from somebody's attorney over this! NO RELATIVES SHOULD BE WORKING TOGETHER IN MANAGEMENT POSITIONS.............EVER!!!

I called to say that my order was not only wrong but cold and she just hung up on me. Then when I went into the store to confront her she just turned around and walked away. I have witnessed her disrespecting employees to the point where they just walked out. I will NEVER eat there again until that store is under new management

We waited about five minute for someone to wait on us and when we ordered he yelled back to kitchen to place part of oder and did not tell us onion rings were an extra cost. We waited ten minutes for our oder. Looks like since they don't do much business all orders are done when placed. Everything was way over done. The onion rings were uneatable. The place was dirty at the drink and condiment stuff and the floor was dirty and sticky. One of the female employees keep hollering at us when getting drinks and asking if we got enough root beer.

We live in a different area and the manager said that he would take care of it and give me another meal when I went back, That is not the point. It was discussing and not wanting to go back.

  122. 3/27. We stopped in Chambersburg, PA at your LJ Silver's. When we entered two women were placing their order. The cashier was writing their order down on paper. Cash register not working. She used a calculator to add up the total for the order, take the cash and again, calculate the change. She handed the order to the kitchen behind her. The ladies waited at least 20 minutes before their order finally came out. We were next and went through the same thing. We tried to order coffee and were told they didn't do coffee. The girl taking orders was very patient under the conditions. She was, also, preparing drink orders and running to ask questions about what people were ordering. When we got our order, we had a hard time finding a clean table. I tried to send you a message on your site, but couldn't because I had no cash register receipt . Needless to say, this was not an enjoyable experience and very time consuming when traveling. Something should be done to improve this restaurant's service as it's not a good representative of your usual clean, cheerful restaurants. No bell ringing.

I have been a long time Long Johns Silvers Customer since the mid 70's never had a problem until today. I stopped in the LJS on 74th & Douglas in Urbandale, used a Customer Satisfaction Survey (all stars btw), and the elderly woman (D) behind the counter said, "when was the last time you used one of these," I said it's been over a month, ok no problem, right?
    (D) said again "how Lonnng"? I said over a month. She stated multiple times you must wait 6 weeks. Wrong, the survey said one month. She then asked for my name to write on the survey, at this point I am started to get slightly miffed. Someone else brought out my meal, and no receipt, must have gotten thrown away, that's a first for me at any LJS. The customer in line in front of me sat at an adjacent table, one of the polite workers asked if everything was all right, he said Im missing a hushpuppy, the guy went back and quickly brought out two for him, great customer service! As he went back behind the counter the same woman commented "what was his problem", . . . and then something about "Im sure I gave him two hushpuppies", and mumbled something else under her breath.

So I felt like Im not the only one she was being rude to today.

I managed a grocery store in the late 80's and customer service was everything, I always wanted the customer feel that we went above and beyond the normal service.
and I would make right on any return or problem they had, they would leave my store with a smile on there face.

Here's hoping the Franchise owner or store manager sees this and actually cares about customer service, and Long John Silver's good name.
Management neeeeds to get (D) some further training on simple customer courtesy.

Still a lifetime Long John Silvers fan.

  130. I stopped at at store 31761 in Chambersburg,Pa at approximately 6:05pm. I went through the drive thru, which has no communication through the speakers. You have to drive up to the window to place an order. After waiting approximately 5 minutes behind two other vehicles, I decided to go inside to order.I waited another 10 minutes or so before being waited on by a very non social cashier. I ordered the number 8 with extra planks of chicken. I heard in the back, "we have no shrimp ready". So I waited. I eventually got my food approximately 10 minutes later and was able to go home. A 5 minute drive from the restaurant. Upon getting home, frustrated with the amount of time I had to wait for my food, I opened the bag and "tray" the food was served on. Only to find the shrimp I waited so long for was not breaded at all. It was fried with no breading. It was tough. I'm guessing from frying without any breading. Secondly, I dug out the extra chicken planks I ordered. These were no wider than two of my fingers together and about as long as my index finger. Hardly worth the extra money paid for them. I bit in to one and it was like I was back in grade school, chewing my baseball glove waiting for a batter to hit.The breading was hard and the chicken was like leather. Obviously had them under the warming lights way too long. I had eaten at this restaurant only a few times this year but this was, by far, the worst food I've had at this restaurant, or any restaurant within a 50 mile radius. Highly doubtful I patronize this establishment again. I will be warning my friends they are taking a risk in going there also.I do hope the corporation would see to a reimbursement of the $13.53 I paid for my meal. 131. Hello,

I was wondering if you will ever open another restaurant in the Gaithersburg (MD) and or Frederick area? There used to be one in Lakeforest Mall and it was some of the best fish I have ever eaten!! Delicious!!

The other location used to be in Frederick in a mall that is now closed.

If there is any possibility of bringing one back to the Gaithersburg, MD area I think that would be great! Thank you for listening, keep up the good work and have a good day!

    Take care.
