    On Saturday, August 27, 2011 at approximately 6pm I went to shop at WalGreens located at 38th and High School Road. I bought razors and ice cream. I asked the clerk to get the razors for me because they were locked. After she got them she said, "I'll sit them on the cash register while you shop." I said, "I can carry my own razors." She said the store policy would not let me carry my razors around. We argued about this situation and she said she'd call the Asst. Manager. The Asst. Manager came. I told him that I can carry my own razors. He said, "Its against our store policy to allow that." I said, "That's the most racist policy I've heard of in my life." Other stores I've shopped at did not have that policy. There is a large concentration if Blacks and Latinos in that area, and I was called a thief. The Asst. Manager said,"Don't pull the race card on me." I said, "Ok, let me see your policy." He said, "It wasn't written it was just 'understood' as an unwritten policy." I said, "There are things in this store that cost 5-10x's more than some $8.99 no frills razors. Why don't you have a policy stating we can't carry those items around the store?" I understand having the razors locked, but once I want to buy a pack I shouldn't be demeaned by telling me I can't carry merchandice around while I shop for other items. I was highly insulted and appalled not only as a man, but as a Black man with a career and that is a law abiding citizen. Eventually, he did allow me to carry my razors. I'm a grown man in my late 40's. I was highly insulted.

    I shop at WalGreens a lot. I probably spend $100 a month at your store. I do understand that's a drop in the buckect compared to what others spend. However, if racist policies continue to occur I will spend my hard earned cash elsewhere and let people know the insensitivity of WalGreen's corporations and stores. I hope this issue is resolved. Some Walgreens have a very high theft rate and they put these policies in affect to help out other customers.because when people steal every one else has to suffer because prices will go up. don't blame walgreens because of this policy. blame other people to come to the store and steal merchandise.I am black and there is no race card here.

    4. Over the edge! The other evening I went to the usual Walgreens and bought only a couple things and wanted $5.00 cash back. Simple thing right? WRONG!! anywhere else one goes and wants cash back thats the first thing that pops up on the card swipe device. NOT AT WALGREENS! NO THEY HAVE A HEART DONATION THERE INSTEAD AND IF YOU DONE LOOK VERY CAREFULLY, YOU CAN EASILY MAKE A GENEROUS DONATION TO THE HEART FOUNDATION AND NOT GET ANY CASH BACK!     5. You need to contact the corporate office with a hard copy/snail mail to really get a honest response. Companies really respond to that a lot better. I write a lot and found that to be more true then email or this. Every state is different with policies. Here in Wisconsin razors are out in the open for consumers to grab. I understand where your coming from and it is not right for them to deny you the razors as you go about shopping. Good Luck.

    8. I would like to know why it's so difficult to obtain my medications monthly that I need for 6 back operations. I am tired of doing the Walgreens hunt every month. I am tired of being stressed every month if I am going to be able to get them. I NEED these meds for a quality of life,from what my pharmacist tells me she is very embarrassed to keep telling the customers that they don't have anything and they are behind and several orders were actually cancelled by Walgreens. Who the HELL decides this? I am going to start going to a smaller pharmacy from now on. after 17 yrs Walgreens you have lost a valued customer because Walgreens just doesn't care. I live in Fla and it's not my fault about the pill mills and the crooked Dr's and the drug addicts that come from up North.

  2. On 7/16/11 I had two perceptions filled one for 10mg of XXXXXX and 20mg of XXXXXX I took the perceptions home and placed them in the lineup of pills I have to take each morning. I started having issues and I sought medical attention on the 08/11/11 at which time I was taken out work. On the 08/25/11 while checking may perceptions I discovered that they had filled the 20mg had been filled twice so I had been taking 40mg a day instead of 30mg a day. I contacted District Manager for the store at 7221 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL32205. I was told that I would be contacted by your insurance company within 48 hours because I have incurred monetary and personal loses due to this error. I have not been contacted at all. I have now decided that if I am contacted by 09/05/11 I will seek legal representation and I will place a bumper sticker on my truck that says “Let me tell you how a Walgreen’s pharmacy messed up my prescription and what it cost me.   3. my name is tim gutilla. i used to go to the walgreens in stephens city va.my perscriptions are 240 15mg roxicodone,and 60 opana 10mg.i get name brand.i have a wrecked back and have been taking pain meds for going on 5 yrs now.i turn my scripts in anywhere from 2 to 9 days early.when it's my day to pick them up for 6 months straight they consistently do not have my scripts ready.one time it was 4 days late.when i asked why they said that they could only call my workers comp rep on the day it was to be filled that they could not get my scripts approved in advance.i take a some pretty potent stuff and should never run out but they could care less.i took my scripts to rite aid 2 days before i was to get them and got them on time.and now use rite aid.at my walgreens they change the people around so much and they are getting younger and younger.bottom line is i'll NEVER use walgreens again

  4. Flier for Walgreens had "Holiday" items referenced 36 times and the term Christmas was completely removed from the advertisements and I will drive further and pay more to shop where Christmas hasn't been removed from the season.

  5. I have been working with a young man, Brian Kemp,at the Walgreen store at HWY 54 and Dean Dairy Road in Zephyrhills, FL. He has assisted me in developing DVDs for my grandchildren for Christmas. First he has a great knowledge of the procedure, has instructed me to accomplish 4 DVDs with 4 more to go. In addition to providing me support to accomplish this I've seen him do multiple tasks in the store especially to improve the store's appearance. I am retired and I thought "wow" I would have loved to have an individual like Brian to have worked for me. You are lucky to have him on your staff. He is probably the most efficient employee I've dealt with in this area for the past four years....Go Brian.....A very happy customer.

They let my brother script for sim[;e pain med and anxiety medication for 3 days each time he called for a status they gave him no solid reasonable reason why it was taking so long, this is not the first time either it has also happened to me and other friends,family too. they should not even call them self a pharmacy! when I pulled the script back there was noting written on it it was just sitting for days they alrady had received dr. approval. I went to winn Dixie pharmacy and within 15 min or less walked out with my script. SOME ADVICE DO NOT GO TO WALGREENS PHARMACY BECAUSE THEY ARE A TOTAL DISGRACE I AM REPORTING THIS TO THE CONSUMERS AGENCY AS WELL AND I WILL NOT GO ANONYMOUS, BECAUSE THIS IS ALL TRUE! THEY ARE THE WORSE PHARMACY AND I WOULDN'T RECOMEND THEM TO A DYING DOG!

Walgreens Dist Center in Waxahachie Tx is very very unfair to their employee's they state that they have the open door policy when in fact all they care abt is making their numbers and managment getting their bonuses They over work you. And there turn around is outrageous i worked there for 8 years and was terminated unjustly.... it really is a joke there is so much oppression its not even real..... Hr never returns calls and they are not allowed to talk with the people on the floor Scott T has made that place a joke...... When Chris J was there people got the work done and actually enjoyed their job..... Mike N. and Renee J are a joke to selfish think they know it all yet do nothing for their emplyee's except fault find... Maybe you need to find out what is really happening at that DC make suprise visits they allways know when ya are coming and of course the race is on to make everything perfect when in truth the rest of the time it is a mess... they have no compassion on the human race if it is not to their benefit ya really need to get some real upper managment in there and also change the Hr staff they have been there to long and are very rude to people.... I also shop at Walgreen a lot, but one night i went into the Walgreen in Anoka main MN, i had a coupon for 10 dollars off, i was trying to look for something that I could buy for 30 bucks and get my $10. off,to my surprise there was call for someone to follow me everywhere i went there was this kid following me,I have heard many blacks, Latinos taking about Walgreen been a racist place but this was the first time I really notice this, Walgreen is a racist company, you do not respect no other race beside white,it is wrong,I am a nurse, am black do not judge me because of the color of my skin, what make you think that all Latinos and black or non white people that come in your store is there to take stuff, show some respect to us, you need to stop this or you are going to loss us nonwhite as customer's. the next time i go to a Walgreen store I will take a recorder to prove my point and put it on the news.

  9. Walgreens sucks. They are making major cuts. Tomorrow is either my wife's last day or she can take a different position losing $2 an hour. And who knows what kind of hours she would get. I am a walgreens employee and i feel i was verbally atacked by one of my managers(ms.hefner)at store 6959 yesterday on 4 6 2012 i am hurt and very upset about this....she asked me not to do something again so i didnt and she verbally attacked about it... and sent me home early which is a loss of hours that i cannot afford to miss...i do not appreciate this action she took while on the sales floor instead of the office where matters should be taken care of...please rsvp to ms.goodson as soon as possible thanx and have a great day

    Why is there no Walgreen's in Morton, Il? Here is a city of almost 17,000 people and no Walgreen's. The nearest is in East Peoria which is 10 miles away. There is prime property in Morton, close to the interstate and close to Walmart. We have a CVS, K-Mart and Walmart..all of which have no drive through service. Please look into this..I have written to your company before but to no avail. We need a Walgreen's!!!

    We have been a landscape vendor for the Meridian, MS store for approximately two years now with no issues (store #07580). We were recently told our services were no longer needed so that a company out of Jackson, MS (90 minutes away) could take over as the landscape contractor for the two Meridian, MS stores. You decided to do away with local vendors; people from the same population that you depend on to keep you in business. Instead, you gave the business to a vendor in Jackson, MS who will never send his friends or family to your stores in our area to do business. I understand as a corporate giant you could care less about the little guy or even the local guy....it is all about the ease of writing one check as opposed to many. However, in the defense of myself and the other local contractor you kicked to the curb for the ease of accounting, I would like to say that you should greatly consider removing your so called "Community Commitment" portion from your website. You have no intention of being part of our community and your actions will definitely be known among our friends at the local chamber of commerce. We feel it necessary to educate them on how Walgreens conducts local business, so that more of them will be aware and will be more inclined to use our local pharmacies.

    1. well walgreens. i have had some pharmacists fired in two states i lived in because of abuse of customers. .that felt very good as they were evil and pretty downright mean and a buillies. i am abused myself in many of the stores in my area and other places i have lived in this country, and i have been abused on the telephone by walgreens, and try to speak with corporate? forget it. a customer service witch will give you a ration of abuse and bullying and then hang up on you if you complain about it....
      i have bought many medical devices for many or my clients and i have NEVER found one that worked right. i have had to return hundreds of items, usually pulse oximeters, bp machines both wrist and arm of all types, and other medicl devices. i have found that boxes were returned and put back on the shelf. i marked one to see if my suspicions are correct and they sure are. so now i always make sure when i have to return something that did not work right out of the box, i do something to prove it when i go back and see it on the shelf. a few times i got one that i had returned due to non working status. only two managers in two stores told me that they are always getting most of them back due to defects and that they even discontinue carrying them, whichever devices he found to be always returned for defects, and he told me which not to buy, but all brands seem to be dumping their rejects and reconed items as walgreens might just get items at a huge discount to carry and sell reconditioned and no sell in other stores due to problems. how is that one.... intresting huh? it is disgusting and i see it with many many companies all the way up to big medical equipment, just to save a buck?? and put people in jeapordy? and the vendors do that massive buy out from stores of their no sell items and returns and then the vendor or distributor sells them to stores at a discount. what a scam! i wish the gov was not involved with so much of the scams as it will never investigate things like this and seems to be involved in the kickback game, IN MY OPINION, MY EDUCATED OPINION. check it out for yourself. see how many are returns and open boxes, and medical equipment which should NEVER be resold....... this is a first world country acting like a fourth world country.

  13. I am following the story in Lowell Ma regarding the new Wallgreens and it's refusal to hook a sewer line in for over 1000+ soccer kids next to their new store. This was on the table with your builder and now he refuses to tie in. These bathrooms overflow and cannot be used during the week. This has become a major political issue in this City because the president of Lowell Youth Soccer is a City Councilor. There are letters to the Editor, bloggers are writing about what a poor corporate co Wallgreens is and they will not patronize your store. I for one will be taking my business elsewhere. I have been a customer with your pharmacy since you opened your store on Plain st and I use the Walgreens in Jupiter Florida, this will stop. This is a PR nightmare for Walgreens, with all your money you can't tie in a sewer line in order to make a 1000 kids plus their parents and families happy. Do the right thing, your builder is not doing your reputation any favors by acting in such a stubborn way. This is causing a lot of bad publicity for your company. CVS anyone!!!

I have been verbally attacked by employees and belittled by them , as a customer who uses coupons, do not tell your customers they are thieves and refuse their coupons!!! You are paid by the companies for the products...make sure your employees understand what the policy is. It is a disgrace for your company to even have illiterate cashiers who think they can demean your customers and then can not even count change!! I am on many blogs that say how great you all are when it comes to couponers....well, I am personally emailing all of them and hope to boycott your stores completely! My local news stations are also being notified of how you treat customers on a daily basis! CVS is much better and more intelligent staff!

On tuesday morning on May 1st 2012 i went into the walgreens in north miami beach on 167 street and ask the manager or assistant manager what time the pharmacy open and both of their attitude was very poor they were very nasty and i plan to take this further i have never been inside that store in more than 10 years i usually use the drive thru i wish i never went in there today.

  18. I went into a Ft. Laud 'take care' center today to have my blood pressure monitored. The nurse that I usually see was on vacation in 'Prague'. The person that was filling in (not sure that she was a nurse never identified herself) refused to take my blood pressure. She said that I have been there two or three times in the past and they have a policy on how many times blood pressure can be taken for free. I would have paid her to help me as I'm trying to get the blood pressure under control, but she was very dismissive. I know my blood pressure went up after my encounter with this individual. Thanks a lot Walgreens. I'll be sure to tell all my friends and relatives who I informed about this new 'take care' clinic.....not to bother to go!

  19. i made a huge mistake when i opted for automatic refills at walgreeens, I was still calling in my prescriptions and picking them up at a local walgreens so thought the auto refill was not going to happen, BUT on March 18 I called in for my advair, got a reply that there were insurance problems, called back a few days later and was told that i had picked it up on the 20th of march. it wasn't me and in trying to resolve this issue I talked to 4 people who told me the same, I think I should tell you that I live in
    florida and the delivery place is in Arizona.
    since then i have made numerous calls to get off the auto refill, the website shows that auto refill is off and I have been reassured that I will not be getting anything unless i call it in, since then I have received two medications that i didn't order. Is there anyone at walgreens who has half a brain and knows what they are doing ??? if so, i sure would like to know about it. I won't even go in a walgreens store anymore . Disappointed and very angry in Florida

  20. I just returned from Walgreens #06672 at 909 David Drive in Metairie. I was there to return a product that I purchased last week. There was only one cashier working. The person in front of me had a coupon for $1.00 off of the product she was purchasing; however, the cashier did not know how to ring up the coupon and had to call the manager. Her call was not answered. She tried again and said she did not know how to do it and would have to get help. Finally the assistant manager, Chad, came to the register They finally got it to work for her but he had to go get his key to do my refund. After he walked off, the cashier, Shelley, proceeded to take the next customer in line. I asked her "Can't you do this?" She mouthed off to me in a very loud voice. I told her that she had a really bad attitude and was very rude. By this time the assistant manager returned and told me that they always take the next customer in line when they have to wait on something for the current transaction. He also had a very bad attitude and I told him so. His reply was, "look, I am doing this and I'm off the clock". I told him that it was not my fault and he should not speak to me in such a manner. I won't be going back to Walgreens.
