    1. The same thing happened to me last year. I was put on final notice for a forklift violation and then harassed until they found a reason to fire me. They even tried to make up things I didn't even do a few months before I was terminated. I never called in and was always on time. I bent over backwards many times for the company and even threw a vest over my workout clothes when I was asked if I wanted to work as I was in the break room checking my schedule. So instead of going to the gym after checking my schedule I worked for 6 hrs because the flooring associate called in. They also harass employees that are hourly and have been with the company a while so they can get someone else in there spot making less money. A zone manager where I was employed at the Decatur,Alabama store named Brian Walker who had harassed female associates there was caught by another employee last year placing poison in certain areas of the store to kill birds that were flying in from the garden center. Everyone knows about this, but yet nothing was done about it because he's buddy buddy with the store manager John Barksdale. That same zone manager also has a group of associates that he parties with at his house. Everyone knows about that too,but yet he's still employed there. The store manager John goes to the Station Bar and Grill in Madison, Alabama and gets drunk with certain associates and comes to work everyday with his face bloodshot red. All this can be proven and everyone knows about these things and there still employed there. Lowe's treats there employees horrible, it's a terrible place to work and something like this should be done about things like this that go on in there stores. I have worked non stop since I was 15 yrs old. I'm a very hard worker, never called in and have never gotten fired from a job up until last year. At 34 yrs old I am still unemployed and looking for work. I worked for Lowe's twelve years and was treated like total garbage the last few years I was there.

    2. i was let go from a seasonal job with them in texas after i was told that i was perm. they found out that they couldnt"afford" to pay us and made up that i was never at work i missed one week because i was in the hospital with my baby brother who was shot in the head and passed away but came right back to work after the released his body from the hospital they dont seem like they care about our personal life like we dont have a life out side of lowes i was the best in the store and there was alot of people who are turning that store into trash! good luck with keeping your store in killeen texas its going to fall apart!

      Delete
    3. I'm very sorry to hear about your baby brother and I can honestly say that in my 19 yrs of having a job I was never harassed or treated as badly as I was at the Decatur, Alabama store the last few years I was there. All Lowe's stores should be boycotted.

      Delete
    4. They harass, bully and run off most of the employees that work hard and then treat the ones who don't work at all like gold. That figures because most of the ones that slack off are the same employees brown nosing the store managers. Also, most of the specialists get away with murder as long as there making there sells.

    5. the reason they like letting people go who have been there a long time is so the store manager gets a bigger annual bonus. That's the same reason why when you go into most Lowe's stores they are so short handed and understaffed. It means a bigger bonus for the store manager. If Lowe's could have there way everyone in there stores would be making 7 dollars per hour except the store manager. Things like this is why more and more people are leaving Lowe's and going to Home Depot, and this is also a big reason why Home Depot's number 1 and Lowe's is number 2. I hope all Lowe's stores go out of business one day and all the greedy high dollar making store managers all loose there jobs.

  3. To the guy who was just let go. Here is a great example where your performance is "unexceptable." First, the word is unacceptable. Second, the use of punctuation would help greatly towards your complaint. Third, "i" as a pronoun is always capitalized.

Is it any wonder you were let go when you cannot even write a simple, clear sentence?

    1. wow who cares how he spelled anything! your attitude sucks he has a valid problem and all you look at is his spelling lol really wait until they let you go and you have a family to take care of bet you wont be worried about if your "i" is capitalized ugh

    2. well wise azz, in that case it just might be unacceptable that you seem to have a problem with your own decimal key.

This is not an english class and this guy had a valid issue here. Your response to this shows how shallow you are and crude. You sound like a company boy, wake up and look at both sides of the issue before you give your stupid remarks. So much for your education.

  6. Dear Anonymous Writer,

    Re: Oct 27, 2011 @4:13pm

For your information! I happen to know a store manager "the store manager"! at a Lowe's store in the Inland Empire, who needs to take an english class, because her grammar sucks! and she's a store manager!
I going to bite my tongue for your crude remarks - shame on you!

If the moral in your stores were better, your bottom line would reflect it!

  8. I have a complaint about one of your stores in Philadelphia. I went to the store with my 2 grandsons and one had crutches. I told the other one to get him a motorized cart and I went to the ladies room. when I returned he was just standing there and the employee said that an STATE ID was needed to ride in the motorized cart in your store. I was like where the hell are we, on the Eway???? I really think that was cruel to a disabled person (no matter what age) and further more we came into your store as customers and was treated like ..... think about it?????

    ReplyDelete
  9. I hope these complaints are being read by someone at corporate!
I can't believe the anonymous comment that was posted yesterday about the
    motorized cart - that's ridiculous!!
If I were that person and was there to place a special order, I would have walked out and gone to The Home Depot!

  11. I am very upset with Lowe's service in Colonial Heights Virginia. I have used Lowes services for years while I lived in NC for my rental property - never ever had an issue. Not so in VA! Horrible, horrible delivery service. delivery guys were late, didn't know what they were doing, mucked up the washer. Lowes made it right and asked if they would "keep my business". I let them have a 2nd chance but no more. Delivery scheduled for 4-6 No call till 9pm. Forget it! I cancelled the sale and am off to Home Depot!

  12. The bottom line is that this is a corporation. Their main focus is to stock warehouse style stores full of the supplies they advertise toward an audience with a need, then sell them at "competitive" prices. Nothing in that implies they actually care one way or another about the morale of the employees or whether or not you, the individual consumer, felt you received enough of a red carpet treatment while you were there. Due to their size they are able to undercut prices at local hardware stores and choke out competition making them the only logical choice in today's deplorable economy. So, much like our government, they remain in power because we the, economically concerned, don't have a better option. This applies to competition such as Home Depot, who due to financial agreements, either settle on the same price for something of the same brand or sell a different brand altogether. This ensures that both stores accomplish the same goal, appear to be rivals, and catch the flow of dissatisfied customers that will inevitably leave each store to pursue a "better experience" at the other. So, before any more complaints or suggestions are posted on this forum, just remember that the person being paid to sort through them probably cares even less than the soulless corporate businessmen who are likely to never hear about you, or this post.

  13. 14 months and two HORRIBLE delivery experiences with Lowes. As a consumer, I documented the first experience to store manager and district manager and never received any type of response. Here I am 14 months later, pulling out a copy of the first letter so I can send to corporate with a new letter regarding hte two days I have wasted waiting for a delivery that has not shown up. The store manager is rude and not helpful with a simple "nothing I can do about it". It is clear why Lowes offers FREE delivery, they cannot charge this bad service.

  15. I got injured at one of yours lowes that shut down and am on a 5 lb weight limit and im out of work and Lowes want even rehire me to a different location because of my 5 lb weight limit, is this how you treat you employees and what should i do?

  16. Think twice about buying a Lowe's gift card. I bought one for $50 but the cashier only recognized the card being worth $8. After several lengthly discussions with the store and a subsequent visit to the store to speak with the manager and after I produced my receipt I was able to recieve the remainder of what I was entitled. But why go through the hassle and incovenience of using a gift card? Why take the chance of buying one...better just to skip it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't know what the hell the lot of you are complaining about. It's a corporation, not your down the street locally owned hardware store. The employees are paid rock bottom, because the customers want to pay rock bottom prices.

Bottom line, if you want better customer service, and better service in general, go to the small independent hardware store owner - because they care about your business on a local level. Lowes, HD, and bigger corps can not deliver that kind of service because they are tailoring their service to the masses. If you have so much to complain about, then go elsewhere.

Oh - and one more thing. To the moron who initially started with the " I got fired " post for driving a forklift without wearing a seatbelt - I offer two things:

    1. WTF?!? No punctuation, mis-spellings, and you are ticked off over losing your minimum-wage job? Seriously? Florida is an at-will work state. That means you can quit whenever you wan without reason, and they can release you whenever they want without reason. So - cry me a river elsewhere.

    2. If you had hurt yourself or someone else because you fell out of your forklift and you were not wearing the seatbelt, not only could OSHA have a field-day with Lowe's, but I am certain that someone somewhere would have taken your 3 second error in judgement to put the seat-belt on, and turned it into a multi-million dollar loss for the company. Before you decide that they are wealthy and can afford it, consider that the profit margin ( assuming it's 15-25% ) would likely dictate that per each million given, the company would have to sell considerably more to raise that. Secondly, the lawyers get 40%, and you would end up with squat.

So - think about it before you go whine in public.

  18. I was informed by the manager of my local Lowe's that the company no longer offers a military discount to veterans with service connected disabilities (Class 1 & 2). However, they will still offer the discount to active duty personel and retired veterans.

I have a difficult time understanding why those veterans who retired from the military deserve your discount, but a veteran who served on the front lines and received wounds that resulted in life time disabilities, wounds that were serious enough to end his military career, isnt worthy of this discount. According to Loew's policy, a man who worked as a military clerk and never went abroad will get this discount, but a veteran who served 15 years and lost his legs will not. I think the executive who made this decision should be available to explain this policy to those veteran who shop at your stores.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe just maybe some of us that retired werre injured in the line of duty. Maybe just maybe our separation papers reads "HONORABLE". What does yours read, maybe a lower discharge. By the way a veteran that lost his legs has the same color ID card as a dependent and that card works in Lowes for a 10% discount. Oh by the way a DD214 is proof enough as to military service for Lowes. Go on across the street to the orange box and ask for a military discount, they will laugh at you.

      Delete
    2. Wrong answer! Home Depot also give a 10% discount. They don't advertize it but if you show your card you will get 10% off.

      Delete
    3. The Home Depot does offer a 10% discount just like Lowes. They difference is the don't advertise it. If you show your Mil ID, you will get the discount. Don't think that Lowes has something over Home Depot.

  19. Lowe's website was not working the entire Black Friday weekend. I tried to place an order and when you got to check-out there was a picture of tools and a notice that said "Our Website is Experiencing Technical Difficulties." As a result of this I missed the entire sale check-out pricing. I sent an email to the Lowe's Customer Service and followed up with the fill-out form on their website. I also called to place the order on Sunday but the recording says THEY ARE CLOSED (huh?)... it is now Tuesday and I still received no reply. I am calling customer service as I am typing this and I am a pretty patient guy but I have been holding for them for ... 25:10 minutes so far. Wish me luck. I never experienced this with Sears in all my life of shopping with them. It's a shame because Lowe's spends so much money in advertising and I just want to spend a lousy $360 with them right now.

  20. I hoped the new Lowes they built in Palm Bay, Fla. would have a nicer group of emplyees, but today I found out they must all be alike. I am 4' 11 and older, as I pulled a heavy flat bed cart loaded with 400 lbs of salt, I pasted men who worked there and even approached the male cashier out of breath. As usual no one offered to help me in the store or to my van. There are thousands of unemployed people out there, How about hiring a few helpful ones. We older people would really like a helping hand sometimes, at least ask.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well you could always hire one of the many unemployed people in your area and have them help you load and unload the salt. This way when you get home you have nothing to worry about.

  21. Lowes, is firing employees to improve their bottom line. They look for reasons to document employee performance NOW more than ever. This store is notorious for bringing agony to families of emloyees during the holiday season. They are very methodic in their tactics, acting in un-christian like behavior and un-american in their business processes, and despotic in their management methods and practices.
Jereme (store manager) and his management staff are taking all steps in an unethicaj manner to salvage their bonuses and store 2609 bottom line at the expense of loyal hardworking employees. They say where there is smoke there is fire. Lowes Corporate and Outside consumer advocate groups should look into their evil ways.

    1. What do you expect from a company that is racist and against minority groups? To them their employees are scum just like they put all the Muslims in one pot. This is one of the companies that have helped put the U.S. into the mess it is in now. I just know they do not get any business from me anymore.

  22. Shame on Lowe's for pulling their commercials from "All American Muslim" because of complaints by a radical Christian group. I am a 69 year old, anglo, Protestant American woman and I will no longer shop at Lowe's. You claim to be concerned with diversity and community. I call that hypocrisy.

    ReplyDelete
  23. My wife’s father has over 10 patents on products sold at Lowes and your competitors.
I have shopped at Loews many times myself. Your company pulling your ads from “All American Muslins” was a horrible PR move for a couple of reasons.
    1. You look like you are easily persuaded by religious extremist groups. That says to me that your core leadership is not strong and company stability is week.
    2. Any company that is successful knows to stay out of religion and politics. Asks your selves what percent of my customers are religious extremists? Is the publicity you are receiving being associated with extreme Christian groups generating you more business?
    3. With this national publicity you are alienating potential customers that are offended by your religious stance and will take their business to your competitors.
    4. How many of the products that you sell and profit from were created by Muslims? I can count 10 personally so we all know that the number must be higher than that. Don’t bight the hand that feeds you and don’t mix business with politics.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am extremely disappointed in Lowe's! I have shopped Lowe's for many years, and usually like it better than the the other 'big box' stores. The fact that you caved to a extreme, fanatical religious hate group has changed my opinion! I will now take my business elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I too will choose to do business elsewhere. There's enough prejudice and hatred in the world, I dont want my money benefiting a company that demonstrates such hypocrisy. I hope something will be done to correct this situation.

  26. I will shop at lowes for the rest of my life because they pulled the advertising from that show. Thank you lowes, it means alot to me.

  27. Congratulations for standing up for what you think and feel is right. As a private company in the USA, you advertise where and when you feel fit. I stand behind you. I frequent your stores OFTEN, being a contractor in the Denver, CO area, and I am PROUD of your stance. You will see that many, many others are as well i the coming days.
Bod Bless America, God Bless YOU

  28. How American that when a group or business chooses to not support a radical "religion" it's a move filled with prejudice and hatred, but when the same thing occurs toward anything considered Christian it's perfectly fine. A company is an independent entity and can choose to support or not support whatever show, action, book, etc. it chooses. How interesting the description "extreme, fanatical, religious, hate group." Guess our founding fathers would be members of an "extreme, fanatical, religious, hate group." If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for everything. Case in point. Thanks Lowes for standing up for basic, American beliefs!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I will no longer be shopping at Lowes since you caved to the "Christian" right wing extremists. You have no backbone and no moral fiber. I am passing the word to as many people as possible. Go Home Depot !!!

  31. I do not agree with the pulling of the adds, it shows bigotry and ignorance. and have sent an e mail to that effect to the corporation e mail address. I am not Muslim. Fanatics and bigots should not be followed. I am a 57 year old white Catholic. I make the decisions in my family where to buy things and will have to re evaluate my shopping at Lowe's. At the very least it will not be my first stop anymore.

  32. Thank you for standing up for America and pulling the advertising from "American Muslim". It is ignorant people who have not researched this ideaology who are offended. Those of us who know the distruction, bias and brazen perpetuation for violence and "jihad" know that you have done the right thing. I think I'll be shopping at your store more for taking a stand. Thank you!

He may not be my senator, but I'm glad he wrote that letter (I am writing one too). I hope it helps to resolve the "religious bigotry" that Lowe's did by pulling the ads from TLC's "All American Muslim". As American's we must protect our "Freedoms".

    ReplyDelete
  34. I commend Lowes for their decision to pull advertsing from the "American Muslim" television show. As a private corporation/company they have the right to support and advertise as they see fit. Senator Lieu should mind his own business. If they had pulled their advertisign from a Christian type of programming nothing would have been said or done about it. This country was founded on Christian priniciples and far to many attacks have been made on Christians and on the principles of Christianity that this country was founded upon. I will continue to shop at Lowes and support their decision 100%. Although I must admit that Lowes Customer Service is terrible at best, and my wife works for Lowes and I dont agree with a lot of their work policies, but at least has a job.
